your heart is heart shaking and your hands are sweating when you walk to the set of ‘knowing brothers’. it was your first time ever attending a variety show like this and you were nervous, you want to do your best but you don’t know if you’re variety show potential or not.

it hasn’t been long since your group debuted so you feel even more thankful that ‘knowing brothers’ invited you along with two of your other group members for their next episode.

some people think that they only invited you because you’re SM’s new girlgroup, they think that you guys got the big 3 privilege. what they don’t know is that being in one of the big 3 companies isn’t as much of an easy ride as they make it out to be and you all had demons to fight so you could finally debut.

“oh, they’re also here,” one of your group members softly nudges your side and you follow her gaze, your eyes landing on RIIZE. SM‘s boygroup that debuted a while ago.

“i can‘t believe our managers didn’t tell us that we wouldn’t be the only SM group here,” you whisper to your two group members.

when the cameras start rolling, your group enters first. getting hyped up by the people filming, the MC‘s and other guests, you gain confidence and the nervousness you were feeling a few minutes ago starts to fade.

“do you think you can do it?”

you take a look around the set, seeing how everyone is analyzing you — including wonbin.

you can’t let him see you being insecure. nope, you need to pull off your best.

“of course i can. i‘m the main dancer for a reason,” you smile, hearing your members cheer for you in the background.

the MC‘s stare at you, amazed by your confidence. they’re not the only ones though ; from the side of your eyes you see wonbin looking at you with a big grin on his face.

“seeing you so confident is refreshing, a lot of other idols would feel shy. it’s kind of cute,“ one of the MC‘s raises his eyebrow at you. ew. you’re so not feeling what he just said, but because the cameras are on, you can’t let your discomfort show, so you just laugh.

wonbin doesn’t notice that he put his hand in a fist when the MC called you cute until sungchan put a hand on his shoulder and told him to loosen up.

“you can’t let your jealousy show, wonbin.”

wonbin looks at him, acting like he doesn’t know what sungchan is talking about.

“jealous? why would i be jealous? i‘m not jealous.”

sungchan doesn’t answer, he just raises his eyebrows and grins at wonbin.

“the random dance play starts now!” the MC suddenly announces which brings wonbin’s whole attention back to you.

while the countdown to the first song started, the same MC who called you cute, walks closer to you . “a little spoiler; at some point, bite me by enhypen will play. i will jump in to do the partner dance with you.”

you had no choice but to press your lips together and smile. remember, it’s all for the show, you tell yourself.

the MC thought he was being slick with walking closer to you to tell you that, but he wasn’t as quiet as he probably intended to be because wonbin heard it. he heard what the MC told you.

“who does he think he is?” wonbin whispers to himself. “i‘m not going to let that happen.”

so far, the dances on the random dance play were all that you’ve done dance challenges to, so it wasn’t really hard. you were doing very good if you could say so yourself.

but the constant panic that keeps arising within you whenever the next song is supposed to play (because you just didn’t want to dance to bite me with the MC) is making it hard for you to focus.

and when the song finally plays, you close your eyes for the first few seconds because you weren’t ready for what’s about to happen.

taking a deep breath in and out, you open them again.. only to see wonbin right next to you, leading the dance.

wait? what?

you’re trying your best to not let the confusion show; why is he here? did he really just come up to dance with you? why would he do that?

the dance goes smoothly, it’s like the two of you were meant to dance together.

not to mention the fireworks that are exploding inside of you right now and they only grow bigger everytime wonbin even slightly touches you.

the whole time, wonbin is trying his hardest to not grin like an idiot because he’s enjoying this so much. he couldn’t care less about what everyone is thinking right now. for him, nothing else matters other than dancing together with you.

the music stops and you two freeze, just looking into each others eyes for a moment until you realize that you’re in public right now and everything is being filmed.

quickly, you bow to wonbin as a thank you and turn away from him to face the MC‘s (who are looking at you with big smiles).

“park wonbin,” the MC, who has been hitting on you the whole time, calls out.

wonbin turns to him, nodding. “yes?”

“you‘re quite the show stealer. and partner.”

wonbin doesn’t let himself get thrown offguard. instead, he puts on his best smile.

“i just thought that a main dancer should dance with another dancer. i didn’t intend to steal your moment, sir.. and also, don’t we look good together?” wonbin smiles at you.

the MC analyzes wonbin for a quick moment until he lets out the biggest laugh. “honestly, you danced way better than i could ever have. you matched *y/n*s energy very well and it’s true that you look good together.. almost like a couple.”

the other MC nodds in agreement. “seeing you two dance together makes me want to wish for a collab stage between the two of you in the future.”

now wonbin’s eyes wander over to you. his smile is so infectious that you feel the corners of your lips going up as well.

right so at ur work it’s real common to have military folk there bc it is a military town, close to base, training facilities etc. 

first visit was just to the bar section of the place. price thought it would be good for moral to go out and have some chill team time, watch a football match and just hang out.

soap ordered some food and you brought it over to them. simon did not notice you bc he was watching the game, but then he got a whiff of soaps food and decided to grab something.

cue you coming back over with your sweet smile and handing him his food and cutlery before wandering back to the resturant bc its a quiet night.

second time ghost comes in it’s at night again but the restaurant is slammed bc it’s family week, everyone is getting dinner the night before they gotta head home. 

lbr, simon didnt think about you until soap wanted to go out again: "where are we goin'" "that place with the pretty server", knows exactly where they are going.

but still, your smile and warmth towards everyone is so kind and customer service is through the roof. yet he watches as you race around in and out of the kitchen with crazy ease and grace

like dude is impressed at you staying calm and steady despite how fuckin busy it is and people with their insane requests and demands for food (inpatient pricks)

he wants to stick around and watch u but it has become way to loud and busy for him so he bows out and goes back to his quiet room

knows all the drama and gossip of the restaurant. glad to hear you are not dating the guy behind the bar and that you also don't like the receptionist because he perfume is to strong.

he will hang around and wait for it to die down to be able to talk to you. if it gets too loud for him he might just try and see you at the till as he leaves but has pushed through once or twice to talk to you.

something about you makes him feel more real, that he isn’t just some shell of a man, that he has a purpose. he likes that you treat him normally, the fresh slate you give him is like clean evening air.

ANYWAY it would take him ages to ask you out, like more than six/ seven months, and he would be so nervous (not to the point of stuttering or shaking bc this man is military he has been in worse situations, but his heart would be running a marathon and the self doubt would be just as loud)

but also protective ghost omgggg, he would be seething watching the old men be creepy and shit

knife and fork are down and he is up behind these men leering over them “excuse me, I just have a question about my meal.” just would say anything to get you out of that situation and back over to him. Or would just stand by the register staring down these men (this happens a lot more often than simon would like to admit)

always checks in when he is leaving to make sure he didn’t over step or make you uncomfortable by accident

but to rafe, this was enough to warrant a soup kitchen delivered to your door. it’s not like the extravagance was a burden on him anyways; he could’ve bought every pint of ice cream and every bag of cough drops in the store and it wouldn’t make a dent in his back account.

“rafe, honey,” you laughed, wiping under your stuffed up nose. “i just asked for cough drops. what’d you do, looks ‘em up on web md?”

Ooooo final girls from each dorm!!! That's such a fun question. Here are my thoughts!!! ^w^

Heartslabyul's final girl would be Cater. He's so perfect for the final girl trope! You think he might die first because he's pretty and can't let go of his phone for the life of him, but when he gets serious he can be very cutthroat. <3 the idiotic duo would have to be Ace and Deuce. Deuce hears a strange noise and wants to check it out because he's definitely not scared of demons or killers and he'll beat up anything that tries to hurt him and his friends. Ace thinks he's trying to prank him, but he begrudgingly follows him, thinking it's either nothing and Deuce is trying to scare him or it'll just turn out to be something with a completely natural explanation. It's neither, and while they're both bickering the killer looms from behind. Riddle is the logical one who tries to put everything into perspective and figure out a logical reason behind everything. Trey is, unsurprisingly, the mom friend who just wants everyone to stay in one place because hopefully the authorities will show up soon (they never will).

Savanaclaw's final girl is Ruggie. He's resourceful and cunning; you think he may die first, but he's actually very good at survival. He'll live, but he comes out of the horrific night covered in blood after he's just fought the killer to the death. Jack is your typical jock, kind-hearted and caring, who doesn't believe in any of that ghost stuff or horror movie trope stuff, but when it becomes too real he gets even more serious than before, determined to survive and protect those close to him. Leona strikes me as the type who, upon the first sign of something suspicious or dangerous, promptly leaves. He will not be swept up in any murder plots, no thank you. <3 either that or he sleeps through it all and the killer thinks he's dead at first glance LOL.

Octavinelle's final girl would be Floyd. As goofy as he is, he's also another cutthroat guy who can and will survive. He may throw himself directly at danger, but somehow he always comes out of it alive. Jade is your typical killer-in-hiding. You won't suspect him until it's too late, and by then nearly half the cast is dead. Azul is the type who acts like an ally to everyone, but he's secretly either plotting with the killer or planning to sacrifice everyone in order to save himself.

Scarabia's final girl is Jamil. Most of his decisions are made solely to protect Kalim (who naturally is the comedic relief/carefree friend who is just too sweet for this world), but there's a build-up in this movie where the plot twist is that Jamil ultimately ends up tricking Kalim. Is it possible for both him and Jamil to survive? Perhaps, but this isn't that kind of movie. :) and from the bloodshed, Jamil emerges, alive, exhausted, and traumatized. (Or I could also see Jamil as a killer-in-hiding and Kalim as the final girl; it fits either way in my mind hehe!! :D)

Pomefiore's final girl is either Epel or Vil. It's hard to choose just one of them for the trope because I feel like it can fit them both in different ways. Rook is obviously the killer-in-hiding or he's just that really unnerving character who happens to know too much about how a killer thinks. >_< Vil as a final girl would be so cool because I think he can also be quite cutthroat. He's the character type who spends most of his focus on himself throughout the movie, yet he still manages to survive. How, you may ask? He weaponized various beauty products or, my most favorite idea, he fought the killer in heels and won, by which the heels absolutely became his weapon. >:) Epel as a final girl would be somewhat surprising because he's the character who no one really expects to live because he's "so petite and cute and omg how will he ever survive the big, scary killer!!!!" D: but then Epel shocks everyone when he ends up arming himself with brass knuckles or a baseball bat to go hunt down the killer himself.

Ignihyde's final girl is Idia, but then he also fits into the loser nerd category. Idia as a final girl is a little frustrating because he spends the entire movie being prideful and rude to the other characters, so everyone sort of wants him to be killed off first because he's so unlikable. But because Idia's seen all of these tropes before and knows his way around a horror movie, he ends up surviving. Ortho survives as well, but then I can also picture him being something of a sci-fi horror villain (i.e. technology becomes bad and targets humans). It's something like in book six where he was giving the students little tests in order to advance to the next level. Just a little villainous and devious!

Diasomnia's final girl is Silver. The stress of the situation manages to keep him awake, and so he's mainly in survival mode for the entirety of the film. Silver does his best to protect everyone, even putting himself at risk if it means he can save his friends. Sebek likely puts up a good fight, but he's far too stubborn and can't be quiet to save his life, so he ends up getting killed. I feel like Lilia could be a killer-in-hiding, or he's just the mischievous trickster type. Malleus could also be a killer-in-hiding, or he's the trope of "misunderstood character with a reputation that is solely rumors who turns out to be quite sweet and helpful to the main character."

Iterator Styles

I have two main styles for iterators: chibi and humanoid-ish. round head vs oval head with a cheek curve (cheek curve is a staple of my style. was actually against it when drawing iterators with it for the first time, yet it’s become such a signature now XD. I love it a lot huhu). here is an example with my lovely boy Twine (he is not the main antagonist despite his mischievous posings). also!! slim eyes for devious characters, like twine and shadows (and leaves, unwillingly /lore). the two ogs 💛 with their yellow jack-o-lantern faces. theres a phrase i made up a bit ago: you can’t spell wanderer without jack-o-lantern-faced iterator, can you?

got better with posing over the years but im still struggling with fabric and cloaks </3

Slugcat Styles

now for slugcats, its evolved a different way. rather with two stages, they have a few more. when i first discovered rainworld, i had a very simple way of drawing. u heads and 3 fingers and toes, aswell with really odd aggressively-digi legs. and then it evolved when i learned “sketching” (blotting down odd shapes with barely any sense of proportion. balls for the elbows, no line of action, eyeing it and getting anatomy wrong lol) and things got really disproportionate. theres more stages, but i made a few complex and simple examples of my style over the years :]!! maybe i put too much effort into it but it was interesting to figure out!!

theres some timeskips in the big timeline one, and some other arts of mine might showcase style changes a bit better, and this is only my digital gallery, but oh well!!! whats done is done until its undone💥 /ghibli movie reference

didn’t do iterators or general effects-and-tidbits-i’ve-learned (shading, rendering, lineart, etc) bc i’ve spent so much time already. so you get SLUGCAT BEAM BLASTED💥💥. all this art ranges from 2019-2024 (the years i’ve been a rainworld fan :])

I love how sirius is viewed differently from each pov.

Like, from his perspective his relationship with reg has a lot of resentment and guilt, he puts himself in this martyr position that he has to protect his innocent little brother, but from regs perspective he doesn’t see any of that, there is this almost childish sibling jealousy and competition. I think because I’m also the younger sister I could really understand regs feelings; siblings get jealous of each other all the time especially as a kid, and reg suffered a lot of neglect by his parents and this really shows even in his adulthood. Sirius in his pov seems very distant and even cruel at some parts (not as a child), like he didn’t make any effort for their relationship, regulus even wants to spend time with his brother despite all their unspoken problems. Then we read sirius pov and we can see how he feels and what his intentions were.

Sirius in remus pov is very funny to me, because he is expressive and so stubborn. I like to compare remus pov with sirius pov just to see the difference like

“I thought you might be.”

Sirius looks up. Their eyes meet. Remus smiles, a little scrap of a thing.

And in remus pov of the same scene

“I thought you might be.”

Sirius looks up. There’s something canine about him, imploring. Remus smile a little, because really, it is funny.

I just find him hilarious without even trying, it’s nice to see the contrast of each perspective. I love how complex you made this characters, they feel alive to me.

yeah it's been!! a lot of fun playing around with different povs in the fic. originally i was intending to just write the whole thing from sirius's pov, but after finishing the first part there was a lot that i felt just wouldn't really come through if the story was limited to his pov only--unless i like wrote really forced conversations or ooc realizations/thoughts etc, so that's why i ended up feeling like we needed to get remus's side of the story too--and writing the different ways they each view each other and themselves was so much fun and really helped me flesh out the story more! nobody in this story is a 100% reliable narrator, and writing from different povs helped me emphasize that each character has limits to their perspective. my goal is to give readers puzzle pieces more than statements of fact, so that it's up to each reader to weigh the biased povs they're getting and then fit them together and draw their own conclusions about the characters from the image that they get.

and i didn't really decide to include a reg pov until i was writing sirius's backstory, and then it felt, again, like i needed to add another perspective in there for the sake of developing both characters--they see each other and their relationship differently, but neither of them is wrong about their characterization of events; it's all just a matter of perspective. sirius was cruel to reg in some ways, and that's very clear from regulus's pov where you're getting the emotional aspect of having your big brother who used to be your closest friend suddenly rebuff you and ignore you in a way that mimics the treatment he's received growing up from their parents. but it's not just as simple as "sirius is being cruel," because we understand from sirius's pov that he was dealing with a lot of pain and simply did not have the emotional bandwidth to be a good brother--and it's not like regulus was a perfect brother either! but even where they're in conflict, it's not as simple as right/wrong good/bad.

hi moony! i saw u were feeling sad and insecure and wanted to share a little trick/advice i guess whenever i’m feeling the same way especially bc of pics i’m in. the first thing i do is stop looking at the pics bc the more i look, the more i over analyze, and start criticizing all the flaws i think i see. i give it a couple hours, sometimes a couple days. i remember how much fun i had wherever i was and try to keep myself from thinking about how i looked. after some time has passed i’ll look back at the pics and i usually find that what i thought were really bad pics of me actually end up being really cute pics. granted, they don’t always end up being pics i feel confident enough to post anywhere, but they’re pics i can look back at and smile at instead of pick out whatever flaws i think i see. i know this advice is all about mentality and it’s easier said than done :( but i hope it helps a little bit 💕 remember, we are our biggest critics and the flaws you think you might see aren’t flaws at all in the eyes of friends, family, loved ones, even a random passerby, etc

↳ sure, girls at school would probably throw themselves at him if he asked, but the first person he thought of was you.

↳ you were someone he and some others in toman were friends with, so that made things easier. plus you were pretty smart in class and (also) wanted to have good grades, so whatever future "dates" you two could have, y'all could either study together or something. it was perfect! his mom also knew you by name since either he or chifuyu would mention you from time to time, so it wasn't like you were a complete stranger as well!

↳ yall were probably like sweethearts or had some unestablished feelings to one another before... the incident that led kazutora to have to go away for a bit.

↳ when you first heard of what happened, you were in denial that that happened. that would never happen. he'd never do that, right heartbroken. shocked. confused. betrayed. you felt many things once the denial subsided, but it wasn't your place to say anything.

↳ that's the first half of your story. it continues to once he gets out. when he does, the first thing on his mind was where were you? since you never visited him (or at least none that he ever was aware of), and he didn't blame you for it. but yet still, he worried for you. he wanted to know how you were doing. how you were all this time and how much has changed. he also wanted you to know how sorry he was. you were probably confused, and scared even, and he knows he caused you pain when he suddenly disappeared like that.

↳ he'd bump into you again once he visits all the usual spots you would go to back then, and when you two lock eyes, you nearly drop whatever it is you're holding until one of you finally utters out a slightly awkward "hey".

↳ kazutora knew he messed up, and he's spend his time trying to make it up to you. he'd "bump" into you more, and with him, he'd always have small trinkets he knows you enjoy on him. the snack you enjoy that he said he packed but got full so you could have it, or your favourite flower he "found" on the way there and so on.

↳ this carries on for a bit and trust me, the moment you start to accept him again and you show him your smile and laughter again, his heart would melt <33 he'd do anything to see you happy again
