Tim!!! The silly :)

Explanation and a little fic under the cut ⬇

So, initially, i was thinking of this as Tim in a casket of his making, him thinking even if he died no one would be there for the funeral and therefore it would be his responsibility to lay himself down on his bed of roses, attend his funeral, live as lonely as he thought he was. And so, dying alone.

But!! I actually really like the Immortal!Tim Aus so it could also be that.

Imagine this: [Death and apathy to death TW]

Tim discovered he was immortal at a younger age than most, neglected toddlers have a high death rate, so he died as a baby. He doesnt remember much, if not for the one and only scar on his neck, easily hidden by his hair. He assumes he broke his neck, falling out of something, but no one was there to tell him how he died, so he will never know. With that, started the deaths. Never any scarring from them, if not for the first one, but he died a lot.

When he turned into Robin, he didn't think to hide that. Sure, Batman has a "no metas" rule, but he has no activated meta gene. He is not a meta. He is just... unusual. So he died. A lot. He always came back, but he thought at least someone noticed it. If only for a bit, anyone noticed his heartbeat stopping.

If he had asked any of the supers he met, they would've told him his heart stopped all the time and they thought he had a mechanism for that, to throw them off his tail, like Batman did. He didn't though, never thought to ask, and so it happened.

The Incident, so to speak. It was another patrol day, going to the docks to bust a drug smuggling, meeting up with Nightwing for some paired patrol for a few hours and go back home. However, they got caught in an ambush, close to the last hours of patrol, just some goons. But, Tim hadn't died in a couple weeks, as he hadn't slept for the same time. And, usually, death takes the same effect as sleeping, if less peaceful. He thought of resting after his shift, actually.

So, really, when the goon, gun in hand, positioned himself to shoot Tim in the head, he didn't think to dodge. His only thought was "Huh, that's an easier way". So he got shot. In front of Nightwing.

But, at the time, he still thought they knew. They knew he died and came back, that the "Dead Robins Club" that he was not invited to was a joke, because they could count the amount of times they died and Tim couldn't. That they knew him.

He wakes up gasping. Not an unusual reaction. Whats unusual about this is that it's dark and he can feel petals beneath him. And that there is little oxygen and he just wasted most by gasping for air.

His next few deaths are asphyxiation. His next many deaths are asphyxiation too, this time with lungs full of dirt.

He doesnt know how much time he spends alive, nor how much time he spends dead. He just knows, far too many deaths passed when he gets out of his grave. So many deaths in fact, he learns a new thing about this ability of his. Dying repeatedly for a long time makes his healing factor only heal the cause of his death. He notes that as he finds his fingertips and fingernails bleeding. He will have to fix that in his next death.

He guesses he can finally join the Dead Robins Club. Having to crawl out of his own grave seems like a good enough reason. Still, his clothes are soiled and torn and he bets the autopsy scars have faded by now. So, all he has to do is fix his grave and prepare a new identity. After that, he can go look for another name Jason used before for him to steal into his new persona.

Would he tell the others he was alive? Maybe eventually, not in the same way Jason did though. But he does feel a bit of joy just thinking ways he could mess with them. It's their fault anyway, for thinking he could stay dead.

Clay's Color

What do y'all think is Clay Calloway's signature color? Like, for Ash we have red, Buster's blue, Gunter is yellow, so on and so forth. But, what do we think of Clay? I've been hyperfixated on him for checks calendar a year, and I am yet to decide. However, I do have 4 possible options. (poll at the end)

These first two are the two I'm learning towards the most. First off, red. This is mostly just because in his normal outfit, he wears a red jacket. It also matches with Ash. Simple, I know, but it doesn't have to be complex.

A second idea is blue. He has blue eyes and pronouns the one time he sings, the setting has a very strong blue hue. It's also maybe worth noting he wears a blue plaid shirt and blue jeans in his normal outfit, although the more eye-catching color there is red, so it doesn't really count.

Thirdly, you can say tan or white. This is probably for the most obvious, that being that it's the colors of his body. It's not too abnormal though, since we can see Miss Crawly's signature color being green because of this.

Speaking of green, I was thinking that may also be an option, although I do not necessarily care for it. In one graphic, we see him outlined in a green border, and we also see green the most with Clay in his garden and stuff.

Anyways, I'm really curious to know as to what y'all think about all this, so here's a poll to gauge our thoughts.

General Vocabulary

Final Light - Name for the day the Broken Ones appeared, and the colonies were destroyed.

Colony – A group of cats that believe in the Seasonal Deities and follow the Sacred Decree.

City Cat - A cat who lives in the city.

Follower - A cat who lives with the Followers of the Lynx.

Lawbreaker - A cat who has broken the Sacred Decree. Treatment of lawbreakers varies depending on the colony and the law broken, but are often treated harshly or with hate.

Settlement – Where a colony or faction lives; Their home.

Lodging - A den or building. Specifically refers to the space a cat sleeps in.

Religious Vocabulary

Seasonal Deities – The four deities the colonies worship, who rule over one season each. In order from spring to winter: the Lynx, the Bear, the Squirrel, and the Otter.

Sacred Decree – The laws the colonies follow. The original set of laws were set by the Seasonal Deities, but over time the colonies added to the rules.

The Seasonal Trials – The ritual a cat must go through to become leader of their colony. The cat must gather the four artifacts and present them to receive their title and blessing from the gods.

Ancestors – The spirits of colony cats who have passed away. The Seasonal Deities task them with various jobs to keep the world in motion, although they are most well known as messengers for the gods.

Names for Creatures

Broken Ones - Large, deformed creatures that resemble the Tall Ones. Universally feared, and to be avoided at all costs.

Clicking Ones – Refers to the creatures the Tall Ones used to control. They appear in a variety of forms and bodies, although can all be identified by their smooth and cold shells, lack of eyes, nose, ears, or mouth, and the clicking sounds they make. Typically not aggressive or harmful, but can prove to be a nuisance to cats.

Tall Ones – Colony name that means 'human'.

Colony Ranks & Titles

Title / Name – All colony cats format their name into two parts; Their title, which signifies their rank or important skills, and their given or chosen name. A full name is "[Title] of [Name]", such as "Call of Dreams", "Breeze of Dawn", or "Shade of Maple". A name can be shortened to just the suffix, although it can be seen as unprofessional or rude in certain situations.

Epithets – Special titles given by oracles, commanders, or rarely, family. Epithets are typically given to reflect important or remarkable deeds a cat has done as a way to honor them. While a cat may still use their original title, epithets are often used by others to signal respect or acknowledgement of one's achievements.

Kit / Kitten – A child under 8 months old. They are named when their eyes change color, and are made into trainees at the earliest opportunity once they've grown out of their nestings. Kits have the title of 'Kitten'.

Trainee – A young cat training to be a full member of their colony. A kit becomes a trainee either during the spring or fall in groups called dennings, which they will keep for the rest of their lives. This denning is then assigned a role which they will all collectively learn together, taught by another denning of the same job. Trainees have the title of 'Student'. Once the denning has completed training, they are considered adults and given their adult title, chosen by the denning who taught them.

Guard – A cat who is tasked with guarding the colony’s settlement and patrolling territory. Cats who are guards often switch between guarding the settlement, or patrolling the territory itself.

Hunter – A cat who is tasked with hunting food for the colony or collecting materials. Sometimes hunters may also be tasked with keeping track of threats in the territory.

Healer – A cat who is tasked with using plants and herbs to mend wounds. They are tasked with keeping track of medicines, containing and preventing illnesses, and learning more about medicines if possible. Unfortunately, the Colony of Bones believe that all life is in the paws of the gods, and thus have no healers.

Messenger – A cat who is tasked with navigating across territories to send messages to other colonies. This is a secondary job, that a cat may choose to pursue alongside their main one. While in another colony's territory, it is against the Sacred Decree to attack a messenger.

Oracle – A cat chosen at birth by the Ancestors to relay messages sent by the Seasonal Deities. Once chosen (odd markings or eye colors and receiving unusual dreams can be signs a cat is an oracle, although the current oracle has the final say), the cat is raised with the sole purpose of communicating with the dead. Has the title ‘Prophet’.

Retired / Seniors – A cat who has become too old to continue their duties as normal. They will retain their adult name into their retirement and may still help around the settlement if able.

Advisor – The second in command to the commander, tasked with helping the commander with important decisions and giving advice or council. They usually take over leadership once the commander dies, but sometimes commanders will choose someone else to be the heir. Some commanders may choose to have multiple advisors, but this is frowned on by more traditional cats. Has the title ‘Voice’.

Commander – The leader of the colony, who has passed the Seasonal Trials and received their title and blessing from the gods. The god the commander follows will often impart blessings, wisdom, or advice to the commander, which is said to be necessary for the ordeal of ruling an entire colony. Has the title ‘Commander’.
