AU Jegulus fic twist on Percy Jackson. Although I will say, none of them will be matching the actual seven like the parents will be different and will fit the characters like how I imagine they’d fit. Basically all I’m adding in is the marauders being demigods with a very VERY loose similarity to the seven💀

James would be Percy, but not the son of Poseidon. I mean this like, James is the one that would pull everyone together and make things go in motion, he’d be the one to challenge the gods because he recognizes that they’re shitty. His fatal flaw would be his loyalty (because it fucking was.) James is definitely the son of Apollo tho, I literally couldn’t make it any other way cause like James Potter is the Sun. But I do think Euphemia would be Sally and Fleamont would be Apollo but acts like Poseidon (ie simp for Sally) or Fleamont would be Paul because he’s stable and supportive. And I like Paul. Although, I think the Annabeth to his Percy would be (obvi) Regulus!

Regulus wouldn’t be the son of Athena, although he could be tbh, I see him more as a nico type variant. So, if SoAngelo was Percabeth basically 🫠 Regulus fits this vibe because he’s an emo boy who can’t swim. But also, because he’d definitely be the one to have trauma and a mixed up background. I think he’d still have Nico’s background and Sirius would act as Bianca, as in they both come from 1940’s Italian background and ended up in a fucking casino for years.

With that, I kinda see Remus as the son of Athena. He’d be the Annabeth in the planning and he’d be the one to make sure James’ dumbass stayed alive😂. I like the idea of making Peter be either a Satyr and friend like Grover or like Luke and be a friend turned enemy. Sirius would be the Thalia of the situation, mixed with a bit of Bianca (kinda?)

What I mean by that is that Sirius and Regulus would have different fathers but the same mom. They’d still be targeted but it’s because they’re the sons of Zeus and Hades respectively. I think this is because Sirius gives me electric vibes, he fits the son of Zeus. Regulus on the other hand is the dark one, the one that everyone kinda shuns a bit. So, in this setting, Sirius and Regulus wouldve both been hunted by Zeus in this AU (major reason why James has beef w Zeus) and Hades would’ve helped his son and sent them both to the casino to save them. But!! They get out earlier than in the series, they end up being lead out by one of the fates (ig??) because of the Great Prophecy that has James and Regulus as a key part, as well as our Luke variant, The Prophecy would be different because of this and because of my need to have fate force Starchaser to have a happy ending 🙃 anyway, so they get out and meet Remus, Barty (Luke) and Peter (Grover) on the way, right? So, ya know how that story goes. Only difference is that Remus and Peter are best friends and Remus had a crush on Sirius during their time spent together trying to find Camp Half-Blood. Then, right as they’re reaching the gates, the Cyclops comes and Sirius sacrifices himself for Regulus, this makes Zeus pissed because fuck that was his kid actually, so he turns him into a pine tree. Regulus ends up blaming himself for getting his brother killed and becomes a recluse tbh who only really talks to Barty. He doesn’t get claimed until James gets there and they end up getting claimed at the same time (prophecy things) which the first great prophecy would go something like this:

A half-blood of the eldest god

Shall reach sixteen against all odds,

And see the world in endless sleep.

Son of the Sun, his life and heart he shall keep,

The hero’s soul, cursed blade shall reap,

A single choice shall end his days

Olympus to preserve or raze.

I feel like changing it to the eldest god instead of gods would be limiting it to Hades and with the Son of the Sun, yeah. This would make Zeus and the rest of them change the oath to make it include Apollo (or it could be that they tried to make it just Apollo and Hades but no way in hell Hades would let that slide so celibacy for all four)

Regulus would start to warm up to James after he saved Sirius’ tree, which brought Sirius back to life. And I feel like James and Sirius would but heads a bit especially after Sirius learns that Regulus and James are the ones from the prophecy and Sirius wouldn’t like James at first because he’s scared that James could lead to his brothers death. This changes when Regulus is kidnapped in the Titans Curse. The Hunters would be hard to mix in ngl cause I could make them the girls but I also want the girls to play bigger parts to the story and I feel like the Hunt kinda doesn’t play that big of a part. Because of that, idk who to make Bianca cause Sirius isn’t dying after being brought back😀 I’m thinking we make Bianca be either Emmeline and have Mary blame James for not keeping her gf safe and then have her confide in Lily. Anyway, James stopping at nothing to save Regulus!! I also think James would be powerful as fuck because of this theory I have that the less children a god have = to more powerful kids idk why but it’s something I think ab a lot regarding the actual seven. James would have Photokinesis and Heliokinesis as well as a lot of the powers listed under the Apollo cabins power list (I can’t choose😭) although I mostly say this because I’m gonna hc that Euphemia is a demigod herself, or a legacy, she’s one of the few Greek ones that lived long enough to live semi peacefully in the moral world. Her godly parent is Hecate so that makes James hymns and magic in general just cranked up. It’s why he’s a major player in the war because he comes from an extremely powerful line of legacies (Potter is his mother last name and there’s been records of many, many of the family being demigods)(he doesn’t find this out until later) the Potters being descended from the Peverell brothers in the HP universe just always makes me think that the Potters have a lot more magical power than Rowling gave them so I’m gonna give that power to James in this au😄

James and Regulus holding the sky together!!!! This one is important to me, idk why, but it is. And their grey hair wouldn’t go away randomly in the series, it’d stay there! I feel like this moment would be when Regulus realizes he’s fallen for James because while he was taken, his faith that James would save him never wavers and that’s a big thing for him, that hope in another person, but it’s because he knows who James is. However, he never expects James to help him hold the sky. There’s a difference than simply going after a friend and going against a goddess’s warning (Artemis definitely told her nephew to not take the sky because she would rather her nephew be safe than anything) and shouldering the weight of the world for them. This is the moment he realizes he loves James. He doesn’t tell him, of course 🙄 James had loved regulus since the beginning, it never seemed like something he had to realize. Since the moment he came to the camp and Regulus’ dark grey eyes met James’ own amber colored ones, James knew he was meant to be there. James knew their entire lives were leading up to that moment. Of course, he’s also the son of Apollo and literally has prophecy related powers so he could probably feel the actual strings of fate that tied them together. Which is why he made it his mission to annoy Regulus into friendship on the first day. James doesn’t tell Regulus this until the Labyrinth, when Regulus gets jealous of flaming red hair and emerald green eyes that belong to Lily Evans, someone James felt a strange pull to (because she’s meant to be the oracle🤭) which leads to Regulus getting injured and James thanking his father for passing on his healing powers because he came tell Regulus how he feels in a intimate, cliche moment.

Which, this leads my man Regulus on a mission to find a way to protect James. Thus, he stumbles upon the Curse of Achilles and that whole plot plays out with the exception that James would only go through with it if Regulus did too. Except James wouldn’t choke Regulus like Percy did (even tho Percy was justified ngl) he’d def be heartbroken tho thinking his love had betrayed him, ofc he forgives him once Reggie explains. Once they both submerge into the river and come out again, they get visited by the three fates because ofc 🙄 and basically because they both were used the other to ground themselves to their human side, the fates decide to drop that one can’t live without the other. That should Regulus or James get stuck in their Achilles spot, they’d both die. (Son of the Sun, his heart and life he shall keep)

This would definitely lead to James and Barty fighting and Barty highkey bout to end it when Regulus interrupts with the, “Family, Barty. You promised.”

Then, once the war was over and they go back to camp half-blood, Regulus kisses James and admits to his love for him. And then, James goes missing and three new half-bloods turn up. James would only be able to remember Regulus and would be the one to get everyone on his side 🤣 Octavian would soooo be Snape. I feel like it’s funny asf because of how much Octavian hated Percy and it’s even better that James is the prophesied Son of Apollo and Snape is a legacy. He’d be so pissed that James’ powers are stronger 💀💀

Then Mark of Athena, I was gonna have Sirius and Remus fall instead of James and Regulus but I thought better of it because imagine Regulus seeing James snap in Tartarus. It freaking Regulus out to the point that he begs him never to do it again. ( either uses his plague and sickness power or sun powers to fuck up Akhlys)

Like I can so see that Regulus would save Remus from the web that was wrapped on his foot by manipulating the earth with his power, only to slip and fall into the hole which lead to James jumping to grab him and Sirius grabbing James. James would make Sirius promise to get the others to the other side. And then they’d fall. Regulus and James would cling to each other and James would so use his power to keep Regulus warm (he let it slip that he hates the underground because it makes him feel cold, like the dead)

That’s all I’ve managed to come up with so far, but it’s being rotting my brain all night

I've touched a bit about it on Discord but yeah, about your green-eyes theory: what if the Clam doesn't suck the life out of green-eyed humans, but it gives all its power to them? Can you imagine? Here my Answer: I could totally imagine it! New AU of Oracle!Frederick [imagine blondie Apollo, the greek god of prophecies - that's what I imagine him will be like TBH]. Oracle!Frederick with the power of the Omniscient Clam now has 'unlimited knowledge' that could answer any question each full moon night (like a werewolf curse?) which make him kinda lost his sanity and becomes 'enlightened' to answer the asker at that night, and at the end of the QnA session he living up his 'little prince' final scene of 'convulsed as he's like dying' - which might be worse than Nell's convulsion, but fortunately the Rose (Gwen) could calms him down given the time. So there's the gist of Oracle!Frederick, he'll give answers to eager to be cured or much needed cure (like Abbi, Renée, Sally) and leads the Pastel Family to their mother's homeland but with good intention of civilization exchange [remember Lilyth's Diary part 1? the Islander hope Jack gives new knowledges but as he's not bright - welp - but this time probably?!]

TIMELINE SENTENCES OF THE ORACLE!FREDERICK

During cleanup scenes after big conflict resolved, Frederick that princess carried awaken Gwen to escape meet Jack with the Clam outside

the Clam somehow gives off it's power to Frederick (how it transferred could make him truly a plant boy by giving wreaths of laurels in his head like Apollo)

Leland taking over the Clam but found out it's lost power, the Clam as powerless (except still could communicate) mocked him

starting by Gwen, everyone starts protecting Oracle!Frederick espc the CPC

CPC invites Frederick to be their official newest member, the night the Clam could give answer is the same night of his Slumber party

Everyone declines the offer of Omniscient chance, instead encouraging Frederick to understanding his power more

including Nell, which have chat about how similar they are as used to be locked up and have premonition ability ~ which for Frederick to be truly safe is him being an Oracle should be hidden and he should life normally doing what he wants

what Frederick wants is the same with what everyone encourages, living ordinary but happily with people that cares him espc Gwen. Although he still want to help others and as being Oracle with unlimited power, he could now help the CPC members find the cure of their curse although with limitations the same as the Clam

the conclusion end: Frederick learns that his power as Oracle like the Clam, which he used to help people secretly in safe Haven of CPC in the Pastel Kingdom - but the after effect when using the Clam power is like the little prince scene each time he's using knowledge to answer the asker, he'll look as is he's dying.. which where Gwen and others there to Calms him down to sleep.

in the far/near future Frederick 2ill be the wiseful king that living up his meaning name as a "peaceful ruler" - with curse problem kinda fixed while his existence is a well-kept secret, he living normally as possible, together with Gwendolyn and the family they build together

Klapollo isn't for everyone obviously so I won't say that it is, but they actually foil each other really well and I think that's where the shipping aspect comes in. Apollo wears his heart on his sleeve and is super distrusting of pretty much everyone. Klavier hides his true thoughts and feelings away to be the person he thinks others wants to see and throws himself into trusting people, he wants it so desperately. The people closest to Apollo trust him while the people closest to Klavier don't. They're both grieving so many things, running from and fighting them. They have the potential to help each other in a way that no other characters presented can (in aa4 imo. Not out here saying you couldn't possibly ship them with anyone else, I'm a multishipper myself lol). Some people might be looking for wrightworth, but tbh this ship is the opposite of them. I totally understand not liking the ship, it's hard to be as compelling as wrightworth when capcom decided to do ALL THAT to Apollo rip my guy, hope you can reconcile your 8 backstories, and then do absolutely NOTHING with Kalvier rip my guy, hope you're doing something somewhere and didn't like join Clay offscreen or something. Probably moved to Borginia with Apollo's mom /j I could say more but idk the character limit on an ask and you don't want my essay in your ask box.

(so... now that persona 3 is getting a remake, i can't stop thinking about this one time i was on my way home and i passed by this weird family-owned sweetshop i'd never seen before. so on impulse i decided to go in and buy something, and i ended up buying this huge novelty lemon sherbert, because i needed to study and i wanted something that would last a long time. so i get back home, sit on my bed and look for some calming study music to put on, and for whatever reason the first thing i think of is kimi no kioku from persona 3. at this point, i remembered i had the sherbert, so i put the song on loop, went to get it, and then got back onto the bed to eat it. and because i live alone and there was no one around to make fun of me, for fun i decided to eat it all sexy like cleopatra eating grapes (you know, when you lie back, tilt your head towards the ceiling, hold it above your head, and lower it into your mouth). but as i'm holding it over my head, the sherbert slipped out of my fingers, bounced off my tongue and went straight down the collar of my shirt. i immediately forgot where i was, panicked, awkwardly fished it out and just flung it straight into the back of my throat and accidentally swallowed it whole - at which point it immediately got lodged in my oesophagus and completely cut off my airway, and no matter what i did, i just couldn't get it out. so i stumbled out of bed and started frantically clawing at my throat as i tried to find the door, unable to breathe, unable to scream, until my vision began to darken around the edges and i couldn't see - and the next thing i know i'm lying on my back gasping for air, with a dumbell that i had left lying on the floor now lodged between my shoulder blades, and the massive sherbert fused to my eyelid. so what must've happened is i'd blacked out, toppled backward and fell on this dumbell in just the right way that it dislodged the sherbert and launched it out of my throat, sending it arcing through the air and landing it on my face. and ever since that day i've always wondered - what if i had just died there? if i had fallen very slightly differently and missed the dumbell, would i have died alone on that carpet, desperately begging for help that i knew would never come? and if i did, how long would it have been before someone even noticed i was gone, let alone care enough to come check on me? and what would've happened when they did? since i had the song playing on loop, and my laptop was plugged in, there's a chance that when they did finally find me, they'd find me lying on my back, eyes closed, with kimi no kioku playing on repeat in the background)

I LOVE the idea of a continuous cycle, especially in Greek Mythology. Specifically within the range of the end of one era leading to another. Almost everyone knows the story. Cronos is being fearful, eating his kids, and creating a cycling self-fulfilling prophecy. But what if like the Greek gods we know and love, the big 12, Nike, Eris, Hestia, Eros, and many others, suddenly started having new gods, not specifically to replace them, but maybe they need a vacation or just wanna retire.

With all the established relationships or without wouldn't it be cool to see all the possibilities? tbh, I've had this idea rattling around in my head for a while and I'm kinda attached to it, so I'm just gonna throw out some of my favorite ideas to the unforgiving vacuum of the void.

(Understand that this is with the most basic research and working under the assumption that any godly children that the gods mention already have are not a part of the era three group)

Athena and Artemis refuse to have children with men, so they end up doing basically what Zeus did with Athena and just attaching their little tadpole to Athena and just sorta waiting for what pops out.

Persephone wants kids so bad and gets baby fever like crazy, as does Hades, but they both worry so much about being bad parents that they decide to wait, becoming the designated godparents/babysitters of the pantheon. (Bonus, they finally decide to have kids because one or more of the kids (Probably Ares and Aprodite's kid tbh) start calling them mom and dad.)

Apollo's a simp and a himbo so he's like ok but not cause I think you're hot. they fall in love and shit and they end up with twins and Eris is super worried that they'll get stuck with a rlly shitty like cause of her and Apollo's like 'its fine baby itll all work out' and it probably does. (Bonus part 2: for angst maybe Eris starts fading away bcuz there's not real need for true discord in the modern world and all the aspect of her can be taken up by her children, confirming her fears and making apollo feel like shit to cause thats his wife and wtf man)

Hera wants to refuse to have kids with zeus but family and marriage and shit so that kid is kinda fucked from the get go.

Hermes never had kids himself but he took in anyone looking to get away from a bad situation.

Hephaestus wanted kids but never got to have them :(

Mom is true vampire, and Dad is turned, and Mom doesn't have much compassion. Also it's fun to see two characters with different worldviews interact. Like, I mean Dad thinks J killed the girl from the beginning, while J doesn't know how the girl died.

The importance of a personal practice and not following blindly what others say

I got covid at christmas dinner with my fam, how’s that. Anyways, because of it i have connected more with Apollo because of his health aspect and after researching a bit for adding to my grimoire I read many posts saying how they couldn’t worship their deities properly because they saw everyone doing it in a certain way so that made them compare themselves with that certain everyone and made them insecure about their practice...

Which is a mood tbh.

And I feel I have said so many times the same thing on my posts but I will dedicate one just for this, do what it feels right for you and remember social media is fake. So, first, with the social media thing, some of your favorite bloggers or whatever you follow regarding your worship most of the times won’t tell you when they fuck up. I personally don’t sit everyday and say “oh this last month I didn’t move a finger for my worship because of x and x reason” because I don’t feel the need of sharing it, and I know many others who feel the same. 

Imagine this hypothetical scenario. Your mom asks you how you’re doing at school, work, college, whatever and you’re doing really bad because of x reason. The probability you will open up and be honest is very low, we all probably want to say “i’m doing great, achieving all my goals, etc” so when we are not we just rather avoid it. The same happens with worship. There will be exceptions of posts in which we say we fucked up in certains ways, but that wont be constant because the human race has been known for not accepting their mistakes, who would be proud of them tbh.

This leads me to my next point which is don’t be scared to fuck up, the fact that you don’t see everyone messing up doesn’t mean it’s not common to do so... I’m pretty sure everyone has had their downs when it comes to worshipping, the important part is to be able to recover and do something about it. Find a way of worship you feel comfortable with, not a way of worship someone else feels comfortable with.

If there’s something I really like about Hellenism and Paganism in general is how personal the practice can be, there is not a book full of rules to follow, they are just some ground rules and from that you can create your own beautiful practice that fits into your lifestyle and way of living your religious aspect of life. 

So please, don’t compare yourself to people on social media and the way they practice, that’s their personal way that fits into their lifestyle not yours.

4 Anti LO Asks

1. like ok, a character doesnt need to be super specific in what they like, but its just weird persephone has nothing? like we saw her read what, three times? ad she played chess once? but thats it? but shes still not fleshed out. we dont know her actual likes, her dislikes, her interests and hobbies and the life. even bella swan had specific books and music she liked, meanwhile persephone has nothing? its odd its been going for nearly 4 years and she's still so undeveloped after all this time.

2. So, in regards to LO and 'purity culture' I feel like RS either doesn't understand the concept very well or just doesn't care?? At least in terms of how she presents her work.

So, RS said somewhere (I think) that she wants LO to be seen as progressive and feminist and that LO is supposed to be a commentary on modern society and how young women / girls face the pressures of purity culture - and yet...

From a storytelling pov - Persephone and Hades are both dressed as a bride and groom constantly (or are made to wear similar styles and colors that mimic this idea) - and perhaps the color white has a different signifiicance in Greek culture (if anyone knows, feel free to jump in) - but in American culture at least its a symbol of virginity, purity, goodness etc. (Lets just ignore the racial undertones for a second there).

Also storywise Persephone only seems allowed to be attracted to Hades (in a good light, in contrast to say, Ares and her interactions with him) because Hades is her future husband and vice versa she is his future wife.

So theres some implications there along with some undertones about how the only 'good' man that persephone is allowed to like, flirt with, have experience with is the man who will eventually become her husband.

Also, (I dont know how to explain this well) but the only other 'romantic' relationship / experience Persephone has is with Apollo (who is a rapist).

So with the purity culture commentary in mind it seems like RS wants to say that women should be allowed to explore their sexuality and dress how they want etc etc but the message then becomes rather flat because RS seems to be inadvertently leaning into those ideas - such as having Persephone dress as a bride (and have white - a symbol of purity - be her 'signature color' and only allowing Persephone to have positive interactions with the man who will become her husband. Every other male character serves to push her into the arms of 'the allowed / chosen / true one' for her. She doesnt get to have any other options in regards to partners. She has no other experience with dating or romance other than the guy she's supposed to / allowed to be with and the man who raped her.

So it seems like RS is trying to make a commentary on purity culture and how it can effect young women/girls and such but the message just seems to fall flat because the writing seems to state otherwise.

Persephone is good and pure (if not naive) and so she is cloaked in a sense of childish awe at 'the real world' and she grows up sheltered yet has everything nearly handed to her on a plate. She is a future queen and bride to be so she wears a virginal white.

The problem I see is that there's too many clashing ideals and visual metaphors trying to be turned on its head.

3. i dont like the idea hades and persephone should have kids (punderworld and theia mania comics avoid it, hxp ficlets and mythos redone did include kids as background) but if lo has them have kids when persephone is still basically a kid herself and tbh doenst seem to want any based off her nightmares of pregnancy thatll be so bad?? at least the above comics all made a point their persephones are many centuries old w/ lives before hades, not barely 20 who only left her mom's house a month ago 🙃

4. Wait, was the goddesses of eternal maidenhood plot supposed to be the anti- purity culture stuff? Cause like.... Isn't it pro-female sexuality for a bunch of goddesses to reject sex by their own choice? Isn't the point of it to be able to chose to be sexual if you want to? Is the message here really "YOU MUST BE SEXUALLY AVAILABLE TO A MAN OR YOU'RE NOT FEMINIST"??? Cause that message is very, VERY ace-exclusionary.

it's not really a theory but I've said it a million times that there's never needed to be a group of 7. ultimately the prophecy only named 2 things, but 5 is a lot more flexible with the other lines.

anyway this opinion has been cultivated over the past few months so there's different variations, but here's my current thoughts on the lines of prophecy:

doors of death makes the most sense for hazel, considering she's pluto and she was literally dead. 'foes bear arms' reminds me of frank, the mars kid who is the only one who has lasting conflict with a greek (leo) in the series, but also the warring gods in his head!!!! if you want, u can consider franks shape shifting as a connection to monsters. additionally, his stick ties him to doors of death even more so

tbh, i have rewritten hoo a LOT of times in a LOT of ways in my head. i think annabeths quest is AMAZING and i love it a lot, but it's also not related to the great prophecy. (also unrelated but it makes more sense 2 me that reyna had that quest but that's a different post) i think the best way to handle percy/annabeth is by having them be older mentors who then disappear (tartarus) and the 5 need to figure things out on their own.

as a group, these 5 make more sense anyway: piper/leo are greeks, hazel/frank are romans, and jason is stuck in the middle as reluctant leader. there's a million ways those 5 could have conflict (like leaving nico in the jar? pipers reluctant love vs franks reluctant war? jasons loyalty? mom issues? fire vs stick? sammy if u will). there's just so much there ALREADY that when riordan added the other two, he failed to pay attention to what needed attention— the new and very engaging characters!!!!

percy and annabeth would've been great mentors (maybe) who now feel the frustration of luke and recognizing these kids are so young. in the way percy passes the series off to apollo in toa, is how i think hoo should've went. but ah well, i didn't write hoo. there's a million ways to rewrite hoo but i always felt this was a stronger way

Ok my friend @theevanparker has a separate HC on that. It’ll be better if they explain this cuz mine is a bit more complicated.

1) Just going to clarify and say that he can have multiple kids at a time (then he goes on haitus for 20 years lmao) HOWEVER Eros kids have a low survival rate, most of em die even before they are born (this it is related to the people Eros had children with, they are often dumped harshly and left with a lot of turmoil). Seb and Lisel were the only ones that survived that year.

^ About the Psyche blessing thing…I have no clue what to say cuz that wasn’t my HC and was made by @theevanparker . I am only limited to Sebastian and his version of an Eros Kid. If u want Lisel’s version then Evan’s your person to talk to!!

All I can say is that it probably had to do with the fact that when seb and Lisel were conceived. Them being born so early caused some confusion. BUT! in my OC!Canon Sebastian’s mother hid from Psyche thinking she was going to kill her and take away the child.

2) Yep emotions are a burden but thanks to the blessing they have some of it under control. In Seb’s case he is completely oblivious. There are two reasons he became a serial killer:

As I had mentioned before. He has this weird goal to prove that he’s strong despite being a kid of the Love god. Also his first kill was his cabinmate, and in midst of hiding his crime the emotion of fear/anxiety was triggered. Of course Seb didn’t know what this feeling was and couldn’t process it but whatever it was, it felt good. So Seb kept wanting to feel it, since this was the first time he showed signs of any emotions.

Sebastian always wants to be entertained. He was bored with his life. And he finds a certain thrill in killing Romans, one: because of the ancient rivalry, two: it triggers fear in him of getting caught and being punished (as stated above). Maybe also likes how infamous he is.

(TL;DR: He got hella bored and drunk on fear)

3) Yeah I know about Hedone!! But she doesn’t have much involvement in the plot so I don’t quite mention her here. Yep it’s exactly how you said she’s kind like her mother but sassy like her dad so she loves her half siblings (it gets quite lonely in the palace and the company is great, except on family game nights 💀) but does often show her discomfort when they are being too feral.

She thinks Seb is way too much of a menace and threat, however does not approach him cuz he’s scary ASF. She’s only personally seen him as a baby (disguised as a nurse when he was born)

4) No tbh!! I hadn’t really thought about this but it’s a great idea!!!! Also adds a new level of irony on Seb and Octavian’s relationship!!!!

I think not but he sure does love pissing them off since they seem to show a greater reaction than others. No intentions of murder but if they are Romans then he’s gonna bring out the stabby stick.

What the frack w. Lore Olympus?

So apparently Lore Olympus is the Hazbin Hotel of webcomics with some people dying by it’s cause and gushing over it obsessively and some people hating it with a burning passion like what’s going on?

I mean - I certainly have criticisms I could dish out.

I’m a PersepHades-shipper of a sterner taste: I like showing they aren’t a PERFECT couple and I prefer no Greek God being made into the defacto good guy or the defacto bad guy. And if there is a twist where a god is unrealistically cruel I want it explained in universe (I promise I won’t get into gushing about Hadestown, k? We can’t all be Hadestown...)

I originally liked Lore Olympus’ Hades a lot but now I think they’re making him too much of a pwecious cinnamon roll. Persephone has gradually become more of my fav on account of her being more interesting and not a walking moe-fantasy.

It’s Apollo I’m not down with....

Minthe you can muck up all you want because she has 0 personality in the og mythology but Apollo is made into stalkeryrapistmccreepershitter because...ugh...well we needed SOMEONE to be it and I guess Apollo is just there. So okay how come we can’t delve into how psychologically damning and rapey Zeus and Poseidon are (Poseidon straight up RAPED PERSEPHONE’S MOM)? How come ARES is a quirky-jerky and not an ax -crazy lunatic all the other gods hate? WHY DO WE EVEN NEED A DEFINITIVE BAD GUY? Why are we making said bad guy A RAPIST?!?!?! Can’t Apollo just be a jerk ass romantic rival and NOT a rapist because um holy shit that’s going from 0 to 30 on the “need character to make romantic tension-a thing” scale.

 One reason so many people like Hades is because western media has made him a villain, when of course, the og mythology wasn’t like that: When you’re a brainy prepubescent nerd learning that the blue guy from Hercules just wanted to be loved and how he mostly keeps to himself where it’s HIS BROTHERS who are the rapey jerks who cheat on their kidnapped wives - you just go “Baaaaaaawww” and make all this sappy HadesxPersephone fan art. I’ve been there. I know it.

And I guess that’s my problem...I don’t like one god being singled out and being made into the bad guy (not just a bad guy, a rapist) because we need a bad guy. I think I’d honestly just have preferred Apollo be a cliche romantic rival.

I DID think it was effective early on with Apollo thinking he and Persephone were a thing and not understanding what he did or how she felt. BUT THEN they dialed it up to 11 with him and ruined what I thought was a very mature and much needed take on the subject.

Still I give LO credit where credit is due:

- I love it’s art style

- I don’t mind it being an office drama/romantic comedy. Not the first or last time ppl have done that. I prefer these kind of stories avoid making things petty or amping up the drama and for the most part LO joshes that.

- The writers know their Greek mythology and are purposefully making these calls to said characters. This is why stuff like Apollo and Hades piss me off, where the extra bits like Persephone’s name and Helios’ bit are pretty cool.

- FROM PERSEPHONE’S PERSPECTIVE (again, best character) the sexual-abuse and nature of relationships is very well written and you can’t not feel for her. It’s a realistic take for survivors abuse but tbh feels more like what an edgy fan fic writer’s idea of a rapist is rather than a more realistic take like the rest of the comic is with it’s characters. Point being: if it isn’t it bad taste it CLASHES too much with the tone of the rest of the comic.

I like how LO is the antithesis of Fifty Shades of Grey by basically being about how Hades and Persephone don’t want a squicky-authority-subbordinate relationship. Nice to address he feels weird being into a much younger woman which so few stories like this do - if not fetishize it.

It is nice seeing Hera get some better representation. Even when ppl show Zeus’ bad side they tend to make Hera JUST a harpy wife when ugh god the feminist discussions you could have about her ~ *swoon*

Hades’ hair is reminding me of James from Pokemon.

Okay so I didn’t even know Apollo was bi. Sorry bi folk. Other than that though I’m really not on board calling this comic SO HOMOPHOBIC. Like the worst thing about it is there’s hardly any gay representation at all. When I think “well intentioned by unfortunately stereotyping” I again think Hazbin or Satellite City. I don’t think Lore Olympus. But hey you are talkin to an...aro(?) person here. Maybe I’m not the best judge.

I finished the Titans Curse

Ok so i finished the Titans Curse. Its been a week but here are a few things I thought were interesting when I reread it. (Long post under the cut)

-Percy and Thalia are Very similar to each other. In the Sea of Monsters, Annabeth claims that they would either be best friends, or worst enemies. Its a little bit of both. They are friends, but they clash a LOT, and they can clash HARD, like in capture the flag.

-Percy is more than a little jealous of Thalia for being looked to as an example, because he was used to being in that position for two years now.

-BABY NICO AND BIANCA DIANGELO

-Nico is super baby and still plays Mythomagic. He’s described as being very annoying a few times by Percy. He even asks Percy if he can surf really well.

-Thalia really doesn’t like the hunters until later in the book

-Thalia is afraid of heights.

-I think this book has more Godly Intervention then any of the others? Correct me if I’m wrong, but we get Artemis, Apollo, Dionysus (Who is actually useful twice), Ares, Aphrodite, and Athena, all playing some part in the quest (Not counting all others we meet at Olympus) Like, thats a lot guys

-Annabeth is only in the book for like, 2 chapters until the very end

-Percy just. Goes on side quests to help the Hippocampi a lot. I’m imagining him just sneaking off whenever they need help, or just using it as an excuse whenever he’s not where he’s supposed to be.

-”Where have you been Percy? You were supposed to be on kitchen duty!”

“I- uh the Hippocampi needed my help, there was a dolphin stuck in a net that they needed me to free. Poseidon stuff.”

-No one is able to call him out on it because no one knows when he’s being truthful or not.

-Speaking of quests, Percy just straight up leaves camp and follows the quest group until they're too far from camp to deny his help.

-Riptide originally belonged to Zoe Nightshade, who gave it Hercules.

-Percy has the Nemean lion pelt for half the book, until he sacrifices it to Poseidon so Grover and Bessy can get to camp safely

-Poseidon gives Percy the saltwater fountain in his cabin as a means to contact his family.

-Did I mention the fight between Thalia and Percy after capture the flag? Because it is awesome. Page 87-88 if you want to reread it. Percy literally levitates the entire creek to throw at Thalia, but gets distracted before he can. Chiron just yells at them to stop but nether of them are in the mood to listen to him

-Have I mentioned Blackjack? Becuse Blackjack

-Also Rachel Elizabeth Dare

-Paul Blofis is a thing, and I love him

-Percy is thrown off by Paul at first, but is 100% chill with his mom dating because it makes her happy.

-Bessie just like... appears in the Hoover Dam and Percy doesn’t mention it to anyone? Like I feel like thats something important to mention. Seaweed Brain indeed.

-Nico had nightmares about Bianca dying before Percy told him. Not only that, but he could sense exactly where she was in the underworld.

-Nico made the ground eat three of the skeletal warriors pursuing Percy. We don’t really know what happened to the others. Did they give up? Were they destroyed? we don’t know.

-Nico left camp via the Labyrinth, but we don’t get confirmation of this until the next book

[ DAVIKA HOORNE , SHE/HER, DEMIGIRL ]  —  [ DAPHNE SAENGMAI ]  is a grandchild of  [ HECATE & ATHENA ]  with the power of  [ MAGIC ] .  they were born in  [ 1993 ]  and have been in nemean lion since  [ 2004-2015 & 2020 ] .  with the change, they  [ HAVE GRADUATED FROM ]  the  [ BUSINESS ]  role which makes sense since they’re usually  [ IN HER OFFICE & BOSSING PEOPLE AROUND ]

she’s a grandchild of hecate & athena. 

one thing u gotta kno about daphne is that she just doesn’t care!!!!! alright well she does care a little but mostly doesn’t! everything reflects back on her so she has to pretend she does. 

so back in the day her mom lou had a half sister (also hecate) and she died but her ghost/spirit whatever stayed roaming the earth and lou kind of trapped her bc she was p vengeful n angry! then daphne as born and named after her aunt and then lou agreed to let ghost daphne stay in babie daphne’s body if she dedicated herself into protecting lou’s daughter and ya so alive daphne has a ghost named daphne living inside of her and she has random knowledge and memories that aren’t hers and if you hear daph talking to herself she probably actually isn’t lmaooo 

also her magic is stronger than it’s supposed to be bc of it. 

anyway ok so daphne got the call from her mom that it was time for her to take the ceo position at nl and let me tell u!!!! she cried for like 10 min on the phone and then her mom was like r u done being dramatic and she was like ya but also i want an ice rink (she did figure skating growing up and wanted to persue a career but :/) and i’ll go quietly and her mom was like ok deal. she’s been gone the past 5 years so if your chara has been here longer feel free to assume they know each other p well or hmu!! either way everyone should know daph even if it’s a new acquaintance bc she’s in charge and she’s good w names and faces.  i can’t explain her daphne is j daphne have fun teehee

I've seen a couple of these going around, and I decided to try one :)

Percy Jackson rates the greek gods:

Zeus: 3/10. He wanted me dead since he learned of my existence. Doesn't let me go in the sky, not even for travel with airplanes, which would've made some of my quests significantly easier.

Hera: 0/10. I wanted to give her negative infinity, but Grover talked me out of it (Annabeth was all for it tho). She makes my girlfriend regularly step in cow poop, she kidnapped me and gave me amnesia.

Poseidon: 9/10. He was absent for the first 12 years of my life, and when I first met him he told me he was sorry I was born. But he also said he was proud of me? Anyways, since then he's been a lot better, by sending me the best brother I could ask for, helping me out of quests, showing up for my birthday, and even sticking his neck out for me (and Bessie) infront of the other Olympians. Great dad. Also a great sense of humor.

Hades: 6/10. He kidnapped my mom, but returned her unharmed. He was an arguably not so great father to Nico. Later on he got Nico to imprison me, which isn't so great. But he did show up and help me defend Manhattan despite the other gods treating him like the black sheep.

Demeter: 7/10. I haven't spoken to her much? But she hasn't interfered with my life (other than suggesting I eat more cereal) like some other goddesses *cough* Hera *cough* so I guess shes alright.

Hermes: 8/10. Without Hermes' help, I'd probably be a hamster stuck in some poor child's or teachers class. Out of all the Olympians (aside from Poseidon) I've spoken to him the most, and he's also been one of the most helpful. He helped me understand why my dad was so distant, and he got me out of a sticky situation when I forgot that it was our (Annabeth and I) 2nd month anniversary. He did try to smite me that one time... but tbh I was out of line. We made up shortly after.

Apollo: 7/10. He’s alright. Even though he was just doing it for Artemis, he still helped me out a lot on my quest to find/save Annabeth and Artemis. He also offered me a ride on his chariot and archery lessons, but I doubt Zeus will let me get that high up. Also I suck at archery big time.

Artemis: 7/10. She’s pretty cool, and very reasonable compared to the rest of the gods and goddesses. She made Thalia immortal, and saved Annabeth from being crushed under the sky.

Dionysus: 5/10. He pretends not to know my name and is frankly a horrible camp leader. However, when I absolutely NEED him on quests, he does help out and remember my name.

Hestia: 10/10. Amazing. Just amazing. Need I say more??

Aphrodite: 4/10. Stop! Meddling! With! My! Love! Life! Stop influencing people to get crushes on me! I don't want my life to be any more 'interesting.' Seriously, Annabeth and I have been through enough.

Ares: 1/10. You remind me of every bully and abusive ass I've met in my entire life. Not to mention, you bullied Clarisse during her quest to get the golden fleece because I embarrassed you.

Athena: 6/10. She's wanted me dead for most (if not all) of my life. To be fair, I understood where she was coming from, but still ouch. She doesn't really approve of my relationship with Annabeth, and once erupted into a smoldering flame that nearly singed my eyebrows off. Also she was pretty mean to Annabeth when pressuring her to find her Statue. Buttttt she's also my future mother in law so I have to be nice...
