#as someone who loves merida to death. he would not be merida

I kind of like the idea of the Big Four. Four main characters with similar problems and goals. The plot focuses on platonic relationships, not romantic ones. The characters are independent of each other and equally interesting… In general, it would be cool to write something silly about the adventures of Merida, Hiccup, Rapunzel and Jack.
But I can't get rid of the feeling that Hiccup wouldn't be a full-fledged member of this company. We have Rapunzel, who has the ability to gather people around her – she made friends with a pack of robbers, arranged dances in the city and promoted the truce of Eugene and Maximus. We have Merida, which would be nice to see in a friendly relationship – "Brave" was completely focused on family ties. We have a lonely Jack who desperately wants to be part of the group – at first, Jack was rude to the Guardians only because they tried to make him a pawn in the war with the Pitch Black; when their relationship began to warm up, Jack wanted to become his own. These three have a well-prepared ground for close friendship. But what about Hiccup?
Contrary to popular belief, Hiccup's loneliness is not negative. This is not forced loneliness, like Jack or Rapunzel. Yes, he was ostracized and wanted to be accepted, but after getting what he wanted, Hiccup did not become the soul of the company. Instead of fighting for the black sheep with other Hooligans Hiccup prefers to do what he loves. Alone. Leaving Berk for costume testing and mapping, Hiccup and Toothless do not invite anyone with them (according to Dean Deblois, Astrid often traveled with them, but she does not look like a person who needs an invitation).
The Big Four can do common business be interested in similar things. They could do internships abroad together, ride motorcycles, search the Egyptian pyramids and the like. The fact is that Hiccup would prefer to do it alone (or with Toothless). Instead of participating in motorcycle racing, he enjoys speed and solitude. In the middle of the night, he has crazy ideas, and he leaves the house on tiptoe so as not to wake the others. Because he knows that they will immediately run after him.
Someone might object that Hiccup fits in well with the Viking gang (Astrid, Snotlout, twins and Fishlegs). The fact is that they have a "team" friendship rather than a "family" one. They don't really share each other's interests. They became friends not because they are similar, but because they were brought together by the struggle with the Red Death. It's not bad, it's just what it is.
I see the Big Four more disconnected than we used to think. We have Hiccup, who decided to pull off another adventure alone. We have Jack, Rapunzel and Merida who pick up on this idea. A little rivalry, if you like.

marauders era girls as disney princesses (+ two others)
because there is simply not enough about these girls in the fandom
narcissa black | mulan
narcissa is a survivor first and foremost and a slytherin all the way. mulan seems like a gryffindor at first glance - running away into battle and defying the role laid out for her, she seems more like sirius than narcissa - but she’s also doing this for her family, for her father, which is literally what narcissa is all about. the song honor to us all gives such narcissa vibes to me. the quiet but still fierce girl that turns into a soldier for her family.
andromeda black | jasmine
this one is more obvious. young princess sick of the world she’s stuck in falls in love with someone far below her station who teaches her about world outside the palace. andromeda and ted tonks anyone? plus jasmine is plenty sneaky and does what needs to be done.
bellatrix black | merida
bella was difficult for me to decide but i chose merida because they’re both headstrong but still care about their families. bella is the only named female death eater and pure blood daughters were expected to be trophy wives, she didn’t exactly fit the mold did she? merida refuses to be contained and i see bellatrix, especially young bella, in her.
pandora rosier | snow white
i always imagine pandora as kind of dreamy. intelligent obviously, but she’s definitely where luna got some of her personality from. she seems like someone who would be content in nature and appreciate the little things, and i feel like she would resonate with snow white.
dorcas meadowes | elsa
dorcas very much strikes me as an independent woman. she has her soft spot (marlene) like elsa does anna, but she’s not afraid to be her own person. i can also definitely see her needing to find herself like elsa does, especially when she finds herself on the opposite side of there war from her best friends.
marlene mckinnon | moana
marlene is definitely a gryffindor. she’s wild and free and does what makes her happy. i can definitely see moana’s free spirit in her and the determination to do what’s right, even when it’s not the easy thing **cough cough facing down a bunch of death eaters on her own**
lily evans | belle
i feel like this one is obvious. lily loves learning and she’s good at it. she reminds me of belle so much. girl ends up with a guy pining after her who she hates but eventually realizes that he’s not so bad once she gets to know him. like please, that’s literally jily. lilys also really headstrong and will do what she thinks is right, just like belle.
alice fortescue | tiana
alice was also a little difficult for me just because i feel like we don’t know that much about her. but she just gives me such tiana vibes. i feel like she’s definitely hardworking, i mean she becomes an amazing auror soon after graduating hogwarts. she’s kind, but won’t take anybody’s shit.
mary macdonald | anna
i feel like mary is just the kindest soul ever and will help anyone who needs it unless they give her a reason not too. she’s the friend that won’t stop reaching out to you if you’re being self destructive and trying to ice everyone out (see what i did there). her heart is huge and she sees the good in people.
+2
sirius black | ariel
classic kids rebelling against their parents and what they’ve been taught their whole life about the people who are different than them.
harry potter | anastasia
child is separated from the world they were born into when their parents meet an untimely death at the hands of enemies. when they’re older, they discover their true identity (i didn’t realize i needed a harry potter anastasia au until now).

Note
Love the evil boyfriends content. Gives me twisted Gomez and Morticia vibes.
How about Nathmarc in a Descendants AU or Ever After High AU?
Royals:
Marinette: Mulan
Adrien: Aurora (Canon confirmed it)
Alya: Tiana
Nino: Genie (He would break the 4th wall)
Kim: Raya (She’s South Asian)
Max: Moana (… He’s gonna be half Polynesian, just go with it)
Juleka: Snow White
Rose: Prince Charming
Chloé: Cinderella
Sabrina: Merida
Ivan: Belle
Myléne: Rapunzel
Alix: Alice
Lila: Pinocchio
Rebels:
Nathaniel: Queen of Hearts
Marc: Evil Queen
Aurore: Yzma
Cosette: Cruella De Vil
Reshma: Maleficent
Ismael: Gaston (You can imagine how thrilled Gaston was when Ismael said he was his son)
Simon: Madame Medusa
Denise: Dr. Facilier
Lacey: Mother Gothel
Mireille: Hades
Jean: Ursula
Zoé: Anastasia Tremaine
Austin T: Jasmine
Austin A: Captain Hook
Austin B: Robin Hood
Austin Q: Peter Pan
So, Nathaniel’s in the same class as the Royals for some reason
Caline, one of the 12 good fairies from the original sleeping beauty story is adamant on all children following their destinies, no matter how awful or disturbing
She constantly pressures the other rebels into accepting their fates, not caring that Reshma gets stabbed, Marc gets trapped in a mirror, Aurore lives out the rest of her days as an animal, Cosette gets put in an asylum, Ismael falls to his death, Simon gets mauled by his crocodiles, Denise spends the rest of their life as a shadow, Lacey dies of old age in a really bad way, Jean gets skewered, Zoé has her eyes pecked out, Mireille gets dragged into River Styx, and Nathaniel’s subjects eventually rise up and decapitate him
“All is necessary for the royals to have their happily ever after.”
And the Royals are completely oblivious to the truth because she’s been sugarcoating a bunch of shit and try to push the Rebels to accept fate
That, or they know what happens to the Rebels *cough* Marinette *cough*, they just don’t care and want them to conform to that whole destiny BS
Alix, Nino, and Adrien are teetering to the Rebels side because Alix is tired of being labeled a flighty drunk because of her mom, Nino doesn’t want to be trapped in the lamp, and we know what went down in Sleeping Beauty. (And it CAN happen to men, so shut up!)
Marinette is constantly trying to get Nathaniel riled up so he’ll act like his mother, but he remains refined and poised every time
Someone even goes so far as to spray mercury on him so he’ll become deranged. Fortunately, Marc and Aurore had antidotes on hand
Nathaniel is sort of the unspoken leader of the Rebels since he was the first student in years to not sign the Storybook of Legends on Legacy Day while Marinette is the leader of the Royals since she’s all about following Destiny
Most of the Royals are just a little misguided and don’t want anything bad to happen to the Rebels, but they’ve been fed the Disneyfied renditions
… Also, the Storybook of Legeneds is a fake, the Queen of Hearts hid it back when she was a student, a Royal straying to the Rebels side hides it when they find it, and it ends up in Wonderland… Back to the story!
DuPont is a dormitory school, two to a room, and since Marinette’s mom is on the school board, Damocles gives her a say in who’s assigned to which dorm because he’s still a coward. Of course, she has villains and heroes in the same story assigned together
The Villain Rebel students are encouraged to cheat in classes, use any powers they have on the students, and poison some of the Royals… No one sees how wrong that last thing is? Okay.
Marc’s dorm room only has one mirror, surprisingly. Nathaniel constantly tells him he’s the Fairest, so he has no need for more
He and Juleka are good friends and neither one wants Marc to be trapped in the mirror at the price of Juleka getting her Destiny
Adrien and Luka Piper (half sister of Juleka) are secretly dating
Denise can hear the narrators on the Other Side… No, not that Other Side, the other Other Side. You know, the one with the voices and the people with no faces.
Lila is constantly causing discord among the Royals and Rebels. And thanks to a spell she found, she can lie without her nose growing longer

132 Thoughts I Had While Watching: The School For Good and Evil (2022)
Tumblr media
Jesper, what are you doing here, and why is there two of you?
And where is your accent?
One of you is evil and one is goo - oh, the title makes sense now.
“I prefer chaos.” I mean we all love a bit, buddy, but you’re going too far.
And bad guy fell off a cliff and died a tragic death, the end.
Look at this ballroom.
CATE BLANCHETT IS THE NARRATOR? I LOVE THIS ALREADY.
Hey, it’s Lydia from Beetlejuice!
That cottage is so pretty, I wanna live there so bad.
Agatha makes me feel so much more confident with my Merida hair.
She has a cat named Reaper, and lives by a graveyard? That’s adorable.
“Hey, Ugly.” Dude, have you looked in a mirror?
Deville’s? Like Cruella Deville?
I love how people can call this girl a witch while she pets a baby goat.
It’s spelt Deuville? Why does that look prettier?
Wait, Cinderella exists in this universe?
“It’s a place that cannot be found, except by those who know where it is.”
“I want much more than this provincial life,” ~ Sophie, definitely.
You’re going out into the woods late at night? Are you crazy?!
Yep, girl is delulu. (That’s apparently a word now.)
That bird kinda gives me Alice in Wonderland vibes.
Wait, they got the schools mixed up? Princess and the Pauper, anyone?
How To Lose a Girl in Five Seconds: Tell her her hair looks like cake.
So this is basically Descendants?
“It’s cleaner than my own hand, trust me.” ~ an actual quote.
Okay, but why does the Never school look cooler?
The Groom Room? Oh, I get it you groom yourself to look pretty.
AHH, THEY’RE PLAYING SLEEPING BEAUTY MUSIC!!!!!
You know, I don’t blame Agatha, some clothes can be itchy.
I thought Hort would be Diaval’s son. Not Captain Hook’s.
If you don’t know who that is, go watch Maleficent, please.
Sword and dance routine? Get it? Instead of song and -- nevermind.
“The brave prince charming approaches!” ~ Sophie, maybe
Actually, he’s King Arthur’s son.
Yep, this is basically Descendants.
Fire for the fire god.
Agatha, you need some confidence.
Laurence Fishburne? I swear you’re EVERYWHERE.
“Cool, I get a whole room to myself.” ~ Agatha, maybe.
We even have the daughter of the Sheriff of Nottingham??
Agatha, you should have known the statues would come to life.
Wait, I thought Evil Jesper was dead?
Oh, it’s some weird hallucination thingy.
There’s evil and there’s threatening to drop someone from a building.
Learn to tell the difference.
Find the school master and plead their case, yup sounds SUPER easy.
“You know we can hear you narrating, you weirdo!” ~ An actual quote.
The narrator is a pen?
True love’s kiss can break the spell.
I LOVE THE SONGS IN THIS!!!
There’s an ugly class and beauty class?
You fail if no one asks you to the ball? Guess that counts me out.
Hold on, is that Michelle Yeoh? THIS CAST IS AWESOME!
Gregor Charming is kinda cute.
Poor guy is queasy around blood? I mean.... same.
Why’s Sophie’s vanity kind of annoying?
There’re people living in the trees!
See? Tedros loves to hear her talk about cats?
Did he say “open the effing door?” or am I going crazy.
Gregor, you need a dash of good luck.
Gnome humour is funny, guys, admit it!
Gregor, NO!!!!!!!!!!! You were the only character I liked in this movie.
Hort grew one chest hair in magic class. Good for you, buddy.
HOLY -- THIS GIRL CAN MAKE HER DRAGON TATTOO COME ALIVE!
IT’S ACTUALLY COMING OUT OF HER SHOULDER!
Girl is wacko!
Oh, but Evil Jesper comes in surrounded by bees to save the day.
“Sophie, you’re not allowed to kill anyone until after graduation.”
Bees are my greatest fear, so uh, I’d be outta there in ten milleseconds.
This centuries old guy is weirdly into Sophie and I’m not sure I like that.
Wish Fish? It sounds cool, but I don’t trust it for some reason.
I kinda want the mean girls to fail. I know that’s not nice, but.....
Agatha wishes for hope and a person comes out of the lake?
It’s because of a girl that all the wishes are granted?
IT’S GREGOR, EVERYONE! HE’S THE BIRD -- AND HE’S DEAD.
Professor, she just saw her friend die, that’s what’s wrong with her!
Bad professor cut Sophie’s hair? I mean, not the worst that could happen.
Girl, calm down. At least you aren’t dead.
Rafal, dude, you gotta chill, friend. (Yeah, that’s Evil Jesper’s name)
She wants to kiss Tedros, but I think he likes Agatha.
Gonna admit, that dip was smooth.
A finger glow? A finger prick? LIKE SLEEPING BEAUTY!
Looks like it hurts. I’ll skip, thanks.
Sophie looks good with the glow up not gonna lie
YOU SHOULD SEE ME IN A CROWN!?
GUYS, GO LISTEN TO THIS SOUNDTRACK RIGHT NOW!
Sophie, Tedros is Aggie’s man. You’ve got golden retriever boy.
DARK HAIR, WHITE SHIRT, BLACK PANTS? THE DEADLY COMBO!
Aggie used her power to help her friend. She deserves better.
Everybody Loves Tedros, except for the other Nevers.
An Ever and a Never together? OH, THE HORROR!
Hold on, why are they all mad? Wouldn’t this unite the schools?
Never heard of a trial by tail before, or is it tale?
The trial begins at sundown instead of midnight? Nice switch.
Sending them into the forbidden forest? M’kay.
DO NOT THE FLOWERS!
“With the power of the finger glow, I save you!” ~ Tedros, maybe.
Is that a mace-wielding pumpkin-headed grim reaper?
The princess is going to save the prince? Interesting twist!
Pumpkin man just exploded. That’s gonna be messy!
Agatha saved them and this is the thanks she gets?
Agatha is the only one with any sense around here.
She wrote Sophie a letter, too. :’(
PLEASE TELL ME RAFAL DOESN’T KISS SOPHIE!
He’s centuries old and she’s seventeen at the oldest.
Rafal and the Evil Professor were a thing?
Agatha is the most devoted friend in the world.
I turned my back for one second and Sophie’s a witch???
Honey, we’ve all experienced heartbreak, but this is too much.
The Never Ball looks cool, to be honest.
I’m sorry, Sophie, I can’t take you seriously right now.
Okay, she changed back, but now she’s crazy.
You attacked them first.
A COVER OF TOXIC DURING A BATTLE SCENE??
Have I mentioned this soundtrack is freaking epic?!
This is the best scene in the whole movie.
Since when does Sophie have shape-shifting powers?
LAURENCE FISHBURN IS RAFAL?
Oh, he just shapeshifted into him after murdering him.
That’s where you’re wrong, my guy. I’m chaos!
Wait, he kissed Sophie?? I should have seen it coming but...
“My love?” Dude, what? SHE’S LIKE.... Seventeen, right??
AGATHA’S HERE TO SAVE THE DAY!
I TURNED AWAY FOR FIVE MINUTES AND SOPHIE’S INJURED.
THEY SAID THEY LOVE EACH OTHER!!!!!
TRUE LOVE’S KISS.
I’M NOT CRYING, YOU ARE!!!!
THE PROFESSORS ARE SO IN LOVE AND I’M HERE FOR IT!
Tedros and Aggie are separating??? Nooooo!
Well at least she and Sophie will be together.
It says they’re siblings in the book. DARN IT!!!!!
THERE ARE GONNA BE MORE MOVIES, THOUGH!!!
Staying for the ending credits visual and songs.

Open Heart Drabble - Ethan x Merida
Warnings & A/N: Silly squabbling. Just a little something I got stuck in my head about them when it comes to the hard parts of staying in love when the newness wears off.
Tumblr media
It’s easy some days. The early morning sunlight peeking in through their windows as they sip coffee quietly on the couch, so close to each other that their shoulder and legs touch. The morning news read in that quiet peaceful setting before they change and head to work together hand in hand. A soft kiss exchanged in the lobby as they part ways to find their own office and workload waiting for them.
And then there are days like today. Short tempers and long shifts that lead to sleepless nights. The sunlight coming through the window is blinding and only fuels their tempers. They argue over who is at fault for not setting the coffee maker up the previous night as they fight over the counter space in their bathroom. Bumping angrily into each other as they make their way down to their car for the silent drive toward the hospital.
“Have a good day,” she said trying to dispel a bit of the frustration in her voice.
“You too,” he responded and leaned down to kiss her quickly before they walked quickly away from each other.
“Ugh,” she sighed and rubbed her hands over her face as she fussed with the coffee machine in the diagnostic team’s office. Failing to get the pieces to fit together, she cursed.
“Are you angry at the machine or someone else?” Tobias asked as he took the pieces from her hand and fixed a cup of coffee for her.
“Thanks, Tobias,” she smiled tiredly as she takes a seat at her desk.
“Want to talk about it?” Tobias asked a few moments later as he set the steaming cup of coffee in front of Merida.
“Not really,” she groaned but let out a soft delighted moan as the first sip of coffee eased down her throat. “I needed this,” she smiled as she lifted the cup back to her lips. “Ethan didn’t set up the damn coffee last night even though he was home earlier than me and had half the shift schedule I’ve had this week. I just wanna punch him this morning. Or….”
“So I should take the budget request up to him then today?” Tobias chuckled.
“Oh my god! Would you?”
“If it saves the chief from death and the hospital from a murder investigation? Consider it done. Though for the record, I could help you hide the body, if that’s ever needed.”
“You’re the best,” she called out after him.
“I am, aren’t I?” he winked as he took the folder from her desk and walked out the door.
Days like this are hard. She sighs as she stands outside their door, keys in hand, steeling herself for whatever greets her tonight. But only a quiet and dark apartment waits for her. She tiptoes to their room and sees him under the covers and let’s put a sigh. Whether it’s one of resignation or indignation, she’s not sure. But she slips into her pajamas and into their bed.
He shifted and wrapped her in his arms. “Sorry about the coffee and not picking up some of the slack around here this week,” he whispered into the kiss he placed below her ear.
“You are forgiven. Sorry about Tobias,” she sighed contentedly as she snuggled further into his arms.
“Not sure that can be forgiven,” he chuckled. “Things got really awkward when he came with the budget you were supposed to bring and he insisted on joining me for the candlelit lunch I had ready for you and me.”
“You deserved it,” she laughed at the thought of Tobias insisting on the romantic candlelit lunch. “Maybe now you won’t forget my coffee,” she grinned as she shifted to face him. “I can’t believe Tobias didn’t say anything when he got back to the office.”
“I’m sure he’s waiting for the right time to share it… publicly,” Ethan sighed.
“True. I look forward to the day.”
“You would,” he laughed.
“We good?”
“Yes, we are,” he kissed her softly.
“Good,” she snuggled in.
He kissed her forehead and slipped out of bed as she looked up at him bewildered.
“I’ll be right back. Forgot something,” he assured her and she settled back under the covers.
“Ethan!” she giggled when she heard him at the coffee grinder in the kitchen setting up their morning coffee.

Okay but IF Feradach were at the door, what do you think he'd look like to Merida?
To Merida, I don't think he'd look like like much of anything. I think he'd be in his happiest, truest form: just barely air. And more than anything, he'd be a feeling. A feeling of familiarity, of comfort, of calmness, of joy. Because he told Merida she'd never see him again, and Feradach always stays true to his word, I don't believe he'd return to her in a physical form.
To everyone else he passes, though, he'd still look like someone different from each person's perspective. That wouldn't change.
But, what would Feradach look like to himself? I believe that after bringing ruin unto Merida in the form of heartbreak, Feradach took on the physical form of Merida, considering he only takes on the physical forms of those he brings ruin to. If he touches his face enough or if someone describes to him what he looks like, he's able to remember the memories of the ruin brought unto whatever physical form he's inhabiting. I feel as if he touches his face often as a means to remember Merida. And that he's afraid to look at his reflection because he knew that staring back at him would be the face of the woman he loved.
However, the Cailleach picks and chooses when to pull tricks on Feradach. Especially when he goes against his duty as the harbringer of ruin and stagnation in order for her to bring about change and life. IF Feradach were to go against his own rule of staying out of Merida’s sight as a means to maintain the balance of nature and humanity and as a means to bring eventual renewal to her, and therefore going against the Cailleach’s rules seeing as how she's the one who bestowed his duty upon him in the first place, and IF he were to try and see her face to face, I feel like Feradach would grow to like wearing Merida’s physical form, because before going to see her it was all he had left of her.
So, I feel like, IF Feradach were to knock on Merida’s door and Merida were to open it, I feel as if she'd be staring right back at herself. Almost like looking into a mirror. Because, Merida doesn't care what physical form he takes, his kindness and his internal air-like soul will always be Feradach. But, I don't feel like that's the reason why Merida would see Feradach as herself. I feel like the Cailleach would play another cruel trick on Feradach seeing as how he went against her rules of balancing the earth. So, only to Merida, Feradach would look like her.
It would be a sort of punishment from the Cailleach, but I feel like Merida wouldn't see it that way for some reason. A few times throughout the book, Merida says “so, one day you'll like like me and my family” and “so, one day, you may even look like me” in response to Feradach explaining how he wears the bodies and faces of those he brings ruin to. In the beginning of the book, Merida was thinking about how her name written backwards could be the name of her “shadow self.” This all essentially alludes to the idea of Feradach, a god of death and ruin, wearing the body and face of Merida. That's where my little theory comes from in case you were wondering, anon.

There once was a lass sent out to sea Ordered by the king to stay away from me A princess should not fall in love with a commoner and a thief. Ha! So I’ll sing a siren song In hopes one day she will come home With more than her weight in gold To take me father’s throne
***
So I accidentally ended up thinking up this big complicated AU for this post I saw a while back, AND I haven’t posted Moanida in a hot minute, so...it’s moodboard time!!!
Basically this is in an AU where Motunui is actually a fairly sizeable kingdom instead of a small island village...and Moana really is a princess here XD I imagine maybe the village grew larger and larger because Motunui was taking refugees from the other islands as the Great Darkness was consuming the land. There’s an ever-present sense of dread, and King Tui worries his kingdom’s days are numbered. He tries to proceed Business as Usual, though, not wanting to cause a mass panic among the people. Fortunately, the darkness and disease plaguing the seas has not yet reached Motunui, and food is plentiful. King Tui hopes they’ll be safe for a while yet.
Princess Moana’s whole life has been planned out for her--marry someone of high standing, produce an heir, someday take her father’s throne. She longs more than anything for adventure on the seas, and to save her kingdom from the encroaching darkness. She also finds herself yearning for meaningful connections outside her family, unsatisfied with the distant and formal relationship she has with the palace staff and her subjects. So many seem to other her due to her royal status, and she sometimes feels completely alone--even in a kingdom that reveres her. No one sees her as she is--not Princess Moana, daughter of King Tui, heir to Motunui, but merely Moana of Motunui.
As the darkness spreads, more refugees come in, and the kingdom grows. Fish aren’t as easy to come by as they once were, and resources grow tight as the mouths to feed increase.
Enter Merida.
It’s no surprise that as the kingdom grows, so does the criminal underbelly. When finery and jewelry from the palace begin to go missing, King Tui and Queen Sina wonder if the staff are in cahoots with someone unsavory. Upon searching the servants’ quarters, though, there is no evidence of any robbery or foul play.
When Moana starts seeing flashes of red out of the corner of her eye, and just out of reach around castle corridors, she thinks she’s imagining things. That is, until she walks into a drawing room and sees a scraggly redheaded girl in filthy street clothes attempting to climb out a 3rd-story window. In her scramble to escape, the intruder breaks the outside tree limb she was attempting to climb onto, and Moana hears a number of branches snapping and cursing in some strange, singsong accent. Both intrigued and amused, Moana runs to the floor below to make sure this poor unprepared thief doesn’t fall to her death.
Moana finds her hanging on a lower limb for dear life, tunic even more ripped and mouth spewing profanities that the princess is sure would make her blush--well, if she could understand any of them. Still laughing, she extends a hand to help the thief in through a lower window. The thief swats her arm away the first few attempts, but finally grabs her hand when the branch starts creaking a little too much.
Apparently this girl is so far into the criminal underworld that she has no idea who Moana is. The thief can tell she’s important--not everyone walks around in glimmering red-orange dresses and shiny shell and pearl-studded tiaras. She’s nobility of some kind for sure. But not a princess.
Regardless of her noble status, the thief girl has no interest in groveling, or begging Moana’s forgiveness. She’s quick to pull a weapon on the princess--a lethal-looking bow and arrow whose bad side Moana does not want to be on. The thief girl assures her that she’ll “shoot yeh right in yer pretty face if yeh even think about shoutin’!” Moana can’t hold back her laugh, and assures the thief she has no intention of shouting. Not when this is the most interesting thing that’s happened in months. Maybe even years--the castle has certainly never had thieves this brazen.
Moana takes the thief girl to her room to get her cleaned up; her parents are too busy managing the kingdom to pay much attention to what she’s doing, anyways. She puts her in cleaner servants’ clothes and finds a cloak to conceal her hair before sneaking her out a back door, extending an invitation to come visit sometime. The castle could do without a few pearls, Moana figures--that, and the thrill of abetting a criminal could make her princess life a little less dull.
Besides, meeting someone who has no idea who she is is a gift too precious to waste.
And so Moana takes to “accidentally” leaving many a palace window open, and many a door unlocked. Sure enough, the thief girl comes back--although she claims it’s only because Moana is “a wee soft little lamb who makes thievin’ far too easy!” Nonetheless, she’s quick to tell her story after little resistance.
Merida, Moana finds out her name is. She’s been on the run a long time--how long she won’t say, but from the rugged, toughened state of the girl, Moana imagines it’s plenty long enough for her to harden her edges and teach her how to take care of herself. She claims she doesn’t need anyone--and never has--but from the way she’s more than willing to have heart-to-hearts with a near stranger, Moana doubts that. It must be lonely in the thief world--always watching your back and never being sure someone won’t stab you in it. Moana gathers Merida has deemed her naïve enough to trust.
Moana is hardly naïve, but if that’s what it takes to believe she’s worth opening up to...so be it.
Merida, it turns out, is a runaway from a kingdom far, far away--oceans away, even. She never felt at home there. She always felt like she was being twisted into something she wasn’t--made to fit an image, with no one caring who she actually was. She took off, flitting from place to place. She pickpocketed enough to eat until Wanted posters of her adorned every wall in town--and only then would she vanish without a trace, off to change her name and her backstory for her next grand adventure.
Moana has a feeling that Merida isn’t making up the backstory this time, but she doesn’t say as much.
After a while, Moana admits her own malcontent. The kingdom only continues to grow as her parents do nothing about the encroaching darkness that leaves so many homeless in the first place. She tells of her strange connection with the ocean, and how sometimes the waves themselves would part for her as a child. She talks about how badly she wishes she could help, and how a strange green emblem from her late grandmother Queen Tala might be the key to everything.
Maybe it’s terrible to think, but Moana finds herself wanting to inherit the throne sooner. She really thinks she could do some good, and she’s determined to conquer the darkness and save the kingdom. Merida, she finds, could be a surprisingly big help--she’s tough, she can fight like no one’s business, and she’s lived among the downtrodden and destitute in the slums and knows firsthand the kind of life more and more will be condemned to if something is not done about the darkness. She’d make an excellent bodyguard, and could even help with law-making and battle strategy--she’s politically savvy in a way Moana didn’t expect.
Things shift between them after a while. There are more and more stolen touches during their meetings, more physical affection. Moana finds herself looking at Merida for longer than she means to. Merida brings her gifts and trinkets from the seedier markets royals don’t usually go to--tiny, pretty seashells, wildflowers from hidden crevices, knives that are usually considered “improper” for a young princess to use.
For the first time since Queen Tala--perhaps for the first time ever--Moana feels like someone sees her for who she truly is. Not a princess, not some otherworldly, ethereal authority to be worshipped, but just Moana.
And when Merida inevitably learns the truth of who her new luxuriously-clothed friend is, Moana is surprised to see she barely bats an eye. She shrugs, says “yeh, I figured you were someone important, from the way yeh dress like a fancypants. But yer not some self-righteous snob like the rest of them, so ah like yeh.”, and then moves on like nothing happened.
By the time Moana realizes she’s fallen in love, the palace staff have gathered there’s something suspicious about the princess sneaking out the back door as often as she does. Moana was just starting to be less cautious when King Tui walks in on her and Merida kissing.
The king is furious. No princess should grow feelings for a dirty peasant--and a criminal, at that. Although Merida is spared the noose, she is exiled from the island for good, given a ship and told to never return.
Before the thief is sent away, Moana is allowed one goodbye. Merida vows to come back one day--despite what Tui says--with her ship stuffed with treasure. She’s gotten a fruitful tip from the criminal underworld, and if all goes as planned, they should be able to buy the kingdom for themselves. Then, no one can stop them from being together--and, at last, conquering the creeping shadows.
In her absence, Moana writes Merida songs. Crude, scrawled haphazardly on palm paper, but full of heart. She shoves them into corked glass bottles before sneaking out and dropping them into the sea. Maybe they’ll never reach Merida...but then again, maybe they will.
The days without Merida drag, and Moana has never felt more alone. Nonetheless, she has faith that her love will return with riches, and the two of them will take the throne and save the land, just as they’ve always planned.

I am back on old fandoms and the bullshit they pulled, so here's a list of things that OUAT did that made the show awful and what they should have done instead:
- Graham's Death. He was so important to the story and should not have been killed that early+ he could have had so many interesting relationships like one with Ruby (platonic of course.) He could have been incredible as a actual wolf hunter and friend especially as someone who Ruby meet on her journey to embracing her own wolf. They could have worked together. He could have become a guardian of some sort for Henry and a useful ally.
- Doctor Hopper. I feel like he just disappeared? He was a great character with a moral compass. He was literally the closest Henry had to a parent as he was the only one to look out for him. And he was Henry's family for a while. Imagine him in season 2/3 with the whole pan and moral conflict.
- August. That whole storyline was so badly done. Also, he and Emma should have grown up as siblings. He was a great grey character and should have been portrayed as such with actually showing his guilt about everything if they went down the path of the OG show. They should have shown his developing relationship with Marko and Neal as well since he knew them before/during the course. He could have been incredible on Emma's journey.
- Cinderella from season 1? She just was never mentioned again. Show her as a background character. Generally most of the story lines in season 1 where never mentioned again which is a shame. They could have shown some of the characters just living their lives in the background.
- Dr. Whale. Did he ever make an appearance again? Probably not. He deserved it though. He was really intriguing in that whole villain/weird morally grey character arc. Plus that storyline with Ruby was going somewhere. And how come he was never brought in for all the dead bodies?
- Jefferson and Grace my beloved. They should have been mains. They deserved to be redeemed. Grace should have become a best friend of Henry because that's what he deserved all the seasons. Having another kid on some of the journeys would have been very interesting.
- Neal death was the dumbest decision the show runners ever made and they completely wasted his entire potential and ruined Rumple's storyline with it. He could have been a father to Henry without making him a love interest to Emma (I want to ship him with maybe Graham or Jefferson but that is just my headcanons.)
- Regina. Should have gotten ride of her in season 2 or 3. Awful character, rapist, abuser, mass murder and a bad mother at that. Literally one of the worst additions. Also bad villain.
- Pan's storyline. Peter Pan was the best villain on this show and they really just killed him off after a few episodes, completely didn't expend on his story at all and made him seem weak when he was more powerful than Regina and Rumple combined.
- Rumple. A wishy washy storyline with him after like season 3. I get they wanted to not make him a villain entirely but he wasn't really much of anything. Also if any villain deserved to be redeemed it was more him than Regina.
- Emma's magic powers. She should have absolutely trained on her own and had her powers gradually build up on her own without Regina's manipulation tactics. Also she should have never been a dark one.
- Mulan my beloved. This woman should have become a main and paired up with many more characters.
-Robin Hood. Man his storyline was just none existent? He only served as a lover for you know who and nothing more. He should have had a better backstory and more screen time also with mulan.
- Merida. Don't really remember much about her storyline but again should have become a main or at least side character for a season.
- Ruby should have been allowed to be a wolf more often and they should have used that side of her in the show.
- The whole Oz storyline? More depth please.

ROTBTD DnD AU
Technically I promised to get this out a lot earlier than now, but then college happened soooo here we are! Yay! (~ ̄▽ ̄)~
I’ve been meaning to write this AU for SO LONG and it wasn’t until I saw @sboochi‘s fan arts for this very same thing - which you can find here: (Rapunzel) (Merida) (Hiccup) (Jack) (All Together) (Short Comic) - that I decided this was the universe’s way of telling me I could no longer run from it.
Thanks to that the classes for these four are directly based off of sboochi's designs. Also shout out to this fan art by @melodramaticmelon for a Celtic-inspired Jack Frost and this fan art by @celialowenthal for Hiccup’s appearance.
What originally inspired this AU was the webseries Quincy’s tavern - he’s there on tiktok but I found him through youtube and I just couldn’t stop thinking of what would happen if these four met Quincy so that’s what this is! There’ll be a glossary in the end notes about the different foods and things mentioned here and also some headcanons my imagination decided to make while I wasn't paying attention.
Enjoy! (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧

In a realm of magic and mayhem, there was never a lack of interesting happenings. Live long enough, or go wandering far enough, and there would always be a guaranteed chance of stumbling upon the strangest characters reality had to offer.
Or one could simply walk into a decent tavern. Amazing the kinds of powers at work wherever there were many things going on in a busy place.
It was exactly why anyone who owned a tavern was never one to be messed with. Ever. Didn’t matter how friendly they were, if they could keep a tavern running come famine or war or occurrences not meant for mortal knowledge, then they could handle anything.
The owner of one particular tavern wasn’t someone who often thought of himself as such. True, by the time he’d set up the place he’d survived more than what most would consider a “reasonable amount of adventure”. Lost a few fingers for it, gained a few friends, faced death and worse more times than he cared to remember—but really, what was all that when he’d finally built up a thriving business to run and a charming clientele to entertain, and had a nice, comfortable abode to carry on with his cooking and tinkering in peace? It was all about the little things in life.
At first glance, the girl sitting at the bar didn’t appear anything beyond ordinary.
Just a starry-eyed slip of a thing in a faded, homespun dress, very obviously trying to gaze out at the entire tavern at once. The jumpy, curious energy of her showed itself in her idly swinging feet, her fluttering hands, even in the ends of her brown-blonde hair as she turned this way and that.
But then, the hair was…long. Exceedingly so.
So long, in fact, that merely calling it “long” would be like calling The Fiery Pits Of Death Eternal a little bit toasty. Even as a thick braid it near brushed the floor. The flowers that bloomed in it twitched at the slightest movement of her head. Out of the corner of the eye, they even seemed to glow.
…Well. This should be interesting.
Slinging a rag over his shoulder, the owner ambled up to his newest customer and tacked on a well-worn grin. “Hello there, love. Welcome to Quincy’s Tavern, my name is Quincy. What can I get for you?”
She whipped around faster than it took him to finish his sentence. Wide, green eyes met his. A second later the words seemed to register and she went from surprised to panicked.
“Oh—no no no! I’m fine, I’m fine, really! Just, um…waiting for a friend. Friends. They should be here soon. But if you think—if I’m causing you any trouble or you want me to sit somewhere else or if I’m getting in the way or, wait, no, actually I think I am getting in the way, oh dear I’m so sorry I’d better go to the corner there or maybe wait outside I’ll just be leaving now—”
“That won’t be necessary,” he interrupted, before she could edge further off her stool. “There’s no rush going on right now, and I see no reason why you shouldn’t be here. You are a customer, correct?”
She nodded.
“And when your friends arrive, you do wish to buy or trade something?”
She nodded again.
“Then please stay where you are. I insist.”
The nervousness slowly faded out of her. She sheepishly brushed a stray bit of hair behind her ear. “Sorry. I’m a little bit…new to all of this. Sometimes I don’t really know what to do with myself.”
“Oh? Have you not been to a tavern before?”
“I’ve never been to a city like this before.” She gestured out the window, to the just-big-enough-to-call-itself-a-town outside, the bells on her wrist jangling erratically. “Everything is so big! And new and strange and wonderful and interesting! And the people—they’re so nice here! They’ll say hello and wish me a good day, or some of them will stop to give me flowers, or these little children will run up to me and ask if I’m a flower princess, and isn’t that the sweetest? I think it’s all perfectly lovely and I’m so happy to be here!”
She bounced in her seat, hands clasped happily together, and…yes, some of the flowers were indeed glowing. To the untrained eye she looked the picture of a forest nymph. With the town itself beholden to the local forest and the people celebrating holidays for it, was it any wonder why the locals treated her kindly?
Not that they were terrible to everyone else, per se. Hardy? Yes. Self-sufficient? Also yes. Having a healthy distrust for outsiders thanks to the neverending power struggles happening on a nearby mountain where one overlord upstart tried to overthrow the next while pillaging and plundering along the way? At that point it was anyone’s guess how trade hadn’t died off entirely.
(It wasn’t. Not really. Considering his tavern was where it happened to be.)
But all that aside, her joy was contagious. Even he wasn’t immune, and he found himself pulling out a stool across from her.
“I’m very glad you’re enjoying your time here. Would you like to tell me more, if you don’t mind my asking? I’m more than happy to listen.”
“Oh, but I wouldn’t want to keep you from your work. That would be terribly rude—”
“It’s fine, it’s fine, you’re not keeping me from anything. Why, look around,” he waved to encompass the rest of the tavern. It was the time of day where it was too late to call it afternoon and too early to call it evening. Aside from them, the only stragglers left kept themselves near the walls and away from wandering eyes.
“With everyone here, I could get any work I have done in five minutes and be done with it. But what’s the fun in that? Most of my usual entertainment comes with lots of running around, filling out orders, mixing up potions, sticking the occasional boot up a rowdy ogre’s nose—which, by the way, highly do not recommend, the boogies don’t wash out. Nearly lost one of my favourite boots like that.” That earned him a giggle. His smile grew a touch more genuine. “So you see, you’d be doing me a service. Or—how about this?”
From seemingly thin air, he flicked out a deck of cards. “Want to play a round of cards with me? If you win then you might just earn yourself a prize.”
She giggled again. “You’re very nice, thank you. And it’s very kind of you to want to stay here, although…” The way she looked at the cards, head tilted to one side, it made something in her face go sly and knowing. “…I get the feeling you might be better at the game than me.”
“Perhaps, perhaps not. But if you insist.” Another flick and the cards disappeared. “In that case, how about…you tell me something interesting?”
“Like what?”
“Oh, anything you’ve come across. Something you saw while travelling, something you’ve heard of, or something you experienced, or even a story, fiction or no. There’s plenty I’ve heard but I’m always on the look-out for more to learn. Never hurts to be knowing things, you know?”
“…Something interesting…?” She rocked back on the stool. Her eyes wandered around the room, until they alighted upon a point over his shoulder. “Oh! I know!” She clapped her hands. “Pickled onions.”
“…Pickled onions?”
“Yes. Pickled onions. Brownies are good with them.”
Quincy raised an eyebrow. “Are they now?”
“Well, yes—or, the ones I've met are. There’s this village, about two days away by road I think, and you’ll know it because they have this old shrine to Father Winter out on the edge of it. There are these little, itty bitty onions that grow in the forest but you can’t grow them in any garden, and if you try they won’t live. But if you do find any then you’ll likely get them from a brownie, and they’ll be pickled. They’re very good, so make sure you don’t argue with them about it. Brownies are very serious about their onions. Not so much bush berries, I think, but they are partial to root vegetables.”
“…I see. And I’m guessing they trade them for some milk?”
“Oh, they might, I’m sure. But a round of candied cheese and a liberated horse also works.”
“I'm sorry, what—?”
At that moment the girl sat up. There was nothing to visibly suggest why. But then she looked behind, gave a shout, and leapt from her perch.
Quick as a blink, she was across the room and running full tilt at a figure who’d just walked in through the doors and looked up in time for her to tackle them.
Miraculously, they didn't fall to the floor. It was a near miss. The sheer volume of delighted squealing and gushing she was doing was enough to send curious—but not irritated, oddly enough—looks their way, and which her companion must have noticed because they started making their way to the bar.
The new guest resolved itself into the shape of a boy with a mop of shaggy brown hair and a face more freckle than skin. And also red to the ears. Not that that seemed to stop the girl happily clinging to him and chattering away.
“—and did you see the town square? They’ve done it up so nicely, wouldn’t it be splendid if we could—?”
“No,” he interrupted. Low as it was, his voice carried the remnants of left-over puberty. Mid-twenties, then, same as his friend. “We’ve already stayed too long. We need to be packed up and heading out soon.”
“But why?”
“Because there are things that need doing. Like, you know…” he tugged on his bag. It was bulky, but not much out of the ordinary, save for the few bobs and ends that poked out and identified it as an artificer’s bag, “…that thing.”
“What do mean—” she blinked. Then she looked between him and the bag and something clicked. “—Oh. Oh, okay. That. That thing. Yes, that’s, um, wow. But wait, how did you—?”
The two seemed to notice Quincy at the same time.
The girl reacted first. “Right! Introductions! Quincy, this is—oh wait. Oh no. Did I forgot to introduce myself? I did, didn’t I? Oh goodness, I’m so sorry, I always do that.” Bobbing a quick curtsy, she stood up beaming. “Hello! My name is Rapunzel Wellspring. It’s nice to meet you.”
Quincy matched her smile. “It’s nice to meet you as well.”
When the two looked at the boy, he gave an awkward shrug. “…You can call me Hiccup, I guess.”
Something about what he said made Rapunzel frown. She turned to him, hands going to her hips like she intended to tell him off, when Quincy stood.
“Hiccup it is, then.” He nodded, gesturing to the stools. “Make yourself comfortable. If you give your orders now, I can have them out when your friends arrive.”
“No, no, we’ll wait for them. It’ll be better that way,” said Rapunzel, even as Hiccup started shaking his head.
“Are you sure? Remember what happened last time?”
She waved his question aside. “Details, details. It’s not like we blew things up too much—”
“Famous last words.”
“—but even then, I’m sure it’ll be fine this time. They can handle themselves if they want to. By the way, where are they?”
“Oh, you know how it is with them. One gets an idea, the other one follows. But like you said, I’m sure they can handle—”
A crash sounded outside. It was followed immediately after by shouting, shrieking, more crashing, and at least one person laughing over it all.
The doors burst open and two figures tumbled inside, both of them tripping over each other while they caught their breath between giggly wheezes.
“…And there they are. Wonderful.”
By then Rapunzel had gone bounding over to them. The first to notice met her half way and caught her up in a spinning hug. The hood fell back and brilliantly red hair came tumbling out. With her green attire, the quiver of arrows at her hip, and her light-weight boots, it was easy to see that this one was a hunter or ranger of some sort.
While the other figure received their own hug, the ranger/hunter skipped up to the bar and slung an arm around Hiccup. “Hel-lo, look at you! Can’t believe most of your bits are still on you, lad. How’d you survived so long without me?”
“Well, to be honest the last few days were pretty peaceful now that you ask, Mer—oww, ouchouchouch,” Hiccup tugged at her wrist, from where her hand held a firm grip on his hair as she pulled him down to her height.
“Need I remind you that the first time we met you were half drowned and clinging to driftwood? I wouldn’t call that such a fun, peaceful time, now, would you?” she asked sweetly, a strong, northern brogue thick in her words.
“Alright, alright, fine, ow. Yes, I’m very glad to see you and I missed you too. Happy?”
“Better.” She pecked his cheek. Ignoring the face he made, she gave the cheek a pat and flung herself onto a stool. “G’dafternoon, sir! Could I get two pints of ale over here?”
Quincy went to do just that. “Of course. What kind would you like?”
“What do you recommend?”
“Well, we have a fresh batch of apple ale, brought it out just yesterday.”
“That’d do nicely. And could you make mine extra sweet?”
Suddenly, Rapunzel popped up behind her. “Sweet? What sweet? What’s this about sweet? I want sweet.”
Hiccup tugged her down, so that she sat between her friend and his pack. “It’s ale, don’t worry. Ask for something sweet later. Or see if there’s something you like on the menu.”
He nodded towards a wooden board hung up on the back wall, between the shelves of odds and ends. Smooth, curling lines graced its edges, the neat writing carefully etched out in the common tongue.
Rapunzel glowed with delight. “Oooooh, that looks so nice! Mer, look, look, there’s a menu, Merid—”
“It’s Meredith. Remember? And yes, I see it,” she said, through gritted teeth.
“See what?” A pale arm wrapped around Meredith’s shoulder. It belonged to a boy with hair so white it near hurt to stare at. The point of his ears were just visible underneath, and with the way his curling staff showed patches of frost growing on it, in the height of summer…well. There was another story.
His sharp features took on an air of mischief as he read over the menu. “Oho, that looks fun. Would you look at that list of magical goods? Wow.” He tossed a grin at Quincy. “Nice selection you have here. Any items I could get a discount on?”
Quincy set down two tankards and tossed it back. “Win a round of cards with me and you just might.”
“Get off me, Jack.” Meredith whined, the puff of her hair crushed under the weight of his arm. Her trying to wriggle out did nothing but make him lean down even more.
“Aww, don’t be like that Fluff! Did my confession of love mean nothing to you? I cannot bear to be parted from you for long, my dearest of conspirers, my partner in crime—”
“Your ‘confession of love’ happened when you were stealing my knives!”
“It’s the spirit of the thing that counts, doesn’t i—oomph!” Her elbow met his gut. Meredith shoved him off.
Jack fell limply onto the stool next to her, clutching his side like a puncture wound. “She rejected me again, oh, the pain! The agony! I’ll never recover—”
“Drink your ale and suffer, toothpick.”
Rapunzel sniggered, and nearly fell against the bar when Hiccup’s elbow met her back as he tried to manoeuvre himself and his bag with the stool without upending all three.
Clearly, there wasn’t a rogue amongst them.
Then again, there were many things any one of them could be, from what Quincy could see of it, most likely depending on who asked. He wouldn’t ask—a large part being that it was fun to guess—but it was a rather lively, dissimilar bunch that made up this party. And a party was never hurt from too much variety.
He set down a small box and flipped open the lid.
Rapunzel visibly perked up. “Are those…?”
“Cookies? Why, yes. Quite a few of them magic, in fact.” He tapped one of them, a small, round one which had a thin plate of chocolate embedded on it, the surface covered in intricate carvings. “I believe I said I’d give you something in exchange for earlier, didn’t I?”
“Earlier?” Hiccup asked.
Rapunzel quickly interjected. “A story! He asked for a story, so I gave him one. And didn’t you promise that for winning a game? I don’t think you said anything about this.”
Quincy shrugged. “This lot’s been sitting in the back for a few days now—not as popular as usual, for some reason. They’re still good, of course, and it’s not as if it makes any difference to me. And depending on what you pick, you might even get a surprise.” He picked up the chocolate one. “Take this, for example. If you eat it then it will allow you to cast fireball once.”
“Fireball!” Meredith burst in, mid-conversation with Jack. “I want that! Can I buy it?”
“Careful, red, you look like you’re trying too hard.”
“You’re just scared I’ll beat you again.”
“That was one time and you snuck up on me—!”
They got into a bout of bickering, which their two friends ignored.
“It seems like fun, doesn’t it?” Rapunzel poked at the box, while Hiccup gave it a quizzical frown.
“I don’t know about that. I mean, wouldn’t it be a bit overkill? With, you know,” he gestured to Rapunzel's general vicinity, “you being a cleric and all.”
“Well, true. But I mainly use what I have for healing.”
“And for blinding enemies,” added Jack.
For some reason this had Rapunzel grinning. “And deflecting weapons.”
“And making weapons.”
“And carrying a horse!”
The two of them high fived over Meredith, who went into a fit of giggles. Hiccup shook his head at them.
“I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again: I have never seen anything more terrifying than you and Rapunzel teaming up and for everyone’s sake I hope you two are never, ever put together again. Also everyone here is messed in the head.”
“Bold words coming from the Fire In The Mountain society, I see,” said Rapunzel. At Hiccup’s betrayed look, she donned a winning smile.
“Speaking of that—what’re you doing sitting there like you don’t have anything to do with it? Admit the obvious already and come join us! One of us! One of us!”
“Already here. What else you want?”
Apparently, Jack had an answer for that, too. “More snow-globes.”
“Exploding arrows.”
“Another singing sugar jar?”
“That weird, tubey metal thing from when we counter-pranked those hob-goblins, but bigger.”
“Pointy spear but with spice.”
“Okay, fine. I get it. I've learnt my lesson. I take back everything I've ever said in my life.”
Quincy didn’t catch what they said after that, but when he emerged from his shelves it was with a thick book cased in a peeling cover. He set it down in front of Hiccup and dusted off his hands.
“There! I just remembered I had that.” At Hiccup’s hesitant pause, Quincy nudged it towards him. “Go on, give it a read, see what you think.”
The book was one of his older journals. It held plenty of knowledge about tinkering, but much of it covered other subjects as well, from simple potion making to detailed descriptions on different lunar-powered insect species to the shapes and signs of unnatural storms. With the way Hiccup leafed through it, the contents could’ve been the recipe for gold.
“I’ve always told myself, after I’d finished about half a dozen of these, that I’d make sure to lend them out to other artificers, inventors, or those who like to learn like myself. To spread the knowledge around, you know? Lots of good tips in there, whether you’re just starting up or not. If you want you can take it with you.”
He jerked up from where he’d been leaning over the pages. “Oh, no, I couldn’t. I wouldn’t want to just take it—I should at least pay before I—”
“The only price I put on borrowed books is returning them and that’s not changing today. If you like it then use it, and keep it as long as you need. Sound good?”
“I—…yes. Thank you. Thank you very much.”
Hiccup made as if to put the book in his bag but then paused. Instead of trying to fit it into one of his pockets—he had plenty on him, one of them should’ve worked—he did a strange, awkward wiggle that sent him and his bag slithering out of sight. The only thing visible over the bar was the top of his hair.
Jack leaned back on his stool, craning his head to see around the others. He squinted. “What are you doing down there?”
“Just trying to get this new book in. It’s a tight fit.”
“Why do you have to be down there to do that?”
“Because this'll all spill out everywhere if I don’t. You know this already. I could be sitting on solid ground not touching anything and something will happen anyways.”
“Yes, but you’re taking too long. Do you want me to help y—?”
“So!” Hiccup popped up. “I’m hungry! Is anyone else hungry?”
Meredith slowly turned to him. “…Hiccup. What are you hiding. Because I swear if it’s another—”
“Boy, all of this looks so good I don’t know if I could choose!” he continued over her, his voice an octave higher than before. “But since I have to make a choice, then no time to dally—”
“You are the worst liar alive and this is pathetic. My wee brothers could do better than you when they were still growing their teeth in.”
“—so for me it’ll have to be the copper meal, please and thanks!”
Hiccup smacked a copper onto the bar and stared at Quincy like he held the answer to all his problems. Before Quincy could react either way, someone else did.
“I’ve got it!”
A pause. All eyes turned to Rapunzel. She blinked at them. Then she lowered her hands, which had been raised mid-cheer, and ducked her head.
“Um, it’s just, I was wondering what to do about the cookies. A cookie would be nice, but, well, I don’t know, I feel like I was more in the soft kind of sweet mood and not a crunchy sweet one. So…I was thinking…maybe I could exchange it for something else instead? If that’s okay?”
“What did you have in mind?” asked Quincy, if for nothing else than to break the silence.
“Well, the menu says there’s something called lost bread and that seems nice. Is it a sweet?”
“It is. It’s sweet, fried, and filling, goes well with amethyst syrup. But if you order that then it would likely count as a meal, since you’ll get a few stacks of it.”
The sound of that sent joy to her face. But instead of saying yes, she turned to Hiccup. “Hiccup? What do you think?”
He folded his arms. “You tell me. Do you think you could hike for a couple more hours after eating a stack of fried sugar?” The joy fled as fast as it had come and Rapunzel drooped. “There’s your answer.”
She looked so melancholy about the matter that it nearly drew a chuckle. At least the problem was an easy fix.
A quick mental inventory, and the smells coming from the kitchen, gave an answer. “…How about this? I have a fresh batch of honey-nut rolls in the back, made them an hour ago. Normally two of them go for a copper, but for you I could give one for free, and then you can order whatever else you want.”
Rapunzel brightened immediately. “That sounds good. In that case…could I have one honey-nut roll, a miso soup, and some of that amethyst syrup drink?”
“Done.” Quincy swept up the copper from before and the money she put down. “And you two?” he asked Meredith and Jack.
Jack answered first. “I’ll have the biscuits and dragon gravy, if you wouldn’t mind!”
He got a smack over the head from Meredith. “You’re going to burn your mouth, regret your entire life, and then come crying to me. Just save yourself the trouble and tell me you want to steal my food.” Digging out a handful of coins, she counted them up and placed them on the bar. “One King Mulligan’s stew for me, please, and a glass of bottled sunshine for both of us. That should be enough to cover that, the gravy for the genius here, and the apple ales, yes?”
Quincy added the numbers and found there to be more than the prices listed. The coins were also those well known for belonging to the coastal clans, and very good quality. On closer inspection, the metal fastenings on her cloak carried a distinct pattern to them.
He made no comment, pocketing the coins and nodding his thanks. “They do. I’ll have everything brought out right away. If you’ll excuse me.”
It was good that they’d come well after the rush hour. Most of what they’d ordered were common enough items that there were left overs, still hot enough for his assistant to simply plate and deliver. Whatever cooking he had to do was done in minutes and he quickly ladled them up and brought them outside.
He stepped out just in time for Jack to go into a coughing fit. And for the front doors to burst open.
A group of black-clad soldiers trooped in. They were tall, all sharp edges and sleek lines, and moved with a deliberate precision that didn’t look anywhere near as human as it should have. They could have been human, but it was hard to tell with their faces covered.
One of the soldiers in the front of the group marched forward. He—or it, probably; anyone’s guess either way—held up a wide scroll of parchment and let it unfurl.
“By order of his noble majesty King Draconius, ruler of these lands, the ranger Meredith “Green Arrow” Lightfoot and ice sorcerer Jack Frost are hereby summoned to present themselves before his majesty on grounds of vandalism, injury and assault, damage to property, contempt of authority, and theft. They are ordered also to return the following: two chests of seafoam jewels, three chests of gold bars, five crates of seeds, a herd of Yaknogs, and seven barrels of mead. Failure to comply will result in immediate execution.”
The soldier rolled up the scroll. They waited.
And that was the first definite hint that they couldn’t have been human. Local or no, anyone with good sense would know that when it came to brawls with the law, the tavern was left well out of it because the only laws the tavern followed were its own.
The fact that the tavern at that moment held half a decent travelling party on one end, a group of hammer-wielding miners on the other, a tiefling interrupted from trying to flirt with what may or may not have been an assassin, something under a hood that had slime trailing out from under it, and, of course, the tavern owner himself, should’ve been enough for anything with a pulse to run in the other direction. But clearly this lot didn’t have a pulse.
From her seat, Meredith gazed languidly at the gathering. “…Huh. So that’s who we robbed.”
She made no move to turn to a still quietly coughing Jack, so Quincy wordlessly slid a cup of milk his way.
“Yaknogs?” he asked.
Jack downed the cup and shrugged. “They looked sad.”
“Then I suppose I owe you a favour.”
Quincy made his way out from behind the bar. Clasping his hands together, he stood before the soldiers and allowed a polite smile to cross his face.
“Greetings. As the owner of this tavern, I must demand that you to leave at once. This is your final warning.”
The first soldier who’d spoke took a threatening step forward. “You are under the command of his noble majesty. You are ordered to comply at once.”
“Ah, see, that is unfortunate, because I'm not under his command. I really do not wish to do this to you.”
“Bring forth the accused or you will be punished.”
“No. It is you, I am afraid, who will have to be punished.” His smile grew sharp. “You are breaking the rules. That is not allowed.”
He clapped his hands.
At once, the soldiers vanished. No sound, no bang, no sudden light. Just a sudden lack of someones in a place where they’d just been.
Quincy nodded. He meandered back behind the bar, a whistling tune starting up in his throat. He took the emptied cup and regarded his guests. “Will that be all? Or is there anything else I can get you?”
When all of them still gaped at him, he raised an eyebrow. “What?”
It was Hiccup who spoke first. “…You…you just…” he raised a hand to the doors, then looked back at him, “…but how…?”
“Well, this is Quincy’s Tavern and I am Quincy. What did you expect?”
Hiccup closed his mouth. His face paled.
“…What? What is it?” asked Jack. Hiccup looked at him like he’d just summoned death.
“I am not discussing this here with you!” he hissed.
“But why? First it’s your bag of secrets, now this—” Meredith started to go off, only for Hiccup to interrupt, and the three of them went into a furious bout of whispering. The only one who didn’t join in was Rapunzel, who idly sipped her drink and watched them go back and forth like a kickball match.
It was when they remembered that Quincy was still in hearing range that they quieted. On some unspoken agreement, they set to quickly finishing their meals. Quincy pretended not to notice and carried on with his cleaning.
“By the way, when you’re done you can go out through the back,” he said, after some time. If someone startled behind him, he pointedly didn’t see it.
He fiddled with one of his potion bottles, gave it a good shake, and returned it to its shelf. Then he turned back and nodded to the covered passage behind the bar. “Just go through there, down the hall, first door on the right, can’t miss it. If you want, my assistant can show you.”
“No, no. We’ll be fine.” Hiccup stood. “Thank you for having us. This was a good meal and we appreciate it.”
The rest of them repeated the same. Quincy waved them off. “It was a pleasure. You kids stay safe out there.”
“We will. Thank you again.”
They shuffled behind the bar and filed through. The last to go was Rapunzel. But right before she left, she looked back at Quincy and gave him a cheery wave. An arm reached through the opening, looped around her elbow, and tugged her out of sight.

Disney legacy challenge Post Hey everyone I decided to go ahead and upload another challenge that I plan on doing in the future rules today and right now I am doing back stories pictures for snow white's family and her dating relationship stories but I plan on up loading photos of all the house holds involved in this future challenge but I also plan on uploading the actual challenge gameplays videos to my personal youtube channel in the near future. I also will be adding a video of their backstories on my you tube channel as well.
Disney Legacy Challenge rules
All rules apply, except it is okay to pick an aspiration for all sims, as well as a secondary aspirations. Also, if needed, you can add sims that you create to the household. your sims may go on vacation at any time and go to University, unless noted otherwise. Generations are listed below.
Generation 1: Snow White
She was the first princess, so of course she has to be the founder! If you choose, you can create her as a teen and make her evil stepmother, but that’s not necessary. To start, create Snow as an Adult (or Young Adult if you wanted to go to University, but that is not recommended for this generation).
.Find love with someone of high authority and/or wealth
.Must have 7 children (dwarves) with the same baby daddy
.May not marry until the 7th child is a toddler, has learned to walk, talk and use the potty, and has maxed out 1 toddler skill at least, or until that child is a child
.Don’t open the door to strangers or talk to elderly women (this includes the matchmaker from Nightlife and Freetime!)
Generation 2: Cinderella
Although you grew up with six brothers and sisters, you somehow always ended up doing the cooking and cleaning. Your mother says you’re a natural, but is that really what you want to do with your life? This generation starts when Cinderella becomes a teenager.
.Must be a neat sim
.Must clean something every day and cook every meal
.Must reach at least level 8 of the cooking and cleaning skill before you become an adult
.May not marry until your mother dies
.May stop cooking all the meals and cleaning after your mother dies
.Marry, have children
Generation 3: Tiana
What has your family accomplished? Nothing! But you’re here to do something about it. You want to work, and work hard. This generation starts when Tiana becomes a teenager.
.Must be an active sim
.Must have the fortune aspiration
.Must get a teen job
.Must go to University (if you have the expansion pack)
.Father must die before she goes to University or becomes an adult
.Must own a pet (if you have Pets, otherwise just get a fish)
.Must marry a sim with green (hair, eyes, skin, etc.)
.Have children
.Reach the top of career choice and may never retire
Generation 4: Aurora
Because of your mother’s hard work, everything just came to you, except for love. Your father rarely let you in the outside world for fear of something happening to you. This generation starts when Aurora becomes an Adult (may not go to University this generation)
.Must be a lazy sim
.Can only know three people outside her family
.Mother must die before Adulthood
.Must meet future spouse at night while her parents are sleeping
.Have a private wedding
.Only have 2 children (having 3 children by having accidental twins is fine)
Generation 5: Elsa (Requires Apartment Life, if not, see generation 5.5)
Where exactly did your powers come from? How exactly did you get it? Well, let’s just say, a certain friend gave you a curse… but that doesn’t matter. You spent all your time thinking about it, so much time, you became secluded from your entire family. You even missed your own parents’ funeral because you were too scared to show yourself! This generation starts when Elsa is a teenager.
.Must become a witch by the end of her teenage years (can not be cheated, can be good or bad)
.Have parents die as a teenager (can be cheated)
.Never marry, have one child (it was an accident)
Generation 5.5: Anna (If you have Apartment Life, you can do Anna and Elsa together)
After your sister was a child, she secluded herself from you, leaving you lonely and depressed. What did you do to deserve this? And after your parents’ death, she didn’t even show up to the funeral! What exactly is going on? When Anna is a teenager, this generation begins
.Don’t talk to sister until adulthood
.Have parents die as a teenager
.Find love with someone in the criminal career and/or a grouchy sim
.Have lover cheat on her, get engaged with loved
.Find someone new after breaking up with lover
.Marry, have one child
Generation 6: Rapunzel
You were never allowed outside your little house. So, to pass the time, you chose to do a lot of painting. But, why exactly did your mother never trust you out there? This generation begins when Rapunzel becomes a teenager.
.Must be a shy sim
.Must reach at least level 8 of the creativity skill before adulthood
.Must paint for an hour each day
.May only leave the house for school
.If you go to University, you may only talk to boys (if you don’t have University, just move in a handsome adult sim)
.Lover must be in the criminal career
.Lover must quit job before getting married (can get another one if they want)
.Marry, have kids
Generation 7: Belle
You have always found a love for books. It has transported you away to another universe. They taught you not to judge by appearance, but by character and personality. But, your father had different ideas. He set you up with the most handsome men, but none of them fit your standards. This generation begins when Belle becomes an adult.
.Must have Pleasure or Romance aspiration
.Date at least 5 men
.Find the man of your dreams- a werewolf (this may be cheated if necessary). If you don’t have Pets, just make an ugly sim
.Marry, have kids
.Werewolf is cured after marriage (if you don’t have Pets just try to make him less ugly or use hacks and cheats to change his appearance)
Generation 8: Ariel
You loved the water and everything about it. It just transported you away to another dimension, with mermaids and fish that talk to you. You always dreamed about being a mermaid, and you hope to one day make this dream a reality. This generation begins when Ariel becomes a teenager.
.Must be an active sim
.Must own a pool and swim in it for an hour or more each day
.Must marry a beautiful sim with at least two attraction bolts (if you have Nightlife)
.Have kids (no limit)
Generation 9: Jasmine
Living the rich life has its ups and downs. To you, it seems like mostly downs. The only thing you find comfort in is Raja. All your father wants from you is to marry rich, but you’re willing to give it all up just to be normal. This generation starts when Jasmine is a teenager.
.May only leave the house for school
.Must meet future spouse on a community lot dressed as a “poor person”
.Must marry a poor sim
.Lover must have a pet (if you have Pets)
.Go on vacation to all three vacation areas at least once
.Make use of the genie! (May not be cheated, can wish for anything besides hidden Give Me Youth)
.Have 4 children
Generation 10: Merida
You always wanted to know why your mother gave up her riches for a poor boy. Who in their right mind would do that?! Trying to learn more about this and your other “adventures” has landed you in lots of trouble over the years. When Merida becomes an adult, this story beings.
.Must be an active sim
.Lose siblings and mother in an “accident” (may be cheated)
.Resurrect them as zombies (use the resurrect-o-nomitron)
.Never marry or have kids
Generation 10.5: Mulan (for those who want a happier ending)
After your mother married her lover, she realized she wanted her children to live the life she did. She wanted all her children to marry rich, and succeed at life. But you wanted nothing but glory. When Mulan becomes an adult, this generation begins.
.Must be an active sim
.Must be in the military career
.Fall in love with a co-worker once you reach the top of the career
.Marry if you wish, but never have children
.Never retire

Congrats on your 100!! You totally deserve it☺️ im very happy for you and im sure that number will grow much more in the the future bc you totally deserve it🤍
I saw the matchups event and i wanted to participate so here i go!! My name is Elena, im a 18 bisexual, with a preference towards guys, Spanish girl with an INFJ personality, im also a Taurus sun, a Taurus ascendant and an Aquarius moon. The three things i like about myself are probably my empathy, my attempt to be kind to others and how quickly i think and three things i do not like are how much I overthink everything, how insecure i am and my stubbornness. My love language is a bit of everything thanks to my mom who is literally a walking love bear, but if i had to say one it would be acts of service, i love taking care of those around me, even professors. My biggest turn on on someone is probably if they are funny, make me laugh and im yours, also i love self confidence and being able to admit your mistakes. I can not stand when those who im talking with are narrowed minded, rude to others or too selfish, i also hate when guys just wanna do the do with you and not try to get to know you. My pronouns are she/her. I love travelling a lot, im a tourism student, but i also enjoy going to museums, walking through big cities, listening to music, watching movies or shows, bowling, doing creative things, learning about history and baking, that makes me feel so relaxed, also i like doing yoga and working ou sometimes. I want a fluff modern au bc i aot universe makes me very sad :(
My perfect would be a picnic, if it includes any form of pasta, cake or a charcuterie board even better, on a nice city park im a summer month, we would play cards games and listen to music while laughing and quoting memes and vines and later on we could take a walk while talking about anything and just enjoying each others company. I would also describe my fashion sense as parisian, my fav disney princess is Merida and my fav show Modern Family.
I hope this is enough!! If not please dm with any questions you have, im always open to chat too, i love talking to knew, nice, people😁 i hope you have an amazing week/month/year and that those followers keep growing, please hydrate yourself and stay safe💖
I ship you with...

Connie Springer
Elena, you are so sweet that I had to choose someone who could respond to all your sweetness at the same time. Because you're a double Taurus, the idea came to me that maybe you are stable in your affective and romantic relationships. So, of course, you would want someone who was also. Connie recognized his mother in the form of a titan, sided with Mikasa and Armin at the Battle of Trost, and in the most recent season showed how much he cares for his friends. He values the bonds he has. That's why I matchup you with him.
You would probably meet at a museum. He would have gone to a college homework and you to look at the works of art. Seeing you paying attention to one of the paintings made him ask what you understood because he couldn't understand anything. He would watch you explain with patience, and it'd leave him speechless. (because from the way you write I got the impression that you are the type of person who can explain something without making the other feel stupid for not knowing). From then on he would ask you about all the works in the museum.
Guess what? He's a Taurus too. This is a great combination, full of sensuality, fidelity, understanding, and affection. Taurus is a sign of the earth element, stable, calm, ruled by Venus, a planet related to love and pleasure. Therefore, the relationship has everything to be quiet, deep, and lasting. He's kinda dense, but when he notices your insecurity he will dedicate his time to worship all of you.
He’s always telling you how much you mean to him. How much you’re beautiful. He's your personal hype man. In all of your photos, there’s a comment of him saying things like “YOU’RE TOO GORGEOUS FOR THIS WORLD” or flirting with like he’s not already your boyfriend. When he sees how much you take care of everybody around you, he feels like he doesn’t deserve you and gets full mad if someone tries to take advance of you.
While you overthink, he tends to be more impulsive, which helps to balance the relationship. If you hyperventilate, he makes you laugh to relax and unwind, and you help him to think and calculate things more seriously when necessary.
He's also a man of acts of service. He's always helping you here and there. Especially since he thinks you tend to care for others so much that you forget about yourself. When you completed 1 year of dating, he took you to a park in the city center. You rode all the toys, and he will deny it to the death, but he was scared to death of the roller coaster. When you two went back to his apartment, he would surprise you with a picnic in the living room illuminated by candlelight. It was not an open field with flowers, but he would have made your favorite dishes (Actually, ordered because he would have set the kitchen on fire trying to cook the noodles).

MERICCUP MONTH 2020 Week 1, Day 2; “I love you in a letter”
Merida was sitting on her bed as she was sharpening her sword and keeping it nice and polished, like always. When suddenly her maid Mardy came in with a big smile on her face.
“Your majesty ye have a letter here for yeuuu.” she said eagerly to give it to the princess. Merida groaned
“Ugh Mardy I alreadyy told ye I dont want ye callin’ me yo majesty ! and I dont care ‘bout any shtupid letter, they’re just from those shtupid suitors that my mother has wrote to” she exclaimed with a annoyed look on her face.
“oh but but this letter looks like someting even better if i do say so maself” mardy said trying to convince the princess to take the letter as she got closer. Merida refused to acknowledge it when suddenly in the corner of her eye she saw the name..
“Hiccup…” she said under her breath,
she felt the butterflies in her stomach begin to flutter around. she tried to act nonchalant about it, holding back as much as she could not to snatch the letter from the tray in a hurry.
“um…thank yu mardy….I tink I will take it” merida said giving her maid a small smile.
“i knew yu would” she giggled “and dont worry i wont tell da queen about thee letter” she promised as she left, closing the door behind her.
Merida giggle and thanked her then quickly rushed to open the letter…
it read:
“ Dear my beloved Merida,
Bet you thought this letter was another stupid letter from the other suitors haha, but hopefully mardy convinced you to take it and now you’re reading it…”
Merida rolled her eyes and giggled at the thought that he knew her too well
she then continued to read it.
“I hope you’re doing good and not giving your mom a hard time with the whole arranged marriage. I know its not the best thing ever, but I’ve been thinking about it and I think you should go through with it….”
Merida couldn’t believe what she was reading! How could he say that?! and in a letter ! He couldn’t face her ! thoughts started to play in her head, did he find someone else ? what had happened to all the promises he had made her, saying that he wouldn’t stop till they could be together, was it all a lie?? Merida started boiling with anger, and tears started to build up in her eyes from the thought that she wouldn’t and couldn’t be with the only person she could ever imagine her self being with, and who accepted her for who she was but no, she couldn’t just stop there, she needed to keep reading and see what his reasons were to say such absurd things…
“Your parents will never let us be together, you need a true King to rule by your side, one that is worthy for you. Someone that will truly fight for you and stand up for what is right, just like you do for what you believe in. Someone that loves those big blue eyes and firey red hair, that melts at every touch of yours and can’t stand to be away from you even for a second and to really know the real you, not just your princess side but the REAL side of you, the brave and fierce side but also nurturing, and love everything about you. A real Love. Now you must be thinking that I must be crazy and questioning the promises I made, but those promises are going to be made. Because I am that man that WILL be your King…”
Merida was so confused and didn’t understand a word this man was saying but she continued…
“ I’m competing for your hand. And I WILL Win. No one is going to stop me and your parent wont be able to interfere. My father has named me Cheif of Berk, I’m the Dragon king and I have defeated the Red Death. I still might be a Viking but I’m willing to take the chance of going to Scotland. Even if it kills me, because…..
I love you Merida of DunBroch.
I’ve loved you since i first saw you in the woods when we were little, I’ve loved you since i can remember. You are my everything and I’m going to fight for that love.
see you soon my love.
Love, Hiccup Horrendous Harddock III ”
Meridas tears of sadness became tears of joy and a big grin grew on her face, she couldn’t believe it hiccup was going to actually fight for her. And she was not letting anyone stop him either. And if he was coming to Scotland everyone would have to go through her to get to him.
“I love you too hiccup…” she whispered to herself hugging the letter to her chest.

“Disney Princess are save by men bla bla bla they are weak bla bla bla”
Tumblr media
Yes Her prince saved her at the end
But she Saved her prince three times previously
- from drowning
- from being marry with ursula
- from being killed by ursula
Tumblr media
Saved by her prince who was saved previously by 3 woman previously who help him a lot killing maleficent.
Got save :
70% by her godmothers
30% by her prince
Tumblr media
was saved
- 40% fairy godmother
- 50 % gugus jack jack
- 10% her prince
Edit : but even if prince charming 100% saved her who cares 😄 i mean cinderella is a victim of abuse since when we blame victim of abuse to not be able to save themselve 😅
Tumblr media
Saved her prince.
Tumblr media
Saved her prince but well saved the whole china !
Tumblr media
Was saved by her prince from wolves  but the whole movie is about how her prince need to be saved. She saved him two times from falling with gaston , from his curse.
Tumblr media
Prince didn't really saved her on the contrary 😅 naveen created more problem maybe he saved her from the hunter i dont remember very well the scene. tiana saved him throughoutt the whole movie. This is her kiss that save them so she save her prince who just like in beauty in the beast the fact that he need to be saved is the whole problem of the movie.
Tumblr media
Saved her sister ! was technically saved by olaf and her “ prince” in a very strange way , his actions allow her to makes her act of true love and unfreeze her heart ,  has he never try to killed her sister and since frozen was not about the kiss from prince charming no kiss would have worked and she would have froze to death but he never had the intention to saved her...we can say she  was save by herself when she decide to  sacrifice herself for her sister !
Tumblr media
Was saved by her prince at the market but then tried to save him multime times but fail
- from her guards when she reveal she is the princess
- from jafar but it was too late
- in the end jasmine makes diversion and kiss jafar to allowed aladdin to defeat him
So who saved jasmine ?
- 50% her prince
- 50% herself
Tumblr media
Saved her prince multime times during the movie , prince saved them from her tower at two times at the beginning and at the end but save him at the end when he died.
So i would say who saved rapunzel ? 50/50 between her and eugene.
Moana
Not saved by a prince and have no prince to saved.
Elsa
Dont consider her a princess but a queen she saved no one and was saved by a prince but it  dont count since he try to kill her at the end of her movie.
Snow white
This is the dwarfs who defeat the evil queen
But i think we can say she was saved 50% by the hunter 50% by her prince.
Merida
was not saved by any man but well , it is a lot ( too much ? ) say that merida “her” doesn't need a man.
We can add
Esmeralda
Who saved phoebus
Megara
Who sacrifice for hercule.
So conclusion with 16 princess adding esmeralda and megara : 7+2( no princess) saved their prince , 3 dont saved prince in their movie but save someone else , 3 needing their prince but were not saved mainly by him.
so i think we need to stop with the argument “ i want a princess who  was not saved by a man and saved herself” when more than a half already saved their prince or someone else. before brave creation..😤
Finally , this is not something bad to be saved by a man....and a main character who saved herself all the time is not interesting since we need to be show the character weakness and be afraid for her. 🙄🙂

Hunger Games Characters I picture in Disney  Characters.
Katniss  I Put her with Merida ( Brave) Belle ( BATB)  Meg ( Hurcules) Elsa (Frozen).
Why Merida. Well shes good with the bow and arrow ( I actually haven’t seen Brave fully so I don’t know much about her).
Belle. Both are strong willed women Willing to do anything for family.  Both have no choice but to stay where they are “captured” both are like if I have a will to live through this I’m not gonna go down without a fight. Both have 2 men after their hearts, Both know how to survive on their own if needed.   She learned to fall in love with a beast.
Meg.  This is more the love side  for Katniss. The Song I wont say I’m in love is basically Katniss’s theme song. Like she wont admit it she loves Peeta but girl we all know..
Elsa. In a way Katniss did shut out Prim to protect her. She didn’t want to hurt her sister strong willed to protect her sister at all cost.  Plus I know Cinna is to credit for this but her mockingjay outfit *Chefs kiss* plus they wear their hair the same.
Peeta.  Hercules  Kristoff ( Frozen) Kovu ( Lion King 2)  The Beast (BATB)
Hercules he’s strong. But he literally gave up everything for love. Which is so Peeta.
Kristoff. Okay this one both  have such a charm that attracts everyone. Tho both have obessions and flaws So they are a bit of fixer uppers.  But both are somewhat accpecting to the fact  I will wait until you make your choice. Both have kind and sweet hearts.  Both are kultzy but pull it off like a champ.  ( And Katniss didn’t fall in love with a man she just met. They knew each other since the age of 5) But Never truely met until the games.
Kovu. Hes the sexiest damn thing. In Disney characters I freaking swear  He has a way with his words. Charming.  Loyal tho. He is willing to go against his families ( whos kinda a bunch of ya know bad guys) for Love and whats right. So Peeta.
The Beast. This is Peeta in Hijacked Form ( Some parts). Besides the totally Hitting on Belle part. We all know deep down the love he had for Katniss never left. He never stopped loving her.  Not based on how good she looked but who she is.  Plus A Kiss broke the spell.  Also he had a bit of charm in his hijacking but so much anger and Katniss was the only one who could truely break him outta it.  Also I was hoping that He would of said so you came to look at the beast have you.
Finnick  King Triton ( Little Mermaid)  Maui ( Moana) Flynn Rider ( Tangled) Aladdin.
Kin g Triton. Well for that  Trident comes in handy.  ( The king is kinda a jerk why are most fathers in disney movies total jerks I’ll never know) But I hope that Finnicks son at least knows what a fork is compaired to a freaking trident ( and doesn’t use it as a hair brush) man that was stupid. Both are basically the big shot of  where they live.  Both  love water live  near or in water... ( What they hell do they eat under the sea ?)
Maui. Okay Finnick is a bit of a show off a little.  Not his fault hes so damn good looking.  Both have that sarcasm that makes you laugh but your like oh my god please stop. Both have there  if Finnick had a song It would be your welcome. But still so much we never know about them both.
Flynn Rider.  Okay  well both just have the certain personality that is strangely Alike.  Both know how to fight if needed. Both  are like well the ladies are okay but not intrested until they find the one..  Both have their charm.  ( Plus I love Flynn rider).
Aladdin. We know that Finnick has a huge part of him he never opened up. Before when he spilled what the real price to winning is. That was not everything. There is a part that  Beetee said If you knew Finnick it’s amazing he’s still with us at all. So hes been though it.
Johanna  Bo Peep ( Toy Story 4)  Mulan  and Mulans Grand mother ( Mulan) Tiana (Princess and the Frog)
Bo Peep. From the first toy story to the 4th one Bo peep has changed a lot. ( Kinda like Johanna from  after her games to who we met in Catching fire) Tho a lot of them is still there that hasn’t changed. But their will to fight. and that they dont take BS as an answer.  That they  both may look weak but inside them so much more then that. ( I was shocked to see Bo Peep kinda like Johanna in toy story 4). Not scared of a little fight and blood.  Frankly I’d be worried that they both would try to kill someone in their sleep.
Mulan. I love in movies where the weakest person goes to the strongest like that. Totally Johanna.  And they are the girl worth fighting for I see more of her in Johanna then Katniss because  Johanna went from faking being weak to deadly like that. Where as katniss she didn’t hide it at all really. Plus if this wasn’t a disney movie i would of love to say what Mulan would of said  when they found out shes a girl really.  But both are bad ass females. Who really had no choice to go into this ( Mulan had to save her father Johanna got picked to be in the games)
Mulans Grandmother ( I didn’t realize I did this) But I Johanna’s humor she says what she wants and no damage. They don’t ruin the moment they make the moment 100 times better.
Tiana. She was totally fine not finding love ( But its disney she did) I really like her will to not give up no matter how many changes are thrown at you.  and  tolerting her best friend but I freaking love Charlotte She is the one who knows what to say in a moment where no one else would understand basically the girl talk that Katniss hates but we all have it in us.
Prim  Repunzel ( Tangled) Baymax ( Big Hero 6)  Anna ( Frozen)
Lets Ignore the fact that I brought up 2 of these lovers before to other characters
Repunzel  The healing part Prim has it is in her born with it.  and she has a nack of many talents. And In a way is locked up in District 12 ( But Protected by her sister)
Baymax He is the cutest thing out there. Caring knowing when you need a hand ( Like katniss)    a healer  ( I might of went out to look for the healer of disney).  Not much of a fighter ( But I swear if you did what  Hiro did if you did that to prim oh my god the fight in her but the healing will always be apart of her)
Anna. Okay I basically but Anna here because she is Elsa’s sister. Simlar hair styles but.. Both are willing to do anything for each other.  Prim had a knack to see if the fence was on to see if Katniss was gonna be late coming back from hunting. Both are gental who wont hurt a fly (Unless your almost husband is a total jerk)
Effie Charlotte ( Princess and the Frog) Dory (Finding Nemo )  Yzma ( The emperors  New Groove)
Charlotte. Oh my god If this isn’t effie I have no clue what is. She  does stuff to get a better district. But then Truely cares about her district 12 tributes 74th Games. She would almost do anything in her power to make them on time and for her victors.
Dory Okay Effie is a bit clueless in her own little world.  Telling them about the pearls lol and whitty. Effie doesn’t have short term memory loss she has I’ve been living in the capitol and this is what I know.
Yzma This is the effie we dont wanna see Frankly I am happy we didn’t see this side of her. It’s the one who gets really pissed off I’m sure it would be something else tho to see.
Cinna.  Fairy God mother (Cinderella) Genie ( Aladdin)  Nick ( Zootopia)
Fairy God mother. Cinnas out fits are like  bibbidi bobbidi boo I make an awesome outfit for you. Also He takes good care of Katniss.(  Like sent from up above) On her side beyond his end.  A bit of a rebel but over all a really good guy
Genie. Cinna is like the Genie without 3 wishes.  But he is there and supports Katniss fully.  And just  helps her out when se needs it.  and Is a friend in Katniss. Basically the one  she trusts first and fully,
Nick  Okay this is an odd one But he  rebeled from his bad guy character to help Judy ( Police officer) with a crime.  Cinna helped out katniss and pretty much a rebel to go beyond to help her. To show shes the symbol of this war... To show that she  should go a head fight for it all its worth. Plus I got your back making your costumes not only good looking but you wont have to worry about death yet your costumes prevent that.
Haymitch.  Mushu ( Mulan) Lumiere ( BATB)  Crush (Finding Nemo)
Mushu He is that reality check that Katniss and Peeta needed but also will do almost anything to protect them ( Even lying for there own good)  But also oh my lordy funny.
Lumiere. It’s his carefree side where Katniss shot an apple at the gamemakers and just like oh well. That happened... Plus not playing by the capitol rules and  He is just like a good mentor to Katniss and Peeta hell the best. He really wants them to try to win this thing.
Crush. Okay that turtle was the most stoned turtle I’ve met. To this day. And as for Disney Characters this might not be the most drunk but It’s one i can Find.
Gale Robin Hood  Hans ( Frozen) Gaston ( BATB)
Robin hood Umm he shoots I think he hunts thats about it
Hans  Not only did he confuse Anna for a love  But we see his true colours too. I mean they were not even friends first but still. Like so Gale.
Gaston.  He’s a hunter after his girl Katniss ( But shes already taken) Really wanted her once she was gone  also is strangly after Katniss and only katniss ( when shes around) when he has plenty of takers.
Okay I realized this is very long. So these are the last picture.
Snow.  Evil Witch ( Snow white) Scar ( Lion King)
Evil  both are totally okay with murder and poison. At least she only poisoned Snow white enough to put her in a coma.
Scar. If you read the newest  Hunger Games book ya know.  What snow did to a certain someone...  And like wont take the blame but he will tho at the same time
Coin  Maleficent (Sleeping Beauty)  Mother Gothal ( Tangled)
Maleficent I am deeply scared of her just saying and Coin as well
Mother Gothal. Totally Coin.  They both dont want there golden Flower to leave protection  if it was really up to Coin she would never let Katniss go. But she had little control over her Frankly Katniss never trusted her at all.   But like Mother Gothal we all knew she was bad going in but   Coin first time Reading I said I bet you will be bad lol.
Annie Hei hei (Moana) Jane ( Tarzan)
Hei Hei ( Sorry Annie ) But kinda crazy.  Kinda out of it...
Jane I have no idea why but I see this crazy girl from 4 Jane. Just going a bit crazy at everything like Jane
Wiress Clogsworth ( BATB) Okay simple very smart  but Kinda out there and  has a thing for clocks
Mags (Grandma from Moana) A little crazy but alright. I mean better then alright down right awesome.
Beetee Wall’e I have actually  never seen this movie but I am like hell robot  Beetee.
Careers Bruce and the other sharks (Finding Nemo)  Scary yet the biggest idiots on the planet. Sure they get the best of best  as districts go but damn who doesn’t know how to climb a tree or knowlage to idk chop it down burn it down..
The Claw
Not Sure who this is ( Monters inc) I just thought Plutarch at Katniss’s propo attemps lol.
Caesar Flickerman  Kuzco ( Emperors new groove)  If this isn’t him I have no idea what is. Total Kuzco vibes the but also somewhat caring but most of the interviews is how he does.  Its beauty and its grace its Caesers face. But He does try to help out to the best of his ability.
Boggs Mattias. Frozen 2  Basically he actually cares for Katniss doesn’t want to see harm done to her. A  rebel against his leader. ( I think he would of honestly be proud of Katniss for Killing Coin). But Only hopes for the best.
Cato Prince Eric ( Little mermaid)  No offence but  holy crap hes an idiot lol  ( Eric I mean).  Cato is smart but clueless.  If he beileved that 2 could win. ( I honestly have no idea why I chose him for Cato)
Katniss’s Mother ( Iduna) Frozen ( Anna and Elsas mother). Yeah  Mrs Everdeen did leave her daughters to fend for themselfs but bits of her came back to life every day.  and if she had a choice she would of died with her husband but she is the strongest damn person because she could of  died if she wanted to but she stayed for her daughters sakes. I would like to think Iduna would of done the same if she had that chance.
Game Makers  (More monster inc dudes_ This is their faces when Katniss blew up the arena)
Madge Moana. Okay I will admit stange but Madge is pretty bad ass like Moana tho she doesn’t leave she is very family is everything quiet. But not a sas for a village leaders daughter Moana isn’t bad at all. I could see her being the Madge we don’t get to see.

Honest, In-Depth Bravely Review: Merida (Spoilers)
Tumblr media
Based on her characterization in her movie, I have to say I was pleasantly surprised with how the author managed to capture Merida’s personality so well whilst adding a mature evolution to it, which makes sense considering she was now a young woman, no longer a teenage girl.
I thoroughly enjoyed Merida’s handling of her own emotions and how they shaped the way she acted. I love how she still had the same beliefs she had in her movie surrounding marriage and men in general and how she handled those beliefs more maturely. I love how the author incorporated her utilizing her archery and isolating herself amongst nature as coping mechanisms whenever she needed to think and her mind was too loud. I love that she was still the same Merida, the one who plays with her food and runs out in the snow barefoot. I enjoyed the aspect of Merida never being able to stay still; if she wasn't traveling or on minature adventures, she was moving around the castle and if she wasn't doing that, she was out in the vast woods utilizing her archery.
I love how that part of her character played into how she learned that it was okay to sit back and just listen to the birds rather than constantly being out amongst the wilderness always always after another adventure without ever giving herself a second to really breathe in between. I love that she learned how to install a balance within herself; she was still true to herself, she just wasn't as much of a wild child anymore. Which is completely understandable, given her growing older into adulthood. She felt as if something was in the way of her being able to change, even as everyone around her did. She still remained the same, and she was looking for a purpose as it seemed as though everyone else had found theirs towards the end.
Merida’s Internal Dilemma
As the princess of the kingdom of Dunbroch, she'd always have something to do or someone to be, but as Merida of the clan Dunbroch, who was she? This was Merida’s internal struggle and it was so endearing to see that what she needed was to allow herself to feel. Throughout the book, there are moments where she would almost cry or would only cry a little, but refused to go through with it, let alone allow anyone but her mother to see her cry. She wasn't allowing herself to feel much of anything, although given the journies she needed to embark on as a means to encourage internal change from each of her family members whilst also dealing with the warlord from an opposing clan whom was determined to foster her brothers by force, it was very understandable as to why she wasn't allowing herself to cry.
She didn't have time to sit with her emotions, only having a year to bring about change within her family or else they'd be lost to death and ruin. She didn't have time to stand still and breathe. But, after saving her family and her kingdom from ruin, she still hadn't brought about change within herself. That was when she asked Feradach to help her, and he did: He gave her the ruin she needed in order to bring about renewal within herself. He gave her the ability to feel the pain, the hurt, the frustration, the anger, the exhaustion, the inner turmoil she's never allowed herself the chance to let herself feel in what must have felt like eons for her. And, he told her, “You will heal.” And, eventually, she did.
Merida Falling In Love
I adored watching Merida begin to care for the genderless entity made of essentially air whilst beginning to fall in love with him without herself ever realizing this, which is true to her character: she doesn't realize when she's in love because she's just so comfortable being in the company of this creature of many faces.
I can pinpoint exactly when her feelings towards Feradach began to shift, when she recieved a gift of attempting to instill change within Hamish from Feradach as a means to save her and her family from the ruin he couldn't bare to bring upon them. When Feradach, who'd refused to bring about ruin and death for a short time and was as a result facing the consequences of his curse by beginning to slowly die, was at risk of fading away and being replaced by a newly reincarnated Feradach and Leezie explained the rebirthing of a new god of death and ruin, Merida emphasized her attachment to the present Feradach whom was lying on the ground before them as they spoke, herself excaiming, “But, what about THIS one?? What happens to him?”
When he visits the Dunbroch castle after she saved him from nearly dying and Merida is so talkative and comfortable around him, the fact that she was waiting for him to come see her again because she missed him. When she ran out after him barefoot in the snow, paralleling their first meeting, expressing upset at Feradach leaving after the time they'd spent with the rest of her family, but Feradach explaining the anguish in having to watch them any longer knowing that no matter how hard he tried to cheat his way out of the bargain made between him, Merida, and the Cailleach, he'd have no choice but to bring ruin to Merida, her family, and their kingdom if every member hadn't changed internally.
One last time, he asks her what he looks like to her, his question sounding much more like a goodbye rather than his growing internal worry of her still viewing him as nothing but a monster. But, Merida tells him, finally. To me, this felt quite reminiscent of a love confession: “You look kind, Ferdach. I didn't want to tell you, because it made me angry. Why should you look like that when you do what you do, I thought? Yes, it's not all you look like, of course. You have a bushy light mane like a highland pony, but your eyebrows are dark. Your eyes are blue. You've got a pock scar just there, and when you frown, your lower lip goes like this.” She demonstrated the pout. “You look like someone girls would fancy. But, that's just the body, isn't it? The face you're wearing. The kindness is you, though, no matter if you're in that body or out of it. That's Feradach. And now I understand, and I don't mind telling you.”
She's content with the feeling of comfort, warmth, and belonging Feradach provided her in the few days he stayed with the Dunbroch family, but it never really hit her that she was in love with him until it did. It hit her the moment she was able to let her walls down. The moment she realized she was feeling authentically, not simply allowing herself to feel for only a moment before bottling everything up again. She sat within this feeling, let herself feel it, and didn't bottle it up. “ “I trust you.” I love you. ”
For Merida, even from the start of Brave, it was never about not wanting to be in love. It was about the fact that her boundaries were being overstepped and that she was being forced to love rather than being given the freedom to find love in her own time. And, she did. And it wasn't a charming prince, but rather an immortal, genderless being who brought destruction and decay to everything he touched in the name of bringing about eventual renewal and recreation. And she didn't need him to complete herself; although their separation was painful, her heart eventually healed. She healed so much so that she was now determined to find a way to free Feradach from the curse the Cailleach brought upon him, the curse of being a god bringing about ruin and decay even if it were in the name of eventual renewal and revival.
Merida was now determined to restore Feradach back to his original, barely air-like state, his true form where he's most happiest, most free; Merida has healed from the heartbreak of Feradach’s departure and is now determined to heal him from the ruin he's been subjected to for generations, out of love, in the way his ruin eventually healed her.
And I love that it remains true to what the original message of her character was in Brave. It was such a beautiful journey, watching her grow in Brave and watching her evolve in Bravely in terms of choosing her own life for herself. What better match for Merida, a girl whom can never seem to stay in one place, whom loves the wilderness and traveling and shooting her arrows through the forest, whose heart is as wild as the wind and can never seem to stay calm, whom has grown up feeling pressured by her society to be either this way or that way thus never allowing her to learn whom she truly is, pressured to put on a facade and to never be truly understood, never allowed to truly live nor allow herself to feel, to be her true authentic self.... than a kind-hearted, entity made of just barely air whom loves the world and humanity just as much, whom doesn't need a face, a body, nor a gender, whom lives off of pure feelings, just a gleeful odd being whom has existed in all times over and over; neither here nor there, simply present everywhere at all times. Whom wants nothing more than to understand humans and to understand how to live, whom has nothing to offer but authentic vulnerability and peaceful stillness. I could talk about Merida and Feradach for hours.
Merida’s character arc both in Brave (2012) and Bravely (2022) are so beautiful and proudly remain true to her character. Specifically, Merida’s character arc in Bravely is all about allowing yourself the space to grow internally, to feel all that pain and fear, because it's needed in order for you to heal. Emotional maturity and growth is so important in terms of Merida’s internal character in this book and I adored every second of her.
