Representation matters. #StarringJohnCho posters by William Yu started in 2016. This began a discussion about Asian Americans in leading roles in Hollywood, which inspired others to create their own stories and will continue to inspire future generations.

As much as I dislike the mother in Love Next Door at this point — I say expose the bad sides in Asian culture parenting. I hope we can all beat the generational gap and understand where each other is coming from. I know the mother loves Seok-ryu, but she projects all the person she didn't become to Seok-ryu and parents watching this show need to know that it is just...overwhelming, sad and depressing. It is not genuine parental love. I think it's time when daughters and sons and parents, talk and listen to each other without dismissing each others concerns and issues. It's okay to be wrong and corrected.

can we just take a second to appreciate Aryan Simhadri? he's a fantastic actor, every second he's on the screen he manages to make his actions scream GROVER. he's perfect for his role just like Leah and Walker are yet I don't see nearly enough people talking about him and his contribution to the show in this fandom. he's not only nailing the Grover Underwood vibe but he's also providing so much phenomenal Indian/Asian rep. he's giving so much depth of character and that is so rare for Indians (and Asians generally) in popular media, and he's so conscious of how his background interacts with Grover's. Aryan has given so so much to us and now I wanna hear y'all celebrating that.

anyone on here watching the boyfriend? cause the tiktok and twitter fans that are calling dai a red flag /player are insufferable. all this over some risky photos. him hooking up with alan in the past. using dating apps. and talking to the other guys in the house when this is in fact A DATING SHOW… like his is a 22 yr old who is hot and single, what did people expect? also shun is not a baby that needs coddling. yes he has been hurt, but dai is not some big bad villain who’s forcing shun to like him. also we’ve only seen 3 eps, ppl need to chill the fuck out, acting like they know everything.
also the sl*t shaming is crazy… ppls reactions to dai is also giving biphobia but i digress…

Do me a favor. Go and like and comment on these three new trailers. The push for lesbian representation in Asian series is real and we need to show up. Interest by international fans is important!

absolutely love the fact shogun shows john blackthorne as the arrogant white supemacist that he is, oh he thinks Japanese are barbaric and Japan is a godforsaken land?
oh no he’s the one who understands zero Japanese words and zero Japanese manners, he’s the one who is homophobic while Japanese ppl think homosexuality is as normal as heterosexuality, he’s the one who thinks Japan needs to be partitioned and controlled by his WHITE ruler while Japan is thriving on its own.
i rly appreciate the way shogun tells the story honestly instead of the usual white Hollywood orientalist BS
