a/n: there is such a lack of gilbert fanfics on here, he is such a sweetheart and needs more attention
song: angeleyes - abba
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Walking up a hill from your new home, you follow a path you saw that helps lead you to school easily. You were dressed in a gorgeous light blue dress that somewhat stuck out around you. You had a ribbon in your hair and some jewelry with white gloves.
You truly didn't know what to wear, back at your old school this was the normal clothing.
You saw a pretty small white flower, you picked it and tucked it behind your ear. Smiling to yourself you continued down the path until you hear your name being called.
"Excuse me! Miss!" you stop walking and turn around to see a young boy, he seems to be around your age. Your eyes quickly scanned his features and you had to admit he was rather handsome.
"Hello, sir!"
"Gilbert- please, call me Gilbert," he smiles.
"Well then, it's a pleasure to meet you, Gilbert. I'm y/n," you smile at him.
"You're new here? You have a pretty accent"
"I am, and thank you. I just moved here from London," you blush.
"Wow, is it nice there? I've been wanting to travel."
"Well honestly I suppose it depends on where you are and what part you're talking about. But overall I like it," you explain looking at a squirrel you saw running in a tree.
Gilbert seemed to not be able to look away for you. He was in awe of you, he has never encountered a girl with such beauty as you.
"Perhaps you would join me in my walk to school? If that's where you're heading?" you suggest.
"I would love to"
Tumblr media
You both arrive at school and see everyone already there. You put your small bag on a hook in the cubby area. All the students turn and look at the two of you. It quickly goes quiet and they start to whisper.
You smile at them nervously and start to fidget with your gloves.
Gilbert leans over to your ear and whispers, "don't worry about them, they just don't get a new classmate that often." You nod and introduce yourself. The girls giggle at your accent and the boys ask you to say some words they think would sound funny with it.
Gilbert also took notice of Billy Andrews who was in the back watching the scene. Gilbert also noticed the way his eyes lingered on you, longer than he liked.
He then saw Billy start walking towards you as the boys started to walk outside and girls went to their little corner. They all told you to come sit with them but before you could follow, someone stepped in front of you.
"My, my, what a pretty girl you are. I'm Billy Andrews," he says holding his hand out. You put your hand in his with the intention to shake it, but to yours and Gilbert's he gently picks it put and places a kiss on your knuckles.
Perhaps you would find this sweet, if it were Gilbert doing it. But this boy seemed rather arrogant in your opinion.
"Oh- um- thank you and good to meet you... I must be going now, the girls are waiting for me," you nod your head over to the girls watching in the corner. You see Diana and Anne smiling at you waving their hands over for you to join them.
You slip away from Billy and go sit in between them. "I love all of your dresses," you say to them. They were different from what you grew up with but that's what made you like them.
"Ours? Look at yours! You are very beautiful and that outfit is miraculous!" Anne exclaims as the other girls nod their heads.
"Why thank you," you then lean over towards her when the other girls broke off into some converstations, "your red hair is lovely, did you know? It suits you perfectly," you whisper.
"Oh you don't know how much that means to me!" Anne smiles so happily you can't help but do the same.
Tumblr media
The day ended and Gilbert had a clenched jaw while he was thinking about Billy telling the other boys that you would be crawling to him in no time. Gilbert may or may not have accidentally stuck his foot out as Billy was passing by.
Gilbert saw you walking out of school and jogged over to you. "Hey! How was your first day?"
"It was magnificent, it was very different from what I am used to," you admit.
"Figured it would be, do you mind if I..." you look over at him as he continues, "walk you home?"
"Of course not!"
This then became a routine with the two of you, you both had grown very fond of each other and were very close.
Today, Billy was flirting with you again, and Gilbert mistook your actions for you flirting back. That day on the walk back, you got in a small argument.
"You were flirting back!"
"What? No I was not," you shook your head.
"Even if you weren't why wouldn't you?!" Gilbert didn't understand why you never went out with Billy, most of the girls had a crush on him.
"Because- because I fancy someone else!" you take a step closer to him, leaving only a few inches between you two.
Gilbert stops as his eyebrows raise, "who?"
"Oh Gilbert, you complete idiot," you sigh while shaking your head, but before he could respond you grabbed his collar and connected your lips to his. He quickly responds and puts one hand behind your head, and the other around your waste. You could have melted right there as you leaned into the boy. You reached up and ran your fingers through his hair, loving how soft it was.
Gilbert was about to faint, he had been dreaming of this happening since he met you. As you were pressed on him while your lips molded with each other, he prayed that you couldn't feel how fast his heart was beating. You slowly pull back and rest your forehead on his.
"You, Gilbert, I fancy you," you whisper to him, breathlessly.
"I like you as well, darling," he smiles connecting your lips again.

Did you say you recently read/re-read Anne of Ingleside? What did you think of it?
Anne of Ingleside marks a change for me in the AoGG series, kind of a "before" and "after" marker. Before, every book focused on Anne's perspective throughout, with the exception of the first. In Anne of Ingleside, the focus of the story begins to shift from Anne herself to her children. Anne still features prominently in the book--unlike say, in Rainbow Valley--but her children get their own voice and narrative attention. This splintered attention only grows more prevalent in the remaining books of Rainbow Valley and The Blythes Are Quoted. (I didn't include Rilla, as Rilla of Ingleside has Anne, but also, it's about Rilla).
The introduction of the children means that much of the plot of Ingleside focuses on Anne's role as a mother and a wife. Looking at goodreads, this rubs a lot of readers the wrong way. Brilliant Anne Shirley, reduced to yet another happy wife happy life stereotype. I don't really agree with this conclusion, but I understand it. While I think choosing motherhood shouldn't be looked down on as a lesser choice, I think it's valid to find it less interesting from an entertainment perspective. (It's also impossible to separate from the historical context flavoring similar stories with "the home is where women belong!" although I don't think we really get that with Anne--in fact Gilbert explicitly acknowledges feeling guilt over the fact that he stole Anne's talent from the world in TBAQ). I also do think complaints of this ilk can be somewhat silly, because LMM novels are romantic slice of life books about young women on PEI in the late 1800s thru early 1900s--what did you expect the book was going to be about? There's a discussion to be had about female characters deserving more than what the time period they were written in afforded them (ie Jo March), but I think LMM does her characters justice most of the time. Anne isn't Emily, and Anne doesn't need to be.
Personally, I find Anne's new stage of life interesting, but I can find the focus on her children boring. Although I love the Blythe children as they grow older, half of them read too similar to Anne in this book for me to care about them as a unique voice (looking at you, Nan and Di). There are moments I do love--the glimpse at Walter's and Gilbert's relationship, Walter helpfully saying "his bottom," (all time favorite LMM moment), Jem flooring a playmate by saying dog's legs are supposed to reach the ground--but squinting at the children-focused parts of the book overall, I can't say they captivate me.
I do, however, love Anne's role as matchmaking matron who provides guidance to her children, the tension between her and Gilbert at the end of the book, Anne laughing at how women flirt with her doctor husband, her and Diana discussing the ups and downs of motherhood (someone here described them as wine moms and I loved it), and overall our look at a more mature Anne. LMM provides an engaging look at an older Anne and Gilbert with her delightful brand of whimsical realism. Sure, Anne and Gilbert got their happily ever after (ish, considering TBAQ and Rilla), but you know, happily every after can put you in a rut, and sometimes it comes with nasty in-laws, and it always comes with great loss to share. I enjoy the continuation of Anne's story; I less enjoy the handing off of the story to her children.
Where Ingleside really shines for me, though, is its foreshadowing. Ingleside was written last of all the Anne books, barring TBAQ (which really isn't an Anne book, but it so directly continues the storylines I count it as one). Rainbow Valley was published in 1919, Rilla was published in 1921 and Ingleside in 1939. That's a pretty significant gap of time, and it shows in Ingleside. As I've written before, WWI is foreshadowed in Rainbow Valley but it's from the perspective of a childhood daydream, albeit a chilling one, about a pied piper. Anne of Ingleside is much more blunt in foreshadowing the war. Diana tells Anne her son wants to be a soldier, and Anne laughs it off and says war is a thing of the past; Anne sees the shadow of the cross over Walter's bed and wonders at it in the future as she grieves; there's our subtle poppy moment, where Walter spills poppies, the symbol of WWI, and Anne muses on how they only have a day to live. Anne of Ingleside reads like one last happy summer day before the long gray winter of WWI, which saves it from being too humdrum a story.

The only thought I had rewatching this scene of Phoebe in Wonderland was this quote:
"Kindred spirits are not so scarce as I used to think. It’s splendid to find out there are so many of them in the world." L. M. Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables

Title: OUTNUMBERED
HELLO! This is my 8th Whumptober story! Can't believe we're here already. This will also be about Rumbelle. Hope you enjoy! You can also read it on AO3!
Posting Day: 8
Prompt Day 8: Outnumbered
Fandom: Once Upon a Time
Characters: Belle, Rumplestiltskin, soldiers
The master and his little maid heard a few loud knocks at the front gates of the Dark Castle, which interrupted their usual evening conversation over tea. Every evening, the two would meet in the Great Hall or in the woman's library and would either sit down to discuss, or simply to be in each other's presence as one sat down to read and the other occupied the stool to spin. It had become an almost sacred ritual of theirs, which neither Belle, nor Rumplestiltskin dared put a pause to, since the two cherished their moments of privacy and their friendship had started to deepen so during her stay in the castle. They looked at one another as Belle shut her book down and placed it aside and Rumplestiltskin ceased his spinning and stood up from his stool.
They gazed at each other, communicating without a word, and decided to head to the gates together and check on who it might be awaiting on the other side. The sorcerer headed her way, offering his hand for the woman to grab as she stood up and walked away from the comfort of their Great Hall and towards the foyer, in front of the gates. Rumple signaled Belle to stand one or two steps behind him, yet she stood right by his side, determination evident in her expression. Still, he placed an arm around her so as to be able to protect her in case the people outside had any ill-intent towards the two.
Rumplestiltskin poofed the gates wide open and noticed a soldier standing still, hand on the hilt of his sword, donning a foreign uniform. Belle squeezed his arm, her features showing she recognized whoever or whatever was in front of them and perhaps why, but before she could mutter a word, the soldier began to speak. "On behalf of the kingdom of Avonlea, I have come here to rescue princess Belle of Avonlea" he spoke, the tone of his voice so flat, devoid of any feeling, yet clearly bent on completing his duty. Belle stood even straighter and took one step forward, all the while letting one of her hands reach for the man standing besides her. "I am in need of no rescuing. I have come here willingly, signed a deal of my own accord and now live here of my own free will" Belle spoke out loud, making her intentions as clear as she could, standing stoic and brave. While the sorcerer wished to jump at her defense, he allowed her to do whatever she was doing, seeing as she had it all under control. The surprise taking over his features at the sound of her words was visible if only for a moment, before he schooled his features into perfect neutrality.
"We have been requested to return you to your father, princess" the soldier once again addressed her, his face devoid of any expression, yet clearly hinting at something more. Before they could figure out what game they were playing, more soldiers have appeared from the bushes and beyond the gates, quickly filling up the front steps and the pathway behind them. Her eyes widened and Rumplestiltskin let out a dry laugh as he noticed the reinforcements Avonlea had provided, all very admirable, yet clearly pointless. "You are outnumbered. The princess has to come with us" the head soldier, possibly the general of the mission, said, hand grasping the hilt of the sword, ready for battle. Belle's eyes widened at the sight, complete shock and utter annoyance taking over her as she stood by her friend's side, analyzing the situation.
"I am not coming! I signed a deal with Rumplestiltskin, of my own free will, we have agreed upon the terms in the throne room, with my father as witness to it all. I, of my own accord, decided to come with Rumplestiltskin and become the caretaker of his estate, in exchange for him saving our kingdoms from the ogres that were ravaging our home and our people! Or did you forget it? Avonlea is safe and thriving now because of the deal I signed. I decided to be here and I wish to remain, as per the terms of the deal that has been agreed upon" Belle addressed the soldiers, stepping into the position she had long left behind and forgotten, that of the royal heir of Avonlea. She stood straight, stoic, serious expression of her face, showing no cracks, speaking as clearly and loudly and with as much authority as she could muster. As true royalty and as true ruler, she addressed them clearly, proudly, taking aback even the sorcerer who was trying to protect her. He had never seen her in such a position of power, so fittingly a leader and so righteously a queen of her own accord, and he thought there was no need for a crown to be placed upon her head to make those who saw her kneel and swear fealty in an instant to the incredible woman in front of them. Hell, he would have kneeled and placed his brow upon the floor as a sign of true fealty and respect for Belle if he didn't have a reputation to uphold in front of the soldiers on their steps.
The soldiers did not let themselves be driven away. "You are outnumbered. We have exact orders, Your Highness, to bring you back to Avonlea, safe and unharmed" the front solider addressed her once more, no shift in his expression. At the signal of the commander, they took their sword out of their sheaths at the same time. Before Belle could react in any way, the front man grabbed her arm, ready to pull her away from the Dark Castle. The woman let out a shriek, immediately stepping on his foot as hard as she could with her heels and punching the man across the face with her free arm. Rumplestiltskin immediately waved his hand and made them all disappear, catching her as she ran back inside the safety of the castle. She looked around, seeing nobody on their front step, and turned her gaze around to look at him, confusion written on her face. "What did you do to them? Where are they?" She asked curiously, stretching her hand a little as she watched him.
"They are perfectly fine, dearie. Back in their kingdom, right at the front doors of your palace" Rumplestiltskin reassured her and looked over her to make sure she hadn't been hurt in any way by that bastard that had grabbed her.
"I'm alright, Rumple. He didn't manage to hurt me. Although I think I may have left him with a bruise" Belle said, letting out an amused giggle as she straightened up her skirts.
"Where did you learn to throw such a punch, Your Royal Highness?" Rumplestiltskin inquired, pronouncing the title quite sarcastically, for surely he had never encountered many royals who would or could fight back in such a manner.
"You did not think me defenseless, now did you, Rumplestiltskin? I was taught by my mother, who wished to make sure her daughter would be able to get out of more...delicate situations" Belle replied with a grin as she locked her arm with his and headed back towards the Great Hall. If it was anything that he was certain of, it was that his little maid would always find one way or another to somehow render him speechless.

Yandere Gilbert Blythe x reader
I only write sfw, feel free to make requests. Forced relationship. Kinda Yan if you squinting idk.
"Gilbert Blythe." You could taste the sourness of his name on your tongue as you spit it out.
"Y/N L/N." He mocked. His usual smirk plastered his face.
He was one of the top kids in your class at school and one of the most popular boys. Your friends, Ruby and Anne, were obsessed with him. Ruby was more open about it than Anne, but Anne's feelings were obvious.
If it weren't for them you might have caught something for him too. Of course it'd be difficult to feel anything but guilt if you were to. That doesn't mean you avoided him though. You often talked and joked with him. You weren't best buds but you weren't strangers(it'd be next to impossible to be in a town like Avonlea).
Besides, you were sure your parents would find a partner for you. Your parents have always wanted you to focus on your studies so they had always reassured you that they'd handle your marriage. You didn't mind it that much. You don't think they'll choose someone small minded, or far away, and you know they wouldn't choose someone who'd interfere with you going to college and living your life the way you want to.
But this bothered you. This made your stomach turn.
There he was. Standing on your front porch, with a bouquet of random flowers.
"Oh, Y/N, let the boy in!" Your mother chattered. She pushed you to the side and opened the door wider for him. "Welcome, Gilbert." She chirped.
"Thank you, Mrs. L/N." Gilbert stepped inside of your home. He removed his coat and hat and started towards you. "These are for you, Y/N." He handed you the flowers. You could see your mother's glare from behind Gilbert's curly head, urging you to be polite.
"Thank you, Gilbert." You accepted the flowers and moved to the kitchen to find something to put them in, rolling your eyes when you turn away from him.
When you came back your mother, father, older brother, and Gilbert were all sitting in the foyer.
"Y/N, stop standing around." Your mother smiled slyly. "Have a seat next to Gilbert." You looked over to the seat next to Gilbert. There were open seats next to both your mother, and brother. She was clearly up to something.
Of course it'd be rude to not take the seat after being told to do so, so you sat down next to him.
As you were fixing your dress to free it of small wrinkles in the skirt your father cleared his throat.
"Ahem, uh-" he awkwardly sat up. "We have something to tell you." He had a weird but proud smile on his face as he looked at your mother, brother, and then finally, you. His hand gestures over to Gilbert. "Would you like to tell her, Gilbert?" He asked.
Gilbert's face became flushed. He laughed shyly. He looked down at his hands in his lap then turned to you.
"Well, Y/N." He grabbed your hands, his thumb rubbing the back of your right hand gently. "Recently, I had asked your parents for your hand in marriage."
Gilbert was looking in your eyes but yours had gone blank. You were puzzled. Perplexed. You knew your parents were looking for someone, and you knew Gilbert would get an automatic yes from them, but why was Gilbert asking you? Why not Ruby? Or Anne? Or literally anyone else. You couldn't marry him. That'd only be a betrayal against your friends. You had only thought that your mother invited him so he might consider you, but you didn't imagine he would.
You realized you had been silent for too long when Gilbert was waving his hand in front of your face. Before you could properly think you blurted out;
"No!" Slapping his hand out of your face. Gilbert pulled his hand to his chest. You hadnt hurt him but it was a surprise. You turn to your mother. "You didn't tell him I would marry him, did you?"
Your mother was shocked, mouth agape and all.
"Well, of course we did." Your father said, still wide eyed from your reaction.
You could see your brother trying to hold back his laughter.
"Oh bite your tongue." Your mother spouted at him.
Without saying anything, you rose from your seat and began walking up to your room. Closing the door behind you, and falling to the ground.
You can hear your family in the living room.
"She's just being dramatic, Gilbert." You heard your brother reassure him.
"We're terribly sorry Gilbert." Your mother continued after.
"It's no problem." Gilbert said. "We can try again another day."
"Yes, I'm sure she'll come around." Your dad chimed in.
Clearly, they had not gotten the hint that you were unhappy with this situation. Each of them took turns throughout the night knocking on your door and trying to get even an ounce of a reaction. Each try was futile.
The next day you remained silent. You didn't even eat breakfast. You just walked past your family and out the door.
When you got to school the message board was surrounded. Diana ran to you as you got to the door.
"Hello, Diana." You said, exasperatedly.
"Y/N. What's this about? Are you really marrying Gilbert?" She said. She seemed more concerned than upset. She'd support you no matter what but that doesn't mean she could hold back Ruby or Anne from reacting poorly. Luckily they hadn't gotten to school yet.
"What?" You dropped your books and ran to the message board.
After pushing past a group of people you reached the board. There it was. The only note on the board.
"Gilbert and Y/N are engaged to be married."
You were fuming! You knew exactly who did this. You tore the note from the board and pushed back out of the group of people as you stormed inside.
"I'm not marrying you!" You threw the crumpled up note at the back of Gilbert's head. The class members inside turned and watched.
Gilbert's hands shot up in defense as he turned to face you.
"Who said I wrote the note?" He smirked. Your face turned red with fury.
"You are so smug and inconsiderate!" You scoffed.
"And you're beautiful when you're angry." Gilbert nodded at you teasingly.
You couldn't even think of a response besides storming away. The rest of class you could feel Gilbert's eyes shooting at you, along with every other girls, besides Rubys, who still had zero idea of the event that occurred before she got to school.
You were thankful that everyone, including Billy and Josie Pye, were quiet about the incident during lunch. You were also thankful to have a peaceful, Gilbert free lunch in the girls corner.
But of course your peace could not last forever.
You had hoped to stick close to Diana and Anne on their walks home but the second Gilbert came up it was like they handed you to him on a silver platter. Anne letting him take you was the most confusing part.
Gilbert made it painfully obvious that he wanted you to hook arms with him as you walked, making a small triangle that stuck out of his side with his arm. Of course you ignored it and stormed ahead.
"Would you slow down?" Gilbert piped, chasing after you like a lost puppy.
"Why should I? You've got long legs. You should certainly be able to keep up." You tried to pick up your pace but honestly it was getting tiring and you could feel your own breath getting ragged.
Gilbert's hand reached up and caught yours, clasping his fingers around yours, stopping you in your tracks.
"Because chasing you makes me seem like some kind of monster and walking together is far more enjoyable." He pulled your hand up and kissed your knuckles.
"Perhaps it's enjoyable for you, Mr. Blythe, but currently, I do see you as a monster." You pulled your hand from his face but did not break free from the hand hold.
"And what makes me a monster?" He began walking again, at a very slow pace as you followed alongside him.
"This whole marriage business for one;" You began. "I didn't think you were the type to force a girl to marry you, Mr. Blythe."
"Would you have said yes if I had asked?" He was nervous for your answer. His jaw clenched and his left brow quirked up.
"No, but I am not saying yes now either." Gilbert looked a little disappointed but shook it off before you could notice. "I think I've made it clear that I don't wish to marry you, Mr. Blythe."
"You know when we get married you won't be able to call me Mr. Blythe anymore, right?" He teased, trying to change the topic. You just gave him a sour look and no reply. Gilbert cleared his throat then tried again. "I was thinking we could have the ceremony in spring. Would you like that?"
"Hypothetically, I'd prefer an early fall wedding." You replied, half heartedly.
"Then that's what we'll have. A nice, fall wedding." Gilbert gently squeezed your hand and stepped closer.
As the weeks passed you slowly noticed changes in your friends, especially Ruby. Her already dwindling gaze towards Gilbert had shifted in full throttle towards Moody and she repeatedly made small hints at giving you her blessing with the engagement. You tried to tell her that there was nothing between you and Gilbert but she just kept giving you little thumbs up as you would leave with him each day.
Anne also began acting strangely. Despite your persistent denial she insisted that she supported you.
It was like all of Avonlea was on Gilbert's side; rooting for him; rooting against you.
Sure, the guilt would be gone now, seeing as your friends no longer hold feelings for him, but now there was a whole new reason.
You didn't have a choice. You couldn't oppose the marriage and you couldn't consent. Gilbert was nice but he wasn't nice enough to break off the engagement.
After a while of begging you got an idea. It was a horrible and inconvenient idea. Even the thought of it made you feel like a vixen. But it had to be done. The engagement had been finalized and this was the only way to break it off.
Your plan wasn't that hard to come up with either. Tell the girls you have feelings for one of the other boys, don't say who, and ruin your own reputation. If you were known to be someone who wishes to be with other while already "taken" then there would be no reason to continue with the marriage.
Then, during college, once everything blows over and you're free again, you can find someone you truly love.
When lunch came around you made your grand confession and all of the girls looked at you as if you had just told them the most shocking news ever. By the end of the day most of the girls had told their parents, friends, siblings, etc.
By the time word had gotten back to Gilbert he was bewildered and, though he would hate to admit it, angry.
You felt proud walking out of your house the next morning after having been chewed out by your whole family.
"Now it'll be impossible to find a good Avonlea boy for you."
"You really screwed that one up."
"Why won't you just accept Gilbert?"
If gossip was good somewhere, it was Avonlea.
You felt proud, that is, until you made it down the steps of your porch, seeing Gilbert smelling the flowers that lined the railing. When we noticed you he stood up and snaked his arm around yours.
"Good morning dear." He's greeted as he started walking.
"Good morning Mr. Blythe." Why was he here. He should be at school for his morning classes or anywhere but in front of your home.
"Gilbert." He said. "It's been a while since you called me Gilbert."
You rolled your eyes at that, although you were still quite nervous.
"Gilbert, why are you here so early?" You asked.
"I have no plans of canceling the engagement." This stopped you in your tracks, stopping Gilbert along with you.
"Why not?"
"I know you made it up." His free hand went to your face, cupping your cheek. "I love you Y/N. I don't care how many people tell me to cancel it. I need you."
This wouldve been a sweet confession if it all hadn't been forced upon you. Instead, it felt like you had only dug yourself further into the ground. Of course Gilbert would know you lied, he's the smartest in the class, and of course he wouldn't care what others thought of you, that's how he is.
You felt stupid.
Stupid and trapped.

I love the way you write the headcanons about the First Years + Ortho going to the reader's world! Could you do the same with the Second Years, please?

Riddle Rosehearts
Favorite Country/City: He would love to go visit Stratford-Upon-Avon in England, as he is one to enjoy being in the city of one of the most famous playwrights and authors in history: William Shakespeare. Also, there is tea available at most shops, so he will still be able to follow the Queen of Hearts’ rules.
Favorite Cuisine/Dish: Again, his favorite dish is strawberry tarts, and they apparently originate in France as tarts were used to showcase the seasonal not-berries. That aside, he also does appreciate French cuisine as a whole.
Favorite Drink: Again, he enjoys tea, but I think he would like strawberry lemonade. More specifically, the strawberry lemonade from those restaurants that put those slices of strawberries into the drink.
Favorite Souvenir: A small Shakespeare bust that he can place on a bookshelf as a book holder.
Favorite Singers/Songs: He absolutely loves classical music, specifically from the Classical Era. He prefers the classics: Bach, Beethoven, Marianna Martines, etc. Favorite song would be Für Elise, by Ludwig van Beethoven.
Favorite Movie: The Phantom of the Opera, but the 1927 silent film version.

Ruggie Bucchi
Favorite Country/City: I originally was going to say that he would have liked Luxembourg because it’s one of the richest countries in the world, but I decided that would be too easy. I feel like he would love to go to Cairo in Egypt. It’s very rich in history and culture, and I’ve heard they have good food (someone confirm, plz).
Favorite Cuisine/Dish: His favorite food is donuts, and I looked it up and they apparently originate from either Ancient Greece/Rome or Medieval Arab chefs. That being said, either cuisines (Greek, Italian, or Middle Eastern) would be his favorite. He has a very diverse palate.
Favorite Drink: Depending on if he prefers coffee or tea, he would like either Mazboot or even Zjada coffee, or karkade (please correct me on any of this, I am not from the Middle East and have never been so if it’s incorrect you can tell me. Got this info from online).
Favorite Souvenir: A small, handmade pot that he found at one of the markets. He thought it looked interesting and thus purchased it. The vendor was really kind as well.
Favorite Singers/Songs: This is kind of hard, but AMERICAN HORROR SHOW by SNOW WIFE would be his favorite, meaning hyperpop would be his favorite genre. He gives me TikTok boy vibes for some reason, and he would also like most songs that popped up on his FYP.
Favorite Movie: Lion King, and I’m not trying to be funny. He just likes the “It’s not funny, Ed”, where Ed erupts even more into laughter. It makes him snicker a bit as well. Maybe I was trying to be funny.
Tumblr media
Azul Ashengrotto
Favorite Country/City: He would love the township of Cavendish in Prince Edward Island, Canada. It’s got the ocean, it’s got the small town vibes, and it inspired L.M. Montgomery’s fictional town of Avonlea in Anne of Green Gables. Speaking of, he would totally resonate with Anne because they both entered a society that they weren’t knowledgeable of the norms of.
Favorite Cuisine/Dish: Because he loves fried chicken, I would say his favorite cuisine is that of the Southern United States. You can’t go wrong with coleslaw, cornbread, green beans, mashed potatoes, and Southern hospitality.
Favorite Drink: Iced Tea, specifically from the Southern states as well. If we’re talking about cocktails, then Long Island Iced Tea would be his go-to. However, he prefers to drink at home because he doesn’t have to call anyone to pick him up.
Favorite Souvenir: It’s stated that he likes collecting coins, so yeah.
Favorite Singers/Songs: This man loves Elvis Presley’s music, and no one can fight me on this. He’s a bit of a hopeless romantic, so he loves either Heartbreak Hotel or Can’t Help Falling in Love is his favorite song.
Favorite Movie: Romeo and Juliet, the one starring Leonardo DiCaprio. The movie’s great, the actor not so much. He’s a bit of a hopeless romantic, as I stated before, so he would very much like a Romeo to his Juliet. Mans wants to be in a tower with a window sill and he wants someone to be standing below to talk to in a romantic way.
Tumblr media
Jade Leech
Favorite Country/City: He loved going scuba diving in the Mariana Trench, and since the Trench is located between Hawaii and the Philippines, I think he would love staying in the Philippines. The city he favors would be Boracay, even though it’s in the middle of the Philippine Islands and a bit further from the East.
Favorite Cuisine/Dish: His favorite dish is octopus carpaccio, and it’s kind of obvious that it’s Italian. He does enjoy Italian cuisine as a whole as well. However, if we are taking the octopus components of the dish, then I believe he would also be a lover of Japanese cuisine.
Favorite Drink: It is recommended that with octopus carpaccio, you should have a Pinot noir, and he agrees. However, if he’s just going to a bar, he would order a limoncello spritz. It’s typically a post-dinner drink, and he likes the lemon flavor along with the kind-of-like-soda, kind-of-like-wine game that the drink offers him.
Favorite Souvenir: He loves smaller, easily portable trinkets, so as basic as it is he loves collecting keychains and magnets. His favorite keychain is a shell that had a hole in it, and a small child actually handed it to him out of nowhere. He got a ring and attached it to his backpack.
Favorite Singers/Songs: His favorite song is 24 / 7 / 365, by Surfaces. It’s laidback, it’s chill, and he likes it. Songs that remind him of the beach are ones that he likes. He plays it when he’s attending to his terrariums.
Favorite Movie: Jaws, and none of the sequels. All the sequels suck. He has watched the first Jaws so many times that he sings along with Quint when he starts singing “Farewell and Adieu You Fair Spanish Ladies”.
Tumblr media
Floyd Leech
Favorite Country/City: He wants to go places where he can do things whenever it strikes him. He would also want to go somewhere with clear water. Thus, I believe he would love to go to Tahiti. There’s a market, he can go scuba diving with whales and sharks, he can go surfing, he can go to the museum, and if he wants to stay in his hotel room then he can.
Favorite Cuisine/Dish: His favorite dish is Takoyaki, so I think it’s safe to assume that he likes Japanese cuisine. However, it is stated that shiitake mushrooms come from mountainous regions in China, Japan, Indonesia, and Taiwan, so he likes any dishes without the mentioned mushrooms.
Favorite Drink: As funny as it is, Sex on the Beach, as it’s a summer drink that he loves to enjoy on the beach. Also, he has the emotional maturity of a 7th grade boy, and the name was hilarious to him.
Favorite Souvenir: Two little figurines of a guy and a girl dancing with each other. They fit together in a way that was complex, making it a puzzle of sorts.
Favorite Singers/Songs: Either Laffy Taffy or Sneaky Link 2.0 are his favorite songs. This man is searching for his Mrs. Bubblegum. He is looking to be somebody’s sneaky link. He lives for drama, and no one can tell me otherwise.
Favorite Movie: The Meg, because who doesn’t love a giant, prehistoric shark that escapes from the gaseous layer at the bottom of the Mariana Trench? He has sharp teeth like the megalodon, and he likes the jumpscare where the shark jumps up.
Tumblr media
Kalim Al-Asim
Favorite Country/City: He loves tropical areas, but he loved the Bahamas and the capital of Nassau the most. The resort there was great, and the people were very friendly. It was a laid back time, and it was not even a five minute walk to the beach. Plus, coconuts grow there apparently (correct me if I’m wrong), and coconut juice is his favorite food.
Favorite Cuisine/Dish: A lot of Thai food, specifically the desserts, use the flesh of the coconut, so I think I have substantial evidence to say that he does like Thai food. He would be very hesitant to try Thai curry, though… unless he had somebody to try it with him.
Favorite Drink: Piña Colada, doesn’t matter if it’s virgin or not. He loves the song that accompanies it as well. Anyways, the drink is a very fruit-filled drink. He thinks it’s the right amount of sweetness, so he loves to enjoy it.
Favorite Souvenir: A singular photograph, as he somehow found himself involved in a volunteer program and he took a picture with children from one of the villages he was volunteering at.
Favorite Singers/Songs: He also likes songs that remind him of the beach, and I stated that he probably likes the song Escape (The Piña Colada Song), but it’s not his favorite. His favorite song would be Celebration, by Maffio, Farruko, and Akon (feat. Ky-Mani Marley).
Favorite Movie: I have a feeling that he would love the movie Shrek. It’s funny, a lot of memes have been made from all the movies, all the sequels are great. What’s not to love about the movie(s)?
Tumblr media
Jamil Viper
Favorite Country/City: He gives me a vibe that I resonate with on the historical front, so I would think he would like to visit somewhere in the Middle East, as that is where ancient Mesopotamia was. Specifically, he would love to visit Ur, in Iraq. Not only is it located in a desert (familiar territory), but it’s one of (if not the) first cities in the world.
Favorite Cuisine/Dish: Unlike Kalim, he loves curry, so that gives me reason to believe that he would enjoy Indian cuisine the most. Syrian food comes in second for him (I spend a lot of time at my friend’s Syrian house and they make good food… I’m hungry now).
Favorite Drink: This was difficult, but I feel like he would move towards margaritas, and not just because of the song. Because curry can be spicy, I would say he likes a spicy margarita as well. His favorite non-alcoholic drink would be a mangonada.
Favorite Souvenir: All the books he picked up to learn different languages. He learned along the way as well, and all of the books have annotations within them so he has them for future reference.
Favorite Singers/Songs: He likes breakdancing, so he likes any song he can breakdance to. I am not very involved within this genre of music, so after doing some research I have come to the conclusion that he would love the song The Witch, by the Bamboos.
Favorite Movie: Footloose, as it’s a movie about dancing and rock music being banned. He saw it because it looked interesting, and he learned the Footloose dance. Also, the song Holdin’ Out For a Hero makes him feel like he wants to be someone’s hero.
Tumblr media
Silver
Favorite Country/City: Carrickfergus, as it holds the Carrickfergus Castle. It may be a Norman castle, but it’s because of the history (and the fact that he may be based off of both the Princess and the Prince and thus deserves a castle {personal opinion}) that he enjoys his time in the town.
Favorite Cuisine/Dish: This is the first time I’ve actually dove into investigating Silver’s likes and dislikes, and apparently he likes mushroom risotto, which is thought to originate from the Italian region of Lombardy.
Favorite Drink: He strikes me as the type to like wine, and not the bitter stuff. He likes sweeter wines, especially white wines as they pair nicely with the risotto he loves.
Favorite Souvenir: A journal, in which he writes about his many journeys around the world.
Favorite Singers/Songs: I think he is a Swiftie. That being said, his favorite song would be Love Story, as he is looking for his Juliet. However, he is not one of those over-excited fans who will tear someone up for saying they don’t like Taylor Swift’s songs. He will just judge them quietly.
Favorite Movie: Gladiator, partially for the plot, partially for Russel Crowe. It reminds him of the training he had to go through as a knight.

Warmth —(Gilbert Blythe xF!Reader)
A tough winter had fallen upon Avonlea that year, the snow would pile against the windows stopping any kind of light to enter anyone’s home, and even if they’d managed to shovel it out of the way, there was no sunlight to reward them for their tough efforts.
However, this weather benefited a few who, in love and with time to spare, needed little excuses to waste their mornings in bed.
Gilbert and you had woken up to a gloomy morning, but instead of letting it ruin your mood, you took it as an excuse to wrap your arms around your lover and nuzzle your face against his chest.
“It’s so cold,” you muttered against him, “let’s stay in bed all day...”
“I have patients, dear...”
“Oh, like anyone would leave their homes just so you could take a look at their runny noses,” you grumbled.
“What if they have an emergency?”
“We just installed the phone,” you retorted stubbornly, “if they need you desperately, they’ll know where to find you.”
“Y/N...”
“Have some pity, Gilbert boy,” you poked his ribs, “your poor wife is begging you to stay and keep her warm. What if you leave her all alone and she ends up with the worst cold of her life?”
Gilbert chuckled. “Well, we can’t have that, can we?”
“Indeed,” you continued. “Did you know there’s an old proverb that goes ‘shoemakers' children go barefoot and doctors' wives die young’?”
“Really?” He frowned. “That’s certainly not what I want for us.”
“And that’s precisely why you’ll stay right here, cuddling your wife until she’s all warm and sleepy again.”
Gilbert tilted your chin up so you would look at him. “I guess I can take one day off.”
You moved closer and kissed him lightly, his hand moved from your chin to the side of your neck and deepened the kiss. A little sigh escaped your lips and your fingers went to his curls, holding onto them, gently at first, and then a bit more desperate.
“I’ve missed you,” you mumbled against him.
“I’m right here,” he replied, frowning a little.
“Today, yes, but you’ve been visiting your patients every day from dusk to dawn,” you moved away and cupped his cheek, “and I’m so proud but... the house feels so lonely when I come back from my errands and you’re not here.”
Gilbert’s eyes softened. “I didn’t know you felt that way, I always thought you were quite... self-sufficient.”
“Oh, I am,” you frowned, “that doesn’t mean I don’t love and long for my husband’s attentions.”
“You long?” He adopted a teasing tone. “Poor thing...” he kissed your forehead, “so abandoned...” then your nose, “with so much love to give...”
His lips traveled to your neck and left a trail of kisses down your throat, his teeth bore into the curve of your shoulder, causing you to gasp.
“I’ve missed you too...” he whispered against your skin, “my sweet wife...”
“Please...” you whined, keeping his head in place.
“Yes, dear?” He kissed your shoulder. “What do you need?”
“You... just you.”
“But how do you want me?”
“However you decide, just don’t stop,” you concluded, pulling him back to your lips.
Gilbert quickly got to work, he pushed your camisole up and snuck a hand between your bodies, cupping your center.
“You’re warm,” he lowered his face and breathed in your scent. “Are my hands too cold?”
“N-no,” you shifted in your place to give him better access, “you’re perfect.”
“You’re perfect,” he retorted, “so soft...” his hand slowly traveled up and cupped one of your breasts, “so easy to arouse...”
“Gilbert,” you sighed.
“I know,” he cooed, “I’m getting there.”
His lips left your neck and moved down, kissing and sucking the soft skin on your other breast. His digits pinched and massaged your nipple, he switched his attentions from one breast to the other, lightly grinding his hips against yours.
Your hands grasped the edge of his sleeping pants and pushed them down slightly, the light patch of hair at the base of his stomach making you moan at the sight.
Gilbert silently took off his clothes, taking his time so you had a moment to appreciate him properly, then he placed himself between your legs and helped you sit, pulling the camisole completely off your body.
“Look at me,” he asked lowly, you obliged right away, “give me your hand.”
You did. Gilbert took it with one of his and gently guided you to his member. He gave glanced at you to make sure you were okay with this, and you pecked his lips as a response. His free hand went to the back of your head and kept you close to his mouth. Your noses brushed, the room started to feel warm all of a sudden.
Your fingers wrapped around him the way you knew he liked, Gilbert let out a soft groan the moment you started moving. His hand abandoned your wrist and looked for your center, you spread your legs a bit more and he pushed his hand forward, finding your sensitive nub and rubbing against it.
“There we go,” you felt him smiling, “ride my fingers, Y/N.”
He slipped one finger inside you, then two, and after barely a few minutes you had three of his fingers thrusting in and out of you. Your hand squeezed him lightly, thumb circling his tip while your other hand clung to his thigh.
Your moans were mixing together, your mouths so close you could even imagine each breath he took going through yours.
“I love what you’re doing... but I need you around me,” he spoke, almost begging.
“Do it,” you replied, pulling him so he laid on top of you.
Gilbert took his fingers out and licked them clean without breaking eye contact. He spread your legs open entirely and lined himself with your entrance.
“You’re soaked,” he said in awe, running his tip up and down your folds.
“All for you, Gilbert boy,” you replied charmingly.
He held your hand and kissed your knuckles, then he gently dropped it beside you and held onto your thighs, driving into you firmly. Gilbert moved so now your chests were brushing against each other, your legs wrapped around him, desperate to push him deeper inside you.
“Do that again,” he moaned.
You moved your legs again, but this time your hand went up to his curls and pulled lightly, Gilbert’s face was pure bliss.
“Such a good husband,” you panted, “so good to me...”
“Do you like it when I’m inside you?” He whispered. “Does it feel good?”
“So good, my dear,” you kissed his jaw, “don’t stop...”
Gilbert placed a hand next to your head for leverage and started to move faster, you were moaning non-stop, almost screaming his name. He was getting closer, but he wanted you to finish with him, so he snuck a hand between you and rubbed tight circles around your clit.
“Oh—! Yes! Don’t stop, Gilbert, please...”
“Wouldn’t dream of it, sweetheart,” he said breathing harshly.
It took him a moment, but eventually, you started to clench around him and he knew it was time. He looked for your lips blindly and drowned your moans as you came, and in exchange, you muffled his low growls and whimpers as he finished inside you.
His thrusts slowed down until he was practically still above you. Your hands ran through his hair lovingly.
“You’re okay?” You asked him quietly.
Gilbert lifted his face, a healthy blush on his cheeks and a youthful shine on his eyes. “I’m more than okay.”
You smiled at him. “Good. Are you happy you stayed?”
“Happy?” He asked in disbelief. Gilbert shifted and started to leave kisses all over your face with each word he said. “You are the most wonderful woman on earth— I love you so much.”
You giggled, stopping his attack by cupping his face and pulling him toward your lips. “I love you too.”
“Are you hungry?”
“No. But I am a bit sleepy.”
The young man carefully moved out of you to lay beside you, wrapping his arms around your figure and pulling you closer. “Let’s go back to sleep then. It’s still early.”
“Okay... and Gilbert?”
“Hmm?”
“I meant what I said before. I’m very proud of what you do to help others, so don’t ever feel guilty for doing so. What I said was just so I convinced you to stay today.”
“I know,” he chuckled, “thank you, Y/N.”
“I love you.”
“I love you more.”

Can you write Gilbert x fem!reader courting Headcannons?
Gilbert Blythe x Reader
[FLUFF]
- - -
we all know Gilbert is a gentleman
he would never dare do or say anything to make you uncomfortable
that being said, he was always careful around you; whether it's a chaperoned meeting or not
for example the first time he suggested that he walk you home he made sure to choose his words wisely
"if you would like, could I please walk you home?" he said quietly so no one heard
he didn't want you to have the pressure of people watching you in case you didn't accept his offer
"you're more than welcome to decline," he added, a smile appearing on his face
he knew that sometimes the boys in the school felt entitled, so he feared that you would say yes out of politeness or necessity
however, you two almost being adults now and finishing school, he decided he would just make a move already, not even caring if he was rejected - at least that way he would know he needed to move on
"it would be my pleasure to have you escort me home," you responded
you had been waiting for this moment ever since Tilly had started getting noticed by boys
the two boys fighting over Tilly's attention caused a domino effect of all the guys acting on their affections
it was only a matter of time before Gilbert finally swallowed his pride and asked you
everybody had a subconscious inkling that they should not ask to walk you home - obviously Gilbert lay no claim over you, as did no one else, but it has been a long going theory that you two would end up together
so, as you two walked home, Gilbert holding your basket in his left hand, and your arm holding onto his right elbow, practically the whole school stood watching
whispers of "i knew it!" and "you owe me" could be heard amongst them
"alright, alright, everybody make your way home now," said miss stacey as she tried to get through the big group of students blocking the doorway
now onto the serious business
Gilbert had wanted to meet your parents as soon as possible since it was the proper and gentlemanly thing to do
he brought hand picked flowers for your mother, offering her a kind smile and a bow as he was welcomed inside
a beautiful pink tulip stood in his own jacket pocket as he presented it to you
"for the beautiful lady," he said
your parents, of course, loved him
there was nothing to dislike
him and your father babbled on about farm work and business plans
him and your mother talked about school and studies, him mentioning how he wanted to become a doctor
this undoubtedly impressed them
"a doctor! oh how pleasant - where are you planning to study?" they asked frantically
you begged them to not bombard him with questions but he assured you it was okay
the night ended with Gilbert promising to return, letting your mother know he would bring her some of Sebastian's spices for his next visit
come spring, Gilbert invited you to join him at the carnival
this was your first chaperoned visit outside the home, so it was quite a big deal
it was also the first time you'd officially confirm to Avonlea that you two were courting
you were nervous to say the least
you had worn your best dress, and finally being old enough, your mother helped you put on your corset
you looked positively sophisticated
your hat placed gently on your head, you climbed into the carriage, Gilbert grasping your hand in his to help you up as he followed soon after
it was no surprise to the citizens of Avonlea that you came together, however the presence of the Charlottetown people and others from beyond the county had made you feel overwhelmed
you hooked your arm around Gilbert's, letting him lead you deeper into the festivities
feeling your worry he placed his hand upon yours, squeezing it ever so slightly before letting go
the rest of the evening was filled with him competing in games just to win you little gifts
on one instance he came up to you, face smug with his hands hidden behind his back
"pick a side"
"hmm... left," you had said
he revealed his left hand, showing that it was empty
this was followed by him popping out his right hand with a little fluffy dog plushie as he shook it slightly in his hand
"wrong. i guess i get to keep it now," he said sarcastically
you laughed at his antics, slapping his arm affectionately
there was never a dull moment that day, especially with him complimenting you each and every moment
all of Avonlea (and more) now knew that you and Gilbert were taken, and if it wasn't obvious by anything else that i've said, it definitely became evident by the 5 millionth time that Gilbert would introduce you to people as "charming", "gorgeous", "lovely" or any other word in his expansive vocabulary
he is the king of praising istg he would not shut up about you the whole night
Gilbert made sure to always let you know that he only ever had his eyes on you, and that no woman could ever compare to you
he had a way to make you always feel special
whether it be finding flowers for you, cooking for you, helping you study, etc.
your first ever unchaperoned visit came a while after
it was after you guys had graduated and received your exam results
your parents felt you were old and mature enough, and they trusted Gilbert wholeheartedly to let you finally have tea together
Gilbert decided to take you to a beautiful café in Charlottetown called Great Aunt Anne's
he of course insisted on paying even though you told him it wasn't necessary
"what kind of a future husband would I be if I didn't make sure my lady was taken care of?"
future husband
at this you blushed deeply, just now realizing that he planned on proposing eventually
it didn't hit you until now but this newfound knowledge made you excited for your future with him
the date consisted of many laughs and jokes, your conversations leading you anywhere and everywhere
once dessert arrived he plucked a piece of whipped cream off his pie and smushed it onto your nose, laughing as he did so
"so childish, Blythe," you had said
at the end he escorted you home on the train, and waited with you for your carriage to come
you told him you'd be okay on your own from here but he didn't feel comfortable making you go home on your own
so as he walked you to your door, his hand itching to hold yours, he stopped you in your tracks to turn you towards him
"I meant what I said," he started, "I do intend to marry you one day. maybe not now, or any time soon, but if you'll have me, I will make you a promise that one day I will be yours forever"
he leaned in slowly, his hand reaching to the back of your neck as he pulled you in
"can I?"
with a hasty nod, you pulled him in by his jacket, your lips finally meeting in desperation
you had waited so long to do that
and now as you went to your bedroom, giddy as a schoolgirl, you plopped onto your bed and sighed
being future Mrs. Blythe sounded really good to you...

Dating Gilbert was amazing. He was such a lovely guy. Even your parents adored the boy.
He was so sweet, and you two had so much in common it was like you were made for one another.
Unfortunately, his father had gotten sick and later on passed away.
You, of course, were there to comfort him with open arms. When you were at his house one day, he told you that he wanted to explore the world for some time.
As much as it made you upset for him to leave, you supported him, as you always would. You assured him that you would be find, and that it would be a wonderful experience for him.
You spent the night with him, enjoying each other's presence before he left the next day. He promised to write to you about everything and you promised to write anything interesting that happens.
Tumblr media
"Ughh," you groan dropping back onto Anne's bed.
You, Anne, Diana, and Cole were hanging out at the redheads house.
"Y/n? What's wrong?" Diana asks.
"I miss Gilbert, it feels like it's been forever," you sigh.
Cole frowns, "Well, he can't be gone for much longer, it's already been months."
Anne nods excitedly, "Exactly!"
You sit up and your mood brightens a bit, "I suppose you're right. Now shall we bake something?"
They nod and giggle as they go downstairs.
"Hi, Marilla!" you smile happily at the elder woman you've grown close with.
"Oh! Hello, dear," she smiles back.
"Hi, Ms. Cuthbert," Diana and Cole wave.
"Hello. What brings you all down here?"
"We were wondering if we can bake your famous apple pie," you clap your hands.
"Oh, how can I say no to apple pie?"
Tumblr media
Gilbert runs a hand over his face as he sits on his bed next to Sebastian.
"What is the matter, my friend?"
Gilbert looks over to the man, "I miss my girlfriend," he sighs.
"Girlfriend?" He raises his eyebrows, "Is this the person you are always writing to? The one who send the letters that have you all red in the face."
Gilbert laughs, "Yeah, that would be her."
"Hm," Sebastian taps his knee. "You love this girl?"
Gilbert nods, "Very much so."
"So what are you doing here? Go back to her!"
"But..."
"Gilbert, you are a great boy. You love her and I see how upset you are without her. So go," Sebastian smiles at him.
"You're right," Gilbert falls back onto his bed.
Tumblr media
You were reading your book when you heard a knock on your door. "Mom! Who's at the door?!"
She didn't hear you, apparently, because you got no response. You huff and mark your page, putting the book aside.
You get up and run your hands over your dress. You walk downstairs and to the door. You open it and you are crushed by a hug.
"Gilbert!" You squeeze him tightly in a hug. Both of your eyes water and you pull him inside, closing the door behind you. "I missed you so much."
"I missed you too, darling," he grabs your hands.
"How are you? How was traveling? How come you're back early? How-"
He cuts you off by kissing you softly. You melt into his hold and kiss him back.
You pull away and he grins. "I'm great, now. Traveling was eye opening. And I'm back early because I came home for you. I just got back and I came straight here, I haven't even gone to my own house yet."
"I love you so much," your lips curve into a bright smile.
"I love you so much more," he kisses your head. "I have something for you," he takes something out of his pocket.
You gasp as you look at the beautiful ring in his hand. "Don't worry," he laughs, "it's not an engagement ring. It's a promise ring. To remind you that no matter where I am, we are always forever."
"Oh, Gilbert, it's wonderful. Thank you," you blow out a breath.
He takes your hand and slides it onto your ring finger. He brings your hand up to his face and kisses your palm.
He looks up into your eyes with love, "One day, I'll replace that with a real ring."

He was going to write back to you but he didn't know what to say. "Writing a letter are you" Bash asked "yeah....I don't know what to write her" Gilbert replied "its a girl" Bash asked "yeah she's back in Avonlea" Gilbert explained "why do you have a problem on what to write her" Bash asked "she just basically said she loved me in her letter and that she might be moving soon and I don't know what to do" Gilbert explained as he handed Bash the letter over. "Where is she moving to" Bash asked "to Charlotte town which isn't to far from Avonlea but it's still far..i'd have to take a train back and forth to see her if I wanted to" Gilbert explained "you want to see her" Bash asked "of course I do" Gilbert said as Bash handed him back the letter. "So tell her how much you like her if you do" Bash said as Gilbert took his writing utensil. Gilbert smiled as he wrote the note for you.

You had just walked in late to school, your eyes had very very light black circles under your eyes. Gilbert was worried sick but he wasn't surprised. Because the day before you two had got into an argument about something silly.

Gilbert was calling the wedding off for you, he had just realized that he wanted you. That he has always wanted you. "You can only know something when you know it" Gilbert told the blond haired girl. "There's another girl innit?" She asked "y-yes.....there is" Gilbert answered which only made her cry more "but it's basically unrequited love" Gilbert said trying to ease her crying, she gave him a pity laugh. "This is happening to me for unrequited love" She scoffed. N with that Gilbert ran his way to your place, he didn't care at this point if you didn't love him back. He had to tell you, he needed to tell you.

-Bash basically made a plan on how to get you two back together
-Gilbert finds out and he thanks Bash
-you two end up getting back together but it's kind of awkward at first
Tumblr media
Gilbert laughed softly as he talked to Bash, "you must like her" Bash said to him "eh....I mean she is lovely and her smile is just gorgeous and it's stupid how she hides it because she thinks her teeth make her look ugly but I don't....." Gilbert muttered as he realized. He liked you. He liked Y/n L/n. "You don't what" Bash asked "I like her" Gilbert mumbled as Bash made a small noise that he always made when he was right about something.
Tumblr media
He watched as you talked to someone, "can you take the hint I'm dating someone" you said to the guy who was flirting with you "who" the guy asked, you pointed to Gilbert "oh" the guy muttered before walking off. You two just started dating and he hadn't gotten used to it. His heart fluttered at your actions, he was still trying to process that you were his and that he was yours.
Tumblr media
The guys watched closely as Gilbert walked up to you, "with you go out with me" Gilbert asked as he smiled at you "I don't know" you muttered. All of the guys were watching you and the girls were too, you didn't want the only female friends you had to hate you because of some stupid and gorgeous, the most absolutely handsome of your school. So you said this to him, "don't tell anyone but I will but" you said strictly "but" Gilbert repeated. "It has to be a secret and I have to get to know you first" you told him making him smile but he quickly hides it "what do I say to the guys" Gilbert asked "tell them I said no" you replied.

excerpt from article about sarah polley and her experience as a child actor
Almost twenty years ago, Polley considered making a documentary about former child actors, and interviewed several adults who, like her, had been stars in grade school. In 2011, Polley told me, “My memory—and it’s a genuine memory—is that I really wanted to do it as a little, little kid, and that my parents were jaded about the industry, and they knew better and resisted, but I had a will of steel and forced my way into it.” All her interview subjects had told the same story, she explained: “There’s not a single child actor you’re going to meet who’s going to say, ‘My parents pushed me into it’even if they have terrible stories about their parents being stage parents. Shirley Temple, who started when she was a toddler, insisted that she forced her way into this. I frankly don’t believe it. And so, if I don’t believe their stories, why do I believe my own?”
Indeed, Polley’s family history belies the notion that she chose to act professionally. John Buchan, Polley’s brother, the second of two children from Diane Polley’s first marriage, told me, “We were all child actors. We can all find pictures of ourselves with our names and the color of our eyes and a phone number listed on the back.” Buchan did a little TV work, as did their sister Joanna and their brother Mark. “But, with Sarah, she hit the big one,” Buchan said.
Polley started acting at the age of five, appearing in a live-action Disney movie, “One Magic Christmas.” She was subsequently cast in many television roles, including a stint as Ramona Quimby in a series adapted from Beverly Cleary’s novels. In 1988, when Polley was nine, she played Sally Salt, the diminutive sidekick of the eponymous antihero of “The Adventures of Baron Munchausen,” a zany spectacular written and directed by Terry Gilliam, of “Monty Python” fame. Gilliam was an idol to Polley’s parents—particularly her father, Michael, who was born and raised in England.
The shoot took place largely at Cinecittà Studios, in Rome. Polley has happy memories of the city: she and her parents ate dinner every night on the Campo de’ Fiori, where she sometimes joined in with a band of roving musicians performing for tourists. The set, however, was often chaotic—and scary for a child. In one scene, she had to run through a mockup of a war-torn city as bombs exploded. The first take was terrifying enough to convince Polley that the detonations had gone awry; she ran straight into the camera, ruining the shot. For the second take, she was so frightened that she ran too fast, again rendering the scene unusable. In “Mad Genius,” an essay in her book, she writes, “I sobbed in my father’s arms in between takes and pleaded with him to intervene, to ensure I didn’t have to do it ever again. But when an assistant director came over to say they needed another take, my father said, with genuine remorse, ‘I’m afraid they have to do it again, love. I’m sorry. There’s nothing I can do.’ ” (Gilliam has said that, even if the set felt dangerous, it wasn’t.)
There were moments during her career as a child actor when adults, rather than just overlooking her vulnerability, appeared to cynically exploit it. Polley had only recently started work on “Avonlea” when her mother died—a tragedy for which, she says, she was entirely unprepared. (In her memoir, Polley writes with candid self-awareness of the gratification she took in being the pitiable child of a mother with cancer while at the same time being certain that her mother would recover.) During the show’s second season, Polley, who played a character named Sara Stanley, was presented with a scripted monologue in which her character cries over her mother’s death; unsurprisingly, she delivered an utterly persuasive performance. But the experience of this scene and others in which her character recalled her mother derailed Polley’s ability to mourn. “Because some of the first tears I shed about my mother’s death after the day she died were in aid of a performance, I was unable to produce genuine tears of grief for years to come,” she writes. In the aggressively wholesome world of “Avonlea,” which was made by Disney, Sara Stanley comes across as singularly sad, gaunt, and complicated.
Polley’s account of her life as a child performer—of being locked into extended contracts, and working “crushingly long” hours, and being beholden to adults whom she didn’t want to disappoint—raises disquieting questions about the ethics of having children act for commercial gain. Polley’s experience also underscores the fact that a child’s sense of volition—both in the moment and retrospectively—can be an expression of the sublimated desires of parents or other authority figures whom the child is eager to please. (The family, no less than the patriarchy, involves a structural imbalance of autonomy.) When Polley meets stage parents who insist that their child wants to perform, she replies, “Yes—and lots of kids want to be firefighters and doctors, too. But they must wait until they are no longer children to assume the pressures and obligations of adult work.”
