Wild to me that Jason Todd and Barbara Gordon both had their respective Joker-caused traumas happen IN THE SAME IRL YEAR, that in-universe both of them were canonically attacked to get at Batman specifically rather than attacked due to anything about themselves (okay well Babs was attacked to get at Gordon to get at Batman, but, you know), thag out-of-universe they were crippled/killed off as publicity stunts…
…and yet DC refused to let them interact once Jason was resurrected and STILL refuses to let them share page-time unless it’s in some way romantic…because there’s absolutely no way that a man and a woman could legitimately bond over shared experiences without it being in some way romantic, right?

Okay so basically the United States MINT of all people is going to be working with DC to make a line of coins! These coins sadly won't be in circulation (the things I would do to live in a world where I could get Batman coins from the supermarket) as they're collectors coins, but will be releasing over the course of the next 3 years, 2025-2027.
Designs haven't been released yet (the same is true for all 2025 designs) but we know there will be 9 coins in total (3 each year) with the first year featuring (of course!!!) Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman.
Although we know the first three heroes to be featured, the remaining six have yet to be decided, and it turns out the Mint is putting out a survey on their site to gauge which of a group of culturally significant heroes people want to see most! (link to the form is mentioned in the article above)
The considered group includes: Supergirl, the Flash, Green Arrow, Black Canary, Captain Marvel, John Stewart GL, Aquaman, Hawkman, Jamie Reyes BB, Robin (Damian?), Cyborg, and Batgirl, of which 6 will be selected.
As someone who does a bit of coin collecting myself (mainly circulation coins like the quarters sets, but I also have a couple proof and collectors coins) I think this is a really cool and interesting idea that showcases the history of the comics medium and these characters and their influence on American culture. Really excited to wait and see what the designs look like for the coins already announced!

Super Friends 50th Anniversary
In honor of the Super Friends 50th Anniversary, I'm looking back at the history of both their animated Saturday morning show and their comic book. #SuperFriends #SaturdayMornings #comics
A couple months back, a Saturday morning favorite of mine celebrated the golden jubilee of its debut as Super Friends premiered on the ABC television network on September 8, 1973. (Fun Fact: the original Star Trek also debuted on this same date, September 8, seven years earlier in 1966—a Thursday, for the record.) While I’m a couple months late here, I still wanted to celebrate the Super Friends…

hoping that arranged!verse reader also has a dramatic hair-chopping off mental breakdown. or hair dye. something similar. she deserves it
"Mrs. Wayne do you want your phone?" The hair stylist asked, "This is going to take a while and-"
"Oh no," you say politely. "That can stay precisely where it is. I hate to have my 'me time' interrupted."
The stylist ran her hands through your hair and tutted, "This is incredible. You've never dyed it?"
"Was never allowed- and I've always wanted highlights."
"Highlights? Oh honey. We're gonna get you looking like a brand-new woman. Bruce Wayne won't know what hit him."
"That's the plan," you tell her, giving her a patented teasing smile over your glass of champagne.
Your mother was going to be furious. And you couldn't wait to see the look on her face when you showed up to Falcone's 50th birthday party with new hair and the most-to-die-for Emerald green dress you'd found in San Francisco.
And it would be interesting to see if Bruce noticed. The Batman was supposed to be a good detective. But even knowing they were the same person, you couldn't see Bruce detecting his way out of a wet paper bag.

March 1987. Batman meets Sherlock Holmes in the 50th anniversary issue of DETECTIVE COMICS, written by Mike W. Barr.
The figures behind Ralph at the center of the first panel are Mary Watson, granddaughter of Dr. Watson, and her fiancée Thomas Moriarty, a blameless descendant of Holmes' old enemy. This ultimately isn't a terribly good story, although it has some nice art, but Alan Davis' marvelous depiction of the aged Holmes makes it all worthwhile.
