The BatParent Dynamic
Bruce Wayne x Batmum! Reader
Summary: A fluffy story in which Dick and Jason would climb into bed with you and Bruce.

Nothing was more meditative than listening to the muffled sounds of the crickets chirping, as the cold night air filtered though the high ceiling windows. The opposing warmth exuding from your husbands form as he pulls you in closer. Melting around your napping figure.
His airy breath tickling your ear, nuzzling further into your neck.
He’s taking his time, holding you close, breathing in your scent as he presses chaste kisses to your shoulder slowly waking you from your bliss dream into his blissful arms.
Not a single word is spoken, both just enjoying the romantic lul.
But of course, this is the Wayne Manor, where any number of things can happen that leads to loud and rambunctious events.
“Ma! I need a hug!” Dick shouts outside the door, a quick twist of the door nob and the door is slammed open, destroying any sense of peace within your shared bedroom. “Jason is being Jason again!” Dick jumping into a swan dive, aiming to land in the middle of the bed where you and Bruce are currently huddled.
Bruce quickly slides out of the way leaving Dick to land perfecting in the centre of the mattress, he rolls over wrapping his arms around you. Cheek pressing against your arm making his lips press into a pout just like they always did when he was a young boy clinging to you for comfort.
You look down at your eldest son with a warm smile. Eyes almost sparkling at his cute demeanour, even as an adult, Dick will still be your sweet child.
Bruce, however, is feeling other feelings.
“For some silly reason, I assumed that when you boys grew up. You’d finally stop seeking your mothers comfort. In MY bed.” He grumbles irritatedly which only makes Jason’s hulking figure shake with laughter as he takes a quick snapshot of Dick snuggling up to his parents like the man child he is.
“Seriously bro? You go cryin to ma because I wouldn’t share my sandwich with you?” Jason muffles with a mouth full of bread.
He strides towards your bed, stepping up onto the mattress ignoring Bruce’s refusal to move, he shoves himself into the small space left between Dick and the almighty Batman.
Bruce grumbles irritably as he accepts his fate.
Your heart couldn’t help swelling at the sight of your two grown boys, still behaving like the naughty trouble makers.
You still remember a younger Dick, crawling under your sheets so that he could finally sleep though the whole night without being awoken by his nightmares.
Often the young boy would have reoccurring and vivid nightmares about his parents, and would more often then not, come to your bed seeking comforts.
Slinking up the centre between your sleeping forms, Dick would snuggle up towards you as your sleepy arms encircle around Dicks anxious form.
Whilst Jason was already a grown pre-teen when he came into your home. However, when traveling around South-East Asia, Jason caught an aggressive parasite from stagnant water. He was so Ill and weak, you were too nervous and tired to leave him alone, so he slept between you and Bruce until he made a full recovery.
Now you look at your boys, they both lay between you and Bruce, arguing, elbowing and shoving eachother. You look at your husband sweetly, as if silently discussing how this scene warms your heart.
It’s moments like these, you remind yourself how lucky you are to have such a loving family.

★ — Baking with Jason!
Jason Todd x Batparent!Reader
CW: pure fluff!
English isn't my native language
The warm scent of vanilla and chocolate chips filled the kitchen as you set out the ingredients on the counter. Jason, clad in an oversized apron that read "Official Taste Tester," was perched on a stool, his determined little face half-hidden behind the recipe card in his hands.
"Alright, dear," you said with a playful grin, nudging the bag of flour toward him. "What's step one?"
Jason squinted at the card, his tiny nose scrunching in concentration. "Uh... 'Measure one cup of flour.' I got this!" He grabbed the measuring cup, scooped some flour, and then dumped it directly onto the counter.
"Whoa, whoa, hold up!" You laughed, brushing a streak of flour off his cheek. "Not on the counter, Jase—into the bowl."
Jason pouted for a moment, then giggled as you handed him a clean measuring cup. He carefully measured again, his small hands steady with effort. "See? I'm a pro," he declared, pouring the flour into the bowl.
"Absolutely," you said, ruffling his messy black hair. "You're my little baking genius."
The next step involved cracking eggs, which Jason insisted on doing himself. He tapped the shell on the edge of the bowl—too softly at first, then too hard. "Oops," he muttered as half the shell fell into the mixture.
You fished out the bits of eggshell while he sheepishly looked up at you. "Guess I need more practice," he admitted.
"That's okay," you assured him. "Even Batman had to start somewhere."
Jason beamed at the comparison, his eyes lighting up with pride. Together, you mixed the batter, his little hands barely keeping up with the whisk. When it came time to add the chocolate chips, Jason dumped in an extra handful—"for good luck," he said with a cheeky grin.
Soon, trays of cookies were baking in the oven. Jason sat cross-legged on the counter, licking batter off the spatula while you cleaned up the mess.
"Hey," he said softly after a moment, his voice almost shy. "Thanks for doing this with me."
Your heart melted as you looked at him, his cheeks still dusted with flour. "Anytime, sweetheart," you said, leaning down to kiss the top of his head. "Baking cookies with you is my favorite mission."
The timer dinged, and Jason hopped off the counter, practically vibrating with excitement. Together, you pulled out the golden-brown cookies, the warm aroma wrapping around you both like a hug.
Jason grabbed one (ignoring your warnings about it being too hot), and took a bite, his face lighting up. "Mmm! These are awesome!" he declared, crumbs flying everywhere.
You laughed, pulling him into a flour-dusted hug. "That's because we make a great team, partner."

Second Sight (Batdad!Reader Headcanons)
Requested by @eucatastrophichad for Batdad going blind after a Joker attack and gaining clairvoyant powers
The Joker strikes again.
Hasn’t he taken enough?
You were at a fundraiser for Gotham’s orphanages, and it is surprisingly hard to get people to donate.
The boys are with Bruce tracking down Black Mask. So, you’re there, alone.
But that just means that all the orphans get you to themselves. They’re so cute, you honestly might adopt them all and try and fill up Wayne Manor.
You can imagine it right now. Bruce coming home to thirty-odd kids, and you looking at him sternly.
“This is what happens when I’m left alone at a fundraiser, Bruce. I have literally no impulse control when it comes to helping people.”
But, because Gotham refuses to be a nice place, even for a few hours, the Joker attacks.
Seriously, Joker? Orphans?
You are able to get them all to safety, but in the struggle, the Joker come right up to you.
“Nice to see you again, Mr. Wayne!” Joker giggles. “How’s the handsome hubby?”
“Very well, thank you. How’s being alone working out for you?”
Joker laughs uproariously and claps you on the back before spraying you in the face with his clown flower.
Immediately you feel your face burning in pain, and you collapse.
You wake up in the hospital, annoyed at the sound of the beeping EKG machine next to you.
You want to find it and try and mute it.
But you can’t open your eyes.
And then you really start to freak out when you realize that they ARE open, you just can’t see out of them.
But Bruce is there, and his comforting words startle you.
It’s likely your eyes will never fully heal, if at all
And at first you are devastated,
No more seeing Dick’s constant smile. No more seeing Damian’s increasingly frequent ones.
No more carrying Tim to bed when he falls asleep in odd places.
No more seeing Jason make stupid faces behind Bruce’s back when he talks about a mission.
Bruce and the boys do their best to support you.
Damian immediately recommends the best of support dogs for you.
Dick wants to carry you piggyback everywhere, but settles for walking next to you.
If you’re comfortable with it, Jason tries to make jokes to alleviate the stress. Stuff like “guess nobody SAW that coming.” If not, he’ll try to act as much as before as possible.
Tim tries not to fall asleep in weird places because he’s afraid he might trip you unintentionally, so when he has to sleep, he finds where you are, says “mslepp,” and plonks himself down on the nearest mostly-flat surface.
But one day, something happens. You’re listening to music in the study, when all of a sudden you can see!
It’s not normal. Because you are seeing something that can’t possibly be happening in the study. You’re in a street alleyway, and Bruce is fighting Penguin, who’s got a shiv ready.
Penguin stabs Bruce good, but Bruce makes short work of Penguin despite being injured.
And suddenly everything goes dark and you start making your way into the Batcave.
“Master Y/N, please? What’s going on?” Alfred asks.
“No time. Penguin hurt Bruce! Get the medical table ready.” you nearly yell.
Alfred looks at the Batcomputer screen. Bruce has just begun to fight Penguin.
“How did you- never mind. Later.” Alfred knows enough not to question it just yet. As soon as you two have the medical bay ready (you memorized long ago where everything was), Bruce groans over comms as Penguin stabs him through a chink in his armor.
Thanks to your forewarning, a great deal of blood loss was prevented.
Zatanna and Constantine are invited over to confirm that yes, indeed, the trauma of your blinding awakened dormant oracular abilities in you.
Or in more simple terms, you can now see the near future of your loved ones.
It’s nice to have an early warning system. Sometimes you are able to prevent horrible events from coming to pass by using your ability.
Other times, all you can do is get the medical table set up.
But, you’ve also gained greater control over your powers with Zatanna’s help.
Now you can see the future even when it doesn’t involve danger.
You don’t use this to divine events. Instead, you use it to just look at the faces of your family.
You don’t even listen to the joke Jason will soon make, but instead watch Damian struggle not to laugh and finally give in.
You watch Tim roll his eyes when Dick asks him something with a big smile.
And you watch Jason and Bruce awkwardly hug, giving secret smiles out of each other’s view.
Barbara offers to give her codename to you, as Oracle is now more fitting for you, but you tell her to keep it.
You’re still protecting your husband and sons - you don’t need a new title because you’ve got powers.
No matter what happens, you’ll always be Batdad.

Wayne Family Christmas (Batfamily x Batparent!Reader)
Warnings: Fluff
Request?: Combining with a request from @theprincessbt
A/N: Merry Christmas to those of you who celebrate!
Before:
Christmas was a very lonely affair for Bruce when it was just him and Alfred.
Bruce would buy Alfred a gift but would always tell him not to get him anything in return.
But, of course, Alfred never listens to a word Bruce says and would get him gifts anyway.
Bruce would work on Christmas without fail, both at Wayne Enterprises and as Batman, telling his employees to go home to their families while he tied up any loose ends in the office before he’d leave to go fight crime in the snow.
You and Bruce as a couple:
Once you moved into the mansion, Christmas become much more lively, which Alfred is very happy about.
Seeing Bruce happy makes him happy so that’s the only present he needs.
But Alfred’s a sweetheart who deserves presents so he gets real gifts from both you and Bruce.
Bruce gets you the most expensive things money can buy: jewellery with real diamonds, expensive champagne, designer clothes, maybe even a fancy car if you can drive.
You told him that he doesn’t need to get you such fancy things, but even when he dials it back his gifts are still expensive. Think cashmere sweaters and silk pyjamas, that kind of thing.
Your gifts for him are little more chill because what do you buy for the man who can buy an entire city if he wanted to?
Bruce will tell you that he doesn’t want anything because he already has everything he wants, which is you.
The Robins haven’t showed up yet so you get to spend all morning in bed together instead of being dragged downstairs in the cold.
The Wayne Family all together:
Now that your whole vigilante family is complete, Christmas Day is no longer quiet.
In fact, the whole holiday season isn’t quiet anymore.
You don’t get to stay in bed until 10 with Bruce anymore, you’ve got a bunch of kids who want to drag you up at 6 to open presents, even when the oldest are in their 20s.
Buying presents is a whole ordeal because if you and Bruce go out together you’ll get swarmed, but some of the things on the kids’ Christmas lists can’t be bought online.
There’s also the issue of one certain pint-sized Robin asking for things that are just dangerous and can’t be bought at all.
“No, Damian, you can’t have a set of swords for Christmas, they’re too dangerous” is something that has been said for years but he never pays any attention. He may have been trained to be a warrior, but he’s still a kid.
Tim always forgets to make a list but the poor boy’s so tired all the time that he gets coffee and coffee related things every year. He’s happy to get them every time, though.
Jason is a nightmare to buy presents for. He grew up with nothing before Bruce took him in so he didn’t get much for Christmas and can never think of anything. You and Bruce usually think of something motorcycle related for him, whether he needs it or not.
He would definitely say that his presence is his gift to you as a cover up for not knowing what to get you.
Dick is now at the age where he could buy his own presents but Bruce being, well, Bruce would take a joke answer at face value and get him the ultra-expensive version.
He asked for socks? Well then he better be prepared for some ultra-soft cashmere Ralph Lauren socks.
Bruce asks for nothing at all. He already has everything he wants and needs: a loving partner, a caring family, great friends, and a roof over his head.
He gives gifts to his family, but the biggest gift goes back to the people of Gotham. Every year he donates huge chunks of money to children’s hospitals, charities, free clinics, and continues to fight crime from the ground up.
You and the boys all still give him gifts of varying qualities. The boys naturally have no idea what to get Bruce because they often draw blanks on what he likes, so he often gets a lot of novelty gifts from them.
You, however, know him like the back of your hand so every gift you get him is perfect and practical. He’s received a few cosy clothes for those cold nights in the Batcave along with some more “Bruce Wayne appropriate” gifts.
And we can’t let Alfred go forgotten. He is pretty much the grandfather of the house, after all.
Alfred truly appreciates every single gift he’s given by the family, and makes sure to get everyone the perfect gift in return because he knows everyone better than they know themselves.

The bedroom down the hall
Warning: Super angsty, like next level angst, it made @sirkekselord cry Word count: ~1.6k Summary: After Jason’s death you know it’s time to pack up the things in his room, but will you be able to cope with all the memories and the fact that your son is really dead? (Inspired by “In the bedroom down the hall” from ‘dear Evan Hansen’)
Requested by the lovely @hubblill: Hey!Love you fics! I wonderd if I could request a super angsty batfam (batmom) story, inspirerad by the song "In the beadroom down the hall" (dear evan hansen) where batmom is packning up Jasons things after he dies and remember all the good and bad times they had. Ending with some fluff please.
The manor was cold with the absence of the little boy you'd grown to love in the last five years. You had grown to see as your son, your youngest after Dick. You weren't able to really blame Bruce, he was your husband after all, but at the same time, you weren't able to look into his eyes, let alone sleep in the same bed with him. It just hurt too much. It had been two months now and you still expected Jay to come through the door and fall into your arms after school. But he never did. He would never again. "Mistress Wayne," Alfred's voice made you look up from the book you had thoughtlessly picked up, not realizing what it was, only to recognize the cover of the book you had always read to Jason when he couldn't sleep when he was younger when you tried to put it back on the shelf, "I think it's time, I've already placed the boxes in front of the door." He didn't need to say explicitly what he meant, you already knew, you already dreaded it. Jason's room had been closed, left the way it was, ever since the night you found out he died. Back then you had spent the whole night kneeling at his bed, crying for all the days he'd never have, all the experiences he would never make. Bruce tried to get you out, but you couldn't even bear to be in the same room as him and, even though he was hurting too, he loved you too much to intervene, instead deciding to give you space and time to grieve. The next morning you locked the door and put the key around your neck, you couldn't stand the thought of changing it, even though you knew, deep inside, that it wouldn't be used again. You had played with the thought of letting it just stay closed, gather dust until you were ready to face the fact that you had lost your son, but Alfred made you try to understand that you'd never get to that point if you'd literally lock your feelings away. So you just nodded, eyes void of emotions after days and nights that you spent crying, and turned around to go to the place that became the center of everything you had hoped would never happen. You stood in front of his bedroom quicker than you had expected. It was the very last room in the hallway that had been dedicated to your children, Dick's room that was also long left empty only a few doors away. A pained smile made its way onto your face when your eyes landed on the lettering that Jason had carved into it when he finally felt home 'Jason's room! Keep out!' and a bit smaller under it stood 'Except mom!' that he had added when your mother-son bond got as strong as it had been for the rest of the five years you had together. Only five years... You swallowed the lump in your throat and closed your eyes for a second, trying to keep the tears from streaming just a little bit longer, before picking up one of the boxes and opening the door, before you could change your mind.
You tried to ignore your surrounding as best as you could, knowing that if you'd focus too much on anything you'd break down again, and made your way over to the closet that stood beside his bed and slowly opened it. The beginning was easy. It was shirts that he wore every day that laid perfectly folded in their place, they made you smile a bit, thinking about how they all seemed to be the same shirt in different colours and with sometimes a pattern on it. But then your hands landed on a deep grey crocheted sweater. You remembered like yesterday how you started to try your hand at crocheting when the stress of Dick leaving and the new cute kid going out fighting with your husband got a bit too much. The sweater was the first thing you made that you dared to show anyone and when it turned out to somewhat be the size of Jason you couldn't help but give it to him. He always complained about it, saying that the fabric was just a horrible choice and that the arms got tighter at the end. You just shrugged and laughed that maybe crocheting wasn't your strong suit after all and that he could feel free to throw it away whenever he wanted. You were sure that he'd thrown it into the trash the same day, but here it was. In your hands. He had kept it. The first tears started welling up in your eyes and you couldn't help but pressing it to your body as if Jason was still in it... but it was just a thought, the ghost of a hope that you started to lose. You finally looked around the room. Your eyes were drawn to the superman nightlight that was plugged into the wall beside the door, you had bought it for him as a joke, but somehow he never wanted to take it off again. You only found out that he wasn't too fond of being alone in the dark when the lightbulb inside it broke and he made his way to your and Bruce's bedroom, asking you if you could fix it. You had promised he would never see it break again, but you had never known that it would be because of such a gruesome circumstance. Then your gaze landed on his bedside table and you were like in a trance when you sat down on the bad and opened its drawer, your breath hitching when you saw the broken picture frame laying inside it. It was a picture of you, him and Bruce on his birthday. You looked so happy, but it seemed like a distant memory now, something from a place that was destroyed by a blizzard of change. You traced the cracks in the frame and of the fragments of glass and you couldn't stop your brain from wandering to the evening when it was broken like that. You couldn't quite remember why, but you had forbidden him from joining patrol that night and he was enraged by that. He screamed at you, shouted that he heated you and that you weren't his real mother, but instead of sitting him down and explaining that you were just worried for him and that you knew he didn't mean it, you screamed back... You'll regret saying that... One day I might not be here to care about you anymore, what's then?... Stop acting so childish... Then he threw the picture at the wall and you left the room, telling him that if he thought he knew everything so much better than you that he should make is own decisions... You weren't sure when you started crying and sobbing, you hadn't even noticed your finger getting pierced by the shards of glass and blood dripping onto the picture beside your tears. The hairs on your neck began raising and your hearts started beating when you thought that it was Jason who stood in the doorway, but when you looked up it was Bruce who looked at you worried, with tears of his own welling up in his eyes. You started to break down and, you didn't know how, but soon you were clutching onto Bruce, crying into his chest. "I-I can't do this," you sobbed, "I'm sorry, I just can-can't." Your voice was broken and cracked and you felt like there was just a heavy brick of ice where your heart had been. "It's okay," Bruce whispered into your hair, but you could hear that he was crying too, "We don't have to.."
Your head was arching at the screaming match that was happening in your living room between Bruce and Tim, a useless fight that both would have forgotten by tomorrow, and you decided that it wasn't worth your evening. You were walking towards your room when something caught your eye in the corridor that you hadn't entered for years. You couldn't believe your eyes. Jason's door was wide open, even though the key was still hanging around your neck, never having left its place. Whatever took over you at that moment was something that you couldn't explain, but instead of calling for your husband to investigate, your blood rushed through your ears as you warily walked over to the room. When you stood in the door your gaze landed on the figure that was standing in front of the commode that was decorated with pictures of your late son and the rest of your family (mainly you, Alfred and Bruce). The person, seemingly a man, was towering at around the same height as Bruce. "Who are you?" you breathed out in a whisper, something about the man was off. He turned to you in surprise, but even though he was taller, more muscular, older and now had a white streak in his black hair, you'd recognize these blue eyes everywhere. "Jason?" you whispered with tears in your eyes as you walked closer to him, while he just stood there like a statue. "Is it really you?" You raised your hand to his cheek and stroked over it. You weren't quite sure if the look in his eyes was one of anger or one of sadness, but you didn't know if you cared. As soon as your heart was sure that it was really your little Jason, you embraced him as tight as you could, feeling like he could disappear any second again. Sobs were shaking your body, but soon you felt his arms around you, hugging you just as tight. "It's me mommy, I'm back. It's really me..."

Yandere!Batman who is very VERY, extremely, lonely, touch starved and grim. He’s also very unlucky apparently.
He never even met Dick. Sure, he heard about what happened to The Flying Graysons, investigated it even, but he's only seem him on pictures, videos or in passing, but he wasn’t there that night, he never talked to him, or maybe he did while stopping him from killing Zuko, either way, never adopted him, our boy went straight to orphanage and was adopted shortly after by a normal and loving family.
Actually this universe’s Bruce never met nor connected with ANY of his children, all he had was Alfred, and yet… Something happened and…
Safe to say it's been long, never ending harsh years.
The only thing this Bruce knows is pain, loneliness and misery. Don’t talk to him about Alfred. Maybe he can't even look at pictures. When he realized he couldn’t remember his voice anymore… He WON’T watch videos or listen to audio of him. Yes, Alfred being gone was one more trauma to the list of traumas he will carry on his tense and burdened shoulders for the rest of his helpless existence.
This Bruce is a loser, closer to madness than any version of Bruce (aside from Batman who laughs). His Gotham is nearing it’s doom. He didn't join the Justice League because of his level of emotional masochism, pride and lack of will to get back on his feet. He is so used to suffering he thinks it's possible to die if he doesn't have such bitter companion. Safe to say, he is depressed. And hyperfocused on saving a city he’s been working in for decades, too blind by his grieving to see that he is not doing the right things. There is no social projects on Wayne Enterprises or Wayne Foundation to help people, he neglected the company decades ago. He is almost becoming Michael Keaton’s Batman in The Flash.
Somehow, one day he is sent to another universe. It can be through some disaster like Crisis in Infinite Earths, or some villain who wanted different variants of heros to fight amongst themselves to death, doesn't really matter here, what’s important is that he (after years of being a hermit on his cave) interacts with people, more specifically, he interacts with himself.
Or definitely a lucky version of himself. Maybe the luckiest. He is jealous.
During the whole event they interact and imagine how he felt when he found out that this other Batman has an Alfred. And he is so successful that he is a billionaire who uses his money to help Gotham get better (or as good as we know Gotham can get). Oh, and he has a spouse. And children. Plural. So many he lost count. And pets. Two dogs, one cat, a cow (?), a turkey (a what now?) and a fREAKING DRAGON BAT (WHAT THA FUCK IS EVEN THAT????!?!?????!).
He is also more put together (looks like he showers and doesn't skip meals). And less temperamental.
Okay…
Bruce is confused. When he comes back to his universe, with a spark of hope in his heart, he does his research. He could start actually making effort on his company and thus helping Gotham, maybe even be good enough as a vigilant that he could join the Justice League and make some friends (even if the other Bruce was just as stoic, he was the only one who could see on his micro expressions while talking about them how fond he was of his colleagues, and how much he thrusts them, even with his trust issues).
He could find those damn kids and adopt them. Find the one who somehow managed to make him open up enough for a relationship.
(He could also just work on his company, philanthropism, do some therapy, make some new organic connections or whatever).
He is VERY disappointed to find out that some of those so called kids and are already adults, have lived their whole lives without him, maybe some have been arrested or even dead, they have their whole lives and families that have NOTHING to do with him. Some don't even exist (the only explanation for not a single clue in months of research). And his partner, Reader, is either living their own life that doesn't allow space for him or also dead. He lost his timing. He is old and lost his timing. He is alone. He shouldn't have hoped so much that he got blind by the improbability of the small chance. The other Batman did mention that his family started growing decades ago.
He just lost another family. This one he never got to have. He wishes he never knew about them.
He hyperfocused on them for months for nothing (hey, It was hard to find info on the ones that don't live a very civilian legal life, like Cassandra, or the ones that never even existed, like Damian, or the ones that are dead — again maybe Cassandra, or perhaps Jason. Maybe Jason joined a gang just for survival or something like that, life on the streets is harsh, and he is not very lucky. And I’m not even being specific on what could have happened to every single one of the batfam. Also Tim is probably a CEO right now). No connection and family will come from all of that. Especially because he is greedy, starved, he doesn't want bits and pieces, he wants it ALL. He wants that other Bruce's life.
Yandere!Batman is born. He drowns and gets drunk on the pit of his own madness and he can’t get out of it. Doesn't want to.
He could… He could get rid of the people on their lives, brainwash them and make them a happy family. They aren’t vigilantes, they don't have his abilities, they don't have his intellect, it won't be hard.
Of course, Batman doesn't kill, but this Batman is looking for a change.
But they aren't what lucky-billionaire-put-together Bruce had.
Don't get me wrong. He is not just petty and jealous, nor resents Bruce for his privileges and better decisions, or whatever.
Okay, maybe a little. Why? Just why ones life was perfect (hello? Didn't you hear the part where he told you his own problems? Not even about the DEAD RESURRECTED CRIME LORD SON?) while the others had to draw the short stick?
But majorly he is just desperate, foaming at the mouth for a happy ending, and projected all of that on that poor random bat.
Now, enough brooding, back to solutions.
He could clone them.
Could work. Not exactly easy but he could just hack onto Luthor archives until he found how he cloned Superman and made that Superboy, Superman, or whatever he goes by now.
Again, not the same as the original ones. The ones he craves. The ones he wants.
Alfred is screaming in his grave about how Bruce, please, needs to realize that no one will fill the expectations he puts on them, not even the “original ones”.
Another hard, but better fitted solution is to… Simply… Find a way to go to that other universe, or one similar enough, stalk and study their whole lives until he can perfectly replicate “lucky” Bruce’s persona, and just… Get rid of him and take his place. Hello Alfred, hello honey, hello kids, daddy’s home.
Looks like he finally got luck on his side, maybe the sun will rise tomorrow.
Yandere!Bruce won't just brush aside that he is rusty and definitely not a better Batman then the other one, but he's got time. He will developt patience. But can he learn enough to trick his perfect vigilant kids though? Is he seriously thinking straight? I mean, the batkids are dope though. They learned from the best. As a proud (wannabe) father he knows they will be better than him one day, perhaps already are.
How much of watching their lives, everything that he craves, can he take until he snaps? How much of watching Bruce's interactions with them can he take? He swears he won't take them for granted when he has them, he will take care of them, protect them, be a family, be happy.
Can he really keep his distance?
Looks like another supervillain just arrived in Gotham for the batfamily to battle against, he is quite persistent though.
Like, comment and reblog 🥰

Absolutely Not on My Watch (Batdad!Reader x Batfamily)
Requested by @yesthetrashbin for Batdad!Reader running into an abusive ex at a Gala who tries to take the reader back, but the day is saved by the Batfam
It happens at the GCPD Ball, the biggest annual event in Gotham
At first it was big because all the crime families wanted to give massive bribes to the police, or launder money.
Now that Gordon’s sorted out the PD, it’s more of a party to appreciate the men and women who do their best to uphold the law in a city rife with supervillains
And it’s one of the rare times you get the whole family at the event. It takes place in the middle of the day, because it’s unwise to get a bunch of cops together in the middle of the night at peak super-crime hours.
But you are not happy.
You’ve just seen someone from your past.
His name is Simon, and he was your rebound relationship after Bruce left to travel the world, stressing that you should not wait for him.
It was a mistake. The man was jealous and possessive, in a very bad way.
You didn’t have the self-defense training you do now, so he was able to quite effectively beat you
And when he wasn’t drinking or being a general waste of space, he taunted you for being a stupid little gold-digger trying to land Bruce Wayne
After you broke up with Simon, he married this rich elderly widow, and inherited all her money when she died, cheating her kids out of their heirlooms.
So, all in all, it was not a pleasant thing to see him again.
“What’s wrong, Pops?” Dick asks.
You’ve promised to be honest with your kids. “Just an ex. Nothing to worry about.”
Dick knows all about your past. You’ve told him when cautioning him against rushing into relationships. “Not...Simon?”
You nod.
He looks angrier than you’ve ever seen him. “Just stick by me. I’m not letting that bastard hurt you.”
“Dick, it’s fine. Even Simon’s not enough of an idiot to try anything in a ballroom full of police officers.”
And of course the jerk has to prove you wrong.
He saunters over to you. Dick stands near you, discreetly indicating to Tim that he should find Bruce.
Simon offers you one of two champagne flutes in his hand. “Y/N. You’re looking handsome this... afternoon.”
You aren’t stupid enough to accept the drink and leave him hanging. “Thank you, Simon. You’re looking...sober.”
Simon’s eyes flash. “I see you finally managed to land Wayne for yourself, Y/N. Congrats.”
“Is there a problem here?” Dick buts in, fists clenching and unclenching.
“No, kid. Go play with your little bastard step-brother.” Simon jeers.
That goes too far. Dick draws his fist back
But he’s too late. Simon is already tumbling to the floor, and you are massaging your knuckles.
“I advise you to watch your mouth about my son.” You say darkly. Simon holds no fear for you anymore.
Barbara wheels over, dragging her father with her. He starts nodding to some of the uniformed police officers. Tim, Bruce, and Damian are not far behind.
“Is this man bothering you, Mr. Wayne?” Jim asks you.
You look down at Simon. “Yes. He is, in fact.”
“You gold-digging whore!” Simon rages. “Everyone knows you’re only with Wayne because you can’t handle a real man.”
“Are you hoping to be buried in that hole you’re digging for yourself? Because that can be arranged.” Damian says darkly.
Jim has Simon escorted out.
The party proceeds smoothly after that. You actually have a good time - until you are leaving the party, and Simon reappears.
He’s holding a gun to your head, his arm around your neck. You won’t be able to disable him before he pulls the trigger, so you freeze.
“You’re coming with me, Y/N. Back where you belong.”
Simon rants for a little bit longer, every police person in the gala training their service weapon on him, until suddenly Simon’s grip on you loosens. He flies through the air, caught by a grapple line from what can only be your family.
By the time they are finished with him, Simon does not have a single unbroken tooth, and he is strung up in his underpants over the First Bank of Gotham.
And a few minutes later, Bruce and your sons appear by your side, only slightly the worse for wear.
“I apologize, Papa. He never should have gotten that close to you. I will do better in the future.” Damian says angrily.
“It’s my fault,” Tim sighs. “I should have gotten Bruce quicker, and then maybe we could have prevented this.”
“Hey,” you tell them. “It’s Simon’s fault for being such a horrible person. Okay? None of you are to blame.”
“Neither are you, you know.” Bruce says, joining the group hug you give to reassure the boys. “And you don’t have anything to worry about from him in the future. Barbara’s taking care of it.”
“I could get used to being taken care of.” You joke.
Bruce kisses you. “It’s the least I could do for you; you take care of all of us.”
And that makes this little incident worth it.
Simon is quickly jailed the next morning and sentenced on several charges Barbara found on his record.
You never have to worry about him again.

Never Give Up (Batdad Headcanons)
Requested by @yesthetrashbin for “ Hi, so I recently haven't been my best and my depression is all over the place and I literally have no source of comfort. May I request a batdad that suffers from chronic depression and how the whole batfam helps please? Maybe add a romantic moment with Bruce? Thanks ”
Hey, buddy, I hope you feel better, and that I can bring you some comfort with this.
Note: Trigger warning for chronic depression. Also, this may not be typical or accurate to those who have experienced depression. I do not mean to cause offense by misrepresenting your pain.
It is hard when it hits.
Sometimes it comes with bouts of paralyzing lethargy, where you feel like there’s nothing worth doing, or at least nothing worth you attempting.
Sometimes there are dark thoughts, horrible things you think about yourself, and the nagging feeling that they’re all true.
It can come upon you without warning and last for days on end. And it hurts that it keeps coming back.
But Bruce and the boys, and Alfred, they’re all there to help and support you when it gets rough.
Alfred has a hands-off approach. He won’t push you to tell him what’s wrong. He won’t probe into whatever dark thoughts you might feel. He’ll simply be there. Whenever you need him he’ll know, and he’ll be right there to be someone to talk to, or simply a presence that reminds you you aren’t alone.
He’s there with food, once you feel like eating again. With calming teas, so that you can get to sleep more easily. Anything that seems like it helps you, he’ll catalog in his brain so that he can remember to fetch it for you when the depression returns.
He’ll even relax his policy towards pets being on the furniture if you find that cuddling with the dog or petting Pennyworth the cat helps you. Ace is, in fact, a licensed therapy animal and does his best to help you.
Dick is always ready with a compliment or nice thing to say, even when your self-esteem isn’t under siege. But if he notices what you’re going through, he’ll make sure to let you know how much you help him, how much you matter to him. No matter what he says, it never comes off as insincere or memorized. There’s just such unfiltered love for you in whatever he says.
He’ll be very active in trying to lift your mood, almost to the point of getting carried away. He’ll want to throw you a big celebration to get you to cheer up, but he’ll restrain himself to doing what’s best for you.
Jason himself often goes through bouts of depression. He knows what it feels like and pushes himself to support you if you want to talk. He’ll make sure to be present at the Manor more often when you go through another bout, and sometimes he’ll even skip patrol to stay with you if things get too much.
If you take medication or go to therapy, Tim is on top of reminders and refilling your prescription. it’s no exaggeration to say he tries to take much better care of you than he does of himself. Sometimes this makes you feel like a burden, but it gets better as he recognizes this and tries not to be so intrusive. He also attempts to help you out more around the house or at work so that the stress on you is limited.
Damian doesn’t quite understand what’s going on, but he has a sincere desire to help. He visualizes your depression as some kind of monster he can fight. If he could, he’d take his sword and spend every moment hacking away at it, but he knows enough that he can’t.
So instead Damian shadows Alfred, memorizing and learning what helps you, what makes you feel worse. He’ll be more irritable with his brothers for doing anything that might potentially trigger you, but slowly he learns how best to support you.
All the boys try to help in their own ways. But what feels like the most helpful thing is that they do their best to understand what you’re going through. None of their efforts feels empty or forced. They want to help you, but they will support you even if you just need to be alone for a while.
Bruce has been with you through it all. Through a combination of instinct and experience, he can take care of you even through the worst bouts of depression.
If having his affection helps, Bruce will hold you close. He’ll whisper to you all the things he loves about you. Everything about you that makes him smile.
After his parents’ deaths, he went through a long time of feeling absolutely horrible about himself, blaming himself for it, wondering if he was worth anything, but you were the light to bring him through, so he swears to himself that he’ll be your light whenever you need him.
Like Jason, he’ll drop patrol to hold you close and talk with you if you need him.
“I know it’s rough, Y/N. I know it seems dark. But I will be here with you through it all. No matter what you need, no matter how many times you need it, I will be with you. I love you, Y/N, and you’re so important to me. You’re so strong. So wonderful. Such a good person. You mean so much to me, you’ve done so much for me... You are my world, and I will stay with you here forever, if you wish. I love you.”

Dank? (Batdad!Reader Headcanons)
Requested by @yesthetrashbin for how batdad embarrasses Bruce and the Batboys with puns, jokes, and meme references
I do apologize - I am so not caught up on memes.
You know how when the newscasters start using memes, it’s basically a death knell?
Like, “Citizens are saying, ‘Bye, Felicia’ to summer with a Labor Day bash...”
That’s you.
Being a celebrity, it means that you are more often a meme than a user of memes.
For example, you and Bruce went on the G. Gordon Godfrey Show once (big mistake), and when the host went in for a hug you basically stabbed him in the gut with you hand meant for a handshake
It went viral with the caption “tfw your drunk uncle tries to hug you”
Frequently people post GIFs of your face as reactions.
Jason pretty much loves this, and his official social media (before he dies, when he comes back he has to start a fake one) is a main producer of Y/N Wayne Reaction GIFs
But even more embarrassing, somehow, than being a meme is when you try to use one.
You and Damian are the most behind at memes. It’s hard keeping track when you spend all day and night working. Also, patrol tends to be more interesting for you than memes.
Tim is the most hip. He’s always scanning the Internet, so he knows what’s up.
Speaking of, you taught Damian to say “whasssssuuuuup” and Tim didn’t speak to you for a month.
Dick and Jason groan a lot during patrol.
Because you often react to villainous monologues with archaic meme references.
“Scarecrow’s gonna gas the city? Ermagerhd!”
“ugh”
Mainly you do it to annoy them. You are responsible for the revival of the “trollface” meme. You monster.
But the best (or worst) part is your constant punning.
It can be glorious at times
It can be hellishly awful at others.
Mixed reactions. Dick is a giggler. Damian snorts, trying to stop himself (he’s a sucker for wordplay). Tim groans without fail. Jason will either silent eye-roll or burst out in high-pitched hoots. There is no in between,
You do a Steve Irwin impression whenever Killer Croc comes into view.
When chasing Poison Ivy:
“Hey, Red Robin. Why did Poison Ivy change her clothes?”
“Ugh. Why?”
“Because she SOILED them!”
“Ugh....”
“Hey, Nightwing. Why is Two-Face the best villain?”
“Why?” Dick asks warily.
“Because he’s not HALF-bad!”
Both of you giggle like freaks.
“Hey, hey, Robin. Where does Batman go pee?”
“Is this really appropriate?”
“C’mon!”
“TT, very well. Where does Batman urinate?”
“In the bat-room.”
Damian knows it’s awful. But he can’t help it. He starts snorting and then laughs.
“Red Hood. Why is Batman really a kleptomaniac?”
“What?”
“You heard.”
Silence. Then: “Fi-i-ine. I’ll bite.”
“Because he can’t go anywhere without Robin!”
Silence. Crickets.
“You’re so embarrassing.”
“I know.”
Bruce is very good at keeping the smilies down. But sometimes, something weird just gets him.
Bruce is talking with you about patrol. “The Joker hasn’t been active for a while.”
You wiggle your eyebrows. “You know what that means.”
He gives you the side-eye. “What?”
“He’s probably riding his Harley.”
Bruce snorts so hard he chokes, and then guffaws. A good ten minutes later he glares hard at you.
“The boys can’t know.”
You shrug.
“Who would believe me?”
They call it embarrassing, but they love your stupid jokes.

Saturday Night at the Movies (Batdad!Reader x Batman)
Requested by @eucatastrophichad for how Bruce and Batdad met and eventually got married
You and Bruce have been part of each other’s lives for a very long time.
Since you were but wee children at your parents’ knees.
You meet Bruce during the Gotham City Fair funded by the Wayne Foundation
He’s lost his parents, and so have you.
But only in the terrifying “let go of the hand at the wrong moment” kind of lost.
“Hi! I’m Y/N. I’m lost!”
“...uh, my mom told me not to talk to strangers.”
“I’m not a stranger. I’m Y/N!”
You make it your mission to make Bruce smile. And you are good at it. You become fast friends.
Your parents find you first.
“Hi Mommy, hi Daddy, this is Bruce. Can we adopt him? He’s my best friend ever!”
Thankfully, Martha and Thomas arrive, sparing your parents the trouble of answering.
Thomas sees something special here. He sets up a playdate between the two of you for a couple days later, then suggests the two families explore the fair together.
It’s still one of the best days ever.
You two meet again and again, mostly because the Waynes like to go to places that don’t require prestige to access, like the local theater, or to the aquarium on Gotham Harbor
And you two meet at the Theater on Park Row where there’s a revival of The Mask of Zorro.
Bruce asks if it’s okay if the two of you get ice cream after the movie. Thomas can’t say no, because the two of you are giving the puppy-dog eyes.
But it is not to be. You’re supposed to meet the Waynes at the sidewalk, but there’s a sound that every Gothamite knows or will soon know - a gunshot.
Then another.
And then, after a shadow races out of a nearby alley, you hear Bruce crying.
And you drag your parents. It’s a horrible sight, full of blood, and you do what comes naturally - you hold Bruce tight, his head against your chest and away from the scene.
Alfred arrives soon after, and takes Bruce away.
You can’t stop thinking about poor Bruce.
Your parents are afraid you’re traumatized and try to keep you away, but for the first time in your life you sneak out and visit.
Alfred lets you in, and you find Bruce in his room, staring at the wall. You take his hand, but don’t say anything.
Just to let him know you are there for him. When he’s ready.
Alfred clears it up with your parents, and you stay at the Manor for a while.
It takes a few weeks, but you draw Bruce out of his grief. You listen to him rant about the system, the police, the criminals, and you hold him when he cries for the loss, and you reassure him when he feels weak and pitiful.
“I keep thinking you’re gonna leave me too.” Bruce confesses one day.
You shake your head. “I’m not leaving. Ever.”
“Promise?”
You nod, and Bruce gives you a fancy silver ring. It’s probably worth more than everything your parents own, but he calls it a friendship ring and makes you promise to wear it. He puts on a matching one.
You’re wearing it every day. It makes Bruce smile so much.
When you two have your first kiss, he holds your hand in both of his and the rings clink together and he nearly sings with joy.
And this ring is what makes you decide to stay in Gotham, even when your parents decide the city is too much for them.
Even when Bruce tells you he has to leave to travel the world, you wear the ring, and you stay with Alfred in Wayne Manor
And when he returns, this ring is the first thing he notices about you - that after all this time your promise still stands.
Even so, it takes a while for him to propose.
You’re still just “lovers” or “boyfriends” (or to one newspaper - “best bros”)
Dick comes into your lives, and that is what triggers Bruce into action.
Because you are perfect. You’ve fit in not one, but two broken boys into your life and made them whole, providing comfort and love where there was pain and grief before.
And he can’t let you go.
So right before you two sign the adoption papers for Dick, he turns to you.
“It would be much easier if we were married.”
You scoff. “Yup. But, I’d need to be proposed to.”
You turn to him, and he is already on one knee, holding a box. He opens it and it contains your wedding ring - the same as your friendship ring, but cast in gold.
And you nod and say “yes” and kiss him because you’ve loved him for so long.
Bruce could kick himself for not doing this sooner.

Making Bad Look Good (Batdad!Reader Headcanons)
Requested by @libraryoffandomsuniverse for some times Batdad has crossed paths (knowingly or otherwise) with some of Gotham’s villains.
And everyone, if I missed your favorite villain, feel free to request a sequel to this with the villain you’d like to see!
Yes, I still headcanon Cillian Murphy as Dr. Jonathan Crane a.k.a. Scarecrow.
There’s a thought in Gotham that every citizen has encountered at least one supervillain in their lifetime.
It’s like that Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon thing, but with evil.
And you have been in Gotham for many a year doing this vigilante-assistant-thing, so, yes, you’ve encountered your fair share.
And despite the Batfam’s endeavors to keep you safe, you’ve come up against some villains by yourself in your time.
For example, in college, you took a Psychology course taught by none other than the eminent Dr. Jonathan Crane.
He’s actually a fairly good teacher.
Except for the fact that he was developing his fear gas on students that needed extra credit - although you didn’t know it at the time.
You wrote a particularly good set of essays, and he went so far as to call you his favorite student.
He even asked you to be a teacher’s aide once, and you took the job - you know, helping grade papers, assisting in his research. But once he asked you to gas a fellow student for an experiment, you refused. You quit the position, and you did not take any further courses of his.
It wasn’t until after you and Bruce married that you met Dr. Crane again. You immediately recognized the Fear Toxin and with several other former students, came forward to discredit Dr. Crane and reveal his twisted experiments and his time as the Scarecrow.
And there were others, too.
This one time, you were in a restaurant by yourself - having just been in a lunch meeting with some Wayne Enterprises execs and staying behind to actually eat.
And this very handsome man slides into the seat across from you. “This taken?”
You look at him strangely. “Are you all right, sir?”
He gives you a saucy wink. “I am, now that I’ve seen you.”
You raise your left hand and give him the finger - the ring finger, with your wedding ring on it. “Thanks, but no thanks.”
“Shoulda known I guy like you was taken. Who’s the lucky guy?”
“Bruce Wayne.” you tell him.
He gives a mock-jolt of surprise. “Yowza! Talk about competition. Name’s Basil. Basil Karlo. Trying to make it here in Gotham. You know, they call it the second Hollywood.”
He chuckles, and for a moment you swear his face ripples. He looks a lot more like Bruce than you previously noticed. Also, wasn’t he blond before? Now he’s dark-haired. This was weird...
“Mr. Karlo -”
“Basil, please. Mr. Karlo’s my dad’s name.”
“Nobody calls Gotham the second Hollywood. Still, I wish you luck. Goodbye.”
A few weeks later, you recognize the face your husband is locking up. “Oh my gosh! That’s the creep!”
Bruce chuckles. “You’ll have to be more specific.”
“The actor dude who hit on me.”
Who knew that Clayface was attracted to you?
Tim’s been getting better at online chess, as well as your online word games. You needed to up the ante
You’ve started playing online opponents at multiple different games on this one site.
Your biggest rival is this big-shot who goes by the username Mr.E
Mystery? You scoff at the bad pun. Although justtryintowin isn’t very good either.
You and Mr.E message back and forth, trash-talking during chess tournaments
And Mr.E is impressed by your skills, apparently, because he messages you, asking if you like riddles.
Oh no.
You hold out hope that this is just some other riddle-obsessed person, preferably halfway across the world
And then he messages that he lives in Gotham, and you sigh heavily.
This is the Riddler, isn’t it? you type.
Yes. Lol.
You’ll just have to get used to Tim beating you.
Unlike the others, you knew exactly who Hugo Strange was when you met him at Arkham Asylum. After all, you keep tabs.
You knew he had kidnapped your husband as Bruce Wayne and was planning on lobotomizing him to examine the Batman’s brain.
So you had to put a stop to this.
Y’see, Strange didn’t believe you knew.
So you set up a meeting for Professor Strange to teach you about criminal psychology, so you could “understand why someone would want to hurt my poor Bruce”
And you laid on the charm. Because you understand people, and it’s comically obvious what Strange wants - and it isn’t knowledge, or the furthering of science.
No. Strange wants recognition, power, and control.
He puts the “psycho” back in “psychotic”
So, you two are in his office, and you’re letting him blab about the criminal mind, pacing his office
Occasionally interjecting a subtle compliment that makes the Professor sit up a little straighter
You’ve been working on your sneakiness, and you palm a heavy-looking paperweight.
And then you pace behind the Professor, who’s been so fantastically charmed by you that he doesn’t even think to look at you.
And you quickly knock him out, using the paperweight like a club.
He wakes up in a straitjacket, strapped to a table in Arkham.
You smile at him before opening the door and letting the Batman in...
Villains are everywhere. You can’t always know if you’ve run into one...

Things We Said That We Regret (Batdad!Reader x Batfamily Headcanons)
Requested by @yesthetrashbin for the batboys finding Batdad hiding and crying after a big fight with Bruce and comforting him after giving Bruce a little talk.
Dick is the one to find you.
You both have the same hiding spot when you are sad - the old well in the Wayne Manor gardens.
It was put there over a century ago by a Wayne ancestor, who wanted a storybook garden for his two children.
Bruce never comes here because his mom and dad used to play games with him there.
“Pops?” he asks, voice small. You aren’t supposed to be sad. You’re the sunshine of this dreary city. Anytime you are sad, it feels like the whole world should be weeping.
He sits down beside you silently and hugs you. It’s a reversal of all the times you held him when he was here crying, and instantly he knows why.
Bruce.
“What happened, Pops?”
And you tell him.
It was a big fight. Occasionally they happen, even in the best of marriages.
Bruce yelled at you when you tried to patch up a wound. It was obvious that he needed a break, that he needed to rest and regroup, but he simply didn’t want to.
He said you were silly for worrying so much - that you couldn’t possibly understand why he couldn’t rest because you aren’t out there risking your life like he is
And you yelled back that he’s still just a child in a mask and cape trying to live out a childhood fantasy
Needless to say, you both regret what has been said.
But it’s hard, in those moments after an argument, to apologize. And it’s especially hard for Bruce.
You wipe your tears hurriedly as Damian comes up. “Papa, Titus has wandered onto the grounds, have you seen him?”
“You’ve been crying. Who has hurt you?”
Dick takes him to the side, telling you to go into the house, get something to eat.
You smile fondly at him. “When did you get to be the adult here?”
“What is going on, Grayson?”
“Not yet. Get the others. We need to talk.”
Jason’s fists clench when he hears you were crying.
“B made Y/N cry?” Tim asks. “Is he okay?”
Dick nodded. “He’s still pretty rough.”
Dick knows what is called for.
Jason and Damian are sent to comfort you - they’re the ones most likely to escalate the conflict (attack Bruce)
So Tim and Dick are left with the harder task of talking to Bruce.
Jason shows up first: him and Damian planned it so that it would seem more spontaneous.
You’re on the couch, reading, drinking tea Alfred made for you
“Stiff upper lip, Master Y/N. He’ll come round.”
Jason sits next to you and turns on the TV.
The strategy is to slowly move over until he’s right up next to you, and then he can pat your shoulder.
Jason’s not great at comforting people, okay?
Damian ruins this by slamming the door and yelling - “Papa! Come quickly!”
And you leap off the couch, knocking Jason over.
But he doesn’t mind because Damian couldn’t have planned it better.
Turns out Titus didn’t “wander the grounds”
He comes back with about six puppies in tow.
Very cute, adorable, nigh-helpless puppies just begging for a good cuddling.
So you, Jason, and Damian spend a long time cuddling with puppies, letting them yip and gambol over you.
Damian sorts them into Hogwarts houses and demands that you all find little Hogwarts robes for them.
Jason puts in the first Harry Potter movie so that the puppies can understand
Meanwhile...
Dick and Tim march into the Batcave.
“Do you know where Y/N is, right now?” Dick asks.
Bruce does not respond.
“Do you even care?” he asks.
Again, nothing.
Surprisingly, Tim is the first to blow up.
“Oh my GOD, Bruce! How can you be so STUPID? Do you really not see that Y/N is the best thing to happen to you... like, ever?! He’s smart! He’s strong! He puts up with patrol every night and never knowing if we’re all coming back alive! He stayed with you when Jason died, when Bane broke your back! And if you don’t see just how lost you’d be without him, then you aren’t just stupid. You’re insane.”
Dick only nods, because what else it there to say?
Except for this:
“When you’re ready to man up and do the right thing, we’ll be waiting with Y/N.”
And they both walk away.
They join you right about the point where Harry and Ron are late for Transfiguration.
No one questions the puppies. They each just take one and sit down.
A blanket fort has spontaneously formed, with you in the center, your sons bundled around you.
It’s actually pretty late, and one by one they start to fall asleep. One puppy has also fallen asleep being snuggled by Dick, so you definitely are keeping at least one puppy.
And you are the only one awake when Bruce appears.
He looks at the boys sleeping and then at you.
“Permission to come aboard?” he asks, smiling hopefully.
You nod, but don’t smile.
Bruce pulls a blanket around the two of you and sighs.
“Y/N, I’m sorry.”
You look at him, surprised. He chuckles a bit.
“Our sons gave me a little bit of a talk. And, I have to say... it helped. I’ve been an idiot.”
You look at him. “Ya think?”
He nods seriously. “You understand everything that goes on. Better than I do. I’m so busy trying to do what I think is right that I can’t step back and see what actually is. I would do well to listen to you more.”
“But you won’t.” you tell him.
He nods. “I’m a creature of habit. But one of my habits is that I always strive to be better.”
“A better Batman.”
“And a better husband.” he whispers. “So, please, I know it’s hard being with me sometimes, but I promise I will never stop trying to be better for you. Because I don’t deserve you yet. Maybe I never will. But I’d like to try. And I’ll-”
He’s still talking, and the speech is beautiful, but you can’t resist. You kiss him.
In the morning, Dick wakes first and sees you two, sleeping peacefully.
He goes back to sleep, confident that everything will be all right.
Jason wakes up.
He slaps his hand over Damian’s eyes.
“No! Spare the child! Avert your eyes! It’s too late for us...”

The Plague (Batdad!Reader x Batfamily)
Requested by Anonymous for a Batdad!Reader who still wants to work while being terrible sick.
“Come on, it’s not...that...ba-aaaa-aaa-aaa-CHOOO!”
And that’s the final straw.
Snot. YOUR snot.
All
Over
The
Batcomputer
and it’s gross.
But look. Alfred’s been bedridden with a bad flu. Probably it’s something that was released into the air weeks ago by some doctor-themed villain and forgotten about.
But you and Barbara are the last members of mission control left, and without you, this operation goes belly up.
And you’ve been working
Cooking. Getting fast food when there’s no time to cook. Laundry - for three men who don’t know the meaning of “washing machine” - and Dick and Damian, who have neat little piles of dirty clothes - despite a laundry hamper being not ten feet away
So it’s no wonder that that little bit of morning congestion you had last week kind of snowballed into the Black Death.
“What was that?” Bruce asks over comms.
“Dothib.” you say, realizing that you are now stuffy.
“What was that?” Jason asks.
“You had better be in bed by the time we get back, Y/N.” Bruce growls.
Jason and Tim chuckle. “OOOOooooooh.”
They come back to find you sweeping the Batcave with a dead Poison Ivy plant, singing “A Whole New World” from Aladdin, attempting to do both parts.
Jason and Dick help Bruce pick you up and carry you to your room, as you struggle a bit on the way.
And by struggle, I mean attempt to grab Bruce so you can reenact the ballroom scene from Beauty and the Beast.
Bruce goes on patrol solo for the next few nights. It’s clear you can’t continue, but the only rational thought in your head is that you want to.
Each of the boys has a different job to take care of you.
They draw straws for it so it’s fair. Everybody trades at least once.
Tim is forced to do the laundry.
Several times he is found asleep in the laundry room amongst a large pile of clothes. He and Jason argue the merits of folding.
Everyone gets cursed out for not using hampers
Jason has to keep the rooms and Batcave clean
Bruce is messier than you’d expect, so this is not easy.
Damian has to file all the paperwork that you usually save for Bruce.
*angrily, with the hint of tears* “Father, it’s unfair to expect any one person to file all those papers - you really need to organize your time better.”
Dick has to cook.
He can’t cook.
Cereal for breakfast
Takeout for dinner
Leftovers for tomorrow’s lunch.
Rinse, repeat.
The boys also have to trade off spending time with you to ensure you don’t run to the Batcave in a delirious fit.
Damian reads to you. It generally knocks you right out, and he is unsure to be relieved or offended.
Tim plays chess with you in your room, but even while you are in the midst of a hellish fever, you beat him easily.
“How, Y/N? How?”
“I dunno, Your Majesty, but may I say your crown is lovely?”
Dick and Bruce are blessed with overactive antibodies, so they never get sick. So Dick gets to sit in bed and watch a movie with you.
It was a mistake to rewatch Titanic. Now you’re choking because of the tears and because you can’t sob and breathe at the same time when you have a stuffy nose.
Jason plays video games in your room. For some reason, this is the only time you become lucid, although violent, as you tell him to slaughter his Fortnite enemies.
At the end of each night, Bruce comes to your room and cuddles you to sleep
He thinks you can’t hear him when he whispers to you
“Get well soon, Y/N. I need you by my side, so much...”
Everyone is relieved when you are better.
And it’s nice that now they appreciate more what you do for them.

Smile for the Camera (Batdad!Reader Headcanon)
Requested by @yesthetrashbin for Batdad!Reader kidnapped by the Joker for an extended period of time and the fam’s reactions
Beware - the Joker lies ahead. Gosh, that fellow makes me nervous...
AAAH! So sorry, just startled by the sight of my first GIF ever! Thanks for that suggestion, anon!
It wasn’t your fault. You did everything right.
There were guards out the wazoo at that gala. Everyone was on lookout for the Joker
But no one expected a simple-looking, un-makeup-ed man with credentials naming him Joseph Kerr to sneak into the gala and set off a smoke bomb with green-tinged smoke
By the time Batman and the others evacuate, you are missing.
Bruce goes to Gordon immediately, suspecting the Joker.
The Batfamily looks for you, getting the League to help, but even Clark can’t see or hear your voice.
And then a day turns into a week, then a week and a half. And after 264 hours, Tim screams.
He’s been watching his news feed. In a breaking story where Vicki Vale warns the viewers that the video is graphic and disturbing, you are on screen, tied to a chair, semi-conscious
You look horrible. Joker seems to have been torturing you the entire time. Your face is almost unrecognizably cut up and bloody, and your non-dominant hand seems to have been crushed by Harley’s hammer.
“Hell-ooooooo, Gotham! It’s your favorite person here with Y/N Wayne, Gotham’s greatest benefactor. I tip my hat to you, sir!”
Joker does an inane little bow and pats your shoulder. You don’t react. Tim seethes with rage
“But we’re not here to shoot the breeze! Batsy, I know you’re watching. Meet me at midnight precisely, or Gotham City might not be so chummy with you anymore for letting this guy die! Be there, or be square!”
And the feed cuts to black as the Joker digs his hand into one of your wounds and you scream bloody murder.
Bruce
Nothing else matters but you right now.
The public “Bruce Wayne” hasn’t been seen in days, enough time for the tabloids to speculate that he’s been seen meeting with the Bat to try and get you back
Clark writes a piece about a fake but touching interview where Bruce Wayne claims he’s trying to keep the family positive and pleads for the return of his husband
He hasn’t shaved, has barely eaten, and is completely focused on finding you.
He sees the video and figures immediately where the Joker is, but he forces himself into cold calculations - he can’t mess this up, or the Joker will kill you.
He gets everyone he possibly can to help. Diana, Clark, Ollie, Dinah, and Barry all volunteer, with the others taking care of their respective cities while they assist.
When it finally comes time, Barry super-speeds, undoing the traps and binds set on you and getting you to a hospital. The others proceed to make short work of the Joker.
Bruce stays in the hospital with you at all times, constantly holding your good hand, snarling at anyone who dares to ask him to consider moving or leaving
He cries unashamedly when you wake up - he was so afraid of losing you.
He won’t be overprotective afterwards, because he knows that even the greatest level of preparation can’t prevent everything bad, but he does ask you to stay in the Manor for a while, until he feels better about being apart from you.
I said he won’t be overprotective - but
You definitely have multiple trackers on you from now on.
Alfred
He’s been running on pure adrenaline this whole time
His first instinct in a crisis is to tell you how to serve as his second pair of hands, but he turns and remembers you aren’t there
He’s been trying to keep to your routine - making sure Damian and Tim sleep reasonably, keeping the peace between Jason and Bruce, helping Dick cope with life in general
Alfred’s got every hospital in Gotham standing by
He even considers calling in some old favors from his RAF days to have the Joker taken out
You and Bruce are like sons to him
And he no longer has any need for sleep when you are in danger
Afterwards he’s back to business
Although he does give you a warm “It’s good to have you back, sir”
He’s very formal
Because he wants to avoid triggering you with an emotional display
Because Alfred knows that you are the rock of the family, but he’s your rock
And he’ll be damned if you can’t depend on him for that.
If you are ever kidnapped again, he will call in those favors, hang Bruce’s “One Rule.”
Dick
Freaking out. To the point where he is unable to function
Bruce has been in mortal danger before, but the idea of losing you is unthinkable
He’s too distracted to assist in the search, so Bruce benches him.
Instead he’s tasked to look after Jason and Damian
He’s so worried, but he makes sure Damian sleeps
Even once lets the boy sleep in his bed
He makes sure Jason isn’t going to do anything rash
And he is merciless in his cheering-up tactics, taking a page out of your playbook
He constantly reassures them that you will be alright
That you need them to be good while you’re away
And that they will need to be on their best behavior when you get back
He’s so happy when you are saved.
He’s first to the hospital, and like Bruce, he refuses to leave your side.
Develops a bit of separation anxiety. He goes with you everywhere for the next several weeks.
One of the multiple trackers on you is his.
Jason
Filled with rage and fear.
Self-loathing, too. What if you get turned into something else like he did? What if they have to use a Lazarus Pit
He considers it, and he would do it
Anything other than letting you die
Dick keeps a tight watch on him
He knows he has to be a good person even when you aren’t there
He punches and fights hard, definitely maims, but doesn’t kill
Bruce benches him for your rescue
And he doesn’t want to disappoint you, so Jason allows it
He knows that he wouldn’t be able to stop himself killing the Joker.
When you’re back, he won’t know how to act.
He settles for hugging you often and being sarcastic a little less.
He’s just glad you’re safe, and back where you should be.
Tim
Probably handles it the best.
He’s been trawling through the Batcomputer’s data trying to find someplace where the Joker might be able to conceal you long-term
But the Joker doesn’t follow patterns, so this leads nowhere.
Tim basically shuts down his emotional side, focusing instead on cold hard facts, because if he didn’t, he might break
Tim might only show it when running on empty, but he loves and appreciates you as a parent every bit as much as the others.
There are some truly unhealthy mixes of energy drinks and coffee made during this period. Tim has developed several twitches by the time you are found.
He’s not at the hospital because he’s practically comatose for a week, recovering from what appears to be a caffeine overdose.
Assumes it’s a dream when you’re released from the hospital
Breaks down crying when he learns it’s not, and nearly re-breaks your just-healed ribs hugging you
Is traumatized by the event, and will not leave you alone at a gala for months after.
Damian
Handles it the absolute worst.
He is lost without you there. He throws a massive anger fit, the aftermath of which includes swords embedded in walls with no possibility of removal.
Like Jason, Damian is benched too. Dick is given the job of watching over him, and the two share a moment when Damian allows himself to cry.
He cannot be alone, so he goes with Dick everywhere
When you wished he would act his age, you didn’t think it would be like this
He hasn’t felt this angry at someone since Talia tried to kill you.
He spends the first few days staring at pictures of all the stuff you’ve done together since he came to the Manor
And the next few days he spends watching the news carefully for anything involving the search for you.
He tries to focus by helping Alfred do the necessary chores - laundry, getting food.
He spends a lot of time with his animals, who can sense his pain and try to comfort him.
Trust me, when you get better, you’re gonna need to find him a puppy or some kind of baby animal to make him feel better.
When you wake up in the hospital, he has gone to get water for Dick and Bruce. He may forever curse the ill timing, since he missed seeing you wake up
Damian will deny this, but he slept in yours and Bruce’s bed for the first few nights after you were cleared from the hospital, just to be sure that you’re still there.
Two of the trackers on you are Damian’s.
