8. Black and White Landscape

Because drawing black and white Arachne was so fun, and the effect turned out great, wanted another art like this. Breaking up with cliche Halloween-centric characters, here's my first landscape piece, therefore important. More like scribbles of a landscape, the one you'd see on the back of student's notebook, drawing because he's bored. But you gotta start with something and I had worse pieces, like the previous one. My favorite part is the shack in the middle.

And there it is again. Doing a good job of filling the space.

Here is an example of how I approach backgrounds for my animations.

Clip Studio Paint has a feature where you can display a 3D figure in any pose and perspective. I simply drop the figure onto the canvas and turn on 'show ruler' from the layer.

Once 'show ruler' is checked and you're happy with the perspective, draw the lines and use them as a guide to paint the backgrounds.

I also like using photographs that I took of buildings and public domain images, like this cityscape, to help add texture to the environments.

Though, I still prefer to create my backgrounds from scratch and only like to rely on photos for textures and a sense of the uncanny.
