can you share the discarded ideas for the senseific's title with us (if there's any you've given up on completely)? :3 (atp i presume it will always be remembered as senseific... for better or worse...)

sadly i've deleted them as I went, and i don't think my version history caught any of them (it doesn't go that far back, probably because i alter senseific... so often...). generally whenever i have an idea i just circle around it and try different combinations of words around that idea

here's what i have in consideration:

right now what's in my brain is that i want some kind of pun that refers both to the school setting and the kuwagami relationship...

1. We Never Learn Better

the original maybe-title for senseific. about kitakata and yagami's inability to meet in the middle which causes the conflict in their relationship

2. Where Credit's Due

another attempt starting from the idea of "extra credit". also about the kitakata-yagami relationship by being about yagami slowly conceding that kitakata is more helpful/capable than he initially acknowledges. i think this one is my least favourite of the bunch, though. might take this one off the list

3. Relationship in Revision

a new addition as of... last night-ish. supposed to reference both studying (i.e. exam revision, revising old material) and yagami and kitakata revising their initial impressions of each other. i don't really think the phrasing feels right but the concept is there... maybe i need to try a few more related word combinations before i settle...

but yes for better or for worse, senseific is always senseific to those who know. i don't mind it, it's functional and easy to remember. senseific my beloved...

Moon is not wearing a “proper” vest underneath, it’s just another shirt he had with the sleeves cut off. The vests are for extra warmth and seen as easier to work with given the setting and kind of work done. The basic idea was that whatever the hell he’s doing with it is cheaper than actually buying one

belts were made as a subtle attempt to reflect their opposite of anyone noticed them… if you’re reading this them clearly you do NOW

decided to not draw sun with his gun this time because I imagine it’s not… as important to his character… (totally didn’t forget guys trust) -was planning on making a SEPARATE ref for those anyways though. BUT WHAT I SAID FIRST STILL STANDS

scarring is very important, won’t straight up point out EVERY reason but I will say once again, very important, but when the fic is out you’ll eventually get to see why. Sun’s scratches are all surface level damage. it may be hard to tell on the doodle but a lot of Moon’s are a lot deeper than just simple scratches you get from regular wear and tear…

okay, let's talk about hyrde!

hello all! so, hyrde! i've been working on it in private for a bit now, so i figure it's high time i actually introduce it!

Come forth and a hearty welcome, outcasts! Wanderers, heretics, disdained souls – nought loved by Aestelwic or it’s inhabitants, but hate does us no good. Within the walls of Aestelwic, peace comes as naturally as the air, lo, that kind breath! The outside, however, is home only to savages; monsters, beasts, and truths none are quite ready to face in all their bloodied beauty.

the basics

hyrde is a story about a small world expanded by its own history, its secrets becoming its undoing. the village of aestelwic was always made to be small, quiet and contained; tight-knit and iron-ruled. however, across the town, seeds of doubt are breaking soil. you can call hyrde a speculative horror; this is a simple historical world with traces of magic, and folk + body + psychological horror.

an important theme of this story is about the children of a society. when you have a society, you must raise the next generation of that society, or it won't continue. hyrde's children are raised thusly; obedient and kind-hearted. they don't question the world that raised them, for it's the only world they know.

but when there is a cycle of pain, secrets, and suffering, and the next generation is raised to follow that without question, the society will never change for the better. that idea is central to hyrde.

hyrde is separated into many stories about the youth of aestelwic whose paths intertwine when such a thing is called for. the amyrran saga, the wræcca saga, the fyr saga, the sarig saga, the dyre saga, the casere saga, the offrian saga, and the hælan saga. these parts are all interconnected within the whole story of hyrde.

i am also considering making some of my own tracks relevant to certain characters or locations as well, will update when that occurs!

the progress

as for how much i've got done, a fairly good bit! hyrde is sitting strong with almost 15,000 words, but the massively purple prose does tend to make that number raise faster. the amyrran saga has the most done, about 4 chapters, and the debuts for the rest are being written!

i think that's all i have to say about hyrde! i'm very passionate about this one and really proud of how far it's gone already! with that, i bid you goodbye!

Do you ever sit there staring at your Stray Kids draft and think:

“Is this even good?” “What if no one reads it?” “How the heck do I post fics on Tumblr anyway??”

But the truth is—everyone starts somewhere, and Tumblr’s full of people who do want to read what you’re writing (yes, even that fluff fic where Chan is your barista).

This guide is for you—the new fic writer, the quiet reader finally ready to post, the person overthinking everything.

Tip 1: Set up your space

You don’t need a fancy theme or 10k followers. But having a cozy blog setup helps people find and follow your work.

Pick a username you like (bonus if it hints at SKZ or writing).

In your bio, mention your fics, SKZ biases, and any ships or genres you focus on.

Pin a post!!! Link your intro, a masterlist, or a WIP schedule—your call. The most important thing is that this stays ORGANIZED. If people cannot find your fics , they wont be able to read them.

Tip 2: Use tags like your fic depends on it (because it does)

Tags = Tumblr SEO. The first 20 matter most.

Here’s how to tag smart:

Ship (if any): #hyunlix, #minchan, etc.

🛑 Important: Don’t tag members, ships, or tropes that aren’t in your fic just for reach. That’s called false tagging, and it breaks trust with readers. Someone clicking #seungmin isn’t expecting a Jeongin x reader fic with zero Seungmin content 😅

Keep your tags accurate and relevant—it builds a loyal reader base way faster than overtagging ever will.

Tip 3: Use the “Read More” feature

If your fic is more than a few paragraphs, add a Read More break (the little scissors ✂️ in the editor). It keeps dashboards clean and your post looking tidy.

Bonus: You can add a fun header, a quote, or tags before the cut to hook readers in!

Tip 4: Make a Masterlist (even if you only have 1 fic)

HI sorry for not responding to this sooner we have been very busy lately and tumblr ate the first draft of our response to this but basically

The Etern1ty SMP is a vanilla+ Minecraft multiplayer server with 20+ or so active players on the whitelist, many of whom make videos and other content for the server. A lot of it is MCRP, of course, but there's also a ton of genuine silly moments.

It's the sequel to the Ephemeral SMP, which only lasted 5 hours, and is very much haunted by its predecessor.

Lucky (luckyrabbitclaws) @luckyrabbitclaws - With well-edited, well-acted episodes, Lucky's perspective is the best to start off with for those new to the series. Not only does it provide context for many of the events on the server, but he also puts a lot of time and effort into the details, drawing the thumbnails for the episodes himself and making sure to add trigger warnings to the start of his episodes when applicable.

Gallade (Galladegamer) @galladegamer - Guy of all time who gets into every situation ever and is involved with basically everything on the server. This makes his POV great if you aren't put off by how many episodes he has! Gallade is one of the funniest people on the server in my opinion, and that extends to his editing style as well- it's simple but well-done, with fantastic comedic timing. 100% recommend. His latest episode includes an ARG that leads to some extra bonus content, too, if you're into that.

Keys/Six (darubyprincxx) @syn4k - Server admin, started recording late (about two weeks into the server), perspective covers topics like learning to move on from the past, the complexities and weight of knowing what will happen in the future (they can see past the 4th wall), and how to deal with the knowledge that you messed up. quick question: do you by chance know if dame aylin's "child of the moonmaiden" feature is a combat only feature?

Quick answer: No, it's a passive ability and it's visible most of the time on her character sheet regardless of combat. Here's a couple of example screenshots.

Long answer below, because I had some fun digging into the implementation of her immortality a bit more.

So, Child of the Moonmaiden is visible as a passive when you examine Aylin whenever she has (a specific one of!) her resurrection statuses enabled - which is not all the time, but again isn't tied to combat. You can take a look at how it gets handled in various game scripts here, as well as search for other objects or statuses or absolutely anything of interest. Aylin's immortality stuff can get a bit convoluted to track, though. What you want to be on the lookout for are mainly these three things:

1. GLO_NIGHTSONG_RESURRECTION aka "Moonmaiden's Reconstitution" which is a Status that does nothing by itself, and instead works by giving Aylin a Passive ability, which then applies some effects to her,

2. SHA_NightsongResurrection aka "Child of the Moonmaiden" which is that Passive. It alters Aylin's reaction to being downed by replacing the "normal" DOWNED status everyone gets with GLO_NIGHTSONGRESURRECTION_DOWNED - this implements the downed behaviour you've probably seen her do, and that she might get stuck in if in Myrkul's anti-healing bone chill aura: she's auto-stabilised instead of killed if she hits 0 HP, and when her next turn starts she attempts to regain 1 HP and then has her move and bonus actions if she succeeds. The spell Death Ward is implemented in a very, very similar way to this, by changing a character's default downed status to a special DEATH_WARD_DOWNED status. For reference, this is what that spell is described to do: "Protect a creature from death. The next time damage would reduce it to 0 Hit Points, it remains conscious with 1 Hit Point left." Sounds familiar, no?

3. GLO_NIGHTSONGRESURRECTION aka "Nightsong Soars Eternal" which is a Status that doesn't give any permanent passives (so you won't see it just hanging around on her character sheet like you will CotM), but instead has a short duration, and immediately runs a "Resurrect()" call on Aylin when it expires.

Having done a bit of scripting for the game myself now, I'm finding it easier to make sense of all of these than when I made this post. Still, this is me reverse engineering stuff and if anyone has any corrections or additions, I'd welcome them!

So, about Child of the Moonmaiden/Moonmaiden's Reconstitution, because you don't have one without the other, and about Nightsong Soars Eternal, which resurrects Aylin in a slightly different way and gets applied to her only ever if she's "died".

Aylin doesn't have CotM before you free her, even though she will always resurrect here unless you specifically kill her in the cutscene with Shadowheart and the spear:

How so? Most of the time, if you see Aylin pop up even though she has no CotM passive visible, it means Nightsong Soars Eternal was applied to her. But first, how does the game even apply statuses to characters (or anything, really)? And when does Aylin get CotM?

To apply a Status to a character you execute this call somewhere within your code: ApplyStatus([target character], [status to apply], [duration of status], [force of status - this is an override for resistances and the like and is not super relevant here], [source of status]).

A note in advance, whenever you see this great big unwieldy string of characters: S_GLO_Nightsong_6c55edb0-901b-4ba4-b9e8-3475a8392d9b -> [happy Isobel voice] This is Aylin!

Here's an example of a bit of code that handles Aylin's resurrection and which includes this call. This is a snippet included in the big script that handles the assault on Moonrise Towers at the end of Act 2, but something similar to this appears in several different places and, while there are a bunch of other bits and pieces and failsafes and helpers, this is in general how the game ensures Aylin doesn't stay dead:

What this essentially translates to is the following:

IF Aylin is in the database of currently dead characters (nooooo) AND the Moonrise assault is in progress AND Aylin having been permakilled by Shar's spear in the Shadowfell is FALSE (aka zero) AND we were able to correctly fetch data about Aylin's faction/approval THEN set this approval so she is an ally to the player (shows up as green, affected by friendly spells etc.) and give her the "Nightsong Soars Eternal" status lasting for 6 seconds.

She is both the target and the source of this effect, as there isn't anyone else casting it on her. Once the 6 seconds (aka one standard D&D combat round) have passed, the status will expire, and whatever is in its "OnRemoveFunctors" part will happen - and that is a simple Resurrect(100, 10) call. The numbers there mean Aylin is immediately resurrected with a 100% chance and at 10% of her max HP (as opposed to CotM's 1 HP). This usually results in her being at 9HP if this happens.

So there you have it, a friendly Aylin will pop right back up. The Ketheric/Myrkul boss fight in the mindflayer colony has a very similar snippet, for instance. But an important thing to note is that IF Aylin has CotM active aka visible when you examine her, that one will always kick in first. As many people asking for help salvaging their Honour Mode runs after aggroing Aylin in camp will tell you, combat against Aylin if she has CotM literally cannot end. She will keep getting up with 1 HP (she does not state that she didn't hear any bell, but she does loudly exclaim HO! I HAVE RETURNED! and I love her for it). The variant using Nightsong Soars Eternal has her actually leave combat for a bit, so if she's your only enemy, this will usually make combat end and let you exit turn-based mode, plus it makes her non-hostile approval-wise. (And of course, all of these things can bug out in a bunch of different ways.)

This is what it looks like in camp without CotM (sorry, Aylin).

Moving on, there is another way of calling this same function, and that is ApplyStatus([status], [chance of applying status], [duration of status]). A nice example of this appears in a very relevant-to-our-interests code related to the Soul Cage - both in the Shadowfell and in the mindflayer colony. The bit, in particular, that goes like this:

OnRemoveFunctors ApplyStatus(GLO_NIGHTSONG_RESURRECTION, 100, -1);

Just like above, "OnRemoveFunctors" defines what happens when the Soul Cage is removed from Aylin (no matter how this was achieved). So as soon as Aylin's free of the Soul Cage, she's given her Moonmaiden's Reconstitution/Child of the Moonmaiden variant resurrection with a 100% chance and a duration of -1, which means it has no chance of failure and it lasts until it is explicitly removed by some other bit of code. Again, this happens both when you free her in her prison, and when you free her in the colony after she's been recaptured - from that moment on, she has CotM until something removes it.

What's one prominent place this status explicitly gets removed? Why, Ramazith's Tower, and it happens when combat starts regardless of allegiances, as seen here in the script that handles Sorcerous Sundries:

Fairly simple, right? If Aylin is in combat, and if Lorroakan is in combat, and the final confrontation has begun, remove the resurrection status from Aylin. Why? As mentioned above, CotM means any combat against Aylin very literally never ends, so siding against her would be an unwinnable scenario. There is also a fail state in which she gets downed after you've sided with her and you flee from combat against Lorroakan - if you return, you'll see he's captured her. Why doesn't she resurrect using Nightsong Soars Eternal? That whole implementation of checking if she's dead is not present in the Sorcerous Sundries script at all. So if downed in the tower, Aylin will stay dead until one of two things happens: you've betrayed her and you leave and return, upon which she will be caged again and swearing her vengeance against you, OR you've sided with her and the combat ends. Then she'll pop back up for her backbreaker cutscene, and it will be via this custom bit of scripting:

If the combat is over, Aylin is down, Lorroakan is dead and the player didn't side with Lorroakan, get Aylin up and do a "full restore" of her.

This makes way for some of the most delightful of checks in a segment of code marked as "//REGION Nightsong going to WWE Lorroakan":

The many branching variants handled here were actually really interesting to see, from who is alive at the end of the fight and who the player sided with to whether Isobel is still alive and whether Lorroakan's corpse has a head.

There's also a Patch 3 fix for older savegames, addressing a bug that I remember being fairly common, where Aylin would just not ever resurrect after the wizard tower and sometimes wouldn't ever come back to camp. It basically looks at your save, just checks a couple flags and triggers Nightsong Soars Eternal on Aylin if she is for whatever reason still in the "dead characters database" even though you sided with her against the wizard (and didn't kill her in the Shadowfell, of course).

Just in case anyone missed me dying on my hill, by the way, none of this has anything to do with her "breaking her oath" or "losing her mother's favour" or anything of the sort, because none of that happens at all.

I also love the straightforwardness of some of her behaviour parameters and the comments:

Lots of moving parts to this Fraymotif, and it seems that you have an idea what everyone's doing. I will warn you that my interpretations when it comes to Classpecting are a little different, but overall, it's pretty similar.

Brighter Days for the Unison al Coda

Page of Light [one who becomes and becomes fully realized through information, relevance, and fortune] + Bard of Time [one who allows the destruction of and invites destruction through time, change, and activity] + Witch of Heart [one who manipulates and manipulates through emotion, essence, and the self] + Maid of Doom [one who serves and serves through death, decay, and finality] Mage of Space [one who understands and understands through space, creation, and passivity] + Rogue of Mind [one who redistributes and redistributes through reason, order, and consequences]

Brighter Days (Good times to come) + Unison (multiple voices or instruments playing the same note in the same octave) + al Coda (meaning "go to the coda", in reference to music notation that sends the player back to an earlier part in the piece to repeat it.)

The Bard allows destruction both through Time, but also through being active as a component of the Time Aspect. From this, the active Classes (Page, Witch, and Mage) will have a slight "tint" if you will of Time-destruction. Bonus Bard Boosts (TM) ensue.

The Bard sort of weakens the distinction between timelines enough for the Rogue takes a bunch of adjacent near-future possibilities and give them to the Mage. The Mage (who can't really do anything with raw outcome data alone) manifests them into physical time-loop bubbles, which the Mage conjures into physical space, overwriting pockets of the area around them. These bubbles basically are a fully-immersive loop wherein some or all of the Mage's allies fight the Targets in various ways in snippets of alternate near-future events.

The Witch takes all instances of each Target both in and out of these bubbles, and modifies their in-game ID value (because SBUB is still very much a game at Heart) until they read as the same identical unit. The Maid then "flags" this ID value to update all of the connected Targets' health vials simultaneously, causing any damage dealt to one to reflect on all other instances. All of the instances being attacked on loop in the time bubbles around rack up exponentially across all other instances thanks to the Maid.

The Witch harnesses the Page's self-realization, and forces it to break past the barriers present in their personal journey, sort of similar to how Aranea got Jake to do a Hopey thing but more direct and targeted. The Rogue again gives knowledge of the various possible futures to the beefed-up Page, and with aid from the Bonus Bard Boosts (TM) for passively destroying Time, the Page uses their command over relevance and fortune to defy the intended "alpha timeline" by just enough to force canon to follow the events of the Fraymotif.

The Maid has to serve Doom as the basis of their powers, but they cant just go about facilitating the end of the current timeline with how relevant the Page and their allies are at the moment. The solution to this is to get the Mage to teleport them out of the scene (and possibly into a wall, wherein they may waste away from a potassium defeciency), giving them the privilage of dying off-screen, irrelavent. Before the timeline can succumb to its ill fate, the Rogue takes the looped outcomes all around the place and uses the gaping hole in the timeline that the Bard forgot to close up (time slipped away from them and they weren't able to get to it yet) to toss the outcomes back where they found them. The Page's Lighty Thing dies down as the Maid and Witch work in tandem to work the limiter back onto the Page.

The Targets from this timeline are brought back by the Mage, but up in the air so they take fall damage, ending the Fraymotif.

I wanna talk about my top 5 musicians that I got into this year + 2 bonuses. Not one's that released this year, just ones that I found out this year.

These will be out of order since I don't want to rank them. Oh also I'll only share 1 song that's my favorite from them.

NewJeans

Ok sorry to start with a remix (If I had to choose an original, it'd be "ETA") but this is the song that introduced me to NewJeans. Apparently, I think "Super Shy" was their big trendsetting song but I haven't heard of it till now I think. I love their style so much!!

Hakushi Hasegawa

I shared a couple of his songs earlier in the year, with Doku being a standout because it sounded like Nintendo took a lot of inspiration from them for one of their Hero Mode OSTs in Splat3 (though I didn't hear about it till this year). I had a hard time choosing between Doku, Somoku and a couple other songs from Air Ni Ni (Only You, Desert and Itsukushii Hibi are one of my favorites in there), but I think Doku is such a great song as an introduction to them (Hasegawa uses they/them pronouns by the way).

MAXIMUM THE HORMONE

I... Never heard of the name "Maximum The Hormone" until this year. In-fact, the way I officially learned their band was through a Chainsaw Man chapter titled "ChuChu Lovely MuniMuni MuraMura". AND I WATCHED THE ANIME FIRST. I HAD NO IDEA THEY WERE THE ONE WHO MADE THE 3RD ED. And if we wanna go even further, I never watched Death Note, AT MOST, I'VE HEARD A SNIPPET OF THE OP, WAY LONG AFTER IT'S RELEVANCY and I still didn't know of their name. I do like all of the songs I've mentioned, but I think F is a super solid song that's also a normal song length with a good guitar solo.

So I found out about Femtanyl from their biggest song titled "KATAMARI" and of course I had to listen to it because I love Katamari!! I love the Prince!! Most of their songs are super good, I considered either this one, Katamari or Push ur t3mprr. Their newest one with Danny Brown is also really good.

Sonic Coaster Pop

Spotify actually did a good thing and suggested me a really good album for once. I LOVEEE THIS ALBUM, I LOVE THAT EACH SONG TRANSITIONS TO THE NEXT ONE!! But Super Speed Pop Star is the standout one for me. IT'S SUCH A MUNCH ALBUM. I think this counts as Neo Shibuya-Kei or Electropop (correct me if I'm wrong) and I've dipped my toes a bit into it for a long while like CAPSULE, Nagisa Cosmetic (first one I was introduced into the genre) and Plus Tech Squeeze Box.

I've been wanting to find more songs like them, but I haven't been able to much, mostly because I like finding them in the wild through suggestions from the platform I'm listening on. Also, because I like a lot more of the electro styled songs rather than traditional Shibuya-Kei (which is still good!!). I'm really happy to find a new one to get into this year.

I'm adding 2 more because one of them is a band that just came out this year or debuted really late 2023, and the other is just 1 really standout songs that I REALLY like.

ILLIT popped off hard for their debut(?) with Magnetic being their trendsetting song, but I like this one a lot more in their album. FLASHING LIGHTS/IMAGES WARNING, I couldn't even share the original video because it's much worse than this one, but that aside, I really really love this song. It helps a lot that I got into Dai Dark this year and I associate this song a lot with it. I really want to do an edit one day with either Dai Dark or Dorohedoro with this song. One day... MAYBE SOON SINCE I LEARNED A BIT MORE OF VIDEO EDITING (even though it's just the very basics).

Music is something I don't really share that often or like sharing that much, though I figured I'd talk about it this year since I'm very passionate about listening to music. I've also started sharing much more music this year and it feels nice. I know some of these aren't that niche but I just learned about them this year and wanted to talk about them.

so um. ‘black as the ace of spades’ refers to be completely black; totally without light or colour, [lack of] morality or [lack of] cleanliness in a person. the ace of spades is also known as ‘the spadille’ and ‘death card’, and is traditionally the highest and most valued card in the deck (pointing at how he was the center of marineford).

also! in warfare, [the ace of spades] could be used to psychologically unsettle adversaries to instill fear (hinting again at marineford and the way civilians were fearful of him as soon as it was told he was the son of roger).

it MIGHT be a stretch but i dont think so cause ‘rogue [et noir]’ is a card game but also ace’s beloved mama, one of ace’s crewmates is deuce (lowest ranking card in poker), his first crew before the whitebeards were called ‘spades’ and their ship’s name was ‘piece of spadille’.

bonus: only joker (agent of chaos, embodiment of the cruel randomness of fate) can outrank the ace. said fate plays a big role onto how teach wouldn’t have killed thatch if he hadn’t found the yami yami no mi, and how luffy didn’t fight blackbeard in the skypea arc by pure luck.

so yeah. ace was doomed from the start.

I don't think you're stretching at all; you're right on the money! It makes me laugh because it's not exactly subtle, yet I didn't clock on to the reasoning behind Ace's name and everything until Marineford! But, as you say, that's when it all becomes particularly relevant, I guess. Oda was effectively like, "This guy's called Death! Guess what's gonna to happen to him?" and none of us were prepared!! 😭 Doomed from the start, indeed.

What you said about the ace of spades in relation to warfare makes a lot of sense; psychological warfare is the Marines' business. The way they assassinated Kuma's character is a perfect example! (Had Ace lived, I imagine they would've done something similar to him.) Using Ace's existence as a fear tactic is a sensible move from the Marines; it works against the public and against Ace himself, the self-hating sad boy. :(

Also, I love that little snippet about the joker card! "Cruel randomness of fate" is dead-on. And I'd actually never heard of rouge et noir before, but that's very interesting, for sure.

if you walk into any of the dressing rooms of every member of the chosen, they are listening to such different music to get ready it would actually make your heads spin. out of their botb fellow contestants, damien is most likely to listen to conventry (bc he's literally never been wrong), courtney is bumping kolivition, spencer is playing some classic smosh, and shayne is listening to ftc!!

i have in my brain what all of the songs are like. About ya know. so for example damien did the backing vocals for augustus and i have this idea in my brain that like. augustus IS this universe's manifestation of the character augustus. so like i think all of the chosen has a hand in writing the songs and damien co-wrote this one and it's just like. about a lonely lost kid who's awkward and doesn't fit in. like obviously it's a much less joking interpretation and more of a serious one but anyway it's still about him. is this making sense? i have No idea anymore!

courtney has also done some co-/backing vocals, and is the most likely to be featured on a track! she's featured on nuclear rain, and she also does a fun lil harmony for 'shoot dood.' shayne is the only one that has not sung and their fans keep begging but he REFUSES

'down bad' is their first like... love song? although it's technically just about how embarrassing being vulnerable and being in love are. smth smth the overwhelming ordeal of loving someone.

anyway it also opens with a snippet of a voicemail from kiana to spencer (probably from like years ago not about anything relevant) telling him to 'get up girl'. kiana is Not here for the fame, in fact she would rather no one knew who she was but unfortunately life be like this. after the ep drops the media goes fucking Nuts with rumors of whether or not they're dating.

they have fans who love the whole band but the amount of damien girls is of course insane. the other three mock him relentlessly for it. there is an entire instagram dedicated to updates about his hair.

lisa has put spencer on twitter timeout several times especially from the band's twitter bc he is Terrible for publicity. the order of worst to best for tweeting are: spencer, shayne, courtney, and damien

"up & coming" is like a netflix reality show about small bands really trying to make it, and they were featured after kiana got in contact with the showrunner. it basically followed them as they made their third ep and interviewed them and people they know. it's very much a 'before they were famous moment.'

damien bet shayne $20 that he wouldn't stare into the camera in every single shot. shayne committed to the bit. no one said anything and they kept every single shot in and NO ONE knows why.

So! There are so many characters (and a handful of AUs to go with them), because I do a lot of RP and tabletop games with friends and that inevitably turns into words. Exploring characters and themes and just showing affection to my friends by smashing our little guys into each other on a page. It took me a minute to file down what I wanted to spew about today.

There's this game called galactic. It's basically a system that, to paraphrase the author (Riley Rethal) lets you tell the kind of star wars stories you wish you'd gotten to see in the theatre. This isn't especially important to today's snippet but it will become somewhat relevant if I keep talking about the other iterations of these characters in the future.

There's also a comic, Abyss Reflections by ZC_Coffee. It's a beautiful little story about a modern future and a supposed fantasy past that one character remembers but the other does not. It got me thinking about Vex Vincent, my Scoundrel from Galactic and the ever-present temptation to make a knight au. (He/him for Vex)

Of course I don't do things the easy way! Because the art reminded me of Vex, I really needed to figure out a kind of Knighthood that made sense for a man of his personality. Additionally, 'what if Knights were Different' is a take that will always hook me.

There's no Knight School. No one knows (remembers?) how the Swords came to be here. There are many of them, some of them will offer a name, many refuse. Less people ask than you might think, anyway. You can't hear a Sword unless it's chosen you to Wield it.

There's a lot of ways to come into a Sword. Sometimes you wake up with it in your hand. Sometimes you inherit it. Sometimes you defeat the owner in combat (not always the deadly kind).

It's hard to trace if it's a consistent Per Sword thing or if it really is all about the whim of the blade.

I know more now about several of the Swords and what their conditions/motivations are, but these things aren't widely known truths of the setting.

Knights are a bit busy with the Calling to sit around and participate in research. (Also, I don't think people are doing research. Swords just Do Things. They choose their Knights, or they unchoose them.)

Vex didn't ask for his. He won't tell you how it came to him, not even Gerard—not that a Prinxe would ask such a question. (He fell down a hole and into Knighthood, kind of literally.)

Venia Gerard is the runaway heir to the Saint, the largest authority figure in this dystopian fantasy setting. (she/he/they) But their relationship with Vex is a whole several other posts.

The Calling isn't just one blanket cause the Knights speak to. A Calling exists between the Knight and the Sword. The pair don't always agree, either.

There is no cohesive Order among the Knights, or the Swords. Some Knights band together as long as they're Called on the same direction. There's at least one pair of Swords that are inseparable, for better or worse of those they choose to carry them.

Knights are rather mysterious and often solitary.

Why hold a Halloween event?

Much like FinnPoe Week this event will allow creatives in the FinnPoe fandom to come together for a week to celebrate the ship and create works for them. With the added bonus of it specifically centring Halloween, this will allow for stories that are unique. 

What does it involve?

During October 23-31, you guys will be given a bingo card with 9 prompts, from which you are free to choose as many prompts as you would like in order to make content for FinnPoe. 

Do I have to write or make new content for the event?

While we would encourage new content, it's okay to repurpose old work as long as it hasn't been posted before (unless you are rewriting, redrawing or re-editing said work and will be creating a new and separate post for it.)

How involved do I have to be?

We encourage everyone to be involved however we understand that everyone has lives outside of FinnPoe (unfortunately) so it's entirely okay to participate as little or as much as you want. If you don’t want to create anything but would still like to participate as a spectator, we would encourage you guys to check out our spectator activities.

How can I participate?

Easy! Create a piece of media centring FinnPoe using one or more of the prompts on the bingo and post it using the tags or under the Ao3 collection.

How can I participate if I don’t want to/are not able to create new content?

We have a spectator checklist which includes a range of activities in order to celebrate the event and support the creators who are participating. 

What tags should I use?

While you guys are more than welcome to prepare early, please do not post your submissions before their respective days or it might get messy for all involved.

Can I submit late?

Absolutely! We are taking submissions for this event up until our next one.

When is the deadline? Is there a specific timezone?

There is no hard deadline and we’re not going off a specific time zone either, so you are free to post according to your timezone. 

Do I need to make full-on masterpieces?

You absolutely can but it is not necessary. A simple sketch, a first draft of a fic, a snippet of an edit or their equivalent is also fine. 

Why have themes or prompts?

Themes provide coherence and inspiration. Without them, people will either create whatever they want and there’s no order or purpose to the event OR people get stuck on what they want to do and end up doing nothing. We will have a free day to allow for more freedom and flexibility. With the addition of this being an event specific to Halloween this will allow content creators to consider new avenues for an already beloved ship. 

Do we win anything if we complete the bingo or spectator checklist?

The first three people to DM us to show that they have finished off all the prompts on the bingo (with evidence) will be able to suggest a prompt for next year’s FinnPoe Week. The same goes for those who have completed the checklist.
