knives has the entire holy bible memorized. old testament and new testament. no, i will not elaborate.

despite what he would have you believe, birthdays are quite important to him. however, he sees them more as an act of rebirth instead of an annual celebration of the day one is born (mainly because he wasn't actually born to begin with). all of the gung-ho guns are given a birthday party when they are inducted into the gang.

knives is actually very creative-oriented. not only does he play the piano, but he has also tried painting and writing poetry. despite hating human, he is fascinated by the tortured souls of the human race. i think he tries to understand that agony and finds joy in their pain.

vash and nai both like chocolate cake. which led to the twins always fighting over the sweet rem would give them. nai let vash win most of the time.

learning that vash had tried to kill himself while he was unconscious is the real catalyst that set knives down his genocidal path. because he will never forgive himself for leaving vash alone with humans when he needed him the most.

rimbaud was the one to teach verlaine how humans express individuality through their appearance. while most of his clothes were provided to him for his operations, one of verlaine's first steps towards individuality was deciding on a style for himself. this is where the braid and ponytail come from.

after the events of storm bringer, verlaine can control rimbaud's singularity keeping his heart going if he so wished. he can create a space around himself, meaning he will always have complete agency over his body from now on. however, he never uses it, content to simply let rimbaud's last gift to rest within his heart.

aside from those who he trains while in his self-isolation, the only two people verlaine will speak to are chuuya and dazai. he may be an executive, but verlaine still does what he wants.

the first person verlaine probably trained was actually chuuya. not that he ever had any plans on molding his brother into an assassin, but he did give him proper martial arts training. he took all of chuuya's raw power and talent and sharpened it to a fine blade to give chuuya the title of best martial artist in the port mafia. even better than himself.

verlaine doesn't dream. this also means he can't have nightmares. but he still has feelings. sometimes when he's alone he can remember what it feels like to be guivre. he can still feel its hate, can even still feel the monstrous body like a phantom. these feelings are written in his poetry but nothing makes it easier.

Toadsworth was originally steward to the Mushroom Queen, the current regent’s late mother. They were very close friends, often spending hours in deep conversation, always at one another’s sides (to the point that whispers of an illicit affair between the two weren’t entirely uncommon, though certainly untrue — he loved her just as dearly as the King did, yes, but in a completely different manner). When she became pregnant with the King’s child, she cheerfully asked Toadsworth if he would like to be its godfather. He accepted.

Mercifully, she gave birth to a perfectly healthy baby girl, and then three weeks later she passed peacefully in her bed, her husband and her steward both by her side.

The King fell into grief so immense that it swallowed him whole, and he shut out the world and numbly threw himself into his duties as monarch to cope. And though he too grieved for his dearest friend, Toadsworth had every intention of honoring her wishes: he took in his godchild — Peach, the Queen had named her, because she looked a great deal like the fruit when she was born, plump and swaddled in pink — and he raised her in her parents’ place.

Three years after he lost the love of his life, pneumonia or something similar befell the King, and he put up no fight against it, dying no more familiar with his wife’s child than he had been the day she was born. But in raising Peach, Toadsworth found the healing his King had shunned; he processed his grief between late-night feedings and tired lullabies sung in scratchy voices, and soon the love he felt for her as the last living reminder of his best friend became far more: the love a father feels for his own.

To this day, Peach doesn’t know that Toadsworth is her godfather. He never told anyone, least of all her; when she asks for stories of the woman she never knew, he’ll happily tell her all except for that little tidbit. He’s merely her humble steward, serving her as he served her mother. But he’ll always consider himself her father in secret… and Peach, in turn, is all too happy to consider herself his daughter.

i know morality and c!dream can be a sticky subject especially bc of how like, unreliable this guy is when he talks abt himself, but as much as we repeat lines in daedalus i do think that it's worth remembering that his whole ... "oh evil is in the eye of the beholder" "everyone is the hero in their own story" "they're not excuses theyre reasons" "im evil but the ends justify the means" ETC of it all is like. self protective?

like no, c!dream isn't a character that is all that occupied with morality from the beginning, obviously. but at the same time this is also a character where the crux of the damn matter when c!tommy finally gets through to him is you know, no, dumbass, you aren't Just Irredeemable Evil you're an idiot asshole that chose to do shitty things and there are, in fact, other paths you can choose. this is also a character that has a whole breakdown on his own about the "thin line between good and evil" where he wrestles with his own morality and humanity in comparison to a fucking snake. this is a character that is SO FUCKING BOTHERED by c!sam's like, everything, c!quackity's sadism, c!wilbur confronting him over lmanburg (i'm a tourist. not a terrorist.) Bartylus?

i'm not much of a jegulus or bartylus shipper. it's not that i don't ship them it's just i'm not deep into these ships, just on the suface level currently. i've read some jegulus and a few bartylus fics and headcannons.

but one thing i find myself thinking about (?) - barty's reaction about jegulus, sirius getting close to regulus again.
