Hello Tumblr! \o/ I'm making a post to let you know that I've released a new BL visual novel, In Fair Spirits! You can check it out on Steam here or Itchio here if you're interested! Yay! ❤
In Fair Spirits is a sweet and wholesome slice of life story which details the slowly developing relationship between Edmund, a knight from medieval England who finds himself reincarnated into the 21st century for... reasons, and Abel, a peppy goth boy who speaks in incomprehensible internet slang that Edmund can't understand. (I decided Abel should've used Tumblr excessively during 2013/2014, so he spent a looooot of time on this hellsite lmao As a result, he makes the odd reference here and there to Superwholock, the Once-ler fandom, RPing with randos on his dashboard, and all sorts of other things which would make somebody born more than ten centuries go wrinkle their nose and be incredibly confused sksksk Abel please stop speaking in dated memes challenge: failed) Edmund and Abel might seem like polar opposites but, surprisingly enough, they discover they have one or two things in common (it's trauma). They wind up bonding, and then... Well, this is a romance story, so lovey-dovey things happen, of course! This VN is actually the third in a series, the first being The Fairy's Song and the second being The Fairy's Secret. In Fair Spirits is a direct sequel to The Fairy's Secret, and it takes place around a year after the events of that story. You don't need to have read Fairy's Song or Fairy's Secret to grasp what happens here, though, as the stories of these two VNs are summed up at the beginning of the story, and are more or less irrelevant to the narrative. I hope you enjoy this VN if you do choose to check it out! I think Ed and Abel are both very cute boys (even if Abel has a lot of internalised homophobia and some pretty toxic notions about masculinity owing to A Lot Of Bullying during his teenage years ;a;), and I'd love to know what other people think about them! They are both my precious meow meows and I love them a lot, even if Abel is pretty toxic hahaha........

Hi i hope you doing well. I have a resquest... more like a headcanon. What if Adam was a dad ? What his behaviour will be ? Does he be a good or a bad father ?
I understand if you don't do it. I don't want to force you for something you don't want to.
Dadam (Dad!Adam) Headcanons
Tumblr media
we bringing out the daddy issues on this one boys
WARNINGS: none
A/N: I haven't done a headcanon type of post yet, but they're easier to write than regular one shots and I'm too tired for that shit. The request didn't specify what kind of Reader (spouse or child), so I just went with general headcanons that don't specify the Reader at all. Insert yourself as you wish!
Also, thank you all for your patience! It's been very busy for me lately and I've been too exhausted to write much, so expect a lot more of these kinds of posts (the formatting is easier and I don't have to write a bunch of dialogue lol).
Dividers
Tumblr media
As the father of humanity, Adam had...a lot of kids. The guy lived for 800+ years just populating the earth. That's a LOT of kids. We all know how the first two turned out. That is, not fuckin' well. To be honest, I don't think Adam valued his children. It was just kinda... a thing he had to do. (When Abel died and Cain got exiled, he fr just went and had another kid to replace them.) But I am in deep, deep denial and this is for my enjoyment as someone with severe daddy issues. So fuck all that.
At first, Adam is 100% the guy that freaks the fuck out when he finds out he knocked someone up. That man is SWEATING. He's actually pretty chill if it's someone he's in an established long-term relationship with, though. He still freaks the fuck out, but to a significantly lesser degree and with a much smaller chance of up and leaving. Once he's over the initial shock, he's shocked to find that he's kind of excited. Back when he was alive, having kids was just normal because it was such a common occurrence.
This man knows every little detail about pregnancy and infants. With the amount of kids he's had? He has seen it ALL. Sure, all his information is thousands of years old, but knowledge learned through experience is super valuable when it comes to this shit! He doesn't know what the fuck a uterus is, but he knows exactly how to make his partner the most comfortable, how to deal with cravings, etc. If his partner has a problem, he's got a solution. It might be a fuckin' weird one, but it works! He'll probably grumble and complain, but he doesn't actually mean it. Bitching is just his thing, y'know? But... pregnancy hormones + Adam's douchebag-ness = feelings getting hurt. If his partner starts crying because of some shit joke or complaint he made? He's scrambling so fast. "Shit, babe, fuck, I'm sorry, I didn't mean it, fuckfuckfuck, don't cry—"
Once the baby is born, he definitely surprises literally everyone but his partner by actually doing helpful shit. Changing diapers? Easy fuckin' peasy (he does watch a tutorial online because he doesn't know how tf modern diapers work but he's a fast learner) Feeding? No problemo. Getting up in the middle of the night to do both of those things? His sleep schedule's already fucked, this shit ain't new.
When it comes to parenting and raising the kid, though... that's definitely where Adam struggles. He'd struggle with bonding. A lot. Adam mostly talks about things that you really shouldn't say around children, much less bond over. I think he'd be better at just letting the kid ramble while he's just sitting there, fully engrossed in whatever bullshit his child is saying. He's not just passively listening with little 'uh-huh's and nods, this man is active in the discussion. Have you ever heard a small child speak? They say the most random shit ever, and Adam would love it. It's peak entertainment to him. Even if it's just incoherent babbling, he'll have full-on conversations with this baby.
He'd definitely have some shared interests as the kid gets older. I think Adam's favorite shows/movies are a mix of action movies and shit like Power Rangers. He's not ashamed of it either—'fuck you, the Power Rangers are fuckin' cool.' This also goes for video games. I know that man is a toxic COD gamer boy and you can't prove me wrong. Basically, the only thing that keeps him from becoming one of those husbands that locks himself away in a man cave to play video games is the fact that he can game with his kid.
And once they get into school, he just gets really invested in the drama. Elementary school drama is such bullshit, and it'd be the best reality TV he's ever seen. "Oh, don't tell me—it's that bitch Cindy. The fuck did that little shit do this time?" He'd be gasping like it's a damn soap opera. 'Oh no she didn't!' kinda vibe.
He'd talk so much shit around his kid about the parents of their classmates, the teachers, anyone. Then the kid would repeat it and Adam would get sat down in the office with his kid like: "Your child said, and I quote, 'My dad says your mom's a bitch.'" "What? She fuckin' is." And yeah, he's not wrong - some of those parents are fucking nightmares.
If his kid got in trouble for fighting, his reaction would depend on the situation. If it was unprovoked and/or a part of bullying, he'd originally laugh it off but would be freaking the fuck out internally. He's probably a little traumatized by what happened with Cain and Abel. But if the fighting was an act of defense (whether of themselves or someone else) he would be the proudest dad ever. Fist-bumps his kid in the office in full view of the principal.
You cannot trust this man to give his kid the sex talk. It just will not go well. Like, if his kid needs advice when they're older (basically anything beyond 'where do babies come from') then he's your guy, but it's still gonna be awkward and uncomfortable. He'd probably have Lute handle most of those issues just so he doesn't have to know about his kid's sex life but can still trust that they have a responsible(?) adult if they have questions.
In terms of where Adam is lacking as a parent, there's a few areas in particular to focus on.
Emotional availability? Not his strong suit. At all. He can't deal with his own feelings, let alone his kid's. Most of the emotional support will be coming from his partner. That doesn't mean he doesn't try. But he can't show it with words all that well. He'll show emotional support in other ways—quality time, gifts, and acts of service for the most part. Like going out for ice cream, watching a movie, etc.
He's not good with discipline. To him, everything's no big deal. If his kid hasn't killed their sibling, that's good enough for him! Generally, his partner will choose when/how to discipline (with Adam's input ofc), but Adam's job is to just enforce it/not overrule it. He's 100% the type to be sneaky about it tho. If his kid is grounded, he'll go out with them to give them a break from being stuck in the house, y'know, stuff like that. Because of this, his kid forms a closer, different kind of bond than with Adam's partner. It's more friendly, I guess is the word? Like, his kid won't go to him for actual helpful advice, but if they fuck up somehow or are in a bad situation that they kinda got themselves into (drinking, car accident, etc.), then Adam is the parent they call.
I think Adam's peak parenting era would be when his kid is a late teen/young adult. 'Cause then he can actually be himself, for the most part. His personality is not very kid-friendly, so once his kid isn't really much of a kid anymore—he is so fucking excited. His relationship with his kid would be a lot more unconventional as they grow older. Like, he's really close with his kid once they're an adult. (totally not basing this off my relationship with my mom) His advice would be shit, but he'd give it if his kid needed it!
Definitely the type to text his kid more often than most parents. Mostly because he texts more like them and has the same sense of humor. Lots of shitty memes.
Also!! I think Adam would definitely make time for his partner. Date nights are a must. His kid better get comfortable with sleepovers at friends' houses or getting babysat by Emily 'cause he ain't letting parenthood fuck up his sex life.
I think that's all I got. Not sure how to end this so uh... shoutout to all you bitches with daddy issues lmao

Mashle friendship and dating scenarios (might be a bit ooc)
Friendship scenarios
Abel
He may not be showing any emotions but deep down he is actually grateful to have you by his side caring for him. He makes sure you are safe at all times by ordering his helpers to keep an eye on you if he’s busy. He might ignore you but he’ll find some free time to make it up to you.
Abyss
He was surprised when you want to befriend him AND complimenting his evil eye then that’s how your friendship began. I feel like he will smile around you more whenever he sees you. Please show him kindness and care he deserves it- He thinks he doesn’t deserve you so you better do it! He might visit your dorm just to spend time with you a while aww~
Mash
He will definitely offer you a cream puff as a gift for the start of your friendship. Congratulations! You are now one of his favourite people!! He will ask you to make cream puffs with him or maybe watch him train. You guys definitely share classes together and might witness him getting scolded by teachers while trying to hold in your laughter lol. He also asks you for help with homework-
Finn
Oh boy- he was so nervous when you approached him until you asked him to be friends. Lemme remind you: protect him at all costs and reassure him till you take your last breath or else. He’s an innocent bb and no one can change my mind. You guys study and do homework together or even hang out with Mash! He couldn’t be happier to have another friend aww~
Kaldo(manga)
Since he is a divine visionary, he’s mostly busy and couldn’t spend time with you. If you are also a divine visionary, you might see him a bit more unless you’re also busy. He could find some spare time to have tea with you if he can. It’s rare for him to accept your request to train with him though (he doesn’t want to hurt you). He would definitely give you honey or syrup for any kinds of food lol-
Domina(after the fight)
He was hesitant at first but decided to accept being your friend. You remind him of Mash thinking that he is finally being appreciated for real this time. When you help him out or give him little gifts just because you felt like it, he feels warmth and his eyes shine more than usual. He doesn’t know how to describe it but he feels happy when being friends with you.
Dating scenarios
Abel
Even though he seems to act like usual when dating but if you look close enough, he has a tiny smile and faint blush on his face. He’s more protective and will get jealous easily. Like if someone is looking at you pervertedly or with hatred, Abel will stare back at them with the deadliest glare ever. When he’s with you, he feels like he’s at home with his mother. You are precious to him so he will protect you at all costs. If you’re lucky enough, he might hold your hand in public to show everyone you’re his.
Abyss
Oh boy- he will be blushing quite a lot when he sees you. He couldn’t believe he has stolen your heart and you have stolen his. Aaaaaaa!!!! He might still feel a bit insecure but trust me- just hold his hand and give him a kiss on the cheek, he will instantly forgets about everything and focuses on you. Please give him support and affection I beg you- I feel like he would do anything just for you but sometimes you have to assure him that you can do your own thing just fine. He is definitely touch-starved bc of you and his cuddles are literal heaven omg- //////
Mash
He will definitely hug you when he feels like it. He doesn’t care if he’s chatting with his friends or you guys are alone, he will just straight up hug you to recharge lol. (Cream puffs ain’t gonna be enough when you’re his favourite cream puff- *cough*) If you need any help, he will assist you no questions asked. I think his eyes will shine a bit more than usual just being by your side. Find some time to spend with him and his dad, he will be very happy and his dad will be bawling his eyes out yet proud of Mash having a partner.
Finn
He did a double-check then realised that you are now his partner. He was internally crying happy tears, couldn’t believe you would actually accept his feelings, he was beyond cloud nine. When dating, he might feel insecure about people judging him but once you are next to him giving a little peck on his cheek, he will instantly have the brightest and most innocent smile on his face (aaaaaaa his smile would be so bright aaaaaa-) I swear- he IS and WILL BE blushing really red 24/7 no doubt.
Kaldo(manga)
My brain is running out of brain juice- I feel like when you confessed to him, he was actually surprised. The fact that you love him AND accepting his true self without any judgement, he hit the jackpot. He would be trying to find time to spend the day with you giving little pecks on the forehead. He would definitely be carrying your bags despite your protests (him being a fine gentleman ahem-) Although he’s very formal with other people but when you two are alone, he is desperate for your affection and attention. He always thinks about you when he’s on duty, he couldn’t wait to get his work done then spend the rest of the day with you //////
Domina(after the fight)
You helped him to get back on his feet with the help of Mash. He still didn’t understand why you helped him but he didn’t mind. When you confessed to him after a few months, he was flabbergasted. His face was pink, eyes widened and jaw dropped a bit. His heart beat so fast thinking if this was a dream. When you’re dating, he would be showing more emotions around you. If you look closely, his eyes are filled with adoration. Give him affection and love every day and he will be happier. Please he deserves it, he deserves to receive proper love too.
Ok- my soul has left the earth- (I added Domina bc I didn’t want him to be left out)
Hope you enjoyed!~

okay I know we all love romantic DreamxHobxYoung!Immortal!Reader, BUT I saw a tiktok recently that gave me an idea. the video said something like "immortal character taking in magical character who has been rejected by their family and community and becoming their parental figure"
maybe it's a situation similar to jjk, where geto adopted those 2 girls who were being abused by their village for being sorcerers.
they don't have to be an actual kid though, they could be older since they'd still be wayyy younger than dream and hob lol
just dream and hob taking in this person who's been rejected by everyone and taking care of them and stuff (platonic soulmates maybe?)
(I have like a whole story about this in my head, but it includes yet another fandom so I'll leave it at this😅🤭)
Oh my god my heart my baby heart loves this so much 🥹🥰 found family? I’m sold I’m here for it
You were ostracized by your community by a young age, you were gifted with an affinity for magic and labeled a menace. You drifted along by yourself for a while mostly surviving until you crossed paths with a gentleman with a kind smile. Hob instantly knew you were in need, you had this broken and almost feral look in your eyes. It reminded him of his time after his family died and his town believed him to be a witch.
After some coaxing, he brought you to the New Inn and gave you a warm meal. And since then you always found yourself there. Maybe at first you tried to stay away, believing you are a monster. Your magic was wild, chaotic, and impossible to control no matter the effort you put into learning it. However, you enjoyed Hob’s company and he made you feel safe. And eventually, you met Dream.
Maybe you never told Hob and Dream your secret and past, but one day while in the Dreaming your magic spills out. It nearly toppled over the castle, and you tried to flee afterwards. But, Dream and Hob found you in Fiddler’s Green. Tears streaming down your face, you blurted out everything. You told them what people called you, your eternal life doomed to be alone given your cursed magic, how -
Hob will immediately cut you off, “No one is cursed to be alone.”
Hob and Dream will pour into how they will not leave you, how you aren’t alone anymore, and how they will do everything they can to help you.
“The Dreaming can be your home, you are always welcomed here,” Dream will say.
And you will stay. You will stay because you love it here and everyone - Dream, Hob, Lucienne, Matthew, Marv, Cain and Abel, Goldie - are your family.
Now here’s some snippets I think would be lovely:
Dream and Hob trying to help you control your magic but results in them being knocked around (more so in the beginning)
Dream will be your biggest teacher and supporter when learning your magic and may find some artifacts to help control (maybe he’ll make you a ruby necklace to contain some of your magic)
Hob will share stories of his past both the good and the bad
If you want a normal life in the Waking, Hob will gladly let you work at the inn
If you have nightmares especially of your past, Dream will be there to comfort you and apologize not meaning to upset you
Once you can control your magic, you will excitedly show off to Dream and Hob and they are so happy and proud of you
Dream and Hob will see a new light in your eyes that makes their heart feel so at ease
Just Dream and Hob becoming your home and them uplifting you constantly

About Sam Winchester.
[This post has been edited after my discussion with @samjgirl , @sam-winchester-admiration-league and after @adaav 's comment to my post. I really want to thank them for their time and for pointing many interesting points out. I wasn't well informed about the techniques of storytelling and I believe I lost a bit of focus after season 11. Now I'm actually happier as I've started to even more appreciate this character, so win-win for me!]
The character of Sam Winchester was my biggest surprise and my biggest disappointment while watching Supernatural (but it's not his fault). [EDIT: while I still don't particularly like (for now) s12-15, I've realized that my disappoint was more due to my ignonorance of storytelling techniques rather than by the way the character was written]
It was my biggest surprise because I had never related to a fictional character this much before. I think you just have to both be the younger sibling of a dysfunctional nuclear family and be trauma-bonded to your elder sibling to get it. I won't go into further details about it because it's a whole essay, but I have to mention it because I need to state that I feel a deep connection to Sam. We both made the same choices, the same "mistakes", the same sacrifices.
So I was astonished when I started Supernatural because of the way it felt true and real. I don't know if the writers lived similar experiences and were therefore able to tell this story truthfully, but they nevertheless did a hell of a job in describing the unique bond of two siblings trying their best to navigate their traumas.
From season 1 to 8-9ish, we see Sam morphing from being the hero of the story to one of the two main characters. [EDIT: this is incorrect, Sam has always been the hero of the story. I think I felt like he was "shifting" into a slightly less prominent role because Dean, as supporting protagonist, was given more space in order to proceed with the filler episodes]Slowly but surely, Dean also becomes the hero and I think that was fair. [EDIT: see above, technically this is incorrect, sorry lol!]You can't fully narrate the story of a bond withouth fully integrate one part of it. I loved all the parallels to Michael/Lucifer and Cain/Abel. I thought they were brilliant. The show allowed me to go deep inside and start sorting out some stuff I've lived. It really made me think a lot.
It's fair to say that the brothers' codependency was the crux of their problem. It was painful to watch and sometimed downright awkward but the writers got it all right: the otherwise unxeplicable and toxic jealousy they felt for one another, the inability to share their deepest feelings in way other than fighting, and hell yes, even Sam's decision to run away and not look for his brother after season 7. It was not OOC, it's exactly what he did when he was 18 and what John did as well 4 years after that. As a matter of fact, Sam is more similar to John than Dean could ever be.
It's definitely been a long journey but I find that the resolution of their codependency (in season ELEVEN!) was cleverly thought-out and brilliantly executed. It couldn't have happened before, the two bothers must have been either already in or close to their 30s to confront the knot, to acknwoledge the grip the trauma they've lived had on their life. Sometimes getting older does help and give you perspective. This might be why (as I've stated here) season 11 is my favourite one: it gives a sense of closure and hope.
However, here comes the biggest disappointment part. [EDIT: this is due to the fact that in part, I didn't fully get it]
After season 11 Sam morphs from one of the two main characters to a side character. [EDIT: incorrect, as per previous EDIT, Sam is always the hero and lead protagonist]The show must be about the brothers' bond and I'm okay with that. However, it looks like after season 11 the writers couldn't come up with new ideas to talk about this kind of bond. It felt like, other than co-dependency, the bond didn't have much to say. Therefore, both Sam and Dean almost go back to square one while they had all the possibilities to explore a new aspect of their relationship.
What could've been this new aspect? Easy: making them realize that the family they each wanted was, simply, different. This is just my opinion on the subject and how I've felt about season 12-15 so it's okay if you disagree. [EDIT: well, this is still my opinion, although it has nothing to do with Sam's narrative role in the story and more about my personal preference, so I think this is where I got confused]
In my opinion, from season 12 Sam is just a part of Dean's family. It's not "Sam&Dean"'s family. It's just Dean's. And I think the writers could've explored that in a more meaningful way. Let me explain: let's take Cas since he makes the perfect example for this scenario. Dean has repeatedly included Cas in the "family", he's called him not just his brother but "our brother". He includes Sam in the equation but I personally don't think Sam feels the same way. Sure, Sam cares for Cas and thinks he's family, but I think his idea of family is "Cas is my brother's husbandbest friend and therefore he's part of the family". He's extended family, kind of. [EDIT: this is still just my opinion and has nothing to do with Sam's narrative role. Although "family" is one of the themes of the show, it was not the only one]
My opinion is canonically backed because, aside from Rowena, all the members of the Winchesters Found Family are part of the family because Dean has allowed them, Dean has a deeper relatioship to them and ultimately because Dean decides who can enter the circle. This is totally in character and I love Dean for his ability to care and form deep bonds. [EDIT: this was also needed for Dean as a character because he's not the lead protagonist so he had to have something else in the story that was not necessarily connected to the mytharc]
However, this is not in Sam's character: Sam is the one who runs away, the one who wants to create his own family, the one who really needs to emancipate himself from his older brother. I truly wished the writers explored his passivity in "accepting" the status quo and made him, if not rebel, at least express his wants.
It would have been a moment in Sam's growth if he could've just, instead of running away, confronted his brother and stated that his desires were different, that he was part of Dean's family but it was not his family. Instead, we only have glimpes of what Sam really feels: he doesn't think of the bunker as his home, he doesn't ever say that he has a family (not surprisingly it's Dean that in "Lebanon" tells John "I have a family" and not Sam), he doesn't really have any other meaningful relationship aside from his brother.
Supernatural ending did him dirty, too. Not just for the awful wig and make-up but because the ending framed Sam as a two-dimensional character: "freed" from his brother and his brother's family, he finds a blurry wife, a dog, a son, a white picket fence. How sad is that? We never get to see Sam really connecting with anyone: all (and by all I really mean ALL) the women in his life, from his mother to one-night-stands while on the road passing through Ruby, end up dead (RIP Sarah Blake). Of course his wife at the end had to be a blurry figure in the backfround (she was not even besides him on his deathbed!): she was a testament to all of his past relationships. Like, seriously, apart from Dean, the ONLY lasting relationship Sam has throughout the whole series is with LUCIFER and this alone, I think, speaks volume. [EDIT: again this just relates to the fact that I'm not particularly fond of s12-15 and of the overall ending. Technically speaking, the ending makes sense. Whether I liked it or not is another issue]
In conclusion, after season 11 Sam is no longer an interesting character because the writers both downright refused to give him another substantial character to interact with and insisted once again on his codependency with Dean (which was already resolved). [EDIT, tbh it was a weak ending to begin with, LOL, I didn't like it even after I wrote it hahahhaa, but yeah, as this whole post proves Sam Winchester is far from being an uninteresting character because I just spent a frigging afternoon learning new things thanks to him so I guess he's like the gift that keeps on giving!]
Having said that, in my heart of hearts, Sam Winchester will always have a special place because I get him, I really do.

Oh we are so BACK
When I tell you I saw this and died. HELLO?????
I keep hiding my face lahshjsdhjgfsaf HE HAS NO RIGHT. NO RIGHT AT ALL BEING THAT SEXILY INTENSE AAAAAAAAAAA
Anyway, I should probably try to make some attempt at describing the event since. If I don't I'll just be barking/crying/hiding my face for the next twelve hours.
Basically--and I'm not sure this is going to be across the board, but it held true for Napoleon and Sebastian at least--each suitor has a birthday event this year instead of a separate story. Comte's won't be released until tomorrow, but they have posted a preview.
From what I gather, he talks a little bit about himself and reveals parts of his past that haven't come to light in the game yet. There wasn't really enough to convey a coherent narrative beyond attending a party, but the line displayed here does get across the larger theme:
Comte: (I don't need momentary pleasure or ephemeral affection any longer. Now that I know love, there's nothing but you.)
He talks about how the aristocracy have thrown parties and extravagant celebrations for his birthday for most of his life. But none of it has ever really made him happy, largely because he knows that they are attempts to strengthen and broadcast power relations within high society. While I don't think he means it's entirely devoid of well wishes, I do think he sees it as a nexus of influence--and thus, by nature, impersonal. And honestly, I don't think he's wrong about that; the higher the echelon in social standing, the more it requires performance to maintain the position.
That being said, there is a fascinating flashback where he remembers a pureblood telling him about how falling in love with a human is an experience of another caliber entirely. My understanding is that Comte was still a fairly young vampire at the time, so he didn't really understand what the person was getting at. It seems like the other pureblood was trying to convey the difference in feeling, perhaps the fact that humans are more grounded in accordance with how they live--the reality and necessity of change.
After reading this--and the recent 5th bday story--I can absolutely see how change is something Comte has a complicated relationship with. He's known a certain way of life for so long, has constructed a sensibility of distant, rational maturity. After all the heartbreak of his youth, and two very acute traumatic events in his life, I can see why he'd be so afraid of broaching any kind of proximity with another person. Because on some level it's so much easier not to put your feelings on the line, to never have to fear devastating loss. And that's to say nothing of the worry of being unable to measure up on behalf of another person, of letting them down.
I'm so excited to see the rest of the contents, but something about the preview made me equal parts giddy and enamored (all I do is kick my feet with excitement LOL). I think what gets to me with Comte is that he truly does love companionship as a place to rest, a place where he can be honest about himself and his feelings without fear of ridicule (and the same goes for MC). In a world increasingly obsessed with surface level performances of power, status, and emotion, it's hard not to feel his exhaustion to the core.
Also, because these lines at the end more or less destroyed me in the best possible way:
MC: ...The you who had nowhere to belong no longer exists. In much the same way...Abel, I belong to you. Comte: ... Comte: I wish I could say to myself all those years ago, the me who kept indulging in such paltry things. Comte: Until you meet MC, you will never know love... The warmth of MC in my arms filled me with such joy I was near tears. (I don't need momentary pleasure or ephemeral affection any longer. Now that I know love, there's nothing but you.) The moment my lips found hers, the sweetness lit a fire deep in my body. Comte: These cute lips that melt against mine, the heat of your skin, the love that envelops me in your embrace--always leaves me so deeply in love with you.

heyyy you can do a guitarspear short in the garden of eden (where maybe, if you want, Lute will be a curious angel about the new creation/Adam lol)
Here we go! Hopefully it was worth the wait, I had a lot of fun writing this :)
Alone sat a man, alone for the second time, while his wife had been condemned for her sins he wasn't, she was banished and he wasn't. He wouldn't be alone if his kids were awake but the late night silence was better than their cries about where their mother went. He blamed Lucifer for what happened to Eve, not her, she was just listening to a man and that's what she had been taught, if only Lilith learned that, maybe she wouldn't have chosen Lucifer over him, she was too difficult for him. He likes to think he's the one who wanted that to end, not her. The lake he sat by in the grass reflected the moon and he cupped some of the water to his mouth to drink, drinking away your sorrows hadn't been invented yet but he'd try.
He was interrupted by the sight of an angel slowly flying down to him, he wanted to be annoyed but she was kind of hot in his opinion. Long light silver hair, golden eyes with thick lashes, a flowy dress of black and white patterns and matching black and white wings large enough to support her. She landed in front of him and took a seat next to him in the grass, quiet for a minute, like she was thinking of what to say. "I'm sorry about what happened to Eve" she finally said. He sighed, "Geez does all of heaven know? I must look like some fucking loser." She tilted her head "What does fucking mean?"
Adam snickered running a hand through his hair "Oh right, I made it up, it's like something you add before a word to make it sound cooler, what do you think?" He looked at her for approval, he'd always assumed angels would be bigger until he saw Lucifer and now her, she's tiny. The angel thought about it before offering an awkward snicker in return "I like it, maybe I'll use it" He offered a high-five with an enthusiastic: "Hell yeah!" But she wasn't sure what to do so he took her hand and make it tap his for her then let go, it fell back at her side. "So what's your name?"
"I don't have a name" Adam's eyes widened in offense for her "That's lame, what about I give you one?" She smiled and nodded. Adam took her in again, what words come to mind? The animal names were made up, she should get something that doesn't exist yet. "Lulu.. no that's dumb. Light. Already exist." He tapped his head before snapping his fingers, "Lute!" Her eyes lit up, to have the person she's been watching from afar give her this gift was a warm feeling. "I like it"
"Well, it's nice to meet you Lute" "Nice to meet you too, Adam, I always wanted to but it didn't feel like the right time." He tilts his head, "What do you mean?" Lute sighed "As an angel the only way I can access this world is if a soul needs me, I jumped at the chance" "I guess that makes sense, but does that mean you can't visit unless I'm sad?"
Lute paused before answering, "I can sneak out" The human was kind of impressed, "Risky, I like it" Before their chat can continue a small pair of hands tapped Adam's shoulder lightly but several times. He looked down to see Abel, not very old yet. "Hey buddy, what you doing up?" Abel sat beside his father and pointed to Lute "Who's the pretty lady daddy? Is she our new mommy?" Lute blushed embarrassed and shook her head "No no, I'm just an angel-"
Abel stumbled over and snuggled up to her wing "You're like a birdy" Adam picked up his son "Hey you can't go getting all handsy with the ladies unless they're into it" Abel nodded and Lute stood. "I'm sorry to cut this short but I really should be heading back, I have a lot of responsibility up there" Adam looked at Abel and joked "See? Look what you did" Abel just immediately started crying"Wait fuck- I was joking!" He bounced him panicking, Eve was so much better at this parenting thing than he was.
Lute didn't judge, she'd have no idea what to do with a tiny human either. She waved goodbye and so did Adam. Her wings spread and she went back up, he was looking forward to seeing her again, it was the first time he'd felt happy in a while. Okay back to the crying baby, he just kept shaking up and down like a protein drink "Hush little baby don't say a word-" awkward singing ensues.
The two continued their meetings until eventually Adam's death came, Lute watched from behind the gates to welcome him as he was let him in. She took in his new appearance, golden wings and a considerable height boost. "I can show you around" She suggested but he was just excited to see her and lifted her with ease, crushing her against his chest. "Lute! This is great, now we can hang out all we want!" The other angel blushed being so close and tried to shove away, wings flapping rapidly. "Yeah- great- you can put me down now."
Adam nods and sits her down "Oops sorry" He laughed as she fixed her hair. Their conversation was interrupted again by something mirroring their first, it was Abel. "You look so majestic father! I missed you" Adam ran over and ruffled his brown hair, it matched his own. "Not too bad yourself, look at those wings!" Lute watched them with a small smile, it was sweet to see the reunion Abel always talked about, she never filled the mother role in his life, but she did let him ask about his father, she'd never complain to talk about him.

What was the most romantic scene in Hannibal for you?
Tumblr media
The end sequence of Antipasto, hands down. Just everything about it. It makes me tear up every time.
The way Hannibal, heartbroken at Bedelia's rejection and betrayal, sits alone on the train en route to Palermo with Antony Dimmond's corpse in his trunk, recalling his last dinner with Abel Gideon while Ravel's Pavane plays.
The way even Gideon, who was always the Ripper's biggest fan, now finds Hannibal banal and tiresome, calling him pathetic and lonely to his face. The way Hannibal is disgusted by Gideon's poor manners, but puts up with him because he's that desperate for connection.
HANNIBAL: Why do you think I'm allowing this? GIDEON: Snails aren't the only creatures who prefer eating with company. If only that company could be Will Graham.
The way Hannibal is speechless at that. Not only does Gideon call out his obsession with Will, but he compares Hannibal, Mr. Firefly himself, to a snail. That's what Will's reduced him to.
Side note: LOVE how Gideon becomes a prophetic figure as he approaches death, "becoming brighter" as Hannibal puts it. Remember, this exchange takes place before S2b, sometime between Futamono and Yakimono.
Gideon can see how Hannibal longs for the kind of cannibal date night Will gives him at the end of Naka Choko, but refuses, out of sheer pettiness, to be his perfect dinner partner, snarfing down those snails with the utmost incivility. Love him. <3
"I'm just fascinated to know how you will feel when all this... happens to you." <- referencing how Mason will try to eat Hannibal, but on a deeper level how Hannibal's heart will be eaten as in the first sonnet of Dante's La Vita Nuova (which he quotes earlier in the episode):
Joyous love seemed to me, the while he held My heart within his hands, and in his arms My lady lay asleep wrapped in a veil. He woke her then. Trembling and obedient, She ate that burning heart out of his hand; Weeping I saw him then depart from me.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The way Hannibal looks SO SAD as he folds the Vitruvian Man into an origami heart, obviously still thinking about La Vita Nuova and how Will's eaten his heart. The way he extends the heart metaphor into the Three of Swords tarot presentation in the Norman Chapel to signify betrayal. The way the soundtrack swells with violins and the solemn heartbeat of a drum over beautiful close ups of Dimmond's skinned carcass.
Side note 2: I have searched high and low for the track that plays during the Vitruvian Man folding, but it doesn't seem to have been published anywhere. Tunefind says that it was adapted from Hayley Westenra's Never Say Goodbye (which is sooo romantic lol), but it doesn't sound anything like that song to me.
Finally, this is the most insight we, the audience, get into the conception of any Ripper tableau and it's a valentine for Will. Oughhhh. I'm going to cry just thinking about it.
[The Naka Choko dinner scene is a close second tho! The audacity they had to score it with Mahler's Adagietto... And the end of TWOTL would be my third pick.]

Abel may not be a fatal Yandere, but that doesn’t make him any less dangerous.
It's unlikely that you would know him in the first place. Despite his striking appearance, he's never been the kind of person to socialize, much less make friends. You wouldn't remember how you met him, but he would remember how he met you.
You were walking across the street during a busy day, talking to whoever was on your phone. You blended easily into the crowd. The moment was anything but memorable, much less extraordinary. But it was just that for him.
You wouldn't even realize he had been following you until weeks later. You were returning from work when suddenly you felt large hands grabbing you from behind, and then everything went dark.
Your life after that was simple. Wake up in his countryside estate, do the housework, garden, sew, and cook until he returns. The home had to be completely spotless from top to bottom, or you would be punished.
Every single thing that you do from dawn to dusk must be perfect. Even the smallest speck of dusk, the tiniest malfeasance, was justification for him to drag you to the cellar by your hair.
There you would remain, naked and freezing, until he decided you truly understood the mistake you had made. To earn his respect, not only as a partner but as a person, you must be perfect.
Sometimes it's easy to believe that he doesn't love you.  Which is true, to an extent, as he's very forceful in his shaping of you. But... he does love you. Yes, he chose you because of your potential, but he still loves the things that make you...  you. Even if he never acts on that love.
Your relationship will be rather dry. He is not particularly violent, nor is he particularly attracted or affectionate towards you. Abel wants you to be his partner in life before he wants you to be a romantic partner.
Despite his unreasonably high standards for you, he'd be a pretty placid Yandere. He doesn't have a violent temper, and he does care for you genuinely. His ways of showing that are just... horrible.
Sweden
Berwald is a... surprising Yandere, to say the least. He's very hard to predict, and understanding him is a task fit for nobody
You two were friends, neither close nor distant, when he fell in love. There would've been no way for you to know this, of course, considering how he barely acted like he liked you in the first place.
The way you found out was no more comforting. You were awoken in the middle of the night to find a handcuff around your wrist, tying you to your bed frame. And when you looked over, you were met with the daunting and unreadable face of Berwald.
Then, he explained what was going to happen. You were going to marry him, and you two would begin living together. No questions, no consideration of your own feelings, only... a statement. Then, he released you.
You tried to go to the police, only to receive absolutely no help. Seems like he had known you'd do that, and had prepared beforehand accordingly. By the time you returned to your home, your things were already gone and shipped to his home.
But once you accept your fate, Berwald is not very controlling. Yes, he expects you to love him and live with him, but whatever you want to do outside of that is totally fine with him. He's not overly paranoid, and can't seem to get upset with you over anything.
You're a free person, as long as you don't try to break up with him. Then, he may begin locking you in the house more often.
He's not very affectionate, but he loves spending time with you. Your voice is like music to his ears, and he can't get enough of hearing you talk. He loves every single part of you. He loves you so much that sometimes you worry you're the one manipulating him!
But when you bring up that concern, he won't dissuade you. It's better for him to be the victim in your eyes anyway. Maybe then you won't even think of another man, wracked with guilt over your actions... yes, that'd be perfect.
Denmark
Mathias is a deceptive Yandere.
When you two are originally friends, you wonder if he could ever hurt anyone on purpose. But when he drags you kicking and screaming home after your latest escape attempt, you wonder if he could ever truly love anyone.
He's methodical about his Yandere tendencies. He isn't impatient or harsh, he makes you love him before he finally takes you home. By the time you're chained up in one of his spare rooms, he's made sure absolutely nobody would ever wonder where you went.
Your relationship is nothing more than a game to him. Yes, he loves you, but not as a boyfriend should. He loves your desperation, your weakness... there's nothing more fun to him than forcing you into more and more pathetic states.
He loves building you up just to tear you down. Somedays, he wakes you up with a kiss on your forehead and breakfast in bed. Other days, you're woken up by him picking you up out of bed and throwing you to the floor.
Mathias has quite a temper too. It doesn't come out quite often, but when it does, you're the target of all of his pent-up anger.
It's hard to tell if he's aware of his horrible thoughts. Sometimes, he acts like he doesn't realize he's hurting you. But other times, he's clearly torturing you on purpose.
Either way, you'll quickly learn it's better to just not cross him. Even when he's smiling, you never know when that facade could drop. Especially in front of his family, you've learned how to pretend everything's alright.
And if you truly escaped... you have no idea what he would do. That's almost a scarier thought than the reality of staying with Mathias.

Babel is a book that came highly recommend to me from people I trust, and honestly I can see why. On it's surface, it should've been something I was really into - a book about anti-imperialism set against the backdrop of the Opium Wars while also being about etymology and the inherent imperfections of translating between two languages. Hell it even quotes Frantz Fanon at one point.
And yet.
I've been thinking about it a lot recently, and I think I've come to some conclusions of the things about it that really rubbed me the wrong way - major spoilers for the whole book follow.
Fundamentally, it comes down to one word: class. I think RF Kuang has a massive blindspot around class and classism, and it seeped through in this book in a way that I found quite aggravating.
I'll start by saying that the only working class characters that I can remember are Professor Lovell's housekeeper Mrs Piper, and the northern strikers. And kind of Griffin.
Mrs Piper is basically shown as a stereotypical loving, kindly housekeeper. She's Scottish and makes scones for Robin! That's...about all there is to her character, aside from one particular thing that sticks out to me - there's a bit early on where Robin gets beaten by Lovell for hyperfocusing and missing the start of his lesson, and Mrs Piper gets judged (not by Robin mind, by the book) for not acknowledging anything was wrong:
Some other child suited to better, kinder treatment might have realised that such nonchalance on the part of adults like Mrs Piper [...] to a badly bruised eleven-year-old was frightfully wrong
Now ignoring that this is a book set in 1830s Britain where this would have been a common occurrance anyway (yes it still would've been wrong back then but given the cultural context I don't think there were many other children "suited to a better, kinder treatment"), what grates me about this is that there's absolutely no interrogation of why she might not want to speak out about it. Her job is as a housekeeper. Presumably she is reliant on this job to survive. If she spoke out about this, chances are she'd both lose this job and potentially any future housekeeping jobs. And like, it's not a huge thing, but it's an early sign that the approach to class is at best, lacking.
So then we come to the northern strikers. First introduced as a rowdy, scary crowd - fine, it's from Robin's perspective and he's had a very bourgeois, sheltered upbringing after being picked up by Professor Lovell. They come back later, now on Robin's side, to act as. Uh. A barricade. Only one of them, Abel Goodfellow (lol) is the only one who gets any particuar characterisation, the rest are just a faceless crowd of people who the book doesn't seem to have any real interest in. The only reason they exist is to give the Oxford students and professors an extra layer of protection so none of the actual characters are in any sort of risk for a few chapters.[1]
Which brings me to one of my biggest issues. This whole book has been leading up to this "revolution" - but the revolution is a bunch of academics hiding in the big Colonialism Tower, while a bunch of proles are the ones who actually put themselves at risk. They are basically treated as cannon fodder to protect the brave academics, but then end up getting cold feet when it seems like they might be in some actual danger.
What the fuck.
What puts an even bigger point on this is knowing, throughout the entire book, that RF Kuang herself went to Oxford and pulled from her experiences. While this makes her exploration of the racism in the upper echelons of British society very real and is a legitimately good critique, it also makes the way she approaches the working class in this book feel extremely patronising - made worse by my recent discovery of just how bourgeois the rest of her background is (she went to a Greenhill School where each year costs upwards of $30k, Georgetown University which has a dispropotionately high ratio of students from wealthy families, studied at both Oxbrige unis, and finally an Ivy League uni in Yale.)
And I get it, I'm white, that is absolutely a privilege I have that she does not. I would never deny that, and I never want to talk over people who have experienced racism. But also, class-based oppression is very fucking real. So to have a literal Oxbridge scholar write a book decrying British imperialism and colonialism, criticising Oxford for being a racist driver of these things, while simultaneously glorifying the glamourous aspects of the institution [2] and just glossing over the intensity of classism in British society is, quite frankly, fucking galling.
Oh also, if you want me to be sympathetic to a character, maybe don't make them the fucking prince to another empire??? Utterly bizarre choice.
[1] As an aside, this section is another good example of her blindness towards class:
Despite all expectations, Abel's supporters grew in number over the following days. The workmen strikers were better at getting the message out than any of Robin's pamphlets. They spoke the same lanugage, after all. The British could identify with Abel in a way they could not with foreign-born translators.
The implication I get from this is that because they're foreign academics, those stupid, racist proles ignored them, but like. There is a long, storied history of solidarity across racial lines among the British working classes - admittedly my knowledge of this history doesn't go back as far as when this would have been taking place, but either way, the fact it's not mentioned that the British working class would see them primarily as Oxford toffs just seems like such a weird thing to skip over.
[2] Honestly my issue with all the anachronistic things like the oysters isn't that it's anachonistic but that it comes across as bragging about all the special things she got to experience at Oxford

Skye your Fire and Water story was fantastic! Loved it! It did leave me wondering something though.
In your Abel stories like BotS, CotD, and BotH, did Abel and Tilieth get the chance to meet the queen of the Domain, or did she die prior to Abel visiting the Domain? If they did meet her, did it have an impact on how they engaged with Mipha, like Tilieth trying to give her maternal support when she could, but also trying not to cross too many boundaries?
I’m so happy you liked it! :D Your tags made me smile, and the one about Abel HAHAHA I LOVED IT 🤣🤣🤣 “maybe if I keep my eyes shut they’ll leave the area—nope they’re still going ok let’s end this” OAIASBROFI LOL that was basically his thought process, “I’m just gonna pretend to sleep and respect their privacy and they’ll work it out and OH MY GODDESS THIS IS SO PAINFUL JUST—THATS IT IM INTERFERING”
Tilieth never met the Zora Queen—I’m kind of debating whether she’s ever met Dorephan, to be honest. She never had a chance to travel all that much - I doubt it’s something many normal people did in that time, and especially going to the Domain. Perhaps Abel took her there once when he had the time, or a short assignment there, because he knows she loves to explore. Abel met Mipha’s mother but never got too close to her - Dorephan’s wife did not trust Hylians as much as her husband did. But Abel saw her plenty of times due to the mission he had - in Chrinicles of the Domain, Dorephan’s mother died, leaving him to ascend the throne, and since he was more open to Hylian relations, Zelda’s mom put that mission together. So the story takes place during that point.
In BotW canon, I doubt Til ever had a reason to get acquainted to the Zora royals. The game implies that Link and Mipha’s relationship was serious enough to merit an engagement gift, so Til must have met Mipha at least a couple times - I imagine Link probably brought her to Hateno. But as for getting to know Mipha’s parents, it’s unlikely.
In Age of Calamity, Til & Abel are considered family to the Zora royals once Link and Mipha get engaged, and Til loves visiting the Domain and she mothers Mipha to death ❤️

Could we possibly see more of that Some Kind of Roleswap AU? Possibly more on Divine Visionary Wirth and lil bro Orter? I absolutely adore the concept so much, and I love how it looks like despite Wirth's annoyances with Orter's lack of proper communication he still cares for him. I'm also curious on what Wirth's role is if he has a new one or he fills the same position as OG Orter does
yes! wirth is actually a good older brother (unlike orter lmaoo), he knows that orter has trouble communicating with him, and as annoyed as he is, he still loves his little brother very much <3 as for wirth's role, I would imagine that he'd probably help mash (who, for the sake of convenience, does not change roles in this role swap LOL)
He'd tell mash it's because he still has some value to him, but actually he's just nice 💀
The antagonistic role would go to someone else...(no i do not know who else could pull off being an asshole as amazingly as orter but im sure there's someone on the cast that can do it. i didn't think this far idk maybe abel)

Okay I need you to bare with me for this one cause I haven't actually played dbh, I've watched some edits and that was enough for my brain to apparently come up with some thoughts.
What about Caregiver!Hank with Regressor!Connor find out that Amanda? (I think that's her name) Made more versions of Connor that physically can't regress because angst.
I really hope this made even a little bit of sense lol
-🚁
OH THAT IS ANGSTY
Lemme know if I'm interpreting this wrong, but like
Connor not being able to regress because Amanda tells him in his head that it's bad. She's always been his guidance, his mentor, his support. He likes her, he does, but he's terrified of doing something wrong so he doesn't regress at all... He can't, she's blocking something in his program. His fear stopping him even more.
Hank had let him move in post android revolution. He gave Connor a safe space, and everything he needed. Who was he to judge him for needing to calm down in an unconventional way? Better than booze, for sure.
The more he learned, the more he was with Connor when he regressed. He had experience with kids, and it was really no different. But seeing Connor not Abel to regress and mumbling something about Amanda, it hurt. He didn't want him to hurt like that- so he took the problem into his own hands. Literally. He plopped Connor into his lap after lifting him from the floor. He sat on the bed and held him close.
They talked. About Amanda, about his fears, about how he only wants to be good- and fuck, Hank understood that. All the reassurance in the world wouldn't fix his programming, but he could be there for him when it fucked him over.
all the models after him have the same problem if and when they discover regression.
It's Sixty that deals with it first (Cyberlife tower Connor). He's working with Allen (swat captain in the rooftop scene), Allen knows. They're close friends, very close- off work there's hugs, occasional kisses. But they just like each other's company after Allen learned that Sixty wasn't a threat.
And he's trying desperately to regress one night. He's done everything, even had Allen help! He took a bath that he didn't need, he got cozy in his safety corner with all his studies and a little tent. But still, he couldn't.
Amanda in his head, even after deviation. He didn't get the slow deviation like Connor, no safety exit- she was there in his head all the time. Telling him how to do everything. And sometimes he was grateful, but others?? No. Not when it came to comfort. He wasn't allowed comfort by her standards.
It pissed him off not being able to relax. A wet kind of anger, the kind that made him tear up and shout wordlessly at nothing in particular. He just couldn't regress like he needed.

Realized i made a mistake with my eve post cuz despite my complaints that she will be made into a one note female character...i kind of had the same one note predictions of her on my mind so lets rewrite that!
HH Eve would prolly hate the sinners though not to the degree of desiring to slaughter them like adam.
no its the kinda hate u choose to have fr someone so u wont think how ur actions were similar to them if thats makes sense lol.
& u know how how theres this misogynistic believe that it was entirely eves fault that humanity was doomed to live on earth? Yeah she would try to distance herself from her past & only be presented as the peak image of the pious winner in heaven.
BUT dont mention cain or what happened to abel in her presense
Though if it was up to me i would make eves arc abt her facade crumbling when she hears a sinner, sir pentious, was accepted to heaven,& itll further tears down when shell discover that lilith was just chilling in heaven fr 7 yrs.
this revelation will be shocking not only becuz why tf adam made a deal w/ his first wife but also how seemingly easy that a demon could enter heaven.
& that will shake eve worlds becuz what if this means that all this time,a certain son of hers could have been forgiven & enter paradise but the fucking incompetant angels had never entertained the idea?they just let her think all these centuries that he & other hell sinnera were a lost cause??😨😓
yeah eve gonna have a few words w/ sera abt that
