Only I would get diagnosed with a hamstring tear and feel smug about it

#i’ve been saying this whole time it’s the tendon. it’s the tendon. all along the back of my knee there’s pain and it’s because of the tendon #but did anyone listen to me? NO #i could’ve kissed the doctor. i was like THANK YOU for diagnosing me with two sprains at the same time #I TOLD YOU PEOPLE I HAD A COMPLEX INJURY AND THAT WAS WHY IT WAS TAKING SO LONG TO HEAL #but did anyone listen??? NO #she also thinks i have joint hypermobility. i’m in love with her #my family members were all like waah waaaah a knee sprain shouldn’t take this long to heal #you’ve got cartilage stuck behind it; you need surgery #NO THE FUCK I DON’T #i had TWO sprains at the same time. my patella said ‘i think i’m going to go over there’ and my MCL and hamstring both said ‘FUUUUUUCK’#to clarify.. i’m not happy but i AM smug because now i know that 1) nothing is structurally wrong in my knee #(apart from that my patella sometimes likes to bugger off) and therefore I DON’T FUCKING NEED SURGERY #and 2) going to the hospital literally wouldn’t have helped me. it would never have changed my recovery time #i just would’ve known from the beginning that i’d be looking at months rather than weeks #knee sprain is 2 weeks. HAMSTRING TEAR?????? could be another 4 weeks on top of the 4 i’ve already experienced #anyway so ya girl is going to be x-rayed to make sure i don’t also have a cartilage injury (lol) and my patella is in fact #where it’s supposed to be. and they also want me to see physio. which i’m going to do #i don’t want anybody to fucking tell me i don’t know my body ever again. i TOLD you people it was the tendon and did anybody listen???? no #well anyway i’m going to have a fish finger sandwich and then i need to dust the house #because unfortunately my treatment plan involves exercise. goodbye cruel world #at least i’m allowed to take as many painkillers as i want. well i think that was what she said. that’s what i heard anyway #personal

My Watching Over Kids Hot Take a lot of kids just want someone to talk to them calmly without telling them what to feel. Or maybe they just want to talk and have someone listen

A kid at church today was sulking under a table blocked off by chairs that he couldn't get to play with this Optimus prime toy they had in a cabinet and when I asked him if he was willing to wait for it after the service or if maybe he had some toys at home he said he didn't and church was the only place he could play with one, and Optimus prime is his favorite character ever. I told him we couldn't let him play with it now, but if he was willing to wait until later when there were fewer kids he could take it for a spin. He was still sitting under the table but he wasn't frowning anymore. He told me about dinosaurs. His favorite is the allosaurus. He came out from under the table for a second just to mimic its roar. I said yooo that's sick my favorite is the pterodactyl. I mimed a screech (my dinosaur knowledge is very limited, alas). He crawled out from under the table and started clawing at the air, doing his best impression of a dinosaur. It was very cute. I think he likes dinosaurs almost as much as he likes Optimus prime. Then he ran off to play with the other kids

The few snippets of dialogue I've seen from from Hermes in Hades 2 really reaffirms a core part of whatever his relationship is to Charon to me: Hermes is extremely invested in making sure Charon has someone to talk to.

Please say hi to him. Please make sure he's doing okay. Please look out for him. Someone needs to be checking in on Charon and be there for Charon when Hermes can't be.

Maybe it's because he recognizes Charon is a loner and doesn't have people who worry about him. Maybe its because he knows Charon has a hard time communicating. Maybe its because Charon is a workaholic and will put the people he cares about before himself. Maybe he just really fucking likes Charon.

Probably all of these. But I had that assumption in the first game, and I'm glad its canonized (or so it seems) in second. Hermes worries about his big skull faced man's mental and social well-being so much that he's asking the children of Hades to take some time out of their big important 'find my mom/dad' quests to make sure boatmen aren't too lonely without they speedy chatty birds.

related to recent posting but the number of podcast networks that have ad-free versions available exclusively through apple podcasts makes me crazy. if i did not have an ipad the option to give them money to not listen to ads for the state of ohio would not exist for me. i am not allowed to give them money without apple getting a cut. that's fucking bonkers.

Like....these two characters are like explicitly made for Yuu in 2 completely opposite ways DO U SEE MY VISION....it's peak.

Absolutely peak!!!!! Malleus is attached because you're one of the very few who see past his princely title and "intimidating" aura all to befriend him as he is: a fellow student. You even get to call him a cute nickname! Malleus cherishes this friendship. And then there's Rollo, who sympathizes with your plight because he dislikes magic and here you are, trapped in a magical world and you can't use magic yourself. You are one of the good ones in his eyes, pure and untainted by its influence. <3 but also I think he'd be more inclined to look out for you because he doesn't want you succumbing to the same fate his brother did. Magic is dangerous, after all. You've seen firsthand just how bad it can be (overblots, for example).

They really are made for Yuu........ in my delusional heart, those moments where Rollo addresses the player specifically during Glomas,,,, those are scenes in which your answer could either raise or deplete his affection meter hehe. >w< and the fact that Rollo was the one to predict the book seven catastrophe. Why didn't we listen to him!!!! T_T he was genuinely cooking with that theory.
