tbh a while ago i kept seeing two types of posts:

"bi women should be able to have relationships w men without being disparaged for it" and "wtf are you talking about, literally the entire world already prioritizes heterosexual relationships"

and it took me a long time to grasp why i agreed w/ the first part, and why the second one also seemed like a good point at first glance. i realized theyre addressing different things; the first sentence is spoken within the queer community, the second is generalizing the message, making it seem insane. why would anyone complain about being treated badly within a minor subculture, when that same thing makes them privileged outside of it?

but thats the thing. subcultures can have a wildly different social structure, etiquette, and standards of behavior, from larger society. you can be accepted or rejected for things that would make no sense otherwise. and as anyone who has been part of an intense and toxic subculture knows, rejection within that group can be utterly devastating to a persons wellbeing.

thats where the specifics of being a bi woman come in. bisexual women often experience rejection in both places for opposite reasons, and the rejection within LGBT spaces can hurt even more, because those were supposed to be safe spaces where they don't have to experience discrimination for their sexuality, but instead, they get rejected again. and when they seek validation, or criticize the biphobia within those spaces, they get slapped in the face with ridicule, guilt tripping, accusations and further rejection.

it's not suddenly acceptable to be an asshole because the greater homophobic society erases the validity of a bisexual woman's same-sex attraction, which for some reason is seen as privilege in which the woman should revel and rejoice.

i think its reasonable to sometimes remind people that the club rules arent necessarily applicable to the outside world, but pretending that communities cant be extremely important and influental to their members is just willful ignorance tbh.

I've been into scene and emo music and fashion since I was very young and I'm currently 22 years old and let me just say that me and my friend who was scene growing up would have been listening to 6arelyhuman's music.

(While scene music is made up of crunkcore, electronicore, metalcore and pop punk specifically neon pop punk lots of people just call it scene music to keep things short and simple so thats what I'm doing :3)

People have considered s3rl's music has been popular in the scene while being considered to be scene music and Nevershoutnever's music is also popular in the scene and considered scene music and Brokencyde's music is scene yet all of those artists are so different from each other so why isn't 6arelyhuman's music scene music? Because it definitely is. Scene music isn't just made up of one genre.

(Even Kesha's music was super popular in the scene community! :3)

Its okay to say you don't like 6arelyhuman's music but it definitely is scene and I feel like one of the issues we have is how we really like to box things in nowadays and we just end up gatekeeping more than we really should and in the end things become more complicated and lots of fighting and we see people arguing over stuff that is very silly.

I am personally tired of constantly putting things and creativity in restraining boxes when it doesn't make any sense or i know that it feels wrong. That's not because I'm trying to be better than anyone but because I have lots of experience because this has been something I have been into for a long time and experienced growing up.

I also feel that we don't talk enough about how the scene intersects a lot. Pop punk bands have made emo songs, pop punk bands have been considered scene, both scene and emo kids listen to post hardcore and metalcore etc. Like it intersects A LOT and a lot of these bands in the scene have also toured together and have been in festivals together like Warped Tour.

(6arelyhuman definitely would have been playing on Warped Tour if they made music back when Warped Tour was alive and active :3)

I'm just tired of seeing the gatekeeping and the arguing, I've seen this so many times in the past especially in the emo community and I'm tired of seeing it everywhere and it's sad seeing it still happen. It reminds me of when I see metalheads gatekeep on Facebook lolz! I want to add that I'm not trying to shame those who say these types of things because I know that they are most likely minors who are still new to the scene and are just trying to find their way around and are still learning and looking for advice, I used to be exactly like that but as someone who has been into this stuff for a long time I just felt like I needed to speak up. This has been a huge part of my life and has been my special interest for so long and the urge to want to say something has been craaaaazzzzyyyy lolz!

Another thing I want to add is that there is nothing bad about growth and change either even if it can be scary at times, sometimes it's not always a bad thing and is needed for a community to continue to thrive. Artists like 6arelyhuman help people get into the scene and get into other scene and emo artists.

And that's a good thing :3

So let's encourage growth, change and inclusion. That's what the scene should be about <3

reminded me of what i was thinking about a few days ago I am 19 now. i dont feel any fucking different from when i was 12. my opinions have changes my views have changed, ive learned so much, but i am not a different person now that i am an adult. my mom who is over 50 feels the exact same way. sometimes wonder if shes a child in an adult body. she has never changed as a person. who she is. in the entire time ive known her and i really thought i would change. but now i feel...anxious to actually talk to adults. to express my interest in sexual or dark things. because i dont feel like an adult. im not going to suddenly mature into an adult when i turn 18 and i never will. im not going to become a different person and i never will. who i was as a child will always be who i am as an adult and until the day i die. because who i am was never "child" or "adult" it was just me. thats me. and that will forever be me no matter what age i am. and i hope antis realize this one day (or maybe not with all that """post-minor""" bs ive seen)

you see... who you are or how you act is not what makes you a child or adult. your "childish" habits will carry on into adult hood and that NORMAL. thats HEALTHY.

i sometimes worry about all the other characters outside the main 6, but i try to remind myself it’s typical for high school dramas to have a bunch of minor side characters, and even before season 1 people freaked out over imogen but she ultimately had little screen time and didn’t take away from the main story. also i get the impression alice still has the strongest attachment to charlie as a character tbh and the springs as a family, from the way she talks about him and the way she’s been writing the comic. so there’s that. also ik some people were like “why did joe say so little” and i don’t think that video was meant to be representative of the season.. i’m sure tao will have more to do than imogen for example. but if anything putting joe last did feel main character vibes to me too. also i agree about boundaries!! much healthier to just disengage if social media becomes too stressful and twt is a cesspool in so many ways now anyway

Mytia is an angel, more specifically a seraphim. He carries out messages from God himself. Everything he does is to please God. He has tried to seduce God multiple times, making him end up on the verge of falling. His halo is starting to crack, along with some of his wing feathers turning darker.

God gave him the task of monitoring the ‘mortals’ in the ‘honkai universe’ as Mytia called it, so that was what he did. The angel had difficulty blending in due to his halo and multiple pairs of wings.

The back of their shirt is completely open to give freedom to his wings, even if it does make people look at them weirdly. Mytia has a marking on his leg, left by his god to remind them that he is always being watched.

this has all been spurred on bc of a very close friend of mine. she does so much for me and is an incredible person who deserves so much happiness, but i see so much of the old me in her. we are extremely different, but she reminds me of the old me insofar as she spills herself completely and says the things she thinks others want to hear and seems to be right on the cusp of a confrontation with herself that will change everything if she lets it. that being said, she speaks so highly of me and so obsessively about how she's my best friend and as endearing as it is, it also worries me because i think she understands me to be something i'm not.

now none of this would bother me nearly as much as it has recently if it werent for the ways she simultaneously tries to bring me down. i dont think she means to do it, but there's a way she speaks at times that bothers me deeply. she has a tendency to ask people questions that put them in weird positions and they often center around these dilemmas wherein she assumes she has some deficiency compared to me abd confronts others with it (asking people she's hooking up with if they think i'm prettier than her, asking me why the people on the board of the club we ran together seem to respect me more, etc). she also has a tendency to post pictures of me that make me very uncomfortable without asking first and she only does it when she's talking to someone new (like she's trying to make sure anyone new she's talking to won't be into me instead and like. i woukdnt care if she was sending gross pictures of me to them directly but she just posts them publicly bc she 'doesnt want to be to forward'). then there's the way she belittles the things i care about. i told her something so private and personal and she treated it like a game and as much as she apologized up and down for it and as much as i forgive it, it doesnt change the fact that it showed me she fundamentally does not understand me. there have been other more minor instances of things i'd classify in tgis vein, but they seem irrelevant now. there are also other behaviors that i'd group in with these but i dont feel i have the right to because i realize they are tendencies i share (things like belittling the things i share specifically when she worries people will think i introduced her to the concept. that anxiety i understand comoletely, though the way she deals with it is a bit of a problem)

idk. its strange. shes really such a good person, but i worry at times that shes grown so concerned with being close to me that she also feels on some level that she needs to make me smaller both so she can keep me around and so that she can guarantee i'm not a threat. i feel like a pet (doesnt help that she jokes about me literally being her cat/Kat lol) and i dont really like it. i know thats not all i am to her and our relationship is so much more than this, but its been hard for me to see past this element of it recently. just really been bugging me. ill bring it up sometime soon when i think shes in a stable enough spot to hear it

Martin may be the one who lead Prentiss to the Institute, but only because Prentiss was hanging out in Vittery’s cobwebbed basement, for an unknown reason:

If there were spiders there, none were easily seen, and… for a second I thought that the only interesting part of my return trip was that it would land me in prison if I wasn’t careful. The same Vittery who had already told Annabelle about his experiences:

Which might mean nothing if it weren’t for:

Not only does a spider cause Jon to knock down the wall to where Prentiss was hiding in the tunnels...

038 Lost and Found Sasha: “A spider?” Jon: “Yeah. I tried to kill it…. the shelf collapsed.”

...But according to Tim’s speculation:

040 Human Remains Tim: “I think they were almost all in the Archives. I have a theory, actually. I think they weren’t ready to attack when you found the tunnels.”

Which, if true, means that if the wall hadn’t been broken, Prentiss might’ve attacked with bigger force and killed Jon outright, instead of neatly marking him.

- 35, all of s2: A Web table lets a Stranger into the Institute

Although it’s never said who or what ordered the table to be delivered, the addition of the Web lighter with it makes it easy to guess. As Jonah says in 160:  the Not!Them mark turned out not to have been necessary because of the Unknowing, but this was certainly a nice back-up to have. 

- 80: Jon steps out for a smoke

Giving Jonah the opportunity to brutal pipe murder Jurgen.

While nothing in the actual text of the episode points to Web involvement, addictions like smoking fall under their domain. Add to that the recent gift of that lighter, and Jon saying he didn’t smoke anymore, it’s certainly suspicious.

- (91: Daisy only went to the Institute when she got the tapes

Okay, this one is mostly web!tapes propaganda, but I think it’s compelling web!tapes propaganda. I’d link the post I made about this earlier, but it has simply vanished from this universe, as far as tumblr is concerned... In any case: 

091 The Coming Storm Daisy: “You ask me to take a tape over to this murdering freak, and I’m all set to tear you a new one for it. But then I get the cassette in my hand, and suddenly all I want to do is deliver his tapes, and spill my guts.”

If it’s from Jon, not only would this be the furthest reaching compulsion by far, in only in season 2 no less, but it would also be the only one that is transmitted via the tapes/another person outside of the Institute(Basira) instead of just Jon speaking directly to the person. While, if it’s the Web’s doing, making someone want to do something they don’t realize is weird at the time, is totally in their wheelhouse! And it’d make them responsible for convincing Daisy that Jon’s a monster, ergo, his Hunt mark.)

- 121: Oliver was sent by the Web

121 Far Away Oliver Banks: “Honestly, I’m still not exactly sure why I’m here. But you know better than anyone how the spiders can get into your head. Easier to just do what she asks.” 

Aka, the man who told Jon what he needed to hear to wake up, nice and alive and marked by both the Stranger and the End, when he hadn’t been able to for 6 months.

- (130: The Web leads Jon to Jared)

130 Meat Jon: “I found this tape tucked in a corner of my desk drawer, covered in cobwebs. I suppose subtlety has gone out the window a bit, and the question is now simply… how much I trust the Spider to have my best interests at heart.”

Not only did this one tape lead Jon to get his Flesh mark, which Jonah had conked up by getting Jared to the Institute too soon, but arguably it also made Jon confident enough to go into the Buried. Which the rib didn’t even help with!  What did help though, was...

Even if you don’t believe that the tapes are from the Web, there’s still this conversation: 

134 Time of Revelation Peter: “What does – puzzle me though, and I mean that genuinely, is – why you were piling tape recorders onto the coffin while Jon was in there.” - Martin: “I don’t know. And I just – felt like it might help. He’s always recording, and I thought it – it might help him… find his way out.” Peter: “Interesting. Were you compelled?” - Martin: “I don’t know. Maybe? I-I, I definitely wanted to do it. [But] I’m not sure where the idea came from. Peter: “You should watch out for that. Could be something dangerous.”

Implanting ideas in someone’s mind, specifically making them want to do something, without them knowing that the idea is coming from outside, is something the Web isn’t a stranger to (056, 059). It might also be the Eye, but wouldn’t Martin know what an Eye compulsion would feel like, by now?  On a meta level, it’s a curious thing to point out. Would anyone have protested if Martin got the idea of the tapes on his own?

And there you have it! 8 instances of arachnid involvement.  There are more small mentions of Web-like interference with Jon here and there in other episodes, and of course his first Fear mark in 081, but these are the ones that seem to very clearly point towards the Mother of Puppets, or some of her avatars, having helped Jonah in bringing about the end of the world. There’s still the question of why, what their ‘plan’ is now, but I’m sure we’ll find out about that soon enough - Dare I say, March 25th or earlier, even

its been 10 days since the movieversary but my CU hyperfixation's still going so heres another one of those Scattered Thoughts posts (minor movie spoilers!)

So i updated the playlist at treehouseblogsinc this week! Idek if Wikplayer still works for most people, but this streak’s five years long and i aint quittin yet! (Usually i just replace song links when they break, but this time i removed a song too cus the guy it references has been Bitch lately)

Speaking of, i did my semi-annual reread of the whole blog too and... man :’’’) Its still mind-blowing how many people played along (and got pissed at Melvin when he took over lmaooo). All the silly, sweet, and angry asks i got there still warm my heart to this day

You know what else i still do to this day? Draw things Pilkey-style! Sometimes i try to follow a rigid anatomy when i draw and feel stuck when it doesnt look right. When that happens, i step back and make a quick Pilk-ish sketch as a reminder to keep things loose. Works every time :)

Something i still love about the movie and the months leading up to it is how much of it felt like a grand... I dont wanna say joke, cus that kinda implies they didnt care when its obvious they truly did. Lets go with prank — it all felt like a grand prank! Like the decisions they made worked in the end, but were also super funny to read and hear about. Like oh my god, they rented Abbey Road Studios to record a choir playing kazoos and singing the word “underpants!” They got the biggest up-and-coming horror director to voice white-ass Melvin Sneedly. (Tho i guess now it can be argued that he’s white-passing in movie!verse, so thats cool)

My fave example of this is how they got Lil Yachty for the album. On one hand, whatever chunk of the limited budget they spent to get him probably could’ve been put to better use, like actually animating the Turbo Toilet fight or something? (While moving the Flip-O-Rama to another scene of course.) On the other hand, its hilarious that they got him to rap the word “cool” 15 times to a cover of Oh Yeah, and then didnt even put it in the movie. Its like George and Harold themselves wrote the stupidest lyrics possible just to see if he’d agree to them, and he did?? Thats comedy gold???

Why didnt i bookmark all the production stuff posted to Instagram. There was so much cool stuff i wanna see again but the search function there is still garbage and uuuughh

Im still scared of getting what’s coming to me when the Dog Man movie drops, but now im also wondering if theyll still have George and Harold as a framing device. Ngl i havent caught up with the new books in a hot minute, but ive heard that the boys have stopped appearing in them? if that’s true, that’s Dav’s choice and i have to respect that. ....but also i really wanna see them in CG again. pretty please dreamworks, i miss my sons so much

It mustve been a while since i last watched the movie, cus when i did on the 2nd, the Origin Issue sequence like... broke me all over again. i wrote about why its so great once for a thing that never got made actually, lemme dig that up and paste it in here

The score begins with chiptune and kazoos, two common motifs for childhood whimsy, and already a great fit for this sequence’s simple, handdrawn look. 

But it doesn’t stop there! It goes from what sounds like just two or three people playing kazoos… to a whole chorus of them… which gives way to a full-fledged orchestra. It’s as dramatic a transition as… oh, say, a one-man children’s book to an animated movie by one of the top studios in the industry.

And in turn, as the comic continues, we’re brought closer and closer to the panels until the white gutter between them vanishes, and they engulf the screen. The medium through which this story’s being told has faded from awareness; all that exists now is the story itself. 

But just as suddenly, we’re brought back to our true surroundings. The orchestral music ends, the chiptune returns for one last gentle sting, and we remember this epic tale’s humble origins: a comic book, written and drawn by two 4th graders. *sniff*

Another Score thing i love: you know how Captain is one big Superman parody? I think Shapiro mightve had that in mind when he composed his theme tune, because it starts with a triumphant first three notes (the “Underpaaaaants” part) — just like some of Superman’s! I dont know the right musical terms but cmon, theres a pattern there! And its so touching that they found Captain worthy of a song of that caliber!! Like yes, he IS a true superhero!! heres the epic theme song to prove it!!

Oh wow okay. So to dig up that Writing Thing, i had to open some folders i havent touched in years. And there were outlines for 10 different fanfics in there.
