WHY DID YOU PICK UP WRITING?           i’m  pretty  sure  i  first  started  by  writing  shitty  warrior  cats  fanfics  actually,   and  i  didn’t  know  that  fics  or  fandom  in  general  was  even  a  thing  at  the  time  so  u  could  say  i  was  destined  for  this  sort  of  brainrot   fgdjkh   little  nine  year  old  me  also  encountered  rp  for  the  first  time  by  searching  for  warrior  cats  flash  games   (i guess??  idk  what  i  actually  thought  i’d  find)   and  instead  wound  up  on  some  random  webpage  with  a  chatbox.  moved  on  from  there  to  writing  awful,  horrible   (but  very  fun)   naruto  oc’s  on  a  website  that  i  think  was  called  chatango  some  years  later,   dabbled  a  little  on  imvu,   and  started  writing  on  tumblr  around  2015  iirc

DO YOU HAVE ANY WRITING ROUTINES?          i  wouldn’t  say  so?  sometimes  i’ll  listen  to  like…  instrumental  interludes  from  certain  albums  or  smth  that  i  won’t  enjoy  too  much  because  i  find  music  very  distracting,   not  just  for  writing  but  in  general,   and  sitting  in  silence  is  a  weird  feeling  to  me  too.  when  it  comes  to  other  things  i  need  a  podcast  or  video  essay  or  something  similar  to  be  at  all  productive  but  it’s  hard  to  focus  on  writing  with  someone  yapping  in  your  ear.  i  used  to  save  writing  for  nights even  when  i  have  free  time  throughout  the  day,   because  i  tend  to  feel  bad  about  sitting  at  a  computer  screen  all  day,   but  with  my  activity  in  its  current  state  i  have  to  sit  down  and  get  it  out  the  moment  inspiration  and  energy  align  themselves  for  me.    

WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE PART ABOUT WRITING?         sorry  to  steal  your  answer  but  i  def  have  to  agree  with  what  layla  said  re  the  community  aspect  of  rp  actually.  it’s  so  nice  to  be  able  to  just  click  with  someone  over  a  shared   (sometimes  niche)   interest  and  love  for  certain  medias/characters/dynamics/genres  etc.  the  feeling  of  finding  someone  who  shares  your  vision.  and  also  stemming  from  the  same  thing,   i’ve  always  felt  that  my  favorite  and  most  “solid”  muses  are  the  ones  that  i’ve  gotten  the  chance  to  develop  alongside  another  through  plotting.  love  shared  canon,  love  affiliated  oc’s,  love  group  verses.  allllll  that  good  stuff.  

THREE THINGS YOU LIKE ABOUT YOUR WRITING.         gonna  break  the  format  we’re  following  here  because  i  have  to  ramble  and  idk  how  to  break  all  this  into  three  titles,     so  obviously  being  succinct  isn’t  one  of  the  answers  here   kfdjghd

i  always  try  to  capture  a  different  flow  and  style   (???)   of  prose  depending  on  who  i’m  writing,   and  i’m  never  sure  if  that  really  comes  through  for  others  or  if  i  just  seem  inconsistent,   but  whenever  i  look  back  at  old  blogs  i  can  see  it  for  myself  and  that  at  least  keeps  me  content   :)   i  want  to  read  my  writing  back  and  feel  that  it  has  character  outside  of  just  the  spoken  dialogue.

i  like  to  spend  a  lot  of  time  with  a  piece  of  writing,   which  realistically  is  not  to  my  benefit  in  terms  of  activity,   but  i  do  just  really  enjoy  drafting  and  redrafting,   rearranging,   nitpicking  at  everything  until  it’s  as  close  to  being  what  i  want  to  be  as  i  can  get  it.  so  that’s  more  about  the  writing  process  than  the  writing  itself,   but  i  think  it’s  still  important  to  allow  myself  to  have  fun  with  it  fkjghd

pulling  a  blank  on  a  third  thing  bc  this  is  actually  a  really  difficult  question  but  i’ll  come  back  and  edit  it  later  if  something  pops  into  my  head  kfjgdh

HAVE YOU MADE ANY STRONG  CONNECTIONS  /  FRIENDS DURING YOUR TIME WRITING?          for  sure.  one  of  my  dearest  friends  in  this  world  is  not  a  writer  but  someone  who  i  met  as  a  mutual  friend  of  my  first  rp  partner.  i’m  not  really  in  touch  with  that  person  who  introduced  us  anymore  but  i  simply  couldn’t  live  without  my  bestie  and  i  consider  writing  the  only  reason  we  really  met and she gets to kinda "beta" some of the things i do write   dfkgjhd   i’ve  also  traveled  to  the  states  a  couple  of  times  in  my  teens  to  meet  a  rp  buddy  who  i’ve  known  since  i  was  around   ,,   twelve  or  so  i  believe.  

wouldn’t  be  right  not  to  shout  out  @ohchosen  here  either  because  i  was  very  close  to  leaving  tumblr   (and  also  probably  rp)   for  good  when  we  became  friends,   and  writing/plotting  tmkz  together  has  been  one  of  the  best  experiences  i’ve  ever  had  on  this  website,   where  friends  and  mutuals  tend  to  come  and  go.  you  never  did.  you’re  probs  the  funniest  person  i’ve  ever  spoken  to,   craft  the  most  beautifully  written  responses  imaginable,   you  put  a  world  of  effort  into  developing  your  muses  and  you  let  me  derail  every  single  one  of  conversations  to  talk  about  music  instead   gfjhdg   sorry  i’m  so  mean  to  you.  ily  a  lot.

Sign - Nobukazu Takemura (2000)

my pfp !!!! i discovered the title track sign from the album hoshi no koe, but this is the record it originally debuted in! takemura is a japanese electronic musician who makes a lot of experimental music, and this album is no different. however, it has sort of a.. nintendo vibe to it? it’s difficult to describe, but it’s super fun !! i love the album art as well and the rhythmic motion of the building. the little music note guy has my whole heart too, theyre jus a little goober <3

Paraiso - Haruomi Hosono and The Yellow Magic Band (1978)

i wouldve put this in yellow but there is no option. anywayz this is a interesting album. ive recently started listening to hosono’s music and i enjoy it a lot !!! hosono house is fire, but this one is also good ! the cover art is what initially led me to listening to this, i love the beach atmosphere and the sky as space. and the little bubbles that have random monuments in them. and the palm trees n plants and agh. it’s delightfully surreal and im here for it !!!

S-F-X - Haruomi Hosono (1984)

look hosono you’re awesome and i love your early stuff so far. but i could not get into this ep at all. might try again tho !! but it’s really a shame because the cover is awesome. i love the distortion on the face and the pops of pink and yellow against the teal background. it’s very pleasing to look at and it’s been floating in my mind for awhile. very futuristic lookin !

Sail - Masakatsu Takagi (2003)

I AM THE ULTIMATE TAKAGI FAN #1 anyway. this album is so so lovely and silly. it has a special place in my heart now fr. the best way to describe it is animal crossing/picopop(??) type music. some of it reminds me of kero kero bonito’s music too. idk genres are weird !! point is it’s very upbeat and nostalgic. a few tracks are more somber sounding, especially rama. but i love the album art of this one, it’s like something you’d see in a dream or a childhood memory. i love the watercolor texture and the blend of pastel colors too!! and how it looks as if it was combined from multiple layers, as in each piece of the figure was made separately. overall takagi is a genius and this album SLAPS

Keep It Unreal (10th Anniversary) - Mr. Scruff (2009)

mr. scruff makes very cheeky and silly electronic music, but occasionally he drops an absolute banger. nah fr all of his stuff is good, some of it is just more “serious” than others. but i appreciate his sense of humor and the beats he makes ! this album of his is a great listen, but i especially love the cover. the og album cover is mounted up in the corner while these little bean guys are celebrating. truly a work of art. his other album ninja tuna also shares a similar art style !! very goofy <3

A Wizard, a True Star - Todd Rundgren (1973)

do i gotta say anything even. this is just a masterpiece of a cover. there is so much going on in the best way possible. i love the incorporation of the geometric shapes. the trippy visuals. it screams 70s. not to mention this album is fire. international feel is so good !!!

Desire, I Want to Turn Into You - Caroline Polachek (2023)

PHOTOGRAPHY JUMPSCARE ! i recently go into caroline polachek and OML where have you been all my life. this album is pure pop bliss and her vocals are so so good. sunset and fly to you are especially good oug. the album cover in particular is very simple in concept but it’s executed so well. the lighting, the sand, the bus chairs, her outfit?? absolutely stunning. this woman oozes creativity fr.

Dreams - Gabor Szabo (1968)

i could not find a better quality image of this one but holy molay this is a great jazz fusion record. is it fusion? idk anymore. but this is a great album and the art is just. mwah. i love all of the intricate details and the flowers. it’s just gorgeous !!! what else can i say !

Dead but Dreaming - vivivivivi (2023)

final one !!! vivivivivi is honestly super underrated, though her song credits song for my death has 8 million views on yt. anyway, this was a pretty recent album from her and it’s very cool !!! def gives the vibes of an rpg. i love the album cover tho!! the artist did a tremendous job with it, i love the overgrowth of the flowers and the shading. it also suits the tracks well !!

Do you use sarcasm a lot? I guess??? My family is very good at the type of sarcasm where you basically just lie with a straight face/without intonation and assume people will know from context that you don't really mean it. Sadly this does not always work which makes things awkward ahsdlfhs

What sports do you play? I guess running and working out at the gym? I used to play football and do judo as a kid tho.

What's the first thing you notice about people? Not sure! Probably clothes/general appearance, but nothing special I pay attention to.

Scary movies or happy endings? 🤔🤔🤔 I don't think I've actually watched that many horror movies tbh? I like the genre but idk probably happy endings.

Any special talents? Nothing very special, but I guess I've got a pretty good memory for random details/stories. Which means that even twelve years later I could tell you some very specific episode details from s3 of TVD. 😅 Not very useful but on the plus side I can sometimes manage to make this work for stuff like remembering conversations or real life history lessons.

I don't necessarily think that's a bad thing, tho. It would be bad if you were just listening/watching/eating these things BECAUSE everyone else was doing it.

BUT, I'll take this as you want to try new things!

For Music:

I use Rate Your Music (RYM) to find new music. I put in some different tags like "female vocals" and other ones and then just make a short playlist on spotify. It's a hit and miss but it's how I find music. I also type "spotify" on here, shrink the search down to just audio posts, and will sometimes go through those. I go on Soundcloud sometimes and just type in random titles or just click around. AND on TIkTok, I would type in "unsigned artist" "new artist" "presave on spotify" etc. and go from there. I also just click random artists on Spotify or Youtube and just let music play in the background while I'm doing something.

For Media (TV, movies, etc.):

I use a "website" to watch movies. Sometimes I'll just put a genre in alphabetical order and pick a movie. Most streaming services have random movies just layin around. Just click one! There's not really a trick to it. Or to any of this. If something seems interesting, just click it. Don't worry about it others have already seen it.

When it comes to eating new things, I'm personally a little restricted by finances so I don't have much advice. My idea of trying new things is risking my abdominal health for macaroni and cheese I found in a liquor store. Soooo, I'm not the one to ask, lol.

Either way! It's just about trying new things!

Spend a day with him exploring nature. Okay listen. I love walks in my forest and looking at all the different plants and mushrooms and trees and I just wanna do that with him. Maybe we could sit somewhere and try to paint some cute mushrooms together and later it starts to rain and so we go back home and drink tea whilst reading each other poetry. And then we make out obviously because duh it's Joonie Boonie. Also alternatively I wanna follow him to an art museum and then let him tell me all about what he knows about the art & artist. Like yes please tell me all about it, I wanna fucking look at your lips as you tell me about art. And I wanna tell him about photography because that's the only art genre I really know lots about and I wanna impress him, like that's all I want for him to go "oh wow I didn't know that, thank you for telling me, I learned something new". And then we drive to some place in nature with our bikes and make out under a tree.

Spend a day with him in the most comfortable clothes ever and then play games with him. Like tbfh? I would already be happy if I could only watch him game while I'm on my phone and every now and then we would chat about something random or the game or I show him a funny tiktok and he laughs. And then we cook food together and eat it whilst chatting about our days. Like I just wanna lounge around with him, play games, cook and talk. I feel like he is perfect for that. I know it may sound boring to some but that type of day is just ideal in my eyes.

Cuddle him all day bro and play with his hair hahhaah. No but on a more serious note, I seriously just wanna coexist with him? Like we're both on the couch, close enough that our bodies touch and we do our own things but every now and then we reach out for the other and touch innocently. I also really wanna bake something with him. Put on some music and then dance in the kitchen while we're trying to bake a cake or cookies and then once they're done we share them under a blanket and he tells him all about his newest song or some random enlightenment he had whilst showering and I can trace his face and kiss his cheeks. Also a woodworking date, idk if you guys know that about me but I actually build furniture in my freetime fadjf so I wanna do that with him too. I also wanna go on a forest walk with him because I wanna show him tiny mushrooms and go “you” and then hold his hand and kiss his blushing cheek.

I wanna go shopping with him. Get food from a random street vendor & eat it on a bench while we talk about our interests. Get boba from a shop and sip on it while we strut down the streets. Go into every shop we find interesting and show each other what we think could look good on the other person. I also really wanna go to a secondhand shop with him and then do that thing where you pick out clothes for each other. You know, where the other is like “blind” and you say stop and whatever their hand lands on, they have to wear. Yeah I wanna do that with him. And then take pictures together because obviously we’d look cute af in our new fits.

Okay listen. I think that he and I would vibe so much afjdsjf like whenever they do a live and some of his real humor shines through I fucking wheeze. Like that man is so funny irl if he doesn’t have to censor himself, I am telling you. So tbfh? I just wanna hang out with him at his or mine place, order take out, open a bottle of wine and then just talk? Like I feel like we’d regularly topple over in laughter cause one of us said something borderline idiotic again which sets the other off hahahha. But if we’re really talking about activities maybe go to a fun fair and then ride too many rides until we’re both dizzy. This is obviously all a scheme just so I can hold his hand on the rollercoasters ohoho. Or go to a pottery painting class and laugh at each other’s drawings while trying not to laugh in order not to disturb the other students, which then makes us giggle even harder. No but seriously I just wanna like laugh with him? hahaha does that sound weird?

Roadtrip. I said what I said. I just wanna drive around with him, listen to music and sing to the songs. Then we stop every now and then for food or when we see an especially pretty place to take pictures at. We don’t know the destination but that doesn’t matter because quite frankly? Spending time with each other is the destination and the rest is just pretty things making the memories more vivid. I do wanna stop at somewhere high once the sun sets, just so we can oversee whatever is down below while the sun sets in the distance. Alternatively I just wanna paint with him. Listen to jazz, drink some tea and then paint next to each other. Also slow dance with him omfg please :( and, and omfg and work on a whole pictorial concept together, rent a studio and then photograph it with us obviously as the models because we’re hot like that HAHAHA. He is once again a canditate for a forest walk too because I wanna take pictures with him and see what catches his eyes. Obviously we’d use our film cameras, so that later we can develop our films together and then spend our evening scanning them and talking about them.

I think that neither of our introverted asses actually would want to leave our apartment ahhahah so I gotta say chill out date again, inside and cozied up. Bro I can’t keep saying chilling with all of them but I really do wanna chill with all of them ahahah. Listen, I’m an introvert I rarely go outside afdjsfja. But listen. We’d make it nice and romantic. With cooking first where we try to make our own pasta and it’s actually turning out great and we have a great time. And then we’d watch a Marvel movie because those are always so much mindless fun and I just wanna watch him geek out about superheroes. Also I wanna game with him, but like some sort of zombie apocalypse game like Days Gone or Last of Us and we’d take turns and I can show him how much I rock at those games when I’m mowing through the zombies easily fjadsjf. Tbfh, I’d also be fucking happy if we were watching a random Let’s Play from like Seán or Evelien and he was between my legs with his head on my chest while I play with his hair and he dozes off slowly. Also. Forest walks! I said what I said, I wanna take a walk with him too. What can I say, I’m an Austrian country girl we love our forest walks ahahah.

3.) What is that one scene that you’ve always wanted to write but can’t be arsed to write all of the set-up and context it would need?

Everything I want to write for the WIP is Coming So Help Me God. If it doesn't fit but is still Mass Effect it's going in a supplimentary little oneshots catch all thing. That's been most of the brain atm, I've got some DW WIPs but I'm totally gonna get back to them I promise.

That Does Not Mean I have Never had half assed ideas I didn't write.

I wanted to make my DBH fic longer, I wanted it to be a whole thing about Connor getting super overwhelmed with being a Deviant and everything that entails and it was all a super thinly veiled metaphor for autistic burnout. I also briefly thought I would recreate the whole of DBH as a text-adventure that was naive hah.

I wanted to write a She-Ra fic focusing on what if Adora just let Catra come with her when she sneaked out of the horde to go find the sword in the first episode. It was gonna be a big long AU and basically everything would be different if that one thing changed. They were gonna be gay way earlier

I have a whole original thing I have never written much of at all but I do have ideas!! I also have Assignmence and Autism Special Interests which take precident a lot of the time.

8.) Is what you like to write the same as what you like to read?

This is a fun one because mostly no? Depends on how specific you get. I write fanfic, I read a lot of fanfic. In terms of genre, I love writing angst, if I do not feel 1000% confident that the angst will be held properly (no big dramatic plot twists or OOC stuff for drama or fuckin cliffhangers, dickhead) then I will just simply not read it. No. I do like when it's funny and nonsense and I write a lot of that, but I also like when random americans write about fucking Calculus man idk what I like that's between me, god, and a team of psychologists.

15. Which is harder: titles or summaries (or tags)?

I am simply built different these are all easy hahhaa. I am shit at suggesting titles for others writing but for me I just title everything either a joke or a song lyric and wham done. Idk if they're catchy or enticing I have no idea I just want it to all line up so you can scroll and sing a really weird disjointed version of a song weeee

WELL!! You are gonna read this and be like "none of this was new information to me" but idc I'm saying it anyway (SPOILERS FOR MY MASS EFFECT FIC LOL)

ROBOT SHEPARD. I adored that as a concept, it literally wasn't my goal with Tis Grace I have notes from the beginning trying to focus on the, like, social implictations of being dead for a while but it wasn't holding water and then I was like what about the physical implications and then I was like WHAT IF SHE'S AN AI

it was great and there is SO much coming for that, there's stuff in my ME3 one that revolves around that and I'm so excited for. It's all foreshadowed and set up and it's fun because a lot of it happened almost accidentally. In terms of relationships, I obviously love the title lesbians, I swear I do even though they have been together for maybe 15 minutes in the fic but look. I wanted an explanation for why Liara isn't with you in ME2 and I could not think of a cheery one for that. I also didn't expect to be as obsessed with Jack as I am but honestly herself and Shepard genuinely having a close friendship? Miranda gets roped in for dramatic tension? They should have let me write the games idc that I was 10 years old

Ooh I’ve been absent in the fandom for a while (so my everything is rusty), I didn’t realise that ppl would criticise the game cause we don’t know the continent name? In terms of lore I don’t think its that important to develop, instead I want to focus on the lands of Nohr and Hoshido.

For me whenever I read leokumi there’s a focus on strengthening relationships between the two nations, and whilst I love love love that the main focus is Leo and Takumi, I’ve read so many that I want a plot that includes their relationship whilst not glossing over trying to establish the peace between the two nations, especially because they seem to have a history of war (I think). Normally I would just write it but then I realised that there’s so many missing details and so that’s where my idea came from to flesh it out.

I absolutely agree on what you’re saying since establishing random facts like ancestry etc is not what interests me, UNLESS that ancestor idk was responsible for establishing like a mage school which has a knock on effect in the present game (because like the Nohrians are known for their dark mages. I swear I heard there was a school there, and its curious that dark mages aren’t as feared compared to their counterparts in other games and genres. Perhaps another point towards the desperation of Nohr? Or perhaps they are less fearful of the unknown? Or maybe willing to experiment, one could say innovative? [Stuff like this I wanna build on]). Oh plus also the relations with the smaller nations/towns (?) like Nestra, Mokushu etc (I’ve still to research on this part so maybe I’m wrong)

Funny you should mention the concubine wars. I was going through the Fates Drama and like I would love if the concubine wars were mentioned more. Fans seem to know that some of their siblings died during disputes between the concubines but also some were executed, died in battle, taken by Hoshido and I feel like that offers already so many questions to expand on. But also begs the question on really how many children were there in total. A fanfic set where Corrin or Azura has to navigate the court or even Takumi navigating the court would be super interesting.

But yes, deffo that point. One that I struggle on is the establishing of peace between Nohr and Hoshido. I want to know why its difficult. Like ofc we have the villages and ppl affected, but how far does it go back? Realistically there would be resistance groups, perhaps from both sides? Why wasn’t trade the first thought? Or did it start with trade and escalate? How much of it was Garon or was Hoshido being difficult etc.

I didn’t think about the farming techniques but that’s something I want to explore as well. I think during peace times it would make sense for Leo to use Brynhildr to try and heal the land. I want the legendary weapons to be used more if that makes sense. Like the two swords on both sides make sense for defending the country but a magical tome has so much more potential, especially on the agriculture and perhaps terraforming with gravity. Fujin Yumi wise, I’d have to do more research but it would be poetic if the second sons of both nations were in charge of making sure the nations thrived from within whilst the elder brothers defend it.

Omg I’m so sorry I didn’t mean for it to be so long. It’s just really nice to ramble to someone who knows what I’m talking about and that cares ^^’ If AO3 allows such a thing then I might start planning, I’ve already got 2 sheets of notes from the audio Drama :D

Oh also I just read my ask you answered and by no means did I mean to trash fates. I love the game but I just have issues with the plot. It makes me sad at all the potential lost since I love the game and it's cast. But yeah its not to say that the history and world building we got was bad, I just as a lore nerd crave more. I really hope we can get a remake, maybe on switch but at this rate I think it's copium. I read the wikipedia and apparently one of the writers wrote enough for 2 books worth in terms of plot and just aaa I wonder how they must feel about the game

Also, I would DIE if they gave us a switch release of Fates, especially if they re-localized it to make it more accurate. Like honestly I'd be so over the moon. But I'd also accept just a port, I mean it's kind of necessary since I believe Rev is now no longer available on the eshop as of this month and the rest of the eshop is shutting down soon?

Anyway I'm glad we're similarly minded with regard to establishing background facts that don't have much effect on the present, lol. As for the history of conflict, it's been a while since I've played, but IIRC there was always the implication that Anankos's influence was part of what's been driving conflict between the nations? I suppose if you were writing an AU that ignores Valla though (or wanted reasons beyond that) you could really go with anything. I think the game also implies that Hoshido is kind of isolationist and that combined with their bountiful lands kind of leads to Nohrians resenting them? Resources and lack thereof have always been a major driver of conflict historically.

All of the stuff you brought up does sound interesting! I'd especially like to see your take on the Nohr dark mages because you're right, it doesn't really seem all that strange there like it does in other places in the series.

Hello there! Can I get a twisted wonderland matchup? Starting off with my appearance I'm chubby and 5'1 with long ginger hair. I am a short king :). Regarding mbti I'm an ENTP. Also, with my personality my friends would describe me as "bubbly, weird, smart, honest, and kind". I asked em for traits for random internet quizzes so that's what they told me lol. Despite being a bit of an extrovert I also highly value my alone time to the degree I can become quite introverted. Moving onto hobbies I like playing video games, watching YouTube videos on random topics I'm interested in, listening to music, and reading. My favorite games tend to be RPGs. My fav games are probs Dragon Age, Skyrim, and Tomodachi life. I love to create characters in games and explore, and I especially enjoy building houses in games. Idk why but building houses gives me such joy. My favorite part of Skyrim is unironically the dlc that lets you build a house. I love to build that house and then get a husband and some kids. I consider that my end game goal verses the main quest which I've never actually finished despite putting 200 hours into Skyrim. For movies well I don't rlly watch movies much but my favorite series is probably star wars. Especially the prequels because I enjoy the characters more in those films and all the lore it adds. For music I kinda listen to everything, but my favorite artist is probably Hozier. The only genre I dislike is screamo probs. For things I hate uhhh I guess I dislike bugs, being put under pressure, and small spaces as I'm claustrophobic. Finally, going onto favorite idol I am going to go with a hisotrical example as I also love to learn about hisotry. I have many examples I could pick for figures I admire, but I'll go with a more famous example, Oscar Wilde. Just in case you don't know, Oscar wilde was a famous Irish author and playwright during the late 1800s. He was quite controversial for his opinions on art and morality, and he was a gay man at time where that was illegal. All of this lead up to him eventually getting arrested and jailed. I admire him because he didn't care that society thought he was wrong and immoral, he lived his life and gave his opinions despite it. Anyway that's it thanks!

If there is going to be a problem in your relationship, I think it's because Ace is too sarcastic when he's angry sometimes and you can't stand it and annoy him even more with clever answers. Usually this ends in fights and the fights are quite childish. After about a week, even though you miss each other, you can't break your pride. As a result grim and deuce will be together and reconcile you somehow because GOD you are irresistible you love birds LMAO.

onto albums i recommend:

Untitled by Tera Melos is an experimental prog rock concept album (i guess? im bad at describing things). as music, some of these songs are pretty good and i listen to them fairly often, but more aptly, it’s an incredibly interesting experience to sit through the entire album and make it to melody 8. melody 8 is a real ride. can’t recommend enough

Meeting with a Judas Tree by Duval Timothy is a really great experimental album. mainly piano and field recording focused. i love it a lot

Nothing is Still by Leon Vynhall is an. ambient electronic + piano concept album? through the song titles and music it tells some kind of story. it’s great

On Second Thoughts by Sasha Gavlek is a wonderful alternative jazz album. highly recommend

Neō Wax Bloom by Iglooghost is like. high tempo sample heavy vgm inspired electronic music? that seems a sort of apt description i guess? idk, i like it a lot

next two i’ve loved for a bit and in fact have been in my top 5 artists in wrapped for the last two years; Crumb and The Rare Occasions. Crumb is my go-to answer whenever anyone asks me my favourite band, and Notion by The Rare Occasions is what i say is my favourite song ever (you may recognize the lyrics as being my old blog title and bio, Physics is where my current title bio and icon come from lol). realistically those answers are fluid and change month by month but these two bands are certainly some of my favourites of all time.

before i write the rest of this post i want to make one (or two? maybe even 3 idk i didnt pull out my calculator or anything) things VERY clear; I LOVE this new(ish) crop of Springsteen-core bands (punk rock bands that either are directly influenced by the Boss or they cover many of the same things. i.e. driving on the highway while reflecting on our poor economic situation, working shitty jobs to barley pay rent while reflecting on our poor economic situation, being madly//hopelessly in love with someone very pretty while reflecting on our poor economic situation, etc.) I also LOVE Bruce Springsteen. his first SEVEN albums are all masterpieces.

ok. that being said:

recently Bruce appeared on the song "Chinatown" song by the band Bleachers. if you aren't familiar, it's like an electronic-y kinda song with heavy nostalgia vibes. lyrics include things like: "Get in my backseat, honeypie And I'll wear your sadness like it's mine" and "But a girl like you Could rip me out of my head Black tears on your cheek I want them in my bed I'll take you out of the city Honey, right into the shadow" and finally: "I wanna run I wanna run I love to chase every feeling I wanna run"

"okay Jewish Nick Miller" I hear you asking "what point are you making? all you've done is tell us that you like The Gaslight Anthem and then post some lyrics to a song that isn't even by that band" to which I would respond: you clearly need to go back and reread my post because I said I LOVE tGA. but ok, here is my point:

Chinatown by Bleachers is more of a descendant of Springsteen's music than the Gaslight Anthem, the Hold Steady, Titus Andronicus, or any other orgcore band (AGAIN, I love all these bands; they are all top ten bands EASILY) Why do I say this? Simple, it comes down to the style of music they play. Bruce played a mix of rock n roll, r&b, motown, soul, and occasionally folk. These are all genres with mainstream popularity at the time; (early 70's to mid 80's) in the case of motown and r&b they are also genres associated with a fun night out, dancing, etc. Now take the orgcore bands; the genres they pull from (punk rock, 60s/70s rock, pop punk, hardcore/melodic hardcore, soul, folk) are not popular in the mainstream.* They ARE generally associated with going to to drink and dance** and have a good time, but a random Tinder*** date would prolly be more interested in having a singalong to Sweet Caroline or Just a Friend than some hXc anthem about friendship and betrayal. anyways;

I can't speak for the rest of Bleachers catalog (the only other song i kno by them is a modern-rock-dance-electronic[???] kinda song, which doesn't bode well for my thesis if im being honest) but the song "Chinatown" does not have the problem the orgcore bands do. instrumentally the songs has more in common with electronica and hip hop than it does the Ramones and Lifetime. take a listen to top 40 from the past decade or so- our most popular pop songs take their instrumental cues from the same genres. Also, these are genres that people go out and party to. Now, this music on Chinatown is definitely more subdued and bleary-eyed than an LMFAO**** song or whatever, but that isn't the point. Bruce has soooo many songs like this- Lost in the Flood, Backstreets, Independence Day. But you already knew that, that last point there was just to answer the most pedantic person in the world. We've already covered the lyrical content, so bada bing bada boom. now you know why i think that Chinatown has more in common with Bruce Springsteen's heydey than org//springsteencore bands (59 Sound by The Gaslight Anthem, The Monitor by Titus Andronicus, Boys and Girls in America by the Hold Steady, Celebration Rock by Japandroids, On the Impossible Past by Menzingers. all fantastic albums. seriously some of my favorite albums of all fucking time right here)

hello! i finally actually got tumblr wow. no more just lurking on the web version and getting screenshots from friends :)

my main focuses for this blog will probably be: (1) music, (2) ace/aro spectrum self-discovery stuff, (3) general stuff about psychology, (4) personal art projects. i also tend to ramble about random things i discover about being a person so if that shows up here don't be surprised. not sure if people usually make different blogs for these things but we'll see i guess.

my life: i am a university student! i'm a cognitive science major with psychology and neuroscience concentration and a gender studies minor. almost done with my bachelors yippee! i also have a radio show where i'm a DJ and get to propaganda the masses (/lh) yay. probably implied there but i am over 18 (i am 20). i also reside in the US. i am also queer. i use they/them pronouns and identify somewhere within the non-binary umbrella. probably agender. i am also currently unpacking my sexuality but i believe i am pretty strongly on the aromantic spectrum. i have been finding myself identifying more as just ambivalent to like everything gender/sexuality of late. i am a floating orb in space time idk man. most of why i made this account is to find more aromantic education resources.

i am also autistic and adhd, along with some crock pot of other stuff like anxiety depression ocd cptsd, and potentially bpd (also unpacking that one) and probably other things i am not remembering. insomnia if that counts i have incredibly chronic insomnia. some day maybe i will share my sleep charts where we see my average sleep hours are like 3 per night it's a nice chart.
