Fat fuck Vulpes by yours truly, Blaze Lander. Inspired by the lovely drawing by @yourmateyoya ,egged on by @legions-top-dog , and because i force you to deal with all my shitty drawings, @noomycatz

Yes, once again, i have put too much effort into a shitpost. Roughly 2 hours as I reused a canvas on ibis paint for a 5th drawing lmao

Process below hehe i like to ramble

And just because i like to talk about my drawing process for characters with complex outfits, this is how my lobotomy brain does it:

First i do silly fun colored sketch. I use different colors to differentiate the "skeleton" from the, euh, fleshy bits, and the clothing. You can see lots of lines that would not be shown in the final product so it makes it confusing to look at.

Next i do a clean sketch.

This is where i clean up everything before doing the final lines. I use one color and a thin brush to make it easier to line over. Here i add any extra bits (like the top football armour) and "render the physics" as i call it, so properly drape cloth and the uhhh squish of stupid fat fuck vulpes' boobs and stomach. I also will balance the drawing here by flipping it and redrawing or using the drag tool.

Next is lining.

For this drawing, i used a 9.0 digital pen with a taper. Its my standard :þ. I kept my pen at the same size for this piece. Sometimes i line the outside darker to make the drawing stand out more. I decided not to as i wanted to give the drawing a more "serious" tone. (How serious can this be though lol-)You may notice on the arms little bits of the lines are missing, thats because i gave him some arm hair. I like make little details like that show over the lines. But since the one shading technique i used works with clipping masks, i had to but the arm hairs on a layer lower than the line art. Next is colour:

I colour in the drawing with midtones. Simple as. I tried to stick with warm colours besides his eyes, which are grey blue. Idc if they arent, im too lazy to google it. I mostly use flat colors but i did make his shirt a gradient. Next is do simple cell shading:

Depending on how i feel i shade with or without the colours in the back. I went with a sorta "non decrepit" light source here. Didnt want too much intensity. I used a deep marronish orange on a multiply layer on 45% opacity. Soft shading/lighting next:

I get intense with the soft shading. I use the airbrush with a deep maroon to add dark gradient and airbrush with a light pink to add a bit more depth. I usually use less light and more dark because im evil i like the intensity. I keep the layer the same amount of opacity and multiply it with the darks and soft light for the lights. Next are the shine highlights:

I use the dip pen hard with a taper to add light highlights of white on shiny bits like metal and eyes. I uses pure white, set the layer to 25% opacity, and use normal blending.

I also shade the lines because it makes the lines softer. I use a clipping layer on the line art, set the whole thing to a dark grey, and airbrush in darker and lighter parts. (I felt like a picture wasnt needed cuz its hard to notice.

For the background, i used a dark red i stole from the cell shaded layer, drew a vine pattern with the kaleidoscope ruler, and added a vignette. Vignettes are my cheat code for background hehe~ it makes the subject stand out while keeping suave, seriousness and formality. To make a subject pop out more, put the vignette behind the character but in front of the background. For more intensity but it on top of both.

Also- I usually draw with a level 10 stabilizer (i got shaky hands) but i drew with a 2 stabilizer so im surprised it came out so smoothly-

Also i gave him goggle tan lines because if i have to have them from playing tennis with sunnies, so does he.

(his go-to was the lightskin stare. he may have gotten slapped for it one too many times). stuff like that, however, never got him down. he's a bit of an optimist and keeps flirting with one lady after the next. eduardo has warned his brothers not to get to personally attached to a lady love, and at the start, bob has no qualms following that rule. he's just a guy wanting to have some fun. he's not insensitive, however. he's well mannered and wouldnt ever dare to overstep a woman's boundaries. unfortunately, he's still remains a fuckass goof, which in turn makes the women he converses with think he's being a pervert. his brothers like to tease him about his failed attempts every chance they get. bob talks big about having game, but rly all he's got are losses. sometimes, they'll even take bets! manuel would suggest that maybe bob will get lucky "this time around." eduardo, on the other hand, would merely mention how bob should just cut his losses. post-maria, bob is less pretentious and egotistical in regards to interacting with a pretty lady, or actually ANY lady in general. his love for maria runs deep, so there's no way he'd flirt with anyone that's not her. instead, he's polite! a total sweetheart just minding his own business. he's been a sweetheart all this time and maria's helped open that part of him even further. of course, in involving himself with someone that personally, he's disobeyed eduardo's rule. eduardo disapproves of his brother's romance with maria. strongly so! there comes a point where he slightly threatens bob to let go of his relationship, but it's not like bob would actually listen. it's useless talking sense to him when it comes to this, so all eduardo can really do is just constantly keep warning bob on how this is not good for either of the love birds. he outwardly makes his disapproval clear. always. manuel, on the other hand, doesn't seem to pay much mind to bob's relationship predicament and seems pretty supportive. he figures bob deserves a little good in his life, and if he's found someone to love, well, how can he refuse his own brother's happiness? (after all, maybe falling in love with maria might even change bob for the better...)

manuel: the most indifferent of the bunch. he's too busy chasing after his own highs to even think about women. it wouldn't ever occur to him to pursue a woman, he's just not cut out for that kind of stuff. he can recognize an attractive woman, but he'd much prefer to just chill and have a good time hanging with them. lamentably, first impressions with him go terribly wrong, so that kind of stuff would never really happen. people keep thinking he's just some crazy that has zero grip on reality! if anything, he ends up scaring the poor lady off. his brothers don't really tease him much about it, maybe a bit on the fact that he's never woo'd anyone, but they wouldn't linger too much on the subject. manuel often finds himself playing along with their teasing, opting to say that there's still time for him and joking that nobody could handle him as he ever so proudly gestures to himself. at the end of the day though, the brothers are very well aware that they are to remain single and eduardo bears a strong faith in manuel in that regard.

eduardo: oh, he's a complete MESS. growing up, he's taken on the role of looking after his brothers p seriously. he claims he's got no time for women, that they should all stay focused on what's what, and that he actually couldn't care less about a lady at all. but nah, don't fall for all that bull (with the exception of the "being focused" part), he's a wreck. he's just terrible with women! all women. he clams up, gets flustered as all hell, freezes on the spot, and then he books it with a beating hyperactive heart. him? alone with a woman? TALKING? no way! not him!! bob and manuel love putting him on the spot, and they love it even more when they see their dear grumpy older brother dash towards the nearest alleyway as soon as the lady opens her mouth to speak. he loves to joke about bob's poor game with the ladies, but when his own brothers turn the tables on him? he's such a sour puss and puts up an act. unfortunately for him, his brothers see right through it. when he's on the job and the situation requires him to interact with a woman, he's dead set on pulling through and hides it pretty well. his heart is beating a million times a minute, but duty calls and he's fixed on pulling through. this does not spare him from the teasing after the job is done though 😭

An Unhinged KH Rant That I Needed To Get Out of My Brain

here i am, once again, tortured by hypotheticals like- "what if kingdom hearts didn't suck?" and, "if i could rewrite kh, how and what would i cut or add?"

honestly,, my ideal kingdom hearts timeline is kh1, com, kh2, and days. that's literally it. games extending backwards or forwards from the end of kh2 (bbs & ddd kh3 unioncrossfuckinghell) really sapped the life from the series imo. in a better world, square and disney would've put kingdom hearts to rest by 2, and we would've all grown up and moved on with happy memories :))))

lol. but is it possible to extend the story of kh without draining it of all the magic, mystery, and charm established since kh1? by now i think we can all agree that here at the tailend of the timeline (kh3), this game has reduced itself to a fake deep shitpost soulless disney ad. :) -so, how could it be done anyway? ultimately, bbs would have to exist. you would need something to expand on the story's lore, and the lore of the keyblade and it's wielders is a prime target. i love and hate bbs; but i do think it really takes away from the charm of the keyblade itself and the mystery surrounding it. explains too much, if you will. lets not get into how the wayfinder trio spends their entire time talking about how much they gotta train and how their entire lives revolve around training and how wooden and stiff a vast majority of their interactions are eraqus dont even get me started he is so boring do not talk to me about the shitty gacha paytowin mobile game god help me also their shitty mark of mastery exam is with the fucking flying balls its so lame are you telling me this is what keyblade masters are capable of; what fucking happened to lingering will in kh2fm??? why cant we do any of that shit in bbs? wheres the fuckin keyblade transformations and capes in that game-

WHAT im saying is. disney shouldn't exist in kh just to be an ad. the reason why sora in kh1 came to the conclusion that MY FRIENDS ARE MY POWER, is because of the lessons he learned in each of the disney worlds up until his confrontation with riku. he literally explains his entire reasoning before he says the line- the disney plots mattered to sora's character development! by the end of the game, he became so much more wisened and was capable of butting heads with ansem who had studied all the esoteric makings of the universe and thought he knew where life began and eneded: darkness lol. but sora had come to a different conclusion: kingdom hearts is light!!! lmao!! it was an asspull, but shit. i could follow the line of logic well enough and it was cool and dramatic without insulting my intelligence.

MoM? lol? i like the guy, but hes an overpowered omnipotent all knowing god that is too strong to feasibly be beaten by anyone without a humongeous ass pull deus ex machina to solve the problem. like c'mon, dont act surprised when sora inevitably walks up to him, goes- "light light friendship heart. the future can be changed!" and then MoM is like, "ah fuck i guess you're right. i suppose i, the master of masters, the most powerful keyblade wielder ever, maybe even the progenitor and also seer of all time and existance who knows everything you're going to do before you're going to do it-- knows less than you. i was wrong all along. guess ill die!". don't act like it wont happen like that :))). you really think the kh writers are competent enough to handle a character as difficult to manage as MoM? he's a cool guy, but they fucked up trapping him in this garbage game.

lmao. but anyway, who knows who this hypothetical new ddd villian would be. but it would have to be some other dumbfuck obsessed with the (((power of kingdom hearts))). thats the name of the game after all. so really, what im actually saying is- kh3 shouldve been a whole new storyline with new villians and plot, rather than dredging up closed plotlines from the previous games. we shouldnt have to be waiting till mf kh4 just for a new story. im not playing that game btw. not unless square figures out how to make a game fun to play like its literal 20 yr old predecessors of kh1&2, while also not selling me the fixes to the game in a 40$ dlc. fuck you. Anyways, with that way more awkward than necessary start-off, thought of what is essentially a shitpost (sorry for cursing, I don’t know a better word that encapsulates it) I randomly thought of and after turning it over in my head a few times thought it’d apply to Alex and Mallory (might be a stretch?) so figured I’d share. Will say, uh, warning? It involves drilling a hole through your skull so idk do with that what you will.

For context, long story short, my train of thought led me on a random internet spiral (real fun just going where ever your brain takes you, highly recommend if you can spare like 4 hours and get overwhelmed trying to process everything) and I randomly remembered how in ye olden days there was a thing called trepanning (might’ve spelled it wrong but we die like men or something. Also I’m too lazy to check) which, to put it simply, was where humans would drill a hole in their skull to relieve pressure on the brain for headaches (and also something about evil spirits but hey humans were strange back then. Arguably still are) and surprisingly enough, it had a success rate of like 80 percent (78 in the iron ages whatever that means). Archeologists have literally found human skulls with holes in them. It’s crazy and also really fascinating how humans think of the most hecked up ways to cure the most menial things

Anyways, with that fun little history lesson/context out of the way, my brain immediately thought of a scenario where some type of immortal (actual immortal, vampire, uh…that’s all I got. Basically anyone who’s lived in ye olden days and survived to tell it in whatever modern period) is fed up and it’ll probably make more sense in the below format (maybe?):

Person A: *in some sort of pain from a migraine/headache or whatever* “Dude, all I’m asking for is an Advil”

Person B (the immortal, several thousand years older): “Jesus you’re pathetic. Back in MY day, if we had a headache, we got a hole drilled in our skull without anesthesia and look at me, I turned out swell, I’m not complaining. You can last a day without an Advil you weak willed sad sack of blood and bones. Besides you have an ice pack, isn’t that enough?”

Person A: “Yeah, okay boomer, you sure they didn’t drill TOO deep and take out some brain matter? I swear for someone supposedly so “old and wise” you’re actually an idiot. Get with the times, we have technology. Do you also still use leaves as toilet paper?”

Person B: “NOW THATS UNCALLED FOR YOU LITTLE **** AT LEAST I DIDN'T HAVE TAXES”

Okay I added the tax part because I thought it was funny, but you get the idea; Fight escalates way too much, yada yada so on so forth. I can definitely see that sort of scenario playing out with those two if the time period was like that. Definitely using it for my own characters as well though (new lore idea, one of them just has a hole in their skull)

Isn't it crazy how humans invented all these absurdly wild fixes for health issues? Like, who the heck came up with the idea that "Oh, you have a headache? Let's try drilling into your literally SKULL and see if it helps! Surely nothing bad could happen, right?"

It's insane to think about. Especially in the old days when advanced medical technology just wasn't there and people had to invent their own remedies on the spot.

And even in somewhat modern times people are investing new crazy ways to fix things. Like, did you know that if your finger is cut off and can't be reattached, surgeons can just amputate one of your toes and sew it onto your finger stump to give you a new usable finger? So you can literally have a toe on your hand that performs the same tasks your finger would have if it was still there (since fingers are vital for so many day-to-day activities, and toes aren't as useful so why not use them for spare parts? It sounds so weird to refer to them like that)

Makes me wonder who was the first person to think of these kind of solutions and them TRY them out on a person??

And to answer the last part of your ask, while reading the vampire story spinoff isn't technically nessarsary to understand 80% of the context of the crossover, but there are some MAJOR SPOILERS in the crossover if you don't read the spinoff first (very big exaggeration on 'major' -- the spoilers are huge). So if you're fine with spoilers you can read Villains and Vampires, but there will also be some missing context as well. So I'd highly recommend reading the spinoff first (only if you want though, of course).

My new fixation is bad poetry

and its making me think about how to define art and poetry and what makes poetry good etc but I can't go back and find my sophomore english teacher and rant about it so I'm making it yalls problem. but mr c if ur in here pls read also what do you mean thats one way to skin a hamster. thats not how it goes what are you talking abou

first of all, ive finally figured out my current definition of art: records of the human experience or just experience in general. so yes paintings and poetry but ALSO tiktoks or a decorated room. idc if you think its stupid there are remnants and references to human experiences ALL OVER those. so basically if it left a mark at any point, its art. maybe not always "good" or skilled, deep, etc but it is art (to me)

secondly, what is poetry? the same sophomore english teacher asked this at the beginning of a unit and the class was struggling. every time we listed a requirement for poetry he went "is that necessary though?". "it has to rhyme" "does it?" "it has to be deep" "does it" "it needs to have words!" ".....does it?" man idk i was 15 and sleep deprived

but now im less sleep deprived and i have an answer. I would consider poetry a spectrum (but not necessarily flexible. i wouldn't say you have to bend it's meaning to make something fit) but also playing with language, to be playful with it and have fun with it, to use it as a toy in a way. using language in a way different from its intended use. so writing a personal narrative about a deep topic? not poetry. maybe you had fun with it but thats still its main use. to make words rhyme, to alliterate, to use words just plain wrong? probably poetry. its still a spectrum. and im aware this means that saying something like "yew nork/glass fork" would count as a shitpost and poetry while "Ill love you and ill never stop loving you" doesnt and um i dont care i said what i said--

this would also mean most books and speeches would have little bits of poetry in there and i stand by that too. maybe the entire thing isnt poetry but bits of it could count. i came to this conclusion on the meaning of poetry because i saw too many "aesthetic" free verse poems that were just. tweets. you coulda just made it a sentence and posted it for free. there was no attempt to play with language. you just used it the way you were supposed to. its just a quote.

im definitely going to add more onto this about what i think poetry critics miss sometimes and why formal teaching of poetry is flawed but not all in one post bc its a lot. However i have one last concept to attempt to define. this one has always made me the angriest

GOOD VS BAD POETRY/ART

where do i even start. maybe we should just get rid of these terms completely and make people say what they mean. is it good or did he just use literary devices correctly. is it good or is it genuine. is it good or is it deep. is it good or is it entertaining. is it good or do you like it. is it good or is it popular. is it good or is it complex. is it good or is it creative.

ive been saying since i was i was maybe 12-13 that even though good does not have a solid stable meaning, there is still a sense of what good is. We know what its supposed to be. classical music, Edgar Allen Poe, Da Vinci are good. sure most people barely know or understand or care about these things other than one piece of work they can recall because they had to look at it in highschool that time and the teacher seemed to appreciate it. and we know that reality tv, messily hand drawn animals, and half assed near unintelligible tiktok skits are bad.

but....wait we like those though

ive come to the conclusion that while still shifting, "good"'s meaning in scholarly settings tends to come down to whatever those somethingth century european dudes and what the modern smart looking guys deemed intelligent. and in colloquial settings, what everyone likes.

many pretentious types will say rap is bad and the subject matter is crude and the same way im sure some old european guy would have said or has said traditional african music is too weird and primitive to be respectable.

now. i dont really listen to rap intentionally. if its in there its in there. I used to be pretentious and after changing i just never got too deep into it BUT. i listened to a Nicki Minaj song one time just to see and yeah it was not family friendly but dear god was it clever. the way she'd drop the most genius alliteration-personification-allegory-englishvocabword and then just keep it moving like im not gonna have to stop and ponder the seven layer reference to bedtime hanky panky. its smart. its creative. its complex. and so many rappers can write about the same topics over and over and still come back with a new way of phrasing it. its genuinely impressive

but so many still wouldn't consider it good.

the term good when it comes to art, while having somewhat of a meaning is still useless. make your own personal standards for what is important for you to see in art. its kind of silly for us to collectively decide "okay this art? we like it. this is good" and then go to a different community (age group, culture, race) and go "were going to show you the new gold standard for good! its what we liked! you dont do it like this?? then yours is bad!". historically thats never been a good move

what i find important with poetry (and by poetry i mostly mean song writing bc i dont even read poetry like that) tends to be "is it a poem? or a sentence/paragraph". everything other than that just has to do with my taste and what I prefer in the moment. and it goes the same for everyone else. there's no universal good or bad with art. its just what a dominant or culturally respected group of people said was important.

TL;DR: i think anything that records an experience is art. i think toying with language mostly makes it poetry, and i think its weird people create little boxes for good and bad and make everyone else adhere to it
