MATH. I have a love and hate relationship math and I know everyone can relate to this.

The part of mathematics that causes me mental agony is the arithmetic part. Not that I can't do it more like I don't want to do this and will not even if my life depended on it.

Algebra is beautiful. The reason I think it makes more sense to me is because it's very pattern-associated. The letter co-efficient groups the numbers into little families. Simple rules and simplification after that.

Trigonometry is great. It's difficult at first but then again it is a bit pattern-associated. I think the names and theta make it very fancy. The fact that we got a whole branch of mathematics out of a right-angled triangle is amazing.

Calculus can be tough at the beginning but I feel like its pretty decent. Its kind os a whole new algebra in my opinion lol

I am still around I promise.

I kept hitting some information snags that I finally got ahold of the early issues of Spider-Man 2099 which I am finding very helpful! That said, my stories like Come a Little Closer (CaLC) and Closer Still (CS) are what i consider to be au/canon, in that it is set in the time of Spiderverse movies, and using *some* of the comics to fill in the backstory of Miguel and even Peter B and MJ.

So, something that I want to explain for my story as far as Miguel’s background that differs from his comic.

In my story, he grew up Downtown. My prior research I couldn’t find out where he grew up but I decided for personal reasons to make it that way. But in the comics he doesn’t go to Downtown until he’s Spider-Man. The thing about Downtown is that the Spiderverse movie has Downtown completely cut off from the topside, it is more of a literal underbelly of Nueva York. In the comics Nueva York just kept building vertically so if you were to fall you’re definitely dead, it’s a loooong way down with no divider. And the original buildings of New York are Downtown in the comics.

So what I’ve imagined is that Downtown Spiderverse movie wise (and my headcanons for my stories) has multiple levels, at least two especially with the freeway going to the Moon running through Downtown. The bottom level is the worst, but Miguel and his family grew up in the most upper level of Downtown since his father George worked for Alchemax (but not high up in rank it seemed like to me since there’s a flashback of him fixing a broken camera on the street). I’m hoping to cover that in the story CaLC or CS but we’ll see.

I know someone once asked me if Xina was going to show up in CaLC. At first I wasn’t sure where to fit that in but I believe I have an idea so MJ will be meeting Xina at some point. lol.

EGP (Emergency Girlfriend Program) I wanted a better feel of Dana. She’s definitely middle class/higher class kind of woman and grew up in a better childhood (so far in my comic readings). She offered to get Rapture for Miguel so he’d stop hurting - that sounds like she has money to do that. She definitely has trouble *seeing* Miguel for who he is. Or understanding where he’s coming from I suppose. Like the whole thing about Miguel crying at his father’s funeral. She thought it was because he cared he was gone. But it was that Miguel was angry he died before going through the trials of getting old. She’s oblivious in that regard but I think it’s due to their different upbringings.

So I’m still doing some reading, taking some notes.
