Anyway, smth ive noticed is how... little time vivzie actually spends on writing or characterizing or fleshing out her characters.

Which has to be the weirdest thing so far bc every writer and artist ive met agree that its the best part of making an oc! Its so fun to think of backstories and tie that into their current personality and generally just figuring out random details to get to know your characters!

Like, my ocs are my best friends, i know everything abt them from their trauma and childhoods, to their favourite food and music.

But time and time again she proves that her characters are at best acquaintances... the fandom fleshes out the characters so well and with so much love and care and thought that vivzie herself cant do and its just sad.

Not even mentioning the hundreds of retcons and how characters will just change personality randomly or act out of character which results in the work feeling like a fanfic of itself. (Ironic considering some fanfics have better and more consistent characterisation)

It feels like shes making it up as she goes, instead of having an actual plan. Just shoving random ideas she likes or picks up from the much more creative fandom into the 2 shows without actually stopping and thinking abt the consequences or implications.

Theres so many decisions shes made that irk me so bad... the ideas individually have potential but they either dont fit the show or have to make huge retcons and result in the plot not making any sense.

Also, ngl but she has the worst case of tell dont show ive ever seen my god 😭😭 like... you realise you have to show things instead of just fucking singing it or having a character say it??? Or is that another thing that the fandom has to do so they can convince themselves that the show has good characters??

Atp idk how to salvage the show... i keep finding more and more plotholes and unless i literally turn my brain off and only focus on haha funny dick joke or pwetty colors, these questions keep popping into my head making it a painful unenjoyable experience.

Again, if the fandom has to justify your bad nonsensical hypocritical worldbuilding then you failed. Massively.

And it’s honestly like..kinda funny too that people who have their own OC’s can flesh them out and deep dive into their arcs/backstories ect, yet a professional showrunner who’s had these characters for YEARS can’t even give the majority of her characters flaws or quirks, or even consistency, same goes for Helluva Boss.

Viv is a really good example at letting inspired writers know what not to do when making a story and characters so at least they have that lol.

theres a good amount of negativity going around for sotm (also coming from me) and it's not bad criticism but I thought I'd just talk a bit about why it's good. even if you dont like the mimic this is the story now and for what the story is this game is really good for it. it's going to finally fully introduce the mimic and incorporate it into the story, no matter the contents of the game. the tagline is literally "you have to understand the past to see the future". this game is going to be really good for the future of the story

and also the franchise in general. this game is basically confirmation that story is not going to be locked behind multiple books and thousands of words that 80% of fans wont read. they're going to tell it in the games so it's not inaccessible

as someone who's favorites are Gregory vanessa etc, it's been discouraging being a fan since sb and watching them not get focused on much, but I know that the current story direction needs this game and it's good for everyone involved. if you dont like the mimic you wont like this game, but you'll probably like what comes after it. itll hopefully enhance the story and make future games better with a better villain

and also in a kinda harsh way of wording it itll 'get its backstory out of the way' so we can move onto other things. 2 releases have been spent introducing it including sotm so I'm glad itll finally be ready to just be in the story already. then theyll finally have room to actually focus on their other characters that are in need of screentime like Gregory and vanessa, maybe even plots like ggy or more vanny exploration

A court of frost and starlight is (subjectively) the worse book in the sjm world. Especially when it comes to mental illness

The first half of chapter 11 is fucking disgusting. I think i geniunely hate sjm a little after this chapter.

Rhysand is literally kicking a man while hes down. Tamlin is depressed. Hes not taking care of himself or his home and is clearly at rock bottom. His home is empty and as stated at the end of the chapter theres no wards around his manor to protect him

"But as I winnowed away, the dark wind ripping through me, a strange sort of hollowness took root in my stomach. Tamlin didn't have shields around the house. None to prevent anyone from winnowing in, to guard against enemies appearing in his bedroom and slitting his throat. It was almost as if he was waiting for someone to do it."

I can quote the entire chapter to point and say HEY THIS IS FUCKING GROSS WRITING! She worte a clearly depressed and ill man but hey! its okay rhysand said really bad shit to him because we LOVE rhysand in this house! to qoute feyre hes usually the bigger male so hes entitled to a slipup!

except hes not. thats not a slip up thats purposefully trying to trigger a man you know has anger issues so you have an excuse to kill him. That is quite literally what kids used to do to me when i was younger, thats being a fucking bully. Rhysand is not a good person, quite the opposite actually. Rhysand also states that "he had been given everything and squandered it." which is not completely true! (Given tamlins backstory and how he feels about being high lord so *loud incorrect buzzer*) Rhysand is an extremely unreliable narrator. Example from this chapter? Rhysand asks where "his dear friend" lucien is and Tamlin tells him hes hunting and the following happens

“Hunting for our dinner.” “No taste for such things these days?” Tamlin’s eyes remained dull. “He left before I was awake.” Hunting for dinner- because there were no servants here to make food. Or buy it. I couldn’t say I felt bad for him. Only for Lucien, once again stuck with being his crony.

Where did this come from? Tamlin said lucien left before he was awake. He didnt ask him to do that.

Rhysand proceeds to purposefully say stuff to make Tamlin angry so they can fight and is surprised when Tamlin just tells him to leave. Then chapter 23 does nothing to help this. Wow tamlin has completely isolated himself after rhysand fucked him up more. But its fine cause rhysand made him dinner and got people to patrol the border.

It really hurts. I have so many of the same mental health issues as Tamlin. Seeing sjm do nothing with this but add more stigma just sucks. Yes Tamlin fucks up in acomaf (even if i cant fully comprehend that one sjm) but that isn't excuse to do this horrific mental health shit.

I am open to discussion about this more! if we have opposite opinions that okay! if you love this series to death that's great for you! as long as your at least somewhat polite I'm chill with it. If your rude i will be mean on the internet.

Hello! I'm writing a wattpad fanfic about Katsuki Bakugou x female reader. the fic is called arachnoid 🥹 and theres currently only about 15-16 parts. right now, im writing about the sports festival and i already have a good idea of what im going to do for the internships. but to give you a better idea of what the fic is about ill give a little summary for you 🖤🕷️

Starting off with your quirk!!

Your quirk is basically like spiderman 2099 & miles morales combined snd some extra powers i added. If you don't know them from atsv, ill give you a quick rundown of some of the abilities they have !!

So starting off with some basic spiderman powers. Peter parker has the ability to generate webs from his wrists, and so do you. But in the story, theres a little twist. You can obviously swing around and hold massive amounts of weight, but you can also form objects with a lot of firmly packed webs. It takes a lot of energy out of you though.

Spiderman also has the skill of sticking to walls and ceilings. Or just any surface that gravity doesnt allow the normal human being to stay upright on. So of course you have that included with your quirk !!

Let's not forget about the spidey sense. Spidey sense is basically just a 6th sense for telling if danger is near, and where it is coming from. But in my fic, when youre either overwhelmed and worked up or really focused on something, your brain kind of turns off the ability to sense danger. But farther into the story you'll be able to multitask.

Okay moving onto the powers you have that are similar to Miles Morales! So we know that he can turn camouflage or turn invisible, and that he has electricity powers. Now you might not have the electricity ability he has, but if you hold your breath, you can turn invisible snd camouflage into any surface.

Okay couple more things about the benefits of your quirk im pretty sure. Venom immobilization. I added the power to immobilize an opponent by protracting your fangs and emitting an immobilizing venom into someone. Yes you have to bite them for it to work, and yes it can be inconvenient. 😭

Next is how you can generate 6 extra limbs and 6 extra eyes, giving you 8 of each. So like an actual spider, you have the skill to grow six extra arms out of your shoulder blades like Shoji :) (he's such a sweetheart i love him) but also you can grow 8 eyes to enhance your range if vision and also the ability of night vision, since spiders are mainly nocturnal.

Okay i think thats it for your quirk but now its time for backstory !!

Basically the fic stated that you have an identical twin brother, Koji L/n, and both parents present. It starts off with it being the day of your brother's birthday party. Your neighbors down the street, The Bakugou family, show up to introduce themselves.

Shortly after the party ended, your brother Koji went missing, then was pronounced deceased and left a cold case. Your mother thought another baby would be enough to distract her from the loss of her child. It ended up adding more pressure onto her so she left.

You were forced into growing up too fast having to raise your little sister to the best of your ability as your dad slowly turned into a deadbeat. As you were about to finish your last year of middle school, a biy introduced himself to you and he ended up being your boyfriend for a short amount of time.

He scarred and traumatized you for life and you promised yourself to not show vulnerability and naivety towards anyone ever again, until a special someone weaseled back into your life.

that's where the list comes in. so, i was talking to C (my boyfriend) and I brought up F. and then i made a list of five men from camp on a scale of fuckability. C was not on the list, and for some reason that upset him? i mean, i love him but other guys are more attractive! (F was at 3, by the way)

also, as it turns out, C knew about the fact that i've been cheating on him for a lot of our relationship (not recently though! nobody likes me except him for some reason) and he seemed fine with it but also kind of upset. also his friends hate me so theres that.

i really don't see why i could be the asshole here, but C is being really weird and F hates me now! what did i do, am i the asshole?

had a dream that there was Zombieland 3 except it was about two kids we've never seen before (except one of them we had seen before, she just got. inserted into the movies and we gave her backstory). i was the main character and it was all from my perspective, and then my best friend was a girl from my school. also our classmates were people by my school and we were in my school (we were both 12 for some reason too)

it started in the future, except also my dream hadnt decided to be zombieland yet so it didn't have zombies. i was walking through the streets and meeting the actors of the Comedian Harmonists, idk we were friends for some reason?? not sure, but Sean was definitely there at least

and this is when it's revealed that i am a child murderer. and i go to my parents to do something like ask for money so i can murder more children (they know im a child murderer and they dont support it but they know i love it do they actually do support it i guess??) and then it transforms into high school (btw until this point it was black and white but not anymore)

anyway, so im 12 and it's my first day of school. my best friend is there! we both have our favourite plushies with us, as always. now, at 12, we are still both child murderers.

so we go to classes, we have fun, a few teachers know that we're child murderers but they support us and wont tell anyone (???), and yknow we have a pretty nice time!

anyway. then people start coming in and this is when my brain decides that this is a zombie movie. cause at some point theres someone spinning around on the floor and theyre trying to bite people and theyre a zombie? so that's. neat. and eventually me and my friend have to evacuate the building and so do everyone else and it ends with us trying to get through all the people. it's also revealed to be a movie when i pause it on my laptop (i was watching it on youtube) and it says 'Zombieland 3'. so yeah, that was a dream!

yes!! its not fully figured out yet but the main two stories of my ocverse are centered around an eye necklace that pretty much posesses the person who wears it. the grey in one of my recent drawings is also connected because the necklace basically sucks the color out of the wearer (theres going to be some cool explanation for this at some point i hope, lol)

the first out of the two stories is when the necklace gets discovered, and the second story (which i call the main story because i talk about it more lol) is when we see someone actually being posessed by the necklace.

....i also just like drawing eyes, that would be the short explanation lol

also, the reason theres more eye stuff now is because im finally forcing myself to figure out what the necklace's actual backstory is, so its even more on my mind than usual. basically rn im just trying to like make that part of the story make sense 😅

My personal thoughts/nitpicks for each character.

Awase - Honestly I have nothing to nitpick about his character itself (other than his lack of style) but I dont like how the fandom doesn't acknowledge how hard he has worked to become a pro (he litterally almost died for momo during the summer camp attack)

Sen - i have nothing to nitpick exsept I wish we could see his love for photography a little bit in the show instead of just having horikoshi saying he likes photography yk

Kamakiri - i dont like how he doesnt have a cannon backstory or cannon reasoning for being as loud and brash as he is. Bakugou and Monoma have their reasons for being dicks so I wanna know his.

Kuroiro - i have nothing to nitpick because he is perfect. (Seriously tho, i love his design, character, personality and quirk and it all fits him so well. I just wish we could see more of him)

Kendo - im not sure what it is about her character but theres something there I dont really like. I cant tell what it is tho so I cant nitpick it rip. Its been bothering me since ive first started bnha.

Kodai - my only nit pick with her is I have a hard time writing for her sometimes but thats about it. Shes kinda boring and she has no hard set personality traits so i struggled to wrjte her in the past

Komori - the only thing I have to say for her is we dont see her as much as we should in the show but that could be said about all of class 1B.

Shiozaki - i actually didnt like her when I started this blog and was originally gonna exclude her from the blog because she made me uncomfortable but the more i have written for her the more she grew on me so now I dont mind her.

Shishida - hes kinda boring to me but I like the memes that make him seem like the class dog instead of just a student yk? I saw someone say hes scared of a hairdryer before lmao. Not rlly a nitpick but idc

Shoda - hes kinda basic to me all around. His cannon personality, likes, quirk, ect. Its all just kinda bland in comparison to most of the characters in the show (especially since this show prides itself on unique characters)

Pony - i dont like how she stabbed ojiro in season 5 or 6 I forgot which one. But yea thats about it. Shes pretty fun for me to write sometimes especially when I talk about her being American. But yea all i really have to nitpick is her stabbing ojiro

Tsubaraba - his quirk and personality is more on the unique side when it comes to this show (considering most of the side characters are the quiet/shy type.) But his design isnt anything special. The only way I can tell kosei apart from a random background character is his eyes. If his back is turned I have no idea who he is lmao

Tetsutetsu - in my heart those things around his eyes is a mask. I dont care that the author said they're eyelashes, its a mask. (Same thing with tokoyami having hair and not feathers...)

Tokage - shes cool and all but she is so fucking hard to write (especially since im trying to not dumb the characters down to one or two specific details) but her entire wiki is just 'emotional girl that likes dinosaurs, she kinda smart too' yk?

Manga - i love him and there is nothing to nitpick because he is perfect. He has one of the more unique personalities and quirks out of everyone in the show (in my opinion) and it fits him very well.

Honenuki - i dont like his design all that much. I like the mutation and his quirk is ok in my opinion but I dont like most other parts of his physical design.

Bondo - i like him but ive struggled to write for him a lot of the time because hes kinda boring and lacks any unique personality traits. Talking to him would be like talking to a wall but idc i live him anyways.

Monoma - his reasoning for being a dick to all of class 1-A is better than bakugous reason for being a dick but people excuse bakugous behavior but not monomas for some reason. Not really a nitpick on him but oh well.

Reiko - all I have to say about her is her personality is a little hard for me to write sometimes. Maybe because i dont know as much about her as I do some of the other students but she lacks emotion sometimes.

Rin - he is called the martial arts hero so where tf is the martial arts? I wanna see rin do martial arts in the way weve seen uraraka do martial arts but we dont get that >:( also there is so little content for him it actually drives me insane.

And to answer the fanfiction question-

I have yet to do any actual fanfiction simply because I dont think I would be good at it. I have creative ideas and i can put it into words until a certain point but I am unable to drag things out properly and put proper care into longer writings due to impatience and my lack of confidencein my longer writings. I might think about writing short oneshots for charachters in the future but for now I will stick with headcanons :P

I AM LITERALLY ON MY KNEES FOR THAT SHIP. EVERY SCRAP OF SIMBARB CONTENT I CAN FIND, I WILL DEVOUR IT LIKE THERES NO TOMORROW. DOESNT MATTER IF ITS FLUFF, ANGST, OR HECK EVEN SMUT. I LIVE FOR SIMBARB. THERES NOTHING ELSE THAT WILL SATISFY ME MORE THAN SIMBARB. LIKE THE SHIP IS JUST PERFECT IN EVERY WAY POSSIBLE. AND BOTH BARBATOS AND SIMEON ARE PERFECT AS WELL. I think i went a little off course.. oh and i read this simbarb fanfiction once and now ive created a whole au with lore and backstory with Simeon and someone else (which can technically be MC but the actual MC also exists in this au). And i really wanna talk about it to someone, but there's no one who wants to listen, but you're now back, and im happy so maybe ill talk about it to you if youre interested!

You are so right for this. Those two are not only my favorites, but they are probably my favorite ship (I don't know if I've made that clear in my writing, but I feel like there have at least been hints). We are on the same boat here (I apologize for the pun, but I'm sending it out into the world anyway). I am right there with you. They are precious individually and together. I generally am not a touchy/hugging person, so I wouldn't want to squeeze them, but I would make them a delicious bowl of soup, give them pats on the head, and tell them that they're both good boys.

Especially as a fellow SimBarb lover, you are welcome talk about your AU here! Also, in general, I love reading about how people view character relationships (romantic, platonic - in any form, really).

While I'm here, I would like to fuel the SimBarb love with a few thoughts of my own it won't be too much because I'm going to head to bed soon, so my brain is in wind down mode.

Okay, so I lied to myself about the "a few" and rambled for 10 bullet points, so more under the cut:

Canonically, Barbatos and Simeon just often find themselves on outings together. Barbatos phrases it like it's unintentional; it just happens; they just have accidental dates. Well, considering that Barbatos seems to always have good luck, maybe there's a reason he keeps finding himself on outings with Simeon. Wouldn't it be lucky if he happened to run into a certain handsome angel while he was out?

I think it took Simeon longer to realize he liked being around Barbatos than it took Barbatos to notice how much he enjoyed spending time with Simeon. Simeon probably used Luke as a kind of affection proxy for a long time. A lot of "Luke really likes Barbatos," and "Barbatos is so sweet to Luke. It really warms my heart." Really? Is it just Luke who likes Barbatos?

They probably pick up groceries a lot together, and they both like to menu plan as they browse the markets, so they end up taking ideas from each other. Sometimes they'll plan to cook the same dish on the same night. It makes them kind of giddy. Even though they don't share meals often, when they cook the same thing on the same night, it almost feels like they're getting to eat together.

Whenever Luke goes to Barbatos for cooking/baking lessons, Barbatos tries to ensure they have leftovers for Luke to take back to Simeon. Additionally, Barbatos is especially motivated to help the final product turn out good (outside of just wanting Luke to learn and succeed) because he knows it's a reflection of his own skills and he wants to impress Simeon.

Also, I could see Barbatos sending Luke back home with two bouquets of flowers (especially edible flowers and sometimes herbs) from his garden. One is for Luke, but the other one, Barbatos will casually suggest that Luke "give it to Simeon, if you'd like."

These two both love taking care of others. Can you imagine how often they just try to out-spoil the other? I think it would occasionally end up in arguments that are basically just "sit down, and let me take care of you for a change."

Barbatos would be the least comfortable being taken care of because he's a demon. Being doted on by an angel. That's weird, right? He feels incredibly unworthy.

These two could flirt back and forth so well.

Barbatos would get extremely flustered if Diavolo commented on how wonderful it is to see a respectable demon such as Barbatos and a regarded angel like Simeon getting along so well, and that it gives him hope for the future between the Devildom and the Celestial Realm.

This is kind of angsty, and I don't remember if Barbatos and Simeon actually met before the war, but I have this thought (maybe a future story idea if I decide to lean into ships or something) that while Diavolo was enamored with Lucifer, Barbatos took a liking to Simeon. Actually, it was initially just an interest in the angel whose cooking skills could almost compare with his own. Then he realized how similar they were and how well they would get along. I just imagine younger Barbatos thinking hoping that when the war came around, Simeon would fall with Lucifer. Selfishly, he wanted the opportunity to even just be around Simeon. When that didn't happen, Barbatos was silently crushed but he carried on. He held his excitement the entire time when he first heard that Simeon would be one of the exchange students, and he was even more delighted when Simeon treated him with kindness.

Backstory lore dump i guess, i did not proofread this so if you see errors no you fucking didnt

You get Elliot because I like Elliot rn. Elliot was inspired by pirates, he even used to be one as he was adopted by humans. Hence why he parrot esque hair, bone appendages, and the flying dutchman colored magic. Very pirate stuff.

So a dragon socialized as a human and not a dragon makes Elliot incredibly different. He hadn't even seen another dragon until at port one day. Elliot being naive and dumb assumes the best intentions of this dragon when he approaches him and asks him for courtship. Elliot laughs and tells him to come along to sea.

This relationship is not good, his lover is a serial cheater. And as Elliot stumbles upon more and more books about dragons he learns he is an awful mate by raging beast standards too. Unfortunately, this revelation comes waaaayyyy too late. Especially after they both have joined souls.

When dragons have a strong connection with each other, they can form a bond that links their souls as one. This also allows dragons to draw power and magic from each other. It is supposed to connect dragons for eternity.

Since its so serious when a soul link is broken the dragon who broke it usually won't live more than a week, unless they have a new person lined up or go back to their ex. Obviously many would rather die, including Elliot, who strategically breaks the bond when they are at port and flees. He walks the coast out of town for days, completely drained and expecting to die.

That is until he is pummeled by Baron, who thinks he's on his sand to threaten his spouses or rob him.

Elliot lays on his then womanly charm, effectively pacifying Baron as he does appear very weak and not threatening to Barons testosterone.

It's actually Neve who whacks Baron on the head and suggests letting Elliot inside for a meal. As an apology for Baron pouncing him when Elliot technically wasn't even on Baron's property.

Elliots not dumb, he knows there's 3 dragons here at Baron's manor, that means at least one of them is single. (Right?)

And decidedly, that must be Neve as Neve keeps awing over him and calling him cute and masculine (tehe). The masculine part wasn't something Elliot usually heard but Neve is really good at picking up human gender. Baron is not and keeps accidentally misgendering him the whole dinner. Neve corrects him like the true MVP. Baron is confused but at least apologetic.

Dragon gender is based on wealth and who can birth babies. Since theres a lot of intersexuality in dragons the gender works on a gradient. Many to establish one's social hierarchy.

Neve eventually works the truth out of him, so Elliot suggests maybe he could form a soul link with him, or any other single dragon so he doesn't have to die right now.

Baron is annoyed with that. So he asked him. "So some lowly scum tricked you into a soul link and you couldn't break that one because you're weak, yet you expect to break another one with my spouse?"

Elliot obviously flustered doesn't say much as Lezna scolds him. Lezna doesn't think it's a bad idea for Baron to make it and then later break when Elliot is back in good health. Baron's never been one to turn down someone in need no matter how pompous he is. So he offers to make and break the pact for Elliot.

Elliot is of course thankful and spends every waking moment training to get stronger. He even tells Baron what the humans are up to now and explains some of their customs more in depth. He eventually gets around to explaining their gender and how he wants to be a man. It all kind of clicks for Baron after he tells Elliot he's a dragon not a human and Elliot reexplains. Baron tries to equate that to his own dragon gender and that helps him understand. It finally clicks for Baron that it's not Elliot wanting to change just his social status but also his physical traits. He enthusiastically tells Elliot that there's an ancient witch who knows a potion for making humans male. So if he can find him then it might work on Elliot!

This begins Elliots adventuring. He does find the witch, unfortunately the potion is much to weak and its affects are temporary , BUT he's able to bring the potion back to Lezna. They tamper with it ad it effects gradually help masculinize Elliot and keep him masculinized as long as he regularly ingests it. A lot of his adventuring is a conquest for gender affirming care.

He really does love adventuring and eventually decides to open an adventurers guild.

Also. Everyone kind of justtttt forgets about breaking the pact. Baron especially because he's afraid that after Elliot won't want to remain friends with him.

And y'know Elliot knows how awful it is to break a bond. He wouldn't want to do that to Baron. In fact. He should get strong enough so he can do it. That would be the right thing to do.

Lezna and Neve aren't about to remind amyone either. Especially Neve who is head over heels with adoration for Elliot. Then again everyone is, Neve just extra.

Some extra fun facts~

•Elliot is an amputee, he uses both mechanical and magical aids interchangeably to help him walk.

•He is Mzamaki's guild master, but he also attends the college that Mzamaki's is a professor at.

•The beads he wears on his hair are for each of his spouses. White for Neve, pink for Baron, and bluish black for Lezna
