After trying Magit for a bit, I ended up doing my own simple+minimal thing for Git in Emacs, built on a generic function I wrote. The only piece I'm using from Magit is the with-editor package.
I wrote a function which pops open a buffer to run a command. The buffer is named after the full command. I can supply context which is added to the buffer name after the command, or override the name entirely. The buffer is created if it doesn't already exist. By "pops open", I meant the same way that for example the help buffer is popped open, with `pop-to-buffer` - I call it `pop-to-command`.
(I actually have two variants of the function - one runs the command in a raw terminal emulator buffer, and one runs it in an Eshell buffer with terminal emulation. Both use the Eat terminal emulator package. I use the Eshell+Eat variant for this, because it keeps my keybinds+UX more consistent+ergonomic, has TRAMP integration, and lets the with-editor package do its magic.)
(Because I'm using Evil for the greater efficiency+ergonomics of vi-style modal keybindings/UX, I wrap the base function to add a modal nicety: When the command starts, the buffer is put into vi "insert" state (or the "Emacs" state in the case of no-Eshell-just-Eat variant), so that I can interact directly with the command. When the command terminates, the buffer is automatically put into vi "normal" state, so that I automatically return to the keybinds I use for switching/manipulating Emacs buffers, windows, etc.)
I then have a wrapper function to run Git commands with that pop-to-command function, using the current buffer's Git repository as the context.
So let's say I'm editing a file inside a Git repo I have cloned at `~/code/my-cool-project`, I save some changes, and I'm ready to stage them. I hit a keybind, and Emacs pops a buffer named `*eshell: git add -p (~/code/my-cool-project)*`. Since it's running `git add -p`, I am just using the normal Git CLI to review and stage hunks. Same knowledge and muscle memory that works outside of Emacs. Same diff view as outside of Emacs, which would be worse than Magit but lets me reuse better-than-Magit diff improvements like git-delta and difftastic. In the very rare event that I need the granularity of the "e" action in `git add -p`, that opens in my current Emacs instance thanks to with-editor. (Naturally I also have keybinds for the "-p" versions of git checkout, git reset, and git stash.)
When I'm ready to commit, I hit another keybind, and Emacs pops a buffer named `*eshell: git commit (~/code/my-cool-project)*`. Thanks to with-editor, that immediately opens the commit message for editing in Emacs itself, in the same window. When I'm done editing, my normal "save and close" keybind makes the commit - I can also quit without saving to abort the commit. (I monkey-patched with-editor using Emacs' "advice" so that if I save and then quit as two separate Emacs commands, the change is still left saved in Git's COMMIT_EDITMSG file even though the commit isn't made, as would normally happen with any other editor.) Naturally, I have a separate keybind for `git commit --amend`.
Magit automatically always shows the staged diff in a separate buffer while writing/amending a commit. I don't normally need that, but it's really nice to have when I do. I get this on-demand because I have two more keybinds: one for `*eshell: git diff (<current-repo>)*` and one for `*eshell: git diff --staged (<current-repo>)*`. Or sometimes I just leave the `*eshell: git add -p (...)*` buffer open until I'm done commiting.
Of course I also have keybinds for other git commands that I regularly want: git log [-p], git reflog, git pull, git push [--tags] [--force], and so on. Anything I use often enough to get annoyed by the handful of keystrokes it takes me to open Eshell and execute that command from a fuzzy-find on my shell history. (The only Git operation I don't handle this way is blame - I use the built-in vc-annotate for that, configured to wrap lines instead of truncating. The indirection of Eshell-running-Git-running-a-pager doesn't bother me with diffs and logs, but it bothers me in blame due to the different patterns in reading/navigation/search/copying. Also the color-coding by age is nice, and the step-back-through-blame-history feature is one I find valuable when I have to do code archeology to figure out the cause or intent of code which doesn't make sense.)
I have a nice keybind for `quit-window` in these run-one-command buffers which doesn't make sense in normal Eat and Eshell buffers. (Because I'm using Evil, this nice keybind is the mere "q" in vi "normal" state, which overlaps wonderfully with the "q" that you get in the default `less` pager when doing `git log` and so on. So for example I just hit "q" once to quit the log command and once more to quit the window - so I keep the benefits of totally decoupled composition where these pieces don't have to understand/track/assume anything about each other, while still getting something so ergonomic and intuitive that I never notice any delays, mistakes, or cognitive load.)
For me this approach covers basically all the value that I would get from Magit, without any of the rare-but-annoying latencies that I sometimes hit with Magit (or common-and-annoying latencies that I always hit with Magit when using Emacs in Termux on my Android phones). I sorta, theoretically, very very very rarely, miss the ability to just put my cursor on a diff hunk and stage/unstage it with a key stroke, or drill down into the diff for just one commit when already looking at a log. But I basically don't miss it - because it would only save me a few seconds and a handful of keystrokes. I don't miss Magit automatically reusing the diff buffer for staged and unstaged diffs, making it impossible to see both side-by-side. I really don't miss Magit asking me to save the file every time I asked for a Git diff. So I gain some value this way too.
I have some desire to eventully put the pop-to-command functions into their own package on the Non-GNU ELPA, and maybe do the same with my minimal Git wrappers if there's demand.

You're making a modpack that sounds so cool! Please tell more!
kicking my feet and giggling
honestly the most intensive part is just that I'm trying to make a quest book where you can pick between a couple different progression paths for yourself depending on how you like to play
I split it up into (names not really settled):
tinkerer: for the factory builder, focused on using Create to make resources from nothing. I found a mod that locks waystone crafting behind create auto crafting so they at least need to be able to produce brass. I also found add-ons that let you make upgradable armor and I think creative flight within a certain radius (but I can't remember rn if that was working or if I had to remove it). They also join the push for the nether bc they need blaze burners
I want to make it a little more engaging beyond Create but I haven't really settled on what that should be
warrior: focused on dungeons and bosses killing and looting for resources. Optional Irons Spells, exploring many biomes for archeology artifacts, food made out of mob drops, & I'm going to make a few dungeons personally so I can put the End Remastered eyes as rewards. I also have a mod that complicates entering the nether and I imagine this path leading the push for that too
Wanderer: a more average minecraft experience, farming and building and less dungeon exploration. I can't decide if I'll have this one split into two paths for living in the over world and living in The Dimensions (tropicraft and then the under dark to start), if I'll just assume tropicraft start (bc I have a few friends I know really wanted that mod), or it I should try to make it generic enough it doesn't matter which dimension you start. I'll give them some more guidance towards diversified food production, archeology again, meeting the new mobs, and trying to integrate the mods into gameplay.
I added simply ships and a mod that makes you a mermaid in water, origins, mowzie mobs, and I plan for them to go through quite a few kat-made quests and eye dungeons too. I know a little about using commands and I can leverage that
+ the general progression chapters for getting started (a lot of basic info, storage mod, Tetra, info on quark additions), the nether, a chapter for Alex's Caves (since anyone can stumble into those), the end, and then Deeper and Darker
+ some optional gameplay suggestions that I usually do myself to spice things up like being vegetarian, or only eating foods with fish, or trying to Never Go Mining, or actually using potions (which I added Dave's potioneering for too), or just telling them to really lean into their origin's themeing. I can't actually enforce these so they're just check mark honor system quests but theyre there for fun
We did a mod pack like a year ago (no fancy quests, just vibes) that went well but it did make it so I wanted to avoid mods like twilight forest or bewitched or the ars magica suite . bc we all already played through all that . and nobody gaf about the aether which is sad but oh well
For the most part I don't think it would feel THAT HEAVILY like a super duper modded experience compared to other heftier mod packs unless you take the wanderer path to effectively jump in the many modded puddles. rn it runs clean w 4 rams and I'm proud of that
the most difficult part is that I Want to throw together a quick mod? datapack? just to add some recipes (for inter-mod compatibility, like making tropicraft fish cuttable on the farmers delight cutting board) and maybe maybe ideally make it so a certain iron's spells mob doesn't drop netherite scrap. but. I don't know how to code. I've been watching tutorials and I don't even know what program they're using to do it in or if methods that work in vanilla would work on modded features. worst case I try using that infamous MCCreator thing and hoping for the best. but I'm having a lot of fun
#the wanderer might not even need to go into the nether but will contribute to the eyeball collection which i think is fun#collaborative experience. the tinkerer is lowkey intended to be usable for one of the tropicraft friends boyfriends to follow her in too#the other mod choices are all very much Kat Staples. shamelessly. irons spells and farmers delight and better archeology my beloveds#and more sniffer flowers 🥰🥰🥰 theyre my favorite favorite mob ever those are my baby#i worry that my friends and indeed most people would be frustrated by the major roadblocks to entering the nether and the end but ! too bad#i really really want a way to remove the end eyes from loot tables but i think i just need to go into its files with a scalpel for that#somehow. i will figure it out. and if i cant ill go humiliate myself in some fucking minecraft coding man's discord#she speaks#asks#anon#cult-of-lilith#or i could ask lillie. he knows everything about everything but i want to try to do it on my own first#you should see the pages im filling out in my notebook#i havent used this thing in months or more and now ive blasted through like 10 pages

Paleoanthropolgy, Archeology and Cultural Anthropolgy and Sociology of non-industrialised societies all absolutely support this.
Greed, ruthlessness and resource-hoarding in non-capilalist societies does happen, but it is the OUTLIER and the EXCEPTION, NOT the standard and the rule. Those things becoming the average is 100% a socially engineered concept.
My husband’s job primarily employs adult men but there is one (1) teenage girl and my husband said originally he worried she might be a bit of an outcast but instead every man on the crew was like “huh guess I am a dad/older brother now.”

Fell down a rabbit hole on ancient Israelite child sacrifice and it’s interesting that 1) it’s basically impossible (without jumping through absurd apologetic hoops) to explain important parts of the Hebrew Bible unless they are reacting to, being revised against, or being overlaid on a literary stratum which assumes the existence of Yahwistic child sacrifice; 2) as such it seems there is a very ancient strand of religious law (renegotiated at a very early date!) which specifically commands the sacrifice of all human and animal firstborn males; 3) like all religious law in the Bible, “one group of elites produced religious literature commanding a thing” doesn’t mean that those commandments represent actual universal and uncontested practices—indeed, one of the reasons people produce religious literature is to argue for a set of practices or to shore up their own position by portraying it as normative, and there is very little evidence that the ancient near eastern law codes (religious or secular) produced for propaganda purposes were used like we might use a modern law code; 4) the Canaanite/Phoenecian/Punic/Northwest Semitic religious milieu was certainly one in which infant sqcrifice was at least irregularly practiced, but no such archeological remains have been found in ancient Israel, but by their very nature this kind of infanticide leaves very little remains behind: infant skeletons are small and mostly cartilage, fire seems to have frequently been involved in such sacrifice, and the reason evidence of Carthaginian child sacrifice survived is bc such remains were interred in jars in Carthaginian tophets. 5) While a lot of modern commentators balk at taking the plain meaning of the relevant passages of the Bible seriously, and think that on grounds of basic social and emotional realism they cannot be read as supporting the existence at one time of Yahwistic child sacrifice, we really do not understand the realities of living in an Iron Age society with its attendant phenomenally high infant mortality rates, where many parents seem to have bonded with their children much later, and fertility rates were much higher to compensate for the basic reality of how often babies died. I would add to that my hunch that people in the ancient past were by modern standards just more likely to be traumatized in general, and that probably fucks up how you deal with violence and the value of human life and how you build systems which create social meaning out of death, too. “People in the past were human beings who loved their children” is not incompatible with “people in the past did horrific shit occasionally because they thought it was spiritually, socially, or materially necessary.”
And I am in some ways sympathetic to people who are reluctant to accept evidence of ancient Israelite, or even ancient Carthaginian child sacrifice. It’s so alien to our own moral sensibilities—it is in fact utterly repugnant to them! Ergo the urge to try to read the evidence differently, even if it requires wild contortions. But we know that (for instance) the death penalty and exposure of infants and religious ordeals would have all been common in the region and it seems a small step to me to imagine some ritualization of these practices that at least imbues infanticide with some kind of deeper spiritual significance, if for no other reason than as a kind of cope. In a way it’s encouraging that we have come so far that we refuse to believe any society could have ever endorsed such a thing. Nor is it a recent transition: much of the overt violence and bloodshed of the ancient Israelite law codes was renegotiated away thousands of years ago, and the renegotiation of child sacrifice happened so early that it was a major part of the formation of those codes in the form that we have them now. That too is encouraging—you don’t need modern, historically contingent sensibilities to look at brutal social systems and go “fuck this, let’s replace them with something kinder and more humane.” That tendency is as much a part of the basic forces that drive human history as our violence or our shortsightedness is.

MoonKnight Headcanons *Modern AU*
Lets get the obvious out the way.
Disclaimer: This is written as if they had separate bodies, so triplets I suppose.
Steven
Steven would major in Egyptology and Archeology.
I can see him traveling the world studying ancient wonders but specializing in the Egyptian ones.
He graduates with a double major; travels around the world, eventually making notable discoveries and finds. And retires as a professor.
Unlike his brothers, he chooses to stay a little more grounded. He may be the only person alive who likes busy work; grading papers, and all that.
Something about "peeking into the brilliant minds of today's youths."
It's fascinating to him and brings back memories of his time as a student.
He tends to be bit disappointed, though... his students are a creative bunch, but their grammer and spelling give him a headache. The ideas are there, but the execution is flimsy at best. But nothing that can't be fine-tuned and workshopped!
He becomes a tenured professor, and many of his colleagues come to him for advice on how to motivate their own students. He almost cried (he did cry) when the staff came together and celebrated his birthday. Gave him a vegan cake and everything.
Students even threw him a little suprise party.
They decorated his classroom and everything. He was so moved his gave them extra credit (they were hoping for a free exam grade, but they still love him).
ヽ(;▽;)ノ
Marc
Majors in Archeology or becomes a firefighter. I can't really see him being a police officer, but I do think he'd want to go into a field where he helps people.
The chief of the station practically takes Marc under his wing because he sees himself in Marc. Basically, he becomes a father figure to him and teaches him not to be so self sacrificial and hot-headed.
Marc continues being on field duty until he's forced to retire by his team due to old age. Or they force him to take a desk job, which he absolutely hates.
He becomes chief of the station by the end of his career thought. (Previous fire chief long passed/retired).
He's very respected and loved by the members of his station despite how thick headed and stubborn he can be. He's tough but fair, just like his previous mentor.
Jake
Jake is just as smart as Marc and Steven are, just in a different way. He applies himself and graduates college with a double major in mechanical and electrical engineering.
(This one is a bit up in the air in what he'd do after, but I really think he'd get a degree if he could).
Or he'd major in law and business!
He'd become a private investigator and help the little guys who can't afford a big-time lawyer. (He directs them to his friend Matthew Murdock and his buddy Nelson).
And he investigates shady business practices even if it means doing it in not so legal ways. Such as "dealing" with Slumlords price gouging the rent or not having the building up to code.
Jake has had many run-ins with the law before, so he knows people, and those people know people.
That's why he studied the law, memorized it, just so he could break it (within reason) and beat those greedy big timers at their own game.
And well, next thing you know, the building was having repairs done, and the rent was down to an affordable price. And no one (except the client) is any the wiser.
Other jobs include:
If he's running low on cash (or wants some drama), he'd catch cheating spouses.
He'll even take missing persons reports; ones the police gave up on and said, "were lost causes." He has eyes and ears out on the streets, just for the occasion.
For better or for worse, his success rate is above 50%.
Much to his dismay.
It gets to him sometimes, but he's lucky he has Marc and Steven to bring him out of the deep end.

Comin' atchya with more Venture headcanons. Here we go~!
When the ancient cheese, meat, bread, wine, and coffin juice was going around and people were joking about eating them. Venture was very much considering it. Even as they'd respond on social media about how unlikely you could eat them or how dangerous it was to do so through facts.
Of course after a while of pouting around the base the other Wayfinders asked what was wrong and Venture mumbled a soft "I really want to eat the ancient sandwich. But that's breaking so many archeology codes of conduct." as their colleagues laughed and said "It'd kill you." "It'd be worth it!!" They whined back. Sloan isn't a fan of being mistaken for a 15 year old half the time. They know why it's the nonbinary, mixed with their gor~geous face, and their zeal for life! But getting carded at every event they need to go to for work at museum parties or workplace stuff when their colleagues just walk in is getting really annoying for them. And loudly proclaiming you're 26 and you just forgot your wallet, doesn't work as well as it should.
There's a very real possibility that Sloan has adhd and autism. But it took so much effort for them to get the adhd diagnosis and meds to survive college. Also, they assure people they don't feel it really affects them so they haven't truly pursued it. Everyone else is sort of aware, but when Venture was asked about it, everyone realized it does bother them, but they were still coming to grips with the adhd diagnosis so it's best to let them figure it out.
Venture wants to get cursed soooooo bad. They think it would be frickin cool, but they also know the legends of curses aren't real, but also it'd be pretty sick to experience a supernatural situation! Of course when they finally do after the initial excitement in their own words "This suuuuuucks~!!!" to anybody who will listen to them. Aka the whole of the Wayfinders now knows how much it sucks to be cursed.
Thanks for reading~!! This is all I have for right now. I hope I come out with more but who knows. Wish yall all well! :D

hii! do you have any nathalie or nathalie parenting adrien headcanons? <3
love ur art and eminath thoughts sm
hi max!!!! thank you for all your contributions to the eminath tag, I love your art and how you draw nathalie (esp. smiling!!) 🥺🥰
hmmmm I’m not exactly a headcanon type…. but when I’ve thought about nathalie and adrien, I imagine it’s a guardianship that’ll really find its footing when he’s an adult. I have a Nathalie & Adrien fic, and it’s only after he moves out that she realizes she has developed a parental instinct. is he eating enough? does he need a jacket before he leaves? can she do anything for him actually? In his teenage years, she lets him stay out late and come and go as he pleases. she makes sure he’s been as truthful as he can/wants to be about his feelings.
Like, I think there’s a space they have to navigate between them. to me, she’ll never replace emilie and it’s sooooo clear by every interaction Nathalie has had, especially with Gabriel, but also seeing how Emilie rejoiced in being a mother.
but she’s been around him all of his life. and that’s gets meeeeeee.
so, hm. I think what I mean to say is…. They’ll have a meaningful relationship as two adults but I do think there’s a soft part of nathalie who’ll mourn her mistakes and wish she would could redo a lot of things and be there for him more.
as for nathalie proper….. she can talk your ear off about archeology and hunting and I think she and adrien could share a love of learning different languages (ancient languages vs. his Morse code) and I think she was sort of laughed at in graduate school for her research of magical artifacts (which led the Agrestes to seek her out and that validation fueled her) and….. she wears briefs. I think she had crushes on girls but never had a girlfriend. I think she wants to go back and do field research or expeditions but only after adrien is out of the house

I sometimes ask myself (WIP FOR THE REF SHEET BELOW)

“Khang!! Why don’t you ship Aventio/Raturine/Golden Ratio??? Theyre literally YOUR kinda trope! You’d die for the same troupe and you cried over multiple other ships that has the same dynamic!!”
And i do ask myself what is it about aventurine and dr ratio that separates them from the other ships of the same trope that i would defend with my life, but after months and months of wondering “why do i feel like theyre awfully platonic” “why cant i see them romantically like the other ships of the same trope” i have come to an conclusion that dr ratio and aventurine hits too close to home w me and that one bro that i love with my life platonically and i am projecting onto the two of them
And also Dr Ratio is ugly
But anyways back to oc x canon shit ft. My genshin oc from 2020 - prof. Solias lehto of engineering. He was made for sumeru before the region was released…. …
Sol is basically borderline ruan mei, he dgaf, he is putting himself in 20 pounds of radiation if it means he makes a new weapon for fun. He wanted to ascend to an archon-hood through mechanical works or some shit, fucked up humanity and is working for the fatui, making them weapons yadayada for the fun of it and they allow him to.
He occasionally visits the quarters to distribute his silly little gadgets for testing (he made sure it was safe before putting to test) and thats when he met childe and they became best buddies because makes weapons x uses and breaks them and theyre both insane so it works i guess. And he learn first aid + pursuing medicine in Sumeru just so that he can tend to childe’s wounds because test subject + he cares for him.
Despite this, he doesnt agree with Dottore work ethics as he has a personal moral code for humans. He would never test dangerous things on others, he would do it on himself. (Learnt it the hard way after he accidentally lobotomized his twin brother)

Same pose… same almost dynamic… two different games… im cooked….
.l…..
Ok back on rambling, here’s some post-talia fenrir.
He was Dr Ratio’s student to gain the elementary foundation before heading off to pursue linguistic and literature. He would earn a doctorate pretty soon after cuz he lowk a freak with languages and now he’s teaching alongside Dr Ratio too. They are not in the IPC together, but the organization that Fenrir is in often collab with the Intelligentsia Guild so basically, he’s the honorary IPC member.
Fenrir sometimes nag the doctor to let him join the Guild, even threatening with the invitation from The Riddlers (he did join them but Dr Ratio doesnt know yet)

The students under Fenrir does noticed a competitive undertone/tension between the two doctors, but not many knew about their past together. Its a funny thing. They would often compare their students achievements for fun too.
the strict teacher x the teacher people thought were a student
God i want them dead too theyre like evil eifenturine

As a token of thanks, Fenrir dedicated almost 89% of his research to the Avgin-Sigonian dialect for Aventurine and chose to study the language as his dissertation. It was a little funny thing as people keep seeing ihm around the strategic investment department trying to butter up aventurine and was like “what the fuck is this guy doing here bro” and bawm in like 4 months or smth a piece of linguistic and archeology research was birthed
I dont know if i want it angsty or not, but for this i’d want aventurine to be happy that his heritage is finally being recognized and. He’d often tease Fenrir by repeating some of the rambling that fenrir always repeats when talking to Aventurine in Avgin-Sigonian, like little mumble
“okay so avgin sigonian has two diphthongs… from the way he’s speaking they’re normally in stressed syllables… hmm…. And they make morphological alternations with the mid vowels /e/ and /o/….”

This is a joke doodle, THIS IS A JOKEEEE

Giratina's Temple and the Celestica Ruins
aka Giratina/platinum clan theory is back (also sorry for using mspaint lmao)

So we all know about the Shrouded Ruins, yeah?
(This is the only spoiler warning for Pokemon Legends: Arceus you're gonna get)
Spooky. Ever-cloaked in mists and mystery, surrounded by black-stoned cairns like graves and home to the giant Odd Keystone that once (?) housed 108 souls. Very ghost-centric.
Well what if I told you it was a temple?

Greco-roman temples (and, problematic or otherwise the celestica are absolutely greco-roman coded) are constructed relatively uniformly, with an outer later of columns holding up the roof and an inner layer holding up an internal structure, providing additional support, ect.
We have a perfect in-game model to project from, too, in the Temple of Sinnoh (pre-explosion). You can see that some of the smaller columns are sometimes decorative - likely they held up torches or, in the case of the two nearest the 'altar,' offerings

So knowing that style and having the remaining structures we do see in-game, we can approximate a lay out of what the building may have looked like.

What makes this a temple, however, is more open to interpretation. My evidence to support that it is is actually the blue-tinged pedestals seen within the outline of the building - the place(s) of honor in any temple. Irl, the inner structure - the cella - was often fully-walled in, though sometimes this was constructed via wood and other materials that don't withstand time.

Now, ENORMOUS shout-out to pokemaniacchris and the incredible Crimson Mirelands Archeological Survey Project for a really detailed, in-character breakdown of the ruins structures throughout the mirelands. I can only assume the 'surveyors' hadn't reached Mt. Coronet yet in their explorations.
Pedestals like these (at least superficially similar) are found beneath dozens of statues around Mt. Coronet, including beneath Giratina, Palkia and Dialga in the Sacred Plaza area. Now, I know I'm supposed to be claiming that this is a temple to Giratina, but if we work on the assumption that the four pedestals corollate with Giratina, Palkia, Dialga, and Arceus, a new conclusion can, perhaps, be drawn:
That whoever built this temple saw all four of them on the same 'level' of power or -- and this is my hc taking over -- if the statues were placed in a certain orientation (see below) that they saw Arceus and Giratina on equal footing, with Dialga and Palkia one rank below.
And there is, imo, more evidence to support this disruption of the 'creation trio' into two pairs on equal footing, found in the Celestica Ruins! So, among the structures there are two notable, circular buildings that the Greeks also utilized, called tholoi (plural). Irl, tholoi were a mix of secular-use and small-scale temples, and seeing as these two are small (maybe 10ft across inside?) I would maintain the claim that they're small temples.
And they align/mirror each other just as the statues of Palkia and Dialga do.

This part becomes pure conjecture, but I like to think the smaller structures in the ruins might be other small-scale temples for the various mythicals, honoring each much as the Greeks honored a pantheon.
Lastly, the CMASP describes the "Gapejaw Bog Complex" as being potentially an entire agora all its own and I can't agree more. Such evidence would support the idea of there being two groups of Celestica (Note: Not the Clans.)
I actually found myself wondering if the mirelands weren't always quite so swampy, and instead flooded at some point in the past with the depressions around Gapejaw - left by housing foundations - filled in with swamp water.
At the end of the day, I think there's a lot of evidence that the Celestica revered Giratina as well as Arceus, Dialga and Palkia - at least early on. Something happened to cause this schism, and the Old Verses/Plate inscriptions point to an outburst of rage from Giratina -- though, in "pick a god (and pray)" I actually argue it was mispercieved on the part of the Celestica and this misperception is what caused Arceus to despair and withdraw.
Open to discussion!! fellow nerds please interact!!
#pla#pokemon legends arceus#celestica#celestica people#pokemon lore#giratina#arceus#volo#i also think there's a correlation between the ancient hero story's bolts of rage and alphas/hisuian pokemon aggression#specifically my internal timeline is that the schism predates everything purely on the secular/human level#arceus then empowered the noble pokemons' ancestors and fought the hero and believed humans were worthy of his blessing until the celestica#blamed giratina for the rage lightning and shattered the statue and maybe even drove the gira sect out#this dismayed arceus and it withdrew leaving the rage to fade but still linger and make hisui inhospitable#the celestica left (of their own volition imo) to seek out arceus and other knowledge and the clans came after#the clans saw only two statues (palkia and dialga) and picked sides but still upheld the tradition honoring the nobles#i imagine cogita being direct celestica (immortal or otherwise) and volo being gira clan descended or otherwise descended from the diaspora#the celestica then went to sinjoh/johto and so on and so forth#long post#reference

Mdzs pre columbine colombian au !!!!
Based off of these two wangxian coded instruments I found at the archeological museum in Bogotá

I don't really know what the left one is other than some sort of string instrument so lwj is kind of an amalgamation of things, mainly tayrona clothing since it's the most covered lol. However I know the flute (right) is a sinú flute so I based wwx off of that coastal culture :3
#my dad made a passing comment abt the flute and the other thing and next thing i knew i blacked out and woke up with these sketches#maaaaybe i will render something/draw other characters but for now this is what i have#wangxian#mdzs#mxtx
