Red Knight Chapter 4 - Team Up
DP x DC | Dead on Main
Jason Todd encounters one Danny Fenton in the streets of Gotham and suddenly he's thrown into a world of ghosts and monsters. Will he embrace this life? Or will it just end up with him dead again?
Read on AO3 | Beginning | < Prev | Next >
--
Jason ended up at Danny’s place for a second time. After picking up his dropped bodega snacks (Takis and a six pack of Dr. Pepper) Danny pulled Jason out of the pavement and ushered him up the block and into the apartment Jason already knew was his.
Jason sat on the worn out sofa, hands folded. Danny appraised him from the kitchen, mouth full of Takis. “So what you’re gonna need most is some gear.”
Danny leaned over to a side wall and stuck his hand through it. He must have triggered a switch of some kind because a moment later an armory panel flipped around, revealing a rack of strange gadgetry haphazardly stacked on top of one another. Most of it looked similar in design to the belt Jason had found on Danny’s desk.
Danny rummaged for a second before he pulled out a canister and tossed it to Jason. Jason caught it and turned it over in his hands. “A thermos?”
“Your most important tool in ghost hunting. You use this to capture ghosts.”
Jason scoffed. “Why would I want to capture them?”
“You have any luck killing them?” Danny gave him a sideways glance.
Jason pursed his lips. Obviously he hadn’t. All his fights had ended in some variation of mutual retreat.
“Thought not. So— thermos. I trap them in there till I release them back in the Ghost Zone.”
“Ghost Zone?”
“The Infinite Realms. Aforementioned realm of the dead, if we’re being reductive. Where they live. Or after-live. Same thing.” Danny cracked a soda and held it out to Jason, offering. Jason shook his head, and Danny continued, “Since you don’t have a portal, you can drop your full thermoses off with me.”
“You do have a portal?”
Danny tilted his head for a moment, considering. “Not exactly. Next up— weapons.”
Not exactly. Another half answer. Jason swallowed any notions of follow up questions, and not just because he could still feel bruises forming on his skin from where Danny’s hits had landed (seriously when was the last time someone had actually left a mark on him?)
“All of this stuff was designed to work against ghosts, even for regular humans using it.” Danny gestured to the makeshift armory. “But the way you shoot ecto blasts out of your regular guns has me wondering— you might be able to enhance some of this stuff too.”
Danny pulled out a pair of clunky metal bracelets. “Take these for example. In theory these were designed to imitate a ghosts power of invisibility. They do a decent job of optic camouflage but it’s hardly the real thing.” He tossed them over and Jason snatched them out of the air. “I bet if you try them it will work all the way.”
Jason clicked the cuffs around his wrists, wary. Nothing happened. “Now what?”
“Do what you do when you use your guns.”
Jason concentrated a moment, clenching his muscles and feeling stupid. He must have been making a weird face because Danny chuckled.
Jason glowered at him. “This is dumb. I don’t have superpowers.”
“You do have ghost powers though. I think you’re trying too hard. Being invisible isn’t like firing something out, it’s like pulling something back, if that makes sense.”
“Not at all,” Jason grumbled.
Danny snorted. “I’m not a poet, cut me some slack. Just try again.”
Jason looked up to give Danny another glare, but he was surprised again at the casual intensity with which Danny looked back at him. Jason hadn’t noticed that he’d been avoiding looking Danny in the eyes and now he remembered why. He felt small under those eyes. Cornered like a feral cat. He wanted to-
“Oh!” Danny exclaimed as his eyes lost their direct focus. Jason looked down at himself and was met with a shifting shimmer of nothingness. Invisible. He felt a soft hum of energy from the cuffs that matched the hum of energy within him. He kept his concentration a moment longer before releasing it like a held breath.
“It works!” Danny smiled triumphantly.
Jason grunted in the affirmative, twisting the cuff on his wrist.
“Did you make all these?” Jason gestured to the cuffs and other gadgets.
“Oh, yeah. Some are based on my parents’ designs, but everything here I built.”
“Why? Why make all this?”
Danny shrugged. “Old habits. I’ll pack you a goodie bag of anything that might be useful. Most of it is pretty self explanatory.”
Old habits. Another dodge but Danny turned and started digging through the closet before Jason could ask more. Who has a habit of building weapons when you clearly don’t need them?
A minute later Danny dropped a duffel bag brimming with all sorts of odds and ends on the coffee table in front of Jason. It must have been hundreds of dollars worth of gear. It felt like some kind of con, or a trick. This kind of assistance didn’t come for free.
“Why are you helping me?” Jason asked it like an accusation.
“I told you. Because I can.”
Jason stared with narrowed eyes, unsatisfied.
Danny paused. Rubbed a hand over the back of his neck. “It was coincidence that I sensed you that first night. When you got up closer I realized you were like me. We’re a pretty rare thing, and it’s not an easy life. Half life. Whatever.”
“But why help me. Half ghost or not, what if I was a serial killer? Or a pedo?”
“Or a crime lord?” Danny raised a pointed eyebrow. Jason kept his face at a trained neutral. “I’ve been in Gotham long enough to know the Red Hood’s reputation.”
Jason didn’t know whether or not he felt relieved by that.
Danny sat down on the couch next to Jason. Didn’t look at him. He fiddled with his fingers for a moment before he let them curl into a fist.
“For people like us… I know sometimes you don’t get the luxury of being the good guy. Sometimes you have to be exactly the monster they think you are.”
Jason stared at Danny’s hands. He’d seen a peek of the monster Danny could be. And playing with these so-called powers that Danny was teasing out of him felt like walking a tightrope across the Lazarus pit. But hearing Danny admit that he wasn’t some saint, he could accept that Danny really was trying to help him.
Jason picked up a pair of what looked like gaudy high-tech earrings from the duffel. “So with these I can make the ghosts stop attacking me?”
Danny was about to answer when the room went cold. Jason saw Danny’s breath. His smile fell.
“Shit.” Danny’s eyes snapped to Jason, serious now. “Ready for a crash course? Strap up. They’re here.”
Danny scanned the room like a predator. Jason saw nothing.
“Who’s here?” he said, grabbing miscellany from the bag (was that just a baseball bat painted green?) and clipping whatever would fit in his holsters. Goosebumps rose on Jason’s arms as the chill settled deeper. What’s here may have been a better question.
Danny didn’t look back at him, still scanning corners. “Okay short version: Gotham is super cursed right? A curse like this only happens to places when ghosts stick around too long. The ghost and the place become part of each other, kinda. They’re a different flavor than ghosts like those rats who come and go. As you can imagine the curse ghosts here have dug their heels in pretty deep. And I uh… asked them to leave.”
The lights flickered and went dark. Jason didn’t dare breathe. “And how did that go?” he whispered.
“Not great.”
Then an abomination unlike any of the ghosts Jason had faced yet phased through the living room wall. It had way too many legs and a mouth that opened too wide and a hulking animalistic form that seemed to ooze inky darkness.
“Super rude of you to crash my place when I have company over,” Danny quipped toward the beast.
Then a beam of green light pelted the thing in its side. An instant later Danny had vaulted the couch and jumped at it fists blazing.
Guess they were doing this.
Danny’s fighting style shifted completely from before. When he’d fought Jason it had been full of flourish, more dodging than attack, a cat playing with its prey. Now he was like a wolf, vicious and decisive, aiming directly for weak spots.
A blast of green energy from Danny’s palm to what Jason assumed was the creature’s head sent a glob of goop splatting to the wall behind it.
“Aw man that’s definitely going to leave a stain,” Danny huffed as the creature lashed back with a slippery-sharp leg-appendage.
The creature swung in a wide arc. Jason ducked and rolled, ending up behind it. He reached into the duffel if ghost gear for something that would work against it and pulled out… some kind of metallic medieval looking whip? What the shit was he supposed to do with this?
The curse ghost let out a gurgling roar as Danny punched what must have been its jaw. Heck. Jason might as well try. He flailed the flail at one of the thing’s rear legs. The ends of the whip immediately got stuck in the thick goop of it. The ghost didn’t even seem to notice as it tossed Danny to the ceiling.
Screw that. He abandoned the whip and pulled a pistol out, focusing his energy and letting a blast rip. It stung a hole in the curse ghost’s side. It spun around, attention shifted. Maybe that wasn’t a good thing.
Quicker than a pile of angry goo had any right to be it whipped its tail around and this time Jason didn’t duck fast enough. It caught him in the side and sent him crashing through the coffee table. Worse, his pistol went flying.
“Quit wrecking my house!” Danny shouted as he launched off the ceiling, elbow down on the ghost like a pro wrestler. They tumbled into the desk with a squelch. It gave Jason enough of a breath to notice the sword under the couch. Sure, why not.
He grabbed it by the hilt and reflexively focused his energy through it. The sword responded as he pulled it out from under the couch, glowing with energy that flickered like wicked green flames. He cracked a smile. Okay now they were getting somewhere.
He scrambled to his feet. Danny wrestled with the beast on the other side of the couch.
“Hey black licorice how do you like this?” He swung the sword two handed through the same leg that had eaten the whip. It cut clean through with a satisfying schlick. That chunk of goo slopped to the floor.
“Nice!” Danny beamed as he kicked the thing off of him with both feet. Jason swelled with golden pride.
He fell into muscle memory, relying on his old training. He didn’t let himself think too hard about the origins of the techniques and instead just relishing the feeling of the blade cutting through the ghost monster, slowly backing it into a corner with the aid of Danny’s blasts.
As if the beast sensed the jaws of the snare closing it lashed out one final time. It swatted Danny from the air and pinned him under a massive paw, nearly swallowing him whole. Jason froze, a shot of ice cold panic in his veins. The sword was cool and all but If Danny went down for real he was royally fucked.
“Thermos!” Danny croaked out from beneath the mound of goo.
Jason fumbled for the canister. He wasted precious moments fiddling with the cap and looking for an on switch.
“How the hell do I work this?” He barked back at Danny.
“Just hit the button!!”
His thumb found the switch then he barely managed to keep his grip as a beam of light shot out of the canister, hit the beast and sucked it up like a vacuum in the span of three seconds flat.
The lights flickered back on. Danny got up, brushed the lingering goo off his shirt, and flopped down on the torn up couch.
“Good job.”
What the hell.
Jason sat down on the couch next to Danny. “These things-“ he started, taking a moment to flick the black goo off his sword and calm the tremor in his hand, “They’re just running around Gotham attacking people?”
“Not directly. The curse ghosts aren’t like regular ghosts. They don’t attack humans. They don’t need to. These guys cause malice and chaos just with their rancid vibes alone, and then they feed off of the misery they cause. They’ve been in crime alley since before it was crime alley. In a way they are crime alley.”
“But they attack you,” Jason pressed him with a look.
“I shot first,” Danny sighed, “But I couldn’t just let them be.”
“Why not?” Jason pressed further. Danny wasn’t from here. He had no connection to Gotham, no reason to risk himself to protect it.
Danny hesitated. “It’s what I do. Ever since the accident. I protect people from ghosts.”
Jason supposed that reasoning made just about the same amount of sense as any of the justifications he’d heard from the other spandex-wearing dumbasses he knew. Himself included. Which now posed him with a dilemma.
It seemed so obvious that Gotham was cursed. Jason could swallow the supernatural explanation with ease. But that meant he had been fighting a losing battle this whole time. And not just him— Bruce and the rest too. Even if he ignored the curse ghosts and went back to fighting his own battles, he’d do it with the knowledge that he’d be treating a symptom, not the cause.
Dealing with ghosts night after night had been a nuisance but they hadn’t caused real damage. Not like what Danny described these curse ghosts doing, and not like what he’d just seen. He though of the dark shadows he’d seen in his peripherals ever since he’d started noticing the ghosts. They felt the same as the beast they’d just fought. He couldn’t ignore them now, the same way he couldn’t ignore the regular ghosts. Dammit.
“I want in.”
“What?” Danny asked, a note of surprise in his voice, and also a hint of delight. Jason ground his teeth together. He hoped he wouldn’t regret this.
“This is my home. These guys are fucking with it. I’m not about to just let them carry on.”
“So you’re not going to go after them alone?”
Jason shook his head no. Danny smiled.
“And you’ll let me give you the tools you’ll need?”
Jason nodded. Danny smiled wider.
“And you’ll actually call me if you run into trouble?”
Jason wasn’t stupid. The half-destroyed apartment was enough proof that he’d be toast if he tried to take down even one of those curse ghosts alone. Plus now he could begrudgingly and with absolute certainty admit that fighting with Danny was much better than fighting against him.
Jason sighed, loudly. “Yes, dammit.”
Danny beamed. “You’re hired.”

Late Night Radical-Constructivist Rambling
I believe in a few 'radical' (read: not popular) ideas regarding the self, the nature of being, reality, and consciousness. One such idea I hold in high regard is that reality is constructed by the senses, but what does that actually mean? What, in abstract, am I really getting at? Am I saying that we make up reality as we go along and that everything is fake? No, not quite.
(cont.)
To elaborate in a semi-reductive way: imagine the brain and its functions while putting a pin in the above text. In my view, the brain acts as a reality interpreter.
Think of your eyes and vision. You might say, "I can confirm with someone else that we're seeing the same thing." (i.e; a 'red' apple)
And that's true, relatively speaking. You and an outside observer can correspond and compare truths to reach a shared truth: we both perceive the apple as being red. (This concept, generally, is known as the correspondence theory of truth)
But what happens when you look at an optical illusion? Let's say that you're on your phone and see a post regarding a dress that asks what color(s) the dress is: black and blue or gold and white?
My friend might say the dress is blue and black whilst at the same time I perceive it and whole heartedly believe that it's gold and white. Some of the more clever among you might respond to this by saying we can check the hexadecimal color value(s) of the image, which is true. But consider that hexadecimal color is based upon the visible spectrum of light that we (you, I, others) are able to perceive. Is someone who is wholly colorblind wrong if they point out that the dress is actually gray and black? Because they can't perceive the same colors that you and I can?
"Yes!" I can hear the contrarians among you say. Well, alright, let's play that game.
Hypothetically, what if everyone were varying levels of colorblind, and only you and a minuscule percentage of people could see the light spectrum that non-colorblind people can see?
What if they used your logic there and said, "Actually, a majority of people see that it's gray. If we check with hexadecimal color, we can see that it's #00FFFF; objectively extremely gray!"
I hope you see the problem here and where the correspondence theory of truth falls apart.
This line of reasoning is known as The Knowledge Argument, which is often synonymous in conversation with Mary's Room. You can read more about it here (link to Standford Encyclopedia of Philosophy).
Digressing back to my earlier point about the senses and how the brain constructs reality:
By empirical comparisons of this manner on this matter, we can come to realize that what we perceive is not how reality appears, but rather how it appears relative to us. (And our senses.)
Back to optical illusions: surely you've seen a few. Take for example The Checker Shadow illusion (Wikipedia link)
The two squares are the same color. Yes, your eyes and brain are fooling you. Why is this? Well, to put it simply, your brain (the aforementioned reality interpreter) unconsciously takes the qualia (the subjective experience/phenomenon of viewing the illusion) and fills in the gaps based upon contextual information available to you. Thus, resulting in your perception of the squares being different colors.
The brain does this constantly in our day to day lives. And it isn't limited to optical illusions. Olfactory, tactile, auditory, and gustatory illusions all exist. Getting a little spooky, isn't it?
So, we've arrived at a point where we can agree at a minimum that the brain constructs reality based upon our senses. But what about the truth? Before I open that can of worms, let me posit another question to you:
When you perceive daylight and your friend in Australia perceives nightlight, which one of you is correct? And which one of you is lying?
If you believe in an objective truth, then this question will stump you. You'll tell me that I'm being fallacious in my reasoning, but that's not the case. You're encountering a problem here where you're inducting objectivity onto a problem with no objective answer.
The truth in this case, and pertaining to the question, is both dynamic and relative. Your friend isn't lying, and neither of you are incorrect. The truth relative to you is that it's daytime. The truth relative to your friend in Australia is that it's nighttime. The truth is dynamic in that it will eventually shift; you will eventually experience nighttime after experiencing daytime, and your friend will experience daytime after nighttime. Neither of you will experience them at the same time unless one of you moves elsewhere to the same time zone.
Again, neither lying or incorrect.
This is the essence of what I'm getting at. Your reality and how you experience it is just as valid as any other person's, even if you have fundamental disagreements as to the nature of reality and your contrasting perceptions.
In closing: I believe that this posits many questions about the very nature of being and consciousness, and that the world as we experience it is not as black and white as various figures claim it to be. Your experience of the world is just as valid as anyone else's and vice versa.
"There are no facts, only interpretations" —Friedrich Nietzsche.
(If you made it this far, thank you very much for reading. Any and all feedback is appreciated! 🖤🦝)

Satellite of Cybertron/Chapter 1
Okay, Google, what to do if you suddenly found yourself in space, didn't die after a few minutes, realized that you are no longer a human… are these two giant robots destroy nebula during battle?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
He was running. Again.
Green crystalline trees whizzed past, metal ferns whipped around the hull, and cable vines tried to get under the servo.
But it wasn't the first time he'd been here either.
From behind, the slow, loud stomping and noisy venting of the pursuer could be heard. The vegetation around him reflected the violet glare more and more vividly.
He was being caught up. As expected.
Spark pulsed excitedly, heating up his chamber and accelerating the energon pounding in the audials. Optics in battle mode scanned the surroundings.
Up ahead, amidst all the kaleidoscope of green, steel and purple, the native blue lights appeared.
In time. He was already beginning to tire.
Suddenly, as always, the forest was replaced by the bare bank of a shallow but wide river. He was immediately transformed.
The two wheels made sure to make contact with the ground, and he quickly picked up speed. Using the familiar rocks as a springboard, he managed to fly over the obstacle and land softly.
He braked sharply to avoid crashing into the blue crystalline thickets and transformed again, but he was unable to steady himself on the servos and rolled over. Now he was lying on the aforementioned energy-blue crystalline vegetation and mentally counting the new dents on his hull. Well, as an unnamed seeker-researcher had written: ‘If you remain conscious after landing, the landing is considered soft".
Violet mech groaned and stood up, rubbing his bruised helm. When he regained consciousness, he retrieved two cases from subspace with a single manipulator movement. First, he checked the long and narrow case, opened it, and with a sigh of relief ventilated it: the brush and paints were in order (which was a good thing, considering how difficult impossible it was to find replacements for them in these places). The second case turned out to be a book - opening it, the motorcyclist checked the fresh inscriptions on the bound pages, which were safely hidden by the metal cover. Fortunately, the characters were still legible, though slightly smudged. All that remained was to quietly update them, and all would be well.
Flicking through the previous entries, he stopped at the very first page. The young Cybertronian's optics were not on that page, but on the inside of the cover, where the large handwriting read, ‘Notes of a novice explorer,’ and in smaller print, ‘Liber, doing Vector's Feats'.
Closing the book and carefully placing the important things back into subspace, Liber looked at the opposite shore. The creature that had stalked him had not left. It was following him closely with its bright purple optics, whose colour was diluted only by the darkness in the middle, like black holes surrounded by the light they sucked in. Though the beast was not clearly visible from behind the green thickets, the fur knew its appearance well.
A powerful giant, many times larger than him, a silver body, two manipulators, two servos, a pair of horns and wings each, as if made up of a single endoskeleton, capable of flashing flames the colour of the creature's optics. Something that shouldn't live, no, exist on Cybertron.
Cronid.
A species descended from Unicron himself, the bringer of Chaos.
And yet there it was, and it was about twenty-five mechanometres away, never having left its teritorium.
Satisfied with the job he had done, Liber walked slowly into the blue forest, looking for signposts to get back to the settlement. Knowing that he would not be attacked (the cronid himself had never crossed the river, all dangerous animals had been scared away by him), he found himself daydreaming about the next time he would learn about this creature.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The creature sighed as it looked at the robotic motorbike. Wasn't he tired of following her and then running away? On one hand this behaviour annoyed her, on the other…. it was refreshing.
This purple stalker was the first intelligent (?) inhabitant of this world who hadn't tried to kill her after his first encounter with her.
Though the fact that he always came back was a little tense and reassuring. How curious/crazy do you have to be to come back to her every time, knowing it would end in a mad race?
But, come to think of it, one didn't prevent the other.
Sighing once more, she turned away from the river and walked back to her house.
This day was exhausting without metal weirdos lacking the instinct for self-preservation.

does shiv actually care abt loyalty?
thinking abt shivtom, then specifically WHY they're together i.e wrt shiv, made me reexamine logan's assessment of their relationship, i'd never thought too deeply abt it before, bc it certainly provoked a reaction from shiv (which was the point), and seemed biting enough, but i don't think that's quite what's going on there.
first off i don't think shiv's vice is loyalty, i don't think she was ever quite preoccupied with anyone's loyalty to her
(none of the siblings were — sans roman who was loyal TO logan and con, who chased after willa's love — [the two most romanticizing/complacent characters in relation to logan] but it could be argued that the two are the same thing manifesting differently),
let alone tom's, that's more logan's realm (projection lol? esp when he's notoriously disloyal and fickle in the romance department — and ACTUALLY pursues women below him, most notably kerry (also think its worth noting that when a woman did challenge him i.e gerri, he immediately devalues her, particularly interesting if you consider gerri's inclusion at the widow's table during his service — unless she was networking lol, doubly interesting considering his hypocrisies considering company dating/allegiance, ageism + desirability) — mans is NOTORIOUSLY noncommittal, esp as a means to ensnare ppl. which he and shiv DO share so maybe bru was cooking) and tom's, ironically [or not... more on that later].
loyalty, or one's preoccupation with it, is a possessive affliction, it demands, it is constantly evidenced and performed, its an anxious and insecure deficit — and this isn't to say that shiv isn't insecure (someone who opts for such shallow relationships and flits from vacuous intimacy to intimacy is obviously running from or compensating for smth), but she buries it, she disregards and bites back instead, opting to control and wound (treating things as tit for tat - transactional) —
shiv never really demanded things of tom, quite the opposite actually, she languished in his floundering, she pushed to see how much he could take, shiv shares caroline's judgement on the things logan loves: shiv too kicks to see if it will bother coming back, if it WANTS it bad enough. and shiv and logan are both cold and largely emotionally unavailable/unconcerned with emotion, and so the kind of passion that loyalty demands is largely absent from shiv & shivtom's dynamic, however the clinical, impassive manner in which shiv curates her life, CERTAINLY pertains to the way she moulds tom's place within it/her (😏).
to understand this, shiv's core fallibility has to actually be addressed, and that is - needing to be right™, or specifically, superior. shiv wants the sort of veneer that logan has earned, she wants to laud her superiority over others, the same way that logan thinks himself faultless and intellectually superior to his kin — except shiv wants to be able to feel superior abt it too, she wants to feel she earned it [which feeds into her efforts at individuality], she holds notions abt her true character that logan only wields manipulatively, practically.
unable to fit into logan's mould, shiv positions herself diametrically from him, seeking, unknowingly or otherwise, to best him at his own game [proving her superiority and equal formidability — the one he overlooked — bc part of shiv's overcompensation is egotism].
shiv is very perfunctory, and part of that probably stems from trying to claim this aforementioned individuality, trying to not be a logan derivative, to be better™.
shiv is always working in her own interests, even her pursuits within waystar always center herself, and ofc vying for heir is an inherently individualistic pursuit, but does waystar mean anything to shiv, like personally, other than a chance to take and spite, even until the end, a purely aggrandizing venture. shiv is concerned only with her stature during her tenure, with the optics of it all (as ken would say heh), shiv is constantly trying to assert herself, and similarly to all the roy siblings, her one pursuit is her most thwarted.
now this may not all meld given than love and betrayal specifically are shiv's consequences by the end of the show [the two things i posit she most neglected, yet evidently trailed her most], her interpersonal bonds largely frayed, but its important to note HOW this unfolds, and that these consequences were [not only] unforeseen, but inadvertent and inevitable. to expand on this, it needs to be acknowledged that at the core of the "betrayal" is tom besting shiv, its matson picking him over her, and a consequent reversal of their dynamic, tom now becoming the apparatus with which she accesses power instead of the inverse — her needing tom instead of him her. sure she had use for him/extricated smth exclusive to him, but she never felt indebted to him, she never felt weighted, tom was a choice, and she stuck by him to prove its worth to her, to always have a dependable sunk cost. evidenced largely by WHY shiv would stay upon her father's condemnations, upon their marring of her character, her undeniability, and its bc what shiv needs, what shiv truly values is subservience, its dependence, its the feeling of control and doing tom "favors", her benevolence and his constant parasitism, as she leeches and undermines his personal needs — the transaction. earning, feeling good™.
shiv is a coward yes. there's nothing to lose when you're uninvested, but there's also nothing to gain when nothing matters, including those around you. shiv had undermined and undercut tom at every opportunity and disregarded his every evident discomfort at her betrayals. tom, despite the implicit tenuous transactional tone of their relationship, actually tried to humanize shiv, its far from mere waffling when tom says he's offered her endless validation, when he says her sense of identity is non-existent, he's accepted her slights, he's offered the simple life, he's even doubted the authenticity of her pregnancy despite most seeing his attempts at family to be entrapping shiv. in actuality, shiv began to panic when there was no one to posture to, when the vacuum of logan's validation/acknowledgment also ushered in tom's independence, his participation in the game, elevated from mere collateral or pawn.
interestingly enough, tho, shiv treats tom most favorably when he openly wants, when he rejects his own pretenses and frailty and is callous and unfeeling like her, as if goading and priming him for this very iteration — a man she built up, gave value, modest and ambitious, and notably, a similar archetype to her socialclimber father [and tom IS the new logan, a ruthless opportunist corroded by the elitist world into viewing others merely as capitol (e.g shiv). shiv legit marries her father — siggy freu boy would be proud]. shiv enjoys the antagonism, the freedom in unabashed cruelty, but its in her indulgence that she loses, that she underestimates and comes to, ironically, find value in the adoration and dependence tom once supplied.
the hand that feeds finally being bit.
to conclude, this can easily be construed as loyalty: validation, subservience - they are the mark of subjects, of subordinates, and one's subordinates are implicitly loyal, but does shiv require his heart? does she require his care? does she agonize over being "fcked for her dna", or does she tally, does she loom, waiting, waiting for tom to incur her moral adjudication, making him work for her notice otherwise, fashioning her missteps into technicalities and overreactions and transaction.
does shiv need tom, or does shiv need tom to need her? [does she need his loyalty, him — authentic, dedicated and uncalculated. — or what he can provide her, his unwavering need.
logan is right that she's marrying a man fathoms beneath her, but she never cared much for him, his qualities, his approval, his presence, his allegiance (or lackthereof) or dependability, it was the echoes of her own influence she most prized. not loyalty, but entrapment — just like her pappy lol].

Me 🇵🇭: After I've read his fan script TAWOG, I realized that tape-based media formats we're fragile, yet, otherwise an important item for the future media formats (such as all types of optical disk media formats, e.g. Bluray discs). 🔜💿 I myself, never experienced VCS/VCR, only once. But, I do experienced cassette tapes, though, back in my elementary days because my mom used to have tons of cassette tapes and listening it via cassette player/walkman. 📼🎶🎧🙂
Me 🇵🇭: (Meanwhile) A-Pal did a great job fanarting a canine from the forgotten 'Major Minor's Majestic March'. 🥁🎮 A Wii exclusive game that was utterly forgotten, but the animation style was the same guy who creates 'PaRappa the Rapper' and 'Um Jammer Lammy' (Mr. Rodney Greenblat [no relation to Mr. C.H. Greenblatt]). Even though, I don't know much about it nor playing these aforementioned three games. 🤔
Me 🇵🇭: (Meanwhile, pa/even more) When it comes of religion, I have no problems when it comes to selecting faith. 🙂 Heck, my buddy's artwork that was based on Jew was pretty interesting. Considering, that I'm a 'Catholic' faith, as well as Cude. ✝️ But Mayu? Well, she's an outsider, meaning she's not joined on any religion that the earth was offered. Keep in mind, Mayu was lived from another planet, and we're just don't know what faith that she joined. So, sure you could hang out with Mayu, but try not to attend your current faith with her. ☝️😮 Although, Mayu is not an officially "Catholic" faith, at least not yet. But, she's willing to celebrate "Easter Sunday", though. I know, its confusing.

Solar Control Window Film Can Also Help Improve Security At A Commercial Site - Stockfilms
Tumblr media
The primary reason to invest in solar control film for a building’s windows may be solar control – or to be more specific, the rejection of heat gain and solar glare – but it is still worth considering the security benefits that certain films of this type can bring.
With our own architectural solar control film products at Stockfilms encompassing the likes of internally applied and externally applied reflective films, as well as low-mirror and tinted offerings, the exact security and safety advantages can vary between products.
How can security be enhanced at a property when solar control film is installed?
The main way in which a solar control window film can help make a given premises more secure, is by decreasing visibility through the glass from the outside.
If a would-be intruder or criminal cannot see through the window easily to view the contents of the building, this can help make the property less of an obvious target.
Here are some of the specific products in our range that can hamper external visibility through the windows of commercial buildings such as an office:
We make available solar reflective films that are optically clear for people who look out of the building from the inside during the daytime, but which prevent people from easily looking into the property from the outside. This phenomenon is known as “one-way privacy”. Our bestselling Reflective Silver 20 film is one of our products that achieves such an effect; it transits 16% of visible light through the glass.
Our Dual Reflective Silver 05 and Dual Reflective Silver 15 films also allow for a one-way mirror effect to be achieved. The first of these products only permits 8% of visible light to be transmitted through the glass, rising to 15% in the case of the Silver 15 option.
If you are seeking a privacy-enhancing (and therefore security-boosting) solar control film with a more “muted” appearance than the mirrored look of traditional solar control films, a tinted option – such as NR Slate 05 – could be perfect. This product only allows 8% of visible light to pass through the window. It can be a fine option for improving security in a part of a building where there isn’t a need for much light transmission.
What else do you need to bear in mind about using solar control film to boost security?
If you are depending on the achievement of a one-way privacy effect to make your commercial premises more secure, you will need to be well-informed on what the effect will be both during the daytime and once the sun sets.
A daytime one-way privacy effect reverses after dark if the interior of the given building is illuminated. This would mean that occupants are unable to see out so clearly, but people from the outside would be able to easily see in.
The aforementioned dual reflective films are a type of solar control film that you might choose for a building where outward vision is crucial – for example, where there is a security gatehouse.
In the event that you do have a solar control film applied at a building for the one-way privacy effect, depending on your needs at the given site, you might opt for different measures – such as curtains or blinds – to ensure privacy at night.
For an in-depth conversation about your needs from solar control film, and to be pointed towards the most suitable product by the Stockfilms team, please call 020 8441 0449 now.

Low Vision Literature Review The impact of low vision on a person's quality of life can be devastating… people with low vision can improve their quality of life through rehabilitation services to teach them how to use their remaining vision more effectively. Using a variety of visual aids may bring them back or help them keep their independence (Kupfer, 1999 as cited in Windsor & Windsor, 2001). Low vision or vision loss has been operationally defined most commonly as that associated with macular degeneration due to age that accounts for more than half of all reported cases of visual impairment. There are other known causes of vision loss that include but may not be limited to corneal degeneration, eye injuries, traumatic brain injury, brain tumors, stroke, toxoplasmosis, optic atrophy, glaucoma, retinal dystrophies, retinal detachment, retinopathy of prematurity, achormatopsia and histoplasmosis (Windsor & Windsor, 2001). Moreover, visual impairment is described as having the ability to significantly impact every facet of a persons' life including the ability to work, recreationally as well as educationally. Additionally, all age brackets suffer in different aspects of their lives because of the impairment of low vision which can significantly impact independence for the elderly, career choices for adults, and potential educational and developmental delays for children. Literature review Windsor and Windsor in their 2001 article, "Low Vision Rehabilitation: An Introduction" posit the importance of utilizing all available and qualifying resources to aid those who are suffering with this condition. According to the most recent statistics quoted by the authors, there are approximately 135 million individuals worldwide who suffer with low vision and more than 14 million reside in the United States of America. In essence, one out of every 20 individuals is considered to be visually impaired, with approximately 120,000 who have light perception only or are completely blind (American Optometric Association, 1997). As such, the authors posit that given the aforementioned numbers, there are many individuals who have a great deal of residual vision and are therefore in the position to benefit from what has been termed low vision rehabilitation (Windsor & Windsor, 2001). Low vision rehabilitation for those who are visually impaired can involve any number of rehabilitative tools and techniques as well as a host of treatment modalities to include optical devices, prescription eye glasses, adaptive computer software, electronic aids, modification of the individual's environment, glare control, counseling as well as education of not only the patient but their family members as well regarding independent living aids, skills building and training, mobility training, driver rehabilitation, mental health intervention and occupational therapy (Windsor & Windsor, 2001). Subsequent to a careful examination by an ophthalmologist or optometrist that has proven skills in low vision rehabilitation, low vision rehabilitation can take place. Part of the examination is determining what the underlying causes of the symptomology are related to whether injury or disease (Windsor & Windsor, 2001). According to the authors, each disease or injury has specific functional characteristics and need to be understood within that contextual frame of reference. Conversely, those individuals with central retinal disorders that may manifest as histoplasmosis maculopathy, age related macular degeneration or Stargardt's may present to the specialist with central vision loss and photophobia but still maintain peripheral vision. Mobility of the patient may be substantial in that they are able to ambulate but have difficulty with facial recognition. The functional and physical limitations associated with low vision are then needed to be determined by an ophthalmologist or optometrist (Windsor & Windsor, 2001). Patient's visual acuity and refractive status can be more accurately measured with low vision refractive techniques (Windsor & Windsor, 2001). This kind of examination or testing purportedly employs control of illumination, larger testing charts, techniques that facilitate eccentric viewing and the use of trial frame refraction. These special techniques used for testing may not be the same in the patients home as when conducted by a special as it relates to visual acuity. For those patients that are non-verbal, special tools and techniques have been developed to ensure examinations can be performed in the most accurate way possible (Scott, et al., 1999; Windsor & Windsor, 2001). Understanding the individuals functioning vision level is most often secured through the use of a grid referred to as Amsler, laser scanning opthalmoscope, contrast sensitivity electroretinogram and visual evoked potential. With contrast sensitivity examinations, the eye's ability to discern subtleties vs. issues black and white visual acuity are measured (van Rens, Chmielowski & Lemmens, 1991). The Behavioral Inattention Test, according to experts, is an assistive screening tool for those individuals who suffer with right brain injury and have unilateral or hemified neglect and may then experience mimic hemianoptic field loss. Another significant portion of the low vision examination is also the dilated internal examination wherein the intraocular pressures as well as the health of the external eye are examined (Windsor & Windsor, 2001). At present, there are many low vision systems that are used as a part of the low vision rehabilitation process. For example, magnification through magnifiers, strong bifocals, and telescopes are frequently used to aid those suffering with low vision. New techniques such as the auto focus and closed circuit television are all new technologies designed to assist those with low vision (Windsor & Windsor, 2001). There are also tools readily available as part of low vision rehabilitation that address the issue of glare and light control. Most often, some form of filtering system is institute to reduce shorter wavelength light transmission. Windsor ad Windsor maintain the importance of taking into consideration issues with glare and light both internally and externally with the use of visors and hats aiding in the reduction of these two issues when light and glare are an issue out of doors. With the advent of computer technology and with the increased use of computers in many individuals' daily lives, a new set of challenges has been established for individuals who suffer with low vision. As such, new adaptive technologies are being developed that include large letter keyboards, larger monitors, software for screen enlargement, voice activated systems, dedicated computer eyewear as well as new telescopic systems (Windsor & Windsor, 2001). However, authors do warn that in order for these systems to be most effective, they must be integrated in a comprehensive way to garner the greatest level of benefit. Conclusion Low vision or vision loss has been operationally defined most commonly as that associated with macular degeneration due to age that accounts for more than half of all reported cases of visual impairment. Visual impairment is described as having the ability to significantly impact every facet of a persons' life including the ability to work, recreationally as well as educationally. Additionally, all age brackets suffer in different aspects of their lives because of the impairment of low vision which can significantly impact independence for the elderly, career choices for adults and potential educational and developmental delays for children. The low vision rehabilitation plan includes the individual patients' history, a physical examination, a test of their current level of vision and functionality and a determination as to which low vision aids may be the most effective and in combination garner the greatest benefit for the client. According to Massof with the Wilmer Eye Institute, reduction in the level of difficulty with regard to the performance of specific goals or objectives as well as the reduction in the significance of tasks by instructing the individual on alternative ways in which they can achieve their desired goals (Lighthouse Inc., 1995). With the use of the Visual Functioning Questionnaire by Scott et al. Of the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, more than 98% of those participating in the study showed marked improvement with care and another 53.2% reflected finding low vision services to be very useful. Authors of the study determined that high patient satisfaction have been associated with low vision services (Alliance for Eye and Vision Research, 1995). WATCH: Elon Musk Delivers Ice-Cold Response to Elissa Slotkin After She Calls Him Out in Rebuttal Speech
Tumblr media
Special Government Employee Elon Musk delivered a hefty amount of shade towards Elissa Slotkin (MI)
Tumblr media
after the Democrat senator called him out during her response to President Trump's joint address to Congress on Tuesday.
Fox News senior national correspondent Aishah Hasnie briefly questioned Musk about Slotkin's remarks as he walked with Rep. Lisa McClain (R-MI).
Tumblr media
"What do you want to say to Elissa Slotkin?" Hasnie wondered. "She called you out by name."
You could see the wheels churning away inside Musk's head. This is, after all, the same man who recently said his cellphone number was "something 8008."
“Uh ... I don’t know who she is,” Musk replied.
The delivery prompted Slotkin's fellow Michigander, Rep. McClain, to burst out laughing.
Brutal. It's just about right after a comment like that when the "Finish Her!" message shows up on the screen in Mortal Kombat.
Musk occasionally gets criticism for his sophomoric behavior (see the aforementioned "boobs" joke), but honestly, this is the best approach in dealing with Democrats at this point. Let them scream and stew about your work at DOGE while you're just out here living the best life.
America gets to see the left consistently raging, as they did at Trump's speech, while the administration is perpetually enjoying their work as they set about course-correcting the country. It's good optics.
While Slotkin herself wasn't part of the rage cabal, her rebuttal speech attempted to deliver some counterpoints to the President, and Musk, as usual, was a target of the Democrat's ire.
Elissa Slotkin Gives Rebuttal to Trump's Joint Address Cementing Her Role As a Political Placeholder
Dem Rep’s ‘This Is Not Normal’ Sign at Trump Speech Goes Airborne After Fed Up Republican Launches It
Slotkin warned all three viewers of her speech that Trump would increase the national debt and, "if he's not careful ... could walk us right into a recession."
This is rich, considering the previous administration did just that but tried to cover it up by magically redefining the word "recession."
Slotkin then went after Musk and insisted he and the president would come after Americans' retirement plans.
"In order to pay for his plan, he could very well come after your retirement – the Social Security, Medicare, and VA benefits you worked your whole life to earn," she said. "The president claims he won't, but Elon Musk just called Social Security 'the biggest Ponzi scheme of all time.'"
Slotkin used that as a jumping-off point to attack Musk and "his gang of 20-year-olds using their own computer servers to poke through your tax returns, your health information, and your bank accounts."
Odd, isn't it, how Democrats keep disparaging Musk's 20-year-old tech nerds but spent years leading up to the presidential election suggesting the voting age should be lowered to allow teenagers a chance to decide elections?
"We need more efficient government. You want to cut waste, I'll help you do it," Slotkin lamented in her anti-Musk screed. "But change doesn't need to be chaotic or make us less safe."
Change isn't truly change unless it is chaotic.
Elon Musk and DOGE are bringing much-needed accountability to our out-of-control bureaucracy as they take a chainsaw to rampant waste, fraud, and abuse.

One must possess the patience of Job,

Blogpost 6
Our reading for this week was the fifth chapter of our textbook, which focused on Syntax and Communication. Syntax is very important when constructing type and is important for legibility and understanding. Syntax includes the overall elements of the design: letter, word, line, column, and margin. The examples given on page 89 and page 107 highlight these qualities in sync and in practice. Page 105's example by designer Nick Schrenk also shows those elements in a perspective approach, where the type will appear differently depending on how far or close you are while viewing it, like an optical illusion of sorts. All of this discussed in this chapter is pretty important for project 3 since we must consider all of these once again when creating these shapes. The aforementioned example I think is perfect to look at for inspiration on how to handle our approach to this project. Overall, the chapter was very interesting and the examples given were a treat to see. I will definitely be using some of the examples for inspiration going forward.
As for progress on project 3, this week I decided to do the letters A, D, and M. For A I went with a crystal look, it's a bit rough but I might try another approach soon. For D I went with darkness, as in a background of darkness enshrouding the letter form. I wanted to go with something a bit ominous and foggy but it didn't come out too well as it did in my head, that's something I can work on though in the meantime. For M I went with a Music Note, felt a triple cleft(?) would work well. It's a bit basic but I can liven it up in post processing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Regarding our ongoing project, project 2, I'm finalizing my designs at this time in my sketchbook and when I think I've got it I'll move into illustrator to clean it all up.

What Causes High Eye Pressure and How to Reduce It?
Many eye-related concerns and fatal conditions, like glaucoma, can be caused by increased intraocular pressure, commonly known as higher pressure inside the eye. A permanent loss of eyesight and serious visual difficulties may result from this elevated pressure, which can also harm the optic nerve. Maintaining ocular pressure within the normal range becomes crucial, considering this. The reasons, signs, and treatments for elevated intraocular pressure will all be covered in this piece. Maintaining proper eye health and maintenance can be greatly aided by having learned these facts.
Tumblr media
What is High Eye Pressure?
Medical terminology refers to high eye pressure, or ocular hypertension, as a condition when the intraocular pressure, or pressure inside the eye, rises above normal. Considering the range, the typical eye pressure is considered within the range of 10 mm Hg and 21 mm Hg. If your ophthalmologist finds that the eye pressure has surpassed this range, they may suggest a few more tests and start high eye pressure treatment.
Although eye pressure cannot be regarded as an illness in itself, it may be a sign of an underlying condition such as glaucoma. As elevated eye pressure can eventually cause damage to the optic nerve and severe visual impairment, it is crucial to detect it and treat it as soon as possible.
Causes of High Eye Pressure
Knowing what elevated ocular pressure means, it is imperative to ascertain the reason for an increase in ocular pressure above normal. The following are the most typical reasons for excessive ocular pressure:
Overproduction of Aqueous: The excessive production of aqueous humor, or the fluid in the eye, is one of the primary causes of high intraocular pressure. Aqueous humor can build up and exert more pressure inside the eye when it is produced at a pace that exceeds its drainage.
Slow Aqueous Drainage: An additional factor leading to the buildup of aqueous humor in the eye is a malfunctioning drainage mechanism.
Eye Trauma: Eye trauma can result in an imbalance between the aqueous humor’s production and drainage, which raises the pressure inside the eyes.
Medication: Some drugs, especially steroids and steroidal eye drops, can potentially raise the intraocular pressure.
Other Eye Conditions: Pigment Dispersion Syndrome and corneal arcus are examples of conditions that are also associated with increased eye pressure.
Symptoms
The following are some of the common symptoms of elevated intraocular pressure:
Pain in and around the eyes- A throbbing or soreness, particularly while moving.
Blurred vision-Impairment of clear vision.
Blind areas- The visual field contains blind areas.
Red eyes- Irritability and redness
Eye Soreness- Sensitivity and pain.
Headaches- headaches that never go away.
Your ophthalmologist may run certain tests to measure your intraocular pressure in order to determine the best course of action if you experience any or all of the aforementioned symptoms.
Treatment of High Eye Pressure
Both medication and surgery are methods employed to manage excessive ocular pressure. Primarily, your ophthalmologist will use pharmaceutical eye drops to lower intraocular pressure. If medication and eye drops fail to reduce the elevated pressure, your ophthalmologist might recommend surgery as a treatment option.
Medications
Topical medications: The first phase of treatment is typically eye drops that either decrease the amount of fluid produced in the eye or enhance its evacuation.
Oral Medications: If eye drops fail to work, a prescription for an oral drug may be given.
Lifestyle Changes
Healthy Diet: Consuming a well-balanced diet that includes plenty of zinc, copper, selenium, and the vitamins C, E, and A can help maintain eye health. Two especially healthy foods are leafy greens and omega-3 fatty acids.
Physical activity: Physical activity on a regular basis can help lower eye pressure, but it’s crucial to stay away from exercises that strain the eyes.
Limit Your Caffeine Intake: It’s advisable to consume caffeine in moderation, as too much of it can raise your ocular pressure.
Stress Reduction: Eye pressure can be controlled with the help of stress-reduction methods such as yoga, meditation, and other approaches.
 Advanced Treatments
Laser therapy: This treatment could improve the eye’s ability to clear liquid.
Surgical Procedures: In more extreme circumstances, new drainage channels might be created during surgery to release pressure.
Preventative Measures
Preventing high blood pressure and its potential negative effects demands maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The following are some preventative actions to think about:
• Routine eye exams: Consulting your ophthalmologist on a regular basis might help identify changes in eye pressure early on. • Protective eyewear: Using protective eyewear might help avoid trauma-induced pressure rise when engaging in activities that could injure the eyes. • Keep an Eye on Your Health: Controlling long-term health issues like diabetes and high blood pressure can also help lower eye pressure. • Good Habits: Reducing alcohol intake and smoking can help maintain general eye health.
Potential Consequences of High Eye Pressure
If left untreated, high ocular pressure can result in a number of complications. The most serious threat is developing glaucoma, which can result in vision loss and irreparable damage to the optic nerve. For the early detection and prevention of glaucoma, routine eye exams are crucial.
Maintaining eye health requires routine eye exams, particularly for people who are at risk of high eye pressure. In order to identify any early indicators of glaucoma or other eye disorders, an ophthalmologist can measure intraocular pressure, evaluate the optic nerve, and conduct visual field tests during an eye exam. Vision protection and the prevention of major eye illnesses can be achieved through early detection and treatment.

Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra vs iPhone 15 Pro Max
Tumblr media
Smartphone Battle
Considering both the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra and the Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max, and these flagship smartphones are the superior option for the year 2024?
At the Galaxy Smartphone manufacturing, the company finally disclosed its flagship S24 Ultra series, and this has been the topic of talk and speculation for some months. Using exactly Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset for the galaxy the Korean smartphones maker presented three new models that all share the same CPU capabilities. The aforementioned processors are going to bring about performance increases with respect to the conventional Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, as demonstrated by the realization that the name comprises the line “For Galaxy.”
Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra
Display Technology
The touchscreen found on the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra comes with a breathtaking 6.8-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED a double panel that has an update rate of 120 hertz. The vision Booster, offering improves viewing in the open air by delivering display extraordinary maximum light intensity of 2,600 nits. The Samsung brand has taken an example out of the Google notebook this year providing seven years of assured protection and operating enhancements to the system with the new S24 series. This is in contrast to the iPhone 15 Pro Max, which is yet to receive these updates. Although Apple has yet to release a formal statement on the length of time that its iPhone 15 series will be handled the organization has earned a solid track record for providing assistance to its products for an extended period of time. It is important to note that the iOS 17 update was additionally applied to the iPhone XS and XR, both of which were introduced in 2018.
Furthermore, when it comes to software, Samsung has a significant head start on Apple. Starting with the S24 series, Samsung will be releasing new features that are filled with generative artificial intelligence. Several artificial intelligence technologies that are driven by Google’s Gemini Pro language model will be included in the next smartphone that the Korean smartphone manufacturer has confirmed would be included. A number of important features, such as Live Translate, Interpreter, Chat Assist, and Transcript Assist, have been introduced in conjunction with the S24 series announcement.
Considering the fact which Apple’s iOS 17 has earned a reputation as the most developed mobile operating system available right now, the Cupertino-based computer giant hasn’t yet incorporated autonomous artificial intelligence capability into iOS. This is the case due to Apple maintains complete authority throughout both the software and the hardware associated with the device.
It is possible that Samsung’s edge may not last for long. A story that was published by Bloomberg earlier this year suggests that Apple is already working on its generative artificial intelligence-based service, which is being referred to as AppleGPT. This offering may be driven by Apple’s proprietary Ajax language paradigm.

"I'm sorry you've never met your carrier?" Baileen hadn't meant to be so blunt, but she had to consider the aforementioned war.
Cybertronian history and mostly all affiliated territories had been drenched with the whispers or happenings of war. As an Aquatronian, most of her feelings when it came to the topic were probably lofty at best.
The only wars she had experienced thus far have been personal ones.
"Were the Quintessons that bad?"
She had to recount everything that they had done. Green optics fixated themselves on the ceiling for a short moment before answering.
"Let's see...Aside from being taken against my will...my cohorts and I were forced to entertain usually while operating on the brink of energon starvation. We were well groomed, but only so our "beauty" could be weighed." The Leviacon had basically spat the word.
"If there had been any flaw...any break in character, any chipped paint, or sign of fatigue during any of our performances... we... we were..." Her silence spoke volumes... There was a reason she had been the only one left.
"I may not be the last of the Aquatronians, but I do know what loneliness is. Sometimes, a taste of it can seem like it lasts for eons."
Return home.
@fromwhencehastthoucomest
For years the Decepticon were fighting thr Autobot but now this Quintessons joined the Autobots and been taking live Cons for this experiment just make it harder to fight in this war.
But not all saw them as a big problem yes they did manage to get some cone but not to the point will hurt, Omegasky and Galvatron where trying get in thr ship of the Quintessons to rescue and kill the strange beings. The careless Seeker offer that she'll let the multiple face capture her so she can get in the ship. Galvatron wasn't too thrilled but agreed to help the other Cons who might me still alive.
After some fights with the Quintessons OS let's herself get caught and ended up in the Quintessons ship, the Seeker was knocked put but that didn't last long.
She took in her surrounding before changing into her Sparkeater form, her frame let's out hot air as her frame breaks to accommodate the new side. Her tails swings side to side before pulling the vent and breakd it open to use it to go around.
As OS goes around quietly as she puts small explosives inside the vents but she immediately realised there was a bot in the bridge, she careful got close to see if there was any one there before going in the bridge. Once she made sure she open the vent and jumped down to see the bot if they were okay.

Tumblr media
Oh yeah also here's a screenshot of my other in-the-works project that I haven't had a lot of time to work on in the middle of trying to crowdfund our fucking groceries and survive capitalism.
If you want to help support this project, pledge to my Patreon.
I haven't posted many updates so far in 2023, but that's directly because of the aforementioned "I'm really exhausted trying to survive capitalism." Did I mention how tired I am of begging for grocery money on tumblr? Because I'm pretty tired of having to beg for grocery money on tumblr.

A History of Queer American Animation
by Ren Basel
Thesis
The late 2010s saw a turning point in queer representation in animation, with the production of shows such as Steven Universe and She-Ra & the Princesses of Power—but they weren’t the first cartoons to show queer characters. Queerness has a long history in American animated media, stretching back to the very foundations of the medium.

Before Mickey: The Animated Film 1898-1928, by Donald Crafton
Cinema had already gained a reputation as “highbrow” and “intellectual” by the 1920s.
From its origins, animation was regarded as a “minor branch” of cinema. In the silent film period, animation was considered commercially insignificant by distributors and scholars.
Steamboat Willie premiered at the Colony Theater in New York on November 18, 1928, and was the animated equivalent to the live-action film “The Jazz Singer,” bringing together moving pictures and synchronized sound.
The cinema came into existence in 1895. The specific origins of animation, however, are hazy, with the first commercial animation appearing in 1898, but no clear record of when animation technology really “began.”
Precursors of modern animation include historical sequential art such as hieroglyphic friezes, Chinese scrolls, and the Bayeux Tapestry. Other examples of proto-animation include magic lanterns, the Fantascope, slide projections, shadow plays, and other optical tricks and curiosities.
Emile Reynaud (1844-1918), often called “the father of the animated cartoon,” was a teacher of math and science. He created the praxinoscope, a gadget that used revolving mirrors to reflect drawings, which the viewer could see without looking through slits as in prior moving-picture devices. In 1879, Reynaud refined the tabletop “praxinoscope theater,” and further developed the device into an audience theater in 1892, called the Theatre Optique in Paris.
Many animation pioneers were inspired by flipbooks.

I spent most of today scrolling through AITA posts on Reddit. Which made me wonder - if Reddit had existed in Grima's time, what kind of AITA posts would he make?
I (44m) murdered my boss's (71m) son (41m) so I could sell the whole company out to a rival organization. The new boss (10,192m) said I could have the old boss's daughter (26f) as my reward. Her brother (29m) suspects me, but I forged some documents and got rid of him as well. AITA?
hahahahah he's so messy
Reddit would have SO many opinions and he'd ignore every single one of them.
That said I feel like he'd frame it so he was the sad meow meow of the situation. Like this is Grima, positioning and optics are premium importance so he'd skew the matter a bit to emphasize certain things and leave out other details:
I (44[?]m) have been experiencing a great amount of existential dread over the inevitable end of the world and feel that my king (71m) is not in a position to keep me safe. (oh, and our people, of course.) I have also been working for my king for many years and feel that I have not been appreciated for my efforts nor adequately rewarded. I spend all day supporting him in all he does and I'm still treated like a servant.
Recently, I was approached with a proposition by the neighbouring political power (10,192m) to betray my king BUT it would allow me to ensure that we become a vassal state to the aforementioned existential threat to our existence (??m?) which would reduce the chance of my being horrifically murdered by his henchmen (also our people safe blahblahblah). In addition, the neighbouring political power promised to reward me properly for my efforts and loyalty including, but not limited to, money, power, safety, and the current king's niece (24f).
The catch is that I would have to destabilize my country, poison/witchcraft my king, possibly aide and abet the murder of his son (41m), and exile and/or execute his nephew (28m). Considering the broader political ramifications if I don't take this path (annihilation/abject subjugation at the hands of the aforementioned existential threat), AITA for (possibly) accepting this offer?
replies:
horselordaldburg3: YTA obviously. How is this a question? How is this even something you think you need to ask?? Also, you didn't mention that you're one of the most powerful people in the country with wealth and status given to you by the king! Nor have you mentioned that we have allies and friends to help us in our fight against the Existential Evil. I feel like there are some details that are pertinent to people's review of this and you should include them. Snake.
DernhelmShieldofRohan: fuck you, YTA. Also, ew. I'm repulsed. I hope you choke on hay and die. Sit on a shiv and rotate.
MinasTirith: ESH, I think. Since I suspect you're not wrong on some fronts (if power and wealth are solely dependent on the king and would vanish with his death, that's not really a true repayment for services rendered because it keeps you dependent), however you could grow a spine and develop a sense of moral fortitude and overall decency.
That said, how much is the neighbouring power offering you? In terms of money, lmk and I'll see if I can't beat his price. Niece is not on offer because what the fuck? (see: your need to develop a sense of overall decency).
HornofGondor: Father! You can't buy people's loyalty like that.
MinasTirith: I'm speaking to OP in the language OP understands.
KingoftheMark: slfnsf dfsldkjf sddm
HeirofEorl: dad, get off your tablet. OP - YTA and we're going to have a wee little chat soon.
OP: Can it wait? There are some orcs coming in near the Fords of Isen that you need to see off.
