I would love your full thoughts on the AI debate. I think it can become a very useful tool for artists but that’s my non artists opinion
A few months back, I was telling my partner how the AI-generated art at this moment in time reminds me of the works of the Surrealists. The Surrealists were big on drawing from dreams and the subconscious, and came up with a bunch of games and exercises designed to stimulate creativity by divorcing your conscious mind from the artistic process. I said that so far humanity hadn't created a conscious AI, but I wondered aloud if we hadn't created a subconscious AI. I guess that's why some of these programs have names like "Deep Dream" and "Dall-E".
My partner said, "You're so high right now." And I was. But I still think that we created something, and it's dreaming. And it's very much listening to what we're whispering in its ear.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The problem some people have with AI-generated art is that it steals art from actual living and dead human artists in order to create its works. It's considered poor taste among humans to steal someone's artwork and present it as your own. But we are allowed to collage and to nip around the edges of copyrights until we can find something we're actually allowed to do. So it seems like a grey area.
The real problem though, is that it absolutely will steal your jorb. And my jorb. I can definitely see a not-too-distant future where anyone will be able to sit down and spend a couple of days crafting their own full-length motion picture with AI assistance, and have it look as good as or better than anything we've got today. Not everyone is a storyteller, but I think it'll really open up the field for almost anyone to try. The next Stephen Spielberg could be just some sixteen year old kid on the internet, and I think that scares a lot of employed artists. Because even employed artists are just sort of barely employed.
In the end, it just sort of seems like one of those things (there are so many!) that you just can't do anything about. Studios are always looking to pinch pennies, and there's no way the biggies aren't funding research into this stuff. The really dark times will be when the studios have the tech and the public hasn't gotten its hands on it yet. Things are gonna get weird.
Artists are going to have to deal with AI the same way so many other industries will. More and more, I think it's the changes coming for society at large that people dread. We humans certainly don't seem to be very good at preparing for the inevitable.
In the short term, let it inspire you if you want. The way you might let a dream inspire you. Definitely don't claim it as your own work. Maybe every once in a while type in, "Thanks for all of the inspiration, AI. You're really cool." And then hope it remembers your kind words on Judgment Day.

is it just me or do others not get why people would say a certain gender not to interact with a fic. because as someone that is male and doesn't get a lot of male fics for male characters it's makes it so hard to look at other fic because like i don't know if i should read it, even when i don't get many fics myself.
i love all kinds of writing and even though i identify as male i still like to read female reader fics as it can be written different to how you would a male one as characters would act different to certain genders.
but that doesn't mean that you can't make fics just for some genders. it just means that just because someone is a certain gender doesn't mean they can't read what you wrote.
i love reading fics with female readers as a sometime but as a male that likes male characters it get hard to find fics for me so saying things like only female/male can read this is to me basically saying that you write for only these people and that reading this is wrong and you should be ashamed to read this.
now this is just my oppinion and it is ok if you disagree with me as i understand if you want to do that but you need to realise that male readers like to read female readers as we don't get many of male readers for male characters in some fandoms because it is made for female fans and stuff.
same with female readers liking to read male readers as they find the fic really cool and just like whaat you wrote not caring that it is not the gender they are and sometimes it is just they don't get that many fics for females in their fandom.

So I was telling my friend about Ranfren, and she told me there was some controversy around the author? Is it okay to promote the comic or a way to consume it ethically???
Also, what did Captain Howdie do?
I’m really enjoying the comic and the media surrounding it, but I’m afraid that I might be promoting something bad if I keep on consuming it. I don’t follow Captain Howdie on twitter cuz I don’t have it? Did something happen there.

Warning ⛔️ triggering content up ahead, proceed with caution or do not read.
I think I’m gonna write a mini novel on Israel and why she was never mentioned in Hetalia…
I’m gonna call it, “the apology” or something along those lines because quite honestly …
Like I feel it would be just inspiring to have her in there and since you know, Jewish population and ww2 and yeah I don’t really need to get into too much detail here at the moment, but writing it of course in a perspective coming from someone who has had family that survived the Shoah … I feel I should be the one to write of such things. It’s a way for me to cope and deal with the antisemitism I have to deal with in the world.
Also I would definitely put in there my headcanon and my own variation of “Auf Wiedersehen , sweetheart” as in addition to “The Apology”.
And instead it’s, “Ikh bin bahaltn, meyn libe” - translated to, ‘I’m Hiding, My love.’
And it’s about Israel before she was recognized and was living in the country Germany at the time. She had an occupation as a cleaning girl and maid service , because the last job she had before was a perfume designer in France , but that had plummeted after the Great Depression. So she had to find a job that she could make money with despite the hardship. Eventually she went from being living middle class to barely making ends meet by the time she migrated to Germany right before the ww2.
Obviously due to the context that would be in this, is a very sensitive and difficult subject that would not be ideal for all readers, so if mentionings of genocide and holocaust are something you can’t read, then I definitely say do not engage any further of this blog, the last thing I want to do is cause any psychological harm.
I would also like to point out that the small novel I’m thinking of doing would have a lot of topics that would be considered sensitive and very controversial subjects. Mentions of a lot of topics that are DDDNE.
And Germany in his meeting of Israel would be very very very historically multi facet. Some that would be more pleasant, and some that would be considered very negative.
I would also try and keep this in character as much as I could , given how Ludwig’s (Germany) personality is very apologetic and was also apprehensive during that entire time, I will be sticking to that but also strict, militant attitude.
More than likely this will be referenced a bit off of Love it Was Not (by the way, a very educational and interesting documentary that I recommend for those to watch, especially in the day and age)

Nerds and Geeks Unite!
hi, I’ve only had this for a few days so I don’t know if anyone will see this but I have to at least try and get the news out.
to all d&d players who want to stop this blatant cash grab and keep them from pushing this terrible idea through I have some news.
In case you don’t know, the people in charge are currently only looking at d&d Beyond subscriptions accounts and nothing else. If they loose a big enough percentage or better yet just lose all of them entirely they might figure out that we will not tolerate this bullshit.
We need to get this info to everyone immediately. Right now the people in charge see this as a ‘drama of the week thing’ and think this will all blow over. DO NOT LET IT!
It’s time we reminded these idiots of something they have clearly forgotten.
D&D EXISTS FOR US! IT DOES NOT EXIST FOR THEM!

Victoria secret controversy
It’s been 4 years since the VS shows came to an end, mostly because of the backlash they received due to the toxic body image that they were promoting. I was a fan of these shows, I thought it was beautiful and I loved all the angels. However, once I found out about the way angels were forced to loose weight, I was disgusted and I think it’s tragic that some “fans” expect the show to be like that again. Not only was it extremely harmful for the angels themselves but also for us as viewers. Of course, I’m not saying that we should be promoting obesity (as someone once accused me of when explaining this to them) all I hope for is that we will see strong, healthy, beautiful bodies on the runway when it returns.
Many have opposed the VS shows coming back, but not for the reason I had expected. Some didn’t want it to return as they didn’t think it would be the same. I, for one, thought that would be obvious, as we as a society have changed drastically since 2018 and so the fashion industry was forced to do the same. I’ve seen complaints on how they want “real” supermodels and not body diversity which I think is ridiculous. Body diversity is so important for young people all over the world. It’s horrible for kids to only have one type of body to look up to. What happens if they don’t have that body? What happens to their mental health? I’m sure you know the answer. On top of that, I don’t think body diversity should be their main concern. If what they want is “real super models” then surely the main issue is nepo baby’s with terrible walks. “Real supermodels” don’t have to be skinny, they have to be passionate about their job and have a fun, interesting walk. They are the ones that work hard, rather than those who get every thing handed to them on a silver platter. Overall, we don’t need certain sized models, we need talented models. I think that peoples priorities, in this situation, are all wrong.
I can’t wait for the VS show later this year, I hope that during these 4 years they’ve had time to reflect and improve to make it suitable the new society but still be just as, if not more, iconic.

The controversial chick flick of 2016, GhostBusters: Who You Gonna Call (that's the full name, it's on the end credits, but the beginning title only says GhostBusters for some reason, and it's also called GhostBusters: Answer the call... Let's just stick with Ghostbusters!
IMPORTANT NOTE: I will NOT be comparing this film to the original two films. These films are different entities and will be treated as such.
The Story
The story is about a University Science Teacher who sees that an old friend of hers has published a book they wrote in highschool which theories the existence of ghosts.
The first part of the film (all of the ghostbusters being established and meeting each other) is definitely the weakest part of the film. Some of the jokes are really cringeworthy and the beginning is definitely rushed.
But once you get past that first hurdle, you are in for a real treat! The story isn't a very serious one, in fact, it never takes itself too seriously. It knows it's dumb and it ravishes in its silliness. Even some of the special effects look cheap and silly! It emphases on the less serious tone of the film and it somehow works!
Watching this film really reminds me of High School DxD. The first couple of episodes that set up the plot isn't that great, but once you are over that hurdle, you will enjoy it's silly, dumb ride.
The Characters
The biggest reason why the first third of the film is so weak is because the characters on their own are really dull, boring and unoriginal. But once they are together, the interactions of the characters are so funny! The best one out of the lot of them is the teacher's fat friend. She is so nuts and over the top that it's hard not to laugh when she's in a skit.
The inventor really reminds me of Haruko Haruhara from the anime FLCL (why does this film make me keep thinking of anime?) just by how crazy and punkish she is. I wish she had more jokes than the over the top gadgets, but she isn't a bad character.
The side characters are quite weak. The only side character I really remember is the secretary for the Ghostbusters just by how much I can relate to him. It is implied by his actions that he does seem to have a mild form of Aspergers Syndrome and it doesn't put any stereotype of the disability in any way. Plus, he is the most funny character in the film (other than the teacher's fat friend).
The Special Effects
The special effects don't look that great, but when it's a silly film like this, really nice CGI won't suit the film in the least. But the special effects suits the tone of the film well.
I he film also givens some nods to the fans of the original films such as mentioning Zuul in the post credit scene (if you stick around to see all of the end credits at the cinema), and others which I won't give away.
Some of the acting from the extras is terrible (such as the tour guide at the beginning of the film) and you can tell that they didn't know what they were doing.
Final Thoughts
Overall, this is a great movie, but it has some serious flaws that might put some people off from watching the film (plus, the trailer has had a lot of dislikes on YouTube) and many reviewers who were fans of the original bashed this film to the point of being to biased. Even though I enjoyed this film, I do understand why some people don't like it. But don't treat it as the worst film ever made. I can assure you that there is a lot worse out there.
I think the main reason why this film is hated by the fans of the originals is because the original films were very manly films, while a this film is more of a chick flick. I'm not saying all fans of the original hate this film. But this film is definitely targeted to the female audience and it knows how to make females laugh!
So don't end up cursing the creators of the film when you become a ghost, they clearly knew that they were taking a lot of risks with this film, and in this reviewer's opinion, it paid off. So, please spare him so I don't have to spend 100s of pounds on a phone bill from New York City to call...
You know who I'm gonna call!
The Story 4/5 The Characters 3.5/5 The Special Effects 3.5/5
Overall 3.5/5

I know i don't post much but here's something I'd like to talk about. I hate the terms Yuri, Yaoi, BL, GL. It sexualizes Gay and Lesbian relationships, most of the time it's used for purely sexual things. If your thinking "How would we know if it's queen or not? I want a good queen love story!" Simply put LGBTQ+ and call it a day! People strive for Love is Love yet put tags like Yaoi or Yuri on post. It's not like straight relationships have a term like that (that I know of). I want equal rights for love. That doesn't mean this "Gay > straight" or this "lesbian > straight" I mean this "Lgbtq+ = staright"

The Hazbin Hotel Alastor Voodoo Controversy Explained
People that complain about small details like this have nothing else to do.. boohoo they have schedules in his animation. So fucking what?
This reminds me about their ocarina of Time original art and the music from the fire temple controversy. The only people who complained about it were the minority who never played the game in the first place.
And the clip of the music that was used in the background along with the distorted image had no real relation. The music used in the background of the ocarina of Time was off of a music mix that had multiple different cultures.
We need to stop this culture war b******* that everybody's going on about every time an artist apply something unique.
