Because people are talking about it the comments, Im gonna cover what I would/will do if I ever get around to writing this. Not going in super detail but thought I'd clarify.

So; Danny's relationship with the BatFam

Danny's first run in with Batman and Robin is soon after he moves into Gotham. Batman and Robin are checking him out as a newbie to Gotham after his background check looked sketchy due to his parents. Danny pretty much immediately disliked Batman, what with him encouraging childhood Vigilanteism, but he stayed out of his way.

On the front of Bruce Wayne, he clocked immediately that Bruce was hiding something, he's just not totally sure what, and he tries to keep Tim as far from Bruce Wayne as possible, even if that means Danny has to go to stuffy Gala's and Parties. He wants Tim to be a kid, so he let the Drake partners coach him on how to blend in.

Tim becomes Robin/helps Batman behind Danny's back. Danny takes a little while to figure it out because he respects Tim's boundaries and doesn't snoop around, but after two weeks of Tim coming home with some sort of injury, no matter how small, he starts thinking he's being bullied, and while Tim won't talk about it, Danny starts giving him some self defense lessons.

Eventually Tim comes clean, and while Danny assures Tim he's not angry at him, as soon as Tim is tucked into bed that night, Danny storms over to Bruce's house, because it all finally clicks. Jason, the poor kid, had passed away not long ago and a new Robin was instated, Bruce is sketchy and hiding something, and Dick is far too casual with Tim, who Danny has only seen interact twice at social events.

As soon as Alfred opens the door Danny, politely, excuses himself, barges in, walking up to Bruce's study and decks him in the face as hard as normal humanly possible(he holds back all his ghost strength). I won't go into the full conversation, but Danny essentially gives Bruce serious dressing down on how he is allowing children to galavant through the city and fight full adults, some with powers, and how irresponsible and stupid it is. Danny doesn't let him get a word in as he scolds, and rants at him for almost thirty minutes about how he's an adult, he's supposed to protect children, not train them for crimefighting. When Danny finally starts to trail off, Bruce insists they wanted to help him, and Danny asks something along the lines of; "Did they? Or were they scared that if they didn't, you would leave them?" Admittedly that was Danny just being bitter and purposefully hurtful, but it does give Bruce something to think about as Danny finally leaves, apologizing only to Alfred as he excuses himself.

The next day Danny sits Tim down, tells him about being Phantom, and asks if being Robin, a Vigilante, a hero, is really what he wants to do. He wants him to really think about it, and for once Danny is really serious, and blunt as he lays out the true, hard facts of what that world is like, he could be hurt, or killed, his relationships can and will suffer because, try as you might, saving the day always comes first. He leaves Tim to think hard on it, and when Tim decides that yes, it's what he wants, Danny says okay. Because Tim gets a choice, maybe Danny didnt, but Tim got a choice in the matter, as well as his support.

Danny begrudgingly becomes part of the Bat Pack, against Bruce's wishes, because while he doesn't want to fight crime, he's gonna be there for his kid- all of the kids. Because, big surprise, there are more hero children running around! And oh boy, Danny is pissed.

Danny barges into the Watch Tower, and more or less takes over, after reading everyone the riot act.

Danny also contacts Jazz, Jazz is absolutely tickled to be part of everything. While she specializes in Villain Reformation and Criminal Psychology, she has been wanting to try her hand with Heros, so while it's over video call, she becomes the hero's and vigilantes therapist.

When Jason returns, tainted in corrupted Ecto, Danny feels it as soon as he steps into the city. He doesn't know it's Jason, but he knows he's a danger to himself and others. For the first time in years Danny actually fights with Jason, and knocks him out before spiriting Jason away to the Ghost Zone to get treatment, it's not kidnapping if the guys dead, probably.

DPxDC Prompt/Idea

The death of his parents brought in a lot of hidden information to young Timothy Drake. For example, Janet and Jack weren't the only family Tim had. Turns out, Janet Drake had two older sisters, whom she had estranged herself from a long time ago, meaning Tim had two blood aunts, an uncle, and two adult aged older cousins. The discovery of his other family was both joyful, and worrying, making his future uncertain until the social workers could work something out.

After court appearances and jurisdiction issues, Tim was finally plopped in the lap of the relitive that was deemed "most suitable", whatever that meant; his older cousin Danny.

From what Tim had overheard *cough*snooped out*cough, his Aunt Alicia lived in the middle of nowhere without much electricity or even internet, and while she would have taken him in, the social workers worried the drastic, and sudden change in environment, on top of his grief, would make everything even harder on him, especially since Alicia lived hours away from any therapists, which was a requirement due to the situation. His Aunt Maddie and her husband Jack were immediately denied, given the state of their home and the 'open lab' concept they had going on down stairs, not to mention the fact that their own kids had seemingky cut contact as soon as they turned 18. The next person they looked into was his cousin Jazz, Maddie's oldest child, but while she looked like the best fit on paper, given her job as a therapist and psychoanalysis gave her the means and emotional capabilities to raise a child, but Jazz's job wasn't stationary, she helped a lot with the FBI, and more specifically, the rehabilitation of Villains and Rogues, meaning she traveled a lot and tended to have a target on her back due to her Job, it just wasn't safe or consistent enough for rearing a child. That left Danny, Jazz's younger brother. At just 25 years old Danny was a freelance engineer, and consultant that worked according to his own hours, not only did having the ability to chose his own work schedule make it easier for him to spend time with Tim, but the fact that Danny could work anywhere meant that Tim didn't have to leave Gotham, as Danny was willing to move to Gotham so Tim didn't have to change schools, or leave his home.

So here Tim was, in Drake Mansion, sitting across from a cousin he had never meant before, his new guardian, trying to wrap his head around the entire situation as best he could.

When Danny heard from Jazz about their estranged younger cousin, he hadn't thought much on it. He felt bad for the kids situation, and he hoped the kid was actually getting looked after, but never in a million years did he expect to be deemed 'most suitable' to care for the kid. Honestly he's thought Jazz, or Aunt Alicia would be best suited, Jazz had the fancy "feelings degrees", and his Aunt had a peaceful farm, Danny was just a freelance engineer that worked out of his condo most days, while portaling back and fourth to the Ghost Zone to help Clockwork, and other Ghosts with whatever wacky hijinks they needed help with.

Phantom had retired, the Portal in his parents house sealed, and their blueprints tampered with just enough to not be obvious, but still make making another portal to Ghost Zone impossible. Danny had graduated with grades passable enough to get a partial scholarship, and then he left Amity, working labor jobs on the weekends to live and pay the rest of his tuition. Once he graduated, Danny started working with a company, before eventually breaking off to start working for himself.

Once Danny had left Amity, he got his name changed. He didnt hate his parents, but Danny had just started to not care, it was painful to yearn for acknowledging repeatedly, only to be ignored in favor of work, so Danny just stopped trying, changed his name, and simply didn't call or visit his parents. Jazz hadn't totally agree with his actions, she'd kept their parents name, but she didn't visit or talk to them much either, not unless they reached out first, so she didnt have much of a leg to stand on.

Given all that, Danny had been surprised when Tim's social worker reached out to him. At first he figured they wanted a character reference for his sister, but to his shock, they wanted to know if he would take Tim in, saying that he, Danny, seemed the most stable for the child. It was a whirlwind of questions, and background checks, and parenting classes, and court dates, but before long Danny found himself staring down at his little cousin in a too big, too cold, too staged mansion in Gotham New Jersy.

My Long Ass Rant( Love Letter ❤️) for my pookie:

Okay, so firstly, before people come at me, my favourite characters are James , Gun( Yes ,you can like both the GOAT🐐 ),Mary, Seongji , Sinu, Somi and Eli.

But the king of my heart is obviously The Peak, The Legend, and the genius of all geniuses, one and only James Lee🫶.

His character, when I first noticed, intrigued me like woah why the hell does a Kpop idol know where Danny baby works. And gradually, and eventually, when it was revealed that DG and James Lee are the same, it made all sense, but still, it felt like this guy wasn't good news.

One thing led to another, and the revelation that he murdered Gapryong Kim made things very interesting and from there it piqued my interest even more😗

Eventually, the Cheonliang arc came for a lot of people it reduced James aura. RUN LEE has come to town to only FLEE😂

But to me, this made him more human. He wasn't always this great fighter he needed to work and face the wall. Another GOAT and my dearest Seongji sure did teach him a lesson, and that beating surely drilled some humbleness in him. I was scared that he would kill Seongji, but yeah I won't go there...

The Charles Choi mentioning that he is just raising another dog well that has so much storytelling potential and so much to unravel I just can’t get that out of my mind. The potential angst, the environment he was in it makes me wonder so much.

So I myself don't know how I came to like this character sooooo much. But one thing that is problematic is that he rarely fights. The dude barely fought anyone in HFGA, and now, in Busan, he is in his car, eating tacos or on some adventure with Kitae🪓 PTJ pls let him fight.

Also, I want to know more about his dynamics with Kitae( not saying with shipping lenses I ain't interested) like why did he kill Gapryong Kim with him , how was their training and does James really trust him?

Most importantly, people hate him, which again is their choice, and it's just a character at the end of the day, but I will never heed to it. He is a very interesting character, and I want to see what the future plot holds for him. One thing I can say for sure is that Gun VS James is gonna happen no matter what.

Now to his backstory. I honestly feel it's a very tricky area to dive into. Some people want him to be pure evil and villainous and some a tragic hero. And me being me, I want to lean more on the tragic hero part also because it makes more sense as to how such a prodigy of a child turned the way he did? No pls don't be Charles Choi second body and shit.

This is so heartbreaking and makes me so sad. Almost everyone has someone or the other in the series. Heck Kitae, at one point, might act like a big bro with Jake, Gun has Goo, etc, etc, but my man is all alone. One man circle for sure. I can't fathom as to how this will turn out, and especially I think the hunt for James Lee is going to happen in 2 or 3 years. 😭😭

Overall, I'd like to say. I absolutely, passionately, genuinely, wholeheartedly, and wholly LOVE him❤️💝💋 and I don't care about haters it's your take and everyone enjoys different things that's what make the world interesting and beautiful ❤️
