Detoxing. When most people think of this word, they think of weight loss and body toxins.
But complete detoxing. For a whole month. If you read any of my previous posts, it would appear i find myself in all sorts of love, relationship drama. So i was thinking to myself, wtf havent I completely detoxed? Not only my body, but my heart, mind, and soul. Sure you can detox your body, but there are times when that doesnt work for mind, heart or soul.
Complete detoxing for me would include the following:
No talking to him....
Memosas and showers before bed.
Jogging in the morning
No soda
No desserts.
Just doing me for awhile.
Now I get it thats all things i should be doing. But ya know life and emotions blah blah blah.
Detoxing for a whole month we will see how that goes.

Social Media & Games Detox...
My dreams are artistic and I have to work hard on them. I know that I have to start learning in order to make them real, but what I really forgot is that I am indulging in distractions that keep me away from my goals.
So I started SM & G Detoxing by deleting the apps from my phone, and let me tell you it is f***ing hard. I'm literally iching (lol) but it is worth it.
I've realized that patience is the greatest virtue to acquire and unfortunately, I'm busy living and not truly alive.
Be patient my little heart, the future us will look back at us and will be thankful for our persistence. Always remember that image.

I just deleted the messenger and Facebook app from my phone
Like every ordinary day, I woke up and checked my phone. Usually, I immediately go to messenger and/or Facebook and/or Instagram to see if I have any messages and what I missed. The habit of doing this sneeked up on me, and slowly became an addiction. Because not only do I do this as soon as I wake up, I also do this multiple times a day, at the table when I'm having dinner and before I go to sleep. I watch people living their lives and I try to fake one for myself sometimes, too. But the truth is, I haven't been enjoying my life for a very long time now.
I feel lonely so often. And I feel so empty it's almost like I have zero purpose anymore. I tried to fill this hole by checking social media, so I'd feel "more connected", "inspired" and "motivated". I never did. Because as soon as I would lay away the electronics, I would return to my own, old life again and had to realize nothing had changed. Because, instead of doing something actually improving, relaxing, exciting or instead of going outside and meeting new people, I chose to escape in a fantasy world where everybody lives, but no one really stays or connects.
I was always jealous of that friend I had who could stay offline for 19 hrs in a row. So, instead of checking my social media this morning I decided to delete it. Now I'm about to become that friend I was jealous of. Time to jump back into the real world.

Water is one of the vital elements required for human survival. However, many people struggle to meet the daily requirement of water needed to keep their bodies hydrated. Some feel that water is tasteless and just too bland so, they never feel the urge to drink and usually it’s replaced by other unhealthy drinks like processed juice or soda, which makes it worse because now you’re taking unnecessary calories with no nutritional benefit what so ever. Infused water is the perfect solution for these people, because now you can add some flavor to it and personalize your water to your liking. Whether it is oranges, lemons or cucumber slices that you add to your water you will definitely feel the difference in taste. Moreover, there is a nutritional value added to the water as well. Some of the know benefits of drinking infused water include:
        Transport nutrients and oxygen
Protect your organs and keeps them functioning optimally
Keep your skin looking young and soft (yay!)
Regulate body temperature (important for staying warm during winter)
Counter dehydration from coffee, alcohol, medications, and exercise
Lubricate joints
Energize muscles
Keep your bowel movements regular
Make you to feel full (and lose weight)
Think more clearly
                    It is also important to mention that while you do gain some nutrition from each infused fruit, you do not ingest the same fiber, nutrients, and vitamins as you would when blending fruits/veggies and drinking them. In addition, measuring the exact nutritional density of infused waters is also difficult because of how long, at what temperature, and in what amount of water you infuse your ingredients.
Here are some interesting recipes that can help you take your first steps into the infused water world,
MINT CITRUS WATER
2 quarts water
1 lemon sliced, or as desired
2 limes sliced, or as desired
1/2 cup mint leaves
1/2 cup sliced cucumber or as desired (optional)
DIRECTIONS
Preparation takes 10 minutes.
Pour water into a pitcher.
Mix lemon slices, lime slices, mint leaves and cucumber together in a bowl; add water and stir.
Refrigerate water mixture, should be good to go in 4-5 hours. Remember the longer you keep the mixture in the water, the stronger the flavors are going to be.
LEMON, GINGER AND CINNAMON FLAVORED WATER
2 lemons
3 inch piece fresh ginger, or more to taste
2 cinnamon sticks
1 gallon water
DIRECTIONS
Preparation takes 5 minutes.
Wash lemons and ginger. Slice lemons; peel and thinly slice ginger. Place lemon slices, ginger slices, and cinnamon sticks in a large pitcher; fill container with water. Store in refrigerator.\

Here’s a photo of me speaking my truth last September about my life before, during, and after my experience with intimate partner abuse. . I was more nervous about who would show up to interrogate me in my small hometown than actually speaking my truth. I had already received word people who were great supporters of my husband would be there. . Events like these in my hometown usually don’t go to well especially when the person that abused you are from the same area. . Nevertheless, I marched my happy hips up when it was my turn and spoke anyway. . I’ve never been more proud of myself at that moment. . Being a public speaker is one of my favorite things to do. I wasn’t comfortable with doing it for a while until I saw the opportunity to do it. So I refused to think about it and signed up anyway. . GLAD I DID! . Everything I remembered about communicating and engaging with an audience came back to me. I forgot about all that were there and went in. . There were people there who knew my husband and afterwards said they had planned to ridicule me in front of everybody after I spoke. Instead, they gave me a big hug and told me how proud they were of me. . What stopped them? . Me talking about the attributes of abuse behind closed doors and how necessary it Is for the abusers to seek professional counseling than telling my story in a way that made my husband look bad. They said it made them realize the process of what victims rationalize in their minds for safety until they are able to get away (their words). . They thanked me for helping them understand the mental capacity of both the abused and the abuser as I spoke. . I’m just glad for the opportunity to present my truth on a platform and not bash abusers but rather reach out to the supporters for both parties so that both parties can successfully heal. Stepping into growth often means stepping out of our ‘comfort zone’ and as the term suggests that doesn’t always feel..... well, comfortable.
But it’s so important to stretch ourselves, to use our minds and bodies in new ways. The brain even rewards us when we have learned or accomplished something new by releasing dopamine, the brains ‘pleasure chemical’.
In other words the brain actually rewards growth, makes us feel good and gives our lives meaning.
We have evolved to seek growth and not stepping into it is denying the intrinsic nature of life itself.
Needless to say we suffer without it.
May we all discard our fears and step into our power, what we were born for - growth.
