or do you just mean that you're going to give them unsolicited advice about how to manage their symptoms and feel uncomfortable when they express their pain?

So sometime around 4 AM, after the fifth time I started my attempt to fall asleep and found I’d missed some crucial part of the routine or there was some kind of Issue I had to address first, I just acknowledged to myself I was not remotely tired and I won’t be sleeping this morning.

Can't stop thinking about the idea of CATFA as a propagandised version of the Captain America story which exists in-universe and Steve seeing it and being absolutely livid about how 90% of it represents him.

Examples: being furious that it doesn’t mention his mother (his moral compass) anywhere, or his socialist politics pre-war, implies he only wants to fight to be like one of the guys and get a girlfriend?! (barely mentions Nazis), implies he simply cannot have had any romantic attachments before serum, yet skims right over his disabilities as if his only problem was just being short, posits that Bucky would’ve spent his last night in Brooklyn off on a double date with two total strangers rather than with his own friends and family, (no mention of the Barneses anywhere?), has Steve scoffing at the idea of working in a factory (when he’d consider himself lucky to get a job in the times he grew up in), almost his whole relationship with the Howlies relegated to a single silent montage, none of the details of their missions shown except one, not a single girl in his USO tour gets a mention or name, ditto none of the women of the SSR/Army/that the Howlies met in the field, and wastes most of the screen time on that creepy violent nepotism-hire who was convinced Steve had given her some kind of secret signal he wanted to date her (at the time he just thought she’d taken the hint and was trying to beard him??), also puts her, Stark and Phillips in places they never went (why would a scientist, an old CO and an intelligence analyst be in Italy, or in the middle of a battle?? that’s not their job!), says Steve would waste his last precious moments of contact talking to a woman he’s not dating rather than saying goodbye to the men who’ve been fighting beside him for over a year?? And that he wouldn’t even bother to look for Bucky’s body?? (Only thing it got right was how much Bucky mattered to him / being a big part of why he wanted to fight!)

My fiction is dark, always has been. Most of my protagonists are trans men, because I write what I want to see. I apply content warnings where needed and I can think of them but please let me know if I miss something.

While investigating a string of thefts, B-movie actor and amateur sleuth Owen discovers Hollywood’s favorite leading man, the tall dark and handsome Aurum, is a vampire. Concept still in development.

Ferris- Feraligatr, I initially... "acquired" him from Professor Elm's lab as a...kind of test from my parents. He's a softie despite his looks. loves to battle.

Timor- Haunter, like most of his species line he's a prankster, can also be very mean spirited to people who aren't me- though i don't escape his ire sometimes too. Approach with caution.

Hi, this is a blog by Tori, it's unfortunately inactive at the moment, if you're interested in my other blogs please check out @twodragons-blooper-reel

Figured it would do a lot of good to have the Silver connected to Aegis and Drifter have a blog. As such, he's connected to that lore timeline.

He died 24 years ago at Goldenrod tower- and was reborn as a failed version of Mewtwo in the wreckage of Cinnabar Island. Because he had no clue how to get out, or where even to go, he ended up staying there with the dittos that had survived in the underground portion of the Pokemon Mansion lab after Cinnabar's eruption. Fast forward twenty four years, and Ariana and Drifter crack open what's left of the Pokemon Mansion and find the ditto tribe located there. Silver, some part of him that hadn't quite eroded into just being "ditto" recognized his family, and so he hitched a ride home with them, and retook the form of Mew after some time. Only to be able to fully reclaim his form as "Silver" with the semi-unwilling aid of Aegis after tricking the remaining Rocket Executives into building a machine to allow him to do so.

And now he's back! He still has the Mew Powers, since technically the "Silver" form is just one he's holding with transformation abilities. Which I guess makes him a technical eeby deeby? Idk. He's weird. Anyways feel free to pester him :]

I...just started X, should I be afraid???

It depends! X has a really cool world and concept and a great combat system, but the enemies are like 90% meant to be killed through one specific means of attack, and only that one. You have the agile types that only Tidus has a decent hit rate against, the flying ones ditto with Wakka, the blobs that are weak to magic, the tanky ones that need a piercing weapon, and the robots which can be disabled by stealing from them. All of them have that one specific weakness and trying to do anything else is an exercise in tedium because you'll either keep missing or doing pitiful damage.In theory that's not a bad thing, i mean i don't just want to sit mashing x until victory happens, but ffx keeps repeating the same encounters endlessly through every area and enemy health goes up pretty hard as the game progresses so eventually you're up against the 50th version of Annoying Agile Fucker and it's basically the same as all the previous 49 but now it has 9800 hp for some goddamn reason and it just takes forever even with the appropriate attacks. And the encounter rate can be pretty brutal.

It's the next illogical step on the slippery slope of misinformation and anti intellectualism seeded by his fave.

For one in my experience the world outside the Internet just doesn't give a shit about abuse survivors. A glance at what happened to Amber Heard or 86% of other domestic violence cases that go to court for that matter will show you that. How many child abuse survivors sue our parents and win? Not many.

I think if his name became publicly tied to his online presence he might get some hate mail or swatted or something, but the repercussions that actually matter wouldn't happen. He'd keep his job, his friends won't care because they probably all think the same, ditto his family considering they raised him, he's not committed any crimes so there will be no criminal action. He will move and his life will go on as normal.

To me the purpose of doxxing someone is to make their online footprint traceable. I'm not above calling for a well deserved doxx, if he was commiting crimes or doing stuff that would have real social repercussions I wouldn't be opposed, but all that will happen is someone will order 100 pizzas in his name or falsely tell the police he's building bombs in his attic, whats really the point?

Also, yeah, our good friend Jonathan Harker's still in a grim place in the aftermath of all the Epic Gothic Heroism which he'd really rather hadn't had to happen, ditto all the hellish mess beforehand. Considering how surprisingly careful Stoker was with how illness and disability was depicted in the original novel, we can see why he jumped the epilogue forward several years. Otherwise there'd be plenty of time left to go over the mourning and post-traumatic effects after the adventure.

And yeah, sans support, Jonathan would likely be asylum-bound. But he does have support! The fact that he does gives him an advantage Gilroy didn't! Gilroy was a skeptic among skeptics and had no one to turn to! Jonathan does! It's all fine as long as he can tell Mina and the others what Penclosa is up to!

Now let's all ignore that Penclosa is privy to the knowledge that he does in fact have a wife, a professor, and potentially other allies who would know to take him seriously if he ever tattled. I'm sure she won't do anything about that. 😶 👁

So someone saw my post on Troubled Blood and decided to reblog it with this comment

I watched Troubled Blood because, as my Tumblr profile proclaims, I am “an elderly Tom Burke tragic”, not because I had a hankering to consume JKR while condemning her as a person. The series is very much more than JKR’s books, and is a sum of the work of dozens of people, not JKR herself. Indeed, I approached the series with some nervousness because the books are known to be transphobic. However, the scriptwriters have not only managed to remove the transphobia, they have made them sympathetic to LGB people, if not specifically trans people.

There are still problems, like Burke playing a disabled actor when he is not himself disabled. (He was unable to make much of a defence of that when challenged about it, either.) As far as I know, he’s never spoken out against JKR’s opinions on trans people, though he’s not known for giving his opinions on such matters. The only time he expressed an opinion on something political*, he made a completely balls up of it, so I’m not surprised he keeps his mouth shut. Other actors have more courage, of course.

I haven’t bought any of the series - I watch them on BBC iPlayer - and I won’t be buying them. Or the books. JKR makes not a penny from me. I absolutely and unreservedly condemn JKR’s stance on trans people.

Am I a hypocrite? I certainly have refused to watch any more movies or TV with certain actors who have turned out to be racist, abusive, anti-Semitic etc, or by certain directors, ditto. I don’t buy books by authors who I deem problematic for various reasons.

But to me, there is an important separation between an author with horrible views which may or may not be expressed in a book which becomes the basis for a film or TV series, and that final product which has been cleaned of those horrible views and the story presented in a way which is not objectionable.

Will a lot of people look up the books after seeing the series? Yes. Do I control that? No. JKR’s opinions are now very well known - she makes no attempt to hide them and is very proud of them. So, if people still want to put money in her pocket after knowing about what she thinks of other human beings who don’t conform to her precise definitions of gender, then that’s on them. I would be confident that anyone following me would be well aware of what she is, and wouldn’t be persuaded to act against their conscience because I wrote up my reaction to the TV show.

I guess I’m saying that I was aware that I could justly be accused of hypocrisy, but I also weighed up the harm that might follow from that hypocritical acts, and judged it small. If I got that wrong, I’m sorry

Look professor, no hands! Or rather, Ditto hands! So I randomly had an idea for another Pokemon OC for a future fan-region (unfortunately not one I'll be able to show for quite some time), and I wanted to further explore how people with different disabilities would be able to have wildly different accessibility accommodations in a world where Pokemon have existed alongside humanity throughout the entire history. And what better Pokemon to play around with the concept of replacement organs and living prosthetics than Ditto? In the region this lady is from, specially-trained Ditto are often seen as very important partners in the medical field, as they can transform not only to act as someone's missing limbs, but have basically eliminated the need for organ donors as they can transform into an exact copy of the person with more of the specific organ than the average human body would have in order to give them a guaranteed match that can't be rejected. And yes, these Ditto are treated very well for their hard work ^u^

Since the region all this is for is WAY off in the future and I'm still working out the 'dex let alone the finer details of the region itself as a whole, I don't have a name set for this lass just yet, even with me knowing a few things about her at this point. She's a filmmaker, she's a Gym Leader in the same region that my champion self-insert Jules is from, and as most of the Gym Leaders there are dual-type specialists rather than mono-types, she specializes in the psychic and bug types. I'm thinking of naming her Cinna, as it references cinammon and also sounds like "cinema", but I'll have to look further into that. I know her Ditto have names, though! Their names are Lucy and Ricky. ...because Lucy = left and Ricky = right XD

also jfc I really want everyone to understand that being less capable isn't an excuse for being treated like not-a-person. Because most people haven't experienced institutional abuse like this. But most people have actually been treated as not-really-a-person, when we were children. Adults by default do not believe children. Adults by default use the concept that they "know best" to deny children control over physical necessities like food, rest, and bathroom access, and over psychological necessities like whether you can talk to the kid next to you and whether you have control over whether your environment is over- or under-stimulating, and whether you can leave a situation that is bad for you. And schools do not pass the burrito test (with logical adjustments for the fact that most schools aren't 24/7), and pretty much everyone has had years of experience in schools being treated like an object that is expected to perform obedience rather than like a person, and quite often was treated to a large degree more as an object than a person at home and anywhere else they exist in as well, and yet, this is widely considered perfectly fine, and I think if there was a general understanding of what personhood means and what bodily autonomy means and that you don't actually need to hit a certain level of intelligence or self-sufficiency to be a person and have bodily autonomy then we would have a revolution.

I don't know if it'd be the guns and explosives sort of revolution, but we would change everything we do about how we live our lives.

"But parents love their kids" -- sure, but loving someone and understanding that people need control over their own lives, especially when they're dependent on other people to get their needs met and even when they require some degree of supervision to avoid harm, are different things. And ditto for teachers being well meaning, yeah, in my experience generally? And they work their asses off and don't get paid enough? And probably the same thing is true for the staffers at the link, that they are overall well-intentioned and overworked and underpaid, and they also abused disabled people in life-threatening ways. In a way that is very much tied to seeing them as objects and not as people who require autonomy.

I remember one time, perhaps in my early 20's, I was giving blood and I felt cold, and the people working at the center kept not wanting to give me enough stuff to warm me up because they didn't think I could be that cold so I sort of assumed yeah I guess I couldn't really be that cold and it was just a feeling and feelings can be wrong. And because my body was cold the blood wasn't draining well, there was a physical real world thing that mapped to my subjective experience of being cold that was not lining up with what people around me expected (people who had reasons to know what they were doing, people with some degree of credentials/authority), and this shook my world to its foundations.
