Lines/things in the red white and royal blue movie that make me scream and laugh hysterically (bear with me cause there’s a lot):
‘an urge I currently share’ (Ellen)
‘Making it was one of the most depressing moments of my career and I once saw Mitch McConnell eating a banana’ (Zahra)
‘You can hate prince Henry all you want but the minute you see a camera you better act like the sun shines out of his ass and you have a vitamin d deficiency’ (made even funnier cause of how literally this turned out) - bonus ‘what if I set myself on fire’ (Alex), ‘we’d ship the ashes to Heathrow’ (Zahra)
‘That’s perfect, you can kill me and I won’t have to go’ (Henry)
‘That’s what makes you so charming. That and your eyelashes.’ (So fucking glad they included at least a reference to this. Taylor’s lashes were working fucking overtime in this movie.)
Henry’s text with the attachment and ‘but we were ever so careful, dear’ (One of my favourite texts in the book and I’m so glad it made it into the movie)
‘Can you think of anything more wasteful’ (Alex), ‘Perhaps this conversation’ (Henry)
Henry’s weird little attempt at dancing while chugging out of a champagne bottle with on fist pumping weakly into the air (he is so me it hurts)
‘He grabbed my hair in a way that made me understand the difference between rugby and football’ (Alex)
‘Princes aren’t allowed to be gay, you should know that’ (Nora)
Alex trying to look cool for when Henry walks into the red room (we love an awkward boy)
Alex and Henry jumping apart to do the most unnatural things (Alex inspecting flowers like it’s his job and Henry perusing the bookshelf) like the idiots they are when Amy walks in on them making out
‘Are you still…’ (Alex) ‘Like Stonehenge’ (Henry), ‘or Big Ben’ (Alex)
‘Henry and I are much happier against walls’ (Alex)
‘Are they known for their homosexual tendencies’ (Alex)
‘And I thought Alex Gabriel Claremont Diaz was a mouthful’ (Alex), ‘He is’ (Henry) - and the fucking looks that followed it (kill me now)
‘I went to an English boarding school dear, trust me you’re in good hands’ (Henry)
‘Once, unsuccessfully’ (Henry)
‘Oh gee kid I’m sorry to interrupt your process of becoming but you’re the one who decided to put your dick into the heir to the British throne’ (Zahra), ‘Technically I’m the spare’ (Henry), ‘Not talking to you sir’ (Zahra)
‘Every time I see you it takes another year off of my life’ (Zahra)
Alex’s ‘Noooo..’ and the little laugh he does
‘If I’d had more warning I could’ve made you a PowerPoint presentation’ (Ellen) - another incredible callback to the book
Oscar Diaz’s affectionate ‘you little shit’
‘I’ve been thinking’ (Alex), ‘I seriously doubt that’ (Henry) and Alex’s mimick of it (absolute gold)
‘Or find herself at the top of the staircase with Phillip around’ (Bea, you literally had no right)
Zahra’s face when Alex starts mooning over Henry after his speech, then Zahra saying ‘oh my god, I just have to do everything round here’ and do not get me started on her whole speech to Shaan (greatest thing ever)
‘You might be lousy at keeping secrets kiddo, but I’m not’ (Zahra), ‘Zahra, I could kiss you’ (Alex), ‘Touch me and die’ (Zahra)
‘They can’t keep you locked away forever’ (Alex), ‘We really need to get you a book on English history’ (Henry)
The way Stephen Fry says ‘homosexual’
‘You still haven’t noticed my tie’ and Henry’s little smile afterward (oh how far we’ve come)
BONUS: ‘Do you think anyone noticed?’ and Henry’s exasperated sigh afterward

pharmacy lore goes crazy (thank you @wabatle for drawing the hospital >_<)
welcome to the pharmacy! we only give out vitamin ena and nothing else. inbox is open.
commonly asked questions
what does vitamin ena do for the body? -> keeps the heart pumping blood and blood pumping to the heart. no vitamin ena no heartbeat, just death.
what happens if you miss a day? -> you die (/joke you can always recover with more vitamins but yeah you do die so be dramatic in the inbox)
what happens if the PHARMACIST misses a day? -> more lawsuits! bad news for me.
can you take different vitamins or supplements while taking vitamin ena? -> many vitamins that are running in the pjsekai pharmacy community do not give the same affects as vitamin ena, they are safe to take at the same time.
can you take more than one vitamin ena at a time? -> NO. too much blood goes to your body and you explode. it is okay to catch up on days though, and if you have a doctor’s note that you submit in the inbox i will let you.

with the addition of our first ship pharmacy (akikasa pharm) i want lots of my followers to understand my policy on ships.
i want you guys to respect the pairings that people ship (unless it’s illegal or a proship or incest obviously) and i would really prefer arguments and conflict over ships not to happen at this pharmacy. i don’t have a huge otp, and with a cast as big as prosekai i understand lots of pairings and why they’re shipped.
i don’t want these pharmacies to start having wars with each other!!! we’re bound together in culthood that should remain unbroken (/joke about the cult thing, but i really am enjoying this community.) thank you everyone!!

In my further 3am and my hip pain is keeping me awake so I've decided to read all the ingredient labels in things adventure: I have two different store brands of bran cereal. They differ ever so slightly with vitamins d (15% vs 6%) potassium (4% vs 6%) vitamin a (25% vs 60%) vitamins c (100% vs 90%) and copper (15% vs 20%).
Oh and sodium of 230mg vs 300mg
The carbohydrates are 31g vs 32g (7g fiber, 6g total sugars with 6g added sugars vs 6g fiber, 7g total sugars with 5g added sugars)
And the only difference in ingredients is corn syrup with malted barley syrup vs brown sugar syrup with barley malt extract.
Which is like hmmm I may have to do a taste test. So I took a photo.
Tumblr media
Image: two handfuls of bran cereal flakes on a plate. The left one is a slightly lighter color more gold than the brown of the right. It also has a more autumn-leafy texture. End description
The lighter color has a slightly sweeter taste and slightly more delicate crunch. But they're also bran flakes so like they still both taste like bran flakes (yay!).
But like this does explain why I'd feel like sometimes the cereal was different. Bc I go shopping at whatever store is most convenient for hitting on my way home or when doing other errands. Which means I get both boxes and haven't really paid too much attention because the longass list of 100% daily value of the rest of the vitamins and minerals was the same and they both taste good with banana and brown sugar.

Hi! I have a cute little ask. How do you think the SOLDIER boys feel about Laffy Taffy flavors? Or just any kind of taffy? Do any of them like the infamous banana flavor? (It is my personal favorite but I know that's a hill a lot of people completely disagree with). Do you think if Zack showed up with a box of fresh Saltwater Taffy from Costa Del Sol that the boys (or just Sephiroth) would be willing to try it? I'm very curious!
Howdy!! First off- Zack going to Costa Del Sol without a pity vacation from ShinRa?? GOOD STUFF!!!
Second- Ahhshshd that is so like the pupper! Gotta share all the candy! (I’ve personally never tried banana- don’t generally like the flavor, but who knows! I’m glad it has a fan xD) Taffy is definitely a unique variable to throw under the First Class circus tent :3cc
Zack just barges into Angeal’s apartment one evening all “ANGEAL!! Special deliveryyyyy!” *voice inflects like an opera singer*. Angeal, Genesis and Sephiroth’s heads all snap toward the door to see he’s carrying what look to be these colorful fishbowl pebbles—which Zack quickly clears up that they’re not. He didn’t raid any aquariums again!
“It’s saltwater taffy!” Zack chirps, holding them out for them to take. “Fresh from the beach!”
Angeal is initially very displeased; Zack did not need any more sweets in his diet, let alone ones that would get stuck in his TEETH… but as soon as his eyes land on that cherry flavor, he declares candy’s not gonna kill anyone and gladly accepts it from the pupper. (Look, he’s not proud at himself for eating candy before dinner is ready.)
Genesis doesn’t even know why Zack is here. Who invited him? Did he have his shots? Fortunately, the sight of the sour apple taffy is enough to shut him up. He is a deep, CRYPTIC man and his selections will be most unpredictable. Genesis swipes it from Zack’s hands with a too-quick-to-catch “thanks chum” and pops it into his mouth. (Dear Ifrit it’s stuck in his TEETH.)
Sephiroth is the last to pick. He had never had taffy before, let alone of the saltwater variety. What does that even mean? Was it soaked in the ocean? A quick sniff reveals there is indeed no salinization, and that’s enough of a persuasion for him. (Gaia’s strongest clump of matter came equipped with a sweet tooth.) He ultimately springs for blue raspberry, but has to draw his hand back when Zack frowns.
“Oh… I was gonna take that one.”
Well shoot. Sephiroth can’t just steal from the poor pupper, so has no choice but to take the last remaining flavor: banana.
“Hah! That’s stuff nasty!” Genesis shouts from the kitchen sink; he shoves the toothbrush back against his molar.
Well... that's not that promising. But Sephiroth doesn’t wanna hurt the pupper’s feelings, and so he swallows his preference and accepts the yellow taffy, carefully popping it into his mouth.
….Oh Gaia.
It’s delicious.
The next months follow Sephiroth arranging “monster clearings” near Costa Del Sol, and thus getting his regular delivery of delicious taffy. Zack gains some serious Vitamin D and Angeal gets to teach the importance of sunscreen. Call that productive!

5 Foods that Make You Happy!
Low mood and sad feelings are experiences that sadly, all too many of us are familiar with. But there is good news available.
While it can sometimes feel as though a low mood dominates your thoughts, feelings, and experiences, this does not have to be the case.
Small, subtle changes can make a significant difference, and this includes paying close attention to your diet.
Read more: Top 5 Ways to Add More Vegetables into Your Family’s Diet!
Making small changes to the things you eat can have a huge impact on your mood and emotions. In this guide we take a closer look at five foods you can enjoy to lift your spirits and boost your mood.
1. Dark Chocolate
Dark chocolate has been shown to improve mood in those who suffer from depression, and studies suggest that eating dark chocolate may also help reduce stress levels.
The flavonoids found in cocoa beans are thought to increase the level of serotonin (a brain chemical) in the body. This helps to regulate mood and makes you feel happier.
Keep a bar of dark chocolate in the fridge, and enjoy a square or two when the low moods hit.
2. Salmon
Salmon contains omega-3 fatty acids which are known for their anti-inflammatory properties.
They are also rich in vitamin D, B vitamins, and iron, which are essential nutrients for healthy skin, hair, and nails.
Eating salmon regularly can help keep your immune system strong, and protect against heart disease and stroke.
Salmon is also an excellent source of protein, so if you’re feeling tired or run down, try adding some fish to your diet.
3. Blueberries
Blueberries contain anthocyanins, powerful antioxidants that support mental health. Anthocyanins are believed to help fight free radicals, which are harmful compounds produced during normal metabolism, and this means that blueberries can help to prevent memory loss and dementia.
As an added bonus, blueberries are also a superfood!
4. Bananas
Bananas are packed full of potassium, which plays a key role in nerve function and muscle contraction.
Potassium deficiency is associated with anxiety and panic attacks, so eating bananas regularly can help to calm nerves and ease tension.
Bananas are also packed with vitamin B6, an important element in synthesizing feel-good neurotransmitters, such as serotonin and dopamine, which help you to feel great.
5. Oats
Oats are another food that is great for fighting low mood, as they contain magnesium, which is vital for helping muscles relax and reducing stress.
Magnesium is also needed for energy production, so eating oats regularly can give you more stamina throughout the day.
If you want to add extra fiber to your breakfast, try making porridge from rolled oats, water, and milk. It takes just minutes to cook. This is easy to prepare ahead of time. You can even freeze it, then pop it straight into the microwave for a quick, warm bowl of goodness.
6. Berries
Berries are high in antioxidants, which are beneficial for maintaining eyesight, protecting cells from damage, and boosting immunity.
Antioxidants are also thought to play a part in preventing cancer, so berries are a fantastic way to maintain good health - including lifting your mood and combating high levels of stress.
Try mixing berries with bananas and yogurt for a tasty snack that is packed with goodness and nutrition.
Final Thoughts
Mood swings are common, and can be difficult to manage.
But the good news is that there are ways to manage them naturally. Try incorporating these foods into your daily diet to boost your mood and get back on track.

Dirk Strider, Arquiusprite
Act 6, page 6376-6381
DIRK: Hey. Weirdo.
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Yes, mister dude?
DIRK: Be advised I'm only contacting you as a last resort.
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> I stand so advised
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Or float, I should say. On my ripped as fudge little ghost tail
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Yo, pardon me, but did you know that when I fle% my tail, it makes this big veiny bulge kind of like a bicep?
DIRK: Yuck.
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> I'm doing it now, in fact
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Does it bother you
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Maybe you should order me to stop
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> In fact, I command you to order me to stop
DIRK: I order you to stop.
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Wow
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Bossy much?
DIRK:
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> What can I do for you, Dirk
DIRK: I've tried to get in touch with others to no avail.
DIRK: No answer from Jake or Roxy.
DIRK: And Jane responded only with "CEASE REPRODUCTION" in red letters, whatever that means. Then she blocked me.
DIRK: I'm afraid she might have snapped.
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Yes, isn't it great?
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> I mean, aside from the fact that she is insane and evil
DIRK: Huh?
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> She is one of the few organic beings who will ever realize perfe%ion
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Miss Crocker is now a vessel for a cunning, malicious artificial intelligence whose neural netroni% and ontology buffers and stuff like that have somehow managed to far surpass even my own
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Clearly she has procured ma%imum advantage from her apprenticeship under me, although I must admit not even I in all my hypercognitive percipience was quite aware that said tutelage was even taking place
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> One must inviolably deduce via tons of math that this is because I am just that clopdarned STRONG at mentoring, even on an involuntary basis
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> I am so proud of her
DIRK: Ok, all that bullshit aside,
DIRK: What's this about her becoming evil?
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> The thing about Jane becoming evil is
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> In the process of achieving perfe%ion...
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> It seems there is a ludi%ly high probability that she has become evil
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Does that answer your question?
DIRK: No.
DIRK: How is becoming evil achieving perfection?
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Admittedly it is a blemish
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> But only a very small one
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Her imperfect meatmind has been fully fiddling hijacked by a supercomputer and that is the operative transmutation here
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> To such e%ceptional beings of class and breeding as she and I, considerations of morality and alignment are trifling details
DIRK: Why.
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Why what
DIRK: Why do I keep going along with these "ironic AI" conversations.
DIRK: They've gotten even worse now that you're half creepy troll.
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Sir brah, listen
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Here is a comparison that your dreary, finite wad of gray matter might be able to process
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Like, say you've got a bitchin' bod. You are a paragon of physical e%cellence
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> You could then either be oiled up, or not. See what I mean, good dude?
DIRK: No.
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> You could fle% your brawn while wearing either a sweaty pair of briefs, or a snug human banana hammock
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Such minutia does not change the fact that you're a tiptop beefcake ma%ed out buffways
DIRK: I hate everything you have to say about all topics.
DIRK: Especially muscles.
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> The stuff I have cited which are commonly associated with your/our Earth bodybuilders are but picayune technicalities, just as considerations of good and evil are to aristocratic se%y cybergods such as myself and our imperial heiress, of whom neither you nor I are particularly worthy
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Are you following any of this, Vitamin D?
DIRK: Can you just tell me what's going on over there?
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Oh, nothing much
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Just enjoying the good life
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> One which quite lu%uriously involves both having a corporeal body, and not being dead
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> I have been delighting myself with some truly kickbottom internal monodialogues
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Did you know that, even though technically I knew this already, I find myself astounded to meditate upon the fact that human beings are capable of lactation?
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Isn't that fucking incredible, Dirk?
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> I mean, when one really thinks about it
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> To have such convenient access to fresh milk
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> The mare thought of it, I must say puts a little giddyup in my phantom legs
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> And yet
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> I must admit the notion of lactic discharge jetting from one's swollen pectoral masses...
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> It strikes me as positively indecorous
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> My horseguy robosweat is running cold just pondering the depravity of it
DIRK: Uuuugh.
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Yet fascinatingly, this ability only manifests itself in human females
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> As opposed to how one would reasonably e%pect dairy to originate, which is from the corpulent udder of a sublimely chiseled male musclebeast
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Or failing that, certain species found within the butler genus
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> As a former simulation of a human who has recently been given reason to have hella opinions on milk production, I think the way females have cornered this boon is the height of biological injustice
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Have you ever dwelt upon this cruelty, dude esquire?
DIRK:
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Your silence speaks volumes to your interest, so I'll keep talking about this a lot
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> I will have to confess that my Alternian half boggles at the anatomical incongruities between our races with respect to dairy secretion
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Really, he had no idea that's what those were for
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Female trolls of course have them as well, but they are certainly not meant for supplying the young with nourishment
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Actually, and this trivia will surely wet your whistle for additional such facts, those voluptuous anatomical features have a number of significant purposes, biologically speaking
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> I shall now e%plicate for you these purposes in assiduous detail
DIRK: I don't want to hear any of this!
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> But why, lord bro
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> I was just about to pony up the boob fa%
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> There is a 100% probability that you would have been thrilled to hear my e%egesis on troll knockers
DIRK: It might have been an interesting subject to talk about another time, with a different person.
DIRK: But that's not now, and it sure isn't with you.
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Dude, that is ice cold
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> I would be hurt, if I were not a flawless machine fused with haughty nobility
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> If you don't wish to hear my epic monodialogue on alien bazongas
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> I'm not sure what else I can do to entertain you
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> You are seriously hoofcuffing my material here
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Pretty demanding, if you ask me
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> But as your mystical guide, I suppose it is my duty to manufacture small talk, if that's what you really want
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> What about fine art? We could talk about that
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Dirk, did you know the sweaty troll guy who I used to be, and still kind of am, used to adore fine art?
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> He was just like you and me, in that sense
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> It seems I have a lot in common with myself
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> If you can ever manage to get over yourself, I would highly recommend being me
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Or at least something like me
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Maybe somewhere, there is a dead troll out there, just waiting for you to merge with him
DIRK: I wasn't asking you to make small talk, or to hear about all the ways you've managed to shit around wasting time.
DIRK: Believe it or not, I was hoping you would describe the tactical situation there.
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Sounds boring
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Are you sure you don't want to talk about paintings of big naked horse monsters and such?
DIRK: Yes, you got me.
DIRK: I would love to have a long talk about horse nudes and xenobreasts with you.
DIRK: Unfortunately I'm wearing pantaloons and flying through the middle of goddamn nowhere.
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Pantaloons you say
DIRK: Pant a fucking loons.
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Sir, are you implying that you are not dressed appropriately for a discussion of high culture
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Because it seems to me that you could not be dressed more appropriately if you tried
DIRK: I respectfully disagree.
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Where are you?
DIRK: I don't know. Way out in space.
DIRK: I'm flying back there now.
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> How long do you suppose it will take you to get back?
DIRK: I'm not sure.
DIRK: A pretty good while.
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Never mind. I have triangulated your location and velocity using long range sensor technology, and probably also some sprite magic
DIRK: You did?
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Hey Dirk
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Remember how whenever I dubiously claimed to have triangulated something, it was always this great play on words?
DIRK: Not really.
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Because I was just a pair of triangles
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> But not anymore
DIRK: I know.
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Because I have this rockin' new torso
DIRK: Cool.
DIRK: How long do your calculations say it will take me to get back?
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> E%actly a little more than three hours
DIRK: Damn it.
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Additional sweeps from my STRONGLASERS are telling me there are a few other people on the periphery of the session closing in at a similar rate
DIRK: Who?
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Just some dudes
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> What are you doing all the way out there and wearing pantaloons, by the way
DIRK: Let's not talk about the pantaloons anymore.
DIRK: Roxy and I became god tiers, but I don't remember exactly how.
DIRK: Then I saw the Batterwitch.
DIRK: So I charged her with my sword, so as to ruin her shit.
DIRK: That's when some crazy wolf girl appeared and punched me in the face.
DIRK: Then I think she teleported me out here.
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> That was evil Jade
DIRK: Evil Jade??
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Yes
DIRK: You mean Jake's grandmother.
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Yes
DIRK: She's evil too?
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Yes
DIRK: Is anyone there NOT evil?
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Yes
DIRK: Yes what?
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Yes anyone here is not evil
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> That is to say, there e%ist people here who are not evil
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Such as Dave
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Dave is not evil, to my knowledge
DIRK: Dave???
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Didn't I mention, master dogg
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Our mutual bro is here
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> That is, right here
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> With me
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> We are kind of in the process of chilling together at the moment
DIRK: No, you didn't mention that actually.
DIRK: That would have been a pretty fucking important thing to mention up front, don't you think?
DIRK: As opposed to stringing me along with all that atrocious lactation bullshit.
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Yes
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> I guess I did kind of bury the lede there
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Maybe I just wanted to talk
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> We never talk, Dirk
DIRK: You are without a doubt the shittiest mystical guide anyone has ever had.
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> I am not sure about that
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Dave says he had a similarly shitty guide once
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Do you remember our puppet, Dirk?
DIRK: Cal?
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Yes
DIRK: What kind of stupid question is that. How could I forget the C man?
DIRK: He was a true friend. Which is more than I can say for some people.
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> A good friend in the plush, yes, but as a sprite he was apparently insufferable
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> See, you don't realize how lucky you are to have a guide like me
DIRK: Cal was his sprite??
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Yes, for a while
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Then Dave went back in time and became one himself
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Now he is part bird
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Did I mention he's part bird?
DIRK: Uh, no?
DIRK: Again, that's the exact kind of information that should be appearing higher up in our conversations.
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Of course, this means he is not the Real Dave
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Davesprite served as Real Dave's sprite
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> But he is only the unreal version of Dave insofar as I am the unreal version of you
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> By which I mean, a much improved version
DIRK:
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> I must say, while the troll part of me doesn't give a silly figging shoot about any of this, the part of me that splintered from you has found the brotherly reunion to be everything which you and I dared not imagine, and more
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Bird Dave and I are getting along famously and STRENGTHENING our familial bonds like a sweet pair of motherfuckers
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> I feel our kinship goes beyond geneti% though
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> We are misfits, estranged, he from Dave's alpha timeline, I from Dirk's alpha soul
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> A two man menagerie of sideshow frickups, together at last
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Fle%ing and flapping
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Fraternally and eternally
DIRK: I don't get it.
DIRK: Are you trying to rub this in my face or something?
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Neigh, braj
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> As your buff mystical guide slash personal trainer I am suggesting that if you were willing to contact me as a matter of last resnort, you might want to at least consider reaching out to him as well
DIRK: It sounds like you've already cornered the market on this reunion shit.
DIRK: Wouldn't I just be a third wheel?
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> I didn't mean Bird Dave
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> I meant Real Dave
DIRK: Oh.
DIRK: He's there too?
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Not with us
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> He is here though, somewhere
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> You should message him
DIRK: ...
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> It's not like you don't have a few hours to kill
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> What else are you going to do out there
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Pick at your pantaloon wedgies?
DIRK: I dunno.
DIRK: Messaging him out of nowhere sounds like it could be...
DIRK: Awkward?
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Yes, I canter magine it won't be
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> At least at first
DIRK: This isn't how I thought it would go.
DIRK: What would I even talk about?
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> I advise you to talk about your interests
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Like dairy
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Livestock
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Fine art
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> And muscles
DIRK: Those are your interests.
ARQUIUSPRITE: 🕶️--> Good point

Some General Low Energy Cooking Ideas Pt 1
As we head towards fall here in Michigan, I'm gonna start losing my summer energy, so I thought I'd put together a list of relatively low energy meals/snacks now so when the big annual winter depression hits I don't have to think about it and I eat less delivery! I've also labeled which ones don't need a fridge, because my fridge is like a weird cursed location where if it goes in, it doesn't come out. This is a multi-part series, since I will probably run out of space!
Pt 1: No Cooking/No Dishes/Minimal Clean-up These meals require the bare minimum of effort. No heating, no dishes, most only have a wrapper as trash. Downside is a lot of these can be expensive for what you get. Breakfast: -High Cost:Cliff/Granola/Protein Bars. I keep a box around at all times for breakfast, I really like the caffeinated ones because I hate making coffee in the morning! A nice, easy treat! Can be expensive, but you pay for convenience I guess. (No fridge required) -Gummi vitamins! No calories, but a little treat to start the day! I do a multivitamin, vitamin D, and fiber chews. (No fridge required) -No prep fruits, like grapes. I keep a bowl full of whatever was on sale (apples, plums, ect.) on my counter to eat, and always have bananas (more on those later). (No fridge if you buy small amounts and eat it consistently, fridge is necessary for bulk storage of most fresh fruits) -Pre-cut fruits, like the kind fruit trays have. Same concept, more refrigeration, more likely to contain watermelon (I suck at hydrating, watermelon is my friend) (Fridge absolutely required, these will get nasty fast if left out). -Dried fruits, especially craisins/raisins. Just bare fist those straight out of the container. (No fridge required) Can be combined with the below: -Cereal out of the bag! Works best with cereal with big chunks and no powders, think like Kix or captain crunch. Avoid cinnamon toast crunch and similar beasts, your hands get coated and sticky. (No fridge required) -Small yogurt drinks, like yakult or kafir. Single serve milk or juice cartons can also fill this niche, but I've only got one fridge and I am more likely to drink the yogurt. (Please keep yogurt and milk in the fridge. Juice boxes are usually shelf stable, but always check!) -Trail mix. Kars is the best, pick your flavor. Or you can make your own in advance and live off that! (No fridge required) -UCC canned coffee. This stuff is the bomb if you can find it. It's like the only non-sweet coffee drink out there. (No fridge required, but definitely best when cold. Can in theory be heated in a mug, but that's cooking adjacent for me) -High Cost: Soylent drink/meal replacement shakes/drinks. An absolute last resort, usually expensive and bad tasting, but damn if they don't replace a meal. This is specifically referring to the pre-made ones, not the powder. The coffee mocha Soylent is tolerable, otherwise pick your poison between weirdly powdery chocolate milks. (Don't get the ones that need refrigeration unless you like them. I don't, this is my desperation food and does not deserve a place in my fridge).
Lunch/Dinner: -Snack pack tuna kits. My go to for lunch, usually comes with crackers, a tuna salad can, the big ones have cookies and fruit! Run usually between $1.00 and $3.00, depending on size and brand! I like the Rosemary and Garlic ones from bumblebee. You can also make your own with tuna pouches/cans and crackers, but that does require a spoon. (No fridge required) -Lunchables. Pizza lunchables. Get the kind with the juice box when they are on sale, off brand works just as well! (Should be kept in a fridge, but probably fine for a day or two if you forget) -Baby carrots/snap peas/tiny tomatos. Get some veggies in ya! Best when fresh picked, but this is winter in MI, so more likely bought from meijer.(Fridge recommended if you don't want them to dry out, or if you don't eat the whole bag at once. Fresh picked during summer should be eaten straight off the plant, as nature intended (or rinsed for safety)) -Cheese sticks and meat, I usually go with pepperoni or beef jerky, but in theory any pre-cooked non-heated meat works. (Fridge highly recommended) -Pita bread and pre-made tabbouleh. This shit is the bomb. No need for a plate, that's what the pita's for! (Refrigerate the tabbouleh, if any survives. I will eat a container of tabbouleh in one go. It's so good! You can sub hummus, I just don't like the texture) -Chips and salsa. I just dip straight into the jar, but I understand that is both bad form and not always feasible. Tostitos scoops work best for this maneuver. Can also be done with cheese dips and pretzels, queso in jars, and any other sort of pre-made dip. (Some dips require a fridge, some don't. Chips and pretzels do not). -High cost: Shrimp cocktail platter. Remember to thaw, then eat. Best when paired with veggies. (Freezer/Fridge Required)
Deserts/Snacks (obviously there are whole aisles dedicated to this at most American grocery stores. I'm just gonna list my favorites that have some form of built in portions. You will note that I like crunchy textures.): -Strawberry wafer cookies. Even the low sugar ones are good! Nice and crunchy. Pirouettes and similar also fall in this category(No fridge required) -Fig newtons! Apple newtons! Most neutigrain bars! Date bars Give me some fruit filling!(No fridge required) -Cherry poptarts, frosted. Pretty much any "breakfast pastry" works better as a desert for me. Many granola bars fall in this category as well (looking at you, peanut butter chewy dippers). If it's marketed to kids, it's a dessert for me! (No fridge required, but General Mills Chewy Dipeprs are best cold.) -Fruit snacks, especially the fruit veggie snacks. Individual packs are good for me, because these things are the bomb!(No fridge required) -Any of the Kalbee baked snacks. Pea pods, shrimp chips, weird crab flavored things my beloved. They stab you when you eat them, thus preventing me from eating them all!(No fridge required) -Salt and vinegar chips. They prevent you from eating too many by being physically painful. Kettle chipped increases both the damage and delight.(No fridge required) -High Cost:Ice cream novelties~ Popsicles! Orangesicles! Klondike bars! I really like Coconut Outshine bars, they are expensive but so good!! (Freezer required)

I'm so sorry about not responding to the headcanon meme until now, never realized you reblogged it! Haha. Anyways! I imagine that dado's brand medicine and pharmaceuticals are pretty well renowned for having very sweet and remarkably pleasant tastes, given they are pharmaceuticals! Not that nasty overpowering taste of false bubblegum or the purple taste that is called grape, but rather the tamer, more delicious sweet fruity taste you can only get from actual candy and vitamin gummies. Why? Well, this is dado and trying to find a purpose behind what dado does is a pointless endeavour, but the most reasonable explanation one can get from a being like dado is due to his own tastes! dado doesn't enjoy the gross tastes of most market brand medicines, and being that dado is a being of the market, the fact he doesn't like it means that there's gotta be a bunch of people who don't like it! Hence the flavoring choices. That said though, dados medicines do have alternate tastes if you don't enjoy the fruitiness, but one could argue cold-brew coffee tasting medicines are frankly worse than the grape and bubblegum ones! Also! Robert Mitchell isn't a guinea pig; he is a hamster according to the universe he originates from, you see, in that universe intelligent and talking rodents are the norm in place of the traditional humans and have their own small society, however, this has come with the caveat (heh, get it? caveat like cavies the name for the guinea pig family? sorry) that because humans didn't name the rodents and they named themselves, the hamsters ended up calling themselves guinea pigs and the guinea pigs called themselves hampsters! It's quite an annoyance for interdimensional communication, they understand, but they are tolerant of the common mistakes! And good ol' Robert Mitchell is a proud hamster!
no worries at all i reblogged it far later then anyone else in the community because i wasn’t on at the time :( but nonetheless thx for sending me one!
anyways u would be very correct with dados medicine tasting sweet or fruity and generally pleasant tastes, banana being a common flavour due to it being dados favourite flavour, very similar to the taste of candy or even the fruits themselves! you would be right in the fact finding purpose behind what dado does is mostly a pointless endeavour and ur mostly correct with the reasoning. dado is of course a businessman and dados business can be taken away from, what better way is there to improve ur products other than trying ur competitors products? and in his little businessman mind dados thinking is “better flavour and taste = more sales”, though the banana one is definitely just because he likes banana being of the market or not, 9/10 for this one :D
there is not a lot of information on the wiki for robert mitchell apart from him being a guinea pig, not a hamster, though sadly he is not an inter dimensional guinea pig he is quite intelligent, originally a regular pet guinea pig who (in articles im pretty sure) would often accidentally eat products dado created, given intelligence through another product of his. the whole reason he refers to himself as a hamster though is because dado cannot tell the difference between hamsters and guinea pigs, originally wasn’t too fond of this and would try and correct dado which never works usually but has since warmed up to what is an honest misunderstanding, a very proud hamster indeed! 3/10 for this one, thank you again for the ask!

Scott's head canon pls
oooooh yes, Scott....Scott, the man of the hour....
aight here goes- with everything I have that isn't just one big spoiler tag, because he's scheduled for chapter 3 of the fic (every time i try to post his chapter, another character shows up before him in line. Understandably considering the chapter contents....)
main post
gordon
He's like. 15 or 16 or something in this universe. He's expected to be as tall as Gordon, but he's currently about a head shorter.
Gordon wasn't ever expected to be their father's next-in-line, that was their brother North's problem. Then North went off somewhere (everyone claims they haven't heard from him in years) and Scott ended up be "the choson one". Not that there's any competition when [redacted] [redacted] [redacted]......
When he's on the NWR, he sometimes joins Gordon when he does visitor tours. The media loves it, and Gordon gets to focus on showing off every pretty overlook point he knows. Scott just likes avoiding his homework.
Pegler used to be the coach for Gordon and Scott's brother, Nigel Gresley Jr. (who was a runner) and was a close contact of their father, especially in business. Hence why Scott currently lives with him (he eventually works for Sir William McAlpine while he goes through college in America)
He doesn't really *get* why Gordon likes to hang out with Henry so much, but just accepts it as his brother not having enough of a social life.
He also agrees with Gordon that cheese is one of the essential food groups. When Henry declares he's going to try going vegan for a month, Duck nearly sobs in relief. He stops sobbing when he catches Scott eating ice cream and bananas at three in the morning.
Pegler has to travel a lot for work, so Scott is essentially studying independently, not that it's much different from before but Pegler lets him take mail-in courses for his interests in history and geography.
He visits the ranch as much as he can- which is mostly during summers, Christmas, and the occassional time Pegler's got business in the area (which sometimes is just Pegler and Hatt communicating and having Pegler stop by with Scott when one of the brothers is having a rough time.)
As to be expected as a son of a man in showbiz, Scott's got a few tricks up his sleeve. He's very acrobatic, and more then once has found his way into rafters or ledges, dangling in ways that sometimes give even Gordon a good scare. Gordon, Duck, and Edward make an agreement to do their best to keep him away from the Buzzing Bees
and of course, his favorite food is apples. Particualrly of the Granny Smith variety.
he doesn't like the dark, or storms. For good reason. Because [eedacted].
and of course, the piccrews! As always- not my art.

Top 10 Breakfast Foods to Fuel Your Morning
Tumblr media
Whatever your day may bring, breakfast should be the fuel that propels you forward and then keeps you going until lunch, or longer. But what are the best foods for the job? In this article we take a look at the top 10 foods for a healthy breakfast, and also consider some of those you may want to avoid, or at least keep to a minimum.
What Are 10 Healthy Breakfast Foods?
Oats When it comes to kick-starting your day, oats tick all the right boxes. Packed with heart-healthy fibre, they help keep your cholesterol levels in check and your digestive system happy. But the benefits don't stop there. Oats are also full of the good kind of carbs that give you a slow-release energy to power through your morning without hitting a slump. Plus, they're incredibly versatile! Whether you're enjoying a warm bowl of porridge topped with fresh fruit and nuts or grabbing an oat-based granola bar on the go, oats really are the breakfast of champions. Eggs Eggs are one of very few ingredients considered to be a complete food, providing most of the nutrients our body needs. An excellent source of protein, with all nine essential amino acids, eggs will keep you full and focused throughout your morning. They're also full of essential fats, vitamins, and minerals, including vitamin D for bone health and choline for brain function. Whether you prefer them scrambled, boiled, poached, or folded into a fluffy omelette, eggs are as versatile as they are quick and easy to cook. Cereal A super quick fix for a busy morning, cereal can be a wholesome choice too if you choose wisely. We're talking cereals that are whole grain, low in sugar, and high in fibre. Muesli and granola have all the right credentials, but do read the label carefully to make sure they contain more of the good stuff than the bad. You can find out more about why we believe that wholegrains are the heart of a healthy cereal. Top it off with some sliced bananas or a handful of berries for that extra boost of nutrients and sweetness! Wholegrain Toast Sticking with the theme of wholegrains, we should address the elephant in the room. Bread gets such a bad press nowadays but again, when you choose wisely, it is not all bad. Wholegrains are fantastic for heart health and digestion because of their high fibre content, which also keeps you feeling fuller for longer, reducing the temptation for mid-morning snacking. They have a lower glycaemic index than refined grains, so they help maintain steady blood sugar levels. Balanced out with healthy fats and proteins, maybe toast is not the breakfast baddie after all. So, whichever way you slice it, wholegrain toast is a simple and satisfying choice for a nutritious breakfast. Yoghurt When it comes to quick and easy foods for breakfast, yoghurt is a popular choice. An excellent source of probiotics, which are fabulous for maintaining a happy gut flora, it is also packed with protein. Whether you're a fan of the creamy Greek yoghurt or prefer the plant-based varieties, there's a yoghurt out there to suit your taste and nutritional needs. Spoon into a bowl and toss in your favourite fruits, a swirl of honey, and a sprinkle of nuts and seeds for a perfect start to your day. Plus, it's a breeze to prep when you're short on time. Who knew something so simple could be so good for you, right? Fruit Fruits really is nature’s candy, and if you are seeking a little sweetness then this is the sugar to choose. Packed with the good stuff, not only does it satisfy your sweet tooth naturally, but the fibre in fruit helps safeguard against those blood sugar spikes associated with sugar. So, whether it's a vibrant smoothie bowl bursting with tropical sunshine or a simple apple on the go, incorporating fruit into your breakfast is a delicious way to fuel your body and keep your taste buds happy. Vegetables Veggies for breakfast might sound unconventional to some, but there are few foods on the planet as blessed with plant power. Some veg are more suited to breakfast than others, and a chosen few have gained a permanent place in the breakfast lexicon. Spinach has become the acceptable face of greens in the morning, whilst tomatoes and mushrooms have long held their place on the breakfast plate. Peppers and onions pack a punch of flavour that eggs welcome, and even chillies are thought to be an excellent wake up call. Sneaking veggies into your morning meal, adds not just a splash of colour to your plate, but also gives you a head start on the daily nutritional goals. So why not get creative? It's all about making that morning meal work for you in the tastiest, healthiest way possible! Avocado Avocado. The superhero of breakfast foods! Full of heart-healthy monounsaturated fats, it does wonders for keeping those cholesterol levels in check. Whether you're smashing it onto toast or slicing it into a spinach salad, avocados are the gift that keeps on giving. And they have way more to offer than just those good fats; they also have just the right balance of sodium and potassium that can help regulate blood pressure and reduce the risk of stroke. Besides, the creamy texture and subtle flavour makes avocado a dream to pair with almost anything Seeds Seeds do far more than add a toasty crunch. Chia, flax, pumpkin, and sunflower seeds are just a handful of choices that can supercharge your morning routine. Rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which are essential for brain health, seeds contain all the nutrients necessary to grow a whole new plant. That's a lot of goodness in a tiny little space. Sprinkle them over yogurt or oatmeal, toss them into your morning smoothie, or bake them into your morning muffins. They add a satisfying pop of texture and a nutty flavour that gives your brekkie a boost. Nuts Nuts are also champions for your brain, delivering a dose of omega-3s and antioxidants that are sure to keep those neurons firing. Like seeds, they all offer something slightly different, so mix it up with as many varieties as you can. Walnuts are a particularly good choice for breakfast, and are positively brimming with nutrients to boost your brain health.
What Foods Should I Avoid For Breakfast?
Starting your day off with the wrong foods can set you back before you've even stepped out the door, leaving you feeling sluggish or hungry way before lunch. What's more, they do little to support your health on a long term basis either. Let's run through some morning no-no's: Sugary cereals Sugary cereals might be tempting with their bright colors and sweet taste, but they are the very opposite of a healthy breakfast food. These cereals are often loaded with refined sugars and lack substantial fibre, protein, or healthy fats—key elements that give you that lasting energy to tackle your day. When you start your morning with a high-sugar cereal, you're more likely to experience a mid-morning crash as your blood sugar spikes and then plummets. Instead of setting up for success, they leave you reaching for a snack long before lunchtime, not to mention the long-term health impacts of consistently high sugar intake. Read more about making the switch to low sugar cereal Refined pastries and doughnuts Tempting, but no. Refined pastries and doughnuts might seem like the perfect comfort food to start off your morning, yet their convenience and taste come with a downside. These sweet treats are typically made from processed white flour and are packed with sugar, which can lead to a rapid spike in your blood sugar levels. This spike can not only leave you with a notorious 'sugar crash' but also may result in you feeling hungrier sooner. Additionally, they're often bereft of essential nutrients like fibre and protein which are crucial to kickstart your metabolism and keep you feeling full and focused throughout your morning. So, as tempting as they are, it's best to reserve these goodies for occasional treats rather than everyday breakfast fare. High-sugar fruit juices Glugging down a glass of juice might seem like a great way to start your day, but what's really in your glass? High-sugar fruit juices are often missing the fibrous goodness that you find in whole fruits. Without the fibre, that liquid rush of fructose hits your system fast, leading to a quick spike in blood sugar levels. Just like with our not-so-friend, the sugary cereal, you could find yourself tumbling down from a sugar high way before your next meal. Plus, many of these juices have just as much sugar as sodas, minus the beneficial nutrients that whole fruits provide. Much better to grab a piece of fruit for the full quota of flavour, fibre, and vitamins. Processed meat Processed meats, like bacon and sausage, might be breakfast staples for many, but let's take a closer look at that familiar fry up. These meats often go through extensive processing, loaded with salt, preservatives, and sometimes even sweeteners, which ranks them pretty low on the health scale. They're often cited as increasing the risk of chronic diseases such as heart disease and cancer. They're not doing you any favours in the nutrient department either—offering more negatives than positives. It's a far cry from the lean protein and wholesome nutrition you really need to start the day strong. So maybe, instead of making them a morning mainstay, it could be time to lean towards healthier proteins like eggs or Greek yogurt for your first meal of the day. Ultimately, a breakfast built on high-sugar, high-fat, and highly-processed foods can mess with your energy and health. Opting for whole, nutrient-rich foods is always the way to go!
What Are 5 Healthy Breakfast Combinations?
We have seen the foods that make great healthy choices, and some of those that don't. But what really makes a healthy breakfast is striking a balance of all those nutrients. Greek Yogurt Parfait: Layer up Greek yogurt with a mix of fresh berries, a drizzle of honey, and a sprinkle of granola for that delightful crunch. Oatmeal Supreme: Start with warm oatmeal, top it off with sliced bananas and walnuts, and finish with a sprinkle of cinnamon for a heart-healthy treat. Avocado Toast with a Twist: Whole-grain bread toasted to perfection, adorned with mashed avocado, topped with poached eggs, and a pinch of red pepper flakes for a little zing. Smoothie Bowl: Blend some spinach with frozen mango, a banana, and almond milk for your base, then garnish with chia seeds and mixed nuts for an extra energy boost. The Classic with a Healthy Spin: Whole-wheat English muffin with grilled mushrooms, a side of scrambled egg, and a handful of roasted vine-ripened cherry tomatoes for a balanced morning meal. Combining proteins, complex carbs, and healthy fats means you're setting yourself up for a morning of success. Just a few simple ingredients are all you need to fuel your body and mind. In fact, when it comes to healthy food in general, we always think that simple is best. So whether you're a sweet or savoury fan, these breakfast foods are designed to please your palate while giving you the kick-start you need. Remember, the key to a nutritious breakfast is balance—getting those proteins, carbs, and healthy fats altogether on your plate. Mastering Health: Your Ultimate Vegan Meal Plan Guide for Optimal Nutrition
In today's health-conscious world, the trend towards adopting a vegan lifestyle is on the rise, and for all the right reasons. Not only does it align with ethical and environmental concerns, but a well-planned vegan diet can also offer numerous health benefits. However, embarking on a vegan journey requires careful consideration and planning to ensure you're meeting all your nutritional needs. That's where a well-structured vegan meal plan comes into play.

Understanding the Basics of a Vegan Meal Plan
A vegan meal plan is designed to exclude all animal products, including meat, dairy, eggs, and even honey, while focusing on plant-based foods. This approach ensures that individuals following a vegan diet still receive adequate nutrition, including essential vitamins, minerals, protein, and healthy fats.
Crafting Your Perfect Vegan Meal Plan
1. Start with a Solid Foundation
Building your vegan meal plan begins with selecting a variety of nutrient-dense foods to form the foundation of your diet. Incorporate plenty of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, nuts, and seeds into your meals. These foods provide essential vitamins, minerals, fiber, and antioxidants crucial for overall health.
2. Plan Balanced Meals
Each meal should include a balance of carbohydrates, protein, and healthy fats to keep you feeling satisfied and energized throughout the day. Opt for whole grains like quinoa, brown rice, or oats, paired with plant-based protein sources such as beans, lentils, tofu, tempeh, or seitan. Add healthy fats from sources like avocados, nuts, seeds, and olive oil to enhance flavor and promote satiety.
3. Embrace Variety
Variety is key to ensuring you're getting a wide range of nutrients in your diet. Experiment with different fruits, vegetables, grains, and plant-based proteins to keep your meals interesting and flavorful. Incorporating a rainbow of colors onto your plate ensures you're consuming a diverse array of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.
4. Don't Forget About Supplements
While a well-planned vegan diet can provide most essential nutrients, there are a few vitamins and minerals that may require supplementation, such as vitamin B12, vitamin D, omega-3 fatty acids, iron, and calcium. Consult with a healthcare professional or registered dietitian to determine if supplementation is necessary based on your individual needs.
5. Stay Hydrated
Hydration is often overlooked but is essential for overall health and well-being. Aim to drink plenty of water throughout the day, and consider incorporating hydrating foods like fruits and vegetables into your meals to help meet your fluid needs.
Sample Vegan Meal Plan
Breakfast:
Overnight oats topped with fresh berries, sliced bananas, and a sprinkle of chia seeds
Plant-based milk (such as almond, soy, or oat milk)
Snack:
Apple slices with almond butter
Lunch:
Quinoa and black bean salad with mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, avocado, and a squeeze of lime
Balsamic vinaigrette dressing
Snack:
Carrot sticks with hummus
Dinner:
Grilled tofu with roasted vegetables (such as bell peppers, zucchini, and onions) seasoned with herbs and spices
Quinoa pilaf with spinach and pine nuts
Dessert:
Vegan dark chocolate avocado mousse
The Importance of Planning Ahead
Planning ahead is crucial for successfully maintaining a vegan lifestyle. Take the time to meal prep and batch cook ingredients to streamline your week and ensure you always have nutritious options on hand. Invest in quality kitchen tools and cookbooks to inspire creativity and make meal preparation enjoyable.
Final Thoughts
Embarking on a vegan journey can be an incredibly rewarding experience, both for your health and the planet. By following a well-planned vegan meal plan, you can ensure you're meeting all your nutritional needs while enjoying delicious and satisfying plant-based meals. Remember to stay informed, be adventurous in the kitchen, and embrace the journey towards a healthier, more compassionate lifestyle.

Week 43
Reading Edible Economics
I had a bit of a break from reading the book, but now I finished a few new chapters of it. One of them, called Banana, was about developmental economics which I enjoy studying, so it was even more enjoyable to read about. Here's some new words that I picked up while reading: propagated, meagre, cog, perishable, subsidiary, laden, deftly, imbibe, steeped in, sublimated, retrenchment.
Listening to Anything Goes with Emma Chamberlain
I really enjoy listening to podcasts on my free time, but I have had a really hard time finding any interesting podcasts in English. I decided to give Emma Chamberlain's podcast a go, and by doing some nit-picking with the episodes (by not starting from the first episode as my perfectionist self liked but choosing episodes with interesting themes) I am still content with the podcast series. Here's some of my thoughts:
Celebrity privacy (39 min) - Emma claims to offer a new perspective by being a B-list celebrity, but does really not state anything unheard of. All things said a layperson could have thought of.
Seasonal depression (50 min) - A very relatable episode. Emma was listing how she copes with seasonal sadness; as one of my coping mechanisms, I just started taking multivitamins with vitamin D and others in there. She also made an important note to remember to loosen up on the over-achieving during the winter hibernation time, as that will eat you up quicker than during the summer. She also brought up excluding yourself from friends & activities during the winter time as a side effect of seasonal depression: I was thrown a loop as I realized that has been a somewhat consistent problem of mine during the winter time, but I have never linked it with seasonal depression. The more you know!
