Casey's scales.
transcript:
Caption: CJ: sheds his scutes and what few scales he has, but the rest of their skin just gets flaky and irritated, like excema.
Leo: oh dude, are you shedding? That's doesn't look good.
Casey: oh yeah I always does this, the water helps with the itching a bit.
L: Sure, for a second. This hurt?
C: yeah
L: Donnie puts chlorine and stuff in here, it's gotta be drying you out worse. C'mon, were going to the med bay.
L: You can use this twice a day for two weeks. How's it feel?
C: It burns a bit.
L: more than it was?
C: no.
L: good. That should be enough to get the worst of it under control, but if it gets worse after a couple days, we'll try something else.
C: Thanks, Leonardo.

river of january - yu jimin
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
desc: it had been so long since anyone had touched you, let alone tended to your self-inflicted wounds with so much care– karina’s tutelage was something you’d never understand, her borderline obsessive need to always watch over you and take care of you like you were some fragile being that needed to be protected. it was endearing, but a little degrading at the same time. “it’s just what friends do,” is what she says, but it almost makes you wonder if friends also suck each other dry in the back of a nissan altima, clothes spilling on the floor mat. it was a conversation for another day, you figured. cw: fem!reader, fwb, g!p, praise, hurt/comfort, smut, cunnilingus, p in v sex (a LOT) unprotected sex (rina nuts inside every single time sorry), cum eating, switch!karina, mild angst idk ??, car sex (mentioned), mirror sex (frequent), mutual pining, denial of feelings, SERIES! this is part 1/2
wc: 4.1k
in the epilogue of january, the trees are still bare as is your skin from scratching it raw. the weather made the crevices of your body dry, flaky and painful with a need for renewal or some sort of rejuvenation, that of which you never really got, or knew how to get. it was a problem that inevitably needed solving, but never truly saw that resolution until one blonde haired karina yu sat you down on her bathroom floor next to the bathtub laced with mold to put ointment on the irritated areas of your hands and arms. it had been so long since anyone had touched you, let alone tended to your self-inflicted wounds with so much care– karina’s tutelage was something you’d never understand, her borderline obsessive need to always watch over you and take care of you like you were some fragile being that needed to be protected. it was endearing, but a little degrading at the same time. “it’s just what friends do,” is what she says, but it almost makes you wonder if friends also suck each other dry in the back of a nissan altima, clothes spilling on the floor mat. it was a conversation for another day, you figured. karina holds your hand and opens your hand like a flower, pressing the hydrocortisone treatment into your palm with her brows furrowed. it was a natural look– a frightening one, and one to be feared. if karina was a leopard, you were a mouse. not her prey, necessarily, but you could be. you could never fear karina, not now, not ever. not even if you wanted to. “apply this once a day, yeah? right after you shower,” karina points out all of the dry spots of your skin. “here, and here, and here.” you’ve learned that it’s best to just listen to karina in these situations. she knows best, after all. your fingers envelope the tube, and you tuck it into your coat pocket carefully. “yeah, yeah,” you nod, your voice small. you avoid eye contact with everyone, not only karina, so you always ask her not to take it personally. and she never does. she assumes you don’t notice her staring at your jaw as you look away, but your peripheral is strong. you don’t say anything about it. you don’t need to. some things are better left unsaid. the following evening, you don’t speak much. karina confines herself in her room for much of the day, though you briefly see her shadow from under your door, as if she’s about to knock and come in, but she never does. she stands, contemplates, then you hear little footsteps retreating back to where she came from. despite this, every day ends the same. you shower after dinner, and go to karina’s room to bid her goodnight, as you’ve done every day since you first became roommates in your first year of university. you knock, your knuckles gentle against the door so you don’t wake her if she’s already sleeping, or startle her if she isn’t. “come in,” is what she utters, and you turn the knob of the door and push it open, the creaks of the hinges echoing softly. karina’s room was so empty. it was white and desolate, though dark most of the time. you hesitate to speak, at first. “i’m… i’m gonna head to bed,” you whisper. there isn’t much of a need for such a quiet tone, but it feels necessary. it’s so late, and you can barely see her, but the light from outside of the room reveals enough of your stature to her, and she silently gawks at your damp hair. karina lets out a soft hum of approval, turning over in bed. every day ends the same, but it isn’t this. “can i—” and before you can finish your sentence, karina lets out the tiniest ‘mhm’. she doesn’t even know what you were asking for, but maybe she doesn’t have to know. the thought of you doing anything was more than enough.
you crawl into karina’s bed, and she’s emotional, crumbling like a dead flower into your hands and body, arms wrapped around your waist and kisses peppered against the nape of your neck. this is what friends do. you’re taking care of each other. she took care of you, now it’s your turn. you swallow, hands already tugging at the waistband of her boxers, your parted lips meeting in an urgent kiss. you had only just started and you already felt the tent in rina’s briefs pressing against your thigh. “that was quick,” you remarked, watching her face flush with embarrassment. her clothes were so cute you almost didn’t want to take them off. her boxers were plaid; periwinkle and white, and she wore a matching cropped shirt that hugged her figure nicely, though if you said that, she’d probably end up feeling bad about it. karina didn’t like compliments (or, at least, didn’t receive them well) you learned quickly after meeting her, when you complimented her cat-like eyes and she turned into a broken record trying to spit out something as simple as a ‘thank you’. karina closes her eyes, trying to collect herself, to no avail. “i’m sorry,” she mumbles. “you don’t have to,” she continues as her eyes open slowly, glossed over. “i want to,” you stroke her platinum hair, the tresses falling between your fingers softly. she had dyed her hair this color before, but it was just a little lighter this time, and her roots were already growing in. she had almost a disheveled charm to her, and the messiness of it at this hour was doing her a favor. “do you… not want it?” “i don’t know what you’re trying to give me,” karina’s tongue flicks out and coats her lips in saliva. “it feels wrong regardless.” wrong. you pull back a little. “how so?” she doesn’t reply. “it’s fine. we don’t have to,” you begin to move further away, and karina sits up, shaking her head quickly. “no, no, i want to,” karina speaks hurriedly. “i want to. i want to, i promise.” you lean in again, lips hovering over karina’s, breath hot against her mouth. you look at her in her eyes for the first time in a long time, and it feels real. her pupils dilate, chestnut irises deep as they stare back– you can almost see your reflection in them. and naturally, the night ended with your jaw sore and karina’s hands wrapped around your waist as you slept, and inevitably, you missed your alarm. your phone was in your own room anyway, not like you wanted to go back there that bad in any case. - “do you think we can stay like this forever?” is what karina asked on march 8th. the seasons are shifting and so is she— so are you. your exchanges are more frequent, more deep. it’s just sex, allegedly, but you haven’t told anyone, and it all feels so real. rina installs a mirror in your bedroom on the 9th, full body and tall, initially so you can have a better view of your outfits; the mirror had been on the floor before, and you could only see your midriff and everything below.
the reflection ended up being used for more intensive purposes.
karina sat on the foot of your bed while you sat on her cock, raw, and facing her. she stared into your mirror, watching the way your back flexed as your arms moved around her neck. her mouth fixated on your shoulder, sucking bruises into the skin. her fingers snaked around your waist and gripped it, one hand on your hip and the other on your thigh. karina shudders when she finally comes, shakily caressing your cheek with her thumb and kissing you softly. neither of you were very talkative during the act, or afterwards for that matter. something shifted. “i want to try something,” karina picks you up, her dick still buried deep in your cunt, and flips you over, pinning your back to the mattress. you feel it shift inside of you, twitching ever so slightly, and it makes you gasp. “sorry. did i move too quick?” you meet her question with a head shake. “no, never. it’s okay.” rina finally looks down between her legs, carefully pulling out and moving her head so she can watch her fluids ooze out of your swollen pussy. “can i?” she whispers, and you cock your head like a confused puppy. karina had only gone down on you once, and that was a year ago. you weren’t sure if she just thought you hated it (you didn’t) or she just didn’t like doing it. karina was obviously good at receiving head, but giving had seemed to just not be her forte. that couldn’t possibly be what she was asking for. “can you…?” you trail off, an eyebrow quirked. “taste.” straightforward enough. you’re shocked, but you nod. karina holds your thighs, spreading them open. “so pretty,” she whispers, grinning at the sight of your puffy cunt, overstimulated from her cock. she presses the base of her tongue to your clit, eyes following yours until they’re out of sight as you feverishly throw your head back in a sharp moan. she suckles, gently rubbing the goosebumps on your tender skin. she sighs into your heat, doubling your reactions before she pulls back. “you taste good, too,” the mixture of flavors— her own semen mixed with your hot slick made her salivate, and almost instantly made her hard again. karina spits onto her hand, coating her cock with saliva as she strokes, her tongue pistoning in and out of you until you finally come on her face. her climax follows shortly afterwards, but onto her own stomach, embarrassingly. thankfully, it wasn’t much, seeing as she had already came once before. “aw,” karina teasingly pouts. “baby made such a mess,” she says, wiping your slick from her chin with the back of her hand. you swat her on the top of her head. she quietly shrieks. “oh, shut up, asshole, you just came all over yourself,” and she does shut up, but she shuts you up too. if she goes down, you’re going with her. she kisses you, and so many flavors enter your mouth. all not half bad. the combination is a little odd, though. it tastes of sex. “go shower,” you urge her, and without a second thought, she complies, standing and walking to the bathroom. as soon as she leaves you become very aware of your now sore and aching legs. she always debilitates you. every time, without fail. -
mid-april was when you started to feel it. a fuzzy feeling in your stomach, not as easy to dismiss as you would have liked. a latent aching in her chest every time karina was near, every time she scrunched her nose at a bad smell or asked you to open a plastic water bottle for her. this is what you were afraid of.
the question comes up late at night, while you trace karina’s face with the pads of your fingers in bed, mapping her features carefully. it slips out before you can even think of stopping it.
“are you sleeping with anyone else?”
a small smile tugs at karina’s lips. her eyes were closed, but now, they flutter open. fuck, she’s cute. maybe a little too cute for comfort.
“no, not really,”
you scoff. “not really? it was a yes or no question.”
karina isn’t taking this seriously. she sits up, leaving your fingers dangling on the pillow she once rested on. “i said no,” karina pinches your arm playfully.
“you said not really,”
“i also said no, didn’t i?”
she gives you a smug grin, the kind of grin that makes you want to want to wipe it clean off her face, either with your lips or your hands. the kind of grin that makes you want to suffocate her, whether it be via sitting on her face or shoving her face in a pillow. what a bastard.
“do i need to spell it out for you?” you grumble, swatting her hands away. they were smaller in comparison to most people you had slept with, but you had gotten used to it. her fingers were a comfortable size inside of you— not too big but not too little. you had adapted. she nods, her gaze flicking from your eyes to your lips, up and down, down and up. “has anyone touched your dick but me since we started… this? whatever this is?”
karina swirls circles on the skin of your thigh, sucking her teeth. “no,” she whispers, barely audible.
“a little louder?”
karina gives you a playful shove, her face and ears reddening. “shut up,” she whines, climbing on top of you, not meaning to make this situation any more complicated than it already had to be, but her clothed length pushed up against your thigh softly, still soft, but not for long after making contact.
“fuck,” she grumbles, pulling away. “i’m sorry.”
“what for? i can fix it for you, if that’s what you want. or what you need,”
karina breathes into the crook of your neck. “not what i need. you’re what i need, just you,” karina’s breath is hot, tickling the lobe of your ear and shoulder. “is that okay?”
of course it’s okay. it’s more than okay— she’s more than okay. one hand situates on her waist while the other teases the waistband of her shorts, fishing out her cock, leaking with pre-come.
“hurts,” she groans.
“i know baby, it’s fine,” you coo, stroking torturously slow, enough to make drool drip from her bottom lip. “can you fuck me? fuck me like you mean it, please,” you whisper in between chaste kisses while her fingertips slide your panties to the side and rubbing her slicked tip along your entrance. “say you will, unnie,”
“i will,” the older whispers, sliding into you slowly but surely, as if it was the first time. letting you adjust to the size. you’re tighter than ever and you feel the throbbing and twitching inside and it’s overwhelming. you sigh contently, pitching forward and forcing her to move deeper. everything is wet and filthy as you clench around her.
by the time karina comes, her eyes are unfocused, heaving as she pulls out.
-
after class, you use your remaining braincells on overanalyzing your recent interactions with karina while she drives you home.
she drove you to class.
she drove you from class.
she’s pulling over at a café for tea.
she cares, that’s for sure, but you can’t tell if it’s flirty or friendly. this isn’t a date. she isn’t buying you tea to be flirtatious, this isn’t her attempt at being coy. she’s doing it because you’re friends. she doesn’t kiss you constantly because she likes it, she does it because you’re friends. it’s a good friendship, it was before you first sucked her off in that godforsaken car, and it is now. you’re good buddies. good buddies, who fuck. a lot.
but it’s a little soft. you have to really try hard to bite back that childish smile when she spits out your order to the barista without missing a beat, as if she’s memorized it since the day you first told her. it feels like touching a freshly washed and conditioned pillowcase, now devoid of stains and impurities. it feels like sleeping after a long day of work. it feels like the euphoria of holding karina close while she’s still inside, the warmth of it all almost enough to sweat over. that’s what it’s like. they’re good buddies, but it should be more. it feels like more.
when you recieve your drinks, karina opts to sit outside. the wind tosses her hair around, and she briefly tucks it behind her ears and holds it in place to get a good, long look at you.
you eye your eczema marks. she notices just as quick as you do.
“have you been putting that ointment on like i asked?”
good to know she still cares.
“sometimes,” you take a sip of your tea. the barista brewed it a little sweeter than you would have liked, and the ginger flavor is a bit too overpowered. you swallow it down anyway. “when i remember,”
karina tuts. “you need to remember all the time.”
you trace your tongue around the hole. “it’s not so bad anymore, since it’s getting warmer, yeah?”
karina looks away. “what are you doing?”
“nothing.”
“i’m not gonna fuck you. we’re in public.”
you snort. “when has that ever stopped you?”
karina stops dead in her tracks. it was true. of course, she preferred to do these things in the comfort of your own home, but it wasn’t like you hadn’t ever done it in public. only ever cars and bathrooms, but that was only when she really needed it. a painful amount of need.
“you can’t just wait?”
you begin to shake your head no, but, on second thought, sure, maybe you could. maybe it’ll feel better the longer you go without it. without her.
“you owe me,” is what you reply with, taking another slow sip. the tea is hot, so you’re careful not to fill your mouth with too much.
karina rakes a hand through her dark hair, pushing it away from her eyes consequentially. “if you weren’t so good to me, i would’ve called you a slut by now,”
you laugh. she was always so nice, you could never even fathom that kind of vulgarity leaving her lips, let alone towards you.
“why haven’t you? how do you know i’m not into that?” you tease, a little more fervor in your voice than what would typically be deemed appropriate.
karina uses her cup as a handwarmer, holding it and slowly spinning it repeatedly on the table as she speaks. “you don’t peg me as the type of person to like that,”
“i don’t peg you at all, so,” you jest, tilting your head.
“pervert,” she whispers under her breath.
a little overzealous, you kick her leg under the table.
“don’t worry, i like when you’re nice to me. i just wonder how you tolerate me,” you soften the blow by rubbing her knuckles from across the oak. this is what couples do. and she isn’t even stopping you.
“i wonder too,” she pretends to think. “you’re pretty, maybe. that probably helps.”
“god, rina,” you roll your eyes. cheesy. “no need to stroke my ego,”
she leans back in her chair, legs parted almost invitingly. she isn’t asking for anything verbally, but she might as well be. you take it that way regardless.
“mhm,” karina interlocks your fingers and crosses a digit over your index, pushing down and popping the joint. you feel like the pressure in your hands has been released. a moan escapes your lips, not intentionally, but karina has that same bastard look on her face like she planned this. “yeah. i’m gonna fuck you so good when we get back,”
and that promise was enough to hold you back, just for a little.
-
it’s like a premarital honeymoon. no— a pre-relationship honeymoon. every night ends with sex, and it isn’t even just every night now. sometimes twice a day, whenever it seems right.
the days you two don’t end up tangled in the sheets, flushed and nude, chests heaving, are the days that leave you feeling empty, figuratively and literally. you feel like you could do this forever. maybe it’s a possibility.
you bring it up in may, when the heat in the atmosphere is rising but the heat between you and karina rises faster. you hate these conversations. you hate that you can’t stop talking about it. curiosity killed the cat, and you are one hungry kitty, that’s for sure. possibly high on catnip.
when you ask karina her thoughts on marriage (not with you, of course), she doesn’t answer. she pretends to be asleep, but her eyes are clenched shut too tight, it’s evident that she’s still awake. you don’t push it.
the following morning, you wake up with karina’s lips pressing sleepy open-mouthed kisses to your jaw, her wet tongue making fleeting contact with your skin every time.
you grunt with every peck, until the pecks become more than that and travel to your mouth. you’ve never kissed her in the morning before, but it feels good. her tongue pushes back on yours and it feels like she’s devouring you. you would let her. she could swallow you whole and you wouldn’t even mind.
she trails a series of kisses down your abdomen, stopping just below your navel and moving back up, meeting your lips with her own. it throbs between your legs.
“god, you’re so fucking beautiful,” she mumbles, her eyes still hooded and voice raspy and tired.
as your body wakes up, as do the butterflies in your stomach, fluttering.
“quit that,” you say, subconsciously. it isn’t what you want. you don’t want her to quit that. that’s the last thing you want.
you hear the hummingbirds outside, and it snapped your brain back to reality. you have class, and as much as you would like to lay here with karina forever, that’s not what your gpa wants. your friends have already started to wonder where you spend all your time nowadays. your professors don’t need to ask the same.  unfortunately, karina pulls away and topples back over beside you. she’s very obedient. she doesn’t snarl or get upset when you tell her no. she doesn’t even seem embarrassed. you feel the urge to pet her and say ‘good dog’ for being so good at following directions, but you don’t. instead, it just ends with a thank you and a kiss on the antihelix of her ear.
she pouts. you thought this would be over so quick?
“can’t you just let me?” she whines, grumbling under her breath like a spoiled child. this is what she wants. it’s what she wants, you asshole, and you aren’t even giving it to her. “you make me feel good. why won’t you ever let me reciprocate?”
standing over her in bed, you feel a little bad. “making you feel good makes me feel good, rina. it’s fine,”
evidently, that isn’t a good enough answer for her. “making you feel good makes me feel good, and if that makes you feel good, then we all feel good, yeah?”
the hodgepodge of words sends you spiraling.
“you’re reading too deep into this.”
“you aren’t reading deep enough,” she rebuts, hand on your wrist. “just once. i like you. let me show you.”
karina had never been the kind of person you assumed just wanted to get her dick wet. this wasn’t just fucking to her, and it wasn’t for you either. you liked each other, but not in that way, of course not in that way.
of course not.
you had said it to yourself a million times to drill it into your skull. you’re just friends. you’re just friends. you’re just friends.
you cave.
“fine,” and you situate yourself back on the bed, on the foot, this time. karina understands. she moves to the floor, on her knees, carpet burning the skin on her caps. right in front of the mirror, how convenient. her fingers curl around your panties, tugging them to your knees, before she looks up at you with lusty eyes filled with want.
“you’re going to watch yourself?” karina asks. your lack of an answer tells karina everything she needs to know. “dirty girl.”
soaked, she kitten licks your folds, swollen with desire and glistening. your own wetness coats the very inner parts of your thighs. “christ,” she croaks, voice muffled from between your legs, “so fucking wet for me,” and she watches you intently as she sucks on your clit, swelling on her tongue. you had actually intended on looking in the mirror until karina started staring. it made you feel a little comfortable, really. she could be doing anything else, but she was here, bruising her knees for your pleasure, and making sure to eye your pretty face the whole time.
it makes you want to love her. to hold her hand and kiss her and actually be able to say, ‘this is my girlfriend’. it was a silly dream, but the thought of it mixed with karina’s tongue fucking your hole? yeah. it was more than enough to make a mess all over her chin. it was shameful how quick it ended.
it was getting sickening. maybe it was the heat of the moment, maybe it was something entirely different. maybe it was just nature. an incessant voice at the back of your head just fucking begging you to say it. you part your lips.
“i think i love you.”

Tumblr media
disclaimer i am NOT a dermatologist so to create this post i did LOTS of research and i'll link all of my sources at the end of the post. i just wanted to kind of put everything that i found in here so i hope its helpful 💕🗒️
Tumblr media Tumblr media
HOW TO DETERMINE UR SKIN TYPE ;
wash ur face with a gentle cleanser, pat dry and wait for about 30 minutes. if ur skin appears shiny throughout then u have oily skin, if ur skin appears tight/flaky then u have dry skin.
if u notice a slight shine on your nose and forehead then you have normal skin. if you have a combination skin type, then the skin will get oily around the t-zone.
INGREDIENTS TO LOOK FOR ;
for skin with acne -> salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide, sulfur and mandelic acid.
for dry skin -> lactic acid, hyaluronic acid, ceramides and glycerin.
for pigmented skin -> mandelic acid, niacinamide, vitamin C, and arbutin.
INGREDIENTS THAT U SHOULD NOT MIX ;
mixing retinol and vitamin C causes irritation, mixing vitamin C and glycolic acid results in over-exfoliation, mixing AHA and retinol causes extreme dryness.
INGREDIENTS THAT U SHOULD MIX ;
hyaluronic acid + ceramides = repairing skin barrier. niacinimide + salicylic acid = healing acne. retinol + niacinimide = collagen production.
GLOWY SKIN TIPS ;
use a cleansing balm to cleanse ur face to remove all the impurities from ur skin
use serums to hydrate ur skin
lather on moisturizer, dont put too much to the point where ur skin cannot produce its own oils, but you MUST moisturize
apply sunscreen everyday, not only on ur face but also on ur neck and hands
face masks 1-2x a week
get enough sleep, drink enough water, and steer clear of overly processed foods
SKINCARE DOESNT STOP AT UR CHIN ;
its important to take care of the skin on ur neck for SO many reasons because skincare doesnt stop at ur chin. ur neck reflects the first signs of aging, and its most susceptible to sun damage so show it some love!
use the same products that u use on ur face on ur neck also, moisturize ur neck and always apply sunscreen, lastly, use some retinol to build collagen.
HOW TO APPLY RETINOL ;
when applying retinol, use a pea sized amount. avoid application around ur eyes and the openings in ur nose, and use retinol in ur night skincare routine only.
HOW OFTEN TO USE SKINCARE ;
retinol should be used nightly (1-2x a week for beginners). hyaluronic acid should be used (2x a day). salicylic acid should be used (1-2x a week). sunscreen should be applied daily, no need to apply it at night and if u can, you should reapply it every 2-3 hours. vitamin C (1x a day in the morning).
SERUMS FOR UR SKIN-TYPE ;
for oily skin use -> salicylic acid, niacinimide and mandelic acid.
for dry skin use -> hyaluronic acid, ceramides and lactic acid.
for normal skin use -> vitamin C, glycolic acid, and retinol.
for aging skin use -> peptides, retinol and vitamin C.
for acne prone skin use -> salicylic acid, retinol, and niacinimde.
for combination skin use -> mandelic acid, niacinimide, and glycolic acid.

Hey, after Jokull's illness is revealed, would you be able to tell us what it would do in other eeveelution forms?
I'm mostly curious and have a hankering for learning cool ideas
Yeah! I can do it now, its been long revealed by now lmao...i made a post a while ago explaining this partucular topic a little
In essence, the effect is different depending on what type the person is. I listed out in terms of Eeveelutions but it could really go for any pokemon (like other ice types species could experience the same thing)
Vaporeon: causes involuntary bubbles, the affected's skin/fur is extra slippery and damp as theyre unable to control their water levels. Could cause unwated rain showers, which develop into torrential rainstorms if left untreated
Jolteon: prone to their own electricity, often shocks themselves and others, strength increasing if unregulated. Fur/hair becomes static and is very difficult to keep neat. A faint, constant crackling sound can be heard if nearby, which is more audible if not treated
Flareon: the affected uncontrollably releases bursts of flame. Water irritates their skin, need specially treated water to drink/wash with. They are very hot to the touch. At their worst, the affected experiences blazing hot fevers.
Espeon: the affected is often plagued with awful headaches due to the heightened psychic power. Their senses are extremely sharp; some can even read minds. but the pain can be too much, often leading to a drastic change in personality as a symptom
Umbreon: their daytime vision is terrible, but nighttime vision is stellar. They also feel unnaturally tired during the day, as if they have not slept in weeks. Similarly to psychic, they experience headaches but its not as potent, feels more like a buzz of darkness
Leafeon: the affected's leafage is prone to degradation and if untreated they will wither fast. Their skin is also very prone to becoming dry and flaky. Need lots of water to regulate.
Glaceon: the affected cannot control their body temperature and is prone to freezing from their own powers. Causes unwanted ice storms. Very cold to the touch, warm temperatures can irritate them
Sylveon: involuntarily releases a lot of fairy mist, and smells very sweet like perfume but the smell can become quite pungent if untreated. They are also more delicate and fragile than usual, and have to take extra care to prevent random injuries.

Before prison
Kevin doesn't have a strict routine to his mornings, He's quite impulsive, really, Does whatever he wants whenever he wants. The only thing he does everyday with no fail is clean his face.
His wake patterns are inconsistent but usually go between 5am-7am.
The days he wakes up at 7 are the rare days his mom is responsible for driving him to school, He likes making Eva stressed by being ready at the last minute or just straight up taking his sweet time, Making her late for work and other affairs. He doesn't really care if he's late for school it's usually a bonus for him to spend less time in that cesspool.
He likes to alternate between the two to add to her anxiety of not knowing if she should let her workers know she's going to be behind schedule that day.
On the much more common days when his dad gets him to school he likes to have some alone time before he has to put on the mask for the rest of the day.
He sets a morning alarm for 5am, (Sometimes if he's exceptionally tired that morning he snoozes it to 5:30 or 6) It takes him around 5-10 minutes to fully wake up.
Once he gets out of bed he either goes to wash his face and sit on his computer until his parents call him down for breakfast or immediately grabs his archery gear to practice in the back yard, Still in his pajamas.
He could train from 10 minutes to a full hour, De-stressing before he has to play the irritating game of pretend with Franklin, He often imagines people like his family or classmates in place of the target, Sometimes his teachers if he has a test that day or if they were particularly annoying recently.
Once he's finished his morning training he feels like he can finally truly start the day, He like to take a cold shower to cool off from the session (even in the winter).
I feel like he'd be kind of lazy with his hygiene but not to a disgusting degree, Things that wouldn't really be noticeable. Like sometimes not even bothering to shampoo his hair or only using soap on his armpits or not brushing his teeth, Because his hair isn't oily, He doesn't smell bad and he's going to eat before he goes out anyway so what's the point?
Two things he does bother to do is bare minimum skincare and shave his face.
He does both not just to stick to the uncomfortably not age appropriate look he's got going on with the little T-shirts and all, But also because he just really hates the texture of his face when it isn't smooth.
When he started puberty and the hair and zits came onto his face he went crazy picking at his skin and only made it breakout even worse, So he began taking Accutane and shaving his face. The Accutane made it dry and a little flaky which irritated him to no end too so he started using Eva's face cleanser and moisturizer and it solved the problem right up.
He uses her personal moisturizer and cleanser just to be an asshole and make her have to waste her money and buy it more frequently, But he does have a secret stash of one or two containers just in case she stops.
He does everything in the shower, Piss, Brush his teeth (if he bothers to), Jack off, Shaving and skincare.
Sometimes he likes to leave the door open, lower the water pressure of the shower head so it goes quiet and beat his meat really loud just to bother Eva, Every time he hears her slam the bathroom door shut when he does that he can't help but laugh his ass off.
He takes 5-30 minutes to shower depending on how lazy he is that day, When he finishes he takes a peek outside of the door and if his mom's in view he just walks out butt ass naked to irk her even more.
He doesn't care about what he's gonna wear that day, Not like he has much choice between his like 7 T-shirts he's been wearing since forever and 3 pairs of skinny jeans.
If he has some time left before breakfast he goes online to look at stuff, Usually gore or a news report about this school shooter or that serial killer.
When he's done he goes down for breakfast, He's a picky eater, Usually a plain strawberry jelly sandwich or plain cereal, He adds milk to the cereal if he's feeling adventurous that day.
Sometimes he gets caught up with his computer and misses the time window for breakfast or just doesn't feel like dealing with his family in the kitchen and stays in his room, If he didn't brush his teeth that morning he pops a mint or two and goes down the stairs when his parents call him to get in the car.
After Prison
After 7 years of prison Kevin develops a strict routine, Not out of need or compulsiveness, Rather out of being accustomed with it. He becomes very punctual but still wouldn't really mind if his routine gets thrown off schedule.
He wakes up at 5am sharp, He is no longer allowed to practice archery so he exercises in his room until 5:30, He often reminisces about the early mornings he would train in the backyard, Exhilarated by violent fantasies and the wind cooling down his body. In particularly vulnerable moments he closes his eyes and pretends like he's back to that Thursday, Shooting his crossbow in the gymnasium.
When he's finished he heads to the shower, His personal hygiene has gotten better and more thorough in his method. He uses body soap, shampoo and conditioner everyday and brushes his teeth well.
Although while he was incarcerated he was quick with his showers, When he gets out Kevin takes his time and savors every single minute of it, He hated showering next to other disgusting naked people and he hated having such a short time limit for it.
He doesn't use any of Eva's skincare products anymore, He became even more possessive of his belongings after prison and can't even bare the thought of another person using the same soap as he does.
He doesn't leave the door open anymore either, He always checks that it's indeed locked before he gets in the shower.
Kevin still does everything in the shower with the added task of dressing himself, He stopped prancing around naked as it reminds him of prison like previously mentioned, Sometimes Kevin thinks that it might be karma for what he used to do to his mom in his teen years.
He has a timer set for 6:30am, Plenty of time to wash, Dry and dress himself, He almost always finishes putting his shirt on right as the timer dings, He wishes he could wear the T-shirts to his office job but he also doesn't want to get fired after someone finally agreed to hire him.
He heads back to his room to make his bed, Sits on his desk chair and opens his computer.
Having no internet access for 7 years means he finally has more new content than time to view all of it, He catches up on all of the shiny new viruses, Gore, Porn, True crime and other shock sites and videos he can consume. If he finds something particularly good he saves it as wanking material for later, Some things just never change.
At 7am Kevin goes down to eat breakfast with Eva, His mind is usually preoccupied with his online findings from earlier and prefers to keep quite while eating, Sometimes he does entertain his mother with a one or two word answer to her small talk, And even though he is living at her house, He still feels like every interaction in a closed room with her is like a prison visitation.
He's not as picky with his food anymore, Usually eating whatever his mom has cooked for both of them, Not because he thinks it tastes good or even decent, Rather out of being used to eating whatever is served and not wanting to waste time by cooking for himself.
By 7:30 Kevin and his mom are in the car, Eva is driving him to an office job she helped him score, Some kind of salesperson job. The drives are also quiet, Not as heavy as the silence they usually have at home, but it still feels somewhat loaded.
And every day when Eva drops him off in front of the office building he can hear her say:
"Have a good day Kev, I love you."
And every day Kevin's face darkens as he clenches his fists, Because he knows that no matter what;
He could never bring himself to lie and say it back.

hand me the keys to your heart - hands
Tara’s always been fascinated with Sam’s hands. For longer than she can even remember, to hear her sister tell it. Even from birth, she’d say, smug grin on her face as she recites – with the obvious familiarity that comes with an often-repeated tale – how Tara would always reach out for Sam’s hands and no-one else’s, how she’d wrap tiny little fingers around Sam’s own and grip her so tight, and how she’d cry when she was made to let go.
“You had me wrapped around your little finger,” Sam would joke at the end of her reminiscing, “or was it you wrapped around mine?” and Tara would groan and smack her on the shoulder, resisting when her big sister would retaliate by holding her close and crooning about how much Tara loved her, before she even knew what love was.
She did. She does. She loves all of Sam. But her hands? They held the key.
They unlocked every part of her, knew just how to strum the strings of her heart. With just the slightest touch, Sam knew how to leave her quivering, or crying on the floor. They held and they pushed. There was an invisible string tied to those hands that ended right in Tara’s chest. She’d lived by those hands, and someday, she thinks, they may just be the ones that end her.
She wonder’s what Sam would do if she knew just how much power she truly held over her. If she would ever take advantage of it, if she would run away again.
She doesn’t know which is the more frightening prospect.
(She does. Of course she does. She’d gladly be under Sam’s thumb for the rest of her days if it only meant she’d stay. It used to frighten her, it made her rebel against her own heart; this isn’t what people want – to be captured, to be caged. It couldn’t, it had to be wrong. But now, after everything, how could she deny it any longer. A cage made from Sam’s arms, and a lock from her hands, is the sweetest home she’s ever known.)
As a child, Tara loved the way Sam’s hands were big and strong and warm, how they held her so gently, soothed her pain and wiped away her tears. They were the hands of a caregiver, of someone filled with love; soft and kind and always there.
Until the day they weren’t.
They disappeared from her life, and when they came back, they were almost unrecognisable.
Almost.
But not quite. There was no hiding the careful way they would touch her, how they would reach out – long to touch her, to keep her near. Sam could never resist being close, could never stray too far, hands hovering, waiting, prepared, just in case they were needed.
As a child, Tara was fascinated with Sam’s hands. She loved to hold them, to swing their arms together as they walked, to take comfort in the steady presence. She’d spend hours running her fingers over her sister’s palms, squeezing her fingers, mapping every line and crease. Even younger, a teething toddler had found a soothing toy in those hands. Never once did Sam complain or pull away, an unwavering force that had accepted its fate, like this is what she was born to do, to touch and be touched.
As an adult, Sam’s hands are rough and scarred. Her nails are rugged, scratched and bumpy from layers of uneven polish and careless handling. Her palms are callused, from years of manual labour and hard living – a far cry from the writer the girl had once dreamed to be. Sam’s need to chug coffee and energy drinks to dispel cravings for that best left in the past, leave her dehydrated, skin forever littered with dry patches.
Somehow, Tara only loves them more.
She loves them best when her nailbeds are red and flaky and scented with iron.
The thought almost makes her salivate.
Sighing, Tara realises there will be no more sleep for her tonight, still too wired from the day before. Even now, as she thinks back, she feels her heart begin to beat faster, her chest becoming tight and her feet beginning to tingle, toes curling, excitement flooding back.
She huffs into the night, irritated at her own lack of control. She should be better than this. She used to be better than this.  She used to be able to hide how she felt, even to herself.
Since Sam’s return to her life, she’s felt that mastery begin to slip. As usual, it’s all her sister’s fault.
Sam’s good at causing problems, but on this occasion, Tara won’t hold it against her. She can’t think of a more wonderful problem to have.
Tara reaches for her favourite fidget toy – draped over her waist, never far – to while away the time until Sam wakes.
There’s a needy part of her that wants her attention now, to roll over and wake her sister up. Sam wouldn’t mind, she never does. She’d flash her a sleepy smile and tease her through a yawn and run her fingers through her hair, and it would be oh-so-sweet.
But they were up late, partaking in all the pleasures flesh has to offer with carnal abandon, and Sam had done so well, given her so much. She deserves to rest.
Tara smiles, memory of their victim’s screams echoing in her mind. The smell of iron and fear still lingers around them. If she’d had her way, Tara never would have showered at all, never have let the night be cleansed, but Sam had insisted.
She’s always so thorough, so concerned. It’s endearing. Tara would never let them get caught, it would mean being separated, it would mean an end to their fun. And she’s only just getting started.
There’s an insatiable hunger that slumbers within her, one that only her sister can feed.
As she runs a nail over Sam’s palm, she thinks of how skilful they are. Precise and accurate, never faltering. Every movement she’d made was carefully calculated. They’d led her through the motions so naturally, wielding Tara’s hand as if it were her own.
Tara’s never found a better teacher than her sister, never learnt with half as much eagerness as she does with Sam hovering over her shoulder, urging her on and whispering encouragements.
She’s intently investigating a scar on Sam’s palm – not for the first time – when the woman breathes deep behind her and nudges her shoulder with her nose.
“That tickles,” her sister mumbles. Tara can feel the way she stretches her legs out behind her, preparing to wake.
“Sorry,” she murmurs back. “Go back to sleep, it’s still early.”
Sam hums. “Too late. Besides, you’re up, what’re we looking at?” She peers over Tara’s shoulder as the smaller girl twists to look up at her, almost sheepish.
“Still obsessed with my hands? I don’t blame you,” she jokes, “they’re nice hands.”
Tara rolls her eyes. It’s too early for this. “Shut up.”
She only gets a glimpse of a grin, a flash of white in the night, before she’s being grabbed and rolled over, body leaving the bed.
“Oh look at that,” Sam says, arms wrapped around her securely as she nestled the smaller girl into her lap. “I’ve got the whole world in my hands.”
Tara groans.
She’s never loved anyone more.

hi 🩷 i remember people asking you about skincare in the past and i wanted to ask if you had any suggestions for dry/flaky skin from tretinoin use.
also, i adore your writing so so much.
hi, i am happy to offer suggestions -- but take my answer with a grain of salt. if you are using tret under a doctor or derm's supervision, please connect with them on the best products for you.
if you are dry, flaking, and irritated there is a chance you may have damaged your lipid barrier. i would recommend the marie veronique barrier lipid complex ($95) - helps restore your moisture barrier, deeply hydrating, helps with signs of aging. in my opinion, truly worth every penny. i'm a huge fan of mv in general. in general i would also recommend a solid hyaluronic acid serum. i like the moon juice plump jelly ($58). but am also a huge fan of the good molecules hyaluronic serum ($12), and the farmacy filling good hyaluronic serum ($42). hyaluronics are a dime a dozen, but some are definitely better than others.
lastly, a solid night time moisturizer that doesn't have aha's bha's or retinols. the tret is doing all the work here. my go to for people who are really irritated/dry/flaky is the ultra repair cream from first aid beauty ($18 - $48), but i also really like doctor rogers restore face cream ($78).
i understand that a lot of these are on the pricier side, but i do think they are very well made products. search around for where you can find discounts or deals if/where you can!

What You Need to Know About Skin Care After Sun Exposure
Sun exposure can have both positive and negative effects on your skin. On one hand, it can provide vitamin D, boost your mood, and enhance your appearance. On the other hand, it can also cause sunburn, premature aging, and skin cancer. Therefore, it is important to know how to protect your skin from the sun and how to take care of it after sun exposure.
How to Protect Your Skin from the Sun
The best way to protect your skin from the sun is to avoid excessive sun exposure, especially between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., when the sun's rays are the strongest. However, if you have to go outside during these hours, you should follow these tips:
- Wear sunscreen with at least SPF 30 and broad-spectrum protection, which can block both UVA and UVB rays. UVA rays can penetrate deeper into the skin and cause wrinkles, sagging, and dark spots. UVB rays can damage the surface of the skin and cause sunburn and skin cancer. You should apply sunscreen 15 to 30 minutes before going outside and reapply every two hours or after sweating or swimming.
- Wear protective clothing, such as long-sleeved shirts, pants, hats, and sunglasses. You can also look for clothes with UPF (ultraviolet protection factor), which can indicate how much UV radiation can pass through the fabric. The higher the UPF, the better the protection. For example, a shirt with UPF 50 can block 98% of UV rays.
- Seek shade whenever possible, such as under trees, umbrellas, or awnings. However, keep in mind that shade does not provide complete protection, as UV rays can still reflect from the ground, water, or sand. Therefore, you should still wear sunscreen and clothing even if you are in the shade.
- Avoid artificial tanning, such as tanning beds, lamps, or booths. These devices can emit UV rays that are even more intense than the sun and can increase your risk of skin cancer and aging. If you want to have a tan, you can opt for safer alternatives, such as self-tanning products or spray tans.
How to Take Care of Your Skin After Sun Exposure
Even if you follow the above tips, you may still experience some degree of sun damage after being outside. This is because the sun can affect your skin in various ways, such as:
- Dehydrating your skin, which can make it dry, flaky, and tight. This can also impair your skin's barrier function, which can make it more vulnerable to infections and irritants.
- Inflaming your skin, which can cause redness, swelling, pain, and itching. This can also trigger the production of free radicals, which are unstable molecules that can damage your skin cells and DNA.
- Pigmenting your skin, which can cause tanning, freckles, or dark spots. This is a result of your skin producing more melanin, which is a pigment that can protect your skin from further sun damage. However, too much melanin can also cause uneven skin tone and hyperpigmentation.
- Aging your skin, which can cause wrinkles, sagging, and loss of elasticity. This is a result of your skin breaking down collagen and elastin, which are the proteins that give your skin its structure and firmness.
To minimize these effects and help your skin recover after sun exposure, you should follow these tips:
- Wash your skin gently with a mild cleanser and lukewarm water. This can help remove any dirt, sweat, or sunscreen residue from your skin and prevent clogged pores and breakouts. Avoid using harsh soaps, scrubs, or hot water, as they can irritate your skin and strip away its natural oils.
- Moisturize your skin generously with a hydrating lotion or cream. This can help replenish the moisture that your skin lost from the sun and restore its barrier function. Look for moisturizers that contain soothing and healing ingredients, such as aloe vera, chamomile, oatmeal, or green tea. Avoid moisturizers that contain alcohol, fragrance, or retinoids, as they can dry out or sensitize your skin.
- Cool your skin with a cold compress, ice pack, or damp cloth. This can help reduce the inflammation, pain, and itching that your skin may experience after sun exposure. You can also use products that contain cooling and anti-inflammatory ingredients, such as menthol, cucumber, or calamine. Avoid applying ice directly to your skin, as it can cause frostbite or damage your blood vessels.
- Treat your skin with products that can repair the sun damage and prevent further harm. For example, you can use products that contain antioxidants, such as vitamin C, vitamin E, or niacinamide, which can neutralize the free radicals and brighten your skin tone. You can also use products that contain ingredients that can stimulate collagen and elastin production, such as peptides, growth factors, or retinol. However, be careful with using products that can make your skin more sensitive to the sun, such as alpha hydroxy acids, beta hydroxy acids, or benzoyl peroxide. You should use them at night and always wear sunscreen during the day.
- Hydrate your body internally by drinking plenty of water and fluids. This can help replenish the water that your body lost from sweating and prevent dehydration, which can affect your skin and overall health. You can also eat foods that are rich in water, such as fruits, vegetables, soups, or smoothies. Avoid drinking alcohol, caffeine, or sugary drinks, as they can dehydrate your body and worsen your skin condition.
Conclusion
Sun exposure can have both positive and negative effects on your skin, depending on how much and how often you expose yourself to it. To protect your skin from the sun and take care of it after sun exposure, you should follow the tips mentioned above and consult your dermatologist if you have any concerns or questions. By doing so, you can enjoy the benefits of the sun while minimizing its risks and keeping your skin healthy and beautiful.

How to take care of your skin
Taking care of your skin involves a combination of good habits and consistent routines. Here are some tips on how to take care of your skin:
Keep your skin clean: Cleanse your face twice a day using a gentle cleanser that is suitable for your skin type. This will help to remove dirt, oil, and other impurities that can clog your pores.
Moisturize your skin: Moisturize your skin daily to keep it hydrated and to prevent it from becoming dry and flaky. Choose a moisturizer that is appropriate for your skin type.
Protect your skin from the sun: Use a sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 every day, even when it is cloudy outside. This will help to prevent sun damage, which can lead to premature aging and skin cancer.
Eat a healthy diet: Eating a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains can help to nourish your skin from the inside out.
Get enough sleep: Aim to get 7-9 hours of sleep each night. Lack of sleep can lead to dark circles, dull skin, and premature aging.
Don't smoke: Smoking can damage your skin, causing it to become dry, dull, and wrinkled.
Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated and healthy.
Avoid harsh skincare products: Avoid using harsh products that can irritate your skin, such as scrubs, astringents, and alcohol-based products.
By following these tips and maintaining a consistent skincare routine, you can help to keep your skin healthy, radiant, and looking its best.

Natural Hair Care – A Comprehensive Guide
Natural haircare routines are essential to keeping locks looking their best and healthy. Finding a style that works for you and sticking to it are the keys to successful locks care.
Afro-textured hair presents unique challenges when it comes to styling and maintenance. Many women turn to natural hair regimens to address these concerns.
Understanding Your Hair Type
Before embarking on your natural hair journey, you must understand what type of texture your hair possesses. Doing this will enable you to choose an appropriate style and care for it appropriately.
Although many people use various products on their hair, reducing this use will help promote healthier growth. Selecting natural options tailored to your hair texture will simplify styling.
If your straight hair tends to get oily quickly, using dry shampoo might help control the excess production of oils. Or you could try applying a light serum that distributes oils evenly across your scalp.
If you have wavy or curly locks, lightweight mousse or curl-defining cream is an excellent way to style them. Remember not to add too much product, as too much can weigh down and lead to frizz. To keep strands looking smooth and manageable, avoid combing too often and opt for protective styles like braids or weaves; styling gel can also add definition.
The Importance of a Balanced Diet for Hair Health
Beginning the journey to healthier hair starts with eating well. According to trichologist Guy Parsons, healthy hair can be defined as “hair that grows from each follicle in an orderly fashion and aligns well with an intact scalp.”
He suggests including high-protein foods into your diet, such as sardines (which have low saturated fat content), mackerel, and salmon, as they contain omega-3 fatty acids, protein, and vitamin B2 B3 D which all play an integral part in keeping hair strands healthy.
Avoid over-washing, as this can strip natural oils from your hair, leaving strands looking dry. Parsons recommends a natural shampoo free from sulfates and alcohol for best results.
Natural hair care ingredients, like aloe vera, tea tree oil, and apple cider vinegar, can help balance your scalp’s pH level, reduce inflammation, and kill any dandruff-causing fungus that might otherwise exist on your strands. They may even add shine. Lastly, drink plenty of water throughout the day to hydrate strands properly and prevent breakage or split ends; adding leave-in conditioner or hydrating spray into your routine can further assist this goal.
Natural Ingredients for Hair Care
As you establish a hair care routine, search for natural ingredients that nourish and protect your strands. Renewable botanical oils like shea butter, jojoba oil, and argan oil help keep your scalp’s natural oils intact while shielding the ends of strands from damage. Utilizing such natural remedies reduces your need for harsh chemicals that could otherwise dry out and flake out your locks, causing itchy follicles or flaky scalps.
Avoid products containing sulfates as these substances have been known to irritate skin and cause genetic mutation. If possible, seek natural products labeled “sulfate-free.”
Tea tree oil is another fantastic ingredient to look out for when selecting shampoo and conditioner products, as it stimulates hair follicles to promote growth while profoundly nourishing hair and scalp. Aloe vera also plays an integral role in maintaining healthy scalp conditions. At the same time, its low molecular weight allows it to penetrate hair strands to leave soft, smooth locks with healthy-looking locks.
DIY Natural Hair Masks
There are a few natural hair products you can incorporate into your routine to protect it from damage, such as:
NaturAll’s deep conditioning treatment for dry, thirsty tresses is perfect for parched locks. It contains raw avocado – known for its hydrating properties – and organic tea tree oil to prevent infections and deep conditioning agents that will keep your locks hydrated all day.
BeautyKLove’s shampoo scrub may provide an easy remedy for oily scalp. This DIY recipe features baking soda to remove build-up. At the same time, apple cider vinegar closes the cuticle and prevents frizz by closing hair cuticles – leaving your locks smoother and less susceptible to frizz than before!
This natural hair mask is an excellent solution for anyone with damaged locks, thanks to the combination of avocado (known for its nourishing properties), coconut oil, and essential oils such as thyme for stimulating growth, rosemary for decreasing protein loss, and lavender to soothe your scalp. Furthermore, Boucleme contributes back to its local community by sourcing its ingredients from there.
How to Protect Your Hair from Damage
Establishing an effective natural hair routine is critical to keeping your locks healthy. Regular deep conditioning treatments help hydrate dry, brittle strands and replenish their essential natural oils that may have been stripped from them during shampooing.
Ensure not to overwash your strands, which may lead to product buildup. Instead, wash once or twice weekly using lukewarm water for best results.
Limit heat exposure, as overexposure can lead to brittleness in your hair using protective styles like braids, bantu knots, puffs, or wash-and-go styles.
No matter the situation, natural products offer solutions. From shampoo that helps combat dandruff to conditioner that will bring moisture back into your strands and even hair masks that repair damage – there is something suitable for everyone in your search for natural beauty solutions! By sticking to your routine, you can achieve your best look ever while maintaining health – good luck and congratulations on achieving an authentic natural style!
Tips for Natural Hair Styling
Two-strand twists are one of the most sought-after natural hairstyles, as they’re straightforward and leave your locks looking lush and healthy.
There are numerous approaches to accomplish this look, but here are a few suggestions:
Tip 1: Do not overwash your hair; this can strip it of its natural oils and lead to product build-up. Instead, try washing with lukewarm water once weekly for best results.
When washing your hair, always opt for a high-quality shampoo free from sulfates, mineral oil, and parabens as these ingredients can harm the scalp and hair follicles. A natural hair shampoo will hydrate and protect locks while clearing away dirt or oils that build up from daily activities – this will also help to ensure healthier locks! To further ensure healthy locks, it is also essential to utilize deep conditioner after each wash session while limiting heat exposure, as these will all help foster good hair habits.
Maintaining Hair Health: Do’s and Don’ts
As someone new to natural haircare, it may take time to master proper care of your strands. From overwashing to overusing products, common errors could harm the condition of your natural curls.
As always, we’re here to help you avoid these errors and foster vibrant, beautiful locks with healthy locks that look vibrant. From switching up shampoos and scheduling regular haircuts, here are a few tips for maintaining natural beauty.
Be sure to use a wide-tooth comb when detangling, and keep strands hydrated with oil, spritzes, and DIY packs. Furthermore, try to stick to a routine of trimming ends at least every eight weeks, keeping strands strong and preventing split ends from becoming knotted up. Furthermore, avoid products containing sulfates and phosphates, which can strip your scalp of its natural oils and lead to dry, itchy locks; instead, opt for organic products with natural ingredients.

Best Skin Care Products to Use When Having Eczema
With summer bringing in temperatures as high as 100 degrees, my eczema can't help but get irritated. Since I got eczema recently, it has been hard to find good products to use to avoid such irritation in the heat and for everyday wear. In this post I will be talking about non prescribed products that have helped my eczema clear up!
1.) Kiehls Ultra Facial Cream with Squalane ($45.00)

Before I start talking about the many benefits about this cream, I would like to point out the symbol at the bottom left. This is a MAJOR thing to look out for when shopping for eczema-prone skin. This symbol helps consumers know that it is safe to use on eczema. I always make sure to check boxes before buying facial products to make sure none of the ingredients would irritate my eczema.
This was the first product I used when I got eczema and was not prescribed any type of cream for it. Although it says it is a facial cream, it is also safe to use it on other places such as arms or legs. The reason why this is a great cream to use for eczema is because it contains 10.5% squalane. Squalane contains anti-inflammatory properties and reduces redness [1]. It is also a lightweight cream that does not clog your pores, which is good when it is meant to be applied overnight. Overall since it is a rehydrating mask, it takes away the flakiness of the skin and leaves it smoother by the next morning. This cream is also paraben-free and fragrance-free which is the number one thing to look at when buying skin creams.
2. Dove Deep Moisture Body Wash ($8.99)

Before, I would always pick out body washes that had the best scents. However, when I got eczema, I started to realize that the fragrance was making my eczema even more inflammated and dry. Fragrance is one of the worst things you can use on eczema-prone skin. That is why switching body washes is a major step to improving eczema! My personal favorite is the Dove Deep Moisture Body wash since it is fragrance free and sulfate free which hydrates the skin with each wash and avoids any dryness. It is also the #1 dermatologist recommended body wash brand [2].
3.) Cerave Healing Ointment ($19.99)

The image above shows how the Cerave Healing Ointment has improved someone's eczema under their eyes.
Since I struggle with eczema on the corners of my eyes, this ointment has been a life-saver. I saw improvements of my eczema overnight! The reason why this ointment works wonders is because it has ceramides that renew the skin's barrier and hyaluronic acid for hydration. I use this ointment around my eyes and sometimes lips overnight and wake up with hydrated skin.
I would like to also mention that Cerave is an overall great brand for someone who has eczema. Each product is developed with dermatologists, fragrance-free, and is gentle on the skin. I would like to mention their Foaming Facial Cleanser since I use it every night and leaves my skin clean and hydrated. This brand is perfect when trying to find products to relieve eczema.
4.) Aquaphor Lip Repair ($4.29)
Tumblr media
This is probably my most frequently used thing I use compared to everything on this list. Since eczema has targeted my lips the most, I always need something hydrating to relieve the painful cracks, which Aquaphor Lip Repair always does. I tried to use the regular Aquaphor Healing Ointment on my lips and Vaseline, but it did not compare to the results I had with the Lip Repair. I do not recommend the Aquaphor Healing Ointment when outside because it does not contain any SPF compared to the Lip Repair. This can be damaging to someone who has eczema on the lips since hot weather is already damaging enough.
These are my top 4 products I swear by coming from someone who has eczema. I have noticed a great difference from using these products consistently. I hope this post is helpful to people who got eczema recently and are looking for products to improve any dryness, inflammation, or redness.
