a couple d&d items from me to you ~~
Carapace of The Sodden Earth
A shield made of iron, rested from the grip of a bog, when cleaned off the front is revealed to be engraved with designs of a beautiful marsh. When the bearer of this shield successfully block an attack, they can use their reaction toforce the attacker to make a DC 14 Constitution Saving throw or be blasted [ 5 x Bearer’s Con. Mod (min 1) ].
Once a blessing bestowed upon a young knight by a great spirit of the land, after his death it willed itself to a bog to be chanced upon one day by a new brave soul in honor of that friendship long ago.
Warlock’s Ring of Portable Hot-Tub
A simple bronze band inlaid with a piece of amethyst, when removed from the pinky finger it will expand into a simple yet elegant bronze hot-tub and slowly begin to fill with warm water. Amethyst nobs can be turned to adjust water temperature, bubble level, or even clean the water. If taken off the pinky and placed in the dirt the hot tub will be below ground.
To be able to wield the ring you must first sign a contract with the hot-tub, which will appear on first summoning. Once signed and terms are agreed, the hot-tub may then be used at will. To return the hot-tub to ring form, simply exit and pat the side twice while thanking it. Any damage to the hot-tub baring the total destruction of the ring itself will be repaired upon next use. However, if the hot-tub feels it prudent it will impose maintenance fee, payable to the small spirit that lives behind a small door at the top of the tub. This spirit is responsible for hot-tub maintenance and appears as a small baby octopus wearing a white cloth headband.
I created this ring to accommodate myself on farther journeys to places that might not have proper tubbage. You’d be surprised how often it doubles as a spot for diplomatic meetings and business deals.
The hot-tub refuses to be deployed in situations as a gimmick-exploit or in combat, there’s a time and a place for everything!

Our DM gave us a shared bag of holding.
It's called the "Bag of Sharing" and we each got a fanny pack type bag that meets the big one that one of us carries. So all of our items and supplies can get shared.
Today, one of our party members stored a martini in her bag, and another party member dipped his hand in it.

Magic Item
Sandwich of Chaotic Layers
Description: A sandwich made of suspicious ingredients and a curious amount of cheese, when eaten it gives random effects to character. If it is kept in the inventory long enough it might attract mice and other rodents, if it is kept for even longer at every rest of the character with the Sandwich of Chaotic Layers in their inventory loses 2d12 of HP while those near a radius of 10 ft lose 2d6 of HP after the rest, due to the radiations that the Sandwich of Chaotic Layers emits.
Functionality: Use a bonus action to eat the sandwich, a normal action if you’re size is smaller than Medium, then roll d for the effects.
Results:
You get teleported inside a radius of 5-20 ft not occupied by another creature, you can decide exactly where
The scent of warm bread surrounds the player and up to 5 allies, they heal 2d10 HP and gain 20 Temporary hit points
You get two charges of a garlic scented breath attack that causes confusion and disadvantage to all roles against you and saving throws to all your enemies in a 15 ft cone, but also repel your allies to at least 5 ft from you
A bread wall circles around your enemy and it blocks their vision and movement. To escape your enemy has to deal at least 10 x S of damage, where S is the size of the enemy (1 is Tiny, Medium is 3, Gargantuan 6…), to make a hole big enough to escape
From the mouth of the player comes out a steam of water that deals 4d6 of water damage to those in a line of 20ft in front of the player, with a roll of Athletics higher than 12 the player can move while spitting water to aim to other enemies, this however will deal 2d6 to all enemies hurt instead of 4d6.
A cheese armour surrounds the player, giving them +2 AC but also giving them a -10ft of movement speed
The player’s movement speed doubles but it may randomly oink even after the effect wears off, until they take a rest
Wheel of cheese. For 17 turns. Aka 289 seconds. Aka 4 minutes and 49 seconds. Aka Wheel of cheese for five minutes.
3d4 mice gets teleported in a 5 ft radius from you, you can control them and give them order for 6 turns, after that they’ll become normal mice
A cloud of lint surrounds an enemy, they’ll suffer 2d6 more fire damage if attacked with a fire spell or fire related attacks, the same goes with 1d12 of lightning damage. Until the enemy is surrounded by the lint cloud it gets disadvantage on rolls to hit. The cloud disappear once a fire or lightning attack successfully damage the enemy
A rideable Large cushion of magical focaccia appears in front of the players. The cushion can fly and has 350 HP but no attacks. After receiving 300 HP, reaching a total of 100 ft of movement or after 7 turns the flying focaccia gently lands and then disappear.
3d8 of radiant damage to all creatures in a radius of 35ft from the player (including) the party gets a -10 to the total damage if they have spent at least 2 rests with the Sandwich of Chaos Layers in the inventory of someone.

New magic item just dropped (fully formed into my brain):
The Seven Yeet Boots
Not totally unlike the Seven *League* Boots, these magical feet enfolders will propel you great distances … by launching you bodily through the air.
They can still be very helpful!
Need to get somewhere quickly and your own structural integrity is not a concern? Yeet.
Want the thrill of a rollercoaster with none of the safety features? YEET!
Got someone you absolutely got to fudge up and don't care if takes you with them? YEEEEEET.
Invented by a sorcerer hopped up on energy drinks who looked at the delicate and complex art of enchantment and said: I bet you I can do that.
In D&D terms, these boots would seven charges. During your movement, you can activate the boots and spend a charge to throw yourself 20ft in the direction you're moving.
You can make a Dex Save (dc 16) to avoid the 1d6 damage/10ft moved in this way.
If you would hit a solid object, a successful save only reduces damage by half.
If you would hit a creature, you both take the damage.
And, yes, you can spend more than one charge in a single yeet.

Horny Potion
Potion, rare
A shimmering potion with dull colours. Smells like mint and is mostly tasteless, though some vague notes of grass and lemon can be found.
Effects: turns the drinker into a random horned animal for 1d4 hours. This effect takes 10 minutes to kick in. Roll a d20 on the horny table to see which animal the drinker turns into. Drinking multiple potions at once allows the effect to be prolonged with 1d4 hours for every potion drunk. Drinking a horny potion while already under the effect of a horny potion resets the effect: 10 minutes after the second potion is drunk, the drinker will once again turn into a random horned animal for 1d4 hours.

Cursed Item Idea
Hat of Gold (Cursed)
Desc- yes Sans, the name is a pun on “Heart of Gold” I’m a comedy genius what did you expect? 💅🏻 (I’m cringe)
Description: A hat that every time it is worn for the first time in a day by someone materialise 15 gp in their hands or in their vicinity. From that moment they will be cursed to talk in a strange way by pronouncing the words much longer than needed, marking the accents way more than correct and by also rising their pitch just a bit enough to sound different but not enough to sound like a mouse.
Functionality: Along with the 15 gp, it gives -3 Charisma to anyone who wears the hat, until the curse is lifted after 24 hours from when it was worn for the first time in the day.

D&D Cursed Items
There really aren’t enough of these which is a pity cause they can be a fun mechanic and introduce cool and unique treasures. Also shenanigans. So, with that in mind here are some curses that are perhaps a bit more mild, strange or straight up entertaining. Some of them even give extra benefits (for the right kind of person):
Gender-bender: A mild curse, male becomes female, gender-fluid becomes intersex and vice versa, etc. This has no other effects and is reversed itself (back to original form) when un-attuned.
Were-wolf: Transforms you into a wolf (or other animal) for a set time with instincts. If you eat a person you are stuck in this form but if you save a person, the beast’s strength stays with you its physical bonuses/senses stack
Prophetic: You gain a powerful doom! You are prophesied to die in a particular manner, location and/or time. This curse can only be removed by Wish, unattuning to the item does no good. You’re doomed!
Bad Luck: Every day you awaken with 1d3 nat 1’s which randomly (i.e. DM’s decision, though they can’t all affect nat 20’s or rolls at critical moments) affects any d20 roll you use through the day. Otherwise as normal nat 1’s.
Toad Speech: When you speak 1d4, toads, lizards, newts or another small, harmless but typically considered loathesome creature jumps out of your mouth. You have disadvantage on charisma skill checks unless the person you're talking to likes the animal, then you have advantage.
Sleeping Beauty: You know this drill. True love’s kiss will do it, which can be incredibly easy or horrendously hard. This curse only affects a person once per attunement. Once broken, the person attuned is immune to sleep effects
Beast: You are cursed and transform into a humanoid beast (enlarged person and traits of 1d4 random animals, your charisma drops by 2 points). Can be cured by finding true love before the last petal of a flower falls off, otherwise you’re stuck!

Magic Item Idea
Description: A magic scroll that can store a spell of the owner’s choice (or can be changed once per king rest) that buffs the spell stored but debuffs all the similar ones that the owner casts (not counting those casted using items).
Functionality: Once per long rest the player chooses a spell to store in the scroll or decide if they’ll change the already stored spell or keep it. The spell stored gains a +(3+X) dices that the player can split into:
Damage roll
To hit roll
Other rolls
The X stands for the types of damage that the spell deals/protect/affects in any way. The addition of the 3+X dices can be done only after having rolled that, example:
Matt rolls to hit (4) so spends one of the (3+1) dices but fail again. Nothing happens anymore.
Liz rolls to hit (22) but still fails so she spends two of her (3+2) dices going up to 36, that hits. She then rolls for damage, doing a total of 25 fire damage and 15 necrotic damage. But since she has still 3 dices and REALLY wants the monster dead, she uses her 3 dices again, more on the fire damage because those are d8 while the necrotic uses d12, rolling 8 and 5 on the additional fire damage and 11 on the necrotic damage killing the beast.
In the next turn (or encounter) the player who has the scroll still has the maximum (3+X) dices, until the spell slots run out, the scroll will work.
BUT
If the stored spell deals fire damage, all the other fire damage-dealing spells (not magic items) will receive disadvantage in the damage rolls
This happens to all the types of damage that the stored spell deals.
That means that Matt’s psychic spell, even if it didn’t landed, and Liz fire/necrotic spell are the only ones that deal a noticeable amount of those types of damage.
If the spell doesn’t deal any damage nor affects any type of damage in particular the spell will be rejected by the scroll.
If the spell heals, it can be used. Use +(1+Z) where Z is the number of targets (you count too, even if it’s only a self spell, so the minimum is +2). But gives disadvantage to all the other healing spells.
Inspiration: the meme above (this is an old draft, I didn’t know yet that links were easier and I’ve already wrote too much to change it) thanks @catchymemes ❤️

3e: Magical Rings
Rings. Simple circles of metal, worn on the fingers or toes or sometimes in the ears, these delicate pieces of human artistry are some of the earliest examples of creative expression we know can last beyond our lives, and therefore, serve as some of the most iconic examples of the way we use our signifiers to craft narratives of our lives. The promise ring, the engagement ring, the wedding ring, which are of course, all the same thing but companies want us to gild that lily forever, rings serve as a circle present in so many stories to symbolise a bonding, a binding, an eternity that we commit to in our lives and that we can only hold up as long as we continue to believe in that which the ring symbolises. Every ring can be called a ring of power, because it is the belief in stories we imbue in the ring that serves to give it that power.
And as any good item with significance, Dungeons & Dragons decided to start jamming a mechanical system onto them.
This is by no means a new thing for 3rd edition D&D; since earliest versions of the game, I’m sure there were people making ‘magical rings’ important on day dot. This is a game for hacks who want to remind you of the cool fantasy books we’ve read and back when the game was brand new, there really were only so many fantasy books that could be considered cool. Unbelievably, people considered Lord of The Rings one of them, yeah, I know, and apparently, they enjoyed those books and implemented their ideas into their own work. Wild, I know. Point is, it wouldn’t surprise me if D&D’s vision of magical rings predate D&D. What 3rd edition brought, in my experience reading the rulebooks, is a sense of acceleration and omnipresence.
The rules around rings in 3rd edition onwards is that you can wear two rings, and those rings will give you some magical benefit or advantage based on what they’re supposed to do. This is where stacking bonuses tend to rear their head for newer players. After all if you have a Ring of Protection that improves your armour by +1, and you have ten fingers, and those rings are cheap, why not buy a few of them, wear them on different fingers and get a lot better armour? The game saw you coming and instead, the rules limit these bonuses by type and also limits you to one ring per hand.
My time with 2e, towards the end, represent the loot cavalcade that was Baldur’s Gate 2, in which the world is lousy with magical gear which is designed to make it possible to approach a reasonably open world of quests. In this case, you wind up with enough magical rings you just start selling them in sacks, to the point where it can honestly not be worth picking them up in the early game because who’s gunna carry that malarkey? I do not want to pretend that 2ed lacked for this situation. Instead I want to describe the way that 3rd edition brought the idea of Unspecial Rings to everywhere. Almost every resource in the game that players got access to would bring new magical items, new feats, new character options to the board, and with that, you’d see some new rings.
When creating new magical items, the game provided a set of rules that described things that magical items could do, and the general family of effects they could have. Weapons, you might not be surprised, were good at making you better at attacking, and did special things when they hit things. Armour increased your defensive stats and made you better at surviving or enduring things. This could have some interesting side effects, some things that were judged on vibes — like, a trident that meant you could breathe underwater while you had it was probably okay, but it was definitely less okay than a suit of armour that gave you a swim speed and also meant you could breathe underwater. These were all put together by a complicatedly designed set of formulas that tried to price effects based on spells and then on the duration or effect of those spells.
What this meant is that knowing the best spells meant you knew the best ways to break these rules in weird outlier ways. An example that came up commonly was the ‘ring of true strike’ design a lot of players would conceive of, where you would make a ring that cast the spell true strike on use (ie, whenever you attacked). The formula for this implied that as a 1st level spell, cast as a 1st level wizard, this should cost 1x1x2000 gp. Since true strike granted you a +20 to hit on the next attack you meant, this item would obviously trivialising hitting things and that’s pretty nuts.
(Please ignore that a wand of true strike was a level 1 item for 750 gp that would give you this effect for 50 attacks, but only if you were a wizard or a character with the appropriate spell on your list.)
Anyway, the math kicked in at this point and looked for the most expensive way to price the effect. This ‘ring of true strike’ was granting a +20 to hit, and that was priced differently to the 1st level spell that gave it to you, meaning that instead of 2,000 gp, it cost you 20x60x2,000 gp, or 2.4 million gp, which is, uh, a lot more than 2,000. This is because to craft a tohit bonus like that, you needed to be 3 times the level of the bonus, meaning that you needed to find a level 60 wizard who had the time to waste on your nonsense.
Point is that things were examined in terms of their effect and their style. Armour did things that weapons didn’t do. Some weapons could improve your armour class but they needed a good flavour for it — like deflecting something, or blocking hits in melee. Staffs could store spells, wands could store spells but wear out, scrolls could store spells but only once, amulets could protect you in some way like improving a saving throw… and rings…
Rings could do anything.
Where most of the magic items have rules in them that make them hard to use in most situations, or gave them specific types of things they were best at replicating, rings could do anything. Permanent spell effects, on-use spell effects, permanent bonuses, a ring could be a real everythingamajig.
This was such a problem because it meant that even low level rings would wind up being useful, handy even to have around. A ring of sustenance turned off your need for food, for good, so you should probably have one of those for long distance travel. It’s real cheap, after all, and all it takes to swap it off is to swap a ring on a finger. A ring of feather falling could be jammed on a finger while you fell if you were falling far enough. And a ring of jumping could be handy for mobility, and none of these things were particularly expensive (by the standards of an adventurer) by the middle of the game.
The really cracked thing though?
These rings were so good and so worth keeping around in a big keyring for handy applications most of the time because they let non-wizards access all the handy utility stuff wizards had all the time from day 1. When a category of magical item is desireable because it lets you replicate something that the wizard can already do for a fraction of the cost – oh hey, there’s that wands conversation all over again! – you may have a problem class in your game.
Check it out on PRESS.exe to see it with images and links!

How to train your Dragon x tales of Arcadia. P1
Ok, so I’ve wanted to make this post for such a long time but it’s finally here.
My two favourite franchises have always been httyd and Trollhunters, and the fact that it is cannon that these two universes are connected, are not talked enough about.
So, I’m going to talk about it. Some head cannons I’ve got, and why it is cannon in the first place.
-
So, why do I think it’s possible these two worlds are connected?
First off, both franchises are owned, and made by the same company Dreamworks, so the possibility of the two worlds alining can happen.
Second, the world both are based in is very grounded to our own, just in seperate time periods.
And third, BOTH franchises reference each other closer then any other Dreamworks production has done. But also in a way that doesn’t break the idea itself.
So let’s start at the beginning shall we.
Httyd 1- 2010
Befor the world of Trollhunters was even brought to light, the first how to train your dragon film gives us hints that other magical creatures besides dragons, exist in there world. But not just any creatures as hiccup explains.
“Vikings say that a hideous name will scare off gnomes and trolls.”
Gnomes and trolls! where have I seen those two creatures lining up in the same room?… oh yea.
Tumblr media
Furthermore, it’s not the end of it, because Gober later explains.
“Trolls exist! they steel your socks, but only the left ones, ah what’s with that?”
Just to clear up Gober only has a left foot so of course it’s just the leaft ones, but what have we also seen trolls do in Trollhunters on multiple occasions.
Tumblr media
And if that doesn’t convince you, let’s move on to Trollhunters, shall we.
Trollhunters season 1, ep 7 ‘To catch a changeling’
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After Jim and Toby meet up with Blinky, Aaarrrgghh and Vendel about there discovery of Killahead bridge. They pull out a tarp they think is hiding said bridge, only to reveal a Viking long boat in its place. But not just any model, the same ones used in httyd. This image being of Johanna’s trading ship from RTTE.
Now it could just be a model reuse, just like how Pixar puts in Easter eggs in each of there movies and there not connected. Or aren’t they? because the long boat isn’t the only thing.
On multiple occasions, team trollhunter uncover items like Viking helmets, jugs and various other items from the other franchise, but one of the greatest examples, is in season 2 ep 8 ‘Just add water.’
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Where you can see Blinky, Aaarrrgghh and Draal playing a trolls version of D&D ( which I love by the way) using a Maces and Talons board!!
Now for any httyd fans who haven’t watched the shows, Maces and Talons is a strategy game played in Race to the edge (on Netflix) which plays a significant roll in establishing one of the villains motives and cunning.
And it’s used in Trollhunters!
Now you might think, how did they even come to aquire it, why isn’t it in a museum or back with nature. Trolls live for centuries, no doubt a troll during the time period undercover it and somehow bought it to Dwosa and later Trollmarket to be used for other means.
And if that doesn’t convince you, I’ve got more.
In wizards tales of Arcadia, during the dungeon break, there are two, animated Night terrors in one of the cells in Camelot. I’m not joking it’s a blink and you will miss it, but they are there.
Tumblr media
Not only are this Viking culture cannon, but the very dragons themselves!
And now for my final peice of evidence, the crown jewel itself, these two images.
Tumblr media
A source of light and sustenance- that’s what a heartstone is, and it is the same in both scenarios.
Trollhunter and HTTYD are of the same cannon universe.
And I LOVE THAT!!!!
That opens up so much possibility for storytelling it is blowing my mind!!
Now, I am not forgetting the picture of Toothless on Jim’s desktop laptop in episode one, but I have an explanation for that one too.
Tumblr media
What if both the httyd films and characters are cannon to that universe, Hear me out.
In our world, the world and characters are crafted, inspired by the book series we all know and love. So what if instead of books in the TOA world, it’s history.
What if toothless is a well known historical dragon in history, depicted in tapestries, books and architecture that Hiccup and the vikings of Berk left behind that has been discovered by archaeologists of the 21st century. Which have made for interesting story’s to then be adapted into the films. But the films are slightly different from the real life events, which in this case would be the franchise we know. But toothless very much staying the same. Which is realy cool to think about.
( I am not counting the nine realms logic, that was made after both franchises existing, that is not cannon and I will never accept it to be.)

Magic Object Idea
Reassembled Painting
Description: What seem to be the painting of a famous artist, but with something wrong. The original was a different painting of another famous artist that was then magically cut in small squares and glued precisely back on to look as the other work. The name of the original is on the back of the frame. It yearns to return its original state.
With an investigation roll of 13 or lower the character doesn’t notice anything, 14 to 17 the character notice the colours are slightly different and in some places wrong, 18 or higher and the character notices the cuts and realise what’s been done to the painting as they read the original painting’s name.
Functionality: once a person stands in a 30ft radius of the painting for a long period of time, the sound of scissor will be overheard repeatedly in the air, this sets the start of the “attack” of the painting. Depending on for how long the character is in sight of the painting, it will try to get their attention and to make them suffer its own curse by:
• Swapping colours of their features, for example making their hair the colour of their eyes and viceversa, or making their skin the colour of their armour and viceversa.
• Swapping two people’s features, in case there are at least two creatures in sight, for example swapping the hair, armour or voices of two characters.
Everything is restored after the character moves 40 feet away from the painting.
To restore the painting the players must either break its curse with magic or restoring it manually in two hours of in-game time where the effects are minimal as the painting returns to its original state. (Make it so there is a way for a character with no art knowledge to know how the original looks like, by either putting the painting somewhere where they can be helped by a professional or maybe by making them find earlier a book of paintings of famous artists)
Once the painting is restored, depending on the character that saved it’s class, it changes form:
Artificer: the painting fuses with their tools giving them a beautiful coat of color, +1 to any checks made using them.
Barbarian: the painting fuses with the barbarian to make tattoos of beautiful art all over their body, +1 to Cha checks
Bard: the painting fuses with the Bard’s instruments, +1 to any attack made using them (magic and not, but only attacks that would damage a creature or more)
Cleric: the painting fuses with their shield, turning it into a fine piece of art dedicated to their god or deity, +1 AC
Druid: the painting fuses with the staff of the Druid, or changes in a similar way their Druidic focus, to make it look like a beautiful representation of blooming nature
Fighter: the painting fuses with the boots of the fighter turning them into a beautiful peace of art, +5ft on all speeds (that are not set to 0)
Monk: The painting fuses with the knuckles of the Monk, marking them with beautiful tiny tattoos, +1 max ki point
Paladin: The painting fuses with the paladin’s blade, turning into to a shining piece of art with its hilt beautiful yet still practical. +1d4 damage dealt using the sword
Ranger: The painting fuses with their bow or ranged weapon, marking with drawings of the hunt, +1 to all Wis checks
Rouge: the painting fuses with the daggers of the rogue, turning them into a deep black colour when they hide but a beautiful piece of art when they don’t, +1d4 to sneak attacks damage
Sorcerer: the painting fuses with the body of the sorcerer as a beautiful tattoo forms on their chest, gain an additional metamagic option
Warlock: the painting fuses not only with the character but with the pact itself that they made with the patron, making your Eldritch Blast look like a beautiful piece of art as it blasts your enemies, +1d6 damage dealt using Eldritch Blast (for Hexblade, it fuses with the weapon and deals +1d4 damage)
Wizard: the painting fuses with the spell book of the wizard, making its cover much more beautiful and depicting the spells inside with drawings too, +1 to the number of recovered spell slots AFTER halving the Wizard level (a 4th level wizard will be able to recover 3 spell slots instead of 2)
Inspiration: the video above, the idea of a painting cut to pieces to form another came to me listening to the story of a Black actress being forced to learn how to act as a White actress.

What sort of "nerd" stuff do you hc the sp guys being into? (Like DND, Star Trek, jrpgs)
So I wanted to wait until I was off work for this one because, like, I'm about to go off!
Stan 'Dungeon Dork' Marsh:
Look you know. I know it. God knows it. He's a nerd pretending to be an 'all American boy next door.'
> Miniature painting king!
> Him and Nichole both are THE people to go to if you ever wanna have something painted.
> I also think he's the best at Homebrewing things. Monsters, Feats, Magical Items, even Classes!
> His favorite Class is Ranger -> subclass Revised Beast Master!
> And he doesn't just play D&D! I think that starts as a gateway drug for him
> We already see he's into Warhammer 40k which have amazing ttrpg books btw
> For the superhero lover in him, definitely Wild Talents!
> In my opinion anything Stan can mentally break down, lay out, and put back together makes him happy - so finding and building characters and worlds scratches that itch for him!
> Casual Pokémon player, only gets competitive with Kyle! Will get defensive over his favorite Pokémon.
-> I think his favorite would be Rockruff or Lucario (especially after watching the movie)
-> They watch the movie and Stan points to the tv when Sir Aaron comes on and is like "That me." Cosplays him
> Which leads to my next thing. Loves cosplay. Cannot craft costumes. Ends up paying out of pocket for someone or his mom to do it
> Somehow convinces the guys to do group costumes together. I fully believe the Avengers costumes were his idea
> That being said, die hard Marvel fan. Doesn't hate DC, but I just know in my heart that boy doesn't give DC the time of day (I just love that his favorite is Captain America. He just like me fr fr)
> As for video games. I can see him really like fighting games. Casual Smash player (Mains Chrom and Pit.) but if you roll up on him in Tekken. Dude sweeps
> Won't get angry if he loses but will get pissy and sceptical. Like...it had to be luck that you won. No way you beat him
> He's alright at First Person shooters. He enjoys listening to the guys more than the actual game.
> Do I even have to say he plays RPGs? Like Baldurs Gate? Dragon Age? I think any game that's story based and you can make your own character, Stan is playing it. Catch him humming Persona music under his breath and teaching himself how to play all the music
> Game Grumps fan! Is the most chill fan though. Loves watching the Kirby Dream Course
> Had Kyle help him build his computer and stays on top of it for the most part.
> Has Discord Nitro
Kyle 'Here for the ride I swear' Broflovski:
Fucking liar. Dude is as big of a nerd as Stan. He's just quiet about it. I don't think it's shame, just he doesn't put as much energy into it as Stan does. Until Stan is involved. Then he's all over it.
> I think Kyle would be really embarrassed to play D&D at first.
> Hear me out. I know he played TSOT with the other kids. But it's a little different. Running around as kids beating each other with sticks and rocks was something he was probably told to give up.
> like "You're not a little kid anymore Kyle. Don't you think that's a little immature?"
> But after Stan begs him and he gets into the groove of it, he finds he really loves it.
> More importantly, he loves the storytelling aspect. The collaboration that comes with being at a table with other people.
> His first character is a high elf of course. Plays a druid -> subclass Wildfire
> Immediately gets a power trip from how BUSTED Druid is
> I honestly think after too many times of Cartman fudging dice or being a pain in the dick, he takes over being the DM
> Loves it more than being a player. Spends his free time writing up plots. Npcs. Events. Backstories.
> He's the kinda DM where if you peek behind their screen, has his shit together (Google Matt Mercer's DM screen and just...yeah that)
> Kind of a stickler for rules but if it's cool he'll let you get away with it
> Much to Stan's dismay, Kenny is his favorite player.
> Won't admit it often, but he genuinely loves the drama and characters that Cartman brings to the table
> Plays in Stan's other games, but he honestly just keeps going back to D&D. Maaaaaaybe Vampire of the Masquerade.
> I headcanon that Kyle goes through a shift in the middle of getting his law degree and goes into English instead
> After finishing his degree, he publishes books about his friends and their adventure. Both in life and at the table
> He loves, LOVES comics. Both a Marvel and DC fan boy. Don't get him started on Dark Horse. (YAPPER!)
> Also a huge Star Wars fan. When the Mandalorian came out, he hosted a watch party
> Avid movie collector. Not just superheros but like classics.
> Maybe in the future I can see him starting a podcast where he watched and talks about movies. Bringing on a different friend each time.
> Loves to build computers. Man can build you the dream PC and provides you with a little cheat sheet on how to take care of it.
> Tech support if he likes you
> FPS King.
> If you play Halo Swat with him. No, you don't. It's just headshot after headshot
> Is unapologetic about it. He won't get snarky about it unless you start to.
> Absolutely rages in video games. Maybe not enough that he's smashing shit, but he's had to replace the joysticks a few times
> Keeps himself on push to talk for that reason.
> He loves Minecraft if he gets to play with someone else. Really good at mining and combat. Ike got him on it and he watches videos when he's eating dinner. Got YouTube propped up and everything.
> Probably fucked around with Destiny 2 a little bit but fell off it when no one wanted to play with him and randos just kept pissing him off
> Got into Pokémon for Stan and Kenny, ended up latching onto the third generation.
> This one is purely indulgence, but I can see him secretly loving the sims.
-> His favorite would probably be Kyogre. No he doesn't care if Legendaries don't count, fuck you.
> As for Smash because I know they all play not just Stan, he mains Fox and Ganondorf
-> That one you gotta waterboard it outta him.
> Got discord Nitro to match with Stan once and just kinda kept it since.
Kenny 'Hobby Supporter' McCormick:
Kenny is one of those nerds you meet and you're like, "Jesus christ, how is this guy so cool?!"
> Dived headfirst into the D&D shit with the others. He was absolutely ready to play with his friends
> I have said this before, I'll say it again, is actually the role playing star. He's got the range darling
> Every character is different, unique, and fun! He'll come to the table with the most out of pocket ass character and just blows people away
> You're like "there he goes again, a fucking joke character"
> Wrong. You got, got. This character has a beautiful backstory, makes sense in lore, and is a team player
> Kenny is every DMs dream player. He shows up with an idea. Asks questions about your world. Engages with other players and makes them feel comfortable. Does things that his character would do WITHOUT fucking over the party and campaign
> And to top it all off. He can do voices. What a perfect asshole
> Will show up late, though, and if he has something come up, he'll forget and tell the group last minute. Oops
> Oh his favorite class? Bard -> Subclass Glamor. Race doesn't really matter to him, so probably Changeling
> He likes to make props and bring them to the table. Oftentimes, they're little pieces of jewelry or an accessory, hats that sort of thing
> He's usually the one that ends up helping Stan with his cosplay ideas. Stan will come to him with an idea, get three sentences in, and Kenny just shrugs and goes "I'm down."
> The kinda person to bring extra material when they go to cons to help you fix your outfit.
> POV - you're at a con and a piece of your costume just tore. Before you can get upset about it. Kenny McCormick comes gliding across the ground with a small kit on their side. They're wearing the most gorgeous Rosalina costume you've ever seen. They bend down and fix that part of your costume and before you can say anything they boop you with the handcrafted wand.
> Behind him are his friends dressed as Mario, Luigi, and Bowser. You already know who they are. I don't need to assign them.
> My dude is so fucking cool. He loves listening to people talk about their -sonas or ocs. Definitely has a fursona and is so chill about it.
> Kenny loves Monster High and you can pry that headcanon from my cold dead hands
> I'm also a firm believer in punk Kenny! Patch jackets, pits, protests, boycotts, music - the whole nine yards!
-> that's not a nerd headcanon I'm just projecting again sorry
> Back on track, I think Kenny is a DC fan for fucking sure
> You CANNOT look at Mysterion and tell me he's not a die hard Batman fan. But I'm talking Batman the animated series Batman fan!
> Kenny is the kinda fan that will absolutely be chill about it until he reads a comic that gets the character all wrong. Then it's like a switch flips.
> I headcanon Kenny as a little theater kid so anything involving that, he's all over
> The guys will come to his plays and while they might make jabs at him for doing it, they're all very proud of their friend
> He drug Butters along with it and those two are a POWERHOUSE on stage. No matter the roles, they kill it every time
> Also maybe not a nerd thing, but huge in the nerd space, if you ever have questions or struggle with self identity - Kenny is the first to pick up on it. And he's so fucking good at doing it casually, like you can trust him with it all
> Sexuality? Gender identity? Any of it, he'll be there to listen and offer advice if you want it
> Does not fuck around with people dead naming you, catch these Netherborn hands fucko
> I see him as a casual video game player. Loves anything he can just shut his brain off and relax to. Also really loves rhythm games.
-> Dude, I just know in my heart they didn't show Kenny playing Guitar Hero with the guys because he'd smoke 'em
> Unapologetic about the amount of mods he has on the sims 4. How many hours he has in Stardew Valley or Harvest Moon. Its about the progression baby!
> That and he likes to put his friends in fun little outfits in the sims
> Loves Pokémon and I know I just said he likes games he can relax to...not Pokémon. Will break down your entire team and sweeps. WHILE also picking his favorites.
> Doesn't know shit about computers aside from modding his game. Has called Kyle at three in the morning for advice and help
-> I imagine his favorite being Gardevoir.
> For the smash bit, he mains Peach, Rosalina and god help you if they pick Zelda.
-> Kyle answers every time.
"This the last time Kenny..."
"Sure sweetness, keep telling yourself that."
> Does not have discord Nitro and does not care to. He's got a meme for everything
Maybe I'll do a part 2 to this because honestly I had a lot of fucking fun with this! Got me out of my head and I got to write some stuff again! Thank you so, so much!
