"May I know to what displeasure do I owe to have you all..." Qiu Qingzhi trails off, lazily flicking his gaze up from his documents to eye up the five men currently fidgeting under his focus. "Here."

This seems to cause a furious rush of whispers as Alibaba elbows the stocky one he knows is Sun Bai, while Cui Bei and Chen Shi side steps the whole mess. Eventually the glib tongued Wang Qi clears his throat.

"This is..." He smiles, bowing deeply with a smile that would not look out of place on the face of a swindler. "General Qiu, we of Mingjing Hall, have come to ask... That is, we represent the vested interests of Mingjing Hall--"

"If you're going to be beating around the bush like this, might I just make this easier and get Li Bing here to explain it to me why five of his men have practically forced their way into my hall to have an audience with me?"

This seems to spur them into a physical reaction of having the fear of the gods put right into them. Good, Qiu Qingzhi thinks, maybe they can hurry up and tell me what they want so that I can get back to my reports--

"What are your intentions with Li Bing!"

Shocked silence ensues while all eyes turn to look at the quiet Cui Bei who is practically wilting in mortification.

"And what would have given you the idea that I... Had any 'intentions' with him in the first place?"

"This..."

Eyeing them up for a bit, he sighs. Qiu Qingzhi sets aside his report and neatly steeples his fingers. "Go back to Mingjing Hall and come back in two days with a properly constructed script of what you'd like to say to me in defence of your Vice Minister. If you're going to give me a shovel talk, do it right."

Lamenting, not for the first time since he trusted his heart to be honest, at the way his ears are burning while the lilt of laughter fills the night quiet, he tries to turn away from his companion in the bed they share. Only to be bodily hauled back into his arms.

"So you gave the kids homework to do," Li Bing giggles, breath dancing over Qiu Qingzhi's neck. "How adorable."

"You deserve people who can give a good shovel talk in defence of you," Qiu Qingzhi says simply. As if stating facts like how the sun rises from the East and sets in the West, Li Bing deserves nothing but the best.

A gentle touch settles over his heart then. "So do you, too. And I'll gladly accept any shovel talk that comes my way for you."

Qiu Qingzhi smiles a little at that. Brushing his lips to the other man's brow, he murmurs, "No need. I already gave my heart to you since the beginning."

Not at all fleshed-out lil fic about Hob joining the Detectorists to try and find one of his missing treasure caches. I love the Detectorists. I want to come back to this fic properly one day and properly work on it, but for now, I'll fill this prompt with it. :)

When Hob Gadling walks into the weekly meeting of the DMDC on a fine day in May, he is greeted by looks of mild bewilderment by the existing club members, who are all sitting in a lopsided circle drinking cups of weak tea out of old duck egg blue cups and apparently enjoying a discussion about the latest discoveries unearthed in the Danebury countryside, namely two buttons and a 1977 matchbox car.  Apparently new members looking to join is a sufficiently rare occurrence that initially no-one knows what to do but stare. However, once Hob makes a plea for his case- and hefts his new and rather expensive Minelab Manticore Metal Detector into view for all to see- he is welcomed with open arms, and his very own cup of watered-down tea. 

“Hob, eh?” says Terry, the de facto leader of the DMDC, when Hob introduces himself. “An appropriately medieval moniker. And what brings a fine fellow like yourself out to our corner of the world?”

Hob is in fact here for the very specific reason of wanting to rediscover one of his old hoards. He is 100% sure that he buried it… somewhere  in this corner of North Essex, but the centuries are long: borders change, names evolve, and even his memory has its fallibilities.  This is not something, however, that he can share with these affable looking chaps without coming off like a complete nutter, so he makes up something vague about having an interest in Saxon history and having heard the rumours of a Saxon ship-burial around these parts somewhere.

This immediately draws Lance and Andy to him, best friends and accomplished local detectorists. Andy is certain there is a Saxon ship-burial waiting to be found beneath the fields of a nearby farm, and he is pleasantly surprised to have a fellow believer join their club. Lance is less convinced about the probability of Saxon treasure, but he is impressed with Hob’s top-of-the-range detector and invites him to join them on one of their detecting ventures the next day.

Hob spends an enjoyable amount of time out in the fields with Lance and Andy. He supposes metal detecting could be quite boring for some people, but he’s learned to enjoy the slow things and there’s something inherently good about spending time outdoors in the late spring, and something kind of exciting every time his detector beeps. 

Occasionally, Dream joins them in the field. Hob explains about his rather odd boyfriend over drinks at the Two Brewers one night, and the two men take Dream’s random appearances and quiet and slightly menacing presence in their stride. Lance in particular seems to enjoy talking with Dream and explaining his craft, while Dream himself is a receptive audience, listening gravely and nodding along as they walk together. 

Hob overhears a snatch of their conversation one time, and stops to listen properly

“See, archaeologists, they gather up the facts, piece the jigsaw together, work out how we lived and find the buildings we lived in, but what we do is… that’s different. We unearth the scattered memories, mine for stories, fill in the personality. Detectorists. We’re time travellers.”  Lance is saying. He is holding something in his hand that Hob can’t see but that Dream is looking at with interest. He glances up and over a Hob, raising a mildly impressed eyebrow. Hob laughs, yes he can see why Dream likes this one. He always finds the ones with stories in their hearts. 

Hob doesn’t end up finding his lost hoard, but he is present for the moment that Andy and Lance unearth their own special find: turns out Andy’s theory about the ship-burial was spot on after all.

All right. :) Two more chapters to go, and then this draft will be done. (I actually have the very last one written already, so now it's really one chapter to go.) And then it'll be a break to do a lot of work stuff that I've got piled up on me. :P

But man. Am I enjoying these chill aftermath chapters!

Chapter 43: Lunch

"I'm not actually here to talk business, if that's all right with you," Hostile Manager Zheni Saldana said, raising her hands in an apologetic gesture as she walked up to Thiago in one of Nike's observation lounges. (It was one of the big ones, where glass walls opened up to an expansive view of Trellin itself. I actually liked the view enough to come here myself. It was the best parts of looking at a planet without actually being on one. And I knew ART liked the view, too.)

Thiago gestured for her to sit down and said, in his professional calming voice, "Of course. What can I do for you, Ms. Saldana?"

"Just Zheni is fine," she gave him a sour smile. "And I'm not even really sure why I'm here. Maybe just because it's nice to connect to an off-worlder every now and then. Especially with everything that just happened. Besides, I owe you some thanks, for getting that warning out to the Courageous cluster. Can I cover lunch for you?"

"Sure." Thiago smiled.

In the feed, he subvocalized, Hmm. I think 'do you want to talk about it' will probably just spook her. I think I'll just wait and see what she has to say. Also, SecUnit, could you kindly only tag her as Hostile Manager on your own notes? It's distracting.

Okay, fine, I could do that. I was starting to get good enough at reading Thiago's notes anyway that I really didn't need to tag all that much anymore. (Even though Thiago said that was a horrible habit and I should avoid getting into it.)

Zheni Saldana asked Thiago what he'd like, and then ordered for the both of them. While they waited for their table to light up, she said,

"So, uh. Is it actually Surveyor Thiago, or…"

"Surveyor, too. But mostly it's Dr. Thiago of Preservation Alliance."

"Goodness. That's on the other side of the galaxy? You've come a long way. But researchers often do, don't they?"

Thiago nodded.

"You're pretty far out from the rest of the galaxy yourself. May I ask what brought you here?"

"Eh. Lots of things. The money, the general loneliness of unknown stars, being far away from upper management…" she gave a self-conscious chuckle. "That last one worked out really well, didn't it."

"Are you in danger?" Thiago asked softly.

Zheni Saldana shook her head 'no.'

"Not for now, at least. New management just thinks I'm an idiot who somehow accidentally survived their hare-brained scheme. And considering how stupid they've been about all this, I expect someone more competent to eat them for breakfast scones soon enough. I just have to hold out until then. So thank you for your concern, Dr. Thiago, but I'll get by somehow. And if I don't, I don't think the Courageous cluster will much object to me changing names and just disappearing down on a mining platform or something. They're good about that sort of thing here."

"I'm very glad to hear it… Oh, and there's our lunch. Let me get that," Thiago said, and went to pick up the food they ordered. Zheni didn't look after him. Instead, she just stared out at the planet, obviously having an emotion. (I asked Thiago to tag it and gave him my drone input. He glanced through my drone, and labelled it "wistfulness.")

When he came back, they ate in silence for a little while, and then Zheni said, putting down her utensil, "Isn't it strange? How different the station feels after just a few days?"

"Without Aspen?"

"Yes…" she trailed off, staring into the distance again. Then she shook her head. "I… Dr. Thiago, I don't know if you plan to be working with Starwind Accord a lot?"

"I plan to, yes."

"Then I think I know how to repay you properly, because just lunch isn't really cutting it," she grimaced. "What I want to say, don't make the same mistake I did. The station AIs here aren't just bots."

Thiago's professional face didn't even flicker. He said, "Really?"

Zheni didn't notice the lack of feigned surprise.

"Yes. During that assault… Aspen saved my life. They talked to me, told me what to do to survive. Then they sent someone to retrieve me. And then they went on to completely wipe out those mercenaries, and they didn't do it in a way a bot would ever have, trust me on that," she stabbed at her food, flushing. "And now they're gone, and the whole station feels… Different, somehow. I know this must sound incredibly stupid, but please take my word for it. Whatever their origins, the local AIs are more than whatever you're used to."

(If only she knew about ART.)

"It doesn't sound stupid at all," Thiago said encouragingly. "Just surprising. You don't really get that attitude towards AIs out in the Rim, not very often."

She laughed. "I get you. But before my health gave out enough that I had to settle for a paper-pushing job, I was a proper worldhopper, you know? Seven jumps, and then solo surveying of the new worlds."

Of course it would be solo this far out, Thiago noted in disgust, and then said out loud, "That sounds terribly unsafe."

Zheni cracked a smile. "It was! So when you're out alone, and all you have is other whackjobs like you somewhere maybe on one planet, and your base ship AI, and your little shuttle bot, you start being nice to the AIs. I mean, your life depends on them. And your sanity also. I knew a lot of bots back in the day, but Aspen really was one of the nicer ones to work with. Old, yes, but also cute and quirky, and really very helpful once you got to know them. I liked them, and I felt, well, safe talking to them. You don't get that with every AI.

"But despite all that, I never--I never thought they were more than what they pretended to be. Just that the Trellians did our customary worldhopper thing, but even more cookily, because they'd been a lost colony for so long. I was really glad Aspen wasn't getting retired, but I admit it felt strange that Arborea Cosmica made a whole show out of moving them to a brand new ship… Until it suddenly made sense, and now I can't pretend I didn't see it anymore."

"I know exactly what you mean, Zheni," Thiago said.

Okay. By now it was blindingly obvious that all that was going to happen is that Zheni Saldana and Thiago were going to be people at each other. Platonically. Which meant I could probably keep watching them through my drones, but I didn't need to actually be here. So I sent Thiago that information by feed and got up to leave the lounge.

Thiago waved goodbye to me, and Zheni's eyes flickered over to me momentarily. Her eyes got wide and then she said, "Oh. I… I think I know that person? From--from the assault? They got me to Aspen's doctors."

Thiago corrected her: "Not 'they.' 'It.' That's SecUnit, the security chief for the Perihelion."

Zheni didn't choke on her beverage. She just slurped it in one loud throughtful motion.

"Dr. Thiago. I want to ask, but I am also afraid to ask."

"Yes, the name isn't just for show, and neither is the title. It is a full member of Perihelion's crew, and it helped in the defense operation. I don't know all the details, but it likely saved your life, because that's what it does."

I felt an emotion bleed from Thiago's feed, and I had to immediately backburner it. Because it read, Even if it doesn't like you. And I wasn't going to think about that. I was going to look at the pretty planet instead. I was going to take drone photographs for ART's collection. (Because I should probably have figured out a way to get the drones outside of the triple-glass walls before I tried it here. My current photos sucked.)

"Oh," Zheni followed me with her eyes, and Thiago casually waved a hand to distract her. "I think I owe it a thank you as well?"

Ugh, I sent to Thiago. Just keep her away from me.

Thiago nodded.

"It takes payment in hard currency." And, to me: I don't think you're all that interested in her media, right?

I wasn't.

"I'll write it an appropriate check. With a bonus," Zheni watched me leave, shaking her head in disbelief.

Once I was gone, I heard through Thiago's feed how she softly added, "A free SecUnit that's chief of security for a research ship, and which saved my life. Absolutely unbelievable." She sighed. "But then again, this is the Courageous. I don't know what I expected. Anyway, Dr. Thiago. Do you do dessert?"

Thoughts on wrestlemania night 1. If you ever care (under the cut)

Rhea versus Becky: I enjoyed the match a lot but I'm biased because I almost always enjoy watching Becky wrestle. It felt maybe a little short but if Becky is genuinely sick with strep which I believe she is, I totally get making it a little shorter. The fact she had strep honestly had me worried through the match so that distracted from the actual action for me. Both looked good and the right result in the end, but not a lot of heat since even though Rhea was wrestling as a heel the crowd never receives her as one

Six pack tag team ladder match: a lot of really fun spots, but definitely what the kids call a "spot fest". I don't mind that, who doesn't love seeing cool shit, but I haven't been invested in the story with awesome truth/judgement day so the build for this was eh and that dampened the match. Also confused about how they only announced as the match started that the titles would be split, that feels like it should have been part of the build. And A-town down under would not be my pick to carry the titles on smackdown. Austin Theory is just not entertaining. Good for R Truth though, and I was happy to see DIY on the wrestlemanja card.

Rey mysterio and Andrade versus Santos Escobar and Dominik mysterio: this was fine. Cool lucha shit, but I've been done with the lwo versus legado feud for awhile now and this match felt like it could have easily taken place on smackdown and not at wrestlemania. Having the whole factions on the outside of the ring was also weird, they must have been fucking freezing standing there in ring gear covered in baby oil and not wrestling. Andrade was the real star here for me and seeing the double crossbody to the outside blew my mind. Good to see him showing that he's not back in wwe to just mess around.

Jey uso versus Jimmy uso: easily the worst match of the night. Not sure it's worth picking apart since everyone already has. There was no real heat or emotion and they have no in ring chemistry as opponents. They basically just spammed the same moves at each other and then it ended.

The big three versus damage ctrl: another match that could have been a TV match, but I'm glad it wasn't. Seeing 3 badass black women tram together and kick ass was great and I hope a lot of little girls out there had stars in their eyes watching it. The match itself was pretty average, mostly just there to showcase Jade who didn't do anything incredible but had the aura and star power anyway. I hope she can properly go and that when she has a 1 on 1 with someone it doesn't expose her.

Sami Zayn versus gunther: easily match of the night. Pure pro wrestling magic watching one of the best underdog babyfaces I the world go up against maybe THE best big bad champion. The story was told perfectly, the in ring work was phenomenal, loved having Samis wife involved, LOVED the insane brain buster onto the turn buckle. I'm a huge Gunther fan and I've loved his title reign but he'll be moving into the main title picture from here I imagine, so him losing to my favorite male wrestler is a perfect ending to me. I'll be interested in seeing how he reacts to this loss though.

Cody rhodes and Seth rollings versus Roman reigns and the rock: a very fun main event but probably a little longer than it needed to be. Between the overly long entrances and the match itself it had to be close to 1.5 hours which is insane. They had me biting on quite a few false finishes which is impressive since I knew the bloodline would win. This was my first time seeing the rock and he was really great, I get why he's the GOAT. He just gets it. And for someone who hasn't wrestled in 12 years he was in great ring shape, big kudos to him for being able to have such a successful comeback. I hope this isn't the last we see of the final boss. Roman was good and didn't seem like as much of a sidekick as it was feared he would beforehand, I thought he played his part well. Cody was his usual self, not to my tastes but a good firey babyface. Seth was the weakest part for me since he seems to decide at random when to sell body parts and when to stop. But he had his moments too.

Overall a decent first night. I expected a little better, but the highs were definitely high. I'm hoping night 2 builds on it and delivers a little more of the grandiose nature you want from the showcase of the immortals (give us more cool entrances dammit).

✈️ AIRPLANE — does your oc like traveling, or do they consider themselves a more homey person?

John does! He's been traveling since he was a kid ranging from car rides to flying domestic and overseas so packing up and going somewhere isn't an issue at all. If he had to pick a mode, it'd be flying. The least favorite is by train but that's really bc of how cramped the sleeper cars are and he doesn't have that much room to go off of.

For MT purposes, it's nerve wracking going than on the way back; have to make sure his gear is all in place, tagged right, having enough time to get there, rest, etc. He does get asked about it on occasions (the most common one being "you??" and "you're too pretty for that" to which he replies "eh, I've got some pretty good defense.")

🚗 CAR — does your oc have a driver's license? can they drive/operate any automobiles/machinery besides cars?

They both do! John's job has a requirement of needing a type of license to operate heavy machinery (or anything bigger than an SUV), so he can, hypothetically, drive a bus or something.

💔 BROKEN HEART — what are three of your oc's negative traits?

Brian can be a workaholic. It was apparent when he was in high school given what his home situation used to be, but ofc teachers and staff didn't exactly pick up on this because of his grades. It carried over to college; being in Honors Nursing, his workload between studying, researching, shadowing, etc... it (rightfully) concerned John because it seemed like to him that he was stretching himself too thin. (And also, their relationship had a bit of a strain because of it.)

It came to a head the first few years of working at the hospital. Brian hadn't slept properly for a week, wasn't eating right, drinking a lot of energy drinks. Straight up being neglectful to himself (this is also a source of contention with John but I'll get to that in a sec). He collapsed out of exhaustion like a sack of bricks. Whole thing when John comes and gets him.

(maybe I'll do a thing about this? 🤔)

They have multiple conversations about him working like this, that it's not healthy and a little selfish. You get the idea. Brian knows how to catch it and takes a day or two off (or John asks him, "when's the last time you took off?").

Brian can be neglectful of himself but that's a habit from his upbringing. Why should be care about himself if no one else did? He's not worth anything (he is worth so much). Took him years to not slip into that mindset and also knowing when it gets to that point.

“Ah good morning y/n! How are you-” Sonny paused. “...right, sorry about that, were you frightened?” Sonny caught a glimpse of his sleeping boyfriend, and sighed in relief. “Sleep well my love” He whispered softly, and gently closed the door behind him.

“Sonny...there's something I want to ask you” You had this question ever since you and Sonny started dating, was he actually troubled by the fact that you had such a condition? “Hmmm y/n, were you about to ask me if I feel troubled by your condition?” Sonny knew that you would ask, and he already has the answer. “Y/n, we talked about this...” You don't know why, but the way he sounded...“I know it's not the first time, and I'm sorry if you find it troublesome, but I don't have a choice! I wasn't willing to find myself in this condition!” You didn't know what happened to you at that point in time, you couldn't think, what were you feeling? You don't know, there wasn't a word for it. You had enough and ran back to your room.

Minutes later, you heard a knock. “Y/n? I didn't mean to sound bad just now, can you please open the door and we can talk about it?” Sonny knocked again, wondering if you would open the door for him. “...come in, Sonny.” You needed to get things sorted out. “Y/n...what I was trying to say was, no matter how many times you ask me, my answer would still be the same. Y/n, I dated you because I love you for who you are, nothing will change. I'll always be proud of my dearest boyfriend, and that is you, y/n.” For some reason, you didn't know how to describe it, but it felt like time stopped for the both of you, and you just wanted to be in his embrace forever. “Y/n, my only y/n, take your time. Don't worry, I'll always be here for you, always.”

Alban would be a little confused at first, but will soon understand it

If You're New To Tumblr & Have No Idea How To Use This Place

(created specifically for phone users)

(and find yourself tumbling around-- aight aight I'll excuse myself--)

When I rejoined Tumblr, I was so confused and scared on how to use this site properly. I was afraid I'd be doing something offensive, or breaking the norm or not respecting the culture here or doing what I'm not supposed to be doing and so on. (I think I'm also breaking the norm by making this guideline fjsjc but please forgive me)

Anyway. Here are some stuff you need to know.

We'll start off with the buttons, then move on to the other feature exclusively available on Tumblr (filtering posts) and then etiquettes (for posting and reblogging etc.)

Buttons

You see that blue pencil button? That's the button for when you wanna make a post. The buttons available once you click on that are pretty intuitive so feel free to explore them by yourself.

Next, the house button. Pretty obvious? Yeah. That's the dashboard button. Posts are usually chronologically shown to you -- but some posts might not appear. We'll get down to that in the etiquettes section.

And then the magnifying glass. That's the 'search' or 'explore' button. There's also a similar tab on your dashboard at the top but you can explore them yourself to get used to them.

Then we have the chat bubble with a smiley. That is the equivalent of DMs here. We don't really call that our inbox here because that is specifically for the ask box. But eh each users could differ. Some users may turn off the chat feature so you might find yourself unable to 'Send A Message' to a user.

And lastly is the person icon. That is your page. You can also access your settings there. You can drag from top to bottom to refresh (works on both dashboard and your page). You'll find these at the top of your page.

If you notice the triangle pointing downwards, that's the option for you to create a side blog. But beware, you are not creating multiple accounts with that feature. Instead, you are just creating another pseudonym and using the place under that pseudonym. When you wanna send an ask or a comment, you will be automatically using your main. (Main is the URL or username, that you chose when you signed up and set up stuff).

The magnifying glass is for users to look up specific posts (either through tags or through keywords) available on your blog page (whether you originally posted it or you reblogged from others).

The icon of three dots connected by two lines is the share button. Press on it if you wanna share or grab the link to your blog page.

And beside it looking like a gear is the settings button. You can optimize stuff yeah. From here on, we shall move to the next 'chapter'.

Other Feature: Tumblr Specialty

There are quite some features that only Tumblr has (which is why I love this place so much tbh). We'll go through them one-by-one.

I will only explain about drafts, queue and inbox.

See, sometimes on Tumblr, you can end up scrolling & reblogging so many things that it may end up spamming our followers/friends on their dashboard. Below are how you can access the three features. Either you press on the three dots or press on the blue button long enough it'll show up as the icons as appeared on the right side.

To avoid spamming others' dash (if it bothers you care about them), you can opt to saving the posts to the Drafts. In there, you can edit the post to add tags or comments that you feel suitable or add-ons or simply to go back to (to read and stuff).

In Queue, you can set up the saved posts (or readily queue them from the dashboard) to a specific frequency and a specific time period. (Or just use Schedule feature if you have a very specific time you want it posted.) Using this will let the post be out there during the set times. Also very useful to make it seem like you never left.

As for inbox, I've nothing much to say. Just that, inbox on Tumblr does not mean instant messages for instant chats etc. It's for asks and submissions (you can liberally enable or disable both). Asks are where people send you stuff and you can respond to it by answering them, either privately or publicly. Heads up though, if you answer it privately you'll never see the ask ever again. (I regret it till this day... Sobs.) Submissions are posts sent to you that when you post it, it becomes a post on its own.

Ay, we move on to my favourite feature now. The tags and filtering.

Scrolling up a little bit upwards, you'll notice I put in a red arrow pointing to 'Content you see'.

The tagging itself will be explained more in the last 'chapter'. Just lemme share how to use this and how useful it is for you so that you curate your online experience on here to the best you can.

Click on the 'Content you see' button. You'll be directed to these two below.

Filtered Tags and Filtered Post Content.

Say for example, like me, you try to avoid 18+ content because you might open this app in public and you don't want to weird out the people around you irl with the sudden passing of sexual pictures as you scroll.

Simple! You can put in the keyword '18+' on BOTH of the options.

You see, filtered tags is to filter out the posts tagged as such and such. Whereas filtered post content is to filter out posts containing the keywords in the post (not placed in the tags).

Don't be afraid of using this. If for example, a user makes you upset and you dont want to see whatever it is they post, you can just put their URL in both sections. You can use this feature for as many keywords as you wish. There's a whole other explanation for Trigger Warnings and stuff, but I'm not good at that so I'll leave it out of this post. (Anyone else seeing this feel free to add on).

Now... that's done and over with. We'll be moving on to the last 'chapter'.

Etiquettes

Fhshcjs okay for real I didn't expect to write this much. I was expecting to give up writing this halfway. But welp. Okay so first things first.

1. Enjoy a post? Content? Artworks? Fanfics? GIFsets? Headcanons? Meta analysis? Stuff in general?

REBLOG. Liking works more as a bookmark and doesn't help with exposure nor algorithm whatsoever. So please. Reblog that content (unless the op, original poster, specifically says not to reblog - sometimes they put it in the tags so check the tags) and help get that post be spread around. This is very helpful for creators to get more exposure!

While reblogging, you can choose to save it into the drafts, quick reblog it or reblog with comments/reactions/add-ons.

Now. When you reblog and you wanna say something, you have two options. Either you add to the thread or you add in the tags. USUALLY, people would leave reactions either in the comments or in the tags as they reblog.

(More of this will be explained in the 'Tagging' part.)

"Wait. So reblogging is better, why's there a like button then?" you may wonder, as I once did.

As I've mentioned, likes can be like bookmarks (you can access posts you've liked in the 'liked' tab on your page). But. In some cases, for eg, when someone you follow is venting or just posting random stuff,...you can op to just liking it. Not every posts are suitable to reblog sometimes. Or like, when you post something and someone dear to you reblogged it, you can like that post to show that, "I see you reblogging my post, I really appreciate it fam". Honestly, this is something you will learn as you use the app more and more often. It's part of the fun Tumblr experience.

2. Donations post Vs Commissions/Tips etc.

There are a lot of donation posts here, but PLEASE be careful. Some of these might be scams. They will show pictures and stuff for evidence but they could be reused photos and so on. It's your money, so it's ultimately up to you what to do with it. But seriously, if you reblog such posts, don't be wary of someone coming into your DMs or askbox telling you the person is possibly a scammer. It is simply for your own safety. They are looking out for you. Basically, I guess you'll have to judge it yourself.

HOWEVER. In contrast to that, you will also see creators posting links to their KoFi, Patreon etc. Reblogging such posts would be very, very much welcomed. As a creator myself, I got some of my first commissions from someone that saw my post being reblogged by other people outside of my following circle. The only thing you should be wary of is if the links are safe, or if the creator doesn't plagiarize and claim what they have as theirs and so on.

3. Tagging

There are a couple of posts out there regarding this feature alone. If anyone makes an add-on, feel free to reblog this with them links.

Anyway.

I've already mentioned part of it in the previous chapter, under the part where I explained about filtering keywords.

It's very, very important that you do NOT censor the words. Don't sugarcoat it. For eg., s3x, rac1sm etc. Because we already have the filtering system! Just use the exact words without the symbols or numbers or whatever way of sugarcoating it.

Hard reminder: DON'T CENSOR THE WORDS.

If you censor it as we the example if gave up there, the post would not appear as filtered for other users. That might become triggering for them or give them an unpleasant experience. Even if you don't care about other users, if you don't want it to happen to you then don't do it upon others.

Wish upon others what you wish upon yourself.

Now. As for general tagging as reactionary tags: Please. You are allowed to be as incoherent as your mind truly is in the tags. You can scream, you can squeal, you can ,,,, yknowwww, just say stuff!!! I'll demonstrate with the tags on this post if you're still not sure. :) ...or just observer how others use it. Would you follow someone who says they'll do violent things to uphold what's right or would you follow someone who is patient and proactive with their words and actions to uphold what's right?

- suicidebaiters. Just no. People come here on Tumblr as escapism in general. Please don't tolerate this behaviour. Even if it's for the 'greater good', if someone does end up off-ing themselves, that will be on these baiters. Block them on sight if you must. How to block?
