dude How do you Draw rito people? i would actually Love a detailed Tutorial
Hey!! Thx for the ask!
I can't do a very detailed tutorial right now because I'm Not home and dont have my Tablet with me. But I will try anyway.
(In all honesty, I have absolutely no clue what I'm doing most of the time and I am not the best person to ask for a tutorial ah)
I struggled quite a Lot trying to figure Out how to Draw rito, the thing that I Had the Most problems with was the head. I usually just draw human characters who all Sort of follows the same formula.

First, I Draw a circle, then I add this face cross thingy to know where everything should be... And then I Just add everything else 👍
((this is Not supposed to be a Tutorial for drawing humans, I know that this wasnt helpful in the slightest. Im Just trying to Show the head shape.. process))
Alright! So for drawing a rito, you need to use a different shape as your base. (Well... You don't need to, its Just something that usually helps me)
Here's the shape!

You add the face cross down here, because thats where the face is

Then you place the eyes, only one of them is fully visible.

Then you... Somehow do the beak

And then U add details

Um, yes. And there you go! You Just Draw a rito head, congratulations! NOW the Body is a whole Other thing... But Tumblr only lets U add so and so many pictures to your Post so I'll probably do another one. (Or Not)

In the meantime, Go Look at this post ny @udog they seem to know what theyre doing

(Live footage of me drawing, because I dont really think about what Im doing. Ever)

You draw curly hair very yummy how do you do it
thank you!! what i do when i draw curly hair is try to focus on the overall shape and to not get distracted by individual curls or strands of hair. here's a telemachus for demonstration purposes:
i divide it into sections like the bangs and where the hair parts and use loose shapes. start simple, you can always add more detail later!

Rick Sanchez Wig Tutorial | Monobrow Included!
youtube
Sharing in case I accidentally close this tab I've had open for months (like I almost just did 😅), and because I REALLY need to finally decide on & buy a damn wig this week.
I'm not 100% on the wig actually used in the video - instead of spraypainting to tone the color like they say to at the end, I'd rather just... find one closer to the right color to begin with.
#rick and morty#rick and morty cosplay#rick sanchez#rick sanchez cosplay#omg i really need to start actually working on this#the con is just over a month away#and i have 500 things to do#wig tutorial#epic cosplay wigs#i kinda think they made too many spikes in his hair?#so i'll probably opt for doing a few less and making some of them bigger#but I do think this tutorial looks good & will be helpful overall#especially for making the bald spot#Youtube

*average self-proclaimed safe space tumblr blog voice* I soooooo support people with schizophrenia that must be so hard to you anyway I just saw some weird looking woman talking to herself right outside my house im fearing for my life should I call the cops. Yeah dude I support all the adhd havers in the chat just try to pay attention when I talk to you it's not that hard it's like the least you could do to show some regard for the other human being in front of you. Like it's fine to have memory problems but why did you forget this one thing in particular that was important to me do you like not care or anything you should try harder. I am one of the only real mental health advocates to still exist in this world I hear your struggles that being said I hope I never get to meet one of those irl sociopaths or people with aspd whatever they call them now they're so freaky and they can blend into society so well you might never know if you're actually face to face with an actual socio i mean person with aspd in the store absolutely one of my biggest fears what if they torture me in their basement. I absolutely empathize with all the people in here suffering from delusions as long as they like, don't actually show it or have one concerning me that'd be highkey uncomfy leave me out of this dude im not talking to you until you get help, anyway my fav character from my anime just presumably died but i still think they actually survived im sooo delulu lol. We should push for more wheelchair accessibility in our cities I agree but like it's so difficult to tell how many people are actually disabled and who are actually faking it, like, ummm why did that "wheelchair" "user" guy stand up just now cover blown lmaoo…. Yeah I support people with facial differences but I still have a right to be disgusted you can't control my emotions anyway can you tag your selfies as #body horror this deeply triggering to me. Speaking of triggering can you also pleaseee hide your scars or at least warn us beforehand jesus do you know how many people genuinely do not want to see it. Here is my extremely fast strobing lights and flashing gifset #epilepsy. Yeah I loveee girls with bpd beautiful princess disorder am i right they're so interesting the stigma sucksssss i'd love to get to be one's favourite person as long as they don't actually have any of those weird or violent symptoms or don't go into any of their "episodes" near me like that's a bit dramatic….. I deeply feel for those who had underwent narcissistic abuse from the hands of an npd I think my shitty ex boyfriend was a narcissist too tbh #surviving narcissism here are 10 signs you are dealing with a narcissist and here's a tutorial on how to trigger a narc crash to epically own them anyway does anyone else think we should start enforcing mandatory castration of all the newly diagnosed narcs like you know what happens when they reproduce right. But I am willing to support them as long as they go to therapy to get that fixed it's just you know. Anyway sometimes hospitalisation is fine if they're genuinely a danger to themselves like what do you want them to go live on the streets or actually get help?? I support all the people dealing with being a professionally diagnosed disordered system and I think it's sooooo terrible how literally 99% of the youth population nowadays is purposefully faking it for attention I did my research (1 minute google search, 2 minute r/fakedisordercringe scrolling session and consulting a single system that agrees with me). It's just not believable to me that there's really that many people with it isn't it supposed to be rare… Also are we really sure all those alleged people in their heads are really real or just their imagination maybe all of them are actually faking it huh food for thought. I am very uncomfortable with nonverbal high support needs ppl actually having sex like consent is supposed to be explicitly verbal only and, are we really sure they can even consent arent they like basically children. You can't call me ableist I'm literally autistic
#mine#actually autistic#actually npd#actually plural#ableism#sanism#npd stigma#bpd stigma#pluralmisia#<- gonna add on to these later i am. bad at tagging warnings#i needed this off my chest like. can these people stop#dont know how comprehensible this is im bad at articulating myself#long post

You Should Play Outer Wilds (With No Spoilers)
youtube
Outer Wilds (2019) is an open-world exploration/mystery game set in a beautifully-designed, dynamic, miniature solar system. You play as the newest member of your species's space program, setting off on your first journey into space.
Your character carries the first-ever translator tool that will allow you to read the writings of an ancient alien species that lived in your solar system thousands of years ago. As you explore the ruins they left behind throughout the solar system and talk with your fellow travelers on other planets, you will discover questions and piece together the answers in a compelling and moving story accompanied by a beautiful soundtrack (and hints of cosmic horror — space is big and dangerous and you are small and fragile).
The game is available on Steam, Epic, Nintendo Switch, PS4/PS5, and Xbox.
Some Notes About the Gameplay
There is no combat and no need for super-fast reflexes. Your biggest nemeses will be inertia and gravity, as both are simulated continuously in real-time — and much more accurately than in most games: gravity is always acting on you (even in space; "zero-g" is really just freefall, after all), there is effectively no maximum speed in space aside from the limit imposed by how long you can accelerate, and you can only slow down by accelerating in the opposing direction (your ship's autopilot is very helpful and does that for you if you use it). There are no upgrades or progress gates after the tutorial; the only limits to your exploration are physics and knowledge.
Because knowledge is simultaneously the only thing you unlock and the only key needed to progress, spoilers directly detract from the experience of discovering things for yourself. Be careful when looking up anything about the game if you think you might play it!
The solar system is constantly changing as time passes, so you often need to figure out not just where to go, but when to be there to find what you're looking for (if you need to wait for something, you can sleep at any campfire to quickly pass time).
There is a lot of reading, but almost every conversation, record, or journal (including in the tutorial!) contains useful hints and clues, so don't skim past them thinking they're just set-dressing! If you want even more worldbuilding, many side-characters have additional dialogue if you talk to them again after finishing your first conversation with them, and you can talk about your discoveries with the travelers who are camped on other planets!

Epic Animatic: If I could draw/animate
I wish I was able to draw because I've just listened to the final saga in EPIC the musical and I NEED someone to animate the transition from Hold them Down to the first few scenes in the song Odysseus.
I need to see Ody stringing the bow to "I will not let any part go to waste", and see Antonius getting up on a table to rile up the suitors. They're knocking candles over and picking up the torches from the walls in good-ol mob fashion.
"Here and now, there's a chance for action!" And Ody is lining up his shot with the axes, his back to the target so he's shooting towards the suitors. The suitors get all riled up, and Antonius steps into the shot. With the final line: "Channel the fire inside of your soul", we see Odysseus' eyes go red and BOOM.
SHOT FIRED
Antonius falls on the table, and everyone looks to the cloaked man who strung the bow AND shot through the axes AND just killed Antonius. Man is the epitome of a final boss.
I need a look of horror as the song Odysseus begins, I need the suitors frozen in fear as Ody calmly starts approaching singing about what he's suffered.
I need him to walk through the suitors who move out of his way: they're scared of him. They feel the aura. He grabs a pitcher of liquid off one of the messy tables- not something flammable, this is important. He keeps walking, bow slung over his shoulder and arrows at his side.
At the line: "Desecrated, sacked like Troy," Ody reaches a marred family portrait over the fireplace. It's him, Penelope, and baby Telemachus. His portrait's face has been scratched out and it's clear the suitors have destroyed it (you can even have them destroying it in Hold them Down for the drama). The younger Ody has his bow slung over his shoulder and a fancy cloak around his shoulders.
Then I need the camera angle to shift so Final Boss Ody aligns with the younger him, bow strung but his cloak ragged. He removes his hood to the line: "Dare to touch my wife and hurt my boy!"
And even though he looks so different from his younger self, it aligns perfectly with his position in the portrait.
The suitors all realize who it is, and man, I want Ody to look MENACING. I want to be AFRAID.
"I have had... enough". This is said as Ody pours the pitcher over the fireplace and plunges his side of the room into darkness, his eyes glowing in the ember's dying light. The only sources of light are from the suitors holding torches.
Then you can have some cool shots in the darkness as he starts his massacre aiming for those with torches but THOSE SCENES ARE STUCK IN MY HEAD AND I DO NOT POSSESS THE TALENT TO ANIMATE -
If someone who pursued that skill wants to use any of this PLEASE I'm literally looking up art tutorials because it's stuck in my H E A D. HELP -

Tips for making a radio play
We've had a lot of experience making this show, and we've seen a lot of series come and go or even crash and burn before they begin. So we're going to give some tips to hopefully help people avoid the crashing and burning.
1: Start Small
A lot of people make the mistake of starting with a grand idea in mind, like "We're going to do an epic with 3 seasons that comes with animatics, original music, and a large cast of characters and-" Slow down. You don't even know what you're capable of yet, so it's a really bad idea to plan so far ahead without knowing what you can do and how much effort it takes to do it. Before you decide to dedicate yourself to something on a grand scale, start with something small to test the waters. A pilot is a good way to really understand the process and give an audience a chance to get interested. This pilot should not be as long as a full episode unless you plan for your episodes to be relatively short anyways. There should be a small cast, 2-5 characters at most generally. You don't need to go all-in with the pilot, just use what you have to do it and hopefully it should garner enough attention to get more people on board in your project team. Even after your pilot, make small goals. Plan for say, 5 episodes at first, and plan for more once you've gotten a flow and idea of production time and how long you want to be working on this project. Radio plays take a lot of time and effort, they aren't as easy as they seem.
2: Don't Cast Too Early
This is a big one that a lot of people tend to do that's a huge mistake to be making. Do not cast your characters way ahead of when you're going to need them. Generally, you should have your next script done FIRST before you cast the characters for it, and even if you have scripts done for multiple episodes ahead of time, do not cast unless you plan to get the lines done ASAP. You do not want to have idle voice actors waiting a really long time before they can even record lines, because this is a good way to lose voice actors or have people feel you don't really know what you are doing or how to organize a project. The exception to this rule is if you know someone really well and you know they want the role and they will stick around for it. It's good to cast people you are closer with as long term characters than expecting strangers to volunteer all their time, which leads into our next tip...
3: Don't Expect Too Much From People
Unless you plan on paying people, don't expect too much hard work from others. Don't expect voice actors to stay on for years and years and years. Don't expect a musician to volunteer original music for free. Don't expect artists to draw a bunch of scenes or animatics. Expect to start with basic resources, like stock music and one piece of cover art. If people want to volunteer more, they will come in time once you've shown your project is legitimately producing content. People are generally not going to just hop on board when you have no credentials and no examples of what you're capable of.
4: Quality Control
You need to have certain standards of quality, and you need to understand what that means. For example, no matter how much you might like someone's voice, if they have a bad microphone there is no fixing that audio, it will be unpleasant to edit and even more unpleasant for an audience to listen to. You can't just chuck together whatever audio you get or have, you need to research how to clean up noise, how to master vocals, how to level volumes, how to make sure your sound effects are good quality and not distractedly bad. Thankfully, Audacity which is a free program can handle most of your audio editing needs and there are plenty of tutorials for it on youtube so there's no reason not to study this stuff before you dive in.
5: Organization
This one's important. You need an organized system for getting everything done. Have checklists, organized folders, a proper place for crew to communicate. Discord is excellent for organizing a project because you can make different channels for different purposes within one server, such as a place for auditions, a place to submit lines, a place to post art, a place to give instructions, and you can make certain channels accessible to only specific people so spoilers aren't getting out to the wrong people. The more organized your project is, the smoother things will run.
6: Don't Overwork Yourself
It's very tempting to just do all the hard work on your own, like doing all the vocal editing, all the SFX, placing all the music, doing all the scripting. And at first, you'll probably have no choice but to do this. But as your project gets bigger, you should start to divide out the roles for other people to do, otherwise you risk burnout. It might feel fun to get all these things done on your own, but after a while it's going to feel tedious and it's often going to take more time to do. It's okay to have people you trust work on scripts, you would still be the director of what that script is about but you might be surprised what other people can come up with. It might be difficult to find a good audio editing crew but it's worth it if you do.
7: Be Willing to Take Criticism
Nobody's perfect, and sometimes people will have constructive criticism about your project. Don't see criticism as failure, see it as an opportunity to improve. For example, if you're having a hard time casting a character and you hear a lot of people saying they don't want to audition for the character because they don't like the character, don't sit there insisting your writing is gold and everyone else is just rude. Examine why people don't like the character, and adjust. If you notice people aren't really jumping on board with your project, swallow your pride and ask why. Try to figure out what it is that needs improvement, and then move forward with it.
8: Have Voice Actors Record Multiple Takes
Be sure that you're not just getting one take of lines, because you never know when a line might not sound right, or if a different delivery would sound better. Have at least 3 takes of every line recorded, and encourage your voice actors to try different kinds of deliveries. This way you have a much bigger chance of getting quality lines and the best takes!
9: Don't Rely on Artwork
This is an AUDIO drama, you CAN NOT expect everyone to be watching the video if you release a video with it. Some people just play these in the background, or download them to listen while they drive. If you're expecting people to understand what's going on from the artwork alone, you're doing something wrong. Imagine your script not having any images to go with it, and try to imagine what people are going to get out of purely listening. There are a lot of clever ways to help people visualize things without an actual visual. Artwork should be a bonus, not a requirement.
9B: Don't Script Visual Only Cues
Speaking of not relying on art, this goes with the above and is an issue a lot of beginners have. Scripting things like "the character smiles", "character waves", "character stands up" is not helpful for sound design. You need to figure out how those would be conveyed if they are important, like for smiling have the prompt for the actor you can have [Said happily] for a tone, a [shuffle] for standing up, a [whooshing] for waving with a character saying something like 'I'm waving as hard as I can!'. Sound effects and exposition are your friends in radio plays, soundless actions are not.
10: Be Careful About Vocal Effects
Vocal effects can be really cool! You can make someone sound like a demon, or a ghost, or some kind of magical creature. But you also need to be really careful about using those effects, because they can very easily make a person's voice hard to understand. This tip doesn't always work, but sometimes you can have the original voice line overlay the effect and make the effect quieter to keep the voice more clear. Run the effects voices by other people to make sure they can understand them.
11: Organization and Communication is Important
Radio plays have a lot of stuff that goes into them. There's a lot of files, often a lot of people, and a lot of tasks and instructions that need to be made. Discord is an excellent messenger to organize a radio play in, where you can organize things by topic in channels and assign roles to people to make sure they have special access to specific channels so other people don't get content they're not supposed to. You also need to make sure you are communicating with everyone and make sure everyone is on the same page. A discord server can help with this by having things like an announcement channel, an auditions channel, a channel to submit lines, etc. Google docs is also a great resource to keep everyone updated, where you can make things like art claims, and progress checklists, and share scripts. You can change permissions on the documents to let people comment or edit, either anyone viewing it or specific people who can be given access. The more organized you are, the faster things will get done and the more your team will respect the project.
12: Format Your Scripts to be Reader Friendly
We had some fairly messy looking scripts in the past, where there was nothing really making the character names stand out from the rest. Lines weren't spaced properly, names weren't bolded, and as a result voice actors would often miss lines on accident or not realize where a line ended or began. Now, you don't have to format it like we do, but you at least need to make it clear when a new line is being spoken and by who. Space new lines apart. What we do is we bold all the character names at the start of the lines and change the paragraph settings to adding a space after each paragraph. This makes it so when a character has a longer line, the spacing remains close together, but a new line from a new character will be spaced away from the previous line. As a bonus, we highlight all the character names in specific colors for specific characters (Not too bright colors!) and this has majorly solved the issue of people missing their lines and we have gotten many compliments for this formatting.
13: Be Kind and Respectful to Your Crew
I really shouldn't have to say this, but it is incredibly important that you respect the people you're working with. More than likely, they are volunteering their time to you, and you have no right to disrespect them by pushing them, tossing them to the side, being picky with them, getting into arguments, rejecting their feedback, etc. You shouldn't even be treating them like this if you were paying them. If you want people to stay and to provide quality content, they will be at their best when you treat them well
14: Listen a Few Times Before Release
So the audio is done, time to make a video and release it! Right? Wrong! You still need to do more quality control! This time you should listen through a few times and pay close attention to any issues that may occur, such as odd pauses, misplaced sound effects, or accidentally repeated lines. This can be easy to miss if you're not paying attention, and once it's out, your mistakes will be out there for everyone to hear.
15: Don't Get a Big Head
On the one hand, it's good to be proud of your work... but on the other, there's such a thing as being too confident and too prideful, especially if you haven't made a reputation for yourself yet. No matter how good you think your ideas might be, you yourself are not going to be the true judge of that. It's up to other people if they like what you have to give, and if they don't like it, there's probably a good reason for it and you may need to take a big bite of humble pie. This is where you need to be open to feedback and realize no one is perfect, no one has the most amazing idea with no flaws. Even we have made a lot of mistakes and will continue to do so, and we know we are always learning. And because of that, we try to listen to constructive feedback. Sure, we can't do everything people want, but we can try to at least improve. Basically, don't boast without knowing what people actually think of your work, and if they don't like it, don't blame them; be ready to look at yourself.
Also, don't put down other creators' work in order to boast about how much better you could or did do it. We're not here to fight, we're not here to compete, we're all just here making something we're supposed to love and be passionate about. It doesn't matter if you honestly think your work is better, having a nasty attitude about it is not going to make people confident in your work. They're just going to see you as someone with no respect for the craft and therefor probably not having the talent you claim you have.
16: Be Able and Willing to Contribute
So you have this idea, and you want to make it happen. What are YOU going to do to do that? The thing is, if you're going to be the one in charge of this project, you're going to need to pick up a lot of skills of your own to do whatever you can for it. You can't always rely on having other writers, or other voice actors, or other editors, etc. The more tasks you can make yourself available for, the better. I'm not saying you have to do everything or even do a whole lot, but the more you are at least able to do if need be, the more you can overcome hurdles such as losing an editor for whatever reason. I think, at the very least, when you're making a radio play you should be able to manage the writing and audio/video editing. Managing the writing shouldn't just be 'here's a small summary of what i want, write it for me', it should involve at least an outline or a collection of notes for what you had in mind, or you should work with people on the writing process by tossing around ideas. If you're just going to be an ideas person who has everyone else perform the creative tasks to make it real, you're going to have a lot of hang ups and you're not going to understand or value the work people put in nearly as much as you would if you learned the process yourself. Your crew might start feeling like you're not actually contributing much and that you're depending on them for everything to happen.
That's all we could think of for now, but if we think of more tips we'll add them to this post and reblog it to show the new ones. We hope this helps!

Hello, this is a fanfic request idea to a crossover to Epic the Musical and Underverse. The AU is still pretty new, but if you are curious to try it out? Then.
My idea is that since in the epic version of the odyssey. Odysseus took more of what we would call it to Undertale logic the genocide route and after thinking for a while. I got a small idea to it
So since in the beginning of the story when they are about to head home. Odysseus still has Polites with him. As his symbol of Pacifist and Eurylochus being his symbol of Genocide. Or at least in the beginning Eurylochus was.
And Odysseus basically just go through the game. The interesting parts to the idea though is the UT cast reaction and thoughts about Odysseus. Since he is a king too and Toriel and Asgore are royal family too etc
So my idea is in the middle of the Open Arms song. Odysseus falls down the hole that is the way to the OG Undertale place and Polites still up there noticed him falling and want to help him out of the hole. But Odysseus being the leader of the crew and king too. Tells his friend Polites to stay up there and tell him to wait for him until he finds a way back up again and if they are able to help with finding the way to the entrance of the cave (that is the game) and that they will reunite again after he gets out of there.
Polites agrees believing that he will be able to do it. But are ready to go down there himself if he ever need to. And goes back to the crew to explain everything that happened to them (and to make sure that they WON'T burn the place thanks to Odysseus' last order if they don't return)
Odysseus will be neutral in the beginning of the game and since the Cylops hasn't happen yet then Athena is still with him and can guide him through the journey in the game
And Chara can maybe join him too after he landed on their grave
I don't know if Frisk should still be alive? Considering we are A LOT into the past but ideas are open though
Sans and Papyrus will be interesting case though to him since they are living skeletons right? So I can see Odysseus immediately asks them how they are here when they are suppose to be down in the underworld with Hades right? And Sans just answers while being confused too by his question that they are not human skeletons. Which just confuses Odysseus even more XD
To the first timeline of the au idea then I imagine that Odysseus meet Flowey first and are of course confused by the fact of how a talking flower is even possible in the first place? But Flowey gives him the tutorial like in the game. But the only difference is that since Odysseus doesn't trust him yet. He avoids Flowey's attacks on the first round that just confuses him at first but play alongs to the next round until he gets enough of Odysseus and just straight up want to kill him instead. Which makes Odysseus immediately get his sword out ready to defend himself against Flowey. But before anything bad happens Toriel comes to the rescue and help him out from it.
Odysseus thanks her for her hospitality and introduce himself to her with name and everything with the king part too.
Toriel a bit surprised by this. (Since how would you react to meet a royal human again after all of these years)
I imagine since Odysseus isn't a child and after learning about his title lets him continue in the Underground but do warn him about the rest of the monsters and Asgore himself too
I also imagine the reason why the monsters are stuck in the Underground is because of the gods. (Or Zeus specifically) and he could do it himself or do something similar like he did to Odysseus from humans from a different time and that is why they are still there
Getting the Monsters out of there would be interesting though from the pacifist route since they will still be stuck on an island. But they can also join on Odysseus' journey to get back home. But it will be dangerous if we follow the canon timeline... ^^"
Ideas are open if you like it or not and if you want to add chapters too. I'm thinking to maybe have it on ao3. But that's your own choice here of course and I hope you will have a great day. ^^
Hey! This ask has been in my inbox for so long, mainly because I don't have time to do anything lately but also because I keep rereading it. Unfortunately, I don't know anything about undertale, certainly not enough to write something like this. While I could do research to write it, I'm frankly too busy and I also think it could be done better by someone familiar with undertale.
That being said, this is an AMAZING and detailed idea. I really like it, I think there's potential there! I'd suggest sending this request to someone else, or even taking a go at writing it yourself! I'm really sorry I can't do it, I hope you find someone who can <3
If any writer reading this is interested by the idea or knows someone who is, contact the person who wrote this ask and see if you can use their idea or send it to someone who might be interested!

HOW DO TOU DRAW I CANR DO IT I HATE HAIR!! 🙏🙏🙏 MY DRAWINGS BE BALD CHBI BITCHES!! help ❤️
by trusting the damn process 💀
WELL okay sort of , I'll use a little mannequin for this just because it's funny
okay now that we've got that sorted out, let's start first with straight hair!
straight hair sticks out real funny when it's shorter, so definitely take account of the SHAPE. when you look at short cuts like grown-out buzz cuts, you see spikes. when you see it get longer, it kind of... flops.
straight hair is defined by being epically pushed down by gravity, so you have to remember that it's falling doowwwnnn from the scalp. whenever i need to look at hair flowing in different directions though, it's best to swoop in the direction opposite.
woosh woosh...
but what about curls, right? well! curls are a bit trickier. because it mostly depends on what KIND of curls you want.
all curls start out tiny. but when you want looser curls, you want looser shape!
curls generally all have that "hook" look to them. and the tighter the curl, the more that hook turns in on itself.
it's best to look at curl pattern examples such as these ↓ in order to understand curls best!
the longer your hair goes, it usually always droops. it's best to keep eye on shapes in hair, and maybe even trace hairstyles while you're learning! (that's what i did, and now I can freehand it! :D)
of course there's way better tutorials out there than this silly little thing i made up, but i hope it gives you some help nonetheless!
hair is all about shape, volume, and size. it's one of people's most unique traits! study how hair flows and falls, how it curls and straightens, how it looks wet and dry, that sort of stuff. just study!!! study art, it's so fun!!! especially if you LIKE making it!!!
#art one of my most favorite special interests#couldn't live without it#arcade gives advice#i hope this is helpful! it might not be though since i am HORRIBLE at explaining LMFAO#i definitely recommend looking up tutorials on tiktok or instagram. that is artist tutorial CENTRAL over there!#even pinterest has some good tuts!#study photos and real life — best advice i can always give when drawing :3#art talk

this isnt as long as before but i just cannot stop thinking about this, why i dislike story and lore boils down to these main point
--the ending feels unsatisfying as hell even if i ignore everything i dont like about how the game treated zelda and ganondorf, the ending itself just feels, despite being presented as super epic an touching, incredibly empty to me and part of it is that it feels like an unearned return to status quo of course i didnt think zelda would stay a dragon and i actually wanted to help her, which is why i kept trying to hunt down impa since she said shes gonna search for a way for us to help zelda, bc i wanted to!! i was eager to help her!
i fully hoped and kinda expected that thered either be some kind of dragon dungeon (think, the water dragon from okami) tho that would be difficult since you can get items from her so i ended up thinking before going into the end thered be a mission with impa (or at least given to you from her) where she found answers in ancient scripts (that she told you she would look through) and that you need to find a special lil thing that will help zelda undragonfy, like some sort of ultra secret forbidden enigma stone able to reverse dragon transformations kinda deal (golden opportunity to make you go and talk to the yiga bc they might know or even own some ancient texts) that youd keep in your inventory until the very end and after you kill dragondorf (pretty mortal for becoming an immortal dragon huh) you take it out and use it, undragonfying zelda and ending in a similar epic falling and paralel to the beginning way
... and instead impa stays in the house and only has a few repeating dialog boxes and does nothing and you cant do anything bc in the end you just get randomly teleported (and stripped of your clothing AGAIN) into some weird ethereal plane somehow?? with the ghost of long ass dead sonia and apparently not as gone as i thought rauru (seriously i felt sad when he went poof at the end of the tutorial but i guess i shouldnt have) awkwardly blasting dragon zelda with some magic tm and its all reversed no problem (heck me for caring i guess) turns out helping her was killing an evil guy we never really knew and mineru just kinda says lol its bc time and light magic i guess lol as an explanation
like i really wanted to go and help zelda! i was motivated to do it and spent HOURS trying to find impa again but i wasnt allowed to do anything bc zelda gets saved by some deus ex machina bs in the end anyway, what a fool i was, of course killing the evil guy is the solution to everything >:( (and no i dont care if its meant as in uwu sonia and rauru wanted to help one last time uwu bc it doesnt change how unsatisfying it was to watch it all just kinda happen)
--point two is just how much totk feels like its trying to REPLACE botw instead of being a sequel, its not building on anything of it its ripping out the fundation and building its own thing in its place, like i was so excited to see what happened to the titans, and all the sheikah tech what they mabe had done in all that time now that theres a tech enthusiastic girl as the head of the monarchy, maybe even find out more about them and instead its just all ... gone with not explanation? theres isnt even a LAME explanation, its just gone?? you never find out what the ancient energy actually was, and why there were concentrations of it in the regions with the ancient furnace (well heck it didnt even have anything to do with ganondorf actualyl bc that would have been too interesting) bc that was so intrigueing?? like yeah where DID it come from and why is it there ?? and oh suddendly hey look theres an even MORE ancient and even MORE advanced civilization thats way COOLER and BETTER than the ancient sheikah now, they also built stuff everywhere and have been here ALL ALONG cant you see its everywhere!! and its the only thing everyone cares about all of the sudden, all evdidence of the ancient sheikah tech was scraped of the earth so there literally only being some guardian parts on top of the hateno lab feels like an oversight now bc everything lese was to thourohgly wiped of the map- for no reason even?? like im totalls fine with it being useless and not working anymore but .... why remove it like it was wiped from history?? and then they have the gall to mention the happenings of botw like, twice in the entire game but still just give you the most basic summary of it mentioned on a sidenote with again not even a hint what happened to all of it
wouldnt there have been the golden opportunity to use it to access the new parts and map points that changed?? like a shrine thats fallen into the underground, an access to caves and the underground in the broken and collapsed elevator tube of a sheikah srhine?? maybe even a broken interior of an old shrine, like the room you get put into with the puzzle and where the monk once were broken and half overgrown in the udnerground? some left over construction site where you can see oh thats how the ancient sheikah got all that tech underground, bc they all had access to it and built it there to then rise up when its needed? maybe even making use of the old sonau sites since they frequnetly built their srhines within those ruins?? that the ancient sheikah found em and put the ruins to use? to research it and built their own stuff from it? it wouldnt have to have any focus, literally just part of the enviroment even
really everything totk does is like -forget botw ever happend, look how much cooler and better i am, who cares about sheikah stuff sonau are the new cool guys that came out of nowhere but now apparently have been everywhere all along actually-
i LOVE botw and with it feeling much more like its attempting to replace botw instead of building its story and world further every reference to botw i found felt like a slap in the face instead, oh look where the shrine of life used to be isnt even a hint left of sheikah tech somehow, and also right under it is the lake of healing filled with sonau structure bc ACTUALLY they were here FIRST bc they are so cool omg you guys
dare i say it feel a little like they wanted to make an entirely different version of botw basically, but wanted to reuse the map and models so they just said yeah uhhhh its totally a sequel yeah yeha that makes sense, its not erasing botw and doing essentiall the same thing again but bigger cooler and better (tm) its just uuh a ...sequel ye.
#ganondoodles talks#totk spoilers#totk#sorry i got longer again#also what was calamtiy ganon then#if it was ganondorf trying to resurrect himself outside of the seal then ... wouldnt he ... mention it or something or anyoone no?#also dont like how all the teasers made it seem like there was soem great mystery as to how gan got down there-#.. actually how DID he get down there thats a pretty weird place to go to war too#-aynway and WHO did this to him omg he looks in pain maybe theres more to it alll omg#and then its just ... yeah cool guy tm sealed him#oh ... ok#why would you tease us with a good time then bring stale chips and an empty beer can you have brought with you three times before already#like i get we love to read more into stuff that isnt there#but they were oh so vageu with the teasers and stuff we got to see when its all just#the same schlok but even more tasteless than before

Okay I didn't say anything at first because I was nervous and didn't wanna be annoying or something but I came back because like,, woah mY GOD I LOVE YOUR ART STYLE
I was going through the hatsune miku tag and just!! Woah the COLOURS the SHAPES the LINEART RARAGGDHAHS CHEF'S KISS

immediately it reminded me a lot of rourow's art (one of those iconic muse dash artists <3) and like,, oh my god they're my biggest inspiration for my art style. I find it funny I could spot the muse dash inspiration immediately /pos
But you also put your own spin on it and AGH <3 both rourow's art AND YOURS is just,, aregsgshh I wanna eat it. I think your art would taste like fruit gushers
I will be taking notes I wish I could absorb your art style into my blood
OKAY THIS IS GETTING LONG SORRY LMAO but if you ever have any more tips or tutorials or even speedpaints I will be there with a pen and paper <33
Rourow art is soooo coool right? The Reimu just stole my heart. The colors were fun, stylish, seemingly unrestricted by any rules or seams in their structure... I wanted a look like that.
Then Miku arrived and the envy in my heart became too much to bear.
Here's my epic Dizzy tips to studying, my fellow Muse Dash enthusiast. I broke down the artwork into shapes, lineart, and color. I noted what I enjoyed and especially how it differed to what I drew. I refined the notes further until I had some main ideas/commonalities, and try to reason the whens and whys for these choices. Do they reinforce lighting, the shape of the subject, to vary the colors present, etc. There were also a lot of 'just because' reasonings (X happens when Y). All those became a 'rulebook' of sorts.
After that was lots of replicating, tracing, etc. Making sure that style was the first thing my intuition and muscle memory jumps to. My first dozen or so original drawings after that were done with many references and notes on hand until I got the hang of things.
The plan was actually to go as identical as possible, but differences were inevitable. I wanted to do my own thing proportions/faces wise, anyways. And it IS great to have people enjoy my work as its own thing AND acknowledge the clear influence.
Still so much I wanna absorb though... The flowy and varied lineweight, and I've yet to reach the sheer elaborateness of the color use.
If it helps in your quest, I don't mind talking about certain choices I make (there's usually a reason for it). Just try to be specific! Makes it easier to choose my words. Thanks!

do you have any advice/tips/tricks for a total beginner trying to get into making games? ive been so inspired by you and I really wanna try making something, even if it’s little to start, but my knowledge of code is… absolutely nil.
When I started the game my knowledge of code was very close to absolutely nil! Some things I feel like I learned quickly:
The right tool to make your game is the one that you want to work with. Early on I was really worried about making my game in an engine that was designed for point and click games because I thought learning to use something with broader applicability like Unity would be better in the long run. Some very nice person advised me that the best game engine for a project is the one that fits and works for you. I think they were right!
Making something little to begin with is a great idea. Although my first foray into game making was Beekeeper's Picnic, I started out by making a proof of concept demo that took me from nothing through to a short finished "game", and that process taught me so much! (And actually... in some ways Beekeeper's Picnic is "small." It's not an epic story with dozens of locations and characters, it's quite self-contained with a 3-6 hour play time.)
It's good to find community! Part of the reason I like Adventure Game Studio, the game engine I'm using, is that it has 20+ years of community built around it, and someone is always there to help if I get completely stuck.
I keep wondering if people would appreciate some beginning tutorials in using Adventure Game Studio? Hmmmmm
