no of fence to jon snow fans who for some reason care about his exact age, but these discussions just annoy me no end. not only bc there's no way any weirwood flashbacks bran has to rhaegar/lyanna will come with time/datestamps, but also bc there's always comments like this:

SEVERAL turns of the moon (ie, months)?! have these people never seen a human baby before or just have no concept of their ages? even if we take into account travel time from the toj to wf, meaning jon was not a newborn too fresh out the oven when catelyn and robb arrived, there's still a difference between a newborn and a 3mo and an even bigger difference between those infants and an older baby 5-7mo. there's very good reasons these lines were cut. whatever birthdates can be worked out internally for jon and robb from when they're first mentioned as 15 and 16 don't matter in the end, bc grrm doesn't care about a consistent timeline and the actual text of catelyn's pov and ned's convo with robert about cheating on her should outweigh any guesstimates about jon's official nameday wrt robb's. catelyn may not have cared for jon, but she would sure as hell have noticed his nameday if it came before robb's and made him ned's firstborn. if jon's birthday canonically came before robb's then either ned's cover story would not involve adultery (not impossible for him to sire a bastard before his wedding), or he'd just give jon a new nameday along with his new name to fit the adultery lie. it makes no sense for him to lie about one and not the other, undermining the big lie with a little public clue of his story not adding up. whatever else she was as a stepmother, cat wasn't stupid and a bastard who was actually the eldest son being raised alongside her trueborn heir could be an even bigger insult than whether he was born of adultery or not.

BUT, the unknowability of jon's true birthday is not the only reason this annoys me, it's bc this is all based on the assumption that jon must be older since rhaegar/lyanna ran off together before ned married cat, as if both boys must have been conceived asap as robb canonically was when his parents consummated their marriage. and that's not how human reproduction works! even if you don't understand how fast babies grow in the first year, you should know that people who get pregnant do so through ovulation cycles and a lucky sperm finding an egg and all that, not just immediately getting knocked up as soon as one has p-in-v sex for the first time. not unless you only know mean girls sex ed where if you have sex you will get pregnant and die. (even tho lyanna did die, there's plenty of canon examples where pregnancy did not lead straight to death. also examples of people who did not get pregnant right away and even some who are/were sexually active and childless without always having moon tea on hand.) we can't know how long lyanna was having sex before that sperm+egg match happened or even how long she was with rhaegar before losing her technical virginity. if they were married, doesn't it make sense to think they didn't consummate their relationship until the wedding night either? that's the only leverage there is to ensure a status as wife rather than just mistress.

and while i just said grrm doesn't care about exact timelines and a lot is still foggy surrounding the rebellion and esp rhaegar, there is one timemarker wrt robert's rebellion he voluntarily threw in, time and time again: that stannis was besieged at storm's end for almost a whole year. that siege, which mind you, did not match the duration of the entire war. it only started after robert won his battles at gulltown and summerhall, returned to storm's end, and then went out and lost the battle of ashford, leaving his homeland open to the reachermen. the same siege which only ended when ned made a detour there after the sack of king's landing, before going to the toj. even if lyanna may not have given birth that exact day ned found her, she could only be waiting in that bloody bed for weeks at the most, not months. so if rhaegar knocked her up the very same night he carried her off and jon was still a newborn when ned found her after the siege of storm's end had ended, wouldn't that mean lyanna was pregnant for well over a year? that's not how human pregnancy works either! so, maybe that's proof that jon and robb, whichever order they were actually born in, were actually very close in age as babies, much closer than if they were both conceived asap.

and really, jon's actual birthdate does not matter imho, when he was raised not just as the bastard to robb's trueborn heir, but with robb also known by catelyn and the world as ned's firstborn (which he was, in any case, as jon was ned's nephew by birth). what difference could a birthdate before robb's make (even were there some means of discovery) after ned, cat, and robb are all dead? if one is looking only at his birth parents then he's only a firstborn child on lyanna's side, but definitely a second son on rhaegar's side. maybe he was always meant to be a second son with a not much older half-brother! even if the aegon fka young griff is not in fact rhaegar's son, he'll still be known as aegon vi targaryen, meaning jon will never be known as any father's elder son. if i may reference mean girls again, it's not going to happen.

"taerae.. its not what it looks like-" you try desperately to grab your phone out of your boyfriends hands, even though it was too late regardless, he had already seen the text messages between you and your ex. the only problem was the messages were from just yesterday, you don't know what you were thinking when you were texting him back but you didn't think taerae would find them.

taerae widened his eyes a bit as he heard your words "oh its not?" he pulled your screen back up to his face, "because it LOOKS like i want you so bad right now, taerae will be gone all weekend" he read one of the messages out loud that you had sent. "we aren't good for each other anymore, all we do is argue." he looked up at you with his familiar swollen eyes, his entire face red from his tears. and you? you couldn't stop pacing back and forth pretty much biting your finger nails down to the bone it felt like.

"you might hate me but.. i love you." gyuvin admitted through his tears, staring up at you with the prettiest face. and this is why you could never get away from one another, you were addicted to each other. you couldn't help but walk over to gyuvin, resting his head against your stomach from his sitting position, his arms naturally wrapping around you. tears you had been holding back this entire time finally welling up into your eyes.

How did Dogday get feelings for Catnap? I bet it was hard once Catnap went off the deep end…but did he ever feel the same about him before? I imagine they were both at least pretty good friends at one point…

Dogday and Catnap were close since before they were turned into toys. I think kid Dogday (Im considering naming him Oskar) would protect Theo from bullies, and was worried sick when he just dissapeared one day. When they turned into toys, both Dogday and Catnap continued to be sort of close to each other. Catnap was isolated from the other Smiling Critters, and it was Dogday who would drag him to interact with everyone! I think this is when the mutual crush first started. Dogday saw a kind-hearted and shy friend who genuinely wanted to connect with others, while Catnap saw a ray of sunshine dragging him out of his misery corner in order to have him make friends with others.

For Dogday, Catnap was just everything he needed during that time: Someone who listens and is kind, not demanding much from him, much less getting mad at him for not doing things right. Catnap helped calm him down, and Dogday, touch and attention-starved, just caught himself suddenly developing an innocent crush on his best friend.

However, after the Hour of Joy, Catnap spent some time hiding with the Prototype as he taught him how to hunt. When he came back to the Playcare, he had changed. Hardened. He wasnt little Theo anymore, just like how Catnap wasnt little Oskar anymore. One became a hunter, the other, a leader. They clashed many times with Catnap wanting to go after other toys and the Smiling Critters not wanting to kill for their own survival. And when Catnap's religion became bigger than his own logic and morality, the two fell apart.

Below the cut are my thoughts on how their relationship went during the decade and after Angel rescued them!

Catnap did attack some of the Smiling Critters and he did tore off some of their limbs to feed the mini critters and himself. It was either that or starve, at least in his POV. Him crucifying Dogday consisted of him almost begging poor Oskar to quit with his morality and join him and Prototype. He wanted Dogday to listen, and he wanted to be together with his best friend, but tearing someone's stomach and legs off isnt the way to make them listen to you talk about how the guy who put everyone into this mess is the one and only true savior and god.

After Angel arrives at Playcare and saves not only Dogday but Miss Delight and even some of the mini critters, Catnap's world view start to shift, esp with how Angel treats him. "What happened to you?" is one of the first things they say to him, and Catnap, lonely and away from his dad/god and any company asides from the mini critters, just inevitably ends up getting attached to who he now sees as a messiah. This only gets worse after Angel saves Catnap's life.

Dogday... Oh, my poor baby. He DESPERATELY wanted Catnap to quit with the Prototype bullshit and just listen to him. They can hunt others, yes, but they shouldn't be cruel about it. They can confront the Prototype about putting them into this situation, they can leave Playtime Co, they can do anything, but please please please just LISTEN to him and STOP TALKING ABOUT THE PROTOTYPE AS IF HE'S A GOD. Dogday is ready to kill Catnap if necessary during Angel's time at Playcare, mind you, he just doesn't want to do that. And when Catnap is saved, guess who helps Angel treat his wounds? Yup, it's our big puppy.

Dogday feels guilt from letting his friends die, and feels anger at Catnap for helping with their deaths and for crucifying him. He wants Catnap to do better, but he feels like he lost him and will never get him back. And his happiness at seeing Catnap helping Angel is only for a moment, as he realizes Catnap just changed his god for Angel to fit the label.

After they confront Prototype and they leave the factory for good, they're both kind of lost. Catnap deep down knows neither Angel nor Prototype are gods, but what else are they for being able to survive such circumstances? And for Dogday, what else is there in the outside world, now that he feels more alone than ever before because his mind isn't busy with surviving anymore?

And then, BAM, every single Smiling Critter was actually alive. They're both shocked but happy at this, and begin to rekindle their relationship as they both agree that they're the only ones who can actually protect both their old friends and the newfound family they have. Their relationship at this point is two traumatized young adults trying to protect what they have of hope, still getting out of the survival instincts and way of life. They bicker a LOOOOT, but since day 1 from escaping they have sometimes slept next to each other because that's the only way they can fall asleep. They have so many conflicts but they are so much about each other in a way only they can truly understand (and also us but we don't count because we're just readers and players lmao).

With enough weeks passing by, and with enough long nights of these two being close and even playing with each other because they missed the other so much, they start talking. Untangling the mess. Catnap did apologize to Dogday when they were still inside Playtime Co, ofc, and he and Dogday had a moment when they saw the Sun for the first time since they were young children, but two conversations aren't enough to fix +5 years of hurt.

I think the mutual crush smacks them both in the head at the same time during the, like, third month of living with Angel. Sillies gotta be silly right?

Chris was out with his friends tonight, leaving me to try and finish up the housework. After that car accident from a few months ago, I had lost vision in my left eye, and my left leg was still adjusting back to normal. I’m glad Chris was able to get out of the house after all the press he had been doing, things had been tense since he gotten home so i’m happy he’s enjoying himself out there.

Hearing the door slam shut, I limped over to the top of the staircase awaiting to see my boyfriend of 4 years. Only to see he wasn’t alone, nor was he in the right state of mind, neither of them were.

“O-oh” Is all I could make out of my mouth, watching as his hands dragged all over the random woman’s body, their mouths in a dirty battle.

Who could blame him though? I was half blind, couldn’t walk properly and as a result neglected his needs. Swallowing thickly I decided to just leave back to the guest room I was cleaning in, the sobs coming out once I closed door.

Hearing them stumble on the stairs into our shared bedroom I heard him complimenting her with shit like “sexy” calling her the names he used ro call me.

Within minutes I heard the headboard banging against the wall, the sounds of their echoed moans bouncing between the walls, my sobs now stifling to sniffles.

I felt numb. Unloved. Worthless. Helpless.

“God I missed this, you feel so fucking good” O heard him shout all of a sudden, before silence ensued. Minutes went by, until the woman said something,

“That’ll be 200 dollars baby” Her sultry voice said, her heels clicking out in the hallway, the whole situation felt like it had lasted seconds when it reality was about an hour or two. Absolute hell.

“U-uh alright, can we uh, keep this secret” I heard him by the door, his voice now sounding worried.

“Mhm customer confidentiality”

Seconds went by, the front door had opened and closed, Chris now heading back into the bedroom clearly still drunk as I heard things being knocked over.

*Brrr*

My phone started ringing loudly on the guest room table, sitting weakly on the floor I felt numbness overcome my whole body. Hearing hid heavy footfalls approaching the room and pushing the door open; my arms going around to hug myself for support.

“B-babe”

“You don’t get to call me that Chris” He winced, his name coming out harshly, my sadness now turning into complete anger.

“Did you hear all that?”

“Did I fucking hear all that? I fucking saw the start of it too. Seems like you were enjoyin yourself enough anyway, good for you Chris”

I snarked back, trying to stand up when he came over to try and help me up before I pushed him off.

“Don’t touch me”

“It was a mistake, I was drunk and i’m still drunk”

“Well your mistake is fucking shitty, I hope the quick fuck was worth it” Grabbing my phone from the table I attempted to leave the room, his towering stature blocking my way out and holding me by the arms.

“Don’t do this babe, I-I really didn’t mean it. I regretted it straight after I swear. I love you, only you”

“Not enough to keep your dick in your pants clearly” I whispered, my throat closing up again, stopping myself from looking up at him. “I hate that I did this to you, hit me, scream at me, do something”

“No. I’m better than that. Better than you, I don’t need revenge to feel better”

“S-so what’s your plan”

“What any conscious person would do, I’m leaving”

“Wait no, can’t we work past this or something?”

“No we’re clearly not as compatible as we thought we were Chris. This is it over. I can’t bear it. It’s not fair on you or me” Walking successfully past him, I took off the promise ring he had given me and put it into the palm of his hand, he didn’t even try to stop me leaving.

Yup, exactly! And trust, there is no way Harry puts anybody before Ginny. It is very clear in the books that she is the most important person to him. In HBP when Ron is hanging out with them Harry wants Ron to go away and leave them alone. In DH he is with R/Hr 24/7 and pines for Ginny and yearns to talk to Ginny.

I guarantee when GINNY is by his side he is never pining for Ron or Hermione's presence lmao. Ginny is his favorite, it's clear.

The only reason she doesn't know anything about the horcruxes or the prophecy is because Harry wasn't allowed to tell anyone else. It was legit part of the plot that he couldn't tell anyone else and its brought up over and over in the last book. He says he's not allowed to tell anyone else. Dumbledore's orders!

Ron!stans just don't want to admit it because they want to live inside Ron's ass. Also, Ron!stans think Ron favors Harry over Ginny when that isn't true either. It's actually very clear in the last two books how much Ron loves and cares for Ginny. Ron turns on Harry and gets angry at him for exactly TWO people: Hermione and Ginny. Both are more important to him than Harry (but he still loves Harry).

ALSO - Ron never lets anyone disrespect or insult Hermione....except Ginny lol.

In HBP Ginny calls out Hermione and makes fun of her for not understanding Quidditch and Ron is right there and says nothing. THAT is so telling to me. If ANYONE else insulted Hermione (and Harry even comments that Hermione looked hurt and stung), Ron would have shouted them down or hexed them. Ginny insulted Hermione in front of Ron and Ron was totally quiet lmao. That is the only time in the books Hermione gets insulted and Ron is quiet! That shows so much loyalty to Ginny! Because at the end of the day? If his sibling fights with someone else, he is not going to get in the middle. EVEN IF THEY FIGHT WITH HERMIONE.

TL:DR Ron and Harry both care about Ginny more than they care about each other. Hermione is the love of Ron's life yes, but his sister is still very important to him and Ron shows loyalty to Ginny even when she fights with Hermione.

This is so true. I never thought about ginny and hermione' fight in HPB w.r.t. ron but this makes so much sense.

I absolutely agree some ron stans are so annoying esp. on quora. I know hermione had flaws (and Ginny too)but some people just put all the blame on Girls and Harry and behave like ron can never do anything wrong.

Ron is very relatable flawed character( that's why i love him) rather than acknowledging it, they just like to pretend he is perfect. And they can't understand a simple fact siblings can be jerk to each other, it does not mean they hate one another.

The way some fic writers writes "after war" stories is just weird like not acknowledging Ginny's trauma and her role in war.

Ginny running after harry and harry just ignoring her and only hanging out with ron and Hermione. Harry ignoring and treating ginny like a shit is justified because "he is been through alot" and ginny is selfish for demanding anything from harry.

If ginny ever complains her whole family will tell her to stop being childish. Also, molly who has just lost her son will be back and call of harry after the war.

Harry is my favorite character in the series but still isn't this too much?

There is also lots of mysogynistic undertone like molly and hermione manipulating ginny to have a baby because harry wants kids.

Soap

If and whever he does settle down and gets married, he's definitely wearing a kilt at his wedding. And he's probably gonna have the wedding in the countryside of Scotland

He has a BIG family. Like half the people in his hometown are related to him

He got baby fever from being around his baby nieces and nephews, and his friends' kids too

His mother is the absolute sweetest, his father is kinda grumpy (he just needs to warm up to you

Neither of them speak english, they speak with a heavy scot accent. But they genuinely care about you as their son's spouse

He's terrible at playing the bagpipe

He's a heavy sleeper. Like he hibernates and sometimes rolls over on top of you crushing you with his weight. Which would be fine in winter but in the summer? good luck cause he aint moving for another 4 hours

It gets worse when he becomes a dad. he suddenly snores in his sleep and sneezes loud asf

he loves orange cake and angel food. idk he just seems like he'd like it

He likes metal music, esp bands like System of a Down

In the very early 2000s, when Soap was in college, there were students walking around campus with a camera interviewing students about what they want to do after college for a class project. Around the middle beginning of the video you can see young Soap, pre-mohawk, being interviewed and speaking in fluent scottish.

He said something along the lines of wanting to become a famous soccer player and winning the world cup, and his backup plan would be culinary school

The video is still out there somewhere, low quality, and was originally posted on the college website. However, the college he used to go to shut down, the website, along with the video were also gone with it.

But the website was up for a good amount of years before the school shut down, and a few people recall seeing the video before ìt shut down. Meaning there was a window of time where it could have been archived.

Nobody knows where though. People tried to look for it, for reasons not related to soap, creating a very niche community of people looking for a lost interview video tape that is decades old

Meaning that the video of young college student soap being interviewed is considered lost media. And will remain that way until someone can find it somehow

Anyways, he has long forgotten about the video, so he's very oblivious to the fact that there are people out there looking for a video ages old that includes him

He later ended up dropping out of college and joining the military after realizing he has more brawn than brain

He's still sad that his dreams never came to fruition. Dont get him wrong, he loves his co-workers and he prefers his current job over an office job any day, but he wishes he went through with his dreams

He felt like he wasnt smart enough for anything that involved school

his grades in high school really werent the best, just barely enough to get him to graduate

His sibilings were (according to him) more accomplished, one of them being an accountant, another one being a successful lawyer, the other becoming a short story writer.

He eventually learned to accept it within himself, and he knows that the abilities he was born with are normal things to have and are still very useful, and not being booksmart doesnt necessarily make him of any less value

He's still a very important part of the 142 task force, and his co-workers are very grateful to have him on the team. (even Ghost himself said it)

Ghost

He canonically has a nephew and a sister in law, both of which hes never met

He just left his home behind and went to join the military to escape the torment and abuse of his father and brother

The only reason he even know about the existence of his SIL and nephew is through letters that his mother used to send him after he left.

His mother was the only one who ever really cared for him

In fact, he felt so guilty for leaving her behind to deal with the abuse of his dad and his brother. She would always state in her letters how happy she is that he got out

Whenever his dad would go into one of his raging fits she would always try to stop him, but to no avail

Simon was still grateful for her effort. He knew it wasnt her fault

She would mention how his nephew looks so much like him, especially when he was baby.

It made him think about what could've been. Would the kid even want to meet him, let alone want someone like himself as an uncle?

No. is what he always said to himself whenever that question came up in his mind.

Eventually his brother would move away and completely cut contact with his mom, preventing her from seeing her grandson.

She never saw them again after that

One day, he would receive a letter from his mother informing him that his dad finally passed away.

He remembers it vividly, how in that moment he felt nothing but rage. How time suddenly seemed to stop in its tracks, how he wanted nothing but to beat something or someone into a pulp.

He's not angry because he died

The fucker died in his sleep

Way too peaceful for a piece of shit like him. He's angry because the man who made him and his mother suffer for years got to go out the easy way when he should have been suffering in his final moments

it was just unfair

His mom would also send cards on holidays or his birthday

But the letters along with the cards would be sent less and less often, until eventually they stop completely

He finds out later that his mother had died due to some terminal illness.

He should have seen it coming. in the last letter she had sent, she kept stating how much she loves him and how much she wants to see him.

It was her saying goodbye, and he didnt even realize it

She never mentioned it in any of the letters because she didnt want him to worry about her

He was so lost and devastated. No tears would come out when he tried to cry

He'd become more violent and aggressive during combat on missions as a form of release

People around him were concerned, but none bothered to talk to him. He was too intimidating. Even if he wasnt he wouldn't open up to anyone about such a sensitive topic

He still misses his mom dearly every day. He mourns her every year on mother's day and her birthday

As a (much healtheir) way to cope, he'd write his feelings down and details about his day in the form of letters to his mom. Letters that will never be sent

He ended up tracking down where her gravesite was, and went to visit her.

He stayed there for a while. Just...standing at her gravestone, unable to say anything

He contemplated tracking down his brother and beating the living shit out of him since hes much stronger now. He decided it wasnt worth it and went back to base

He'd visit his mom's grave and leave flowers, sometimes He'd clean her gravestone if he finds that its dirty

At some point he just started talking to her. He found it relaxing

He has a little sister who is in college studying biomedical science!

His other sister is studying oncology, shes hoping to be able to discover and research more about rare cancers

His younger brother swears up and down he's gonna be a famous athlete one day

This man absolutely loves his mother and would die for her, same thing with his sibilings

He vists them as often as he can, bringing his sibilings their favorite snacks and a gift for his mom, every single time

He has vivid memories of his childhood with his sibilings

He clearly remembers walking to the store when he was little, holding his mom's hand the whole time while looking around

At the time it used to be a routine that she would buy him his favorite candy on the way out when she's done buying groceries, and she would do the same for his sibilings

Him and his younger sister (the 2nd oldest, the one who's studying oncology. Their other younger sister was always excluded because she was too young they didnt wanna babysit while they were out with their friends lol) were trouble makers

During the summers they would somehow convince their mom (after a lot of begging, ofc) to let them go out to the small convenience store by themselves to buy snacks

They would go on their bikes, which should take less time to get to there since its right new their house, but they just kept goofing around

Alejandro always ends up buying everything other than snacks

His sister is always like "Okay but if you get hungry dont expect me to share my snacks with you"

He steals them from her anways lmaooo

At the store Alejandro would buy more useless but weird toys from the front register, like sticky hands, those yo-yos with the roll of gum in em, tiny toy soldiers, and most importantly, firecrackers

Alejandro as a kid had a very weird obsession with firecrackers

Whenever he played with the neighborhood kids he'd bring the box of firecrackers with him, in the front pocket of his shorts (he will never again make the mistake of leaving them in his back pocket or the basket on his bike as they were always missing when it was time to go back home)

He'd try to get his friends to come out of their house to go play outside by throwing firecrackers outside their house

big mistake because one of them had a big ass dog chained near the backyard and he started barking loud as hell and almost jumped him.

One summer, during a dry heat, Alejandro and his sister were hanging about outside, and he was throwing firecrackers at random directions out of boredom. One of them landed on someone's dry lawn and it popped, started smoking, and eventually started a fire on their lawn

Alejandro and his sister never booked it home so fast in their lives. their legs were cramping from going so fast on their bikes

As a little kid, he was put in church choir, maybe also music lessons?

At their house, theres a framed picture of little Alejandro, around 5 or 6 years old, standing in the living room dressed up in a suit that was slightly too big for him with a big ass bowtie, as he was about to go and sing in church

Also near that photo, is an ofrenda for their father, with candles put around it which were lit occasionally by their mother

Every Dia de los Muertos they will put their late father's favorite foods on it, along with sugar skulls, tamales, pan de muerto, and some flowers.

All food that is put on his ofrenda is made by their mother from scratch with the help of the kids, every single year year.

Even to this day, even when they're adults, they all chip in to help out their mom make the food. It brings them closer together as a family

When Alejandro was a teen, he saved up some money to go buy a cassette player (im really not sure how old he is nor do i know what else besides cassette players and ipods they used to play music so bare with me for a sec) and his mom made him share it with his sibilings since they didnt have enough money to buy one for everyone

he was pretty stingy about sharing it. was absolutely pissed when his youngest sister ended up losing it

he always loved exploring random abandoned places, like abandoned asylums and whatnot, especially with his friends

He ended up seeing some spooky shit that terrified him from going back for a while

eventually his mom found out, and her absolutely HATING anything to do with spirits and ghosts, she forbid him from exploring abandoneded places. Also because shes obviously concerned for his safety

He had a pretty good childhood on the opposite side of England that ghost used to live in

He was very out going in primary school, had lots of friends

he lost a lot of them by the time he entered middle school and high school though

He has a younger brother whom he always used to destroy at video games. like every single time he'd beat his ass in a 1v1

He'd sometimes eat his leftovers just cause

They rough house and wrestle a lot, especially when they were younger. when they got older they eventually evolved to just doing basic arm wrestling lmaoo

When Kyle was younger, when his mom was away at work his dad used to take him out to the coffee shop and he'd always, always get a juice or chocolate milk drink

Sometimes they'd go to the park and he'd take his soccer ball with him, and they'd just play soccer in the grass

Or sometimes they'd go get ice cream

When his brother was born, they did the same thing, but him also being pretty young at the time, was jealous thinking that his dad's attention was being stolen from him by a baby

Little kyle ended up absolutely loving his baby brother and would adamantly refuse to go anywhere without him

"I told you they'd get along, it was just a matter of time" Said his mom one day to his dad, while they were in the car, driving home from a restaurant. him and his younger brother were in the back, sitting their booster seats fast asleep.

"I guess you were right then. How do you do that?" replied the dad with a smile, looking over at his wife sitting next to him. "i know them like the back of my hand" she said, smiling back, looking at her sons through the rear view mirror sleeping soundly in the back

Kyle and his little brother used to be best friends, like there was a time where they became inseparable

As they grew older, as kyle became a young adult and his brother became a teen, they started growing apart

Eventually Kyle went into the military, despite protests from his parents, who were deathly afraid of something happening to him during service

He still kept in touch with them, he would occasionally set up a skype video call and they'd all talk for hours about everything

Him and his brother would play online multiplayer games together from time to time.

Their relationship isnt what it used to be, but its still there. Neither of them seems to want to address it

At some point in high school, Kyle had his first love

He loved her more than anything, she made him feel so happy and loved, and it felt like his heart was about to explode with hoe much love he harbored for her

But, he would also end up experiencing his first hearbreak, and him having no prior experience with relationships, it broke him

He spiraled into a deep depression. He thought he had done everything he could to please her and make her happy, and in the end it still wasnt enough

He wasted so many hours and days of his life wondering why, what he could have done wrong to make her leave him

He eventually learned it was a waste of time trying to find the reason why, and just accepted it as a part of life, and moved on

He still hopes that deep down that she would come back and they could have a second chance at a relationship, but in the meanwhile he's trying to focus on himself

His relationship with his family, his co-workers, working on himself, whether it was physically or mentally.

He hopes one day he will find the right person for him, someone who sees him and efforts as enough. Someone who can appreciate him and whom he can appreciate back

On another note, he always wanted to go to college to study astronomy or astrophysics, or something along those lines. He always had an avid love and fascination for space

Unfortunately, he's more english and history smart, rather than math and science smart

He's good at english and history, but he finds those subjects boring and wishes he was really good at math and science.

i hear i had a choice to do this for a/b!anthony and/or canon!anthony but lbr everyone knows canon!anthony (for these two questions esp (in hindsight i realised that some of the other questions listed might be interesting for canon!anthony bc they're kinda headcanon-ey)) and canon!anthony isn't really... mine per se, SO.

2. What is/was your character’s relationship with their mother like?

With Violet: I think he liked her, I mean he (atm) last saw her when he was 2 years old. And he's her firstborn, so. She probably spoiled him a healthy amount :P But then when Benedict was born, she probably paid him more attention for a while so Anthony went through a (imo) very natural jealous stage

ETA: after he meets her again and she realises who he is, I think she's just gonna smotherrrr him with affection and not want to let him out of her sight, and he's just gonna be like, uhhhh (and... etc, lost as well, and... lots more things I haven't considered yet bc i'm not up to it. but he's ... probably gonna be so angry at his adoptive parents for a while? but he also doesn't really have anyone to turn to, exactly? like, he hardly knows violet, and him and benedict are... also going through it...... in a different way.................. lmao)

With his adoptive mum... who iirc I am calling Jo??? I haven't even written her yet bc I haven't got up to her or written the flashbacks haha: I think he really loves her. And she really loves him. (This is before he finds out that they (she and his adoptive dad) kinda hid him from his real parents.)

Ummm I think she took care of him really well when they were on the ship, she was the cook so... I think she had him in the kitchen with her, and once he stopped being upset about his real mum and dad/forgot about them, he started helping out. And his mum also sorta picked up recipes from the different countries they travelled to and started cooking different cuisines because Anthony tried food from whatever country they docked in and then decided that he wanted more of that when they left (e.g. he likes Indian food).

I think the day he forgot his real parents and called her mum, she would've been really happy. (This is after they tried to return him to Edmund, but Edmund got the note too late of where the ship would be docking on the way to finally leaving England for a few years, so from Anthony and his adoptive parents' perspective, Edmund didn't want him because he didn't show up, so his adoptive parents were quite angry/upset for him/'well we'll take care of him then!' and Anthony ofc was distraught when Edmund didn't turn up to take him home (because it's just further proof that they didn't want him/preferred his new baby brother (happily, he kinda forgets this trauma, but he gains a fear of abandonment :P)))

I think Anthony finds out fairly soon that his mum is trans (like when you're all sleeping in one big room (I presume) in hammocks, and Anthony is probably sharing a hammock with his mum, welllll) but he doesn't realise until he's 5 or 6 that if both his (adoptive) parents are biologically male, then he must be adopted

Ummm. When he realises that his parents have this goal of saving enough money so that they can stay in England permanently and have a shop (that sells art supplies), he starts working on the ship (when he's about 7 i think)

(Somewhere along the way, the art shop idea evolves... because they're trying to make it profitable, and Anthony's adoptive dad is an artist (painter (for the ships) originally) so it becomes a publishing company for children's books mainly, with illustrations by his dad)

His mum is good with money. And hmm maaaybe with languages too since they're translating some of the fairytales from different countries by themselves. But I'm not sure about that yet. I haven't really thought about it because I haven't gotten up to it :P But yeah his mum IS good with money/business-minded/kinda ends up running the shop

Iirc I think I said somewhere in one of the earlier chapters that she's the best out of the three of them re sailing/rowing and Anthony learnt both of those things from her (and from other people on the ship ofc)

At some point when they're back in England, his mum sees the ~missing posters for Anthony Bridgerton with a reward if he's found, and she (and his dad) know that he's a Bridgerton (because 2y/o Anthony told them) but ofc Anthony has since forgotten. And since there's a monetary reward for finding Anthony, plus Edmund didn't show up all those years ago, his mum's just like, we are NOT giving up our son for money/to people who don't even really want him!!!

Later on, Anthony starts asking questions about his biological parents, and his mum says they adopted him from an orphanage in London as a baby and that his real parents didn't want him (1/3 true (from their perspective) lol). And later when they're living in England permanently and Anthony starts looking for info on his biological parents in the orphanages, she gets kinda pissed off/scared about it/scared he'll find out he's a Bridgerton somehow, so Anthony learns not to tell her about it (or his dad) and continues looking in secret

Re Anthony going to Harrow, I... think it was probably his mum who was very determined that he get a good education. Like, to her, education is important, and she kinda instilled that in Anthony. (I think Anthony must've had some lessons from someone educated on the ship, maybe a passenger, orrrr... huh idk, HUHHHH no i just had a thought, maybe his mum is a bit more on the middle/upper middle class side than working class?? but she (well, probably he* at that point) wanted to marry a working class guy so her family disowned her, maybe... ANYWAY (that could work actually!! Basically I need Anthony attending Harrow on a scholarship))

(just gonna say that upper middle class people (or middle class people) from places that aren't london/kent/(bath?) don't know/haven't heard of the bridgertons~)

Anywayyyy, so re Harrow, because his mum was so keen for him to attend, he doesn't tell her he's getting bullied. I am not sure if he holds it against her....... because he knows that this is important too. Hmmmm. Idk

Anyway. Fast forward to Oxford. He does love her. And thennNNNNN when he finds out he's a Bridgerton (and that she didn't tell him he's in a relationship with his biological brother when he introduces Benedict to his family HAHAHHkfjdhfkkfkgf but like, how can you tell that without giving the entire thing away? skjngkSJDNKGJ)

With Edmund: idolised him, just like in canon. Idk why but I headcanon lots of piggyback rides/lil Anthony sitting on his shoulders skfjgnk. (maybe it was mentioned in the book? iirc it was?? hskjfkf) And... Edmund trying to teach him things like how to be a good person/a gentleman even when he was like, 2 years old, and them spending a lot of time together. And then Benedict is born and Edmund is a bit busy with him for a while, naturally, so then Anthony gets kinda clingy with him/wanting more of his time again. Normal stuff imo.

I think... maybe the day he lost (?) Anthony/Anthony went missing, ... I have written a bit of this, but I got bored lol, so maybe I should change it, but they were kinda near the docks looking at the (at the time) biggest ship built so far, or at least, just a very big ship. Maybe Anthony had a ship phase and Edmund indulged him :3

With his adoptive dad who I STILL haven't named skjfngkfg: he's a painter for the ships, which is why he (and Jo) was even at the London docks (because the London docks don't take passengers afaik...). Anyway, Anthony obviously loves him too. They're just really nice people?? Apart from the whole... sorta stealing Anthony bit... lol

Umm so yeah he starts out as a painter but he draws/paints/watercolours on the side, and he's very chill. Once they get the shop in England, he can like, lose daysss in the studio just painting something.

Idk why but I feel like he's painted lil Anthony's face before like you do with kids, where they get like a tiger's face, and then Anthony goes around pretending to be a tiger for a day

(I think when they go fishing, they go as a family (all three of them))

I feel like his adoptive dad's a bit more chill about Anthony asking about his biological parents (his mum's more like, omg stop asking!!) but still also guarded.

Anyway, yeah! I don't have much about him yet apparently SKJDNKGJFKG

ETA: Anthony is probably gonna resent his adoptive parents later for... well, several things lmao, but probably the main thing will be for... well, lying to him, not so much keeping him from his real parents. After all he doesn't know them. But he hates that he was lied to :( (Also maybe there'd later be some regret that because he was lied to, he never got to talk to/get to know Edmund?)

when ranpo gets home, he’s pouty. he kicks his shoes off his feet, not even bothering to care when one hits the wall, leaving a little scuff mark in its place.

walking home with you is supposed to be his favorite part of the day; it’s cold out, so he knows you would’ve held his hand in your pocket while he told you about his cases, and he would’ve insisted on warming up with cuddles and his favorite hot chocolate mix. instead, you texted him that you wouldn’t be able to pick him up after all, and he gets stuck being chaperoned by atsushi, who is far less interesting than you. he doesn’t hold his hand, he doesn’t compliment him the right way, and he definitely doesn’t kiss his nose to warm it up like you would have.

he tries to keep his pout, ready to milk your empathy for as much as much affection as he can, but his lips can’t help but twitch upwards when he hears your “welcome home!” from the kitchen.

“i’m sorry i didn’t pick you up, i lost track of time. but i made dinner!” you’ve just finished plating it when he comes around the corner. “and i baked you something special, too!”

he already knows you made brownies; they’re his favorite, after all. he’d eat them for every meal if you’d let him. ignoring the obvious, lingering chocolate smell, he can see the cocoa powder smudged on your apron and the batter-spotted mixing bowl in the sink.

if you were anyone else, he wouldn’t hesitate to tell you that of course he knows you made brownies, and it was foolish of you to think he wouldn’t. but you’re you, waiting for him to join you at the table with a pretty smile and his favorite dinner, made just for him. he can’t find it in himself to say anything besides a quiet i love you so much, mumbled into your hair as he makes his way to his seat.

he plops down at the table, not hesitating to grab his chopsticks and start eating. it’s amazing, and he tells you so around his mouthfuls of food as you wipe the pieces of rice stuck to his cheeks away.

“wher’re you goin’?” he doesn’t bother to swallow, already on his second serving, before asking when you start push back from the table.

“i have to clean up the mess in the kitchen,” you pick your plate. “plus, i baked you a surprise, remember?”

“you’re leaving me again?” he curls his ankle around the leg of your chair, pulling you back in. “no fair. i miss you. and i miss my kisses, too!”

you lean over and kiss his nose; he’s warm, but it still makes him shiver. “i’ll bring you back a brownie, okay?”

he grins, grabbing your cheeks to fully kiss your lips. “mkay! i guess i can forgive you after all!”
