Slightly unhinged Tech theories brought to you by:
1. How stupidly open Star Wars canon is.
2. An extremely stubborn form of optimism.
3. That red herrings only work if the real answer is more satisfying than the distraction, and the fact is that not only did we not get any answer AT ALL, but no one involved will actually straight up say it was a misdirect or what we were being misdirected from or even acknowledge there being any direction at all, meaning it was either the worldâs most badly executed red herring, or it wasnât a red herring at all/we just donât have the actual answer yet.
4. The fact that Tech isnât a real person, heâs an idea, meaning I donât have to accept jack shit. Especially when canon has done so little to actually convince me heâs gone for good and itâs so markedly different than every other loss in the show.
#the bad batch#tech lives#Iâm sorry I know Iâm probably being annoying about this#one thing that would be really funny#if it turns out we were right about Tech coming back but wrong on the timeline#(whether the timeline was always longer or whether the timeline got moved)#is if everyone involved just hoped no one would notice any of the hints#or any of the foreshadowing#or any of the whatever with CX-2#until after they actually bring him back#not that people wouldnât notice but that theyâd be too deep in their feels#about plan 99#and too set in the âtech is goneâ paradigm#to do anything but blip over all of that#and write it off as coincidence#because thatâs the thing: if you were convinced by the falling scene itself#you are going to blip over anything that might hint otherwise#because it doesnât fit#same visa versa#except in terms of scale#except that a lot of people did notice because we were desperate#I think if nothing else they vastly underestimated the depth of the reaction#and how hard people would be looking for clues

Bruce gets hit with a spell that makes his outward appearance reflect how he thinks of himself.
Most of the JL is stunned, his kids are unruffled because at least his consciousness is in his own body, and Clark realizes a couple of things about himself.
#batman#bruce wayne#superman#superbat#jl#batkids#batfam#i think it would be tragic for bruce to think of himself as monstrous like how he considers himself the night or whatever#and the JL kinda play into that because they donât know him that well some people take it as confirmation (hal)#but his kids donât even blink. theyâre like yeah thatâs still dad idk if heâs eldritch now thatâs no excuse to miss my dance recital#(or they have no idea and are shocked except alfred who has been trying to help bruce since he was a kid but it doesnât seem to stick)#but clark? yeah he realizes heâs still dtf. literally doesnât care what bruce looks like heâs still bruce#does he turn into a giant bat? something like harvey with melted skin? is he pitch black? long fangs and razor claws? sharp scales?#doesnât matter to clark. thatâs still bruce. still has the mind and personality he fell in love with.#it would be hilarious for bruce to be all doom and gloom âiâm a monsterâ and the JL to go maybe???#only for his kids to be like eh but youâre still dad and for clark to go eh youâre still mine#bruce watching clark come to terms with his love of bruce in all forms. yes. Retconned Wardi firearms- a basic handgun, a highly decorative ceremonial handgun (belonging to Faiza), and a lance-gun.
Gun tech has officially been nerfed down to hand cannons (press F) (this has been a long time coming but I'd been fallacy of sunk costs-ing myself out of retconning).
Handguns are held similarly to a shotgun, with the butt pressed into the user's shoulder, one hand gripping under the barrel, and the other free to ignite the gunpowder. These represent the most advanced firearms in contemporary usage, both in make and in their use of uniform iron projectiles built to match the gun's bore for greater range and efficiency. Lance-guns are the more basal form, usually larger and mounted with the pole held over the shoulder, and are most effectively used by two people (one to hold and aim, one to light the gunpowder).
The spread of firearms is currently mostly limited to the Eastern Inner Seaway peoples (with some additional distribution via overland trade), and actual manufacture of hand cannons and gunpowder at Significant scale is limited to the region's core powers.
The reason for this limited spread is partially due to specific elements of the technology's history. Gunpowder was first synthesized by Burri alchemists and considered to be the discovery of the legendary divine weapon + solar fire of the deity Inanariya, and its formula (along with techniques for ideally refining its components) remained a closely guarded state secret. It was used predominantly in priestly contexts to generate flame and explosive sounds (in conjunction with earlier practices of generating multicolored flames with use of other chemicals), then integrated into combustible weaponry in the forms of fire lances, which would eventually develop into early handcannons.
The treatment of gunpowder as a guarded sacred or semi-sacred substance continued with Wardi adoption, where knowledge of its making is considered a closed rite. It's name (inya tsatsul or just tsatsul, a derived adoption of the Burri iñazatsƫya) still reflects a divine solar association (the Burri word means 'sun's thunder', the Wardi 'inya' invokes the sun, 'tsatsul' is an adapted loanword and has no meaning independent of the substance itself), though its priestly use is now predominantly associated with the firearm'ed Odonii (rather than priests of the solar Face Inyamache). The composition of gunpowder can no longer be regarded as a Secret by any means, though efforts to obscure the methods of its creation are still moderately successful and has kept knowledge of gunpowder manufacture more limited than the total sphere of firearm usage itself.
The actual strongest limiting factor of firearm usage is the rarity of natural saltpeter deposits necessary for making gunpowder. The practice of actively producing saltpeter via nitraries has not been developed anywhere in the setting, and all is instead obtained via natural sources. These sources are rare and limited within the current spread of firearm technology, and result in gunpowder being a limited and expensive substance to produce. The weapons themselves are also very expensive to manufacture (a good quality steel SWORD is far too material-cost prohibitive for most people to own), particularly high quality firearms designed for use with standardized ammunition.
These guns are also very basal, and logistical difficulties in their use (weight, very slow loading and firing speed, high visibility, Relatively low reach and accuracy) along with the restrictive cost of production has kept firearms far from rendering conventional weaponry, armor, and projectiles obsolete (even within the societies that have access to them). They are still, however, very devastating in use within their contemporary context, particularly in that high quality guns have a longer range than the best arrow-based projectiles, and utterly negate most contemporary forms of armor at close range.
#I'd consider the setting to be like.....most closely analogous to like 3rd-1st century BCE earth (in terms of the average scale of#societies + Most of its technology (aside from major exceptions like this) + trade interconnectivity)#There are VERY few Very Big states capable of mass-manufacturing and resource extraction (like nothing the size of#the Roman empire has Ever existed in this setting. The biggest empires aren't even close. Cynozepal has a pretty massive territorial#span so is probably the closest thing but its actual control is highly fragmented along disconnected central hubs)#There's significant seaway trade connections but the Vast majority of transmission of goods is localized (even moreso over land)#So point being firearms have developed '''''earlier''''''' than in IRL history but the conditions that enabled very rapid spread are#not really present (though it's fairly inevitable that they'll become widespread over the next few centuries)#Also the likely trajectory of adaptation is going to be the development of Plate armor (which could absorb/block shots#from some types of firearms More advanced than these).#The types of armor used in this particular region is mostly lamellar/scale/padded fabric/leather and rarely involves#full body protection (using a shield to compensate) so developing thicker and fully protective armor would be the next logical#step in the arms race#I think it would be a fun constructed history for armor technology to outpace these simple firearms enough that they end up largely#abandoned in favor of re-specializing in close combat but I don't really care to plan out the far future that much

the âmurder is bad and usually causes more problems than solutionsâ moral fixation within me vs the âthat bitch (UHC ceo) contributed to the death of millions and financial ruin of millions more. that direct action was beautiful and has brought awareness to UHCâs chokehold on US healthcare. itâs knocked fear into insurance corporations and billionairesâ cage match is forcing me to hold a little nuance and remorse for how much I wanna celebrate that assassination, but also, that particular CEO is near the top of my list of people that donât deserve that remorse
I donât have meaningful influence on the situation as a whole so im honestly just riding with it and enjoying the memes and thoroughly appreciating the revolutionary impacts of this and secretly hoping this makes medicaid more willing to just hit âapproveâ on my testosterone prescription without any fight in 9 days. I scheduled that appointment at the perfect time I think
Iâve been following and learning about how UHC in particular has its tendrils in fucking over and controlling every aspect of US healthcare â regardless of if you have any coverage with themâ for at least 3 years now. you need to know that UHC directly employees over 10% of US physicians. they buy and own entire hospital networks, and the same for pharmacies. not just that, they are a pharmacy benefits managerâ PBMs control the reimbursement to pharmacies when prescriptions are covered. and at least for independent pharmacies in particular, they charge fees for that reimbursement service. the fees apply to nearly all prescriptions, they frequently cost more than the reimbursement itself, and can be taken back months after the reimbursement. thatâs a lot of why independent pharmacies struggle, many that have been open for decades are closing, newer ones donât last
UHC as a corporation is probably THE singular most influential private entity contributing to how the US healthcare system is rapidly degrading from an already unlivable state, at least in my opinion. being strongly interested about health justice (and doing on-the-ground campaigning when feasible for me) I keep up with this stuff, even if only loosely during hard times. UHC is an entity I make a point to keep an eye on, honestly only overshadowed by keeping up with public entities such as Medicaid and Medicare and how their funding and operations fluctuate and are legislated
#beaztboxing#there are other entities I keep an eye on too. but UHC is the top of the private entity list in terms of priority to watch#i donât talk about it much. at least not on tumblr anymore. but for once I feel qualified and educated on a current event like this#I generally limit my commentary to reflecting on personal and extremely local experiences#things I have a lot of firsthand experience with#and elaborating and providing alternative communication on the STEM side of things particularly biology#health justice is kinda an exception because I keep up with it on a lot wider scale#and this happens to be one piece Iâve kept myself informed on#hope the information I share isnât outdated. any that is probably got worse not better

An open letter to @staff
I already submitted this to Support under "Feedback," but I'm sharing it here too as I don't expect it to get a response, and I feel like putting in out in public may be more effective than sending it off into the void.
The recent post on the Staff blog about changing tumblr to an algorithmic feed features a large amount of misinformation that I feel staff needs to address, openly and honestly, with information on where this data was sourced at the very least.
Claim 1: Algorithms help small creators.
This is false, as algorithms are designed to push content that gets engagement in order to get it more engagement, thereby assuring that the popular remain popular and the small remain small except in instances of extreme luck.
This can already be seen on the tumblr radar, which is a combination of staff picks (usually the same half-dozen fandoms or niche special interests like Lego photography) which already have a ton of engagement, or posts that are getting enough engagement to hit the radar organically. Tumblr has an algorithm that runs like every other socmed algorithm on the planet, and it will decimate the reach of small creators just like every other platform before it.
Claim 2: Only a small portion of users utilize the chronological feed.
You can find a poll by user @darkwood-sleddog here that at the time of writing this, sits at over 40 THOUSAND responses showing that over 96 percent of them use the chronological feed*. Claiming otherwise isn't just a misstatement, it's a lie. You are lying to your core userbase and expecting them to accept it as fact. It's not just unethical, it's insulting to people who have been supporting your platform for over a decade.
Claim 3: Tumblr is not easy to use.
This is also 100% false and you ABSOLUTELY know it. Tumblr is EXTREMELY easy to use, the issue is that the documentation, the explanations of features, and often even the stability of the service is subpar. All of this would be very easy for staff to fix, if they would invest in the creation of walkthroughs and clear explanations of how various site features work, as well as finally fixing the search function. Your inability to explain how your service works should not result in completely ignoring the needs and wants of your core long-term userbase. The fact that you're more willing to invest in the very systems that have made every other form of social media so horrifically toxic than in trying to make it easier for people to use the service AS IT WORKS NOW and fixing the parts that don't work as well speaks volumes toward what tumblr staff actually cares about.
You will not get a paycheck if your platform becomes defunct, and the thing that makes it special right now is that it is the ONLY large-scale socmed platform on THE ENTIRE INTERNET with a true chronological feed and no aggressive algorithmic content serving. The recent post from staff indicates that you are going to kill that, and are insisting that it's what we want. It is not. I'd hazard to guess that most of the dev team knows it isn't what we want, but I assume the money people don't care. The user base isn't relevant, just how much money they can bring in.
The CEO stated he wanted this to remain as sort of the last bastion of the Old Internet, and yet here we are, watching you declare you intend to burn it to the ground.
You can do so much better than this.
Response to the Update
Under the cut for readability, because everything said above still applies.
I already said this in a reblog on the post itself, but I'm adding it to this one for easy access: people read it that way because that's what you said.
Staff considers the main feed as it exists to be "outdated," to the point that you literally used that word to describe it, and the main goals expressed in this announcement is to figure out what makes "high-quality content" and serve that to users moving forward.
People read it that way because that is what you said.
*The final results of the poll, after 24 hours:
136,635 votes breaks down thusly:
An algorithm based feed where I get "the best of tumblr." @ 1.3% (roughly 1,776 votes)
Chronological feed that only features blogs I follow. @ 95.2% (roughly 130,077 votes)
This doesn't affect me personally. @ 3.5% (roughly 4,782 votes)

This is a semi spinoff of this post, but really its own thought.
When a job pays less than a living wage, it generally attracts one of two types of employees:
Desperate people (usually poor and/or otherwise marginalized or with barriers to employment), who will take any job, no matter how bad, because they need the money, or
Independently wealthy people (usually well-off retirees, students being supported by their families, or women with well-off husbands*), who don't care about the pay scale because they don't need the money anyway.**
And sometimes, organizations will intentionally keep a job low-paying or non-paying with the deliberate intent of narrowing their pool to that second category.
People sometimes bring this up when discussing the salaries of elected officials -- yes, most politicians are paid more than most "regular people," but they're not paid enough to sustain the expensive lifestyle politicians have to maintain, and that's on purpose. It's not an oversight, and it's not primarily about cost-cutting. It's a deliberate barrier to ensure that only rich people can run for office.
The same is true, albeit to less severe effect, of unpaid internships -- the benefit of "hiring" an unpaid intern isn't (just) that you don't have to pay them; it's also that you can ensure that all your workers are rich, or at least middle-class.
When nonprofits brag about how little of their budget goes to "overhead" and "salaries", as if those terms were synonymous with "waste," what they're really saying is "All our employees are financially comfortable enough that they don't worry about being underpaid. Our staff has no socioeconomic diversity, and probably very little ethnic or cultural diversity." ***
This isn't a secret. I'm not blowing anything wide open here. People very openly admit that they think underpaid workers are better, because they're "not in it for the money." This is frequently cited as a reason, for example, that private school teachers are "better" than public school teachers -- they're paid less, so they're not "in it for the money," so they must be working out of the goodness of their hearts. I keep seeing these cursed ads for a pet-sitting service where the petsitters aren't paid, which is a selling point, because they're "not in it for the money."
"In it for the money" is the worst thing a worker could be, of course. Heaven forbid they be so greedy and entitled and selfish as to expect their full-time labor to enable them to pay for basic living expenses. I get this all the time as a public library worker, when I point out how underfunded and underpaid we are. "But... you're not doing it for the money, right?" And I'm supposed to laugh and say "No, no, I'd do it for free, of course!"
Except, see, I have these pesky little human needs, like food. And I can't get a cart full of groceries and explain to the cashier that I don't have any money, but I have just so much job satisfaction!
And it's gendered, of course it's gendered. The subtext of "But you're not doing it for the money, of course" is "But how much pin money do you really need, little lady? Doesn't your husband give you a proper allowance?"
Conceptually, it's just an extension of the upper-class cultural norm that "polite" (rich) people "don't talk about money" (because if you have to think about how much money you have or how much you need, you're insufficiently rich).
*Gendered language very much intentional.
**Disabled people are more likely to be in the first category (most disabled people are poor, and being disabled is expensive), but are usually talked about as if they're in the second category. We're told that disabled people sorting clothing for $1.03 an hour are "So happy to be here" and "Just want to be included," and it's not like they need the money, since, as we all know, disability benefits are ample and generous [heavy sarcasm].
***Unless, of course, they're a nonprofit whose "mission" involves "job placement," in which case what they're saying is "We exploit the poor and desperate people we're purporting to help." Either way, "We pay our employees like crap" is nothing to brag about.

THE NEW YORK TIMES instructed journalists covering Israelâs war on the Gaza Strip to restrict the use of the terms âgenocideâ and âethnic cleansingâ and to âavoidâ using the phrase âoccupied territoryâ when describing Palestinian land, according to a copy of an internal memo obtained by The Intercept. The memo also instructs reporters not to use the word Palestine âexcept in very rare casesâ and to steer clear of the term ârefugee campsâ to describe areas of Gaza historically settled by displaced Palestinians expelled from other parts of Palestine during previous IsraeliâArab wars. The areas are recognized by the United Nations as refugee camps and house hundreds of thousands of registered refugees.
The Times memo outlines guidance on a range of phrases and terms. âThe nature of the conflict has led to inflammatory language and incendiary accusations on all sides. We should be very cautious about using such language, even in quotations. Our goal is to provide clear, accurate information, and heated language can often obscure rather than clarify the fact,â the memo says. âWords like âslaughter,â âmassacreâ and âcarnageâ often convey more emotion than information. Think hard before using them in our own voice,â according to the memo. âCan we articulate why we are applying those words to one particular situation and not another? As always, we should focus on clarity and precision â describe what happened rather than using a label.â Despite the memoâs framing as an effort to not employ incendiary language to describe killings âon all sides,â in the Times reporting on the Gaza war, such language has been used repeatedly to describe attacks against Israelis by Palestinians and almost never in the case of Israelâs large-scale killing of Palestinians.

super soldiers!141 x new to the unit!reader | this is dumb and poorly written, i'm sorry, just needed to get it out my mind
thinking about a sci-fi, future-ish au where human soldiers became sort of a social experiment on a large scale after machine soldiers have proven to be inefficient against certain âthreatsâ because of their lack of motivation, incentives. purpose. machines needed things to make sense, they couldnât be encouraged to do some tasks. they would follow orders, of course, but they â for themselves â were not ethical at all.Â
machines didnât care if it was a child, a man, a woman or an animal, if it was their target they were going to put it down at any cost and that caused problems. a lot of different problems throughout their years of usage. especially if a mission needed fast changing of target. but they were a single mind distributed in countless bodies of wires and hard plastic, and that was their biggest strength. if one knew, they all knew. if one was given an order, all the others knew what it was and what should be done to reach it. it was visceral, a core knowledge that no human was capable of achieving by natural means â of course.Â
so the government started to support the return of human soldiers on field, with the exception that they required new training, one to make them more united, more like one living force. they also had to work within a task force â the fewer people in a group, the better. in the first two years of this change of scenario, higher ranked soldiers started making their own task forces in order to choose the people that they worked more in sync with, and proceed through training to get them all to feel in synch as well â until the whole group felt like there was no doubt ever, just pure certain and mutual understanding.
after a sufficient number of task forces were completed and started to act on the field again, it became clear that intense training wasnât enough. they kept running tests to understand exactly what these soldiers were lacking to improve their performance. after a few months scientists developed a new device, one that should answer their remaining questions. it was an extremely small piece of technology that was injected into the soldiers and that allowed them to communicate better â they needed fewer and fewer words to understand one another. of course, that didnât really last long until they became obsolete and were replaced by new ones.
that technology kept on evolving until, a few years after, a special type of âdeviceâ was achieved. it half worked like a hormone in the human body â heightened senses mostly, that allowed an insane capacity to deeply understand things in a visceral matter. some people suspected it was made from specific DNA traits of animals highly skilled in things that mattered in the military â like hunting â, but in reality no one really questioned what it was. the results were all very natural â as far as they could possibly be in human terms. it worked, and that was all that mattered. it was almost totally customized, the injectable liquid had a different composition depending on what it was that the task force needed to improve as a whole. everyone in the same group received the same sample, they weren't repeated because it changed accordingly with the task force.
the truth is that task force 141 never really needed any of this shit, since day one they were a highly effective unit in all matters. with a total of five years in and out of test devices, they one hundred percent relied on their personal interaction â as any other unit should do. to say that they had each other's back was a total understatement, they completely trusted each other in an extremely vulnerable way. of course it required a deep amount of reliance to reach that, but they had come a long way anyway â with all the training plus the training with the previous test devices. but as time passed and it became law that âall working units shall have a dose to optimize their performance on fieldâ, they had no other choice but to accept. which they were silently glad for, but they were never going to admit it. 141 was the best unit since new training began and human soldiers were a thing again, they were the very proof that human connections were necessary to certain tasks. but after they took their dose? oh boy, they were the best of the best. no questions asked, they all became more sensitive to nature itself. gaz started knowing all significant changes on the weather two day before it happened even if he was in blindfolds, soap somehow managed to always calm stray animals with his mere presence on the empty concrete forests that they had to visit every once in a while, ghost could tell how many people were inside of a room even several floors apart and captain price stopped needing to bark orders, he simply acknowledged them and then the boys seemed to simply know what to do.
they slowly morphed into one consciousness, not like the artificial intelligence prior to them, but like a new evolved version of themselves. suddenly ghost understood every sensation gaz ever talked about, gaz just knew what went through soap's mind, soap didn't even need to touch price to feel his tense shoulders anymore because everytime their captain got worried, they felt it. not like they felt their own feelings, but it was there. like they understood the very idea of their emotions.Â
eventually, they grew used to their new form, an emotionally charged bond that held them together. if they felt something hard enough they made the others feel it too. it wasn't always nice. one time kyle and johnny fought and that created an atmosphere where they all kept feeding off their anger, until captain told them to knock it off already and then he was mad at them like he felt both their ire â he did feel it, and it sucked. but then sometimes it was outstanding, like when ghost was so horny on a random ass tuesday and he kept horny for the rest of the week and the week after. when he finally managed to get his sweet, sweet relief, he dragged all his boys with him â even though he was alone in his room and they were all doing their respective chores. they all felt that knot loose in their lower half and just knew exactly what it was â who it was. after that they all tried to rile each other up with only their weird telepathic bond.
things were fun and enigmatic, they didn't need scientific explanations to things they simply knew. and understood. it wasnât a problem to be solved by any means, they all simply embraced this new scenario and tried to make the most of it. and it worked, they got to a level that some things didnât even have to be said because they would know from the moment that the others acknowledged it as well.
until one day they were chilling in the living room of their house, watching tv when a small pang of anxiety sparked somewhere low in their chest. cap furrowed his brows looking at johnny for an answer but he was just as confused. he turned to simon to see his visible discomfort at the foreign sensation. simon turned to kyle, the only one who seemed rather unbothered by it, although just as confused, and asked âwhat is it?â, even though he knew it wasn't kyle, and he knew kyle didn't know either.
kyle simply shrugged, âdunno, but it's weird as fuck.â it was his way to cope with the strange feeling, trying to not let it consume him. he wondered where it was coming from, since it wasn't from any of the others.
âwe will know soon enough,â john said, the soothing tone a bit unusual in the captain's voice, but it was welcome nonetheless. it managed to work the boys' nerves, and soon enough none of them felt the small, irritating poke of anxiety.
it wasn't four days later that realization washed over them. it was price who received the news â of course, like always â but they all immediately knew that something was up. they wordlessly gathered at john's office door exchanging glances until his voice cut through the silence. they didn't knock but he knew that they were standing there, âcome in already, will you?â
johnny opened the door, simon and kyle stepped in first as he held it open for them. he closed the door behind him, watching john's expression. they all knew they needn't worry, but they also knew it wasn't easy news. no one said a word, simply watching silently as price lit up a cigar and rubbed a hand down his face, then his hand scratched his beard. he sighed, taking a few seconds to find the right words, he took one final drag and settled his cigar down.
he wasn't stressed, just tired â and that said a lot, it also soothed the boys. they could help him relax in their own way if he was tired, but if he was stressed he never really allowed them close â that required a great deal of work, he never wanted them to feel stressed too. john took a breath, opened his mouth to say something more elaborate, but he couldnât, he was just as surprised as the boys would be. so he just spilled the words out.
âwe are getting an addition to the unit.â

financial guide for the rising signs [2nd, 6th, 10th] â
â

Is your pro-Palestine activism hurting innocent people? Here's how to avoid that.
Note: If you prefer plain text, you can read the plain text version here.
Over the last few days, Iâve had conversations with several Jewish people who told me how hurt and scared they are right now.
To my great regret, some of that pain came from a poorly-thought-out post of mine, which â while not ill-intentioned â WAS hurtful.
And a lot of it came from cruelty theyâd experienced at the hands of people who claim to be advocating for Palestine, but are using the very real plight of innocent Palestinians to harm equally innocent Jewish people.
Yâall, we need to do better. (Yes, âweâ definitely includes me; this is in no small part a âlearn from my failâ post, and also a âmaking amendsâ post. Some of these are mistakes Iâve made in the past.)
So if youâre an advocate for Palestine who wants to make sure that your defense of one group of vulnerable people doesnât harm another, here are some important things to do or keep in mind:
Ask yourself if youâre applying a standard to one group that you arenât applying to another.
Would you want all white Americans or Canadians to be expelled from America or Canada?
Do you want all Jewish people to be expelled from Israel, as opposed to finding a way to live alongside Palestinian Arabs in peace?
If the answer to those two questions is different, ask yourself WHY.
Do you want to be held responsible for the actions of your nationâs army or government? No? Then donât hold innocent Jewish people, or Israelis in general (whether Jewish or otherwise), responsible for the actions of the Israeli army and government.
On that subject, be wary of condemning all Israeli people for the actions of the IDF. Large-scale tactical decisions are made by the top brass. Service is compulsory, and very few can reasonably get out of service.
Blaming all Israelis for the militaryâs actions is like blaming all Vietnam vets for the horrors in Vietnam. Theyâre not calling the shots. They arenât Nazis running concentration camps. They are carrying out military operations that SHOULD be criticized.
And do not compare them or ANY JEWISH PERSON to Nazis in general. It is Jewish cultural trauma and not outsidersâ to use against them.
Donât infuse legitimate criticism with antisemitism.
By all means, spread the word about the crimes committed by the Israeli army and government, and the complicity of their allies. Criticize the people responsible for committing and enabling atrocities.
But if you imply that theyâre committing those crimes because theyâre Jewish, or because Jewish people have special privileges, then youâre straying into antisemitic territory.
Criticize the crime, not the group. If you believe that collective punishment is wrong, donât do it yourself.
And do your best to use words that apply directly to the situation, rather than the historical terms for situations with similar features. For example, use âsegregation,â âoppression,â or âsubjugation,â not âHolocaustâ or âJim Crow.â These other historical events are not the cultural property of Jews OR Palestinians, but also have their own nuances and struggles and historical contexts.
Also, blaming other world events on Jewish people or making Jewish people associated with them (for instance, some people falsely blame Jewish people for the African slave trade) is a key feature of how antisemitism functions.
Please, by all means, be specific and detailed in your critiques. But keep them focused on the current political actors â not other peoplesâ or nationsâ political or cultural histories and traumas.
Be prepared to accept criticism.
You probably already know that society is infused with a wide array of bigotries, and that people growing up in that environment tend to absorb those beliefs without even realizing it. Antisemitism is no exception.
What that means is, thereâs a very real chance that you will screw up, and get called out on it, as I so recently did.
If that happens, please be willing to learn and adapt. If you can educate yourself about the suffering and needs of Palestinians, you can do the same for Jewish people.
Understand that the people you hurt arenât obligated to baby you. Give them room to be angry.
After I made a post that inadvertently hurt people, some were nice about it, and others werenât. Some outright insulted my morals and intelligence.
And I had to accept that Iâd earned that from them.
Iâd hurt them, and they werenât obligated to be more careful with my feelings than I had been with theirs.
They werenât obligated to forgive me, trust me, or stop being mad at me right away.
Iâll admit, there were moments when I got defensive. I shouldnât have. And I encourage you to try not to, if you screw up and hurt people.
I know thatâs hard, but itâs important. Getting defensive only tells people you care more about doubling down on your mistake than you do about healing the hurt it caused.
Instead, acknowledge that they have a right to be angry, apologize for the way you hurt them, and try to make amends, while understanding that they donât owe you trust or forgiveness.
Be aware that some antisemites are using legitimate complaints to âTrojan horseâ antisemitism into leftist spaces.
This is a really easy stumbling block to trip over, because most people probably donât look at every post a creator makes before sharing the one theyâre looking at right now.
I recently shared a video that called out some of the Likud and IDFâs atrocities and hypocrisy, and that also noted that many Jewish people are wonderful members of their communities.
I was later informed that, while that video in particular seemed reasonable, the creator behind it is frequently antisemitic.
I deleted the post, and blocked the creator. I encourage you to do the same if itâs brought to your attention that youâve been âTrojan horseâd.
EDIT: Important note about antisemitism in leftist spaces:
While it's true that some blatant antisemites are using seemingly reasonable posts to get their foot in the door of leftist spaces, it's also true that a lot of antisemitism already exists inside those spaces.
This antisemitism is often dressed up in progressive-sounding language, but nonetheless singles Jewish people and places out in ways that aren't applied equally to other groups, or that label Jewish people in ways that portray them as acceptable targets.
If you want to see some specific examples, so you can have a better idea of what to keep an eye out for, I suggest reading this excellent reblog of this post.
Fact-check your doubts about antisemitism.
Depending on which parts of the internet you look at, youâve probably seen people accused of antisemitism because they complained about the Likud and/or IDFâs actions. So you might be primed to be wary, or feel unsure of how to tell what counts as real antisemitism.
But that doesnât mean antisemitism isnât a very real, widespread, and harmful problem. And it doesnât mean many or even most Jewish people are lying to you or being overly sensitive.
So if someone says something is antisemitic, and you arenât sure, I encourage you to:
A. Look up the action or thing in question, including its history. Is there an antisemitic history or connotation you arenât aware of? For best results, include âantisemiticâ in your search query, in quotes.
B. Understand that some things, while not inherently antisemitic, have been used by antisemites often enough that Jewish people are understandably wary of them. Schrodingerâs antisemitism, if you will.
C. Ask Jewish people WHO HAVE OFFERED TO HELP EDUCATE YOU. Emphasis on WHO HAVE OFFERED. Random Jewish people arenât obligated to give you their time and emotional energy, or to educate you â especially on subjects that are scary or painful for them.
@edenfenixblogs has kindly offered her inbox to those who are genuinely trying to learn and do better, and Iâve found her to be very kind, patient, reasonable, and fair-minded.
Understand that this is URGENTLY NEEDED.
In one of my conversations with a Jewish person whoâd called me out, they said this was the most productive conversation theyâd had with a person with a Palestinian flag in their profile.
THIS IS NOT OKAY.
I didnât do anything special. All I did was listen, apologize for my mistakes, and learn.
Yes, it feels good to be acknowledged. But I feel like Iâve been praised for peeing IN the toilet, instead of beside it.
Apologizing, learning, and making amends after you hurt people shouldnât be âthe most reasonable thing Iâve heard from a person with a Palestinian flag pfp.â
It should be BASIC DECENCY.
And the fact that itâs apparently so uncommon should tell you how much unnecessary stress and fear Jewish people have been living with because of people who consider themselves defenders of human rights.
By all means, be angry at the Likud, the IDF, and the politicians, reporters, and specific media outlets who choose to enable and cover up for them.
But direct that anger toward the people who deserve it and are in a position to do something about it, not random people who simply happen to be Jewish, or who donât want millions of people to be turned into refugees when less violent methods of achieving freedom and rights for Palestinians are available.
Stop peeing beside the toilet, people.

Will we ever get anything quite like Code Geass again?
I don't think it's possible.
Code Geass is Japanese nationalist propaganda disguised as a global political drama, disguised as a military mecha show, disguised as yaoibait, disguised as a teen melodrama, disguised as a high school romcom, disguised as a Pizza Hut commercial...
...except those layers aren't layers at all, but are instead comingled in a giant snake ball of insanity.
The lead writer, IchirĆ Ćkouchi, only ever worked as an episode writer for other shows prior to Code Geass, and never took the helm of an anime series ever again. And it shows. [EDIT: Several people have pointed out his other lead writing credits to me. So I misread Wikipediaâsue me. I maintain that this guy is a better episode writer than he is a lead writer.]
The minute-to-minute pacing is impeccable from a mechanical standpoint, with tension and stakes rising to ever-higher peaks, balanced out by the slow simmers of the b-plot and c-plot. It keeps the viewer on the edge of their seat at all times. Meanwhile, the large-scale plot is the most off-the-wall middle school nonsense I've ever seen, continually surprising the viewer by pulling twists too dumb to have ever have been on their radarâand therefore more effective in terms of raw shock value.
"Greenlight it!" was the mantra of this anime's production. It must have been. It has, in no particular order, all of the following:
Character designs from CLAMP, the foremost yaoi/BL group in Japan at the timeâfor characters who are only queer insofar as they can bait the audience, and only straight insofar as they can be more misogynist to the female cast.
Speaking of the female cast, hoo boy the fanservice. We've all seen anime girls breast boobily, with many cases more egregious than Code Geass, but there's something special about it happening immediately afterâor sometimes in the middle of!âscenes of military conflict and ethnic cleansing.
Pizza Hut product placement everywhere, in every conceivable situation. High-speed chases, light slice-of-life scenes, intimate character moments, all of it. Gotta have Pizza Hut.
The anime-only Pizza Hut mascot, Cheese-kun. He wears a fedora.
The most hilarious approximations of European namesâwhich I would love to see more often, frankly. Names like, I dunno, "Count SchnitzelgrĂŒbe zi Blanquezzio."
A depiction of China that is wholly removed from any modern reality, with red-and-gold pagodas, ornamental robes, scheming eunuchs, and a brainwashed child empress. There's a character named General Tsao, like the chicken.
Inappropriate free-form jazz in the soundtrack, intruding at the most unexpected times.
A secret cabal not unlike the Illuminati, run by an immortal shota with magic powers, holding influence all across the world, at the highest levels of government. They matter for approximately three episodes.
An unexpected insert scene of a schoolgirl using the corner of a table to masturbate. She's doing it to thoughts of her crush, the princess Euphemiaâbecause she believes Euphemia to be as racist as she herself is, and that gets her off. This interrupts an unrelated scene of our protagonist faction planning their next move, which then resumes as if uninterrupted.
Said schoolgirl, in a fit of hysteria, threatens to detonate a worse-than-nuclear bomb in the middle of her school. She then goes on to develop an even more destructive version of that bomb, and become a war criminal, in a chain of cause-and-effect stemming from the moment she finds out that Euphemia wasn't actually that racist.
A character called "the Earl of Pudding."
A premise that asks us to believe that the name Lelouch is normal enough that he didn't need to change it when he went into hiding as an ordinary civilian. "No, that's not Prince Strimbleford von Vanquish! That's our classmate, Strimbleford Smith."
The collective unconscious, a la Carl Jung, within which the protagonist fights his villainous father for control over the fate of humankind. After this is over, the anime just keeps going for about ten more episodes.
An episode in which a mech tosses a giant pizza.
A gay yandere sleeper agent who can manipulate the perception of time.
Chess being played very badly, even to the untrained eye. Lelouch frequently checkmates his opponent by moving his king. This goes hand-in-hand with the anime's crock of bad chess symbolism.
A fictional drug that can most succinctly be described as "nostalgia heroin."
Roller-skating mecha in knightly armor, and some of the most sickass mecha fight choreography that I've seen.
I could go on and on, but I think you get the picture. This anime is what the average Westerner in 2006 thought anime was, and it was made in a confluence of factors that cannot be replicated. I've never had so much fun watching something that I found so... insulting. Repugnant. Ridiculous. Baffling. I love it sincerely.
Catch me cosplaying Lloyd Asplund at a con sometime, or maybe even the big gay loser himself, Lelouch vi Britannia.

Promised 9
chapter - 0
Fromis_9 x Male reader
Word Count: 4.5k+
Chapters: One | Two | Three
a/n: This is just set up of the story, no smut in this chapter. but this chapter is important, for the story.
The classroom buzzed with the faint whispers of students exchanging notes and furtive glances at their phones. You sat slouched at the back, staring blankly at your open notebook, the pages still pristine except for a single doodle in the corner: a coffee cup. You idly tapped your pen against the desk, your thoughts drifting far from the lecture.
âMr. Kang Junho!â
The sharp voice of your Professor Min snapped You back to reality. The room fell silent, and all eyes turned toward you. You straightened, blinking rapidly as the professor leveled a stern gaze at you from the podium.
âCare to join us in this riveting discussion, or are you busy solving lifeâs great mysteries back there?â Professor Minâs voice was tinged with sarcasm.
âUh, no, sir. I mean, yes, Iâm listening,â You stammered, scratching the back of your neck. A few chuckles rippled through the classroom.
Satisfied, the professor adjusted his glasses and continued, pacing slowly across the front of the room. âAs I was saying, todayâs topic is about myths and their reflection of humanity. Take, for instance, the legend of the Promised Nine.â
The room quieted, the students now leaning in slightly. Professor Min always had a way of making even the dullest of topics sound compelling.
âLong ago, during a time when humanity was steeped in chaos, war, and unrelenting greed, there was a kingâa wise man, yet weary of the barbarism that plagued his people. No matter how many treaties he signed or how many battles he fought, peace was fleeting. He despaired, knowing that humanityâs greatest enemy was not the sword but the emotions that drove men to wield it: pride, envy, wrath, greed, gluttony, sloth, lust, apathy, deceitâŠâ
Junhoâs attention perked up. There was something strangely familiar about the words, though you couldnât place why.
âSo the king, in his desperation, climbed the tallest mountain in the land to plead with the deity who ruled the heavens. He begged for salvation, not for himself, but for humanity. The deity listened, moved by the kingâs earnestness. But salvation comes with a cost.â
Professor Min paused dramatically, glancing at his captivated audience. âA promise was madeâa sacred pact between the king and the deity. Aid would be sent to humanity, not as armies or riches, but as nine beings, each representing the most volatile of human emotions. Their purpose? To keep the balance of these forces, preventing anyone from consuming the world.â
He walked over to the whiteboard and wrote the words The Promised Nine in bold letters.
âBut there was a catch,â he continued. âThe deity warned the king that these emotions, though tempered, could never truly be eradicated. The Promised Nine would struggle with the very forces they were meant to contain. And should even one of them fall to the temptation of their burdenâŠâ
Professor Min trailed off, his gaze sweeping the room.
âWhat would happen?â a student near the front blurted, unable to resist.
âShould one of the Nine succumb, their emotion would consume them entirely, turning them into a force of destruction. And that destruction could spread unchecked, tipping the scales and plunging the world into chaos once more. To prevent this, the Deity decreed that the Nine would be connected to a chosen mortalâan anchor. This anchor would serve as their confidant, grounding them when the weight of their burden became too great to bear.â
He turned back to the whiteboard, writing in large, bold letters: The Promised Nine.
âThe anchor is as important as the Nine themselves,â he said. âWithout them, the balance could not be maintained. The king agreed to the Dietyâs terms, knowing full well the cost. And thus, the Promised Nine came into being.â
Professor Min stepped back from the board, his expression somber. âBut the Dietyâs warning still lingers in the echoes of time: no balance lasts forever. The story of the Promised Nine reminds us that humanityâs greatest strengthâand its greatest threatâlies within ourselves.â
The shrill ring of the bell echoed through the room, breaking the spell. Students began packing their bags, the hum of chatter returning.
âRead chapters six through eight for next week!â Professor Min called over the noise.
You gathered your things slowly, the tale still turning over in your mind. As you slung your bag over your shoulder and made your way to the door, you muttered to yourself, âPromised Nine, huh? Sounds like something out of a fantasy novel.â
â
You exit the lecture hall, slipping into the stream of students flowing out into the bustling campus courtyard. The sun dips low in the sky, casting long shadows and a warm orange glow over everything. You glance at your watchâjust enough time to get to your part-time job.
The cafĂ© isnât far, a cozy little spot just outside the university gates. Its charming wooden sign, Golden Brew, sways slightly in the breeze. The place is always busy, a favorite among students and faculty alike. But thereâs one reason it stands out from the dozens of other coffee shops around: its owner, Gyuri.
You push through the door, greeted by the familiar hum of chatter, clinking cups, and the hiss of the espresso machine. The cafĂ© smells like roasted beans and freshly baked pastriesâa comforting combination that feels like a second home.
âJunho, youâre late!â
The voice is soft yet commanding, and you immediately straighten, turning to the counter. There she isâGyuri, the radiant owner of Golden Brew. Her beauty is the kind that leaves people momentarily breathless. stood effortlessly graceful in her casual white t-shirt and mint-green cap, her gentle features framed by stray strands of hair and a gaze as warm as the morning sun
âI-Iâm sorry, Ms. Gyuri,â you stammer, bowing slightly as you head toward the staff room to put your bag away.
âItâs fine, just donât make a habit of it, okay?â she replies, her voice as warm as the golden light streaming through the cafĂ© windows.
âYes, of course!â you reply quickly, though you canât shake the sense of unease you always feel around her.
Itâs not fear, exactly. Gyuri is unfailingly warm and generous. She treats her staff like family, remembers the names of regulars, and always has a smile for everyone who walks through the door. Still, you find yourself hyper-aware of her moods, as though disappointing her might lead to something far worse than a lecture.
When you emerge from the staff room in your apron, Gyuri is already behind the counter, expertly steaming milk for a cappuccino. âCan you handle table sevenâs order? Theyâve been waiting a bit.â
You grab the tray, carefully balancing two lattes and a slice of cheesecake, weaving your way through the maze of tables. Itâs almost automatic at this pointâsidestepping bags, dodging half-turned chairsâbut when you reach the corner table, you stop.
Sheâs there.
Seoyeon.

Sheâs a regular, not a student or faculty, just... always here. Youâve seen her enough times to notice the details: the dark circles under her eyes, natural and striking, framing her otherwise delicate features. Sheâs beautiful in a way that sneaks up on youâher sleepy, almost lazy demeanor masks something deeper.
Sheâs hunched over her laptop, typing slowly, as if testing each word before committing to it. The oversized navy shirt drapes over her frame, and her hair carelessly tied, some falls messily around her face. You set the tray down gently, not wanting to disturb whatever sheâs working on.
âThanks,â she mutters without looking up, her voice soft, almost as if sheâs halfway to falling asleep.
You nod, even though she doesnât see it, and glance at her screen. Itâs filled with textâlines upon lines of words you canât make sense of from this angle. Stories, maybe? Essays? You donât know, and itâs not your place to ask.
As you turn to leave, she stretches, her movements slow and languid, like she has all the time in the world. For a moment, you wonder what keeps her coming back here, day after day, to sit in that same spot, typing away.
But you shake the thought off. Youâve got other tables to serve.
.You make your way back behind the counter, tray in hand. Itâs a small relief to retreat to this spot, even if only for a few moments. Manning the cashier is easierâless weaving between tables, fewer chances to trip or spill something. The register beeps softly as you organize receipts and prepare for the next wave of customers.
The door opens, and the atmosphere in the cafĂ© shifts. Itâs subtle, like a faint breeze stirring through a room, but you notice it immediately. Heads turnâstudents and faculty alikeâand conversations falter as if someone hit pause.
You glance up and freeze.
Jiheon.
Her name is spoken in hushed tones across campus, her presence both admired and untouchable. She moves with an effortless grace that feels out of place in the mundane setting of the cafĂ©, her bright smile commanding attention without even trying. But itâs her eyes that hold youâthe way they curve into crescent moons with a hint of something sharper, more mischievous, just beneath the surface.
To your utter disbelief, she walks directly to the counter. Your counter.
âHi there,â she says, her voice smooth and casual, like sheâs greeting an old friend. Her gaze locks onto yours, and her smile widens slightly. âYouâre Junho, right?â
You blink, caught so off guard that you almost drop the pen in your hand. âUh⊠yeah?â Your answer comes out as more of a question than a confirmation.
Her smile grows, as if your awkwardness amuses her. âThought so. Iâm Jiheon.â She leans in just slightly, resting one hand on the counter. âIâve heard a lot about you.â
Your wariness kicks in. Jiheonâthe Jiheonâis talking to you? Asking for your name? It feels like the kind of thing that only happens to other people. Your eyes flick briefly to Gyuri at the other end of the counter. Sheâs busy steaming milk, not even sparing a glance in Jiheonâs direction.
ïżœïżœNice to meet you,â you manage, your voice steadier this time, though your thoughts are racing. âUh, caramel macchiato?â You blurt the question out more out of instinct than anything else.
Her laugh is light, lilting, but thereâs something playful in it, like sheâs already decided youâre her new source of entertainment. âHmm. Good guess,â she teases, tapping a finger against the counter. âSure, Iâll have that. But Iâm impressed you remembered. I didnât think I was that predictable.â
You feel your face heat up, fumbling to punch her order into the register. âItâs not that, I justâuhââ You stop, realizing anything you say will just dig you deeper.
She watches you, clearly enjoying the way you stumble over your words. âRelax, Junho,â she says, her tone soft but undeniably amused. âIâm just messing with you.â
Handing her the receipt, you attempt a smile. âComing right up.â
Instead of moving to find a seat, she lingers by the counter, her eyes drifting lazily around the cafĂ© before landing back on you. âNice place. Gyuriâs done a great job here, hasnât she?â
Your gaze flicks to Gyuri again. Still busy. Still not looking this way. âYeah, she has,â you reply, keeping your voice neutral.
Jiheon tilts her head, her smile still firmly in place. âYou two seem close,â she muses, her tone light but probing. âGyuriâs lucky to have someone like you helping her out.â
The way she says it makes you feel like sheâs toying with you, testing your reaction. âI just do what I can,â you say cautiously.
Her eyes light up, as if youâve said something particularly amusing. âI bet you do.â She straightens up and takes a step back. âWell, Junho, itâs been⊠enlightening.â Her smile takes on an almost cat-like quality. âThanks for the drink. Iâll be around.â
As she walks away to find a seat, the tension in your shoulders eases, but her presence lingers like a shadow. You glance at Gyuri one last time, hoping for some kind of reaction, but sheâs focused on the drinks in front of her, her usual calm smile in place.
And yet, for just a moment, you swear thereâs something almost knowing in the way she glances at Jiheonâs retreating figure..
â
The bell above the door jingles as the last customer leaves, and you let out a long breath, leaning against the counter. The cafĂ© feels different nowâquiet, peaceful, but heavy with the lingering scent of coffee and pastries. Itâs nighttime, and the warm glow of the overhead lights gives the empty space a cozy but slightly eerie feel.
âGood job today, Junho,â Gyuri says, flashing you one of her signature warm smiles as she locks the cash register.
âThanks, Ms. Gyuri,â you reply, your voice softer than usual in the now-empty cafĂ©.
After finishing up your closing dutiesâwiping down tables, stacking chairs, and sweeping the floorsâyou grab your jacket and step out into the cool night air. The streets are quieter now, with only a few scattered groups of students heading home. You adjust your backpack, your thoughts already drifting toward the comfort of your cramped boarding room.
As you turn a corner, someone bumps into you.
âAh, sorry,â you mumble automatically, stepping back.
The girl doesnât even glance up, her eyes glued to her phone. Sheâs wearing what looks like an e-sport jersey jacket, its bold colors contrasting with the dark street. Her brown hair catches the ambient glow of the streetlights, faintly shining as she moves past you. For a brief moment, her face is illuminated, and itâs enough to leave an impression.
Sheâs stunning.
Before you can fully process it, your impulse kicks in. You take a step forward, clearing your throat. âHey, uh, Iâm Junho...â
But she doesnât respond. Her focus remains solely on the screen of her phone, and she keeps walking, oblivious to your presence.
You stand there for a second, feeling a bit foolish, then shake your head. The image of her lingers in your mind as she disappears into the night, leaving you with nothing but the quiet hum of the street.
When you finally reach your room, you fumble with your keys and push the door open. Itâs as small and cramped as ever, but itâs yours. You toss your jacket onto the single chair by the desk, only to realize somethingâs missing. Your bag. You groan, running a hand through your hair. You mustâve left it at the cafĂ© in your rush to leave. Thereâs no helping itâyouâll have to go back.
The walk feels longer this time, the quiet streets amplifying the sound of your footsteps. As you get closer, a strange unease settles in your chest. The air feels heavier, the streetlights casting elongated shadows that seem to move just out of sync with your steps. Your skin prickles, as if something unseen is watching.
When you reach the cafĂ©, you notice something strange. Cars are parked outside. Not just any carsâluxury vehicles, sleek and expensive, the kind youâd expect to see in a high-end district, not outside a cozy student cafĂ©. Their polished exteriors gleam under the soft glow of the streetlights, each one a testament to sophistication and taste.
Your gaze drifts across the lineup, catching details that feel oddly personal. A jet-black SUV, imposing and understated. A sapphire blue Porsche, sharp and vibrant, eerily luring you in. Your eyes stop briefly on a compact car that feels out of place among the giantsâa Mini Cooper. Its emerald green paint shimmers, the kind of green that feels rich and alive, paired with racing stripes that speak of personality rather than pure extravagance. Itâs less ostentatious but undeniably stylish, a subtle standout among its peers.
As you approach, an inexplicable resistance builds inside you, like a pressure against your chest. Your feet feel heavier, your thoughts fuzzier, and for a brief moment, you consider turning around. The cafĂ© seems distant, almost unreal, like itâs shifting away even as you step closer. But you shake it off, forcing yourself forward.
You head to the backdoor, fishing out the spare key Gyuri gave you for emergencies. Pushing it open, you step into the staff area and spot your bag right where you left it. Relieved, you sling it over your shoulder and turn to leave.
Thatâs when you hear it.
The faint jingle of the front doorbell breaks the silence, followed by muffled voices.
You freeze. The cafĂ© should be empty, but thereâs a light seeping through the crack of the door leading to the main lobby. Slowly, you step closer, curiosity outweighing caution.
Peeking through the door, you see her.
She steps inside like she owns the air she breathes, her presence commanding yet effortless. Her long, jet-black hair cascades down her back, perfectly straight, with sharp bangs framing her face. Under the glow of the café lights, her striking blue eyes seem almost unnatural, as if they were cut from the sky itself.

For a moment, her gaze sweeps the café, and then it lands directly on you.
Your heart skips a beat. Youâre sure youâve been caughtâyour face heats up, and youâre ready to stammer some excuse about being here after hours. But her expression doesnât shift.
Her lips curl into a smile, slow and deliberate, as if sheâs been waiting for this very moment. Itâs the kind of smile that feels personal, like it holds a secret meant only for you.
But then, as quickly as her eyes found yours, they slid away.
Itâs deliberateâyouâre certain of that. She must have seen you. And yet, she acts as if youâre invisible, as if your presence is of no consequence. She turns, her hair sweeping behind her like a silk curtain, and addresses the others in the room.
From your hidden vantage point, you take in the scene.
The cafĂ©, which should have been empty, is instead alive with movement. A group of women fills the space, each one radiating an aura of distinct confidence and beauty. They arenât just sitting or lounging; they seem to command the room, transforming it into something that feels foreign, almost sacred.
âChaeyoung,â one of the women calls out, her tone both teasing and sharp, âyouâre late.â
Your eyes dart to the source of the voice, and your breath catchesâitâs her. The same woman you bumped into earlier, the one engrossed in her phone. Sheâs still wearing that e-sport jersey jacket, looking as effortlessly confident as she had before.
âAnd Nagyung? Youâre not late?â Chaeyoung fires back, her tone teasing, her smile sharper now.
The casual banter between them feels like watching something private, yet you canât look away.
Your gaze shifts to the rest of the table. The initial shock of seeing Chaeyoung fades as you take in the others, each of them equally striking in their presence. You almost stumble backward when you spot familiar faces.
Gyuri, whose warmth youâve come to rely on, sits with an unfamiliar coolness about her. Her brow is furrowed, a faint trace of annoyance crossing her usually gentle features. It sharpens her striking appearance, making her seem like someone youâve never truly known. There's a tension in her posture that makes you feel like you're seeing a side of her thatâs been hidden until now.
Seoyeon leans lazily toward the women beside her, her relaxed posture contrasting the air of composure around the table.
The woman Seoyeon is leaning into feels strangely familiar, as if you should recognize her. She matches the others in beauty, her jet-black hair framing a delicate face. A soft smile plays at her lips, radiating warmth and charm. With luminous skin and deep, expressive eyes, she exudes an effortless elegance that captivates without even trying.
And as if that werenât enough to leave you reeling, on the other side of the table, you recognize Lee Saerom.
The Saerom. The top celebrity, known for her flawless visuals and commanding performances.
Sitting next to her is Song Hayoung, the famous songwriter and soloist whose music dominates every chart.Â
Theyâre casually leaning into the conversation, as though their combined fame and aura arenât enough to make this room the most exclusive place in the city.
âIs Jiwon not here yet?â Chaeyoung asks as she slips into a seat, her voice nonchalant, but her eyes scanning the room with interest.
The front doorbell jingles, and the door swings open.
âIâm here!!â a bright, piercing voice calls out.
Your head swivels toward the source, and there she is. Jiwon, bounding through the entrance like a whirlwind of energy, her grin lighting up the room before her words even have a chance.

âJisun, did you bring food?â Jiwonâs question comes rapid-fire, her tone playful but undeniably demanding.
The woman Seoyeon was leaning into rose. She moves with calm precision, her composure stark against Jiwonâs lively presence.
"Of course, I brought food. Wouldnât want you to starve." Jisun says, her voice soft but firm, as she produces a stack of containers seemingly out of nowhere. She places them on the table, the gesture practiced, as though she had been anticipating the request long before it was asked.
It hits you then. Roh Jisun. The world-famous chef. Known for her culinary brilliance and beauty. You've seen her multiple times before in magazines, tv, or online articles. You can hardly believe she's here, so close, exuding an effortless elegance.
âCan we finally get started? I still have to clean up after all of you,â Gyuri complained, her annoyance clear.
Now that the group had gathered, all eyes shifted to Saerom, who was waiting for their attention.
âOur youngest is losing control,â Saerom began.
âWe all constantly are,â Nagyung shrugged off the concern.
âThis isn't the same, you know that,â Saerom replied firmly.
âDonât try to ignore these meetings, Nagyung. Iâm losing millions just being here,â Jiwon said, flaunting her wealth.
âMust be nice having all those millions,â Hayoung remarked. While her gaze focuses on the only fork on the table, in the hands of Chaeyoung.
âYouâre a millionaire too. Why are you eyeing my money?â Jiwon shot back defensively.
âAhem!⊠Losing control?â Gyuri steered the conversation back on track.
Saerom, now commanding their full attention, spoke with purpose.
âWe need to consider finally finding an anchor.â
âThen weâll get an anchor. Meeting is done,â Soyeon said with a yawn, stretching.
Charyoung, still twirling the fork between her fingers, smirked. âDo we have to? Iâve been liking her attitude recently.â
âItâs time,â Saerom replied, her tone serious. âWe canât risk it. If deceit consumes herâŠâ
âIt will consume all of us,â Gyuri finished, her voice dark.
You stay frozen, trying to make sense of the conversation. Consume? Anchor? Deceit? The weight of their words sinks in, and though you know you should leave, something keeps you rooted to the spot. The truth behind their cryptic conversation is just out of reach.
Then, without warning, a soft voice whispered near your ear.
âCuriosity can be dangerous, you know.â
You nearly jump out of your skin, spinning around to find Jiheon standing inches away, her signature eye-smile curved upward in amusement. Youâre certain she wasnât there a second ago. How could she have gotten so close without making a sound?
âWhaâhowâ?â you stammer, instinctively taking a step back, only to hear the door creak open behind you.
Seoyeon, now fully awake, leans forward slightly, her drowsy facade giving way to genuine surprise. âHow did he get here?â she asks, her voice carrying a rare edge of curiosity. Her eyes scan you, but itâs not just scrutinyâitâs disbelief, almost as if youâre some kind of anomaly.
âWhoâs this?â Nagyung asks, clearly not remembering you.
âJunho,â Gyuri says softly, her voice now laced with concern and confusion. âHow are you here?â Her warm demeanor has returned that almost makes you feel safe. Almost.
Your mind scrambles for an explanation, but Jiheon, ever calm, steps forward, her gaze fixed on you as if sheâs reading your very thoughts.
âHe overheard,â Jiheon says simply, her tone neither accusatory nor dismissive.
âClearlyâ Jiwon crosses her arms, her lively energy dampened by suspicion. âWhy did you let him through?â
Jiheon doesnât answer. Instead, she steps forward, closing the already narrow distance between the two of you. Her eyes glint with an eerie amusement, her head tilting slightly as she examines you like a puzzle sheâs just begun to piece together.
âRegardless of how,â Saerom says, her voice cutting through the murmurs and drawing every gaze. She rises slowly, her commanding presence quieting the room once more. âWhat matters is why. What did he hear?â
âI didnât mean to listen!â you blurt out, your voice shaky as you raise your hands in defense. âIâI just came back for my bag, and then I heard voices, andââ
âAnd stopped to eavesdrop,â Chaeyoung interrupts, her voice playful but her eyes uncomfortably sharp.
âNo! I meanâyes, but not like that!â you stammer, feeling the weight of their collective stares crushing you. âItâs not what you think! I swear I wonât tell anyone!â
Gyuri sighs, stepping closer. âJunho, you donât understand. This... what youâve heard... itâs not something you can just walk away from.â
âI donât know how you got through the mist â Jisun adds, her tone firm but not unkind. âBut this isnât something just anyone can know.â
âMaybe,â Chaeyoung says, her lips curving into a sly smile, âheâs not âjust anyone.ââ
âEnough.â Saeromâs single word silences the room, her authority undeniable. Her eyes pierce through you, weighing your very existence. âWhatâs done is done. The question now is what we do with him.â
Your heart pounds in your chest. âWait!â you cry, your voice desperate. âI swear I wonât say anything! I donât even understand what I heard! Just let me go, and Iâll forget everything!â
âThatâs not how this works,â Hayoung says from across the room, her voice carrying an edge as sheâs now holding the fork she was eyeing earlier.
Jiheon smirks, her eyes gleaming with mischief as she takes another step closer. âOh, Junho,â she purrs, her voice dripping with playful malice. âItâs not your fault, really. You were just in the wrong place at the wrong time.â She tilts her head, her smile widening. âBut... well, itâs a little late for regrets, donât you think?â
Her hand lifts, faint cyan light dancing at her fingertips, and you canât tear your eyes away. The glow reflects in her eyes, making her look ethereal and otherworldly.
âJiheon, stop!â Saeromâs voice cuts through, but Jiheon doesnât even flinch.
âRelax,â Jiheon says lightly, her tone almost soothing as she looks at you. âIâm just helping him... rest a little.â
âJiheon!â Saeromâs command comes sharper this time, but itâs already too late.
Jiheonâs fingers flick, the cyan light tracing an elegant pattern in the air. âJust a little nap,â she whispers, her voice lilting and playful.
The moment the light touches you, an overwhelming drowsiness washes over your body. Your knees buckle, the edges of your vision darken, and Jiheonâs playful smile is the last thing you see as the world fades to black.

Infant Resize Preset
Are you sick of using demon toddlers? Do you want newborns that actually LOOK like newborns? Well you came to the right place cause one night I had a midnight thought that I turned into a reality and it was to make those toddler resize presets but for INFANTS!
The proportions look so much more newborn-like, eh? I tried my best to use real newborn references for an accurate scale!
DISCLAIMER: THIS PRESET IS FOR POSE USE ONLY. It kind of works with gameplay, but it doesn't give you any new gameplay features for newborns. They will act like infants
HOW TO USE?
STEP 1: Equip preset in CAS
The preview looks like this! And is located under body presets!
-Note that you CANNOT go back to a regular size infant without defaulting their genetic body type. So I recommend making a CAS backup just for the infant!
STEP 2: Get you some poses that work with this preset! (I have a launch day list at the bottom of this post!!)
-Resized toddler poses WILL NOT work with this preset.
-Regular sized Infant poses will work with the preset, but it may require T.O.O.L to fix the positioning.
STEP 3: Pose as normal!! If you're having trouble with positioning, see the known issues section of this post!

POSEMAKER'S GUIDE
To make poses using this preset, you must use the special rig provided in the download section of this post! It's exactly like posing with resized toddlers.
-You must NEVER use the reset rig button. That defaults the rig to regular infant size. To undo changes please use alt + R and alt + G
KNOWN ISSUES
Infants are notoriously glitchy and for some reason when they're small sized, they act just a little bit crazier.
I HIGHLY RECCOMEND YOU DOWNLOAD T.O.O.L TO HELP SOLVE THESE ISSUES.
-If your teleporter is throwing last exceptions, your small infants may become misaligned with their caregiver's. This is easily fixable with T.O.O.L.
-When posing on an incline, the infants WILL MOVE OUT OF PLACE. These kinds of misalignments can't be fixed with T.O.O.L. I recommend only posing on flat terrain.
-This is not an issue, but more of a suggestion. If you're posing with some kind of bed, these babes are tiny and hard to click on. I recommend downloading a camera mod such as this one to get down low under the beds.
If you have any other detrimental issues, please let me know! I'm happy to help troubleshoot! You can reach out on here, but I respond faster on my instagram!
Free poses you can use right now!!
Thank you SOOO much to my amazing friends @truecolorssims and @herecirmsims for making 100% free poses to release alongside this launch!! Ya'll are INCREDIBLE and I couldn't have done this without you!!!
Cold Welcome by Me -Birth poses with complications
Newborn Singles by Me
It's Your Dad by Me - NICU visit poses
Safe in My Arms by Me -Sim being handed a baby and cuddle sesh.
It's So Hard by Me - Sim crying by a crib and being handed a baby
Complete by Me - Polyamorous throuple with baby
Isn't Mommy Awesome? By Me - Breastfeeding/Bottlefeeding with toddler and both parents.
Hold This by @herecirmsims - Couple and trio poses handing off a baby!!
Emotions With A Newborn by @herecirmsims - like the title suggests!!
Teeny Tiny by @truecolorssims - Family portrait poses with newborn!!
There was also supposed to be a preemie size variant of this preset but for some reason I couldn't get it to work!! Maybe one day when I have more time to troubleshoot I can release that, but for now, I didn't want to put this off any longer!
(UPDATE: PREEMIE SIZE IS HERE!) It's also included in the infant resize download at the bottom.
TERMS OF USE:
I put a LOT of hours into this preset and all the poses to go along with it and I'm releasing them COMPLETELY FREE So I feel a slightly stricter TOS is warranted.
-Do not reupload
-No poses made with this preset are allowed to be perma paywalled PERIOD. Early access is allowed if it is released for free in a timely manner (2-3 weeks)
-Do not include the preset in your post. Please link back to this post!
IF THESE TOUs ARE VIOLATED I WILL BLOCK YOU ON ALL PLATFORMS
If you use it, please tag me on here or on Instagram @electric.whims Not a requirement, but I do want to see!

the furry fandom is mostly concerned with literal representation
theres tons of symbolism and intention applied but its usually just in character design and to a lesser extent stylization (u can only go so far w it before it steps on character design)
bc the purpose of the art is v specific - its exploring sensory experiences and desires, its often not just a standalone piece but an imagination aid to make something with only an abstract internal existence more concrete and real.
past a point its hard to project urself into abstract art
theres nothing wrong with this, a lot of rly lovely art comes out of these ways of thinking. i do a lot of this kind of art myself
and of course there *are* other artists doing furry abstraction! im far from alone. paul peng does some next level shit that continues to inspire me, scribblechicken makes glorious surreal works w fields of repeated images, teddywitchs recent abstract sketchbook work has been rly inspiring to me, mariken has been playing with abstraction in ways tht make it feel rly accessible
and of course there are alternate models of furry besides patricia taxxons autistic model (from the "ethics of boinking animal people" video) which while rly useful for understanding the bulk of furry culture leaves out other types of brainweirdness that draw ppl to anthro animal imagery in different ways. pawberri posited an additional schizotypal model that seems v useful and made some of my favorite artists work click in a way it never did before
anyway i think on the scale of the fandom this results in the de-emphasis of non illustrative artforms. there are furry sculptors and painters and ceramicists doing incredible work but it doesnt seem to get the same love (with the exception of fursuit makers bc theyre making a v literally representational form of wearable sculpture)
i could go on abt material conditions, economic motivations, art literacy, etc but instead i just wanna make my case
we can all agree that postfurry is where the most interesting stuff in furry is being made right. i saw yall gushing abt sinkdog i saw the fanart i see my sog painting still getting notes years later. but postfurry is still limiting the furry toolkit to character design i think we can go deeper
u can apply that toolkit to pure abstraction and leave characters and backgrounds behind. u can plant it into the intentionality behind not obviously furry work. patricia taxxon used a term in the video i mentioned earlier, "transcendental furriness" tht i think gets at this a little. u can make pure abstraction furry. u can make furry food if u rly lean into animalistic eating experiences and evocative flavor combinations. furry doesnt have to just be a character design trope it can be so much more. it can be layered fractally into the process and intentionality of a work, if that makes sense. twisted into every fiber and woven in
*thats* the kind of art i wanna make
anyway thank u for reading my manifesto
