in my head it’s canon that the song family line by conan gray is actually a poem that neil perry wrote after a fight with his father. later that night, he sat at his desk while todd was sleeping— and spent hours writing, and, obviously, crying. he fell asleep there, in the early hours of the morning.

And even though it's hard to listen to those songs without crying, it makes you feel like you needed these songs. To feel valid, and that's exactly how this song's makes you feel. That they understand, and you're not alone. It feels like a hug which is painful yet like a hug you hold your dear life onto.
