Time Stands Still

Description: When Alastor makes his big return Vox becomes on edge. Seven years ago he thought the Radio Demon had died, but now with his return Vox can't help but feel that his time was coming. So, he takes matters into his own hands. With a little help he gets rid of Alastor, but will he regret it once he sees just how the Radio Demon truly impacted the way Hell operates?

Prologue: Seven Years Prior

It was the same song and dance, Vox vs Alastor, Television vs Radio. A tale that is getting just as old and overrated as Valentino’s porn scripts. Something about this battle felt final though, the two Overlords hitting each other with their best, throwing insults back and forth. 

“I must say, you’ve become a lot more entertaining since our last spat!” Alastor exclaims as he blocks one of Vox’s wires. 

“You say that every time we fight, you washed up comedian.” 

It was his turn to dodge an attack, this back and forth was becoming irritating. This wouldn’t even be happening if the deer had just agreed to their deal. 

“Still wishing I had said yes to your terms?” 

Vox narrows his eyes at Alastor, his electric blue teeth gritted in irritation. How dare this smarmy bastard mock him? He wasn’t wishing he had said yes, it would have been fine if he had considered it. Just think of what the two of them could do if they were to team up, why they could even possibly overthrow Lucifer himself. 

“Why would I wish that you had said yes? Why, your broadcasts are mediocre at bes-'' A pained gasp interrupts Vox’s insult, he looks down and sees one of Alastors shadowy tendrils protruding his abdomen. 

“What did you just say?” Alastor questions, his voice distorting and eyes resembling that of an old timey radio dial. 

For the first time in his afterlife Vox can say the Radio Demon has finally achieved the ability to make him scared. He watches in horror as Alastor’s form contorts, his antlers growing ten times in size. He struggles to get himself away from the tendril, cursing under his breath when the appendage just digs deeper into his stomach. 

His hand brushes the familiar coolness of his pistol, Val had it specially made for him. It was one of Carmilla Carmine’s creations which meant…

A smirk comes to life on his face, “Ha… Valentino you clever son of a bitch.” 

“What’s so funny?” 

Vox pulls the gun from his side, he relishes in the shock plastered on Alastor’s face as he points it straight at the Radio Demon’s chest. 

“This is, you old timey fuck.” 

The shot rings loud through his speakers, for a moment he thinks he’s missed, but when the tendril dissipates from his abdomen Vox knows he’s hit his mark. He uses his cables to catch himself, standing high and mighty over Alastor. 

In all of his years of seeing Alastor he’s never seen the demon looked so pained as he does right now. 

“Any last words, Al?” Vox asks as he points the gun at Alastor’s head. 

The sound of a laugh track echoes around them, causing the tv demon to furrow his brow in confusion.

“S-Stay tuned.~” 

He’s gone before Vox can take the killing shot. A low distorted growl leaves the tv demon’s mouth as he returns his gun to its holster. 

“Doesn’t matter, he’ll be dead in no time.”

Murderbot Diaries:

I have no idea if you've ever read the murderbot diaries books by martha wells (which, if you havent and have any sort of interest in science fiction PLEASE READ THEM THEYRE SO FUN) but the character of secunit is SO ghost coded its not even funny

for those unaware: secunit is short for security unit, which in the world of murderbot are partially artificial and partially human constructs created as cheap labor. secunits are considered property rather than people, despite being totally sentient. they are not, however, autonomous. secunits have a thing called a "governor module" that will essentially fry their brains if they do anything to go against the company/their client's orders. secunits can be repaired and reissued to new clients, so the whole thing is just super fucked up

anyway, back to the au. ghost, like murderbot, manages to disable his governor module somehow and is able to act completely autonomously. however, he's been so Fucked Up by you know... being a secunit, that he doesnt exactly know how to be autonomous or his own person, so he just. Doesnt. and he continues to protect clients as they come up, doing his best to hide the fact that hes able to act freely.

enter the 141 survey crew, who are his latest group of clients that hes been tasked with protecting. its a much smaller group than he's used to, only seven members compared to dozens and dozens, but that means he's the only secunit sent along which is for the better tbh. the members of the survey include laswell, price, gaz, soap, farah, alex, and roach.

for once in ghost's life, he's not treated as a looming threat or an inanimate object, but an actual person with thoughts and opinions of his own. and he Does Not Like This At All.

at least, not at first. but he finds his walls start getting eroded by these idiotic humans and their idiotic tendencies to make the worst possible choices. (especially a certain engineer with a taste for explosive materials, but thats neither here nor their)

of course, something has to go wrong, as it always does. there are two other survey teams on the planet - kortac and shadow company. and according to a message sent by one of them (not sure which yet lmao), something is hunting them.

and soon, the 141 is going to be hunted to

im trying not to directly copy the plot of all systems red (the first murderbot novella) so yeah!

SO this one is fun.

ghost is still part of the 141, alongside gaz and price. he's a werewolf (obviously XD) and somehow, a mark gets the drop on him while he's shifted into his full wolf form

he wakes up in a tiny iron cage in a dank basement, with a burning pain across his snout, jaw, and neck. his captors managed to muzzle and collar him with pure silver, keeping him as weak and docile as possible. hes still fucking dangerous as shit, but this way they can at least handle him.

his captors, a group of hunter/poachers, have a shitton of other supernaturals trapped in the basement with him. they come down to gloat, and with them is a strange man. he doesnt talk smack like the others. he moreso tries to blend into the shadows and disappear. but ghost cant tear his eyes away from the bright blue eyes lurking in the darkness. or the thick iron band locked around his throat.

the man is clearly inhuman, but he cant - or wont - speak. hes tasked with taking care of the "feral wolf" (ghost) for the duration of his stay. from the precise wording of the orders, ghost knows exactly what the man in.

fair folk. something powerful, too, given the iron bands around his wrists as well.

days of ghost plotting his escape pass, and ghost and the fae start to come to some sort of wordless alliance. they take care of each other as best they can from their relative cages, finding solace in each other that they cant find anywhere else.

something happens later down the line, maybe gaz and price are getting to close to the operations, but the poachers decide that its time to cut their losses and skip town. they order the fae to "take care of the wolf". ghost's heart drops, because he knows that a fae cant disobey an order given by the keeper of their true name.

but in the poachers' haste to get things wrapped up, they made a mistake. they left the order unclear and open ended.

and the fair folk always take notice of loopholes.

the fae unlocks ghost's cage and releases him from the silver. ghost, rather than just go up and slaughter the entire organization himself, decides to be extra and lets loose every single other creature trapped down there with him. they all go and massacre the ring, but ghost doesnt. because the fae collapsed on the floor of the basement, dropping his glamour in the process. and the sight is grisly.

he's skin and bones, barely any muscle or fat on him at all. the iron ring around his neck and the iron bands around his wrists hang loose, showing the thick rings of scar tissue on pale skin. but the worst is his mouth.

coarse, rough thread seals his mouth shut, the wounds red and angry and irritated. locking the fae's strongest weapon away, keeping him firmly under the whims of his captors. he may have had the freedom of movement that ghost lacked, but he was as much a prisoner here as the rest.

ghost somehow manages to get them all out safe, and he finally gets the fae's name. his true name. not the silly little nickname he gave him in his head while watching him clean the basement day in and day out (soap).

for the first time in months, simon and johnny speak to one another.

There’s a sander sides fic i wrote like 8 years ago that had all of the sides get slowly and very brutally murdered one by one in hella graphic detail. I was trying to experiment with descriptors and visuals at that time. Definitely that one. I don’t think it’s on ao3 but it’s somewhere on my old Wattpad account

7.) what’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Definitely Falling In Love (In The Most Literal Sense) or an unpublished eldritch smut horror DeadOnMain fic that’s forever staying in WIP hell. Falling In Love first and foremost has an ending, secondly they get along and it’s cute :)

8.) do you get hate on fics?

Not really. I occasionally get questions or criticism on my tumblr but that’s either advice or someone wanting answers and that isn’t hate.

9.) Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

I have tried my hand at smut before. Mostly smutty scenes with kinda sorta fade to black, solely because I’m terrible at painting a mental picture for the reader so it always flows terribly. I’ve written that eldritch DeadOnMain thing as I said previously, and some of Jason’s matches Malone persona OF ideas.

10.) do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one?

Somewhere in my WIPs there is a homestuck AU DPxDC fic where DP kids are the humans and DC folks (primarily the teen titans) are the trolls. Definitely that one.

No fics but I’ve been sent asks that are word for word one of my prompts. I just delete those and go on with my day. Idk I don’t have a tiktok and someone’s probably imitating me on there with my prompts so possibly????

Ooooo It’s a solid tie between Kon/Tim and Dave/Karkat. One is my current favorite and the other is one that’s been my favorite ship for the longest time.

15.) what’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you will?

I have a WIP in my files that’s a DPxDC Dash/Danny fic where Dash is a bomb disposal tech and Danny just moved into Gotham. I have the entire outline written and almost a solid chapter done but I heavily doubt I’ll have the motivation to touch it again.

16.) what are your writing strengths?

I don’t think I have any, (I haven’t written a full length fic in so long I can’t really tell 😅) but I’m very good at setting tone. Idk what do y’all think?

17.) writing weaknesses?

Dialogue. 100% dialogue. It always feels clunky and unconversational whenever I read it back. I swear the second I start writing talking I forget how conversations work.

18.) thoughts on writing dialogue in another language?

I’d probably throw a simple word here in there of the other language if I’m writing a bilingual speaker or ask a pal to help me with translations because I only know English and I know damn well that friends are better translators than google.

Sander Sides! I wrote a solid 500ish prompts for that fandom and like 70k worth of fics. It was what got me into writing and for that I’m so very glad.

Definitely my Batman mermaid au. I love it to bits and I’m so proud of the designs and I’m always kinda sad that I’m the only one as enthused about this work as I am. None the less I reread it at least every 3 months and it always makes me smile doing so.

>most of the characters in this au are high school seniors, barring a few exceptions (chopper is a junior, for instance). >because this is directly mirrored from my own experience and i'm usamerican, there are 8 periods in their school day, with the first starting at 7:50 am and the last ending at 2:40 pm. >the east blue gang met in middle school, and the rest of the SHs came into play either the summer before freshman year or during it. most of the other crews also became friends in middle school. >overall the school is fairly large, with something like 2.5k students, but it's also pretty broke whenever it doesn't have grant money (which is often).
