so I’ve been gaining a lot of insight into the animation industry recently, especially in regards to pitching & the creation of new shows. There’s a few ways to go about it.
First, there’s pitching to a studio. When you pitch, it has to be SHORT and CONCISE. You may write a lovingly detailed pitch bible that perfectly breaks down episodes and characterizations, and it might barely even get read. First impressions, first impressions, first impressions!
Most peoples’ first projects don’t get picked up. I’ve heard a few stories from directors that said they tried pitching a story they’d had for years, which got rejected, to then spend a week or even several hours in their car coming up with a new idea, only for that to get greenlit.
But that’s not the end of it. Just because a show gets greenlit, doesn’t mean it will ever get finished. There’s lots of things that can happen. Sometimes, unexpected major world events (like… a global pandemic) can cause projects to get chopped. Sometimes, a CEO change or studio merge means a single person can decide a project “no longer fits with the company’s brand.” Sometimes, the one producer that was rooting for your project gets laid off, and no one else cares enough, so it gets shelved. Sometimes, a streaming service decides to create an animation department, and then they decide they don’t want it anymore. Sometimes, the studio will be simultaneously be developing another project that was too similar to yours and they just didn’t think to tell you until they decide yours is the one with less potential.
On top of that, almost everyone in the industry is saying that “studios just don’t pick up original content anymore.” Studios want something they can franchise, something that will bring in money. New content is risky. Established fanbases are safer.
However! Studios can still be a very good thing. They can be unionized. They can provide better benefits and resources. They can have connections and infrastructure and a larger volume of workers. At a studio, you can divide the labor and produce more in less time. Longer episodes, longer seasons, more consistency in quality.
But this comes with all of the disadvantages of having more in the kitchen.
The alternative is indie animation.
With indie animation, you have total freedom. Full artistic control. It doesn’t even matter if your idea sucks ass, because there’s no one to tell you you can’t make it. You could make it anyway, and you can make it whatever you wanted.
The thing is, making animation is hard. In my production class last semester, the average maximum animation one person could make in that timeframe was 30-60 seconds, and that’s not even counting background design, sound design, or cleanup/color. To make a 5 minute animated short, you should probably have at least 5 people.
And it is CRUCIAL you have a production manager. Ideally someone who’s not already doing art for the project. Most projects without a production manager will fall apart pretty quickly. Once the adrenaline and impulse-fueled motivation wears off, you need someone to hold you accountable and enforce deadlines and proper time management.
Speaking of time, that’s also hard to get. The more people you have, the more likely schedules won’t line up. Most people will have school, or other jobs.
And it costs MONEY!!!!!! You either have everyone work for free and volunteer their time & energy, or you establish a business as a proper indie studio, with people who may or may not have experience on how to handle paying someone else’s salary. And the money has to come from somewhere, so you have to rely on crowdfunding like patreon or kickstarter. (This, by the way, is why I could never fault an indie animation for releasing merch with their pilot.)
And like, maybe you wanna do a series, and all your friends agree to volunteer their labor and time to make the first episode, but it was unanimously not sustainable. Deciding not to produce a second episode until you can raise enough money is not being suddenly greedy, it’s attempting to compensate people rather than expecting them to be continuously taken advantage of.
You have to consider your output as well. There are some outliers like Worthikids, who afaik does all his animation himself, and afaik can work on it full-time thanks to his patreon subscribers. And he still has only produced a total of 30 minutes of animation (for Big Top Burger specifically) in the past 4 years. This is an IMPRESSIVE feat and this is with using a lot of 3D as part of his pipeline!!
Indie animation also has the complication of being more accessible for fandoms. When you’re posting your Official Canon Content on youtube, it doesn’t look a lot different than the fandom-created video essay in the sidebar next to it. What’s canon vs what’s fanon becomes less distinguishable. The boundaries are blurrier. When the creator is just some guy you follow on twitter, it’s easier to prod them for info regarding ships and theories and word-of-god confirmation. They don’t have a PR team or entire international tv networks to appeal to. And this is when creators get frustrated that their fans snowball and turn their creation into something they don’t recognize (and no longer enjoy) anymore.
So it’s tricky.
Thankfully, the threshold to learn animation is fairly low nowadays!! There are TONS of resources online to learn it on your own without forking over a couple hundred thousand to a private art college. There are conventions and discord servers and events where you can network, if you know where to look.
I know it can seem discouraging in the face of capitalism, but I think that’s all the more reason why it’s so important to BE DETERMINED about animation!! We’re already starting to see the beginning of an indie animation boom, and I think it’s a testament to humanity’s desire to tell stories and create art. Even if there’s no financial gain, we do whatever it takes to tell our stories anyway.

I'm getting so tired of the fnaf fandom excusing all of Scott's horrible partnering choices with the whole "he probably didn't know" argument. it's quite literally his responsibility to do research before signing off on deals with his franchise and entering a partnership with another brand. not taking that time to do bare-bones research is problematic in its own way and shouldn't just be a "well, that's Scott!" moment.
if you care about Palestine, please do not support any of Jazwares collaborative designs with fnaf. they donate funds to the brothers for life charity (and more) that support the IDF. hold people accountable for their actions. at worst Scott is a zionist, and at very best he does absolutely 0 research on who he works with. it's wild how many times this issue comes up of trying to decipher his beliefs based on business decisions.

You’re ready to save time, energy, and resources by outsourcing your accounting services. But what’s the next move? How do you restructure your business to get the most out of outsourcing? In many situations, strategizing a new operational infrastructure can help you decide which accounting services to outsource. In other cases, you outsource based on need and then make changes afterward.

Straw Hats- Reversed AU HCs
AU: In which YOU are the character of a very famous franchise, and they are regular people who are fans of your series.
Note: GN!Reader, crack, very unserious
Luffy
Thinks you’re neat! Super cool!
People think he doesn’t really “get” you and just likes you for your awesome powers and/or cool appearance, but he drops like an innocent yet profound tidbit about you that shows he really is thinking of you.
Honestly probably only has a bootleg figure of you courtesy of Ace. It’s goofy as hell but he adores it.
Maybe has one of those printed graphic tees.
Ace and Sabo joke about his love for you but then Luffy throws his slippers at them.
If he sees anything with you on it, he’s just gushing over it.
Loves finding funny comics with you online.
Zoro
Guy who likes you for your powers.
The same guy who is also a weeb in front of the mirror and tries to replicate your awesome moves.
Help his roommates caught him-
I think he’d get those compression shirts/shorts with you or a symbol of yours for when he works out.
Also the guy who’s working out to your voice like those ASMR videos so he can pretend you’re praising him and congratulating him.
Gets into fights with Sanji about who’s the bigger fan.
I don’t see Zoro as the type to “collect” things, but he’d probably have a keychain of you around his belt or something as a good luck charm.
Might even have an action and poseable figure of you like a Figma.
Nami
Likes you lots, but also recognizes your merch potential.
Works alongside Usopp to produce fan merch or zines for you to make money.
Has a unique piece of jewelry with your symbol/iconography to wear.
She’s not wearing “obvious” for merch, because she just isn’t about that.
Probably has a few very expensive figures of yours that are special edition or anniversary editions that she managed to get at a steep discount.
Reads a bit of fanfic but tends to mostly peruse fanart of you.
Tends to have multiple ships for you- she doesn’t really favor one over the other she just thinks they’re interesting.
Likes to do cosplays of your fits, though. She’s gotten very popular for her lovely cosplays. She tends to handmake most of her cosplays, but Usopp and Franky add to the amazing accessories.
Plays the gacha game for your series, and her amazing luck means she gets practically all your units easily.
Usopp
The artist of the group who has seen and had to do heinous things for a commission.
Unlike the others, he IS making a self insert and HE IS DOING ART AND COMICS WITH YOU AND HIM AS THE MAIN COUPLE!
Has made a name for himself of making doujins and art for you. His store has seen lots of purchases for his doujins.
Nami basically is his account manager and has made him raise commission prices many times in order to pay their rent and so he can realize how valued his work is.
He mostly just posts his work but does like answering questions from fans and posting about how awesome you looked in the new episode.
Always making art and stories from you.
Has done fanfiction for you but it’s mostly with his OC/SI and his artwork tends to be more well-known.
Always does special drawings for your birthday and various holidays.
Plays the gacha and has bad luck so he has to whale for your unit. He insists he prefers just regular console or PC gaming instead of gacha.
Sanji
Number one fan, he WILL get into arguments about you and inject you into everything.
All your figures, all your merch, all of it in one specific room dedicated to you. Sanji even has a lifesize figure of you in a cool/cute pose he religiously cleans (and prays to ngl) every day because AINT NO WAY HIS LOVE IS GOING TO GET A SPECK OF DUST ON THEM!!
His work as a chef makes him busy, but he likes to wear small things of you like a brooch or something on his uniform to cheer him up through the day.
Makes videos cooking things you cooked or dishes you liked within the series.
He sometimes shows off his collection and Zoro calls him a loser and they get into fights in the comments.
Commissions art of you (probably Usopp) to hang up in the (Y/n) room.
I feel like he would do a persona/self-insert but also I feel like he’d be like no!!!! I cannot sully my beloved like that!!! So he focuses on just you.
Blocks people who are fans of you and does not like shipping anyone with you, hell no his mellorine is HIS!!!
Has done fanfic, mostly self-insert, and that’s pretty much all he reads. No ships.
Robin
“Oh, (Y/n)? Yes, they are an interesting character. I like them.”
[1 Million word count fic series, tagged: slow burn, character exploration, heavy angst, found family, Book 4 of 7]
“I just think they’re neat.”
Probably the mother fic writer for you and/or one of your ships.
Doesn’t socialize much online, just tends to post and scroll through the fics for you and answers comments under her fic.
Likes to support her fellow creators so she does look into the art and projects other fans have made.
Does try to create her own aesthetics for her blog and fics, but sometimes she just commissions Usopp to make her things for her fics to fit her vision.
Is really into unique and often abstract or “dark” art of you.
Yes you’re her favorite character, yes she will still make you suffer in her fics and art for the ~development~.
It’s a running gag with her peers where they ask her how she will torture them next.
She finds the Nendoroids of you are quite cute, so she bought one to go on her desk.
Franky
Franky likes making garage set figures of you.
He’s also a bit of a dork, so he will often make you pose with a super sentai outfit or large gundam robots (since they’re also a part of his crafting hobby).
Makes videos showing off the new figures he made of you.
He loves you cuz you’re his hero, you just amaze him!
Printed a photo of the art your creator did where you guys were all dressed like super heroes or something- suuuuppper up his alley and he loved seeing it.
He likes collecting the manga/comics for your series and keeps them on his personal shelf.
Franky also helps Nami/others with specific cosplay accessories. Franky is known for his craftsmanship, so he’s made plenty of cosplay gear for others that are above and beyond.
Him and Usopp have collabed to create the original figures of you that Franky adores.
Does those videos where he takes cheaper/smaller figures of you and adds to the base and design to make it more “epic”.
What the hell is “fanfiction”?
Brook
Goes by the username “Soul King” and uploads his covers of your franchise’s music.
He really loves you though so he’s often rocking your shirts while he’s recording the music.
He does a lot of different genres for your theme covers- jazz, heavy metal, lofi, piano, music box- he’s done em all.
Whenever he’s not recording covers of his music and does streams, he very proudly shows his figure of you and a poster he has hanging up on his wall.
Also plays the gacha game, has pretty good luck but never with your units.
“Wow! 5 Sugo-rares! Who are they- GOD DAMN IT IT’S JUST THE OTHERS!!! RATE UP IS A LIE!!!”
Brook is a menace though and I’m gonna keep that under wraps for various reasons.
Maybe in the future I might explain further.
Jinbei
Jinbei is classy, unlike many of the others here (we will not name names).
He’s more likely to “make” his own merchandise for you.
Handmade doll with a lovingly sewn kimono, for example.
Fancy tea set that is painted with your symbols but it’s so subtle and chic that some of his viewers don’t even realize it’s from some random franchise he likes.
He prides himself on his traditional and handmade crafts and you’re just an avenue to experiment with them.
He likes to design the kimonos and outfits with you in mind and the season. He shows the process of creating it in these calm and quiet BTS videos.
Really they are beautiful and the amount of love and skillmanship put into the work he does is fantastic, it’s awe inspiring.
Does not know what a fanfic, a gacha, or what a “fan edit” is. He’s an old man he’s got things to do, man.

- I want to kiss your lips!
Tumblr media
Please read!
Softie!Abby Anderson x fem!reader - Modern Au, Comedic, fluff
Word count: 1k
You and Abby now enter a serious relationship, after months of Abby courting you- it was all worth it the moment you held her hand and professed your hidden love for her under the fireworks on Christmas Eve, Abby was shocked to even hear that! And so, both of you spent the evening, fingers interlocking never wanting to drop her hand. Romantic, isn't it? after that, everything has been steady. Cuddling during romcoms, and dinner dates-- you both have already gone through the "meet with parents" stage! Your relationship with each other has been all but a breeze.
While you ponder at your desk, a question drops from your train of thought...
Both of you only kissed once! wtf! You abruptly leave your seat, mouth agape, and hurriedly count your fingers
'one... two...'
THREE FREAKING MONTHS!? AND NOT A SINGLE TOUCH ON THE LIP!?
You don't know whether to laugh or cry. Sure, you pecked each other's cheeks once, and she does forehead kisses sometimes, but nothing more than that! Sure, you could go with the flow and wait for the moment to bloom... but still, both of you should be glueing each other's lips by now!!
or... maybe you're being too needy, this is your first relationship after all. 'Am I being needy?'
maybe! ... I actually don't know, I'm only writing this.
You groan in frustration and plop yourself back down to your chair, and suddenly a knock was heard at your door.
"_? you there?"
Oh crap, you forgot Abby said she mentioned staying over your dorm on the weekend.
"Just... a minute!" You yell as you groom your hair, and put a bit of chapstick on before you open the door. You see her in her iconic braid, white polo shirt, and earth-green cargo pants. And all you put on the table are just pajamas... But unbeknownst to you, this made Abby's heart tingle.
"Sorry for making you wait! um... chores!"
Abby chuckles and ruffles your hair, her lips forming a smile as she stares at you, "You do remember that I'm coming over today, right?"
"Oh! AHAHAHAHA-" you burst out while repeatedly patting Abby's shoulder, "...no."
"Ah," Your sweetheart replies, her eyes almost drooping down before she lifts herself up. "Well, are you busy?"
"NO!"
You cough, "I mean, no... not busy, completely free even!"
She takes a while to process your expressions, which is... not so like you, and her state looks as if her tail droops down.
"I feel I'm bothering you..."
"No, no! You cry out, sorry- I was just pondering about something and got completely startled.", Your eyes pan over hers, "Are you... angry?"
Abby sighs and smiles gingerly. Leaning down at you, she places her love on your forehead and shakes her head, "Of course not, just wanted to make sure I wasn't hindering your plans."
A smile tugs your lips, and your hand extends as you reach for hers, inviting her inside.
"So, what's your game plan, Anderson?" She chuckles and raises the hand you held, her lips tenderly brushing on your knuckles, making your cheeks warm and flushed.
"I was thinking... we watch the new 'savage starlight' franchise."
Your eyes light up at the news, "There's a new movie!?"
"Yes! Abby chuckles, I bought it on my netfl*x account."
"Wow, look at you- so updated, and here I thought you were so focused on your studies." You say, a brow jerked up and your mouth tugged to a smirk. Abby looks up above, avoiding any gaze, "Um... I just stumbled upon it, I swear!"
You let out a hearty laugh and pinch her pale freckled cheeks. She closes her eyes in response. "Ow"
"That's what you deserve!"
☆-☆-☆-☆ "Uhm." Abby blurts, prolonging the letter m for at least 3 seconds. "Oh..!" You respond, your tone as if you're almost gonna burst out from laughing.
It seems like, Abby 'Let's watch the new franchise' Anderson bought the wrong movie, and now both of you are stuck on thinking about doing anything fun. "We can play... board games?" You say, patting yourself on the shoulder in your silly head. "Definitely, we should do that."
so you did, but playing 'Mon*poly' with only two people can start to get... draggy. Abby jumps, pointing at the board with her face completely lighting up. "You landed on my train station!"
"Oh come on! I'm absolutely broke!"
Abby slyly slips a "You could sell one of your properties to me" in her mouth, making you feel as if you just popped a vein. "Can I at least pay with a different method!?"
"You can kiss me."
oh.
oh...
oh!
"Sure" You smile, catching her a little off guard.
She leans slightly forward, and you do the same. Abby almost lands her lips on your cheek till you avoid it by looking just straight through her soul.
'huh?' Abby thinks to herself.
She attempts to place a peck on your forehead and you do the same thing again.
Another attempt on your right cheek, you face her, again.
'!?' This time, Abby's extremely confused.
"Do you... not want to kiss me?" She mutters, her eyes almost teary. "What!?" Your eyes widen in shock, your face flushing with embarrassment. "No," you attempt to defend yourself, although you already see tears streaming down Abby's face. "Am I disgusting...?"
It feels like your throat refuses to let out any sound, processing the most unbelievable view you have ever seen. Without a word, you express yourself through action, hand cupping her face, and leaning in to kiss her lips. Abby's eyes widen in surprise before she melts into the moment, kissing you back with a little intensity going on with it.
before you let the moment go too deep, you push her away, making a weird 'pop' sound.
You take in the features before you, and you laugh. "Abby, you look like a pufferfish right now."
"You too," She smiles gingerly, her palm landing in yours.
And you spend the rest of the moment, giggling. Lost in the touch of each other's warmth. <3

pretentious(?) cinephile patrick zweig.
call it a college au i guess
technically, he's a business student. he's just minoring in cinema studies, which was your major. you always hated the business school kids that came into your literature class (because film is literature) and thought it would be easy. and then they'd be surprised that they were failing because they didn't do the readings and when they participated, it was with shallow commentary. you don't even want to recount how many racist, misogynistic, queerphobic things were said in the class (in general too).
which is why patrick zweig pisses you off.
patrick zweig actually loves film. and unlike the other business boys, he understands that wolf of wall street is a cautionary tale.
"i wouldn't want to end up like him." he said. "doesn't mean i can't enjoy the movie."
patrick zweig actually has good taste in film. okay, maybe not "good" taste because "good" is always subjective. he's a bit of a film snob. you can't believe that he likes Jeanne Dielman, 23, quai du Commerce, 1080 Bruxelles. you really hated the movie, mostly because it felt like an eternity. that might have also been because you were high watching it. sometimes weed has that effect.
at first glance, he seems like the kind of guy to dismiss foreign films because of subtitles. except you learned that he regularly consumes—and seeks out—foreign cinema. he grew up on foreign cinema.
"my dad's big into french films. that's how i started watching them." he explained to your french cinema professor.
you swear he's in every cinema studies class possible. and he recognizes you too.
"excited for this semester (y/n)? i'm looking forward to the syllabus."
now, patrick being patrick, he mostly skims the readings. rarely does he closely read. he finds himself getting distracted easily. and it's not really helpful with the multiple times you've worked with him whether it's as discussion leader or doing a group project.
there's the rare occasion you've seen patrick zweig in business class. and to say the least, he looks miserable. sometimes, he's so bored that he's doing the readings for your class.
"why don't you switch majors?" "because business school is just to appease my parents."
you don't 100% believe his answer. or maybe he's right in thinking that it will appease his parents. you're not all too knowing about his home life. you guys just have class together. until...
"wanna smoke?"
a joint before your screening. you guys were watching Spike Lee's School Daze for the race and american film class. he's never seen it. you have. maybe the colors will pop even more if you took a hit.
"sure."
so you guys find the smoke corner and light the joint. you inhale and make small talk. patrick zweig isn't the asshole he seems to be. he carries himself with such douchebaggery that it seems to be a defense mechanism. and you learn during that smoking session that he isn't really pretentious. he's just really passionate.
"i hate Prometheus." he says. "what? how can you hate Prometheus? Prometheus is so good! it's like right up your alley!" you cough as you inhale. "listen, i may be a film snob. and sometimes i can be an asshole about it. but ridley scott is a bigger asshole than me." patrick takes the joint to inhale. when he blows, the smoke sort of billows around him. it frames his frankly gorgeous face. "lean into the haunted house of the Alien franchise. don't try to turn it into something deeper when it already had such interesting themes."
School Daze was a watch. patrick had a lot of thoughts, but he seemed to barely express them in class. he saved it for his letterboxd review.
"you have letterboxd?" "duh." he glances at you as you guys are walking to the bus stop. "what's your username?" "ppzweig." "you can't be serious. that's so immature of you!" but also so on brand for patrick zweig. "i made the account a long time ago okay! i'll follow you back if you follow me."
so you do follow him.
you learn quickly that patrick reviews for nearly every movie he watches. the exception are rewatches (if there isn't anything left to say) and films that just didn't really interest him or were terrible. oh and you see through his reviews that he really hates tarantino. actually very surprising! patrick always had something to say though. you loved terrorizing him when he walked into class.
"hey so why did you rate Alien: Resurrection four stars?" "what happened to hello? how are you?"
side note: i did make a top 10 list of films that i think patrick would have. idk how character accurate this is but he strikes me as such:
Jeanne Dielman, 23, quai du Commerce, 1080 Bruxelles (1975)
Trainspotting (1996)
Night of the Hunter (1955)
Citizen Kane (1941)
Amélie (2001)
A Clockwork Orange (1972)
Boogie Nights (1997)
Taxi Driver (1976)
The Wolf of Wall Street (2013)
Lady Snowblood (1973)

The story of a (soon-to-be) Princess Consort who uses her cruel husband's hands holding the sword to relieve the heat on her cheeks
Tumblr media
(Image taken from manga illustrator Hinoki Kino's IG. It's kinda related to this short story.)
This is a bonus short story written by Touko Amekawa for the 7th Time Loop anime! I got the title from this post by Amekawa. It’s set on Rishe's 7th loop, and it's all about Arnold and Rishe... flirting in winter. Hehe.
Disclaimer: This translation is made by me for fandom purposes only. This unofficial translation is not affiliated with the official 7th Time Loop franchise. All rights reserved for 7th Time Loop to its respective committees, committee members, staff, author and rights holders.
The bonus short story can be found in Touko Amekawa's Notes blog, but as the entry is now deleted, she also reposted it in her Twitter/X account!
I’m posting my Ko-Fi here as currently, I’ve been having financial troubles, so if anyone can donate, I would be much grateful for the help, thank you very much.
Tumblr media
"So in Galkhein, during the first month, a festival is held during the harsh winter in order to implore spring to come, isn't it?" As Rishe spoke in that manner, the pleasant sound of a writing pen then stopped.
As Arnold was busy on his desk with his official duties, he stared at Rishe, who was now seated on the chaise longue across him. This was where Rishe sat every time Arnold was at his office working on his official tasks.

(Images from the 7th Time Loop anime opening. Rishe isn't asleep in this story, though.)
"What are you reading, a book about official events being held in this country?"
"Yes! I borrowed it for my studies, and I find this book well-written and very interesting!"
Arnold's attendant, Oliver, was very quick at his duties, and whenever he saw Rishe showing even a hint of concern [on something], he would immediately make prompt arrangements.
When she thanked him for giving her the book, Oliver smiled naturally and said, "My Lord ordered me to immediately give you anything you want, Lady Rishe."
"When a country can hold a large-scale festival like this in winter, it's evidence of how prosperous this country is. It's fantastic."
The sound of cicadas and the summer breeze blowing through open windows. The view seen through the window would was really beautiful, even in spring and summer.
Just imagining the view in Galkhein's autumn and winter was enough to make one's heart leap in anticipation.
Though before that, there were things she needed to check, it seemed.
"During the festival, are there any public duties you, Your Highness, and I need to perform?"
"Don't worry, there isn't any need for that. ―――――And if there is, we don't need to participate."
"Great! It's a relief we won't be doing any exhausting work there." Relief now gave way to increasing anticipation. "Then, Prince Arnold! What kind of food stalls would you like for us to go to?"
"……?"
Arnold then wore a slightly suspicious look, so she continued to add. "If we don't think carefully the order of the food stalls we're visiting, we might get too full in no time. I want to check out all the stores you might think of visiting, Prince Arnold, so I must plan this efficiently!"
"........."
"Since we're going there in secret, why don't we buy new cloaks for the festival? It will be fun if you and I get cloaks of matching design, Your Highness!"
While the color of Arnold's eyes and hair were very distinct, the opposite went for Rishe, [with her eye and hair colors] being pale. Them already standing side by side made them quite a pair, so if they wore matching garments, it would be interesting to see.
"It's written on this book that many restaurants offer special menus during the festival! Like that restaurant you and I went to on our secret trip the other day, Your Highness. The food there was so delicious, by all means, I want to go there again during the festival!"
"......Well, if you don't mind."
"Thank you very much! Is there any place you want to go to, Your Highness? I'm happy to accompany you there, together......"
"........."
"Prince Arnold?"
As he expressionlessly stared at her, Rishe tilted her head, puzzled. Arnold then said something.
"You really don't have hesitation."
"Hesitation?"
Arnold stood, walked to the chaise longue where Rishe sat, then sat down besides her.
"―――Within you."
Arnold's sea-blue eyes focused on Rishe.
Rishe's face was reflected on his eyes as he blinked.
Arnold gave her a soft gaze, his fingers playfully running through her coral hair.
"You spending time with me like this will be a natural future."
"~~~~…...?!"
As he pointed it out, she felt her cheeks warm immediately. "B-b-but, that is...!"
"'That is'?"
As she tried to object, she became embarrassed of her unconscious assumption.
Of course, it was natural Arnold was there with her in the festival scene she imagined.
(Simply put, I want to be with him there, but if this continues, His Highness might find that out......!)
Averting herself from Arnold's gaze, Rishe managed to reply.
".....By the first month, when winter arrives, we will be an officially married couple......"
Why did she feel too much embarrassed after saying such an obvious thing?
(I-I don't think I can fool him at all......!)
To cool her flushed cheeks, she took Arnold's hands while he was still caressing her hair gently.
Pressing his hands against her cheeks felt cool and comfortable.
".....Rishe."
"Ugh......"
Believing that Arnold's cold hands would cool her burning cheeks somewhat, she barely manged to utter an excuse.
"From now, I-I'm looking forward to winter! Festivals... I love festivals!"
"......I see."
Would Arnold's hands get colder in the winter?
She was worried now that his fingers might get frozen while he was holding a sword.
Rishe hoped to give Arnold a pair of gloves way before the winter festival arrived.
As she got distracted by such thoughts, it took her a few seconds to realize how embarassing it was for Arnold's hands to be pressed on her cheeks.

hey!! ty for posting about the article talking about continuation of aa. I don’t know as much about the production of aa5 and 6 but you mentioned a person names Eshiro being responsible for the “no spoilers” rule being replaced. what/who is that? just in general giving u the floor to rant about aa5 and 6 beyond what u were able to say in that post and ur hopes for the future 💙✨ ok bye! :)
hiya!! (post here)
So, the story of why aa5 and aa6 are so different to aa4 basically boils down to a change in the team making it (and Eshiro was part of this).
Most people know Shu Takumi wrote and directed the original trilogy of Phoenix Wright games and then worked on Apollo Justice (although the director was technically Mitsuru Endo, people tend to think of AJ as the last "Takumi" mainline game). After that, he left the Ace Attorney team to complete and release Ghost Trick in 2010, and then he became involved in the development of Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright, which released in 2012.
While he was doing all of this, a "secondary" Ace Attorney team had arisen to keep working on the franchise - they had almost all worked on previous AA games and in 2009 and 2011 they were able to release the two Ace Attorney Investigations games.
The two most well-known members of this "team" are the producer Motohide Eshiro and the director Takeshi Yamazaki, and the fact that AAI2 is so beloved shows that they are by no means unable to make really, really good Ace Attorney games. But, with Takumi still busy with his other projects, and a good few years having passed since AA4, this team was asked to create a fifth Ace Attorney game in his absence.
This was, obviously, a challenge, and Capcom were likely in quite a rush to get a new mainline game out soon. Additionally, initial fan reception of AA4 was really not that good - many people hated the decision to disbar Phoenix in particular - and the game itself had many loose ends.
Eshiro, as the producer, decided that for AA5 it was better for the writers to not be held back by previous games, which manifested in what people think of now as the "no spoilers rule". This is why AA5 does not follow up on AA4, and likewise for AA6. Nowadays this decision is widely regarded as a very bad move, but on some level I empathise with it - AA has always been kind of reluctant to spoil past games, and you were always operating with the presumption that the player might be new to the series and wanted to go back to the previous games. Writing a follow-up that addressed AA4, while being acceptable to newcomers and not spoiling almost all of AA4's biggest twists, without the guy who originally came up with the story, would prove really difficult.
So they wrote Dual Destinies as a new story which followed AA4 but didn't really address it, and indulged in fanservice to try and restore the series status quo. It seems like the scenario changed a lot during development and they were pretty crunched for time, too - the final villain's models are apparently called FINALBOSS in the game files and completely broken if you look at them from any other angle.
After working on AA5, Yamazaki was apparently exhausted and didn't really want to make another Ace Attorney. Unfortunately for him, Shu Takumi was still off on his Sherlock & Souseki Victorian-Meiji Adventure, writing the Great Ace Attorney duology, and he wouldn't get done until 2017 when DGS2 came out.
Eshiro managed to persuade Yamazaki to work on AA6 by bringing him to conventions, and having seen the passion and overjoyed reactions from fans after AA5 came out, Yamazaki agreed to direct the sixth game, with Takuro Fuse (AA5 and 6's main artist) acting as co-director to ease the load. Some of AA6's cases were also created by guest writers; the SOJ artbook mentions a struggle for ideas, which explains the outlandish setting of Khura'in.
To the best of my knowledge (and I'm not sure this account is 100% accurate so anyone please feel free to correct me) this is why AA5 and AA6 are the way they are. Nobody is particularly to blame for how things turned out; there were just a couple of bad decisions along the way which has resulted in the games being looked back on by a lot of people with some contempt. Given the circumstances, I'm actually pretty impressed with how enjoyable Dual Destinies and Spirit of Justice are, even if they don't reach the heights of the trilogy.
Yamazaki left Capcom in 2019. Eshiro went on to produce Dai Gyakuten Saiban 2, and I'm pretty sure he's still at Capcom.
What all of this means for the next Ace Attorney title is completely speculation, but the short version of the story is that Shu Takumi has finally come back from getting milk Herlock Sholmes Jail writing other games, and seems to be getting hyped up by capcom as the "Director of the Ace Attorney Series". This makes it very likely he will direct and write the next Ace Attorney game. At present we have no idea what this means - he could follow up on AA4's story as well as he's able, he could write another Phoenix game, he might go rogue and write an Athena game, he might do something completely different. But the next AA game will likely be around the quality of AA1-2-3-4 and DGS, not another AA5/6 situation.
As for the producer, this comes from the November 2020 leaks (which was very real - it's where we first got the TGAA localisation confirmed), but the only thing we heard about their projected AA7 was that it would be produced by a guy called Yasayuki Makino. He also produced The Great Ace Attorney collection, and if you read his dev blogs from that release, he credits AA4 for getting him into the series initially, and generally seems to be a huge Ace Attorney fan himself, pushing hard for TGAA to get a worldwide re-release after its unimpressive initial sales (and look how well that's worked out...!)
That's basically the story. I think AA7 will be great, actually, but at this point I will literally take anything, Capcom please my family is starving

The anon who sent the malleus ask. While there are some characters in twst cast that I tolerate there is just the Octavinelle trio that I dislike significantly. There actions during book 3 just made my blood boil. Vil was also on that list but he managed to redeem himself somewhat in book 6. At least he apologised. Can't say the same for merfolk trio. I'm curious though. Despite what they were doing to everyone (especially yuu) they are still very popular within the fandom. Your thoughts?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
… Which Malleus ask?? I have several in my inbox and queue 💦
I think it's important to first establish that people do not always base whether they like/dislike a character based on the morality of the actions that character made in-universe. TWST is a game with a wide variety of characters, and a game which centers on both the good and the evil that they are capable of. Some characters apologize for their actions (Riddle with his apology tart, Vil at the start of book 6, Idia mumbles a sorry at the end of book 6), others don't or may have apologized off-screen (Jamil, Leona, Azul). We shouldn't expect them all to react to their issues in the same way, and nor does lack of a formal apology mean they do not feel remorse or aren't addressing their issues on their own way. For example, while we may not see Azul utter a "sorry" to anyone, we do see him and the twins changing up the business model at the Mostro Lounge after his OB, both in terms of food/drink sales and in terms of how to get one of his well-sought-after consultations. Many of the students, the OB boys in particular, do dubious things and that was a huge part of the advertising and marketing for TWST (and still is to this day); the franchise largely pulls fans who are interested in these types of narratives.
This brings me to Octavinelle. Was what they did scummy? Yeah. Do people have a right to judge them and dislike because of what they did? Also yes. But they remain popular anyway because the wrongs they committed are not the only things defining them. You have Azul's backstory, the complex friendship-business partnership deal between the trio, the very cohesive mermaid mafia theme--and, despite all the bad they've done, you can't also help but respect and admire them for the intelligence and planning it takes to carry out the operations that they do (+ using that asset when they return to help in book 4). Running a restaurant on their own AND Azul's... other business... while also being students and participating in clubs is nothing to sneeze at. They have redeeming qualities that fans love outside of being upset at them or holding them accountable for book 3.
I think what also helps to offset the evil of their actions in book 3 is the fact that it can be argued the 225 students they suckered "opted in" (and Yuu "opted in" too, it’s not like Azul forced them to sign). They came to Azul of their own free will seeking help, and Azul provided that help. He laid out the conditions and made them VERY clear, and it was the students who agreed to his terms and signed on the dotted line. Technically Azul did nothing "legally wrong" and played by the rules (respecting client confidentiality, taking advantage of loopholes), which is why Crowley cannot intervene. And, as Leona states later in book 3, anyone who falls for Azul's schemes is dumb and only has themselves to blame for thinking there is such an easy way out to their woes. Yes, it was dirty for Azul and the twins to interfere and/or set up the conditions in their favor, but there's also a degree of responsibility on the signers to read the terms and consider where the contracts may be deficient.
My point is, people will like what they like and it doesn’t solely come down to the righteousness (or lack thereof) of the characters’ behavior. I’d also say that behaviors themselves don’t always fall into “good” or “bad” categories. Azul’s contracts themselves are technically neutral. Other times, it depends on perspective. For examples, Malleus deems his actions in book 7 "good" but to everyone else it's "bad"--and the players, looking on, have to grapple with the dual nature of it. That's a discussion for another time though, I don't want to go too out of the scope of this ask.

I know I like never talked about this franchise let alone this show on this account before but, I’ve been watching A New Wish recently. Enjoying myself a lot btw it’s different from the original but, still fun.
Tho I wanted to point out something cus as you guys know I do love overthinking my goofy comedic cartoons hehe.
New Wish Spoilers under the cut
Ok so for anyone who has been watching through this show like I have you probably already have caught on to Dev and his daddy issues. It was very clear as soon as we got introduced (or I guess reintroduction cus Dale was in the og show technically? whatever it’s not that important) to his dad as the very first scene we get with the man is him dragging his 10 y/o son on business stuff. On a Saturday. Then low key shaming him for understandably wanting to not be there. After that he then proceeds to be a lying scum bag to get money from people who mean well.
This entire episode just Dale Dimmadome showing how money grubbing he is. Hence really painting a good picture of the person he is and kind of showing the type of guy Dev is being raised by.
Hell we even get this specific line towards the end of this same episode. For context this episode about a living trash bin Hazel accidentally wished up being used by Dale for a pro over consuming message. Now after Stanky the Trash Bin is convinced by Hazel to get rid of trash they run off. With Dale running out from his front door, with Dev right next to him btw, then I quote saying:
“Stanky don’t leave! Oh you’re like a son to me.” With Dev sighing loudly.
Like wow man he’s right there.
Tumblr media
Not to mention this part in “Peace of Pizza”. Where Hazel tries to convince Dev with a fake version of Dale. It’s just Cosmo but, it’s so obvious from this dialogue and even the background music that he thought that was his dad and that Dale seemingly doesn’t spend much time with this kid.
Tumblr media
These are like two examples that were highlighting this. Dale Dimmadome is kind of a fuck ass dad from what is shown. So I do wonder when watching through “A New DEVelopment” and getting to this point then noticing how quiet he is as soon as the principal comes in to scold them.
Now like I said earlier I’m probably just overthinking this or something but, noticed before she came into the scene Dev was talking with the teacher perfectly fine. Then she starts yelling at them and it’s Hazel that takes lead to explain what they were doing. Which was weird to me cus Dev up until this point came off as I guess a principle’s pet of sorts. We saw it in “28 Puddings Later” and kind of “Prime Meridian Love”. While every interaction she’s had with Hazel however it is the same with any other kid.
Idk so um random thought does like Dev get really quiet when he’s shouted at or something cus his fuck ass dad has a habit of yelling at him when he messes up? Idk just what I was thinking ever since I saw this specific episode.
