no but u have to consider the potential hilarity going on with an unrequited gravesoap + background soapghost in the making.

graves having 0 clue that soap is taken. soap thinking its too funny to tell graves that he’s got a man already so he doesnt. ghost trying to tell graves about it but he and soap keep holding each other back from telling graves jackshit because of miscommunication. disaster ensues

why isnt everyone writing about Ghost and Graves fighting for Soap's attention?

They literally never leave him alone. If its not Ghost following him around everywhere, then its Graves. Or both.

He doesnt mind it, he likes spending time with both of them and when it gets a little too suffocating he just locks himself in his room, or in Price's office. (Price is well aware of the situation between Ghost and Graves, so they are not allowed in his office while Soap's in there. "Go solve your differences elsewhere. Leave the poor man alone for once").

Graves is totally the type who searches "how do i win someone over another guy" and follows all the tips.

Ghost finds it stupid and unnecessary, tho he might have checked one of those websites too. Just to study his opponent's tactics, of course.

gravesoap will never surpass ghostsoap in my mind but you know what I kinda get it. it’s kinda. mm yeah I get it now. ugh corny smarmy touchy American + unrequited love + blustering irritating endearing in a way that gets under your skin + yes you’re a moral sellout but you’re a professional and that’s what they don’t understand. they are so obsessed with each other and preoccupied with themselves that they lose track of the mission, the bigger picture. that’s how you know you are the bigger person, that they are really just little men in masks and gear and so damaged that they don’t know what’s up from down. they have been living and breathing their own air for too long and your job is your job, giving them a wake up call is just a bonus. eye contact quips physical touch, it’s the little things that keep you all going and you know that better than most, it’s like corralling children sometimes or herding sheep. the job is lying the job is politics the job is killing and getting your own feet on the ground and fixing problems. you’re a professional. hnngh yeehaw motherfuckers

Imagine Soap and Graves being together before Graves' betrayal.

During their missions, Soap tells Ghost all about his relationship with Graves, how in love he is with him, how he imagines their life together will be when they retire, etc etc.

Ghost notices from the start how Soap's face lights up every time he sees Graves or talks about him. He even begins to think that maybe he too wants someone who feels about him the same way Soap feels about the commander.

And so, when they arrive at Los Vaqueros base and he sees so much confusion on Soap's face as the man he did nothing but love shoots him directly, he can feel nothin but pure rage.

In Ghost's mind, Graves is the stupidest man on earth for what he did to Soap. He just destroyed the relationship he had with a man anyone would feel extremely lucky to be with. Who would do something like that? Absolutely not him.

Everything happens too fast, they both manage to escape separately. Ghost, concerned for Soap's physical and mental state, does everything possible to help him get to his location safely.

When they finally meet, they escape again from Graves and his men but this time together and with a car heading towards Alejandro's safe house.

Halfway, when they are no longer in danger, Ghost stops the car.

"Johnny..."

"I'm okay." But he's shaking and he cant hold back the tears anymore.

Ghost wraps him in his arms, letting him cry on his shoulder. Soap looks so small and weak clinging to him as if his life depended on it. He never thought he would witness something like that and he doesn't like it. He doesnt like it at all.
