I didn't even wrote any actual story here, one day I will but I need to say this.
Tumblr media
How come that in 5 SEASONS and 1 CHRISTMAS SPECIAL they couldn't portray a healthy or decent relationship between Marinette/Ladybug and Chat Noir/Adrien and ruin their characters the more it kept going while THIS MASTERPIECE
Tumblr media
Literally did EVERYTHING right.
From the characters (Marinette and Adrien) personality, the way they interact with each other, Marinette not being confident in a bully kind of way but actually standing up for herself, Adrien trauma caused by his mom death and his father having this kind of Disney villain vibes (it reminds me of Dr. Facilier from The Princess and the Frog) mixed with the Phantom of the Opera and he have a more interesting personality as a villain.
Also the rivalry and when they start to "fight" each other on the rooftoops literally made me feral, pretty much like this.
Tumblr media
This movie literally did what the show couldn't do with the story and characters to make it good and you can't change my mind, even the relationship with Alya and Nino is cuter because the interest is there from the start, everything felt so natural between the characters interaction and their chemistry (both Alya/Nino and Marinette/Adrien) was so good I wanted to cry.
I gave up on Miraculous (show) because of how Marinette suck (stalker, obsessive, creepy, pretty much a mary sue who might not be rich but is still spoiled and never actually learn her lesson or always gets what she wants even when she shouldn't) and how they ruined my favorite boy Adrien (from starting as a boy who just wanted to make friends and experience the world to become somewhat of a brat, somewhat of a bad person and spoiled too who act childish because he got rejected), this movie in comparison to the show is way better and I'm glad they fixed all the problems from the show and the crush from Marinette side for Adrien is just way better, also Alya doesn't encorauge her stalking tendencies here.
I loved how they didn't make the Chat Noir/Marinette scene when they are both heartbroken and just made them reject each other in different "forms" like in the show and quickly move on from who they loved because the other understand the pain.
Maybe it looks better than Marinette x Adrien or Ladybug x Chatnoir but at the end of the day it's still the same people using different names.
Whatever issue they had with one person (example Ladybug not liking Chat Noir and the arguing after the rejection) will mix up with the other (Adrien) and change how you've seen that person until now completely, so in the end making Marinette fall in love with Chat Noir after rejecting him as Ladybug and making Chat Noir fall in love with Marinette after being rejected by Ladybug and him "rejecting" Marinette as Adrien is just a messy thing to do in my opinion.
Making them just reject each other without making Chat Noir fall in love with Marinette and vice versa is way better for when they actually discover each other identity because there isn't the same mess as in the show.
It's also true that Chat Noir was salty towards Ladybug at the rejection but he still did his job instead of complaining, sure he had to be called by Plugg and I still don't really like how he ignored the call for help because she rejected him, but he didn't know it was something way worse than the usual.
It still doesn't make it right but at least he didn't let the rejection take completely control over himself like in the show.
Chloe relationship with Sabrina and Marinette.
Sure it didn't gave the same development as in the show since she had less screen time but even there they did it surprisingly well.
At the end of the movie the two are actually somewhat friends with a friendly rivalry, Chloe doesn't try to stop her from getting to date Adrien.
I remind you that at the time Adrien was still thinking about Ladybug, Chloe backed away and let Marinette date Adrien despite she made clear since day one that she wanted to date Adrien, she clearly saw something that Adrien didn't notice in their relationship and she backed away to let them be together with the "threat" of taking him away from her next year, but it's obvious she won't.
Also despite she isn't exactly nice with Sabrina she still care as she's seen helping her after the attack with Hawk Moth.
Sure it still isn't a major character improvement since it happened off-screen but I can't really blame them since it's not a show and they didn't have time to focus on all the side characters.
Still at the end of the day Chloe was good and she didn't stop Marinette from talking to Adrien and let them be happy, because as I hope all of you know if you love someone you wish for them to be happy, even if that happiness means that you aren't part of it because they love someone else.
As for Hawk Moth himself, super cool, actually scary and feels like a actual threat compared to the show.
Also Gabriel still did suck as a father but at least he had emotions, the way they animated his expression, his pain, how you could clearly see the obsession of bringing his wife back having effects on him (you can clearly see him getting worse with time and he looks like a complete mess) instead of the show where you can't even tell the obsession is taking over him since he always acts the same way until he suddenly doesn't and decide to attack the city was amazing compared to the show.
In the movie the visuals for that were so cool, the music actually made it feel scary and the visuals too made it look actually dangerous and Hawk Moth didn't felt pathetic as a villain, he actually looked scary and dangerous.
Also the way they portrayed him and Adrien family relationship and how broken it was, how Adrien actually was affected by it and how you can see him actually care more than he does in the show was just amazing.
I still can't believe that in one hour they did better than 5 whole season and a special.
This kinda give me hopes for the other two seasons coming out but at the same time I'm afraid to expect something from it, it might even get worse XD
I want to specify something, as I already slightly mention it's true that the development for certain characters or ships lacked compared to a 5 season show, but here we are still speaking of a movie with a time limit that might never get a sequel.
Still if you tell me that Marinette/Ladybug x Adrien/Chat Noir have a better development in the show than the movie, the door is right here.
If you prefer them ok, that's your business.
However you can't tell me that stalking, creepy behavior, obsession is better than a somewhat rushed but with actual chemistry relationship between the two love interests.
I remind you that despite us adults/older than 8 years old people are watching this movie/show it's still mainly aimed for kids to watch.
I'm not here to do the "but what about the kids" kind of thing but this time I have to.
Miraculous the show suck because it teach that stalking, being creepy, not asking for consent and being possessive is good and that love happens for dumb reasons such as someone letting you borrow something, in short basic kindness.
Not to offend anyone but that's literally the concept of a Yandere.
The love story in the movie might be rushed but at least it doesn't portray a obsessive crush, it portray a normal crush between two middle/highschool students (depending on which dub you watch the show) which is kinda awkward because it's the first crush but also really sweet and innocent compared to the obsessive and unhealthy version in the show.
Does the Ship have more moments in the show?
Yes.
Does it make it good?
Absolutely not, the relationship in the show suck so much I can't even watch one episode if not the ones in which Adrien act like his episode 1 self (still kinda unsure but excited to make friends), when he becomes Chat Blanc or when they focus on characters that aren't Marinette (like Nathaniel and/or Marc focused episode, Juleka and/or Rose, Luka and/or Adrien etc.)
Obviously there's nothing wrong if you prefer the show, I've been there even if not with Miraculous.
I just don't agree with how the relationship is portrayed as romantic despite all the red flags in the show and the one in the movie might lack a lot of moments but it's still healthier than the one in the show and the characters are actually good.
However as I forgot to mention, this is just my opinion on the movie and show when compared to each other.
I'm not forcing anyone to agree with me and I respect your (whoever read this) opinion if you prefer the show, I don't agree with it as personal preference but I won't force you just because it's not what I like, so if you want to write why you disagree with my opinion feel free to do it, I don't dislike listening to other people point of views but I won't lie, I "gave" the show a lot of chances to redeem itself and I reached a point where I can understand, respect and listen to your opinion on why it's good but my mind won't change idea that easily/at all or agree completely with it, at most only partially.
It would be useless to lie and say that I agree with it when I most likely won't.

tv tropes on princess and the frog
Facilier actually demonstrates the fault with taking "the easy way out" in his very first scene, before he's even said a word of dialogue, both for himself and his unfortunate victim. The guy he gives the powder to has it work way too well, and ends up suffering for it. On Facilier's end, however, he sells off a powder for a single coin, and is then immediately shown to use it on a newspaper. Since he screwed the other guy over, he's not likely to see any repeat business… in essence, his scams ensure that he remains in Perpetual Poverty, despite having supernatural powers at his disposal. Were he to go legitimate and sell working cures, he could be quite successful, but he doesn't work any harder than he has to in order to make a sale. The guy screwed himself from the beginning.
Each person who makes a deal with Facilier ends up stuck in an Ironic Hell: The bald dude wanted hair, and ended up with so much of it that he looks monstrous to anyone who goes near him, making him look uglier than when he was bald. Naveen wants to escape responsibility and Dr. Facilier gives him that…at the cost of turning into a frog and losing the worldly many of the worldly pleasures he enjoyed. Lawrence wanted to become a big strong man after years of being pushed around. Instead, he's now pushed around by Facilier, who also treats him like a lowly servant, and when he's sent to prison, he'll be pushed around by the other prisoners and the guards. Tiana would've been trapped in one had she taken Facilier's deal: having the restaurant she wanted, but becoming too busy for friends or family. Facilier himself suffers one: he tried to offer the souls of New Orleans to his "Friends", and when he talisman is shattered, his "Friends" take his soul as a prize.
Charlotte having a dress that happens to perfectly fit Tiana may not be a coincidence. It is possible that she had that dress made for Tiana (especially since the dress was in blue and Charlotte only ever wears shades of pink and red) and was waiting for a perfect occasion to give it to her. Such as...a royal wedding.
Why was that talisman so fragile? The "Friends" gave it to Facilier as a trap. Either it survives the plot, and the Friends get their payday, or it breaks and the whole thing comes crashing down with it, and the Friends get to show Facilier what happens to people who don't pay their debts.
Doctor Facilier can't conjure anything for himself, and can only make something supernatural happen in the film when someone else makes a deal with him and lets him do so. While that keeps up with him being a Jackass Genie and his nature as a trickster, it could also have been a sign that the original deal he made with the Friends on the Other Side was a scam from the start. No Faustian Rebellion for him!
The film becomes a whole new level of brilliant if you think of the Friends on the Other Side as being an example of Dark Is Not Evil/Good is Not Nice, and were actually intending to take Facilier's soul and not the innocent people of New Orleans' playing a Batman Gambit. Facilier effectively ‘punishes' people who try to take an easy route out of their troubles: the bald man in the beginning, granting him hair that quickly spread to his entire body; Lawrence, who wanted to stop being pushed around by everyone, and got involved in Facilier's Evil Plan; and Prince Naveen, who wanted to solve his financial issues, and was turned into a frog. Near the end, he tries pulling that trick on Tiana too. His own downfall comes when he tries doing the same for himself — whipping up an Evil Plan to rise quickly through the socio-economic ladder, and offering his Friends on the Other Side a deal that would grant them a lot of souls quickly. The Aesop of hard work and diligence and avoiding shortcuts works here on multiple levels extra-well if you assume the Friends were effectively exploiting Facilier heading for a Hoist by His Own Petard situation.
Charlotte is quite literally the walking reincarnation of a loa, namely Mademoiselle Charlotte. The Other Wiki's article on Haitian Vodou regarding Loa deities says she is of European descent, symbolizes all white women and their mannerisms, is very formal, loves the French language, loves the color rose, and only helps those she fancies. Except Travis…
Eli "Big Daddy" LaBouff is a very big fellow, shall we say, who sure does love his beignets. Dr. Facilier's plot is to kill him by stabbing the heart of a voodoo doll once his daughter is wed to the fake Prince Naveen. This is certainly a pretty stealthy way to kill anyone, since no one would find a heart attack on a man LaBouff's size to be suspicious.
How did Tiana know what the "Shadow man" looked like when Naveen nor Mama Odie told her what Facilier looked like? Well, we know he went to the diner where Tiana worked at, so we can infer that Tiana met him and immediately felt something off about him, the implications are...a little scary.

Note
can you rank all these disney villians from most to least camp. with one sentence for each on why.
chronological list copied from wikipedia
Evil Queen(Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs)
Chernabog (Fantasia)
Queen of Hearts (Alice in Wonderland)
Captain Hook (Peter Pan)
Maleficent (Sleeping Beauty)
Cruella de Vil(101 Dalmatians)
Ursula (The Little Mermaid)
Jafar (Aladdin)
Scar (The Lion King)
Hades (Hercules)
Dr. Facilier (The Princess and the Frog)
1 - Ursula
She gets top spot cuz she’s based on the drag queen Divine. All the other disney villains are queercoded yeah but it’s the most explicit with her imo. Little Mermaid in general is such a sweet film that had a lot of queer people work on it (Howard Ashman <3) and they definitely camped Ursula up on purpose.
2 - Cruella De Vil
I mean her whole concept is so camp. An evil rich lady who wants to skin puppies for their fur. That’s so over the top and delightfully evil. Her look is stunning as well. Cruella was also based on another Camp Icon, Tallulah Bankhead. Old hollywood in general is considered camp now but Tallulah was camp even back then.
(imo both Ursula and Cruella are the campiest because they take what society deems abhorrent like self-centred independent women and just take it up to 100 on the cartoonishly evil scale)
3 - Captain Hook
Guy’s got beef with a 12 year old lol. He’s also over the top evil and the audience laughs at him instead of being scared for the most part. He’s a silly pirate and overall pretty campy.
4 - Jafar
While i do have my issues with Jafar, he’s pretty Campy. He’s practically a caricature of a greedy man and has a lot of fun being evil. He’s very camped up.
5 - Chernabog
Wow literally a perfect camp villain. Even though his appearances are very theatrical and over the top, there’s still an imposing and scary quality to it all. Very horror-esque camp i love it <3
6 - Maleficent
A classic over the top evil Disney villain but wow she’s so graceful! Nothing about her is comedic imo but she does the maligned witch thing so good. An evil woman doing evil things, that’s camp!
7 - Queen of Hearts
Alice in Wonderland is just plain weird and nonsensical (this is a good thing) so in theory she should be up way higher but idk i feel like the others have a better camp legacy. She’s an over the top homocidal queen like ofc that’s campy. Idk i feel like everyone after the first 2 can be interchanged.
8 - Evil Queen
she’s the first to do it! But maybe it’s cuz she was first she wasn’t as camp as the others. But even though she’s low on the list doesn’t mean she’s not camp! She’s been a camp icon for yearsssss.
9 - Scar
Scar’s probably the 2nd most queercoded villain after Ursula. And while “be prepared” was deliciously evil and campy, i don’t think any of his actions later on were enjoyable to the audience. He’s definitely a camped up Shakespeare antagonist but idk if he should be placed higher.
10- Dr. Facilier
Smooth talking witch doctor (with a great look). He’s the best classic Disney Villain we’ve seen over the past 30 years. but his overall campiness? hmm i’m not so sure it’s that high
11 - Hades
I feel so bad for placing Hades last because he’s one of my personal faves but again, comparing to the others, is he really that camp? Ik you might think he can take the Evil Queen or Maleficent’s spot but those two have such a rich legacy that Hades hasn’t had. He’s goofy and has tons of fun, but sometimes you can feel him winking at the audience. Ursula does that better and with more extravagance so 🤷🏻‍♀️

Was that [SEIRRA MCCLAIN]? Oh no no, that was just [PRINCESS TIANA], a [CANON CHARACTER] from [DISNEY]. They are [TWENTY FIVE] years old, use [SHE/HER], and [ARE] aware that they are not actually from Washington DC. Too bad they can’t stray from this city for long.
Tumblr media
Tiana has been in Washington D.C for about a year and owns Tiana’s Grub, a diner that sells not only New Orleans inspired dishes but dishes around the world.
Tiana is the protagonist of Disney's 2009 animated feature film, The Princess and the Frog. She is a gifted cook living in New Orleans during the Jazz Age, with dreams of opening a restaurant of her own. In a desperate attempt to achieve her goal, Tiana shares a kiss with a prince that had been magically transformed into a frog by an evil voodoo witch doctor. In doing so, however, Tiana also falls victim to the curse, setting off an adventure in the bayou to find a cure.
Tiana is loosely based on the unnamed princess from the Brothers Grimm fairy tale The Frog Prince. She is the ninth official Disney Princess and the most recent to originate from a traditionally-animated film.
Tiana has been in Washington D.C for about a year and owns Tiana’s Grub, a diner that sells not only New Orleans inspired dishes but dishes around the world.
Tiana is an intelligent, resourceful, and highly talented young woman. However, at the start of the film, and mostly throughout, she can be overly uptight and far too absorbed in work ethics to focus on relaxing, family, and friends. Though she notices this and appears to have some regret over her busy schedule, her obsession with bringing her dream of opening her own restaurant into fruition overshadows it all. She also, for the most part, has appeared to accept that over the years, as seen when she and Eudora visited the old sugar mill in the preparation of its purchase.
With a strong sense of honor and integrity, Tiana firmly believes nothing deserves to be obtained in the world unless it's done through hard work, a view she's brought up when dealing with her excessively dreamy and immature best friend, Charlotte La Bouff, as well as the party-loving Naveen. This fact also makes her somewhat inflexible, as she could have asked Big Daddy La Bouff for seed money for her restaurant instead of working extremely hard to slowly gain the capital necessary.
Aside from her workaholic nature, Tiana has another side to her; one that's passionate, imaginative, and ambitious. She enjoys humor, music, quality time with loved ones, and dancing (though not at first). She becomes excitable whenever mentioning her restaurant, lighting up when she does, as Naveen puts it, and although she initially had very little knowledge over romance, she values it highly once she starts to fall for Naveen, to the point where her restaurant was no longer the most important part of her life.
Tiana is also heroic and is shown to be quite capable of dangerous situations and moments of physical conflict. Throughout the course of the film, she continuously rescued Naveen from life-threatening situations, fending off predators within the bayou, and even Dr. Facilier and his hoard of sinister shadow demons. Her heroism is ultimately put into the forefront during the film's climax, where the city of New Orleans is hurdled into a high state of peril, with the only hopes of its survival being Tiana's own will-power and the aforementioned sense of honor.
She's also incredibly strong-willed and doesn't take lightly to being undermined or insulted by anyone. Despite her poor background, she sees something far greater in herself and jumps at every opportunity available to prove so, whether it be to the sleazy Fenner Brothers or the originally arrogant Prince Naveen, who initially looked down upon the woman because of her occupation as a waitress and uptight attitude, only to be proven there's far more to her than meets the eye.
Despite refusing his offer, Tiana is absolutely horrified watching Facilier get dragged to the voodoo world, even putting her hand over her heart in sympathy when spotting his gravestone.

Do you have any headcanons about Mama Odie being Dr. Facilier's mother? How they ended up on such different paths, him being sent to the Isle, and so forth?
And/or her relationship, therefore, with Celia and Freddie (and Uma, if you go by that headcanon too)?
Tumblr media
I honestly don't have many but I do have a few-- here we go. Also, warning, I tried my best to remain sensitive while talking about the voodoo in the movie but I'm not 100% how well I managed. So if you think I could word any of these points better, let me know.
The reason Mama Odie and Facilier had their falling out is because she refused to teach him the ways of Voodoo and the other things she had learned/had been passed on.
Why did she refuse, you may ask? Because she had seen it corrupt many-- like her husband-- and didn't want the same for her son.
She figured that by not teaching him, he'd be safe from the greed of his human nature and the power that learning voodoo brings.
She didn't take into account that jealousy and spite could also be corrupting or the fact that her son could learn it from elsewhere.
Which is exactly what Dr Facilier did.
Eventually, Odie found out that he had been learning it (either from himself or elsewhere) and they had a big fight about it.
Harsh things were said on both sides and it is now known as the Facilier big blow out.
Dr Facilier was 18. He left home and never came back.
While Mama Odie was 197 in the princess and the frog, Dr Facilier was alot younger.
Dr Facilier is older than he looks during the events of the princess and the frog-- while he appears to be in his 30s, he was actual about 53.
Dr Facilier's first name is Landen.
Odie is short for Odette but no one calls her Odette.
Mama Odie use to sing 'Dig A Little Deeper' to Dr Facilier when he was a small boy.
Dr Facilier spent his time after leaving home traveling and scamming people before eventually traveling back to New Orleans and keeping off the grid so his mother wouldn't find him.
Mama Odie became more of a friendly hermit after this-- barely leaving the woods after that.
Mama Odie always helped those who sought it-- even when Dr Facilier was young.
Dr Facilier loves his mama's cooking and use to watch her help others. Especially when she was using voodoo to help them.
Mama Odie never stopped loving her son and never stopped regretting their falling out.
She was heartbroken when her son was sent to the isle and was even more heartbroken when she found out that she had grandchildren.
Mama Odie learned from her mistakes with Landen/Dr Facilier and taught Opal of their heritage and a bit about voodoo and the risks and benefits of it.
Dr Facilier taught all his kids about their heritage and the other things he had learned but warned them to be careful because of his 'friends' on the other side. He didn't want his kids to suffer the same fate.
He has 6 kids depending on the universe we're speaking of-- in my Hannah Hook verse he has 6, in yours he has 3/4?, and so on.
Mama Odie has a good relationship with her daughter and granddaughters and is sad that she never got to meet Francis.
Meanwhile, her relationship with John is alot like her relationship with her son-- rocky.
Dr Facilier has trouble remembering dates-- he always has but after getting dragged by his friends from the other side to the other side it worsened.
And the malnutrition certainly doesn't help with it.
Which is why he has trouble remembering Freddie's birthday. He's very apologetic when he does forget, though, and always tries to make up for it.
Opal's relationship with her nieces and nephews is like that of a sibling relationship. Rocky and unpredictable.
Mama Odie's relationship with Uma can be a bit rocky at times as well because they're both stubborn but they get along better than others do. So that's something.
After the barrier is brought down, the 9 of them slowly but surely bulid/repair their relationships.
Mama Odie also grandmothers all their half siblings and friends, even though they aren't related to them. Because that's just the type of person she is.
She also teaches all the kids how to cook and a few other things she learned. She also loves listening to them sing and is often amused by their antics.

I know this is a criticism that almost EVERYONE has said by now, but man, neon was NOT the correct color keys to use for Alastor’s song.
Tumblr media
Who knows, maybe people weren’t bothered by it, because I certainly have seen many fans draw fanart of his neon version and say his song sequence was amazing, and I will admit, this isn’t necessarily.....a HUGE issue, it’s one of the smaller critiques, but I will say it’s an important one because it is just HILARIOUS how the mark was missed here. It’s clear Viv loves neon, as it’s showcased in Helluva Boss as well, and of course, I have nothing against neon either, and I will admit this isn’t bad to look at, the blue colors are nice to see after so much damn RED from this pilot, but it’s just....not the right character for this pick. I know people have heard this so many times, but I feel like the other reason Viv used neon was simply because Dr. Facilier from “The Princess And The Frog” used it in HIS musical number as well. I think we all know that Alastor is a rip off O-OH I mean “INSPIRED” by Dr. Facilier, and it shows as they’re both from Louisiana, both associate with Voodoo, both make deals ect. I don’t mind Viv taking “inspiration”, but just because you love neon so much doesn’t mean you need to use it all the time, ESPECIALLY with a character from a time period where COLOR IN FILM DIDN’T EVEN EXIST YET.
So yeah surprise surprise, if viv wanted to do this old timey musical number, black and white would have fit, or even these old vintage colors:
Tumblr media
This color filter was also used in old film at that time. It would have been so cool if Alastor had this old timey song with the scratchy film filter over as he sang and danced but.....nah let’s go with neon.
Also if I’m going to critique Al’s song in general, or at least the VISUALS, when I first saw the shot of Charlie and Al holding hands and wearing 1920’s clothing during Daria Cohen’s animation stream (because she was one of the people who did animation for the pilot) I thought that during Alastor’s song, we would be taken to a bunch of different locations, like maybe we’d see a city with flashing lights, maybe in a beach area, on a ferry boat, something like that where the backgrounds changed from location here and there, I thought it would have been interesting and visually striking, but instead we’re kinda just.......stuck in the hotel. Now to be fair the song ITSELF is about the hotel, but what we’re given visually isn’t really anything that special. Maybe it would have been grander if they showed Al and Charlie get pictures taken of them, and demons cheering and lining up to see the hotel. Then he could show the other sinners the life of luxury, like Husk at a casino, Angel on a stage, basically just eye catching various locations similar to how Charlie’s song was visually, BUT that’s just me.
But yeah, putting THAT aside, not ganna lie, his song wasn’t needed even if I wanted to see this big musical number with him. For one it’s short as heck, and two it’s kinda just there to have more pretty animation so we can see him sing. I’ve seen some people say it would have been better if Alastor sang Charlie the song to win her over, because in the actual thing he already DID win her over so it’s honestly pointless and yeah I agree. Maybe instead they could have had Charlie hesitant on letting him help, so he sings this big song explaining what HE would do and how the hotel would be if he joined. That would have been better, but instead he just sings......because he’s Al and Viv WANTED to have him sing. In fact, I don’t know if anyone knew this, but in a livestream (don’t ask me to find it because I have no idea which one) Viv confirmed that Alastor originally never HAD a song, she only did it because her friends really wanted to see him sing so......yeah. But ehh, what we got wasn’t bad at all,it just wasn’t needed really, and if you did want Al to sing, I’d much rather have it the way I explained lol.

During Halloween 2015 to 2018, at Tokyo DisneySea, a program called "Villains Recruiters" was held. While some of Disney's biggest villains have starred in events such as, the Fantasmic fireworks show and The Villains World parade. His faithful henchmen were sent to recruit people in some areas of the park.
The American Waterfront was the stage where these characters performed their speeches and jokes. Their sole purpose was to recruit humans into the world of villains, they also contained similar traits to their respective bosses, the Disney villains.
Sadly the event called "World of Villains", came to an end after four years in 2018. Recruiters had to say goodbye, not without the promise that they would return in 666 years, to seek out those who decided to join the World of Villains, in the Tower of Horror.
Tumblr media
sнσω
During their onstage moment, none of the recruiters disappointed. Making the audience laugh a lot, they showed off their poses and made funny comments, entertaining everyone.
Initially, a dance game was performed, the Six Pose Dance, its duration was between 15 to 20 minutes and took place every hour on the American Waterfront. Alongside two hosts, six of the ten henchmen strolled through the area.
In the game, each recruiter displayed a "Signature Pose" that represented them, after the hosts would speak the name of one of the henchmen, along with the recruiters themselves the audience would imitate the pose they were shown.
Everything started to get chaotic and funny when hosts started saying random things, and recruiters got lost trying to imitate everything that was said. At the end of the game, a person from the audience was called to imitate the poses next to the henchmen and then asked whether or not they wanted to join the world of villains.
If the answer was "Yes" the recruiters would cheer up and shout for joy, then invite the person to go to the Tower of Horror in 666 Years, where they would eagerly await him. However, if the answer was "No", they would cry out in disappointment, and the disgruntled henchmen would take the person back to their place.
In 2016/2017 one more show was added, the Villains One Point Course. In this game, two of the recruiters walked around the park while playing a sort of "Rock-paper-scissors", but you had to match the pose the recruiter was doing - which was almost always their own pose.
Soon two guests would be selected and their outfits would be judged by the two new hosts, who would offer them points that would make him a worthy villain.
Tumblr media
คмpн
The hosts are the ones in charge of presenting the show and taking care of the recruiters. There are four of them, want to meet them?
Tumblr media
°• Mr V •°
The main presenter of Six Pose Dance. Apparently, he was also in charge of the recruiters, as they all addressed him in a formal way. Despite his similarities, he has no connection with Dr Facilier, from The Princess and the Frog.
With a rather laid-back personality, Mr V looked more like a father watching his kids make a mess he didn't need to clean up. Despite this, he was shown to be quite possessive of his assistant Mrs Scatter, whom he refused to acknowledge as a true villain.
Tumblr media
°• Ms Scatter •°
As the show's human representative, she is constantly fawning over how beautiful and seductive the World of Villains is. Her goal is to one day join them.
In the early years she was clumsy and reckless, recruiters were always intimidating her, while Mr V controlled her. Then she became more confident, laughing with them as if they were equals and even standing up to her boss when they disagreed.
At the last show in 2018, Scatter secretly revealed to the audience the mark of a true villain, when everyone else was gone. That means she's formed a true villain, without Mr V and the recruiters knowing.
Tumblr media
°• Ms Villa •°
One Point Course presenter and self-proclaimed fashion diva of the World of Villains. Villa is quite and laid-back while hosting her show, constantly ignoring her assistant's screams.
Villa is elegant and mature, giving the audience fashion advice on how to improve their outfits. She is also shown to be quite motherly towards recruiters, giving them nicknames and treating them like children. Even though she has the appearance of a welcoming person, she takes the audience by surprise at the end of the show, where she demands payment for her services.
Tumblr media
°• Mr Polite •°
Mp or Polite, is Villa's assistant during the One Point Course. Despite being more organized than Scatter, he spends much of the show screaming about his boss.
When free from his chores, he is sneaky and playful. Mp gets along well with recruiters, who treat him like a personal assistant, however he doesn't seem to mind at all. But particularly, he gets along better with Dalmatia, who he usually promises to take a walk around the park after the show.
Tumblr media
We close the first part with the hosts, soon the second will be posted with the male recruiters, finally the third with the female recruiters.
[None of the photos used above were photographed by me! I took them off the internet, unfortunately i couldn't find who photographed them. If these photos belong to you, feel free to let me know, I'll remove them or - if you allow - I'll give you proper credit]
Bye bye everyone!!!

The barrier had fallen. The villains and their children were set free from the Isle.
Well, not all the villains, of course. Some of them had committed crimes too awful to allow themselves to be set free.
Also, account had to be taken of crimes committed on the Isle. For instance, Anthony Tremaine was filing multiple charges of child abuse against his aunt and his grandmother, one each for himself and his sisters and cousins.
But some villains, the ones who had had enough, who had learned their lesson, who desired neither revenge nor power but simply a normal life-or so they said-were released from the Isle.
Like Dr. Facilier, who had returned to New Orleans.
There were rumors, whispers, glimpses in the shadows. A few brave (or greedy, or both) souls had tried to approach him, but he had always somehow vanished by the time they reached the place where he was standing.
It had been nearly two weeks since he had first been sighted, but there had been nothing else. No grandiose plots. No statements of revenge. No voodoo magic, although a sign had gone up on the door of his residence saying "Back in service soon!"
Perhaps he really wanted to simply go back to his old life, making his way by telling people's fortunes and scrying the future and whatnot.
Or perhaps he was simply biding his time.
And that was what Tiana was going to find out.
She had dressed in disguise, which was not very hard to do considering many people only recognized her if she wore green. Why did everyone assume she wore green all the time? You get turned into a frog one time, and everyone expected you to always look like one.
She hadn't told Naveen she was going to talk to the Shadow Man. Oh, she would, but later, when she got back and saw how things stood. Naveen...while he had many qualities, tact was not always one of them, especially when face-to-face with the man who had turned him into a frog. Also, he would insist on guards accompanying her, and she didn't want to antagonize Facilier. She would prefer to leave this meeting in the same form she came to it in. She wanted to put on a show of trust.
She was, however, wearing every single protective amulet Mama Odie had ever given her. She'd also given Tiana an extra one yesterday, showing up moments after Tiana had decided to visit the Shadow Man and see what was what. Tiana didn't know how Mama Odie had known of her decision, but she'd walked in, told Tiana she would be fine, and given her another amulet she'd said was "Extra strong, just in case you're nervous. He'll be hard put to do anything against this. After all, can a branch harm its root?"
"What do you mean?" Tiana had asked.
Mama Odie had simply winked.
So now here Tiana was, knocking on the door of the Shadow Man of her own free will.
Never in a million years had she thought she'd ever do such a thing.
The door opened, creaking slightly. Dr. Facilier stood there.
He looked older, but that made sense. He looked tired, somehow. Careworn. But the shadows darkened around his feet and in the alleyway behind Tiana, and he bowed and said "Your Highness. To what do I owe the honor?" without showing any sign of surprise and with just a trace of sarcasm.
"I want to speak to you," Tiana said, grateful her voice was steady.
"You are," he pointed out.
"Someplace anyone passing by won't be eavesdropping."
He opened the door wider. "By all means."
And so Princess Tiana of New Orleans and Maldonia entered the lair of the Shadow Man, uncompelled, unforced , unenchanted...
Yeah, she'd never thought she'd do such a thing. But here she was.
The inside of the Shadow Man's home looked almost the same as it had twenty years ago-voodoo dolls peeking out of corners, various occult items dangling from the ceiling, the occasional demon face drawn on the wall.
There was one more recent one, though, drawn in what looked like red paint with its tongue sticking out. Tiana had thought nobody had come in here in the past twenty years-nobody had wanted to risk triggering a defense spell-but maybe she'd been wrong. Dr. Facilier wasn't the kind of man to draw a picture like that himself. It looked almost childish.
The place had the look of an old abandoned house that had recently, although not completely, been cleared up. Which it was. The floor was clean, although there were a few stray spiderwebs in the corners of the ceiling. There were several constructions boards in the corner.
There were also a few things that seemed out of place, not fitting in with Dr. Facilier or for repairing a house. The potted herbs in the corner, for instance. Not all of them were poisonous. And the wooden table she and Facilier sat down by was covered in a tablecloth made out of red, green, purple, and blue fabric, looking as though someone had sewn it together out of random scraps of fabric with neat stitches.
"I'd do the polite thing and offer you tea," Facilier said, "but we seem to be out of it."
"It's fine, I'm not thirsty," Tiana said, slightly amazed that the two of them were having an almost ordinary conversation.
Until they weren't.
"So," the Shadow Man said, "why are you here?"
Better say it straight out. "Why are you here?"
He arched an eyebrow. "I live here."
She huffed. "No, I mean-why are you here? In New Orleans."
"I live here," he repeated. "Unless there is some law banning me, I have just as much right to be here as you do. This is my home."
"So you've come back because...you missed New Orleans?"
"Perhaps. Why, why did you think I came back?"
She hesitated a beat too long; she'd never been good at lying.
He sighed. "Believe it or not, my ultimate goal is not the death and destruction of general humanity...I saw some of the propaganda posters when I came off the Isle. I grew up in New Orleans. It's my home. I just want to live here in peace, like I did before....Unless I'm provoked."
He sounded like he meant it. He looked like he meant it.
Of course, he could be faking.
Tiana was usually good at reading people, but Facilier was very good at fooling people. "Like I did before" could also be interpreted as "Like I did before when I turned your husband into a frog and tried to steal your best friend's inheritance."
She gathered her courage. "Even if I believe that you do want to live here in peace, how do I know you won't seek revenge against me and Naveen?"
"Those are essentially contradictions," he noted.
"What?" Tiana said.
"Those two statements contradict each other. I was the headmaster of Dragon Hall-the school on the Isle-for years. I've learned to notice these things-in late-note excuses, in term papers..."
"Answer the question, please," Tiana said, wondering if this was an act, or if she should be leaving now, and of course hoping he wouldn't be insulted and turned into a frog.
"Your question? Ah, yes. I could ask you the same, you know. How do I know you won't seek revenge on me? We both have valid points, apparently."
How dare he accuse her of being the same as him? She wasn't the one who had tricked and swindled her way to power!
"I did not trick my way," he clarified. "I used my magic. Magic is not cheating...well, it depends what you use it for."
Tiana stared at him. "Did-did you just-"
"Oh, I didn't read your mind," he said. "I'm just very good at reading faces. Comes in handy in my line of work."
Tiana took a deep breath. He was trying to distract her. Focus. "My question stands. I want proof that you will not try to harm me, or Naveen, or Charlotte, or-anyone, really."
"And I want proof from you," he countered, "that me and mine will be left in peace."
They stared at each other silently. Tiana could almost feel the shadows moving around her; whether it was a sign of anger or amusement she did not know. She hoped it was the latter.
Really, he could turn her into a mosquito or something, and no one would ever know.
Facilier sighed suddenly. "Look. Each of us wants to be left alone by the other, yes?"
"Yes," she said guardedly.
He hesitated. Was he...nervous? "What if I prove to you that I will not act against you? That I don't want to act against you, not anymore?"
"Then...then if you could give me concrete proof...then I would believe you. What exactly do you mean?" What was he going to tell her?
He rose suddenly, towering over her, and she quickly jumped up, trying not to feel like she'd missed a cue. "I want your word," he said quietly, "that whatever I show you, whatever you see, you will not harm. Your quarrel is with me and me alone."
Tiana looked at him suspiciously. "I can't just make a promise like that without knowing what it is! I'm not going to promise not to harm a-a demon or something!"
"I am not going to show you a demon or anything dangerous," he vowed. "How about this..." He regarded her curiously, almost like he was calculating something, or trying to figure out the answer to a riddle. "If what you see you deem not dangerous, you will leave...it...alone. If you decide it's dangerous, you can attack it."
The look in his eyes made her pretty sure he would stop her from doing anything even if it was dangerous.
"But if it's not dangerous and you attack it anyway..." he continued, "nothing under the sun or moon will stop me from hunting you down."
Tiana suppressed a shiver. And he said he just wanted to be left in peace? "Your definition of dangerous is rather different from mine," she pointed out.
"True." He looked almost amused. "Do I have your word?"
This had been a really stupid decision, hadn't it? She should have come here with the guards Naveen would have wanted to send with her...
"Yes," she finally said.
"Excellent." He swept out of the room.
After a few moments he poked his head back in from the dark hallway. "Well? Don't you want to see my proof?"
"I thought you were going to bring it here," Tiana managed. He expected her to follow him into the depths of his house? What exactly was his estimation of her brainpower?
"Relax," he said, reading her expression again. He definitely looked amused now. "If I wanted to turn you into a frog, I could have done it a dozen times by now."
"That doesn't exactly comfort me," Tiana muttered, stepping around the table to enter the hallway.
Ahead of her, he laughed, a dim figure in the gloom of the house.
He brought her to the last door before the stairs. She hadn't known there were stairs. She decided she didn't want to know what they led to.
The door was made of unpolished oak wood. Funny, the little details the mind notices.
Facilier paused. "Do you remember what you told me, just before you broke my amulet?"
"Ye-es..." Why was he bringing that up now? Was this a trap? Was he seeking vengeance after all?
"You said that your father had love," he continued. "And that he knew what was really important. I don't often say this...."
He opened the door.
"But you were right."
It was a bedroom, with two beds in it. Well, mattresses, really. They were on the floor, not supported by anything.
There was a night-table, a chest of drawers, a cracked mirror hanging on the wall.
Actually, the room seemed to be the best put-together room in the house from what she'd seen so far. No spiderwebs in the corner or anything. The left wall was covered in wallpaper with a skull pattern; the rest of the room hadn't been papered yet.
Also, on each mattress was lying a girl.
The younger one, closest to Tiana, was about twelve or thirteen. The older one, at the far side of the room, was sixteen or seventeen. Both of them were sleeping.
Their resemblance to each other, and to the man standing next to her, was unmistakable.
She looked at them, at him, back at them. "You..." was all she could say. "What....Who..."
"Mes filles," he said. "Frederique and Cecelia." The pride in his voice was unmistakable.
The younger one tossed and turned in some uneasy dream, a frightened look on her face. The older one mumbled something in her sleep.
Facilier angled his shadow so that it touched his younger daughter; she quieted, relaxing.
The look on his face was the same as the look Tiana's father had had when he looked at her.
She would never have thought...
Facilier closed the door gently. He began walking back down the hallway. Tiana hurried to catch up.
Once they were back in the first room he turned to face her. "You see now why I will not harm you? Why I wish to be left in peace?  I want to raise my daughters. I do not want to be busy fending off attackers, for them to be in danger. The Isle was more than enough."
"I-I see," she managed. Facilier, a loving father? Still, stranger things had happened. Like being turned into a frog.
Wasn't the whole reason some of the villains had been let off the Isle of the Lost was because some of their children had vouched for them?
And hadn't the children been released from the Isle in the first place because they themselves had done nothing wrong?
Tiana realized Facilier was watching her, waiting for an answer.
"Look," she said. "We may hate each other, and want revenge, but I-I do not want to harm a twelve-year-old girl who has done nothing to me. Or a sixteen-year-old girl, for that matter."
He relaxed slightly. "Thank you."
"However," she warned, "that applies to them. Not you. You make a single move against us, and you'll be back on the Isle before you know it."
To her relief he didn't say And how would you stop me? or threaten to turn her into a frog again or anything. Instead, he said "So it's basically "You leave us alone, we'll leave you alone?"
"Pretty much."
He shrugged. "Fair enough. Can I have that in writing?"
"You don't trust my word?"
His eyes twinkled. "Would you trust mine?"
So they quickly wrote up statements-one of the few benefits of having to sit through boring meetings for twenty years was picking up all sorts of random legalese-stating that neither one, or their families and allies, would harm the other, with any infraction judged by a fair trial, or a council meeting, or at least a five-minute conversation to clear up any possible misunderstandings.
Tiana clutched her copy tightly as she went to the door. He opened it for her and nodded.
She stepped out, than suddenly turned and said. "I have children too."
He nodded slowly.
"So I know-I know what it's like. To want to do anything for them, be willing to take on the world for them..."
"Yes," he agreed. "To do anything for them."
They looked at each other, a mutual understanding, on this matter at least, between them.
Then she nodded to him and slipped away on her way home.

Wanted to try giving my take on characters, so decided to start with one of my faves!
Tokoyami and Dark Shadow Headcannons
Will forewarn, these will be full of fluff hcs, no angst (nothing against it, I’m just not good at coming up with it :p) Also, this might be word vomit lengthy, so another sorry in advance!
First, Tokoyami!
Goth styles he favors in particular: casual, Victorian, medieval, vampire and steampunk
He is not fluent, but know a good amount of English. He figured learning a second language could be beneficial as a hero.
He attributes his desire to become a hero to The Hidden Arts Hero, Dark Crystal. During a low point in his life, he happened upon a video involving Dark Crystal and was shook. This was the first time he had seen a person with darkness powers that wasn’t a villain! After seeing more and more videos and an interview with him, Tokoyami decided that he would strive to be a hero as well. He would strive to be an inspiration to those who could either have more of an animal appearance than a lot of society or for people who were ‘blessed by the void’ (have dark powered quirks).
Before moving into the dorms, he lived with his father, who is a pilot. His father does love him and shows it, but he is away a lot of the time, so Tokoyami had to learn to be self-sufficient.
The skulls in his dorm were passed down by a relative that was a Wiccan. He learned all about them and tried to incorporate some of their beliefs.
Has a small hand-made shrine to honor the actual god Tsukoyomi in his dorm. After taking up the name, he made it and vowed to bring honor to the moon god. If he performed well today, he gives thanks for receiving his blessing. If not, he asks for forgiveness and hopes to improve. Only a few people know about this. (Shoji, Koda, Midoriya, Asui)
At a young age, being compared constantly to a tengu, rather than hate it, he learned about them, which also got him to be fascinated with mythical creatures. Now, Tokoyami is the ‘Deku’ of mythical creatures, even having his own notebook filled with facts and speculations about them. Only Midoriya knows this.
Of all the teachers, Tokoyami relates and has the best relationship with Ectoplasm. He’s not crazy about the subject Ectoplasm teaches, but they share a lot of beliefs in common. Not to mention the fact that despite his intimidating appearance, Tokoyami can see how much Ectoplasm cares about the students and his fellow teachers.
As villains, Iida and Tokoyami are formidable since they have both speed and power on their side. However, both of them tend to get so wrapped in the roles, they both come across as overdramatic. Nobody has the heart to tell them that because they always look forward to seeing the two of them unintentionally act so extra.
At least once a month, Tokoyami, Koda, Asui and Ibara from 1-B go on a nature walk. Others join from time to time, but it is primarily the four of them.
Tokoyami and Yaoyorozu are book buddies. With a majority of the class not really into books and literature, they were happy that they found someone they could sit and simply appreciate a good story with.
Tokoyami once came across Uraraka stargazing coming back from training with Hawks. What they both thought might be a one time experience slowly ended up being a personal thing between the two of them when there’s a full starry night or a full moon.
Despite his strict attitude towards him, he loves Dark Shadow like a brother.
Now, Dark Shadow HCs!
Any family moniker or title Tokoyami uses on a person( Father, Grandma, etc.), Dark Shadow calls them that too. No one seems to object to it.
Father passed the bird aspects on, as well as his quirk, which is turning the feathers on his arms into a shield. Thus, Dark Shadow acts manly as a shield for Tokoyami a lot of the time. While one of the few things he knows about Tokyo’s mother is she had a sentient shadow quirk. ( Think Dr. Facilier from Princess and the Frog)
Because of his obvious avian appearance, it was easy for people to forget he was a sentient quirk/spirit/being of darkness and not an animal. Thus, when students offer him bugs, bird seed or shiny objects, he’s completely confused. When Koda explains why they are doing it, he asks them to stop.
He only has one similar trait to birds. Ravens specifically. Given enough time, he can mimic anyone perfectly. Boy or girl, young adult or old adult, he can copy them perfectly. When he’s bored, he does this to confuse students and it amuses him to no end.
He also DOES like head pats.
Does. NOT. Like. Bakugou. AT ALL. Not only did he make Tokoyami and him look like chumps in the Sports Festival, he constantly screams and berates Tokoyami and the other classmates. Tokoyami tries to remain civil towards Bakugou when he can, but DS won’t give him the time of day unless it’s to berate him or to stand up for someone. Thinks he’s too arrogant and mean to be a hero.
Developed a crush soft spot for Uraraka after Sports Festival. Not only does she (in his opinion) give the best head pats out of everyone, she was the first to treat him like an equal individual. (Aside from Tokoyami)
While he loves ratting Tokoyami out when he’s not being forthright with his emotions, he’s steadfast loyal when it comes to super personal stuff.
Despite being a little shit to him sometimes, he loves Tokoyami like a brother.
That’s all I can think of now. Feel free to let me know if this is just fine or if it’s too lengthy and how to improve! I do wish to do more of these in the future! Thank you for taking the time to read my own thoughts!

Been playing around with the idea of how a future Shizuka would look like. And even considering making my own fan comic as I have ideas for at least the first 3 chapters but we’ll see what happens
These are just practice drawings/sketches so I wasn’t worried about things looking perfect
This is essentially an au where Jolyne and gang defeat Pucci and the universe didn’t reset.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
By the events of Stone Ocean taking place in 2011, Shizuka Joestar is about the age of 13. To for the pattern of the rest of the Jojo’s being in their late teens I think it’d be fitting to skip to the year would be about 2015 if my math is to be trusted.
Also I thought it’d be cool if she’s in the punk/gothic style. All Jojo’s from Joseph on have been known to be a rebel or punk of sorts so I thought it’d be fitting. Her style is based more on the gothic fashion style of “Rockabilly”
One of her Jobro (or I guess Josis?) that I have in mind is her classmate, Jazzie Jay who dresses in the Pastel/Preppy Goth fashion. Jojo also has the theme of characters and/or stands being named after musicians and bands. Jazzie being a play on the artist, Jay-Z and her stand name being based on the song, “Suga Suga” by Baby Bash. Suga Fly’s design being loosely based on trippy cat artworks by artist Louis Wain.
The other sketch is Shizuka challenging an enemy stand user to a tango dance? At the moment I’m calling this character Swan Saint Seans (After classical composer Saint Seans and his piece “The Swan”/“Swan Lake” by Tchaikovsky). The idea I was going for here is that as far as my knowledge goes, there’s no characters or stands named after any classical pieces or musicians. I love all music including classical, so I thought it’d be interesting to have a ballerina stand user. I don’t have a sketch yet, but the rough idea for her stand is to look something like a Nutcracker.
Now as for what these stands do, I have absolutely no idea. As much as I love the anime (I read manga too but I’ve never seen Jojo’s manga) I am so terrible with stats. Even outside of jojo like Pokémon or team shooter games. The second someone starts taking about stats my brain can’t comprehend it 😅. And that’s where I’m so lost. If I were to go through with making a fan comic, the powers would be awful, and I’d have barely a clue how things could go.
It sucks too bc I had a cool idea for how the villain would look and the design of her stand. Her name would be Baron Samedi with a design being based on the mythical character as well (Dr. Facilier from Disney’s The Princess and the Frog was based on this mythical character too to give a rough idea). The stand would have been a royal blue and gold decorated puppet like (think Venetian festival). Stand name wasn’t decided on except for the stand in name of “Voodoo” based on the song “Picturebox Voodoo” by Full Devil Jacket.
Whatever I end up doing, I hope y’all can enjoy this little bit of wishful thinking and inspiration I had. It was super fun to come up with these ideas.

Why It Worked: The Princess and The Frog
Tumblr media
Introduction: The Princess and The Frog is an animated musical fantasy romantic comedy film. Directed by John Musker and Ron Clements, the film stars Anika Noni Rose, Bruno Campos, Keith David, Michael-Leon Wooley, Jim Cummings, Jennifer Lewis, Jennifer Cody, John Goodman, Oprah Winfrey and Terrence Howard. The film was released on December 11, 2009 and recieved very positive reviews from critics and audiences (85% of 200 reviews agregated by Rotten Tomatoes gave an average rating of 7.4/10). The film grossed $269 million on a budget of $105 million. For the past decade, I've grown to love this movie more and more with each passing year. Having rewatched it recently, I now firmly believe this is one of Disney's best films. In this post, I'd like to go into detail as to why.
Tumblr media
The Plot: Based on the classic Brothers Grimm fairy tale, The Frog Prince, mixed with the material in The Frog Princess by E.D. Maker, this film tells the story of Tiana, a waitress trying to earn enough money to start her own restaurtant. She encounters a talking frog, who's actually Prince Naveen turned into a frog by Dr. Facilier. He agrees to help Tiana get her her restaurant if she helps him turn back into a prince by recreating the classic tale of The Frog Prince. This backfires and now they're both frogs hopping around the buyou with their gator friend, Louis and a cajun firefly named Ray, to find a way to reverse the spell they were put under. The film is really a subversion of classic fairy tale tropes that makes the film feel fresh and new. The goal for our leading lady is not to fall in love with a prince but to make her childhood dream come true. What also makes this film standout is how magical they make New Orleans, paying tributes to jazz music and cajun cuisine. I also found the humor to be very funny, with many of the jokes getting a great laugh out of me. One of the funniest scenes in the film is when Tiana and Naveen outwit a trio of frog hunters. The slapstick and perfect timing had me in stitches. What really makes the story so engaging is the animation. It's too bad Disney hasn't used 2D animation in their recent films (not to say they don't look amazing in 3D) because the animation in the Princess and The Frog is amazing. The character movements feel so smooth and fluid and they're designs are unique and well defined. It should also be noted that some 3D was used for background elements yet are coated with a 2D paint so well you never would've noticed.
Tumblr media
Cast and Characters: The cast of this movie did outstanding jobs voicing these characters, who are all well developed and very likable. Starting with our leading lady, Tiana is a smart hardworking woman that's determined to start up her restaurant. She's also sassy, funny and a great cook. Anika Noni Rose was perfect as Tiana as gives the character a very determined and no-nonsense tone in her voice. Prince Naveen starts off as an arrogant playboy that only wants to live a carefree life. However, the more time he spends with Tiana, the more he realizes that not everything is just going to be handed to him. This is especially true during the scene when he and Tiana are making gumbo and he comes to realize he's so used to having everything be done for him that he doesn't even know how to take care of himself. Bruno Campos gave a very stellar performance as Naveen, giving him such charm and funny lines while also selling the more personal aspects of his character. Louis the gator is such a fun comic relief that plays a mean trumpet. He easily brings out some of the best laughs and Michael-Leon Wooley gave a very memorable performance as the character. Ray the cajun firefly just might be one of Jim Cummings' best vocal performances, up there with Darkwing Duck, Pete, and (of course) Winnie The Pooh and Tigger. Ray might appear to have a screw or too loose, but he's actually a really smart, brave and reliable ally who's more than willing to help his friends. His love for Evangeline (which is actually the North Star) feels very genuine even if it might come across as odd at first. Then there's the film's made baddie, Dr. Facilier (often referred to as The Shadow Man). Dr. Facilier is every bit as charming as he is sinister. He's manipulative, he's smart, he's charsmatic and he loves what he does. Keith David was excellent in the role, giving him a deep yet unsettling tone in his voice.
Tumblr media
Super Supporting Players: This film has one of the strongest supporting cast I have ever seen. Each of the supporting and even minor characters leave a lasting impression and make the film feel lived in. Lawrence, Naveen's butler, acts as the secondary antagonist of the film, being the catalyst of Naveen's desire for a carefree lifestyle. He sides with the Shadow Man and poses as Naveen while the prince is a frog in order to marry Charlotte La Bouff. Speaking of Charlotte, is very much nothing like the standard spoiled brat. Rather than be snobbish, selfish and rude, Lottie is a true friend to Tiana and is willing to help her get her restaurant. Believe me folks, after having to deal with the likes of Gem Stone, Princess Morbucks, Sincerity (What About Mimi), and Tricia Holmes (6teen), Charlotte is a breath of fresh air. Her father, Eli (aka Big Daddy) is also a very kind and caring figure who, despite spoiling his daughter, clearly raised her well as she gets her generosity from him. Mama Odie is a wise 197 year old blind lady that not only helps our heroes on their journey, but helps them understand the difference between what they want vs what they need. This is echoed by Eudora (Tiana's Mom) earlier in the film, who even in the limited amount of screen time she had exerts such a motherly personality and has authentic chemistry with her daughter. Then there's James (Tiana's Dad), the main driving force behind Tiana's desire to open her restaurant. Despite succumbing to the frequently used "dead parent" trope, every second he's on screen is imperative to the story. He's a kind hard working man who dreamed of opening his own restaurtant with his daughter Tiana. When she tells her Dad about the wishing star, he gives her great advice: "that little star can only take you part of the way. You got to help it along with some hard work of your own and then you can do anything you set your mind to." What truly makes this supporting cast come alive are the stupendous voice work from the actors who portrayed them. Jennifer Cody was fantastic as Lottie, making her sound so energetic and lively. John Goodman is always a treat to hear and he brings such a humble fatherly presence to Eli. Jennifer Lewis perfectly captures the sass and erratic nature of Mama Odie and is an amazing singer. Peter Bartlett right captured the bumbling mannerisms of Lawrence and when he's disguised as Naveen he exerts more confidence in his voice. Oprah Winfrey, who was also a consultant for the film, played Eudora beautifully as a kind and caring mother and they couldn't have picked a better actor than Terence Howard for the role of James.
Tumblr media
Songs and Music: Randy Newman is a musical genius! Every single song in this film is written wonderfully with an awesome beat, wonderful lyrics and the amazing vocal talents of the stars. Starting with the opening track after the lovely melody prologue, Down in New Orleans perfectly introduces the audience to this city and what it's like to live here. The late Dr. John brought such authenticity to the song being a New Orleans native and he had great singing chops. Almost There, Tiana's number, is not so much an I want song, but more like "I'm so close I can almost taste it." Anika Noni Rose has great singing talents and carried that long final note like a champ. The villain song, Friends From The Other Side is (in my opinion) one of the best Disney villain songs. It perfectly captures the charismatic and manipulative nature if Dr. Facilier and Keith David's baritone singing makes this all the more memorable. When We're Human is an upbeat song that showcases the excellent singing talents of Anika Noni Rose, Bruno Campos and Michael-Leon Wooley as they sing about what they'll do when they're human. It also makes great use of the trumpet, the go-to instrument for jazz. Ray is given the distinct honor of singing 2 songs, which are polar opposites yet are both wonderfully well crafted musical numbers. The first is Gonna Take You There, which is a classic cajun song in with Ray sings while he and his firefly family take our heroes to Mama Odie's. It's bounce, it's fun, it's makes great use of the accordion, it's just a great song to listen to. The second is Ma Belle Evangeline, a slow yet beautiful love ballad Ray sings for Evangeline. Even though Ray is singing to a star, it feels very genuine with his mix of French compliments and Louis' slow trumpet playing. Than there's the last musical number before the reprise of the opening track, Dig A Little Deeper. This is my personal favorite song in the film, and that's saying something because they're all great. Dig A Little Deeper incorporates a choir of roseate spoonbills to make it look like a church service on Sunday. It also has a great message behind it about finding what you need versus trying to get what you want. Also, Anika Noni Rose coming in with that extra verse was the perfect cherry on top. In addition to these spectacular musical numbers, Randy Newman also made a very memorable score incorporating strings and strong brass for intense scenes and some soft, subtle tunes for the quiet moments. Where the score truly shines is during Ray's death and funeral. From the sad reprise of Ma Belle Evangeline all the way up to the music slowy but surely picking up as Ray essentially becomes the brightness star in the sky next to Evangeline, this scene best showcases what a great score this film has. The song that plays during the credits, Never Knew I Needed by Ne-Yo, was also the picture bookend to the film, capturing the film's central message in a wonderfully crafted pop ballad with a beautiful piano tune.
Tumblr media
Where It Falters: 👆. No, seriously this film is still a 10/10 in my book, but I personally would've amended this response from Lottie to "Travis, when I said later, I really meant not ever." Still shoots the guy down but without making her speak for all women. This concludes my meaningless nitpick.
Tumblr media
Conclusion: The Princess and The Frog is without a doubt one of Disney's best films and Tiana is my personal favorite Disney Princess. The animation is spectacular, the characters are great, the songs are all wonderful, the voice acting is superb and it delivers a great message of finding what you need versus trying to get what you want. If you haven't seen this film, I highly recommend giving this film a watch on Disney+ if you have it. Thank you so much for reading and I'll see you soon ;)

This addition of Why It Worked is dedicated in memory of my grandmother, Margaret "Peggy" Simpson. I'll see you in Heaven Grandma.

Hello again! I meant to send this days ago, but what do you headcanon the brothers and undateables favorite Disney movies to be? Just thought it might be cute!
Oh this is adorable!! Sorry for my inactivity here, I’ve been too tired lately to write on top of drawing ;u; but the second I saw this one I decided on Diavolo’s and had to write the rest. I haven’t watched any of these movies in a long time, and some of them I’ve never fully seen, so please excuse any inaccuracies ^^
Also now I can’t stop thinking about an Alice in Wonderland AU ;u;
Lucifer
Anastasia
- Its... pretty much solely because of the music, and because Lord Diavolo likes it so much. He finds the music enchanting enough that the rest of the movie becomes more tolerable than most.
- Also I know it isn’t Disney but I could see him finding Who Framed Roger Rabbit entertaining.
Mammon
Robin Hood
- I don’t actually know how to defend this choice. It’s more of a vibes thing.
- Potentially falsely relates to Robin Hood and the things he does. His values don’t quite align with what others believe in and Mammon relates to that in his own way. He feels like he’s cheering on the underdog, and when others do too it helps him feel supported.
- Soft bb, likes the romance aspect and that Robin Hood ends up with the girl he loves. “Where’s /my/ Maid Marian?”
Leviathan
Atlantis: The Lost Empire
- Loves the aesthetic of it all. When the monstrous leviathan is on screen he gets a bit offended but it makes him feel proud too that humans have noticed him enough to make cool monsters based off of him.
- He also admires Milo - he’s not the typical prince-like character, but he’s admired nonetheless and treated as the hero.
Satan
Beauty and the Beast or Princess and the Frog
- For the former, he likes Belle and her dedication to reading. Also really loves the Beast’s library - if he ever gets a castle of his own that’s the first thing he’d put in it. Might relate a small amount to the beast when he gets angry.
- For the latter, he’s obsessed with the darker themes and Dr Facilier. Thinks some of his “parlour tricks” would actually be entertaining to try on humans and see how they react. Was ready to throw hands at the sad part towards the end that I won’t spoil.
- For both, he’s a little soft for the stories - he likes the simplicity of it all, and the happy endings help him relax and tune out the world for a little bit.
Asmodeus
Cinderella
- Like in the event, he sees himself as being a fairy godmother as sorts. Really adores the dress transformation, and finds himself inspired by it - he already enjoys dressing people up and finding outfits that they look good in and enjoy wearing, and feels like he’s making Cinderella’s out of people.
Beelzebub
Sleeping Beauty or Alice in Wonderland
- He isn’t a big movie person - he prefers the snacks and such that go alongside watching movies. However, he likes Sleeping Beauty because Belphie likes it.
- Thinks Alice in Wonderland is very pretty and likes the feeling of escaping into a different world. He’s a homebody, someone entirely dedicated to his family, but he likes that Alice wants to go off and explore and have her own adventures - he gets to experience, through her, something that he’s unlikely to experience on his own nowadays.
Belphegor
Sleeping Beauty
- I feel like this one is self-explanatory. Girl gets to sleep for a long time, he really wishes that were him. Also soft for the idea of being kissed by his true love to wake him up.
- Chaotic boy also cheers Scar on in Lion King solely to annoy the other brothers. Gets a kick out of the more emotional brother’s reactions (primarily Mammon, being real)
Diavolo
Anastasia
- He doesn’t have much time for movies, but when he does, it becomes one he’s obsessed with after being introduced to it. The simplistic nature, the guaranteed happy ending. Also likes that Anastasia is a royal, and that she got to go off and have her adventures and discover herself.
- Lucifer will tolerate watching it with him because they both like the music so that’s always a bonus - he doesn’t have to sit and watch it alone, like he does with most of his work.
EDIT: I can’t stop thinking about Diavolo having a little music box that plays Once Upon a December and he has it on constantly and December becomes his favourite month ;u;
Barbatos
The Hunchback of Notre Dame
- This is a vibes thing again. I think he’d like Esmerelda and Quasimodo. Finds the darker themes to be interesting, and likes how developed the characters are.
- Also finds it to be entertaining that he enjoys something that is quite inappropriate, considering the religious themes in the film and its commentary on perceived sin, him being a demon and all.
Solomon
The Princess and the Frog
- Like Satan, he likes Dr Facilier. He’s not very invested in movies, but the twist on the original story and the ‘magic’ keep him interested enough to sit through this one when the occasion arises.
- If he’s in the mood for it, he’s going to try and mimic some of the spells whilst watching to scare the brothers.
Simeon
Simeon likes all of the classic Disney films - Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, The Little Mermaid, etc.
- The style is pretty, the music is enchanting, and there’s always a happy ending. He primarily writes about men himself, because his stories are about the brothers, and so he likes anything with a female lead as it truly feels like a break from his work.
- He also likes seeing what humans find entertaining, and likes the downtime he gets when he watches the movies with Luke or with the MC, or both.
- Soft spot for Mulan - she stands up and fights for her family and her people, whilst also defying them in the process? She reminds him of a certain someone. He’d never admit to this, though.
Luke
101 Dalmations
- He’ll never admit to it but he loves seeing all the dogs. He thinks it’s really cute. Needs Simeon around to watch it though because Cruella de Vil scares him sometimes ^^”
- Okay but imagine he has a nightmare and it’s Lucifer is Cruella de Vil’s coat threatening to take his hair or something to make a cloak out of. :C

Okay, here a some reasons why add some Disney Characters and locations in Amphibia: Calamity War…..
• Mickey Mouse
The reason I add Mickey and his friends is because not only that he lives Toontown that’s close to Hollywood, but it was all started with a mouse when I made a prologue where Anne, Sasha, and Marcy as younger kids when through the looking glass at the art museum where they ended up in the Sorcerer’s Workshop and I’m planning to adding the part where Mickey and Friends dressed up in sorcerer outfit for promotional of D23 Expo in 2011.
That’s how Mickey discovered the girls and escort them back to the museum and promised them to keep a secret. Eight years later when Mickey made an announcement for search party when they heard the rumors, but then there’s a flash and they witnessed that Anne and the Plantars lying unconscious until they woke up and see where they at now and that’s why both Anne and Mickey know each other.
• Stitch
Here’s another reason why I add Stitch to be part of my fan story is because it involves frog. When Stitch crash landed in Hawaii during the rain, he encountered with a frog and pointing out his laser guns at it which he didn’t understand until he got ran over by some trucks.
During the flight chase when Stitch fell out from Gantu’s ship and land fainted right next to frog that he encountered. The frog jumped on Stitch and looked up in the curiously while Stitch woke up. He grab the frog and jumped out of the way before being blasted by Gantu. He set the frog down and prepare to grab the truck while the frog hops away.
That’s when I’ll add the part of the chapter where Stitch first encountered with Anne and Sprig since he familiar with frogs and started to grown fond of Sprig thus making Anne laugh at him in a cute way.
• Phineas and Ferb
Another reason is why do you ask? For example, if Phineas and Ferb The Movie came out in 2020 on Disney Plus, why not I add the cast of Tri-State Area at “Walt Disney Studios” as they retelling their story where Candace and Vanessa was abducted by aliens meaning Phineas, Ferb, Isabella, Baljeet, Buford, and Doofenshmirtz have to go into space and rescue the girls from the aliens clutches.
I can also add the part of the chapter where Anne and Sprig have met the kids at the studio while went looking for Polly.
• Gravity Falls
For those who are big fan of Gravity Falls already knows that Bill Cipher made cameo appearances at beginning of “True Colors” where Marcy is reading the book of “Dr. P’s”.
If my theory is correct either Stanford Pines or the Plantars ancestors. Also I’m going to add the part where Dipper and Mabel meet Anne at her house to talk about the history of the multiverse like Amphibia for example.
• Timon and Pumbaa
There’s one thing that you should be aware of. One, Timon and Pumbaa are my favorite characters from The Lion King and two, the reason that I will add them in my fan story was because not just for bugs that they like to eat, but they are the best of friends who will do anything for any characters.
This part of the chapter where Timon and Pumbaa met Anne and Sprig in the park when she’s feeling down about her past. They taught her to put her past behind her and sings Hakuna Matata to her. And also for bugs, Sprig told them that there are plenty of bugs from Amphibia and they were amazed for all the buffet they can eat, except some giant bugs that are pets or dangerous beasts.
• Princess and the Frog
Now that you’re aware when both Tiana and Naveen have been turned into frogs thanks to Dr. Facilier’s spell and they have to learn to work together and soon they fall in love once they kissed, the spell is broken.
For future chapter when Tiana had met Anne and the Plantars when they are at the park and sings “Dig A Little Deeper” to Anne about her memories from the past. Speaking of the shadow man, he was voice played by Keith David who voiced many characters including King Andrias.
• Disney Villains
The reason why I add most villains is because not just that is like from “Kingdom Hearts” or “Kingdom Keepers”, but is kinda like from a night show called “Villains Unite the Night” at the Magic Kingdom during Disney Villains After Hours. The villains I will add as main antagonists are Maleficent, The Queen, Ursula, Dr. Facilier, Jafar, Hades, and Chernabog.
Also the reasons why I add Maleficent as the main antagonist in my fan story since she was voiced by Susanne Blakesee who voiced many characters including Valeriana from Amphibia and also that part how Maleficent became obsessed with the Calamity Box that can travel to another world or another.
• Disneyland
And now that you already know when the original Disneyland was first opened in California. That gives me an idea when Anne and her parents took the Plantars with to visit Disneyland not just for fun, but keeping her happy from being sad since she recalls what happened back in Amphibia. If only I wish it was real for the future episodes for next year.
Now that’s why I became obsessed with crossover back when I was a kid and I hope you understand what I am saying. Please let me know if you ask me questions and there will be NO hate comments or offensive image. I’ll let you know when I’m ready to published my fan story at FanFiction website. See yah soon.

Putting under a read more because answering a lot of questions, you know the drill
Tumblr media
what the hell is anime
Tumblr media
what the hell is Lego
Tumblr media
No because I don’t watch any Lego shows so if anyone requested it I would have no idea what they’re talking about and no ideas beyond hurr durr lego brick dick.
Tumblr media
ehhhhh, I like the art but before I heard about the game I heard about some bad shit about the developers so that kind of took away any interest I might of had in the game. Like, no shade to those who enjoy it but knowing what I do now before getting into the fandom makes me not want to support it or the developers, ya feel me?
Also, from what I can see, The Arcana does that thing that most mobile dating games do that I hate; which is have special endings and scenes that you need to use in-game currency to unlock. And, yeah, if you play long enough you can earn enough of that in-game currency without spending any real money but it takes literal months to do that and ugh I would rather just buy a game on steam instead of deal with a free to play game that makes microtransactions a necessity to experience the content, ya know?
Like, I know I never shut the fuck up about Obey Me but at least that game is fully playable without spending a single cent.
Tumblr media
Okay, so, I ended up checking out the game and buying it out of curiosity and initially I was kind of put off by the art (It’s better than anything I could do but sometimes it gives off those How To Draw Manga vibes if you know what I mean) but I was drawn in by the mystery and the voice acting is way better than what I was expecting.
Long story short, first playthrough I ended up fucking the serial killer :/
Tumblr media
Honestly? I don’t know anything about the dudes from that game and I don’t want to know. Don’t get me wrong, I like a fucked up dating sim. If I don’t end up locked in a dog cage and held captive by a yandere during one of the routes then what’s even the fucking point? But from what I’ve seen from this game it’s just way more brutal and graphic than anything I want to deal with and also I’ve decided that all the romance options have tiny peepees and they suck.
Tumblr media
Oh yeah I will definitely write for the Hades game because I am in love with these characters.
Tumblr media
It’s honestly not fair how hot Keith David’s voice is. He got me simpin for Dr. Facilier when The Princess and The Frog was released. :/
Tumblr media
👀👀👀 proof???? I heard we were getting a Bumblebee sequel but haven’t heard anything about it relating to Beast Wars.
Tumblr media
Ehhhhh probably not. I’m sure it’s fun and the story is good but it just isn’t something that personally interests me so I don’t really feel like investing the time to give it a try when there are other things I’m more interested in.
Tumblr media
I’ve heard of the game and it does look really cool and if I ever do play it I might be willing to write for it but as of right now I am not really familiar with it and would not be able to fill any requests for it at this time.
