Tsumugi: Ah, Masumi-kun. Are you heading to the rehearsal hall right now?

Masumi: Yeah. The same as you since we have an instelive.

Tsumugi: I can’t wait for the stream.

Masumi: What a pain…

Tsumugi: Now, now. Don’t say that. Let’s announce the next issue of “VELUDO” to our fans.

Masumi: …I guess I have to.

Tsumugi: Ah, that’s right. I’ve been wondering this for a while…

Masumi: What?

Tsumugi: What did you think about the Horror House as a date spot with Director?

Masumi: Well, I think it works. But when were trying out the Horror House, she went along with all three groups, so I decided I’m not going to invite her.

Tsumugi: Right, I suppose after going around three times, she’d know where and what all the tricks are…

Masumi: Exactly. That’s why I’m searching for a new spot now. Let me know if you know of any good places.

Tsumugi: No problem. I’ll tell you if I come across any information.

-pause-

Tsumugi: I wonder if everyone else is already here… Oh, there’s a bunch of drinks?

Izumi: Ah. Masumi-kun and Tsumugi-san.

Tsumugi: What is this about?

Izumi: We’re promoting a special drink campaign that’s going on at a café near the Horror House in our stream today… I just went to pick them up with Kazunari-kun.

Kazunari: You can get a drink from their limited Halloween menu for half price when you show them your ticket to the Horror House!

Tsumugi: I see. I’m sure the visitors will love that.

Masumi: That’s not fair. I wanted to go to a café with Director too.

Izumi: You were out during the day though, weren’t you?

Masumi: I would’ve went if you called me.

Izumi: That wasn’t something to call you over!

*door opens*

Tsuzuru: Hey, guys.

Kumon: I can’t wait to do a stream with nii-chan!

Juza: I’m lookin’ forward to it too.

Izumi: Ah, it looks like the whole gang is here. Everyone will be having these drinks in today’s stream. Are you all ready?

Kazunari: Yessiree!

Kumon: The main topic of today’s stream is… TAH DAAAH! It’s about “VELUDO”!

Juza: We’re gettin’ more comments. “I can’t wait”, “yaaay”… “Is it a special feature”?

Kazunari: The next issue… will be special feature on a Horror House! All 6 of us here were part of the photoshoot!

Masumi: Kazunari and I are on the cover. I think we fit the vibe well enough.

Kazunari: Our costumes popped off. Check us out when it’s announced, ‘kay~!

Kumon: Me, Masumi-san, and Tsumugi-san were wearing the same clothes as the staff members at the Horror House. It'd be awesome if you could check that out too!

Tsuzuru: Lots of comments are saying they’ll take a look for sure. Great to hear.

Tsumugi: Moreover, in order to take the pictures that are going to be published in the special spread… We were asked help out as staff members on the Horror House’s opening day.

Kumon: I wonder if anyone who happened to be guided by us are watching right now?

Masumi: …Ah. There was someone.

Juza: Where?

Masumi: The comments are flowing too fast, I lost sight of it.

Juza: I see… Thanks to that person who came on the first day.

Kazunari: Hm? It looks like everyone’s curious about the drinks we’re having~? Glad you asked. These are original Halloween drinks from a café next to the Horror House!

Juza: Do they taste good? Mm… yep, they’re tasty. They’re a bit sweet, but even those who don’t have a sweet tooth should be able to drink them no problem.

Masumi: If you show them your Horror House ticket, you can get these limited drinks from that café for half price.

Kumon: Wait, really!?

Tsuzuru: Is that why these drinks were prepared today?

Tsumugi: That being said, please do drop by this café after you visit the Horror House.

Tsuzuru: By the way… starting today, videos of our own trek through the Horror House will be uploaded to SNS one by one for the next 3 days.

Masumi: Watch them if you’d like.

Juza: There’s comments sayin’ they’ll check all three days.

Sanderstober 2022

Upon request (and because you're all amazing at them), I have a NEW Sanderstober art prompt list for you this year! Feel free to do one, some, or all of these prompts for October! Day 4: Centaurs are half-man, half-horse. Draw another kind of fantastical creature, that’s half-man, half ANOTHER kind of animal! - Idea from Dominic!

Day 5: Take a typical children’s nursery rhyme… and create a thriller poster based off of it…

Day 6: Design Challenge - create a stylish look (clothes, makeup, whatever you like) based off a candy of your choice!

Day 7: There’s a Pokemon based off almost everything. But not everything. Take a random object, animal, etc. that a Pokemon hasn’t been based off yet… and create one, complete with a corresponding name!

Day 8: Take any piece of Western animation and re-imagine it in anime form. - Inspired by an idea from Dominic!

Day 9: Take any traditional Halloween monster and think about what TikTok challenge they probably would take on. Doesn’t even have to be a real one! 

Day 10: A dabbling in minimalism. Take one or several characters from one of your favorite pieces of media, and try to depict them using only simplistic shapes. See if you can get people to guess the characters or show/movie/video game from the shapes and color schemes. 

Day 11: Always a fave prompt of mine - depict a pleasant fall-related memory of yours using solely fall-related colors (red, orange, yellow, brown, etc.)

Day 12: What if Halloween took place at another time of the year than Fall?? How might the holiday look different? Are there any traditions that might change? Any imagery? Any houses decorated differently??? Depict any aspect of the holiday that may look different!

Day 13: Another fave of mine - Take ANY Disney character and depict what they might look like as a superpowered individual in the Marvel universe.

Day 14: It happened again. This time, they announced a NEW chess piece that would be added to the game of chess. Why are they doing this?? Once again, disregarding how much of a wrench this throws into the gameplay of chess, WHAT does this new piece look like? What is it called? And how does it move on the board? 

Day 15: Re-imagine any Halloween monster or thriller movie baddie… as a character in a fantasy world…

Day 16: Using just inspiration from items found in your kitchen, use them to create a flag for a new country - Idea from Tammy!

Day 17: Draw a dynamic duo in a dynamic couples costume (Jessie & James from Pokémon as the front and back half of a horse, etc) - Idea from Cambria!

Day 18: My first prompt where I can take Inspo from Our Flag Means Death! Take any character from pop culture who isn’t a pirate… and design what they might look like in a pirate universe. Basically… pirate-ify them.

Day 19: Taking inspiration from the Haunted Mansion paintings, where the top of the painting looks pleasant only to then pan down to show the situation is much more grim (give it a Google if you need a reference!), create your own version of one of those paintings! - Another idea from Cambria

Day 20: The return of a classic… take any character(s) from a piece of media and depict them in the style of a Tim Burton character. (Sorry, I just love what you all create with this prompt!)

Day 21: Take any social media app… and turn it into a person.

Day 22: Take any Halloween-esque or Fall-based item/imagery and depict it in the iconic style of a famous painter!

Day 23: Oh my god, they’re doing it again!! Out of the blue, Hasbro announces that Clue will now be adding a NEW guest to the game of Clue who will be joining all the other color-based guests. Why does this keep happening?? Please create this guest and what their colorful name shall be!

Day 24: Take a loved pet from any point in your life, and turn them into a MONSTER.

Day 25: Take one of the characters from our videos (or a character from another piece of your fave media if you prefer!) and draw them with an animal that you think matches them perfectly! - Idea from Cambria!

Day 26: I’m such a sucker for this prompt: Depict characters from one of your fave animated shows in the STYLE of another animated series

Day 27: Since this would probably make Remus happy… if it makes you comfortable, draw a nightmare you remember having in your life, and instead of it happening to you, depict it happening to Remus

Day 28: Since we did the opposite prompt earlier… take a superhero and depict who they’d be in any fairytale you think suits them…

Day 29: Take any Halloween/ Scary movie monster and draw a suit/dress/suitdress inspired by their style and color palette!

Day 31: In typical end-of-the-month fashion, today’s prompt is all about celebrating the reason for the season, Halloween! This year, Halloween’s PR team wants you to come up with a new catchphrase/slogan for Halloween! Please create a Halloween sign/poster with the new phrase featured!! HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

The Ross House was built beside the Potomac River in Bladensburg, Maryland in 1749 by Dr. David Ross, a surgeon in the Continental Army. During the War of 1812, it was used as a hospital for British and American soldiers. The home was carefully dismantled in 1957, but 22,000 bricks, windows, flooring, paneling , doors, and handmade nails were preserved for five years. In 1962, Leonard C. Crewe Jr. sought to build a colonial style home. He commissioned Bryden B. Hyde, a Baltimore-based architect and an officer for the Society for the Preservation of Maryland Antiquities, to design the home. Hyde suggested to Crewe to reconstruct a historic home instead. That’s how this wonderful historic home came to be in Cockeysville, Maryland. 6bd. 7ba. $1.8M.

It’s a glorious Colonial home, yet some people insist that it’s haunted. 

It’s been meticulously restored, even to the detail of adding oyster shells to the mortar to make it more authentic.

The formal dining room is spacious and has a lovely fireplace. The wood details are painted in authentic colors of the period. 

The kitchen is amazing. Not only is it huge, but it has the original hearth and brick oven.

Just look at this wall. 

It can’t any more original than this.

The rooms are so spacious, I can see why it was used as a hospital. This is a lovely family room.

Very authentically restored bedroom.

Two more of the 6 bds. are large and each has original molding and fireplaces.

One of the 7 baths. I see what they trying to do here, make the shower stall look like old wood, but it loses something in the translation.

The home has the typically steep original staff stairs. 

The stairs lead to this lovely room.

Look at this wonderful surprise flanking the fireplace- a tiny library nook.

All of the original antique hardware was used.

The modernized home even has a pool room.

It’s a beautiful home.

There are 10.03 acres of beautiful gardens and an inground pool. 

Plus the guest house alone is worth $650K.

Establish communication boundaries with the deities: spooky club edition

Especially when you first get acquainted and if it's a death or cthonic deity.

E.g. Melinoe is known to inspire madness, anxiety and fear as well as being able to "haunt the living".

(Disclaimer: Please rule out mundane causes of the aforementioned symptoms first and speak to a trained mental health professional)

Me, feeling an anxiety attack build up after I start reaching out to her:

"Melinoe, I need you to find another way to communicate with me because I can't be freaking the fuck out whenever you try to reach out."

I start feeling calmer.

Melinoe is like those ghosts in certain horror movies who will cause absolute mayhem by making people hallucinate while going full poltergeist simply because she has some spooky neurodivergent communication styles and might just benefit from a white board and marker to write messages on instead.

(Thank you, Hermes, for helping me order a discounted spirit board just before I realised she has been trying to reach out to me)

I'm being told that she is also behind the Amityville murders and those type of events, though she won't elaborate just yet.

I was originally going to use the artwork by IrenHorrors featuring Melinoe and her squad of ghosts, however this artwork I found of her just quietly sitting in a chair feels better to me.

It's like those haunted house movies where the empty chair covered by the sheet isn't actually empty and there's a ghost just sitting there.

And the thing is, in many instances these ghosts mean no harm but our western society's perspective on death is so... tainted by fear and the likes that our fears can often be unfounded.

I'll write a post about Melinoe signs and devotions soon but I'd suggest watching non-western movies about hauntings and death such as "the rope curse" and others that tend to involve funerary rights and customs.

TTTE Haunted house headcanons

Thomas: describes the entire thing in great exaggerated detail making everyone scared before they enter. Gets jumped scared.

Edward: is made to go first and tries to explain everything calmly to everyone (it’s alright, it’s just a rubber mask, it’s not going to hurt you, they just jump out at you, that’s all)

Henry: charges through the house without flinching and runs too fast for the actors to jump out at him and scare him.

Gordon: Chastises the actors whenever they jump out at him (“excuse me! It’s very rude to jump out at house guests and wave a knife at them!”)

James: Makes fun of Percy for being terrified, ends up getting scared out of his mind, keeps his eyes closed the whole time and uses Edward as a shield

Percy: gets so scared that he freezes up, needs Toby to carry him to the exist.

Toby: pretends he’s giving a house tour so not to be scared, (“now here we have an American Victorian house in the gothic style, over here is the dining with lovely crimson stained hardwood floors”) while carrying Percy

Duck: goes through the house The Great Western Way ™, which is apologize to the actors whenever he screams.

Donald and Douglas: places bets on who would be the first to scream, both get equally frightened.

Oliver: meh, I’ve seen better

Toad: goes in the funhouse instead.

Emily: waits for the boys to go first and get jump-scared and runs by before the actors could reposition themselves to scare her

Rheneus: goes through twice

Skarloey: calmly walks through whistling the entire time without flinching. Laughs when he gets jump scared.

Duncan: goes in, gets immediate PTSD flashbacks right from the start, has a complete meltdown, needs to be hauled out through the side door.

Bert, Rex, and Mike: all huddle together using each other as shields

Mike: accidentally punches one of the actors

Diesel: laughs when anyone screams, gets too scared towards the end to go on, gets made fun of by Duck

Mavis: doesn’t get scared, stands there for an extra minute every time an actor jumps out at her making it awkward

Daisy: doesn’t go in because she doesn’t want to ruin her makeup

Campaign and Characters: Basic Rundown

(The campaign I’ll be posting about here is a space western with heavy fantasy and horror elements. It draws quite a bit from some of my favorite things including The Locked Tomb, Star Wars, Darkest Dungeon, Cowboy Bebop, and some other cowboy themed D&D stuff I've run in the past)

The campaign starts 3 years after a massive crisis of succession that accidentally fused four different wars into one galaxy wide conflict. After over 30 years of fighting, a new Sovereign of the Galactic Kingdom has been named, and people are trying to pick up the pieces of their scattered lives. This has led a lot of people to flee towards the frontier worlds in an attempt to make their fortune and free themselves from the burdens of living under the various Dukes and Counts that hold dominion over their solar systems (though most fall immediately into the hands of outlaws who treat themselves as monarchs). It’s a mix between the energy of scrappy space cowboys, noble fantasy houses, and a horrifying galaxy filled with undead abominations (at least, according to rumors).  

Our protagonists are a cluster of drifters and runaways who for one reason or another find themselves on an interstellar train that will take them to the edge of "civilized society", which is where they run into each other and experience the first rumbles of the hauntings and horrors that lie beyond what the Galactic Kingdom has managed to conquer. I have 4 players in this game whose characters I'll give a brief description of below:

Dolly (she/her): Dolly is a disgraced reporter who once captured the events of the war and rooted out corruption wherever she found it. Eventually, she poked a little too hard at a cluster of powerful nobles, and a scandal broke about her selling information (and having intimate relations with) some of the outlaw leaders at the edges of the galaxy. She now takes jobs from "Choice Information" a trashy tabloid that has her basically writing buzzfeed style articles and doing vapid interviews for upstart bounty hunters. They give her lackluster information and sexy costumes to wear to every interview. She is a Human Inquisitive Rogue.

Chuck (he/him): Ch’k T’k, nicknamed Chuck, is a bounty hunter who takes any odd job he can find. He’s an expert tinkerer, fast with his shooting hand (which is helped by him having four of them), and is never seen without his Automaton companion, MAC. He does his best to keep a low profile and take jobs that will be easy money without gaining too much attention from the authorities or high profile outlaws, but he seems to have a bad habit of being dragged in over his head and finding dangerous gigs. He is a Thri-Kreen Battlesmith Artificer.

Geraldine (she/her): Geraldine is a wide-eyed debutant from a new money family. Her family didn’t make as much money as they were hoping to selling weapons and supplies during the war, and their lack of progress left her with a lot of free time on her hands. She used this free time to perfect her shooting at the local range, and to indulge in romantic novels that paint pictures of love, lust, and adventure in the frontier worlds. She decided that she dreamed of writing a story of her own, and wandered off to the nearest train station to find a crew to take her on an adventure. She is a Human Battle Master Fighter.   

Prometheus (he/it): Prometheus is a mysterious con artist, and is visibly the most cursed gothic man ever conceived of (though he really doesn’t seem to notice). He is fleeing to the edge of the galaxy, and scamming as many people as he can along the way. He slings snake oil potions, certificates for distant stars, and shockingly openly brandishes eldritch magic when the situation calls for it. Prometheus is a fellow with an untrustworthy face, but a shockingly smooth tongue to compensate. He’s wandering further and further into the galaxy for reasons that perhaps aren’t clear to most, or maybe even to him. He is a Human Great Old One Warlock.

This is our primary cast and crew, and soon I'll be diving into how they met and the shenanigans they got up to during our first session.

Snow on the beach

Taylor said SOTB is about falling in love in a "cataclysmic, faded moment" at the same time and asking if it is really happening. SOTB is rare love song on Midnights that references an ex and 1989. it’s I Wish you would set later with Harry.

Lyric video

The lyric video recreates the 1989 Rolling Stone shoot, which she previously did in part of the End Game music video that also references Harry. In End Game this refers to "I don't wanna hurt you (I just wanna be) / Drinkin' on a beach with (you all over me)".

All for you like Janet

An 80's icon (a la 1989), Janet was going through a divorce from a low-profile/secret marriage when she wrote All for You. All for you is about sexual liberation of being newly single. Taylor and Joe's long low-profile relationship was ending when SOTB was released, we hadn’t seen Joe much for a year, they walked in NY on release day and never again. The split was announced 5 months later.

Literal Snow on a beach

On 29 December 2011 Taylor posted a photo on a beach with light snow behind her. The shadows on her hair show the sun was either setting or rising inland. It's most likely in the afternoon on a western coast. It snows on the beach in NJ, but that would be very early in the morning and hadn't snowed that year. It did snow on the beach in Liverpool that year, 50 minutes from Harry Styles family house where he was that day. Taylor hadn't been seen for 2 weeks before this photo. See more in 2011 timeline.

The opening verse we have lights passing her unbeknownst to her, reminding us of him driving past her house in wish you would at night, and Style/HYGTG when he picked her up at night. She’s wishing for him.

‘Life is emotionally abusive and time can’t stop me quite like you did’ “you did”, we’re talking about an ex driving by. Time is no match for her feelings for the muse, it’s been years and she’s still dreaming of him. 'Life is emotionally abusive' because she’s not moved on despite her efforts to have a new life.

Finally, the flight tells us she and the muse are apart, UK/US or with tours, but she doesn't mind she is unglued at the thought of being with her 'cataclysmic' muse (...her calamitous love. ;))

[Chorus: Taylor Swift, Taylor Swift & Lana Del Rey] And it's like snow at the beach Weird, but fuckin' beautiful Flying in a dream Stars by the pocketful You wanting me Tonight feels impossible But it's comin' down No sound, it's all around Like snow on the beach x3

'Weird, but beautiful and dreamlike' depict the joyous feeling of your desire being reciprocated. She's longed for this person so much she's unglued at the idea that it could actually happen after all the time that passed in verse 1.

'No sound' is also similar to 'you can hear it in the silence' from 'You are in love' which is a beautiful moment. In 'You are in love' she sang that you could tell it was love without words, as here. However, we know the absence of those words haunts them, here's hoping for a good post-beach-fireworks chat.

Harry’s leaked Trouble also refers to snow in an unexpected, beachy place “It never snows in Hollywood / But when we sang it showed us that it could”

[Verse 2: Taylor Swift, Taylor Swift & Lana Del Rey] This scene feels like what I once saw on a screen I searched "aurora borealis green" I've never seen someone lit from within Blurring out my periphery My smile is like I won a contest And to hide that would be so dishonest And it's fine to fake it 'til you make it 'Til you do, 'til it's true

I searched "aurora borealis green" and lit from within and blurring out her periphery are references to Harry's green eyes and the magnetic presence she has sung about in other songs.

In the later released 1989 Vault track Suburban Legends his phone caught her peripheral vision. In Snow on the Beach she's so blissful to be back together she's putting past insecurities aside.

She goes on to resolve to let herself be in this blissful moment, get out of her own way and let her feelings be known. She ends with faking it till you make it. I read that as her seeing and setting aside her insecurities until she is confident and feels secure.

I (I) can't (can't) speak afraid to jinx it I (I) don't (don't) even dare to wish it But your eyes are flying saucers from another planet Now I'm all for you like Janet Can this be a real thing? Can it?

Taylor cannot believe that this person she has desired for so long feels the same, she can't dare to dream about it. Finally, she is all for him like Janet - aka feeling sexually liberated after getting out of a long secret/low profile relationship.

A3! PR Event: Haunted Western-style House | Day 2 Login Lines

Nineteen years. That’s almost two thirds of my life you’ve been gone. I’ll never forget the hot pavement on that sunny, unusually humid July day. I forgave you for this years ago, but if you had known your death would have been a catalyst for so much trauma and pain for your entire extended family, would you have been more careful?

Look at us, those of us who are left. Look at your brother, your daughter, your surviving son. Look at what they’ve overcome in the past nineteen years. Look at me, your niece, and my brother, your nephew who you never got to meet. Look what we’re still trying to overcome. I no longer blame you for the actions of other people done in the wake of your death, but the timeline shifted that day, and whatever track we were on before veered into the wrong lane at 100mph and ever since we’ve been picking up the pieces. I can’t say we would have been better or worse off if we hadn’t lost you, but I can say we all wish you were able to walk your daughter down the aisle at her wedding. Walk your foster son down the aisle at his wedding, because it became legal in 2015 for him and his husband to marry. You had no idea he was gay, did you? Neither did he for many, many years. And the trauma he experienced from your death influenced his own death in his early thirties. Now, you both left widows behind. You have more in common now than you ever did in life.

Look at your daughter, you probably won’t even recognize her, and not just from the weight loss. She’s now a devout Catholic, in a loving marriage with a man who values and respects her, with five beautiful step daughters that call her “mom”. It wasn’t easy for her to get there. She went through far too long of believing herself unworthy and unloveable, and far too many boyfriends who saw her the same way.

Look at your biological son. He’s in the national guard now, making something of his life and what has been left behind. He simultaneously never grew up and grew up all too fast, a lot like me. He doesn’t remember what your voice sounds like, and I wish I could transfer my memory of your voice into his mind. It isn’t fair that I remember your voice and he doesn’t. Really, none of this is fair, never has been, never to anyone. Your generation may have said “Life isn’t fair” with the connotations of “so there!”. Often a justification of their mistreatment of others. But us, we hear it in a different pitch. We hear “life isn’t fair” with “but with compassion and community we can bridge the gaps, even if we can’t close them”.

I don’t remember where I was going with this. I’m sitting in my old room at my dad’s house that he owns, that he bought with money he earned in a career that didn’t exist nineteen years ago. We live in a small town thousands of miles from our ancestral land, in a climate my body will frankly never get used to. I was built for the desert, biologically designed for the Great Basin region. Last time I went back, my anxiety was nearly gone, my acne cleared, my hair didn’t need any styling or products beyond a brush and shampoo. My thyroid condition was getting better at a faster rate than it was before. I thrived in Nevada. I am a Western Shoshone woman. You were a Western Shoshone man, no matter how much you or anyone else ignored it, or explained our genes with ancestry we didn’t share. Las Vegas is haunted ground now. My father plans on never going back, because it reminds him so much of you. And me? No matter how badly I want to return home, it’s not home anymore. It hasn’t been since we lost you. And I don’t think I can rebuild what was destroyed.

11: what was your favorite book that has been out for a while but you only just read?

i mean “the haunting of hill house” for sure!!! it was originally published in 1959!!! not the oldest book i read this year, that would be “all quiet on the western front” if i remember right, but definitely an all time favourite now that i have read it. AND it helped me majorly with my final literature exam so i owe shirley jackson my life basically

13: what were your least favorite books of the year?

very lucky in that i mainly read good books this year. “saturday” by ian mcewan was not one of those LOL in fact i disliked it so much ian mcewan is now my parasocial enemy!!! at least i got to write an essay about it critically comparing it to “jerusalem” by jez butterworth that i did well on so i suppose that’s a redeeming factor. it’s a post 9/11 book and like most post 9/11 stories written by middle class white people in the imperial core well it says nothing and is just insufferable to read, in places its a decent examination OF the thought process of that class post 9/11 and a core theme is generational divide so much of the protags insufferableness is intentional but my god in other places its just not good and i just could not wait for it to be over. i also just dont like mcewans writing style in fairness

yes!!! “beloved” by toni morrison won tons of awards when it was published - pulitzer prize, american book award, anisfield-wolf book award, etc and “the haunting of hill house” by shirley jackson was nominated for the national book award for example

Masumi: Kumon and I finished cleaning up our last station early, so we went ahead and changed and came out.

Tsumugi: Oh, I see. Ah, by the way… I’m glad it looked like that boy you gave love advice to was able to make up with the girl he had a crush on.

Masumi: Yeah. He had a good look on his face when we left the Horror House. (Both him and the other couples who came all looked satisfied after experiencing the Horror House.) (I’m sure this Horror House is a great date spot…)

Izumi: Great work, everyone! Awesome job for getting through it without a hitch.

Masumi: Good job.

Tsumugi: Job well done.

Kazunari: There were tons of visitors on the first day~!

Cóloniélë is maia of Nienna - Nienna and Cóloniélë are almost close as mother and daughter. She has the ablity to heal people mentally. She touches them and heals them mentally - helps them get over their fear or stress and guilt. But it inflicts on her - she feels their pain and it flows through like liquid fire in her veins - she cries and screams the worse they are - or faints if she cannot take it.

Niélë used to be lively and happy - her most precious memory is meeting Nerdanel, she was the happiest then and slowly fell in love with the daughter of Mahtan too.

She never liked Fëanor - or how close he was trying to get to Nerdanel.

But just as when she was about to confess her feelings, Fëanor had won Nerdanel’s heart - it had completely shattered her, especially when they decided to get married at their young age. Niélë had to watch Nerdenel get married and never be able to have her heart - as elves only loved once. Nienna tried her best to comfort her, but what can soothe a broken heart?

Niélë is devasted and hates Fëanor completely when he takes the oath with their sons- leaving Nerdanel heartbroken and left behind – she tries to comfort her while keeping her feelings hidden – she never reveals not wanting to burden her. Plus – since elves only love once, so Niélë will never have her chance. . .

Niélë travels to middle earth sometimes to give comfort as ordered by Nienna - when she returns Nerdanel asks her about her sons and unfortunately, Niélë never has good news for her until the time Maedhros and Maglor had taken in the Peredhil twins.

"Against the hair of your professions": Fictional librarians and hair buns [Part 1]

Often librarians are portrayed as quiet, bookish people, who shush those who are noisy, and act in a stereotypical manner. However, librarians come in many types and kinds, either with an MLIS/MLS or not, and those stereotypes can be disrupted when a librarian changes professions as it changes audience expectations. Even so, librarians aren't united on what the image of librarians should be changed into in order to counter the stereotypes. Through all of this, many librarians are portrayed with hair buns, part of the oft-stereotype. [1] Today, I'll explore that, determining why this is the case, its significance in librarian portrayals, and what it means overall. As Swallow said in Act I of William Shakespeare's classic comedy play, The Mary Wives of Windsor, "if you should fight, you go against the hair of your professions," meaning that you are going against the grain.

Fictional librarians are often shown with so-called "traditional" outfits, looks, and hairstyles, including hair buns, which are symbolic in research around stereotypes themselves. This has even cropped up in webcomics. This is in part because styling one's hair can be "highly politicized" and complicated, especially for people of color, who experience microaggressions when people want to "touch" their hair or question it entirely. Some have even argued that different hair styles can be empowering and resist stereotypes, even as a library can be a "very conservative" place to work, although this may not be as strict in university library environments. Hair can also be an opportunity to communicate change, while serving as an intricate part of the identity and responsibility of the profession itself, with different hair styles having the potential to dispel stereotypes. [2]

In Western animation, this is clear as librarians of color, like Clara Rhone in Welcome to the Wayne, and Mira in Mira, Royal Detective episode ("The Case of the Missing Library Book") don't wear hair buns. Neither does Ms. Herrera in a Archie's Weird Mysteries episode ("The Haunting of Riverdale"). However, the unnamed librarian in a We Bare Bears episode ("The Library") prominently wears a hair bun, and serves as the only librarian of color that I know of, in Western animation, that does so. This could be a function of her role in the library and set rules which may establish that she dresses to "impress" in a semi-formal outfit. So, it could be a consequence of that, as other librarians I've mentioned may work in environments which are more open with their rules around self-expression or care little about how people look.

When it comes to White female librarians in animation, it is a different story. Apart from Kaisa in Hilda, the unnamed librarian in a Steven Universe episode ("Buddy's Book"), the librarian in the first Zevo-3 episode, Mrs. Higgins in a Sofia the First episode ("The Princess Test"), and Amity Blight in The Owl House, who briefly wears her hair in a pony trail, which became a sensation among fans of the series, to give a few examples, many of the other librarians wear hair buns. [3] This includes the librarian characters, who are effectively one-episode-wonders or only appear very briefly, in episodes of Futurama, DC Super Hero Girls, Rugrats, Kim Possible, Timon & Pumbaa, Dexter's Laboratory, Totally Spies, Phineas & Ferb, and The Simpsons, to name a few shows.

Also, Francis Clara Censorsdoll in Moral Orel wears a hair bun. Even, the blue-glasses wearing librarian in The Flintstones episode "The Hit Songwriter" wears a hair bun. At times, it appears that librarians with hair buns are meant to symbolize social conservative and prudish people, like the librarian in an episode of Beavis and Butt-Head ("Cyber-Butt"), who faints when she sees a nude image on a computer screen. Although she doesn't wear a hair bun, what she symbolizes is similar to how some librarians are portrayed in Western animation.

Others have declared that the perception of librarians with hair buns or lace collars should be discarded, as librarians are highly active and high tech now. While someone can easily agree with this, it is harder to push away the image of a spinster librarian with a hair bun, with some wearing buns and braids while working in the library. There is the further point that many librarians may not have enough hair to put into a bun in the first place. At one point, librarians adopted the hair bun style at one time, giving life to what became the stereotype and cliche. However, nowadays many younger librarians have different hair styles, and some might even have better eyesight than anyone else as they don't need glasses! [4] Still, tropes like the"Prim and Proper Bun" remain, with those with this hairstyle said to be in charge or be respected. This is somewhat countered with the "Loony Librarian" trope, which is said to describe a librarian who's let "their profession mess with their mind a little."

I rechecked with @hypster-weebster and verified that this ask is for my moody ex-tycoon, Saigo-san. Well, I’d like to say you totally hit the jackpot there! His house is so far the most interesting one and can be called the Miraitabi meeting place.

His place is very well-known among the neighborhood as the “Ajisai Resident” because this area is seemingly surrounded by the lavish number of hydrangea (紫陽花). No one knows why there’s so many of them —Maybe someone intentionally planted them there?

This place isn’t originally his estate. He inherited it from his late mother and she had bought this place a few years before her death.

His uncle, Shūkaidō Minazuki, is the one who brought up this place to him, but the main reason why he decides to move in is because he wants to know more about his mother

This mansion was built in the taisho-roman style which is a mix of beautiful western and eastern retro fashions, so in order to save its grace; he had to go through several contacts with talented remodelers, architects (hopefully, involving WHITE CO.), and traditional craftsmen to revive this place against the tide of time

Yes, like any ancient residence with obscure history; this mansion was rumored at one point to be the ‘haunted’ place. Some passersby indicate their sight of the mysterious lady with long hair and white kimono by the mansion’s window from time to time

However, this rumor soon fades away after he has moved in with his attendant (Bodyguard in disguise), and Saigo himself swears to never encounter any superstitious phenomenon during his stay there. Also, he strongly doesn’t believe in ghosts to begin with

Ergo, this causes some of his clients beg him to accept their believe-to-be stigmatized properties into his care —And that’s maybe why he called his MC name “Tsukumogami” out of annoyance ...By the way, no one knows whether the ghost they saw is the real thing or not

Not only its mysterious atmosphere, this mansion also has so many secret passages built in almost every nook of it. But so far the only one who seems to remember all details of this mansion beside the rightful owner like him is his attendant, Chishio —He is the one who takes care of the security system there

Chishio’s personal room is also hidden in the basement and he seems to enjoy using those secret bypasses to jumpscare other people on a regular basis, both visitors ...and thiefs. Honestly, knowing this man... He is way scarier than ghosts. R.I.P. those burglars in advance

All three of Miratabi crews establish an agreement that they’re going to have dinner together at Saigo’s place for the sake of team bonding (Of course, this was Asahi’s idea)

P.S. More delicious bonus: The “Hydrengea” is also the symbolic crest of his uncle’s household, which I plan to reveal A LOTTT later... I’ve already mentioned few of them somewhere and the members of this weird family are all named in the theme of ‘flowers’.
