Of course, I'll take any excuse to talk about this humanoid spaghetti noodle!!

I've mentioned that I hc Xenophilius as being an estranged Malfoy which I think is not an uncommon hc. We really don't know anything about the Lovegood family beyond Xeno, Pandora and Luna who marries a Scamander, making the name Lovegood extinct. If Xeno was a Malfoy (one of the other families known for having very light hair) then he would be Lucius's brother or perhaps half-brother, a cousin perhaps. This isn't something I have thought too much on but I know @futurequibblerjournalist and I know he'll be yapping about Xeno at some point....because I asked him to. Anyway, Xeno and Pandora both took new surnames to distance themselves from their families and became the Lovegoods because that says so much about their values and the life they want to lead together. They eloped because Pandora said if she didn't have Evan there then she didn't want a big wedding and Xeno believes the moment should be special and private so he doesn't mind, if that's what the love of his life wants then elopement it is.

Xeno runs The Quibbler, as we know, which has a reputation for being eccentric and a "lunatic rag", so I fully believe that Xenophilius would be a conspiracy theorist which we kinda see when people mention articles from the magazine. Xeno would have been one of the people who stormed Area 51 back in 2019, he's desperate to know the truth about extra-terrestrial life and even if he's British he's convinced that our government is also lying about aliens. He has a theory about anything and everything, he hears people talking about major historical events and he slides in like "have you considered-" and then they walk away. The only people I believe who would sit and listen are Pandora and Barty, who wholeheartedly believes them too.

Xenophilius and Pandora are just so AAAHHHHHHHHH (in a good way), I don't know how else to word it. They are that couple who genuinely believe that home is anywhere that the other person is. They are so deeply in love and it's that love that grounds them and makes them feel safe and protected. In Hogwarts, he is that guy who loves his girlfriend so much, he will walk away from any conversation if Pandora walks in the room because he'd much rather be talking to her. They both feel more relaxed if they've got some form of physical contact with the other whether its holding hands, their knees touching under the desk or the dinner table. Xenophilius is a long beanpole of a man so he likes to stand behind Pandora with his arms around her and his chin on top of her head. They are co-dependant in a non-toxic way because they genuinely are just so in love and become like the parent friends to everyone because they have so much love to give.

I think Xeno's music taste would be such a vibe honestly, I think he's listening to really obscure folk music and he can't understand why other people groan when he plays it. In terms of modern music though, I think he's listening to The Oh Hellos, The Amazing Devil, the people who do the medieval covers of modern songs. He's hearing Good Luck Babe and is like "this sounds different to how I know it". His favourite books are all retellings of myths and legends, or just straight up reading the original texts. He fucks with Welsh folk tales even if he's not Welsh, he just loves the vibes I think so he definitely owns a copy of The Mabinogion. He also loves a good fable because any story that teaches an important life lesson should be passed on to anyone who will listen...even if they are being forced to listen because Xeno is following them through the halls.

"So, in the lights of the recent times, I am going to update you upon a particular film which is nominated for Oscars," (Y/N) announced, clapping her hands as she faced her audience. Chris Evans and Dodger Evans.

While Dodger was bouncing with excitement, partially mimicking his excited mother, Chris sat with a goofy smile on his face. He looked these weekends where he could just spend time away from the glamor world and be with his family.

"And what would the name of this particular movie be, jaan?" Chris asked, grinning from ear-to-ear. "RRR. It's basically short for Rise, Roar and Revolt," came the carefree answer, as (Y/N) searched for the movie in Netflix.

"And what is it about?" Chris queried, receiving an overexaggerated sigh. "Why don't you see for yourself?" She said, starting the movie. Chris watched from the sofa's corner as she quickly grabbed her bucket of popcorn and sat down on the other end of the huge sofa, with Dodger almost on her lap.

Chris focused on the movie until a certain man entered the frame, earning a squeal from his girlfriend and soon-to-be wife. That made him turn to glance at (Y/N), and God! Was he jealous.

Chris observed the man closely. The man's skin resembled to the colour of tea (Y/N) makes. Chai, she refers to it as. Eyes deep and brown and expressive. Dark hair with perfect mustache.

And after the realization dawned upon Chris related to the guy's handsome face, he was jealous, extremely jealous. Glancing back again, he found that both the mother-son duo was staring at the screen with a twinkle in their eyes.

Chris filled his mouth with popcorns before grabbing his phone. His jealous made him search the guy on internet. It wasn't that difficult since they were quite famous right now.

Ram Charan.

Chris took in a deep breath and scrolled down, reading about the guy his girlfriend was having heart eyes for.

37 years old. Comes from a famous acting family based in Southern India. Is quite popular among the ladies. One of the highest-paid. Has a wife.

The last bit of the information made Chris smirk and he, once again, looked at his girlfriend who was... preoccupied. Just as their dog was. Chris turned to look at the screen and realized that it was that song.

The song nominated for Oscar's Best Original Song. It was groovy with catchy beats and dance steps quite too hard and incredibly fast. Both Ram and his companion were dressed to nines as they danced.

"I can dance better," Chris realized that he said his thoughts loudly after the words left his tongue. (Y/N) turned to look at him with a raised eyebrow before turning back with a roll of her beautiful eyes.

"How long is this movie?" He asked after an hour, making (Y/N) sign. "A few more minutes only," she replied, grabbing a cushion and placing it on her lap to fold her arms as she leaned in to support herself.

Chris had to admit that the movie was indeed good with both a great script and acting but it was proving hard for him to focus due to his constant glances at (Y/N) and Dodger's direction.

And then... when Chris had thought that Ram couldn't look more hot, the climax came which proved him entirely wrong.

Ram was dressed as Lord Rama, an extremely famous God's incarnation in Hinduism who had went to Lanka to rescue his wife Sita and kill Ravana.

Chris was himself mesmerized by the look and would definitely be swooned by him if he was not already jealous of him for capturing (Y/N)'s attention.

"Is the Air conditioner working?" Came the chirping voice of (Y/N) which made Chris turn. Eyes glued to the television, her hands wiped a few beats of sweat which were appearing on her forehead.

"It will fell better if you just stop simping over a married man," Chris snapped, his lips pulled in a pout as he stared at (Y/N)'s surprised face which soon morphed into a knowing smile.

"Are you jealous?" She asked, making Dodger bark in approval, making (Y/N) laugh while the father to the dog glared at him. "No, why would I be? I am definitely hotter than him," Chris huffed, returning to the movie.

When the credits song started, (Y/N) rubbed Dodger's head before moving to sit on Chris' lap, making him look away.

"You are jealous of a man I have never met before? Really Chris?" (Y/N) giggled while placing a kiss on his cheek. "Exactly, (Y/N). You have not met him and you are literally drooling over him."

"I am sorry, okay?" She said, kissing him just behind his ear, right at his soft spot. A shiver ran down his spine as Chris grabbed on to her waist. "Promise me you aren't going to drool over any man except for me."

His girlfriend only nodded with a smile, leaning in for a brief and loving kiss which was interrupted by Dodger. Chris and (Y/N) found the dog looking at them with titled head, as if asking 'Really? Here?'

"We are going for the Oscars next week, right?" She asked, hands circling around his neck. Chris nodded with a content look as (Y/N)'s face brightened up.

"I am going to meet Ram then!"

"NO!"

Characters I HC As Autistic (BC Neurodivergent Projection)

1). Entrapta - She-Ra reboot (cartoon, tv show)

This one is essentially canon, in that the creator confirmed it outside of the show, but it wasn't stated explicitly IN the show.

Special interest! Difficulty understanding social conventions! Difficulty "reading the room" (i.e. picking up on the emotions of the people around her, sometimes), stims with her hair, uses her mask as something of a comfort item

3). Lan Zhan, Lan WangJi - Mo Dao Zu Shi (animated chinese show)

It takes place in ancient fantasy china, so there's little to no knowledge of mental health, and I highly doubt the creator of a slightly trashy romance/mystery enovel intended him to read that way, but he really does to me, for a variety of reasons. The most obvious, though, that anyone would notice, is that he's almost entirely nonverbal 99% of the time. And when he does talk he cuts out as many words as he can get away with, leaving people to decipher his meaning from what little he does say. The only people who are good at understanding him are his older brother, husband, and son. It's insinuated that his mother was, as well.

There are a LOT of other things that make him read that way (likes strict routines and gets uncomfortable when those routines are disrupted, struggles to express emotion the way neurotypicals do (especially in terms of facial expressions), doesn't like to be touched except by his husband, doesn't understand social conventions beyond a script he follows for basic etiquette, doesn't make eye contact a whole lot (I've noticed he tends to stand perfectly straight and stare straight ahead rather than look directly at people) etc.), but that one was the first one I noticed, because my little step sister is autistic and has similar ways of speaking.

3). Spencer Reid - Criminal Minds (crime show)

Another obvious one that was all but canon, I believe. I shouldn't have to explain this one to anyone who's seen the show.

4). Wayne - Letterkenny (canadian comedy show)

His extreme emphasis on routine, and his slightly uncommon ways of expressing emotion/speaking, and his straightforwardness, I think, are the things that made me think so. Not that it takes much-- I love projecting my family's cumulative neurodivergence onto any characters I can.

5). Newt Scamander - Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (film)

I know JK Rowling turned out to be a piece of shit, but I still adore Newt Scamander with my whole heart.

Actively avoids eye contact as much as possible, special interest, struggles with social conventions, body language and ways of moving that can be noticably unique compared to a lot of neurotypical people

::Regulus::

Realistic hc: Regulus wore his hair longer the older he grew. His parents didn’t mind the look on him because they thought he looked like Orion’s spitting image with his wild curls. But honestly it was just one of the last ways Regulus copied his older brother that he never bothered to stop.

Hilarious hc: Since Regideon is my OTP... XP He honestly loved doing things that would trip Gideon up on occasion. Which was hard, because Gideon was a rather smart, sharp bloke. But Gideon also had the tiniest of gullible streaks, so Regulus would occasionally take one truth, something Gideon already knew, and insist it was false (usually something about the house of Black), befuddling Gideon. A befuddled Gideon is all red cheeks and pinched eyebrows and incredibly cute. <3

Mean-to-my-mates hc: Regulus didn’t want to die in the Cave. Yes, he had the fake locket and all that worked out with Kreacher in the worst-case scenario, but he honestly thought he was going to make it out and fix his life—with Gideon’s and the Order’s help. He had no plans to succumb to his fate at all. He wanted his happily ever after.

I-will-die-with-this hc: Regulus was not a firm believer in his parents’ ideologies. He was spoonfed filth as a child and tried to believe in it as Sirius began pulling away from them, but that was merely an excuse, a means for labeling his crumbling family. He would not have been vulnerable had Sirius come back and whisked him away to the Potters’ home to live with him and James.

::Luna::

Realistic hc: So many characters refer to Luna in (not as many words) spacey and some such. I honestly think Luna’s much more aware of what goes on around her than she believes and can be and is hurt by it, but she projects positivity from behind a fascinating bravado.

Hilarious hc: Luna doesn’t wait until she’s super older than her friends to have a family. She has her kids around the same time, and it’s all good fun, wondering if the things coming out of Luna’s mouth is sound advice or her pregnancy talking. idk how hilarious this is, but i find it humorous so there

Mean-to-my-mates hc: Not sure how firm I am on this, but half the time I write Luna as a divorcee or someone unhappy in her marriage (regardless of the partner). I think a traditional marriage wouldn’t suit/satisfy her free spirit.

I-will-die-with-this hc: Kinda on the same thought as above (and I was just thinking about this...today? yesterday?), and it has less to do with Luna and more my hcs for Rolf Scamander, but I truly believe the canon description of Rolf and Luna is bonkers. He seems so insistent on taming her, even keeping her from being her wild self at Quidditch games!!! For me, Rolf is someone as zany as Luna, just a different flavor; he’s someone who complements the uniqueness that is Luna Lovegood, never tries to bottle it up (and I’ve been writing him that way for years).

Boys hc’s feats Diaspro

Riven

Riven Cassios was born to two Omega prisoners. What surprised everyone, because staying healthy enough to carry out a pregnancy on a planet that sucks your magic is... Obviously the Rocalucce Council keeps an eye on the planet, they took him out of there because no child would pay because his parents, and he has been in foster homes, although it doesn't last long since the requirements for his adoption were more strict than most -which in the long run the Council would realize was COUNTERPRODUCTIVE for his character-. That is what Darcy detects and why the high spheres are somewhat "permissive" with him.

His mother died giving birth, it was already miraculous that she lived so long and ‘bout his father I think I'm going to kill him too, maybe. The father I assure you would be love him (he called Riven to himself Daru, his gift) thought was not his initial idea, the mother always saw him as an experiment (she was a witch who followed the Ancenstresses). Ohm, also in his blood there are dark elves and giants.

Riven surname is actually the name of the galaxy where he was born or a derivation of it, as is common for orphans. So the boy knows NOTHING about the above.

Timmy and Riven are the only specialists who have passed the full course at Fonterossa, without skips. In the end they bond about it. Timmy gives him a recommendation to work as a part-time mechanic at Magix (good boy face, he knows how to use it)

Timmy

Timeus “tshhhh, it’s Timmy.... i’m not my grandfather” fulfills the physique requisits as much as any other specialist, but it is true that his physique and abilities, adapted to the distance, give him a more "feline" air.

He is also the one who wakes up at night and moves silently, scaringthe rest of the squad if they wake up unexpectedly.

His glasses are for both sight and Aura Vision. His parents are rich enough to pay for an operation, but since he would have to wear glasses for his ability anyway, why? Practical guy.

And the glasses make people look down on him, something that when his self-esteem is high and he’s being rational and cunning he knows it’s wonderful, although many others times may hurt. He is mostly leprechaum with something human.

Nex

Nex is still a Paladin born in Lymphea and with blood of literally ALL races. He adapts well to any planet, although not its people at first. His race mix makes his face “charismatic”, like always draw attention even if people don’t know very well why they are draw.

His ability is Delay Sleep. It allows him to hold over his need to sleep for days without going crazy or losing physical capacity or needing many days to recover (he can stay awake for 5 or more days, sleep 8-10 hours and go back to being his usual self). Sometimes he does not control this well and has plenty of energy in need of drop but he is the one who has the most control of his ability.

One of his parents spent time in Rocalucce Fortress as a "guest" so at times he feels like he has something to prove.

Roy

Coming from Andros, most of the population are merpeople with a few elves and humans. which avoids the 100% aquatic population. Roy, unlike Aisha is mostly human-elf with a bit of merpeople in a grandgrandgrand level. One of his parents comes from one of the colonies on the moons of Andros and he was born there although they moved almost immediately.

Roy’s paladin ability being the canon “Triton Aura” used to breathe underwater. That and learning to swim and drive all kinds of water vehicles was what made him feel "adapted" to Andros. But he always try to be useful.

He only became a Paladin at the beginning of season 6, and it was visiting him that the season began. He’s bi but he thinks of himself as straight.

Nabu

I plead guilty to liking Nabu even though I shipped Aisha with Flora and Nex. So I have a hard time thinking about him. Except, EVERY time I try to think of something. EVERY TIME. Rapunzel. So, he will never cut his hair.

But with an island instead of a tower and a babysitter (male and wizard) more dumbledoor (not, actually more like Newt Scamander mentor like).

Sometimes he misses out on some "social customs/things/normalcies" whatever is called due to his little dealing with people. He may seem naive or that don't understand sarcasm. He understands and learns quickly, but people were very respectful to him and there are things he is not used to. 1/2 merpeople 1/4 half elf 1/4 human as both of his parents are half merpeople.

He likes to swim as much as any merpeople, but they didn't let him do it much because they were afraid he would go away or lost, so he usually went off "to the heights", going up to the rooftops and things like that.

Helia

Helia is trans but keeps his first name as chosen name which I don’t understand. Also he has formally tried study practically everything he wanted. Specialist, Paladin, Wizard (of Threads). Painter.

He can't make up his mind, his family hurries him just to STOP making them dizzy and spend a few years with everything -and actually end a single “major” choice- he wants to experience, that he has a very long life and can dedicate a few decades to Everything and they can support them. Well, more or less, but he was vip pass to all these options because family connections.

Long story about Sky, Brandon and Dia.

Sky, Brandon and Diaspro's first meeting was a show. Has it all. Costumes, lies. Confusion. Kidnapping. And that is why Diaspro insists on the wedding (I would like to mention that although I don’t know her romantic orientation yet surely bi or lesbian, here, Dia is asexual. And Sky is non-binary but his parents do not approve so go for he/him to avoid problem with them. And here our story begins)

A bit of background. Brandon actually hails from Isis, the son of the military and was chosen by the whimsical chibi!Diaspro as a playmate and future personal guard (because then she believed that touching children gave "lice" and her character and age did not have the 18like wall of royal education, then in a random encounter he called her among many things what Dia's mind translated in a strange way "uncracked geode", which is a double-edged compliment in Isis that many would not accept from strangers but she liked it). Rarely they would end up becoming friends in the end. When the series begins, Brandon and Diaspro keep up with calls, which will prevent Dia's reaction with Bloom on the one hand.

On a visit (officially only from the kings of Erakyon to to the kings of Isis) for the children to get to know each other, somehow, they all ended up happily dressing up, with Sky and Dia looking like two pretty princesses and Brandon assessing whether his dress would be green or yellow because Diaspro insisted that she and Sky had already taken the blue and red and so it would be more "thematic".

Here began the first of many attacks on Sky's head, because before it had begun to be rumored (true) that Erendor had fertility problems (btw his race dwarf-high elf and Samara is leprechaum-high elf, Sky gots mostly high elf part). When they came in and saw two girls and a boy, Brandon, not the highest IQ, but one of the wisest of his team and definitely the best fighter, played along so he ended up pretending to be Sky (also helps that his hair colors looks like Erendor) Everything worked out well in the end, although Brandon ended up as Sky's squire (better for him, worse for Diaspro), and Diaspro made Sky promise that he owed her a big favor. Anyway they grew up over the years in friendship and they both knew they were not of each other's true love interest, but, they could put up with each other (because that's what royalty does).

Sky and Diaspro have a sonorous (affectionate) war over Sky's hair to annoy/exasperate Brandon. Diaspro always complains that he doesn't grow it and it would look great then. Sky says that he is fine as with his hair at it is (it's actually Erendor's thing). The soft part of Diaspro that she doesn't usually show off has taught Sky many ways to style his hair and subtly put on makeup to look more feminine if he wants to.

How I am amused by that image from wikipedia and that Diaspro entered Sky's guard so quickly. Another headcanon is that Diaspro would sometimes change her appearance a bit and go into Sky's guard to be with Brandon to annoy him and Sky, when Brandon has to talk about her without giving details, she is simply "his sister Charbonne" (she hates that alias). They were discovered when she was 15 years old but she had already trained and the royal families considered it a sign to formalize the engagement since “they search each other” (people only sees what they wants).

The Diaspro family is not good, first Brandon was a shield (emotional) because as a child they were not “that” bad and then Sky joined him (physically and politically), handling things with Bloom so like that was not a good idea when the floor was full of cracked bottles.

Also, Brandon's ability as a green user is very interesting and helps with this a lot. I temporally call it “Keypoint Warning” and I like it a lot, it's like a "tic" that tells him "be careful, what you say, what you do now, even the smallest thing could change everything for youself (for better or for worse)”. He actually has a scar on his forehead (not a lightning bolt) that his hairstyle hides after “that” day but a little less fine on the words and the kidnappers might have broken his mouth so... His parents have been cured (spoiler: no) of heart attack since then.

Thanks for the ask, Al!

-Matthew really looks up to his Uncle Newt. He'd really like to be a Magizoologist when he's older (at least part-time) and most of that comes from time spent at Newt's house in Dorset.

-Some of Matthew's best memories come from him and Jacob playing with the Scamanders' pet Kneazles. He especially enjoyed hopping around the garden in a line with them when he was young.

-Newt also introduced Matthew to duelling, as he and members of the Doherty family have clashed a few times.

-Matthew has read and reread the Scamander files throughout his childhood, one of the few to have the liberty of doing so. He has to be very careful while at school, though he does ask Newt several questions about it too.

-His time at Newt's house has led to him having a stronger connection to Magical Creatures, and so this is part of the reason why he knows Hagrid.

-At this point, Matthew's spent so much time with Magical Creatures alongside Newt that they don't really scare him much. This really irritates the Acromantula in the Forest, as well as the Chimeras, who like fear in their prey.

To be an actress in an industry such as Hollywood was a difficult job from the very start and having a conservative parents only added to the difficulty levels. And the addition of media and paparazzi in this deal is just... tiring.

God blessed (Y/N) with Tom to keep her sanity safe from all the insane things in her life. He was the moon to her dark night sky; the sun to her clear blue skies. Her knight in shining armor.

With (Y/N) wrapping up Game of Thrones, the media was going absolutely crazy. Adding to that was HBO's official post announcing the much awaited nude scene featuring the actress with her on-screen love interest, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau.

The announcement of her nude scene had not only created chaos in the media, but also in (Y/N)'s family. Her mother had given her an almost threatening lecture, while her father talked of how it would effect (Y/N)'s chances of finding a perfect husband; only that they weren't aware of Tom's presence in her life.

The famous actress sat down on the sofa with a sigh, her eyes locked on the screen of her mobile. Tears welling up in her (E/C) eyes as she recalled her mother's words and her father's disapproving tone.

"Is everything alright, (Y/N)?" The soothing voice of Tom vibrated in her ears as his smell intoxicated her senses, his hands wrapping around her waist. "Usual melodrama of maa," she sighed, snuggling into his chest.

"She only cares about you, darling," Tom said, his fingers running through her (H/C) hair, making her purr like their black cat, whom (Y/N) named Loki. "Threatening me with 'Tum ghar aana phir dikhati hu' is so much lovely," (You come home, then I will show you) (Y/N) said sarcastically.

Tom chuckled lightly, kissing her hairline. "It's almost midnight," he stated casually, making (Y/N) hum.

Tom could see the sight of entire London in her (E/C) eyes. Lights dancing in her eyes like ballerinas performing a ballet. The sweet dance with precise timings and smooth dance moves.

"What else did they say?" Tom whispered, his lips too close to hers. "Papa said that I won't find any good husband," she whispered back, gazing deeply into his blue, deep eyes. Tom smirked, his hands strongly holding her waist.

"Perhaps, I should meet him." They were too close to deem appropriate, almost taking in the same air. Their lips met in a combination of passion and lust. Hands threading through each other's hairs, tugging on them.

Hands went through the thin, dark shirt (Y/N) wore, tracing patterns on her skin as they moved up, leaving behind goosebumps and sending pleasures right to her core.

Lips and tongues clashed in a battle of who know what. As for dominance, it seemed like (Y/N) abandoned the dominance for the night, letting Tom take control over her for tonight.

Never before had they been so close, always stopping after a kiss or two on necks and behind ears. But tonight, the passion was too much, too consuming for both to stop.

Tom pressed (Y/N) against the wall. A gasp breaking through her throat at the contact of the cold wall on her warm, too hot, skin. Tom kissed her neck, creating a purple bruise after another.

The two conjoined there as if the smoke in the winter night. Breathing together and riding the waves of pleasure with each other.

Tom pulled away to look at the masterpiece he created on the canvas his lady love's body was. Hair disheveled, lips swollen, eyes wide with darkness of pleasure clouding them; all along with the black-purple bruises littered over her neck and collarbone.

The rest of the night was spent in the warmth of embraces and waves of pleasure mixed with pain. Sweet words and comforting promises whispered into the ears. A beautiful future ensured.

Perhaps the nature always paired two different beings together. One who likes to break and the other who wishes to collect. A person who can praise and one who can receive it and stay humble.

Yes to the Auror ranks! Although i picture the Aurors as somewhat more like FBI special agents because there are fewer of them and they seem to work on really important/big cases. But anyway. What if as a kid Graves grew up going to MACUSA with his dad, a very senior Auror, and having to sit still at presidential galas and listen to the grown-ups talk. In a moment of inatention, Percival decides to slide from his chair under the table and scuttle away to find more interesting places to be. 

Hc that that’s how he meets Theseus (and his little brother Newt) for the first time, the other boy having also snuck away from the gala to play outside in the garden. Percival joins them curiously. The redhead is bent over, the babe next to him, and he is aaaahing and ooohing at whatever the hell it is they see in the grass. When he approaches, the older boy looks up and stands up, taking his brother by the hand. 

“Who are you?” He says to Percival, puffing up his chest like there aren’t grass stains on the shimmery fabric of his pants. 

“I’m Percival Graves,” Percival says. 

“I’m Theseus, this is my brother Newt. Newt, say hello.” The little boy says nothing and hides behind his brother shyly. Theseus looks at Percival with consideration. “I think I know who your family is.” 

“Hmm. I’m bored,” Percival says. “Adults are so boring, don’t you think?” 

Now there’s a mischevious look on Theseus’ face. “I know, right? Newt ran off and I went after him, gave me a good excuse to get away. We were playing ‘spot the insect’, Newt loves animals.” 

“I’ve got a dog at home,” Percival says. “And a cat, but she’s my mom’s and I’m not allowed to touch her ‘cause she’s a rare breed...” 

“We’ve got hypogriffs,” Theseus replies proudly. “When I’m big enough Mama says I can ride one of them.”  

“Coooooool.” 

“Yeah!” 

Another pause. 

“Wanna be friends?” Theseus asks, holding out his tiny hand. Newt has stopped paying attention to them. He is sucking on his thumb and sitting in the grass, grabbing handfuls of it and bringing them up to his mouth curiously. 

“Best friends,” Percival agrees, shaking Theseus’ hands like they’re grown-ups. And then Theseus turns around, sees what his brother is up to and lets out a shrill “NO!” tearing the grass away from Newt’s hand. Newt starts to cry and Theseus sighs and picks him up, rocking him with well-practiced ease until the cries weaken to sniffles. Percival smiles. 

“Best friends,” Theseus repeats, a bit frazzled but with a wide grin on his chubby face. “It’s a deal.” 

Years later, one Director of Magical Security at MACUSA still keeps up regular correspondence via owl and floo with one Theseus Scamander.
