-Ace was the one that actually helped you the most, by punching you on the top of your head, “You IDIOT!!” the others were all scared, but when Whitebeard didn’t react from Ace attacking you, they didn’t either as Ace shouted at you.

-You took his anger, his rage, but you were shocked by his words, “They wouldn’t want you moping around and feeling bad about yourself! They would want you to live!!” his words made you think that he had lost someone too, something you learned much later, after the two of you became close friends, as he told you about Sabo.

-Whitebeard was appreciative of Ace getting you out of your funk, and with it, your power only grew, as they had seen in several battles, that you were so much more powerful, and you looked like you were having fun.

-Whitebeard ruffled your hair roughly, doting on you, telling you that it was a good thing that Ace knocked some sense into you, and you had to agree with them, even though it hurt.

has a very neat island. he uses whatever time he can to improve on his island layout and is a very good form of stress relief for him

finally, a good coping method

gifts his villagers fruit most of the time, but will occasionally give them furniture and stuffed animals 

taken back by Pietro’s appearance in his campsite but now he is appointed the court jester

will tell no one that he adores the music in Pietro’s house

gets gold roses the quickest out of his classmates, but now he’s struggling with a major flower infestation

pls it won’t stop raining and he’s getting buried in petals

he really plays this game just to garden. this is not animal crossing this is Gardener Riddle Simulator now 

when he gets visitors, he demands they greet every villager in town as well. its the polite thing to do, after all

blathers is a fine lad but there’s one thing about him that really irks riddle

why is he complaining about doing his job?

he owns a museum, he asks for donations, and lets his personal bias get the better of him if given a bug (he says, yk, like a hypocrite)

bugs are part of the island and fit the criteria of things blathers asks for. there is even an entire wing of the museum dedicated to insects.

even if he has a distaste for bugs, the least the owl can do is his job. no one likes a biased educator

riddle wears a pretty little shirt customed designed with stars by sebek

cute, it’s really cute. except those stars are pentagrams, and both the wearer and designer still think they are a neat star pattern 

this was a relaxing game until riddle found out about the island rating system 

he will settle for no less than a 6, yes, six star rating

the bulletin board isn’t used for announcements it’s used for impromptu laws he declared

such laws include no vandalizing the board (only applies to ace), no slander towards one another (watch ur tone, Blanche), no tampering with the able sisters displays (he sees you, azul), and what looks like a wanted ad for Redd

yeah, it seems that azul & riddle have a common goal

sending literal long ass letters to his villagers if he catches them being mean to each other. 

after being enraged by the character limit because he wasnt finISHED, he settled for reporting them to isabelle

the peace era lasted a week

Trey

he loves the squirrel villagers so much, namely Mint. i’ll give you two guesses as to why

besides Mint he has a unique fascination for Blaire because she’s got the attitude of his classmates 😭😭

has the most variety of villager personality types on his island. the most normal villagers he’s had on there have peaked at 2 at one time. he likes the variety

or maybe he likes to convince himself hes the most normal one there who knows

gifts his villagers sunglasses when it’s sunny but then they kinda look like douches especially his jock villagers

keeps Flora on his island specifically so riddle can come visit her and chat in her home

it’s like an unbirthday party, but without any of the work #hallelujah

unsurprisingly his bathroom is the most furnished room in his home. other than that, he loves to decorate the outside of his house with flowers and has a constant rotation of wreaths on his door

big fan of Mable and Sable, they’re so sweet, reminds him of his go-to hedgehogs in croquet

heartslabyul student C wanted a nice moon rug and asked trey if he knew how to get one, and trey went the extra mile to find & give it to him himself

you know damn well he went for the customizable phone case first

that horrific ugly phone case is so persistent in its survival that it transcends beyond the physical realm to do so

doodling on everyone’s bulletin boards so they get messages from their favourite senior <3

keeps one or two peppy villagers, but ultimately enjoys the chill of normal and lazy villagers the most

theyre just so kind.. and supportive :((

wants to collect all of the heart themed characters because they are pink and cute and full of love (is he convincing others or himself?)

ironically he doesnt end up collecting any of those villagers and his favourite villager is Cousteau because he has a funny mustache

let his favourite villager leave when they ask. he takes this so personally. thinks they didn’t wanna be there </3

makes his villagers call him weird names and makes them say inappropriate things

vendetta against the smug villagers. they sound like his bossy brother and grim

Wart Jr. happens to be his favourite villager. he’s never explained why

but grim & deuce say that he and ace both share the same smug ass look

ace does not agree with this statement

unspoken agreement from the dorm to not let ace into their world but he finds a way to break in and vandalizes their notice boards for the trouble

hes so lucky that riddle does not do island inspections because his console would be forcibly taken away

at least isabelle is nice about it, but riddle would flame him

way too lazy to make his own custom designs so he steals them and subjects all his villagers to them

despite all of the chaos he sows, he’s one of the best terraformers and genuinely helps grim with his island. still bullies him the whole time tho💀

he loves Celia

he imagines this is what those indentured princesses in the fairy tales look like before their big transformation

plus Celia looks and is so friendly. she reminds him of his neighbours back home

making a gift out of anything he finds in the nook store.

wraps all his gifts too! has a bunch of wrapping to choose from to match his villagers. his villagers deserve the most!

gets giddy every time he receives a letter from Mom. gets angy that he cannot send letters or gifts back to her

at first he didnt really vibe with Cherry's punk look but shes got a soft place in deuces heart now. appearances can be deceiving and he respects that (some say he has a RBF). Celia has competition

sebek had told deuce that he and Cherry look alike and deuce pestered sebek for a while asking how to look less like a bad boy :((

even in game ace & deuce have matching everything. ace has Hamlet and deuce has Hamphrey to match

they both complain endlessly about their matching stuff but always refuse when their villagers request to move out

still keep up appearances though, they start wars trying to nab a villager the other wanted first

keeps being bitten by wasps because he doesnt know you can catch them with nets

whenever riddle visits he runs around and picks up weeds for him without scolding him

takes his job as the island representative very seriously. you will not catch him slacking in making sure his island is a well decorated habitat 

hasn’t gotten the hang of custom designs but trades the holiday DIYs to floyd in exchange for a few sidewalk/clothing designs

treats any request by his villagers as his god given duty

he was placed on this island to look after everyone and he is going to do his job WELL.

takes every and any opportunity he can to go on leonas island to admire the architecture and try to recreate it himself

has many heart ponds on his island after he unlocked terraforming 

once he had a sleepover with the first years and they switched consoles for the night

deuce was extremely nice and helped catch a few bugs and increase friendship with villagers for sebek. wholesome stuff

but of course the terror that is ace trappola was fighting for everyone else’s console to vandalize- i mean, terraform their island

safe to say no one’s island was safe from a pp pond. thanks ace >:(

deuce did get his revenge though, he teamed up with epel just to make a trash moat around aces house

even though ace is aware that deuce put up a bulletin post on his board calling him stinky, it has not been deleted lmao

Leona

gets rid of all the lion villagers, there can only be one member of the kingscholar family on this terf

he keeps a lot of the peppy villagers on his island

if asked, he will say they are annoying and won’t gtfo but it’s because its too silent and peaceful without the annoyance

hes too used to being interrupted all the time by a tiny cub jumping on him that he doesnt know how to function without it anymore wbk

not that he would kick out as many male villagers as possible but these jock villagers are getting on his nerves. like not even jack is that muscle obsessed

plus, big macho muscle men is such an outdated thing, grow up, Dom.

leaves gulliver alone. his business is his business

for someone so cranky, he beefs with the cranky villagers the most. says theyre so entitled and annoying LMAO

only one he doesnt beef with is isabelle. yeah, she gives him shitty ratings on his island but she’s so sweet, and she’s stuck with ruggies #1 enemy so she deserves the special treatment, you hear?

leona is the first out of his classmates to get his friendship high enough to receive a villager’s photo. no one knows how, but yea, leona and Stella are like besties now. they’re 4lyfers. BFFLS <33

his interest solely lies in giving his juniors the True High School Experience

posts loving reminders on his classmates’ notice boards. such as a very “clean up ur island” on kalim’s and a very kind “the onceler called, he wants his island back” on azul’s

actually they’re not reminders at all, they’re just disguised insults

he also very kindly leaves fruit that epel doesn’t have on his island. he says it was his starter fruit (it was not) so he doesn’t need it 

in fact for some reason his island has become a playground for the first years

despite his complaints about bothering him, he always ends up opening up his island for them, even if hes still complaining during it

do not comment on it if you’d like to keep your eyeballs

Ruggie

runs a not-very-lowkey nook miles ticket business

take that azul, he’s the one drowning in riches now

made mad tickets by being an animal slave trader

azul felt it was morally wrong because they were so cute but ruggie does not give a flying eff

you all think azul's the person who treats people like pawns? absolutely the hell not

my guy ruggie & jamil are the kings of human (in this case, animal) meat shields & theres no time to debate morals in this economy

only one hes not keen on slaving away is Tutu. she simply looks too sweet for ruggie to subject that treatment onto

tries really hard to draw a lil picture of his classmates’ favourite villagers onto the notice boards, because he’s nice like that

plus it doesnt hurt to have a few brownie points with everyone :)

extends extra effort to get into jades good graces because 1. no one wants to be in his bad graces and 2. he is so high maintenance >:( 

ruggie is probably being hella scammed bc jade has been eating up his iron stash with nothing to show for until a few months later

bro’s a pro fisher, he’s beating the fishing tourney with flying colours. knows every fishing trick in the book & helps sebek catch all the fish he keeps scaring away

one peruse into ruggies island and malleus is now convinced that tom nook is some sort of evil mastermind keeping the player and his villagers captive

Jack

increasingly disturbed by a villager named Ace who moved in

he gifted the villager a basketball out of kindness

but seeing how different the villager was from the ace he knew (cough cough, hardworking), jack would prefer if he moved out 

also a time travel anti. his friends are all time travelling but he will refuse to be tempted

stretches with his villagers every morning. it’s good to get the oxygen flowing for a good, energizing start to the day

all of his buildings have either hedges or flowers around them. hes very committed to the aesthetic of Mother Nature

joining riddle in the Gardener Simulator squad. his sole goal is making his entire island a pretty little garden

sometimes he does wish he could have Leif on his island permanently. he likes the friendly lil sloth creechure

not much preference in who moves into his island but he does have a penchant for the sisterly and jock villagers

they’re friendly and always keeping each other in check. it’s a mutually beneficial relationship

plus they have way more integrity than the rest of his friends lmao bye

personally vibes with Sterling for that diligent knight energy. jack has plenty of role models to choose from and this time he happened to want to learn from silver

even though his entire island is the most jock-oriented place, his favourite villager is Bangle. she gets along with almost all of his villagers and is always in a good mood. 

he thinks she has a good personality to lead the island pack

one of the few that tries to even give tom nook an ounce of respect. he wont join in on the hate but he wont necessarily defend the raccoon either

the savanaclaw students adore jacks island and his complete butterfly exhibit

every friday after dinner, the savanaclaw students all huddle and play animal crossing together i will die on this hill

they love to camp out in jacks island and by the savanaclaw lounge, you’ll see a string of photoshoots in jack’s butterfly exhibit

who initiated this? why, leona of course! he’s giving jack the recognition he deserves & it gets the dorm bonding

(it also gets ppl to visit jack’s island more, which means ppl visit leonas island less😏)

Azul

his favourite villager is Marina

she’s super nice and has never hurt a fly. he complies to all of her whims. how can you say no to her??

finally, someone can understand idias penchant for cute things

in tears after knowing the octopi are sought after by the masses he’s so proud

was less proud when jade joked the octopi were endangered bc they were getting eaten like can you not >:((

cannot participate in the stalk market he time travels so much

sure, the weeds will increase but it’s a small price to pay for efficiency 

pays his debts as fast as possible. not because he’s a good noodle, but because he won’t risk interest (even though there is no interest)

has an ongoing (one-sided) rivalry with redd and gathers all of the real artworks he can get

the paintings are a good deal he supposes but redd truly needs a better atmosphere if he wishes to continue selling

his boat doesnt even look approachable, & ambiance is a big factor when getting your clients to be comfortable. azul could totally lend out a few tips. all for the generous price of free!

he changed his mind after he misclicked and bought a fake painting, so he decided to pawn it off saying it was real. as a famous princess once said, some things never change

starting hissy fights with floyd over the villager he wanted moving into floyd’s island

refuses to let floyd on his island for weeks because he’s So Hurt. just look at how upset he is :'(

had Raymond during his hype and refuses to let him go to this day. he’s gotten attached

hes got some cool ass preppy vest and their eyes match!!

often mentions that he wants to invite Tia on his island in hopes someone gets the hint

(so far no one has yet, but jade is a master at playing the long game)

has a concerning amount of sharks on display: both in tanks and as plaques

he misses the hunt <3

kept refusing to give back wisp’s body in hopes something would happen but ur basically forced to give it back ugh

how boring. he hoped there wouldve been consequences or something

cater is constantly handing jade some more trendy clothes because he thinks jade’s fashion is atrocious, but jade. never. wears. them.

hell, next year he might just use his island as a way to recruit people into the mountain-lovers club

makes ugly ass custom designs and genuinely think it looks good (anyone remember that one time jade dressed himself?)

forget leona, maybe it’s jade that has the uncle fashion. socks with sandals and all

aside from his own kin, no one has seen him physically hold a console in his hands, yet, his hours in this game would give idia a run for his money

theres some skeletons in the basement yeah

no seriously, he has skeletons in the basement. it looks like a jail. theres custom design blood on the floor

all that iron he's been pilfering from ruggie goes into steel bars👍👍

his happy home academy scores have reached the peak and hasn’t moved from there at all

says he’s gonna custom design the octavinelle uniform for azul and yassified it up so its a crop top & shorts now :D

his entire head is a radio that is constantly playing bubblegum k on loop

when a villager gifts him something he will make sure to put it on or find a place for it to display right away

spends an ungodly amount of time in the able sisters and nooks cranny because the characters follow him around like little ducks and he likes the sound of their liddol footsteps

also very much appreciates all the authority he has on this island its the small semblance of control his virgo ass can get

he can legit tell a villager to move their house somewhere and they’ll agree with a smile

always treats his villagers with respect

has a strange obsession with fire. he places campfires and torches all over the place

will not rest until his island looks exactly the way he wants, down to the last detail

hella annoyed during island recruiting because he cannot pick his villagers, and everyone’s uniqueness is clashing with the aesthetic jamil was going for, now he has to change it

his favourite villagers are the normal personality ones, and if he could control the villagers that move in, he would have an island to Poppy and Bertha’s liking

another one of the cries when he receives letters from mom squad. shes just really sweet.

Vil

when Whitney moved on his island he got reminded of jack then took it back after getting to know her personality. ik it looks like a bad thing but its not, she grew on him very quick

not very fussy about his villagers, no matter how strange their designs are 

ik ur probably thinking “but some of them are so ugly”, yeah but vil lives with twink he-man tailing him every day

nah im joking its bc he talks to his villagers often and they’re so nice and vil Gets Attached Easily

besides, they love all the clothing and furniture vil gives them. vil can’t even get epel to appreciate his own looks, this is a certified W for vil

sometimes its the inside that matters most <3

while vil kind of still has a bit of celeb status in-game, it’s not over-the-top, so it feels extremely refreshing to be regarded as Just Vil

plus the close-knitted community in the island reminds vil of home. its nice

wishes his villagers were nicer to each other but there isn’t a scold option in the game >:( might report them to isabelle

makes it a mission to get rid of a cranky villager after seeing them be mean to Gala. Whitney is the only ‘mean’ one allowed here

made his own custom designs to fill leonas island with them. the third years stay beefing for eternity

unfortunately for jamil, rook is loud and proud about the fruits of his labour. invites everyone to come take a look at his island and museum

azul comes in frequently to take pictures in the aquarium

jade would be bonding with rook more over the hunt but, they started a bet over who gets the highest score in the fishing tourney so, no bonding today

(there was no competition to begin with since ruggie swept up the entire tourney anyways)

never fails to send each and every one of his villagers a personalized letter telling them how much he adores them

‘you look radiant when you’re asleep’ holds merit because some of his villagers do nap under the trees, but it’s a still a pretty unusual comment to receive

nevertheless, his villagers are very receptive to him and tend to send him many letters back

gets max friendship with so many villagers so quickly and for why?? he just wants their portrait to display in his house

theres a room full of portraits and really it looks more like a hitlist than a documentation of his journey of friendship

do not ask him to choose a favourite villager, for he finds beauty in them all. it is simply too cruel to ask him to pick just one

his favourite villager is Doc. no particular reason but ortho has always wanted a grandparent

plus Doc talks about comics and superheros and ortho will not miss an opportunity to nerd out (even though Doc’s opinions are very on the safe side. ortho thirsts for controversy)

once ortho visited riddle’s island and asked for Kid Cat if he moved out

riddle gave him a generous donation of flowers to send Kid Cat off with😭😭  

if idias skipping his 8 hours of sleep, ortho will make him do the stretches with the villagers (hes the reason why they're all out of sync)

technically ortho joins in but he doesnt exactly need any stretching

hacked the star fragment trees into his world. low risk, high reward!!

Malleus

for the sake of this hc lets say he at least knows the controls

confuses this game for pokemon and tries to “catch” his villagers with the net

gets confused when they get mad at him

hes very very amused by how normal his villagers treat him

these tiny little animals are cowering in fear by the thought of ghosts even though they are technically walking over bones of the dead

they gas him up so much for the tiniest things he does and if it were anyone else but these fluffy animals he would think it was belittlement

it feels like he’s important, not for his titles nor his accomplishments, but just because his animal friends love him

he can see why silver loves to talk to the birds now

when he’s on someone’s island he can lurk and be afk until he’s kicked off

has statues everywhere. he doesn’t really know how to pick them up after theyre put down so don’t mind the random statues by the airport

tries to put down as least furniture as possible bc of one too many incidents of him picking up the sidewalk instead of his fruit

anyone near him during this can add many ancient curses to their forbidden vocabulary👀👀

his favourite villager is Coco and he cherishes her with his life

loves the night walks in the game because he can bump into two things Celeste, or Wisp

hes so intrigued by Celeste shes fr just chilling and living her best life looking at the stars. it reminds him of lilia

given lilia is way more devious so maybe not😔

Wisp is a lot less brave than any ghost hes met and malleus thinks hes adorable. he feels very guilty for frightening him all the time however

it felt so dehumanizing trying to catch a dragonfly he was pouting for weeks

highkey cannot drop the game because he left for a while and when he came back his villagers were wailing about how he left them alone for months

hes never leaving them alone again he doesnt want them to feel abandoned

Lilia

his name in the game is not lilia, oh no

his name is dad. he is now the proud father of 10 more children

debates are still on the table of whether or not tom nook is a legitimate dignified son of lilias

he even has a time out corner for his naughty villagers

its just him barricading that villagers house

he did barricade resident services for a good 15 minutes before receiving an amiibo card from silver and he wanted to use it

favours the lazy villagers because they are a certain brand of adorable and they try to make friends with everyone

technically loves all his villagers but he always points out Kevin because he ‘looks very friendly’

had a big ass laugh after deuce compared Kevin’s smile to treys

when he’s on someones island he treats it like hide and seek. he will never be found

getting access to the custom design was fun for lillia, but not for anyone else

sometimes he throws down some eldritch horror, sometimes his outfits look like a glowstick exploded

his island is in permanent halloween mode 

buries random shit on other peoples islands. they dig it up thinking it’s a fossil and instead get mystery wallpaper, random stacks of clay, and random diys

call it an everyday egg hunt if you will

he has three rooms dedicated to kitchenware and is trying to (more like going to) find a way to cook smth nice for his villagers. its the least he could do as thanks

if not then he’ll just buy fruit baskets and hand them out to his villagers. he’s such an asian dad

doesnt bat in eye when his villagers knock up on his door and barge into his house

he's welcoming them with open arms. why of course Pudge you can sit on the ground and read ur book for as long as you want ^^

(on a side note, Pudge’s face is probably how every visitor on lilia’s island feels)

Silver

thought there were going to be more survival elements to the game since it starts with himself & a group of animals on some remote island 

as soon as the plane was hovering over the island, silver was ticking off potential water, food, & shelter sources

threw him for a loop when he found out how peaceful this game was. it’s pleasant :)

doesn’t stop him from valiantly chasing off the wasps and scorpions and fleas away from his villagers

don’t worry Lolly, you’re under silver’s protection now. nothing will hurt you :)

even though the threats in this game are minimal, silver keeps lights & campfires all over just for safety reasons

if his villagers end up lost, all they need to do is follow the light! and if they want some alone time, the fire can keep them safe & warm <3

he thinks Flick is adorable. has a shy little personality and likes to make art and bug friends (?) 

constantly supports Flick by giving him bugs for commissions. everyone deserves the chance to follow their dreams :)

peacefully picking seashells on the beach while sebek is scaring away all of the fish

really fond of the zodiac furniture. he wants to collect them all

he makes around 100 wishes every time. just lays his console down and presses A

thinks celeste is very sweet. sad that she doesnt visit often

certified photographer. he takes a lot of pictures with his villagers because he’s just. so happy they like his island, they like each other, it’s such a wholesome atmosphere

cater and silver have a shared magicam account dedicated to their pics it’s very cute and the followers mostly consist of savanaclaw and diasomnia members 

loves seeing his villagers interact with each other. their conversations are so cute, they visit each others homes!! bros gonna sink into his mattress and flood it with tears

do not underestimate him, even if it is most likely made up, silver will become fluent in the Language of the Coded Animals

he will not curse but the animal noises are the closest he’ll get if he ever chooses to

all of his villagers get a royalty treatment. silver's residents are the most spoiled residents ever

fills his notice boards with drawings of his villagers saying nice things, like reminding him to drink water, or to hug his friends

at the same time he also puts in survival tips just like how lilia raised him. its a very contrasting mix of messages

Sebek

even online he is Too Much

sprints everywhere and wonders why all the bugs and fish flee

hes got places to be and no amount of time to waste

his home interior is a lot like diasomnia but bro do not let him get ahold of the custom designs

im sure hes a really good artist but anyone who's tried operating the custom designs knows that it zaps any artistic skill you've ever learned

traditional art? fucking amazing. acnh art? now ur kid with a purple crayon

stick figures. drawing the diasomnifam does not work. theres 4 stick figures. one has horns, one has bat wings, ones surrounded by animals, and one is Just Green.

his priorities shifted to practicing custom design until he mastered it

does not take commissions. if he ever bestows a custom design onto someone, its a sign of sebek’s approval/respect of them

hes very committed to the aesthetic. hes terraforming his island every single week based on his current mood (bros going thru it)

competes with silver for every kind of grading they get (happy home academy, island rating, etc)

this is what motivates him to come back and play

dont be mistaken either this is not one-sided. mutual rivalry is the best way to keep the other improving !!

hoards all of the holiday materials to make the diys that he doesnt have or collect

personally having the maddest beef with the snowboys bc one accidental nudge of a snowball resulted in them insulting sebek’s snowmen-building competence

sebek obviously does better the next time, but then the snowboys are just so egotistic for no reason. all they did was sit there and get built, they could never measure up to his master malleus, or lilia

by the third run-in with the snowboys, he just opts to crush or drown the snowballs. the winter DIYs weren’t worth the effort

the fued w/ one Ace Trappola has not ended since the day he got the console because they wanted the same villager and started fighting over Agnes’ amiibo card

amiibo cards can be used multiple times and clearly they both do not know this

probably the only one out of the cast to actually use the 'ask blathers' feature

the owl is a very dutiful and knowledgeable curator. sebek believes he can learn much from him

only thing to complain about is how often blathers is asleep during the day. if blathers were a retainer he most certainly would not make the cut.

How long do you think it takes the WBP to realize you're gone? Obviously their priority is teach, and because you're the one who saved Thatch, they assume your position with them is secure and that you're probably hiding somewhere on board (like you do when everything becomes too much, when you need to get away) with the fruit tucked away safely. And after Teach is apprehended, they go looking for you and... You're long gone. Panic ensues. If this is the version where some of them are starting to regret things, this complicates matters. Marco is proud of you, but horrified. Where the hell are you? He's still obsessed, still needs to know you're alive, gors out flying just to get some hint that you're alive. I don't see the reader escaping to Crocodile and immediately going "okay fuck it mass murder is fine with me now operation utopia let's goooo" so he probably keeps that little bit away from you. Begrudgingly accepts that you're kind of a goody two shoes, even if that's comically at odds with your ability. But there is something to be said about the parallels between calling out to save Thatch and then going on to kill Crocodile's would-be assassin yourself.

ooooooooh yeah, character growth in the "this isn't really how you're suppose to cope, but this is what happened."

After being forced to bond with pirates you want nothing to do with - or want nothing to do with enough that you ran away at the very least, and coming into things with Crocodile - who seems COMPLETELY DISINTERESTED in you beyond offering you the shelter you've requested. Who then goes on to teach you how to deal with what you now posses.

The difference in that would be jarring too. No one's fawning over you, no one's watching you sleep, or drugging your food, or making you participate in anything. You don't have to get permission for stuff, and while you're staying low to avoid detection, there's nothing forcing you into a room or space.

The vibes when the others learn about you too. Relief that you're alive, jealously that you're with HIM, anger that you ran away, maybe some humility in there because of Marco that you ran away because they drove you to it.

Which, yeah, okay, but they're better than Crocodile, they'll prove it.

But doing that means stealing you back, far as they're concerned.

Alabasta is effectively two wars in one as Crocodile moves to take over the country while the WBP move to capture you. In the end Crocodile ends up in Impel Down, along with Ace. You barely get away, and the Moby takes enough damages it has to stay on the island for repairs.

Teach gets free in the chaos and ends up with a different devil fruit - he's the one that still turns Ace into the Marines, a feat he only manages cause the little firebug was exhausted between looking for you, dealing with the war, and doing what he could to keep Luffy alive.

Maybe you even end up traveling with the Straw hats for a while. Robin knows who you are, but she also knows that without Crocodile you're docile, and you're pragmatic - Crocodile lost because he underestimated Luffy. Luffy's not an assassin, and Crocodile's alive. You're not really a revenge type of person.

Maybe you become Luffy's shadow. There's no darkness around him, but he's safe to hide around. You keep so quiet and transformed into shadow for so long that it's easy to forget you're there. You don't show your hand until it's Impel Down and you're protecting Crocodile from some attack or another.

Nice reunion, he's happy to see you for a lot of reasons, glad to have his shadow back. Maybe you're why Ace survives Marineford, and Ace knows it too.

Thatch owes you his life, now so does Ace. In exchange you just want to be left alone. That's a pretty good setup. ^_^

Well, they know each other’s MAJOR secret (i.e. their parentage) and Yara also told Ace about what really went down on Phestris Island with Cipher Pol (when she acquired her Devil Fruit) so I feel like the secrets that they end up keeping from each other are really petty. Like, “I accidentally broke your favourite mug but you assumed Thatch did it and I never bothered to correct you because I didn’t want you to be mad at me”

41) If they had to spend a month apart, how would they fare?

They probably spent at least a month or more apart during Ace’s Blackbeard hunt (before the battle on Banaro Island and its, shall we say, “aftermath”) and while neither of them was happy to be apart from the other that long, they managed to cope alright. They had a piece of each other’s vivre card (Ace had folded his into the shape of a heart before he gave it to her) and could see that the other was doing well through that, and they wrote letters back and forth the whole time. Ace sent Yara a bunch of goodies from his travels, too. Mostly stuff he stole for her.

42) If someone else assumes they are romantic partners, how do they react?

I’m assuming this is before they’re officially together, back in the pining stage lol but Yara handles it with a shrug and a “he’s not my boyfriend, actually” (which Ace has to pretend doesn’t sting nearly as bad as it does). She gets a bit flustered, but is overall pretty good at keeping her racing heart under control (or at least not letting it show on the outside). Ace gets a lot more noticeably flustered. If he’s alone, he probably wouldn’t bother to correct the person (like if a merchant assumed he was shopping for a girlfriend) but if Yara’s there he’ll more vigorously deny it because he doesn’t want to make her uncomfortable— for awhile he just couldn’t fathom the concept of her actually liking him back (poor boy thinks he’s unlovable)

43) If someone else assumes they are blood relatives, how do they react?

They’d think it’s more funny than anything. They look nothing alike. It’d probably become an inside joke about how they wouldn’t wish that fate (being the child of [Ace’s father] or Mihawk) on anyone.

44) If they had to squeeze together in a cramped space, what would happen?

Poor Ace lmao he’s trying his best not to think dirty thoughts (especially before they’re together). If they’re together at that point, though, he might take the opportunity to make a suggestive comment. Depending on the situation, he might even get his wish lol

45) If one of them was in trouble, what would the other do?

Well, Marineford lol — there’s a reason their otp tag is “I’d burn the world for you”— Ace in a more literal sense because of his Devil Fruit, but there’s no lengths Yara wouldn’t go to in order to protect the light of her life.

46) If they could each have one wish related to the other, what would it be?

Yara wishes Ace would be able to fully realize and accept just how loved he really is so he can start to love himself and understand that his life has worth, his existence isn’t a crime, and he deserved to be born.

Ace wishes that Yara and Mihawk would repair their broken relationship and by extension that Yara would accept and embrace who she is. He wants her to find that sense of belonging that she has been searching for her entire life.

47) If they had to solve a complex puzzle together, how would it go?

Yara solves it. Ace watches with his chin resting on her shoulder making unhelpful suggestions and getting shushed in return lol

48) If they swapped bodies, how would they handle it?

It’s too bad Ace and Law never met in canon cuz they’re both gunning for the competition of One Piece’s Most Traumatized, Mentally Unwell Man lmao (Law would probably win on the virtue of Ace at least having Luffy as a surviving family member whereas poor Law lost pretty much everyone, including Corazon ofc) but let’s just say they get hit with Law’s Room powers and that’s how it happens (for the sake of this question I’m also assuming they get full access to each other’s Devil Fruit powers lol)

Ace and Yara know each other’s bodies pretty well so it wouldn’t be completely traumatic for them. Ace is mostly amused by it and spends most of his time playing around with walking through walls and sticking his hand into solid objects. Yara also takes Ace’s powers out for a test drive— she’s always wanted to know just how powerful he really is, so she definitely goes to stand over by the ocean and lets out a few “HIKEN!!!!”s, just for the hell of it. They’re both relieved when they go back to normal, though.

49) If one of them wanted to split up, how would the other react?

If it was earlier in their relationship and they came to the realization that they worked better as friends, they would be able to go back to that state without too much grief. If it came after they’d been together awhile, though, neither of them would take it well at all lol if Ace initiated it, Yara would become petty and angry and vengeful and tbh would probably never speak to him again. If it was Yara splitting up with Ace, then he would get extremely depressed. It would make him hate himself infinitely more than he already does— just another confirmation that he doesn’t deserve to be alive.

50) If they had to write their future selves a note, what would it say?

“Dear future Ace and Yara,

Wherever you are, we hope that you’re happy together and that you both found the peace you have been searching for. We hope that you’re able to fully accept the love that the other person has to offer, and that everything turns out okay in the end. Sometimes it’s hard to see that either of us really will have a future, considering everything we’ve been through, but we hope it exists, and that you found it in good health and spirits. That’s a lot of hope, but times have been dark lately and hope is all we have that we’ll come out the other side alright. But maybe, as long as we have no regrets about the way we chose to live our lives, then that’s all we can ask for, even if one or neither of us makes it out alive.

Some One Piece headcanons that I will go down with this ship over:

Asexual Nami. She'll have sex in order to steal from someone, but she won't enjoy it and she'll feel gross for days afterwards.

Trans Guy Franky. If he can make himself a robot body, he can make himself a robot dick. I headcanon that everyone on Water 7 knows but that nobody thought to bring it up to the Straw Hats until years later when Iceberg is showing Robin some embarrassing photos of him as a child.

Sanji always insists on carrying snacks around with him, in case he ends up stranded on an island again. Zeff thought it was an unhealthy coping mechanism, but couldn't get him to stop.

Post-canon, Chopper sails all of the way to the East Blue at Usopp's request to see if he can help with Kaya's condition.

Luffy has tried to get a tattoo before, probably of something stupid, but it won't work due to his fruit.

Sabo is older than Ace, making Ace the middle child.

Robin has four paper cuts on her hands at any given moment due to reading so much. It annoys Chopper to no end that she won't seek help for them, even though they are minor.

There is a running joke that Zoro knows/is friends with every bounty hunter they come across. Zoro does not care in the slightest, but everyone else finds it funny.

Because of a couple of issues Casey has heterochromia! One eye blue and one eye brown

Jenny canonical like heavy metal so here what I think the boys like mike-pop, Donnie-techno and classic, raph-classic rock and (cononical) hiphop, Leo-classic and lofi/jazzhop

Leo and Donnie like to hang and listen to music together since they have the same taste

Since Leo has that scar on his eye he’s half bind. He can see but it’s fuzzy

All the boys have scars; from most to least scars is raph, Jenny, Leo, Donnie, Mikey.

April, Angel, and Casey have some too but Casey has the most out of the humans squad.

Leo canonical grows plants and I think he would grow one that represent his family; Mikey-sunflower, Jenny-daffodils, Raph-gladiolus, Donnie-Iris, Alopex-Daffodil, Lita-Goldenrod, Angel-Black-Eyed Susan, April-Amaryllis,, Casey-Pink Azalea, Splinter-protea, Tang Shen-Lily of the valley

He can grown amazing flowers but he sucks at grown fruit and vegetables, that’s raph department, but he can kind of grow herbs.

Because he has a metal shell, Donnie had a hard time swimming. He can swim it just makes him really slow. Also he has chronic pain and use a cane.

Donnie also has Depersonalization after he got his body back. Sometimes that makes him slip into the astral plane. First time he had a Depersonalization spell he had a bad reaction, thinking that he was dead and a ghost. He’s working on it though

Foot!Leo had killed people (the writers are cowards for not making him be a killer/j )

Leo also has some Depersonalization as well, it was mostly during his time with foot.

Foot!leo had been tortured as well both my shredder and by kinsun during his time with the foot, he also knows how to torture someone

He, Jenny, and Alopex all help one another cope, since all three have s first hand experience what the foot can do.

Raph during his time on the streets pick up some habit and know a lot on how to survive, one of the trick he knows is how to sew. Another is how to salvage food and how to find edible foods and plants

Casey is very happy to meet raph because Casey believes that if it wasn’t for raph he would have one day have been murder by his dad.

The gang have odd feelings about hob but if they can think of shredder as “uncle saki” they could possibly think of hob as family.

That been said all of the turtles more or less want to stab or kill hob.

Leo is aro/ace, Mikey and raph are bi; Donnie is questioning, and Jenny is demiromantic

Mikey and woody are a couple, raph and aploex are also a couple. Leaving both Leo and Donnie single but there fine with it. But Donnie sometimes thinks it would be nice to have a partner to do science with while Leo is just lonely

They gang like to dress up and experiment with clothes and makeup.

Leo and Mikey were lots of dress and skirts (yes for the Leo one it’s base off his Halloween costume but i think it’s cute) as well as sweater and cute things. Thought Leo like to wear outfits that cover and protect him while Mikey just wears whatever is cute

Donnie wears sturdy clothes (overalls, flannel, cargo pants) as well has long sleeves. Raph wears jackets and heavy layers, casual. And Jenny wears punk.

1. where did you get your idea for them?

mana: hahaha fun story there xia- mana actually started off as a shitty self-insert in the ace attorney rpc + a ton of teenage angst...that being said, over the years, i think one that has remained with her all throughout is the fact that she supposed to be an ordinary human...like, she has no super special powers or destiny tied to her- she's just an ordinary person who was simply given some of the worst hands in life :'D

lam: so actually lam started out as a character for a short story i did for class before i made him mana's high school history teacher. and then about a year later, i thought 'bruh what if i put all of my high school and college anxieties into a muse and the multiplied that by three?' and that's how lam was initially born. robin as always been a huge part of his story too although how she's been incorportated as changed over time!

3. do you have any npcs you’d like to talk about more?

mana: there are quite a few individuals who i could talk about like all the adult figures in her life and how they've all failed her as a child in one capacity or another...however, that's a depressing topic so maybe i'll go with calum's roommate, irene lee. irene is basically mana's antithesis- when they were in college, she was also friends with daniel ( whom she had a crush on ) and calum and more or less wanted to be friends with mana too. the only problem was that to mana, back when they were in college, irene often came off as well-meaning but tone-deaf. like she meant well....but also often failed to take context into account and would say fairly simplistic/blank statements that ultimately wouldn’t help anyone. this is the main reason that both daniel and calum ultimately were more comfortable with confiding in mana.

lam: answered! but also c*ocaine donald and his friendship with lam?? techncially he was robin’s ex at one point, so i’d have to talk about robin too....anyways i feel like most of his development tends to come spontaneously so i’d like to keep it that way for now ^^

8. what songs remind you of your oc?

mana: strangely enough, music isn’t actually something I associate mana with nearly as much as say, her boyfriend or some of my other ocs....that being said, the ost would be more on the softer, resonant side...lots of fruits basket osts ( i don’t want to blame anyone anymore and i will protect you for example ), pleasure by WARPS UP also comes to mind but that’s also for the entire blogs itself. that being said, mana is technically the muse that this blog’s theme was initially based off of :P that and the finale music for legend of korra- it’s got a somber theme BUT there’s a sense of hope. okay yeah, music that is soft, but there’s an undertone of hope and change to it- that’s the kind of music i associate with mana <3

lam: lam, on the other hand, i used music A LOT as inspiration. in particular, porter robinson. basically if it’s more mellow electronic music, again with an undertone of hope, that’s probably gonna remind me of lam....blasting electronic music is usually his way of coping with the bad moments :/ but for specific examples.... mirror, get your wish, and trying to be alive!!

From a medical point of view, he knows how deadly this can be, from a more human point of view, he doesn’t blame you and would probably had tried something similar once in his early twenties (the Devil Fruit helps remove the toxics after that high).

Is probably the most understanding person in this category, Law has PTSD, survivor’s guilt, and irrational thought processes, the man would honestly do some stuff to get rid of even a third of those thoughts. 

Does his best to remove the toxics from your body so you aren’t harmed, but also lectures you on the importance of being safe and reminding you he won’t always be there. 

Tries his best to not be an enabler, he wants you to get better, but doesn’t know what to do to help you. You can tell him how you feel and maybe the reasons why you feel the need to do those things, and perhaps he can help you find alternative solutions.

It be a great couple building! Helping each other being healthy mentally, it’s hard, but it will build your bond stronger.

Portgas D. Ace

Ace is a bit different, he thinks almost egotistically, in which he thinks he is the cause for the issue. Due to his poor self esteem, he gets anxious that you do these unhealthy coping skills, to well, cope with him.

You’ll have to be very open and honest with him on your reasonings, he might still have some doubt, but he will take your word for it and do his best to help you! He loves you and wants to see the most healthy you!

He won’t do anything illegal, despite being a pirate, he’s a bit of a scaredy cat when it comes to certain things and his moral compass. He still sees you as a good person don’t worry, he just feels bad when thinking about it for himself.

Is extremely comforting and nurturing for you, but if you bring it up how he’s a softie, he will blush and pout. 

He wants to help you, but make sure to remind him he can’t “fix” you, he will get a bit obsessed with that and it will start stressing him out too. It’s okay to not be perfect, and that goes for both of you!

WARNINGS: Dark themes, angst, mention of character death, derealization, cursing, trauma, spoilers

♡Luffy: Because of watching their brother, Ace, die in their arms he has PTSD, severe depression, and he does have episodes where he detaches from reality and thinks his surroundings aren't real (derealization). Jinbei will help him cope with his depression and derealization episodes sometimes. He touches his scars a lot, exspecially the one on his chest

♡Zoro: He is highly afraid of his friends and crew members dying, that is why he always thinks he needs to be stronger. So he can protect his friends. He cannot handle the anxiety of losing his friends and a few of his coping mechanisms are sleeping so he doesn't have to think about it and training so he is focusing on something other than the horrible thoughts that come to his mind. On rare occasions he will wake up in a cold sweat because he had a nightmare about what happened back at the Sabaody Archipelago (Arc)

♡Nami: She is afraid that something like the past will happen to hear or her friends so she tries to keep everyone safe in her own ways. She does have PTSD because her past and because of what Arlong did to her mother, her village, and her mentally and physically. Usopp and Luffy will help her cope with episodes she has and try to keep her spirits and tell her they won't let anything like that ever happen to her again

♡Usopp: He is very insecure of himself and how he is perceived by the world, they don't want to be a burden to others and have them clean up their mess. He is afraid his crew will leave him if he made a mistake or not be seen as manly (Water 7 Arc). He has improved on his state of mind and physical well-being...but you can never stop the horrible thoughts that will come from the back of your brain and remind you of horrible things you have done. Nami will usually help him with these hard times and remind him of all the good he has done for the crew and how they can't move on without him

♡Sanji: After the Whole Cake Island Arc he will get reoccurring nightmares about how he was a kid, locked up in a cage, tortured by his brothers and father. He will sometimes cry, Zoro will usually accompany him in these times and let him ramble on about it, cry, stay silent, or even fall asleep on him. Luffy will let him take a break from cooking so he can get some actual sleep and let Nami or Robin cook for the time being if that's what he wants. He doesn't usually let others see how tired he is of doing anything so Luffy and Zoro both have to pressure him to take a break and enjoy the sun or being pampered by everyone a little bit

♡Chopper: Chopper's anxiety used to be really high but after being with the Strawhats he has learned he doesn't need to go by societies rules and can be whoever he wants to be. He usually sleeps in due to his insomnia and tries to make up for it by taking care of the crew while hes awake. He makes sure everyone feels welcome so they don't have to feel like he did when he first ate his devil fruit

♡Robin: She is a bit afraid of not being wanted but after Water 7 (Arc) they have come to the realization that she is truly wanted somewhere safe from her past and the feeling of being hung by the neck if she did anything wrong. She is grateful for such a place as being with the Strawhats and Luffy especially so she will protect him at all cost so she can keep the man who told her to say that she wanted to live to fulfill his wish and become the Pirate King

♡Franky: He is afraid of his closest loved ones dying so he will continue to upgrade himself so he can protect those he loves from harms way. In the beginning he was to afraid to really be close with the Strawhats because he didn't want them to end up like Tom, dying to save his life. He misses Tom dearly but is grateful for his close ones still being alive

♡Brook: Even though they joke about how they are already dead, he is still very afraid of death, as this is his last chance at surviving. He will get depressed about life and how he has left his past crew mates behind but will keep reminding himself he has the Strawhats and needs to see Laboon again

♡Jinbei: Sometimes he feels as if Queen Otohime's death was his fault and how Nami suffered a great deal because he let Arlong loose. He will try not to show it but he is an emotional person, so he will occasionally say sorry to Nami and she will continue to forgive him as she knows he still needs to grow from his slight traumatic past. He is grateful to have such another caring crew. They don't let people judge him for how he looks or acts because they will smash a couple of bitches who hurt his feelings in any way

This may be oddly specific but what the heck, how about a scenario with a g/n reader where they’re a fashion designer, and they’re talking with the Adeuce duo in Mostro lounge about modelling their latest designs for a magicam photoshoot, but Adeuce are too busy and can’t help, so they’re trying to figure out who can substitute on short notice, all while a certain pair of twins can’t help but overhear their conversation (delete if this is too much)

I fastforwarded past the “reader talking to Adeuce about their designs” part so I could get to the more interesting bits~

His heterochromatic eyes peered out at odd bends through the curved cups, shining with glee as he used his newly acquired cup to crown off the formation.

Jade’s gaze returned to you, paired with a fake sympathetic smile. “I’m afraid I will have to ‘cut you off’. Drowning your sorrows with drink is not a healthy means of coping.”

If they keep this pace up, we won’t have anything left for the lunch rush. And how bothersome it would be if he had to take precious time out of his break to restock on their beverages.

“Who cares, as long as I pay for it,” you muttered, slamming a hand on the counter. “Another round, Jade.”

“You are already incurring a hefty tab.” He shook his head--a polite refusal.

“Good,” you grumbled sarcastically. “That means Octavinelle gets another indentured servant when I can’t cough up the cash.”

Jade chuckled, bringing a hand to his chest and not making any effort to deny your grim prediction. “Rather than drag yourself further into the depths of debt... May I ask what it is that troubles you, dear customer? Perhaps we may be able to hear you out and assist with your woes.”

“I’m not sure if you can,” you retorted, fingers rubbing at your temples. “I’ve just lost my two models, and I don’t know where I’m going to find replacements on such short notice.”

“You mean Kani-chan and Saba-chan?” Floyd asked, propping his face up with curled fingers. His cheeks squished against his touch, granting him a more innocent look than usual. “They were with you earlier and left all in a hurry.”

“Yeah. Deuce had a Track and Field Club meet he forgot about, and Ace got detention with Crewel for failing the last quiz,” you groaned, “which leaves me without models for my new collection.”

“Collection?” Floyd’s face suddenly lit up with interest. “Like a fashion collection?”

“Yup, that’s right.” You fished your phone out of your pocket and unlocked it, pulling up your Magicam account. The students of NRC may have boasted magical pens, but you wove your own magic with needle and cloth. “I share the outfits I design and make.”

You tilted your mobile device to show your page. Each image cropped nicely, expertly shot and edited to perfection--very aesthetic. Floyd “ooh”ed and “aah”ed at the designs parading across the screen, but Jade’s eyes immediately honed in on your follower count.

It wasn’t celebrity status like Vil’s cool 5 million count. It wasn’t even decent-sized influencer status like Cater’six digits. But it was at least a few thousand, and numbers like that had reasonable sway.

“I could take pictures of mannequins with my clothes, but it just doesn’t feel the same as when real, breathing people are wearing them,” you explained. “It’s hard to find the right types for this sort of thing...”

The twins hovered over your phone, nearly cheek to cheek and shoulder to shoulder, as they absorbed your Magicam gallery. Spitting images, reflections with slight differences--the shape and colors of their eyes, the black tufts of hair that swung like pendulums, framing their handsome faces. Features delicate, yet sharp.

Your voice trailed off as realizations lowly set in. The longer you stared at the twins, the more pieces seemed to fall in place of the puzzle. “Tall, broad shouldered, and the facial symmetry...” You brought a hand to your chin, brows creasing in concentration.

That’s it.

“You’re exactly what I’m looking for!!” you blurted out, abruptly standing and seizing each of their hands. “Please, be my models!”

“Mmm? Sounds fun!” Floyd threw his head back and laughed, eager to be amused by something new. He turned to his brother. “Ne, ne, Jade~ Can we?”

“Hmm.” Jade cast a cursory glance around the Mostro Lounge. Not a soul in sight. Then he returned to your Magicam page, and its tempting follower count. “Well, the Mostro Lounge has been looking to increase its social media presence. What better way to achieve that than by cross promoting with a fellow content creator? And what’s more...”

He snickered into his hand. “I could not possibly allow Floyd, nor myself, to continue to wallow in boredom.”

“Then...!!” You clutched their hands tighter, hope filling your heart.

“We will lend you our aid for this endeavor.”

“Yes...!! Thank you, thank you so much!!” You clapped in excitement, your legs caught up in a little jig. “Oh, I’ll need to take your measurements, then tailor Ace and Deuce’s original outfits to your sizes. We also need to find a suitable spot for the photo shoot--a place with natural lighting would be best--and, and, and...”

“There will be plenty of time to sort those details out,” Jade calmly reassured you. “Ah, but first... there remains the matter of your drink tab.”

“... Oh.”

“Furthermore, since you are contracting us... You will need to draw up a formal agreement with Azul, and agree to his terms and conditions by signing off on the dotted line,” Jade continued, his tone even and pleasant.

You swallowed hard. A deal with Octavinelle? It may as well have been signing your soul away.

“You got it, riiight?” Floyd inquired in a lazy drawl. “Cuz you’re a fashion designer and all. You must’ve worked with contracts before.”

“You understand, yes?” Jade pressed, chiming in with his twin.

“E-Er, now wait a sec...”

“It’s just business,” the twins recited in unison--their smiles dangerously devilish.

I had the dumbest thought the other day at work that we should just get those blow up puncher things and these dudes could settle their beef with those

Which me me think like oh, maybe they do something similar on the moby to settle beef

Cause like you’re on a giant pirate ship stuck with the same people all the time, there’s gotta be some peeps you just don’t vibe with. So instead of an all out brawl I was like huh maybe they just have some little fight club or something where they get the chance to just absolutely pound on eachother

Maybe some little cuffs to help keep devil fruit users from using their powers, and no weapons

The visuals give me Yusuke and Chuu fighting in the dark tournament, knives to their feets and just pounding on eachother

And the other crew members get to watch (serves as entertainment too!) and they bet on it and shit

Just imagine joining the moby dick and you’re all the sudden pulled up by someone excitingly going oh it’s fight time! And just being like excuse me

(Be interesting even in the yandere bc you maybe get to see one of the guys ‘keeping’ you fighting and you’re like oh that’s extra scary. Like Thatch just absolutely demolishing some dude with his fists and realizing how soft you’re being treated in comparison)

And it’s not even always beef just sometimes two dudes are like hey bro you wanna bet let’s fight

But the commanders organize it or something bc it’s much easier than dealing with constant animosity and fist fights and honestly in my experience most dudes get along better after just punching it out so yeah

Also hot visuals of two shirtless dudes just totally wailing on eachother

(I enjoyed the yyh moment maybe a little too much)

Sometimes you just need to do something physical to get the irritation out of your system, so I can see it. These are fit guys too, so some No Haki/No DF fist fights aren’t going to do much damage, but there’s still the physical exertion.

And they can just yell at each other too.

Maybe sometimes someone wins the fight but the crew is collectively like “yo, you were the asshole, brother. Apologize.” And in that way you get to see the dynamics and culture of the ship.

Honestly it would explain why no one was sussed about Ace’s way of coping when he came into the crew. It’s a little different, but the situation wasn’t the same either, so it worked out.

I loved that scene in YYH too, it was just so raw. It was also a moment for Keiko and Yusuke too.

I like the idea.

I like the idea that, except for when someone was doing it just for fun, Teach never entered the ring. He never has a “beef” with someone. Everyone gets along with him, who would doubt him?

But also, yeah, seeing Thatch and Ace and Marco fight and realizing how gentle they are with you. You see Izou “fight” once, but this shit just keeps easily dodging until his opponent is tired then lays them out. He never drags anyone into the ring, but he won’t reject someone wanting a word with him.

Few do.

Only Marco’s ever landed a hit, and it took Pops stepping in to end that fight. Not that there’s a grudge or any bad blood, but they’re both monsters and things were dragging on too long.

Oda Forces

Nobunaga

Can't deal with heat, pretends he is fine. He is not fine.

May sleep on the balcony.

He works primarly during evenings and at night, as it allows him to focus more easily.

Did not have a heatstroke only due to Hideyoshi's efforts.

Loves all the seasonal fruit.

Modern AU: dresses all in black & would be up to toy water guns fight just about anytime. Loves chocolate ice-cream.

Mitsuhide

Functions primarily at night... Or so it appears, because it's hard to spot him during the day.

Not exactly keen on the fact that he burns and he burns bad. Put him in the sun for a tiny bit too long and those cheeks will stay red for several days - an odd permanent blushy look does not exactly fit a torturer.

Otherwise, he does not feel too uncomfortable.

Modern AU: the one person who always have sunscreen on, even though you'd expect them to forget it.

Hideyoshi

He knows heat can be dangerous. He drinks enough water, dresses appropriately, keeps out of the sun if possible.

He most likely reminds everybody to drink water. To the point of it getting some don't drink just to spite him.

He can cope with it reasonably well, but he absolutely loathes any formal occasions during the summer.

Modern AU: the one person who uses too much sunscreen and is extremely scared of skin cancer. Always has a spare water bottle, in case somebody needed it.

Mitsunari

At first, he did not realise it was summer and instead wondered why his work efficiency dropped.

Takes regular meal brakes, as he is too afraid of spilling water over his reports - and he does need to drink water to be able to work well.

Secretly appreciates Hideyoshi's reminders a lot.

Modern AU: wears sunglasses over his reading glasses, enjoys any breath of cold air - has most likely taken a walk in cool rain just to feel cold for a change.

Ieyasu

He complains only a little bit more.

He groans each time somebody stays in the sun for too long (read: very often).

He stops eating spicy food? The outside world could very well be on fire.

Modern AU: keeps an outside system of dishes for animals to drink water from - he will also fill up any empty bowl left outside for that reason, no matter who set it.

Masamune

He is melting alive. By far, out of all the warlords, he's the worst at coping with heat. Anything above 25C is scalding.

He does not burn too easily. Oddly enough, despite keeping up a daring face, he is very reasonable in regards to taking care of himself.

His scar itches quite often. It just gets sweaty. He hates it.

Modern AU: loves sorbets, especially if they're more so on the sour side. Would probably enjoy holidays somewhere by the water, even (especially) if it was cold.

Uesugi-Takeda Forces + Independent

Kenshin

He doesn’t dislike summer by itself, but he hates getting sunburnt - and it does happen primarily in this hot, unforgiving weather.

He has to abandon his cape for several months each year. Hades and Persephone vibes much?

It is harder to find drinking partners. Soldiers get more tired and are at higher risk of injury too. Summer is taking everything he loves away from him.

Modern AU: the one person who simultaneously loves and hates spending time by lakes and other bodies of water. The cool it provides? Fine. Strangers staring at him whenever he wears swim trunks? Not fine.

Shingen

He doesn’t mind and opts to look for positives to the entire season. He can eat as much fruit as he wants to?

Sweat? Well, he would get sweaty while doing carpentry work just regardless, so why should he care?

He forgets not to stay in the sun for too long.

Overall, he is just happy he is alive and treasures every moment of it. He would definitely love to spend some time in nature, though.

Modern AU: he’d spend as much of the season as possible doing hiking. Another option would be going to the sea and taking strolls on the beach at night.

Yukimura

Likewise to Hideyoshi, he knows all the dangers of overheating and tries to stop people from getting themselves hurt.

However, he does not cope well with heat. He wishes to sleep through the entire days. He is done.

Attempts to fight heat with busying himself with work. It makes it even worse. He still does it to himself each year.

Modern AU: he invested in the AC unit and refuses to bring the temperature even a degree higher than 23C - and that much is already a stretch, he’s just being considerate of the environment.

Sasuke

Oh, his soul hurts. He knows all the modern wonders of AC, fans, readily available ice-cream, oh, he knows. He knows what he has lost.

The only season he regrets going back in time.

He dreams (and plans to) build a solar-energy powered fan. The project is abandoned at the end of each summer, only to be resumed at the beginning of it the following year.

Modern AU: he definitely owned one of those caps with solar-energy powered fan at one point. He probably wore it, because what is fashion?

Kennyo

Well, he lives in a hut in a forest (or he moves there just for the summer). It is considerably colder there.

He is a happy monk. The birds are chirping, the flowers are blooming, vegetables and fruit are fresh - what else could he hope for?

He goes to the spring to collect fresh, cool water. It is refreshing. It never feels just as good as during summer.

He loves the season and he has all the reasons for loving it, okay?

Modern AU: he hates summer in modern times. Why are cities so big? Why so much concrete? Somebody, take him back. Or move him to some remote village or such, he misses his home.
