OK I am just gonna say it.

In regards to the whole "The writers said Ironwood sacraficing his arm means he is giving up his humanity" thing?

I think that they are 100% talking from Ironwood's perspective there.

Now hear me out.

Ironwood is one of the people who most dehumanizes Penny. Yeah sure he's superficially 'nice' when everything is going his way. Be he explicitly had her made as a weapon and the moment its more convenient to treat her as a tool than a person he does so.

Ironwood is fucking weird about his prosthetics. He is always trying to hide them until they are too bulky to cover up with clothing. He's clearly deeply uncomfortable with them and defaults to blaming them for his own behavior.

Compare & contrast to other characters. All of the heroic characters constantly emphasize Penny's personhood and even when disagreeing with her never start couching their language in commands but convincing arguments as they would anyone else.

What's more, Yang, Maria, Fox, Pietro & hell even Tyrian all wear their prosthetics or disabilities very openly and without shame. The shows framing, theme & narrative do not present these things as some kind of loss of humanity or otherwise as a negative. If "Prosthetics eat your soul" was a thing the writers actually felt, it would be more obvious.

Note: I am unsure whether the writers regard Penny as disabled, so I didn't put her with the others.

Penny's new body. Much for much-ness is made about Penny "Becoming a real girl" as though the show hadn't consistently treated her as one from her first moment on screen. & while ignoring the fact that her new body was clearly a magical/Aura construct given it was made up of wobbly green energies under a scan not flesh and bone like other characters.

Even if we ignore all that, when it comes to her new body and that whole angle, while she did show an appreciation for her new tactile senses, she was also shown to be far more vulnerable & generally to be struggling with the new body & it ultimately led to her fall.

This is very much not on brand if we were meant to regard her mechanical form as some kind of problem outside of how others used it to mistreat her.

One of Atlas's core themes' is dehumanization. The people pf Mantle are dehumanized into a faceless mob, a few city blocks that can easily be crushed beneath Ironwood's heel.

Cinder Fall was "adopted" into child slavery where the rights of her abusers to own and harm her always took precedence over her humanity.

The Ace-Ops are trained to regard themselves, their fellows & everyone else as inherently expendable. Cogs in a machine that can be replaced and should not be cared for or mourned.

& most integrally, when Ironwood sacrificed his arm so he could beat Watts. When he had Watts dangling over a lava pit & said he would sacrifice anything to beat Salem. Watts smirked. Because Watt's knew Ironwood's penchant to view harming himself or others as "Ruthlessness" and thus pragmatism was alive & well & would destroy him. Which it did.

The 'other' statement. There is one other line people point to, namely Yang's V8 line, regarding "The mechanical bits are just extra" as somehow ableist. Even ignoring as I said before that I am unsure CRWBY even regard Penny as disabled, or as equivalent to a person using prosthetics. The fact is, I can only view taking that statement as dehumanizing Penny by virtue of her mechanical nature as at best, misinterpreting Yang's statement.

Seriously, they are talking about the fact Penny will still have a soul. IE the very metric of personhood that's used to define every person in universe! It'd be no different if she was made of clay or cloned flesh.

Conclusion. As I said above, if the writers really felt that way about prosthetics, it would be much more overt than one off hand statement that very much seems to reflect Ironwood's thinking not the writers. Ironwood thinks giving up his arm and replacing them with prosthetics is something that makes him less human, a trait he explicitly admired in/projected onto Salem. It makes so much more sense for the writers to be commenting on Ironwood';'s thought process here given it thematically does not align with the rest of the show at all otherwise.

ok actually im gonna say why i think rook and vil are autistic coded coming from an autistic person if u disagree i really don't care tbh get good

ok so first of all vil; vil is coded as a heavy masker, and much like many autistic kids it seems he learned that in childhood, to protect himself from harm, harm that came from bullying he receives because people don't get his actions. he also seems to be hyper-aware of how others perceive him which is the reason he is always bothered when his appearance is anything but perfect (when his clothes are wrinkled, when his hair is out of place, etc). he has trained his expressions to make sure he looks perfect as well and that's something i know a lot of autistic ppl have to go through (same). he keeps a tight schedule and gets bothered when he has to break it. he 100% has texture problems like have you seen the way he describes fabric and how picky he is when it comes to care products??. his special interest is fashion and theater you can see how he changes when he speaks about it, normally vil has a neutral expression speaking but whenever he speaks about them he's always smiling and lets not forget how he spent more than 2 hours straight talking to rook about it like ok if that isn't autistic to autistic communication idk what is. that's probably more but i also have adhd so i can't remember it😔

rook now; rook is interesting because at the same time he is masking, he chooses what to mask and what to not. let's start with the most obvious, his special interests; neige, theater, vil & hunting. again bringing up the way he could ramble for hours about any of those things and how happy he gets when he talks about them. another one that heavily implies his autism is how he was non-verbal as a child, he didn't even cry as a child until he saw neige acting and got so enraptured by it he started to cry, and well as we know is still obsessed with theater. further more trey in a vignette (which a lot of ppl hate rook for which to me is weird like erm did u read the vignette..?) states how rook is so unapologetically honest he just says what is on his head (because unlike vil, instead of being shamed his family supported him instead of shaming) but won't realize that his words might hurt someone because he struggles with getting social cues (which is why he is seen as eccentric and weird) ((same..)). he as well is very aware of his own emotions and how he presents himself, to such an extreme degree he can control his own heartbeat and even remember how many hours he slept, furthermore he finds it hard to open up to others and dislikes being emotional vulnerable and masks in other to protect himself from it. again there's def more but ehehehe anwyays this is just my opinion if u disagree erm okay? Was really debating on whether or not I wanted to answer this since personally I'm a little iffy on writing romantic stuff with toby but I think. Since its not the center piece (?) Of this request I'll let it slide this time

With that said I will say, I'm not sure if my take on the masky/toby dynamic is accurate to most peoples takes since I havent really. Seen much current fan stuff, havent really interacted with the fandom outside of fanart n stuff since 2015 so UHUH!!

Quick warning first portion of this is the admin rambling about their hcs about masky and toby before getting into the actual reader portion; they havent had the chance to talk about their creepypasta hcs in a LONG time 😭😭

Okay the authors note was getting too long but more on how I view the toby and masky dynamic given how I write both characters in my hc/au!

Toby does still try to piss off masky, i think. Since hes just generally an ass and there isnt much else for him to do..

You see I'm still trying to figure out how I wanna write masky and hoodie, since I do wish to honor their roots from MH and mesh together the source with the creepypasta fandoms take.. still trying to hit a balance.. might save that for another post, though! But I do wish to incorporate tim and brian into this as their own thing in my hc I'm just not sure how... anyways summary of what I was gonna say, before I deleted it; masky and hoodie arent around 100% of the time, only really when they're needed or called for. Hoodie is around more, though

Toby, on the other hand is around as a proxy 100% of the time considering. You know he krilled his shitty dad and set his neighborhood on fire

Basically there aren't many opportunities for these two to interact but when he does toby is probably shoving masky, probably trying to snag his mask, ect ect basically doing anything to find a way to entertain and stimulate himself, and that just so happens to include fucking with his fellow proxies

Masky, at least in my writing, is fairly stoic... or at least he keeps his emotions hard to read and every now and then he can be a little unpredictable. Call it a byproduct of being mentally worn down by slenderman in order to work with him, or something

Holds little to no reaction to Toby's antics, actually the only time theres anything dished back to him is when he tries to make a grab for the mask

Okay moving onto the actual request; regardless of how you end up being his kid.. whether it be found family or biologically.. he would try to be the very best dad he can be.. bonus points if you're a proxy as well, I think you two would train together

Bc there is literally no fucking content for this book series and I love the fucking characters so much. Some of the head cannons are horny some are just really sad. Spoilers for sure but if you don’t know what I’m talking about it might not spoil anything.

He loves the idea that everyone knows his bond wants him.

I also think he loves when Oli wants to fuck more than one of them at a time. It’s like a competition in his brain.

I also think it hurt him the most when Oli disappeared. Everyone else already had some type of trauma before that but Gabe didn’t. He literally had a full on break down when he found out she was gone. Plus he was only 14 when it happened.

It feels out of character for me that Atlas is covered in tattoos. He comes from a very wealthy family. And he is like indestructible. So I think they were a form of self harm for him.

Like he’s this self assured asshole rich kid that can do or say whatever he wants bc there will never be any consequences. Except he doesn’t think anyone really loves him.

It’s not until he understands what his mother did for him does he understand and she loved him in the only way she could.

When Oli disappeared I think it solidified in his mind that no one would ever really love him. And that’s when I think he found a way to start getting tattoos. And that shit would have to hurt like hell bc, like I said indestructible. So a little needle isn’t gonna do it.

Gryphon

Gryphon fucks. That’s not even a head cannon that’s just fucking cannon.

While I know Gryphon knows Oli doesn’t belong to him, I also know that when he is fucking her he wants her to forget that.

This is a man who asks her who her pussy belongs to and if she answers wrong he makes her regret it.

Also he is into her leaving marks. He wants the rest of the bond group to know just how much she likes fucking him. And he does know bc he can literally read her mind.

Plus I think when she was still living in the dorms, even though he trusted Gabe to walk her home and keep her safe, he sat out in the parking lot or hung out on the first floor with the security guard to keep her safe.

Okay not just to keep her safe he was also so fucking scared she would run away again and he couldn’t live with himself knowing she was out in the world and didn’t want him as much as he wanted her.

North

The reason North is so mean to her when she first got back is because she hurt Nox. Not because she left him. He can deal with people being mean to him, hating him, but his brother doesn’t deserve that no matter how big of an asshole he might be sometimes.

The reason he thinks she’s a gold digger is bc the only women who would look past the monster of his bond were women who wanted his money. Why would his bonded be any different?

The night they went to the dinner party together he let himself pretend that it wasn’t fake. That he could kiss her whenever he wanted to. That he could hold her hand and she wouldn’t pull away. That she wasn’t acting. That every night she could be his and love him like he couldn’t love himself. That they could be a normal bonded. But when she looked at him with hate in her eyes he was reminded that she wanted to run away again and wouldn’t tell him why. That is the reason when she asked for them to stop at a store he ignored her. If she couldn’t love him then he wouldn’t love her.

But it was so hard. He loved everything about her. He used all of his resources to find out her favorite drink and food. He had contacted every school she had ever went to, every friend she had ever made and asked countless questions in hopes of finding her when she left. If there was anything to know about Oleander Fallows, he knew it. But it didn’t help him get her back.

Nox

Nox didn’t want a bonded. After what had happened in his childhood he didn’t need one at all. He didn’t want one to mirror his parents either. Maybe if he didn’t have to share a bonded with North like his mother and her sister (North’s mother) had he could have given it a try.

But when they got the results back that his brother shared his bonded with him, his heart sunk. Would history repeat itself? Would they be doomed to the same cycle of torture?

Nox wanted to run. He wanted to get as far away from the news as he could. So when he heard that Oli had run the first thing he felt was relief. The second? Sadness. Regret. Longing. And then he settled in anger.

How dare she not want him? How dare she be bonded to him and not want him. Nox felt abandoned. He felt the terror and trauma from his childhood come creeping right back in. So he decided to hate her just like he hated his mother.

He replaced his hatred of one bonded for another.

After a few years of hating Oli and being glad she was gone, she came back. He watched as it destroyed his family once again and he decided that they would all be better if she was gone again. He wished she would just disappear. So instead of being sad that she didn’t love him, that she didn’t want him, that she didn’t care about him, he was angry. So angry he couldn’t sleep. Couldn’t eat. Couldn’t breath. That’s why he started drinking. To be drunk was to be numb. To be numb was to be safe. With her back he knew he would never be safe again.

Oleander

I think Oli’s first kiss was with Nox in the hallway after the tacteam scene and it makes me so mad for her. I hate that scene with Nox so much it made me hate him.

When Oli got away from Davies i think she made up scenarios about each of her bonds. She saw their pictures when she was in the hospital at 14 and their ages so she made up whole lives for all of them. At 16 she decided what Gifts she thought suited them best and what nicknames they might give her. She loved them so much without ever meeting them.

Oli was sure she would die without ever meeting her bonds and she was okay with that as long as it meant they would always be safe.

When she was 14 she was most excited about meeting Gabe and Atlas when she found out they were to be her bonded bc they were the same age as her. Then Nox and Gryphon because 19 isn’t that old but she wasn’t excited about meeting North because he was 24 years old. And that was just gross. What would they even have in common?

When the tacteam found her in the cafe she was excited to see her bonds for the first time but also so fucking scared she couldn’t breath. She never wanted to hurt them.

The first night in her dorm room she cried. She cried so hard she ended up passing out. She cried for all the time she wasted on the run bc what was it for if they were in danger again? She cried for her parents and she cried for herself because she could never have them. She could never love them the way she wanted to because she had to leave them again. She cried so hard and for so long she almost didn’t wake up for class. Her eyes were swollen and her nose was runny.

Oli had a diary where she wrote down all of their last names with hers just to test them out. Oleander Draven? Oleander Shore? Oleander Bassinger? Oleander Ardern? She decided that they would just have to take her last name because she was the central bond. Oleander Fallows sounded best after all.

I've been streaming on twitch for over 4 years. I've made a great community and a wonderful group of friends but I've also had to deal with a lot of aweful people. Recently I've been feeling particularly upset about it all so I'm going to air all my grievances here. TW this mentions bullying, grooming, self harm and abuse. If anyone mentioned in this post trys to comment im just gonna delete it, i also dont care if your fav streamers is here, this is my authentic experience. Also dont go attacking anyone i mention here, the whole point of this is to be better then them.

Rat_emoji

The first streamer I ever had an issue with was Rat_emoji. It all started when I tuned into one of their DbD streams only to find him streaming another, younger, streamers live content.

He had just died to this kid playing Myers, he had TTV in his name and Rat was so mad about what had happened he streamed this kids twitch live to his viewers, all the while making fun of his appearance and stream quality.

A day later I would go back and screen record this whole interaction so I can share that if you want to see it. It felt so disgusting to watch this happen live, he has 100 viewers in chat and they were all being nasty. The only person who told him to stop was drag streamer Suttonfister (i think, 90% sure) who was in the same game and discord call at he time. the whole scene was aweful to witness, it felt like such an abuse of power. Rat didnt directly say anything mean but they made a lot of mean girl comments and didnt moderate anything cruel their chat said, it was obviously intentional.

After this I blocked Rat, it would have been easy to avoid him if he didn't found the stream team "Aussie pride", he got a lot of attention for that and a lot of praise and all of it made me sick. Funnily enough I heard that Aussie Pride was an aweful team to be in. The creators didn't care about the smaller members, planned no events and then disbanded the team with the release of Hogwarts legacy because they didn't want to take a stance on JK Rowling. Honestly it seems like the whole thing was a vanity project. That's why I don't like Rat_emoji.

Dcypherpup

DCpup was the first streamer I tried to network with. He hired me to make some art for him. He wanted me to work on merch for his channel, I declined, saying that I wasnt comfortable with the idea of someone else selling my art. I counter offered to just make him a profile icon, this way we could see how my style suited him and i could work out how to tackle the idea of eventually doing merch.

When the icon was done I sent him the high res file, he asked for my signature (my artist tag, a very small "outcaststars" in the corner) to be removed. When I asked why, he told me he needed it gone in order to upload it as merch.

Naturally I was upset. I explained that we had already made a deal not to do merch yet and I also explained that I was uncomfortable with the idea of removing my tag. I went on to explain why visibility was so important for artists. At the time I was a much smaller content creator and DCpup platform was much bigger.

He apologized and said he would give me a cut of the sales. I said don't bother and reluctantly let him do what he wanted. At the time I was too scared to make enemies so I fell into people pleasing.

I took more work from DCpup because I needed the money and I hoped it would be good for my channel growth. He would upload my work to his store and wouldn't credit me. I was frustrated.

The tipping point was after the final comm I took from him. An animated ending screen. During this process DCpup would message me everyday asking for updates which was annoying. When I delivered the final product he once again asked for my tiny, half transparent signature to be removed. I was so upset and defeated, I told myself I'd fight it but I didn't. I removed my sign from every layer, reanimated the whole thing and vowed not to take work from him.

After the piece was done he wanted to commission me again. I left him on read, then I found out what he was saying about me to other people. A good friend of mine showed me a message he had sent in his stream, telling him not to bother commission me, because I would be too busy doing work for him. I was furious.

Another week later I got raided by someone and told the new viewers to check out my work, it broke my heart when someone who looked at my insta, told me he had no idea I made all of DCpups stuff. Why would he? Dcypherpup went to ridiculous lengths to hide my credit. He was telling people not to contact me and not tagging any comm work with my name. One day he came into my live stream and I was so mad I banned him on the spot .

I wish I had done more to be assertive, live and learn. Funnily enough I found out he posted a big rant, telling people off for supporting JK Rowling when Hogwarts legacy released. Only to be called out for buying it and playing it on his steam, which he had forgotten to make private. He deleted the tweet. What a cunt.

Undertheredmoon and Greenypika

Redmoon is furry streamer that I use to really like. They were funny, had great energy and I would even go as far to say that they were a friend.

All this came to a grinding hault the day he invited furry artist and accused child groomer Daveoverlord to join us on Monster hunter rise live on stream.

Dave wasn't in voice chat and I wasn't reading Redmoons twitch chat at the time, so although I was aware of who Dave was, I didn't realize it was them. When someone messaged me about it a few days later I was mortified, I assumed Redmoon didn't know and I messaged them immediately.

I asked Red if he knew who Dave was and what he had done and the kind of artists he was friends with (cub artists). Redmoon ghosted me, left me on read for a week. I messaged again asking why he wasn't talking to me. He said he was too stressed to deal with this "drama" and didn't care to get involved. He mentioned that if Dave was guilty cops probably would have gotten involved and said he just wanted to focus on his own work.

When I asked Redmoon where he stood on cub porn, he stopped replying. We haven't spoken since.

The same person who told me about Dave joining stream also pointed out that Greenypika was inviting Dave onto his stream. They dm'd greeny and asked them if they knew and greeny said he had no idea and that he'd look into it. Cider and I got into an argument once, the topic of which is no one's business.

His bf weyland got mad at me for it and vague tweeted about it so I decided to start a group chat with them to sort it out. And we did.

I apologised for what I did and cider took some time away from interacting with me. Everyone in this situation wanted what was best. And weyland is now one of my best friends.

Cider and I aren't as close as we could be but that's my fault. They're honestly a wonderful person and I appreciate their friendship. There inclusion in this list is to prove a point later but they're also the only person here who I think deserves success.

Stripeydragon and Break trail.

This one is complicated because it involves someone who ment a lot to me.

Back when the exclusive stream team Break Trail formed, my good friend Marsh joined the team. Being an artist he did a lot of the teams promo art of all it's members. Marsh had a lot of anxieties about the team because he was one of its smallest members and often told me he felt underappreciated or out of place. This feeling for worse when artist/streamer and fellow team member Stripeydragon decided he was going to do a redraw of all of marsh's promo work.

I didn't see Marsh much at the time but when this began he spent the better part of a week in my mod chat expressing how upset he was about it. It didn't help he was already anxious but he felt stripydragon was replacing him and even mentioned a time when he tried to give feedback on stripys work only for him to disregard it. Marsh was really fucking upset.

After stripeydragon posted the work my moderator, Ibn, who had been listening and consoling marsh for a week, decided to comment on the art publically. He said he didn't think stripyes version of the art was better and criticized him of slimming down the fater characters.

I wanna pause this to say I don't condone what Ibn did. He ment well but it wasn't his fight and he shouldn't have commented a critique on something no one asked him to judge. Don't do this. Anyway...

Stripeydragon fucking hated this. Not only did he respond to every tweet, he went into the break trail discord and rallied everyone to defend him and attack Ibn, a lot of break trail members also rushed to the comments to defend stripey and attack ibn. He also posted ibns comment in his own discord to encourage others to dog pile on. This shit got out of hand super fucking fast. Ibn was crying and marsh was pissed. It was betray of trust on Ibns part, but the way stripey responded was downright scary.

Shit was at its peak by the time I woke up (Australian timezone) and I immediately went into damage control. I gave Ibn a huge lecture, I was mad af and told him to apologize. I dm'd breaktrails stream team manager Mari, and tried my best to defuse the situation so that both parties could stop. Everyone deleted their tweets. Ibn apologised a dozen times and Marsh told everyone that ibn was just an asshole.

So the story everyone believes now is that marsh actually loves stripydragons work and Ibn is just a weird jerk. There where no consequences for stripydragons weaponizing a stream team and their fan base against someone on twitter. They're still a member of break trail but the team has been dead for a long time. I understand that Ibn was in the wrong and marsh should have just talked about his issues with his team. But this is another case of someone with a big platform and bigger ego not hesitating to use that to attack others.

Starkymorph

this one is fucked up.

Starky mods for a bunch of break trail members, so he had an inside look into the whole stripeydragon thing. Keep that in mind.

About a year after the stripey incident, I woke up to a message from starky. I had recently finished a commission for starky but apart from that we didn't know each other well.

He claimed that ibn had harassed him on stream by bringing up controversial topics and that because he was my mod he wasn't going to support me any more. I was pretty angry, Ibn was causing trouble again. I dm'd ibn and told him I didn't want to hear what he had to say and instead I just wanted the timestamp on Starkeys VOD so I could see what he did myself.

I watched the VOD and what I saw didn't line up with anything starky had said. He made the whole thing up.

What really happened was, starky decided to bring up "cancel culture" and went on a rant about how it was inherently bad and that anyone who participates in it only does it for "self-aggrandizing reasons". A lot of the shit he said was very thinly veiled right wing bullshit dog whistles.

Ibn asked him to elaborate and said something to the likes of "what about people who cancel pedos and rapists" and starky banned ibn and ended the convo.

Ibn didn't start the controversial topic and he didn't harass anyone. But starky was mad and wanted to attack him, he knew Ibn had a history of starting shit so he came to me with a bullshit story thinking I'd believe him and Ibn would lose his friends. And it almost worked.

I tried to talk some sense into starky, I pointed out that his original message was dishonest. Starky doubled down and made up more lies. He continued to claim that things happened during the stream that aren't in the VOD. He even bought up weylandshere and claimed he was harassing him too, out of nowhere! which if you watch the VOD is also completely made up. He said some ablist shit about "high functioning autism" aswell, its all really incoherent. Non of this is true and I downloaded the VOD so he couldn't hide the evidence.

Starky tried to use my argument with cider and Ibns argument with stripy as evidence that we were bad people. I found this really sinister, because my initial reaction to Starkys story, was that i believed him, pretty much everyone reacted this way. It upsets me that i was almost convinced to distance myself from my best friend because of a lie.

A ton of people didn't watch the VOD and took Starkeys word. Starky blocked me and started asking all his followers and mutuals to do the same. A whole bunch of people sub tweeted about ibn being an abuser and me being an enabler. It was fucking aweful. It went on for days.

This only stopped when Kyziethewolf stepped in and defended me. Even tho starky was one of his best friends, he had watched the VOD and told everyone he was lying. Starky doesn't talk to kyzie now and it really broke his heart.

A lot of people still believe starky and I lost a bunch of mutual streamers support because of this. It's one of the worst attacks I've suffered on twitter/twitch to date.

I found out a few months later he's added "outcast is racist" to the narrative he tells people and there's nothing I can do about that

This also basically ended my friendship with Marsh. I've known marsh for 7 years and hes a friend of Starkeys too. During this whole ordeal he never spoke up, it was only kyzie. I was really upset about this because i feel that Marsh could have made a significant change to how this played out if he had of just stepped in.

When he dm'd me a few weeks after asking if I'm make some free art for his project I told him no. I told him I was hurt. He said he just didn't want to get involved in drama. i think its really harmful to reduce harassment to just "drama". We've stopped talking.

Jayedskier

I met jayed though my friend weyland. I needed a 3D artists and he needed work.

Jayed had recently lost a lot of friends because during COVID he tweeted that people not social distancing at a furcon where putting disabled, high risk, people's lives in danger. Totally righteous imo.

He however also tweeted that anyone who doesn't where a mask should kill themselves and deservingly got a lot of hate and backlash. Lost a lot of friends. Since then he was pretty unwilling to comment on any political shit. Publically that is.

The first fight I got into with jayed was when Ibn reposted a Tumblr thread about the YouTuber keffals, and some of the problematic things she'd done. Jayed loves keffals so he dm'd Ibn about it and started a huge fight defending his favourite YouTuber. I stepped in to try and resolve the fight but no one was really happy.

This argument made jayed realise that he didn't have the same values as the friend group he was in. He liked keffals, he thought it was ok to say the R slur and he felt people should be allowed to support JK Rowling.

He left my discord and I contacted him trying to smooth things over. We talked for a long time and I settled on agree to dissagree the hopes to change his mind on some of these issues.

That didn't happen. Jayed kept starting fights about woke shit, even though he's a self proclaimed "leftist" and it slowly drove a wedge between us. He stopped talking to everyone in our friend group, unfollowed us all on socials.

Artists/streamer and friend Ixu had drawn a big group shot of all of us together. Weyland (who is in this friend group) was pretty angry about the whole ordeal so he asked Ixu for a version without jayed edited out. When he posted this jayed got super pissed about it.

Jayed tweeted about how unwelcoming my community was. Screen caped some DM's and changed the context. I was so angry, I had spent months continuing to offer my friend ship and trying to change his mind. One of the last fights we got into he said he was mad that "people" expected him to show support for Palestine and thats kind of the end of it.

This one hurt because it felt like a betrayal. Jayed you can get fucked dude.

Socksthewolf

This one is super recent and is basically why I decided to write this.

I can't remember how I met socks. They work in the games industry and they have a LOT of money/connections. He gives away a lot of stuff, Donates to people a lot. He very affectionate and Everyone loves him. I even accepted a bunch of charity/gifts from him and in return drew a bunch of gift art.

Socks success made a few mutuals of mine uncomfortable. He had a lot of money to put into stream so his channel grew insanely fast. I'm also told he made comments to some mutuals, comparing channel growth that made them feel bad. He ran multiple giveaways and got partner almost a year after starting stream.

There was some drama between socks and one of his mods. I tried my hardest not to get involved. Socks employs a lot of parasocial strategies in order to retain an audience so he flirts a lot and also has a persona of "I'm you dad" on stream. Idk if this counts as love bombing, but it feels similar.

I heard that one of his mods developed a crush on him and when rejected, he drank himself into the hospital. He almost died.

I spoke with this ex mod about it. He doesn't blame socks for what happened even tho he feels the rejection was harsh. I still feel that socks takes advantage of people with his gifts and parasocial friendship. This is a result of that going unchecked.

One of our mutuals found out about this and was really upset. They tweeted about it and tried to hold socks accountable. Nothing came of it.

I grew distant from socks when he started hanging out with Redmoon a lot. Because I felt close to them at the time I messaged him a about Redmoon and what happened between us. He never replied.

This story takes a dark turn when jayedskier, friend of socks, decided to make that tweet mentioned in his section. Socks also went in on someone jayed had mentioned.

This is about my good friend Weyland. Weyland had had someone very close to them pass away recently. Socks complied some tweets and chat screen caps, and made up a story of weyland threatening to kill themselves.

Some of the messages were about weylands dead friend. Socks knowingly changed the context and lied to make weyland look bad.

I honestly think this is the worst thing on this post. To use the death of someone and the personal anguish of someone and ammo for you bullshit story about them is fucking horrifying.

I replied to socks tweet about weyland, I told him what he was doing was wrong. He told me that he feels bad I'm surrounded by toxic people and that he hopes they get better.

After seeing the way socks treats his audience and the way he lied about another streamer, I genuinely believe hes some kind of abuser. Idk the vibe is REALLY off with this one. This feels worse then bullying, there's an ego about it. I've blocked socks on everything. Frankly they scare me.

Final notes

Anyway that's been my aweful experience with aweful twitch streamers. The whole thing has left me bitter and sad and I no longer want to interact with anyone. idk where to go from here.

Twitch TOS doesn't care what people say or do on other platforms. And with other streamers/mutuals so unwilling to get involved or show support I just feel alone.

I do feel compelled to speak up when I see or experience something I think isn't right. I think a lot of neurodivegant people, like myself, feel that way. But I think it's been terrible for my career. I hate the feeling that I'd be so much more successful if I'd shut my mouth and looked away. Maybe even be partner by now. I know a lot of this comes across as just "furry drama" but i think its reductive to label it as that. Content creators who engage in these kind of harmful behaviors need to be held accountable if we want to see any positive change. And im not saying that means "CANCEL" them. some (not all) of these content creators can still learn and grow and be better. Negative attitudes and dismissive statements of "its just drama" create a space for bullies to thrive

Finally, please PLEASE do NOT under any circumstances harass anyone involved in this post. This is not an attempt to rally the masses to lynch some people, im just telling my story so that next time you see someone come forward with claims about a content creator you like you'll see the situation differently.

I’m respectfully about to lose my mind at some of the fandom rn with the way buddie shippers are being treated… It’s like no one understands the whole point of shipping a couple is to want them to be together, so duh if something happens that could potentially lead to that pairing they’re going to get excited and theorize? Yes it’s absolutely important for Buck to explore his sexuality outside of buddie but the way people are trying to say that buddie shippers are homophobic for wanting endgame buddie….. when buddie is literally a queer ship? it doesn’t make any sense to me as a queer person myself because it’s like- y’all do realize that buck dating eddie would in fact mean that he is still bisexual, and that people have wanted thst for years, so A) why are we shocked and appalled at buddie shippers for being happy that they are one step closer to endgame buddie, B) why are we calling people homophobic or biphobic when they are quite literally shipping two men together, C) why are we all acting as if buddie endgame hasn’t been simmering just under the surface for YEARS and that if they were going to give us buddie, then thag means buck and eddie would both have to come oit as queer…

I’ve seen so many prominent blogs in the community who have made posts like “buck’s bisexuality has nothing to do with buddie and you are a horrible human for even insinuating that” and so many people are agreeing??? And not to mention the fact that now these same people are trying to villainize and trash on Eddie when in all honesty Buck’s behavior in 7x04 was NOT okay- physically harming someone because they’re not giving you attention is never okay (and i’m saying this as someone whi ADORES Buck, he still needs to be held accountable.)

It just reads very icky to me that so many people are screaming “bi pride” but then spewing all of this vitriol over a ship that would fit within Buck’s bisexuality…

It worries me that the writers are going to see this negativity from people and they’re going to just completely back-burner Eddie’s character in favor of Buck and it disappoints me because even outside of buddie, a major tv show portraying a repressed gay poc with religious and family trauma would be EQUALLY as powerful as Bi Buck is……

but i guess that’s just people only caring about the queer storylines when it’s about a white man since these are also the people acting like Hen and Karen or Michael and David haven’t been there the whole time

Do They Actually "Love" You? (BTS edition)

Summary: Does each member of mafia BTS actually love you, or are they just obsessed and don't care?

This is a Yandere story so expect yandere themes.

Namjoon

Answer: Yes.

Namjoon does love you. He loves you a lot, actually! While he is obsessed with you, his love for you prohibts him from going to extremes, such as harming you physically. If he thinks he hurt you, emotionally or physically, he will feel really badly because he cares about you. However, the people who aren't you? That's a whole different tale.

Jin

(A/N look at this lil angel I'm gonna miss him way too much 😭)

Answer: Yes.

Although he has very... VERY, fucked up ways of showing it to you, yes Jin does genuinely have love for you in his heart. It dates back to when he forced your parents to arrange a marriage between the you and him, just because he saw you once and fell in love. His love doesn't overshadow, though, how poorly he treats you out of said love. He sees you as lesser than him, harms anyone when they interfere with him and you, and disciplines you like a helicopter parent.

Yoongi

Answer: Yes!

Soft Yoongi, while always so calm that you can never tell when he's pissed, has so much love for you in his heart! He's soft for you only, by the way. He tries not to show it very often, so that you don't find his weakness and use it to your advantage. But this soft meow meow absolutely 100% is genuinely in love with you. I think that's actually why he's so calm, even if it makes him scarier. He doesn't want you to be fearful of him very often, and doesn't want you to see him snap.

Hoseok

Answer: No.

Oh boy, our first no. So, it's not that Hobi hates you or just keeps you because he likes to see you in pain. No no, that's not him. The reason his is a "no" is because he's very mentally unstable, and he is not in a place where he can truly love something or someone. Hoseok is absolutely messed up and traumatized in the head, and meeting you where the person who began that trauma abandoned him set off a trigger. A trigger that began a downward spiral. Hoseok needs help, because he's way too obsessed with you. He's afraid to let you go because he doesn't wanna experience the pain his mother gave him.

Jimin

Answer: Yes.

Jiminie has so much room for you in his big, soft, clingy heart! He can't get enough of you. He's obsessed with you, but that obsession is out of love. There's just something about you that makes Jimin's heart skip a beat, or even beat faster. He wants to make you happy, and he wants to be the reason of it. He wants to be around you all the time so his heart can truly take in it's love for you.

Taehyung

Answer: Yes.

While he admires being in charge and being the dominant force in your, ehem, relationship... Yes, he loves you! To Taehyung, you're his Queen, his other half, his love! He lives to spoil you and make you smile, because his heart practically needs your smiles to keep beating. Even when you're being defiant or bratty, he will restrain himself from physically harming you or even saying anything that will make you upset. When he does his sexual punishments, he makes sure he lets you know that if it does end up going beyond an acceptable level, to let him know so he'll stop.

Jungkook

Answer: No.

When Jungkook kidnapped you off of the streets, he claimed he loved you. But to be honest, as much as he SAYS he does, I really don't think it's actually real love. He sees you more as an object, a trophy that he took and kept because you accidentally spilled a coffee on him once. He doesn't really respect you at home, can't give you the chance to be respected anywhere else. He uses you and enjoys his life. Even if you (somehow) develop feelings for this monster, don't expect them to really ever be returned. Jungkook could hurt you, and you're not willing to take the chance.

It just boggles the mind how petty someone can be over a fictional character that they created being popular. Thomas Astruc is ruining his own show and screwing over abuse victims all for a grudge against fans who prefer a character he doesn't. I don't condone hate-mobbing him like some people do on Twitter, but he really can't take any sort of criticism huh. How do you claim to have conferred with a child psychologist (I think) and still produce this literal abuse apologia. I genuinely don't understand.

I'm gonna say that Astruc taking any chance to use the narrative to dunk on Chloé and Adrien being evidence of him holding a grudge against their popularity is my personal interpretation of possible influences for their writing. I have inferred it from Astruc's very curt way of speaking to fans of these characters on twitter and the show's abysmal writing of them in ways that prop Marinette up on their backs. None of it has been proven true, but, when the coincidences keep piling up, at some point you're gonna stop believing it's a coincidence. At this point, he is most likely at least subconsciously bitter over Chloé and Adrien, if not consciously so.

Just like how the show's biases concerning abuse might be subconscious stuff going on in the crew's heads. I remember when @infinitysgrace and I used to have to reiterate again and again that Gabriel does love Adrien even if he abuses him, that's often the tragedy of parental abuse, when the fandom kept insisting that Gabriel abusing Adrien was evidence that he didn't really love him. The crew also seems to have a very limited view of what "counts" as child abuse. Apparently isolation, neglect, abandonment and consistently referring to your child by the wrong name don't count as abuse, because all the kids involved got to eat, didn't get beaten and are loved by the people harming them.

I agree that it's very obvious that Astruc can't handle criticism and that mobbing him or harassing him isn't the solution. Astruc has a right to act like an entitled jackass even publically online, just like any other creator or random person. I instantly side eye anyone trying to turn me against someone based on only the accusations that they're deleting negative comments and blocking people giving negative feedback. The fans might be entitled to their opinion, but they are not entitled to a creator's time and attention.

I'm also going to say that, just like I don't read highly personal vent fics, I'm not going to watch vent shows. I stopped paying any attention to Teen Titans Go after they started dedicating several episodes to mocking fans of the original TT cartoon (after their show piggybacked on the fame of said show by mimicking the character designs and using the same voice cast no less). I'm very much done with paying Thomas Astruc's increasingly inane ramblings any attention. It's pretty obvious that social media is influencing his creative process negatively but it's his right to engage with a space that affects him like that. None of us are his friends, family or doctor. It's none of our business what he does.

I haven't heard of the writers consulting any experts on anything dealing with the show, but I do know for a fact that Astruc tweeted a link to a fan's essay on Adrien that was written by someone claiming to be a child psychologist. Said fan praised Adrien's writing and then went on to praise the Sentipeople concept. Since I make it a habit to never actually be the one that starts shit, I never really engaged with their content and blocked them instead, so I can't remember the details of what they said about the psychological perspective on Sentipeople.

Still, I'm 80% sure this is the supposed expert. Regardless, even if this fan wrote essays with 100% accurate real life psychology, child psychology has no one size fits all approach. I, an ECEC professional, sure as hell didn't agree with anything they had to say about SentiAdrien before I blocked them, and that was before canon confirmed the theory in the worst possible way and screwed over abuse victims.

Sorry this is gonna be a bit of a rant since it’s something I’ve had strong feelings about since joining the AG/TASM fanfic part of the internet, and you’ve provided me a great opportunity to talk about it.

As a trans person, I am BEGGING fanfic writers to stop writing Marauders stuff. I’ve seen so many people defend it with “separate art from the artist” but like it or not they are still supporting JKR. Separating art from the artist only really works when the artist can’t profit from it. She has done SO MUCH harm to trans people and particularly trans youth in the UK and it’s so fucking disheartening and gives me such an ick when I see TASM writers also write for Marauders because it truly comes across as “I love and support the trans community except when it comes to this because I like it.”.

Even if you ignore the transphobia and holocaust denial (YES IM SERIOUS, she’s denied parts of the holocaust at LEAST twice and she literally did it a second time the other day), the original writing is so fucking problematic. Things just off the top of my head being;

The goblins being stereotypes of Jewish people

The fucking racism with characters like Cho Chang and Kingsley Shacklebolt

The last Fantastic Beasts movie’s plot literally being trying to make WW2 and the holocaust happen

This point needs to be taken with a grain of salt since this was some bullshit Joanne said after the books came out, but werewolves in the universe being meant to represent people with aids. Which is so fucking awful considering one of the two werewolves was attacked by the other as a CHILD

The most ironic part of this is that if Andrew is truly the person he presents himself as, he would probably fucking despise being associated with HP, even if it is just a fancast. But yeah all this to say fuck JKR, fuck Marauders fans but also thank you so much Katie for that last anon answer because I genuinely don’t see that enough in this corner of the internet.

Even Daniel Radcliffe, Harry Potter himself, has spoken out against her and continues to loudly support the LGBTQ+ communities. When your own beloved Harry doesn't even want to stand by your side, you should know you fucked up. Sadly, she does not, and instead leans harder into her bigotry and hatred.

I've always been someone who is very loud and opinionated when I see things that I disagree with, which I know can rub some people the wrong way, but fuck it. I don't like to whisper about my issues on the sidelines, I like to confront the problem head on by being very clear about where I stand and how I feel. I'm not gonna sit around and let someone align me with JKR just because I'm writing a stupid werewolf and Peter Parker fic that exactly 5 people are reading lol. It's not even a popular fic like get out of my asks jfc. Esp when I can tell this person has not read a single sentence of my story and is completely basing their judgements on my header image of AG's face next to a wolf gif.

In this past week I have seen both a Steven Harrington werewolf au and a Daredevil werewolf au cross my dash. Do we think they're getting called out for supporting HP?? No. Because their actors weren't "fan casted" as something years ago. Fan casts don't even mean anything! There was never a movie about them. AG was never casted or played this role. It's literally nothing but a bunch of fans agreeing that they like his look for a fictional character.

Anyway, I'm also ranting back at you haha. You can rant to me anytime. I love a good rant and I agree with you 100%.

Werewolves were not created by JKR. Andrew Garfield has nothing to do with Harry Potter. Don't make make snap judgments about a person's character based on a picture you saw. Support your trans community. Don't be dick.

And, if they actually read my werewolf au, they would see that it's literally about learning to overcome your own hatred and biases of people different from you and learning to love those you were taught to hate. Crazy concept, I know! 🙄😉

The crimes of the headspace sillies

all of my headspace sillies are in the wrong but they all have justifications and I wanna rant about em now so GATHER AROUND FOLLOWERS

Carly

Carly and Finn were friends for a really long time. Finn showed up LONG after Carly, but they didn't think anything of it- they considered themselves equals and worked together because Finn's... Tendencies... Didn't show up until a couple years after he appeared, and when he showed them, it was REALLY alarming to Carly. Like, "has my friend been possessed by a demon, I know we're gods but are there demons that can possess us?" alarming. Of course, this caused her great distress. She panicked about the possibility that her friend could've been replaced by something bad, and when she accepted the fact that he was still him but he'd changed and was now causing harm to her creations, she was scared. So of course she locked him in the basement! How else was she supposed to stop him? She couldn't think of anything else. Even when Finn was still locked in the basement, she came down and talked to him. Even when he didn't want to, she'd still try. She wasn't heartless. Her decision to isekai herself without telling Finn? She trusted him to understand and not interfere with her story (kinda an. Overestimation but we'll talk about that later.). She didn't even tell Benji what she thought of Finn. She didn't want him to have a bias against him.

Carly had her reasons. But what about

Benji's:

Benji spawned in and was immediately told to be nice to the characters. The first person he ever met told him to keep them safe and trust her words. Carly didn't tell him about Finn, but she sure as fuck told Benji to be his antithesis. Benji trusted her. So when Finn said "Carly was a bitch who didn't like me because she thought I was bad", he immediately took Finn to be a little bit untrustworthy. This is why he didn't let Finn near the control panel for very long at first. And when he saw what Finn did, it made him physically hurt. The day he saw Finn doing angsty stuff with the characters, he started planning to lock him in the basement, taking out everything Finn could possibly use to escape, unknowingly laying the groundwork for his own imprisonment. He was %100 gonna do it if Finn hadn't first. I'm not saying he had it coming, but.... Well, he did. But he was, unfortunately, a little bit justified.

Finn

Finn, Finn, Finn. He had the most justification out of all of them. Imagine that one day you're doing something you've done every day for years, but you do it differently. And suddenly, just for doing the thing differently, people think you're dangerous. So you resolve to do the thing normally the next day.

But you find that you can't.

You've forgotten how.

You try desperately to do it like normal, but the way you're doing it now suddenly feels more normal, more natural, and you can't stop. You can't quite tell what's wrong about it, either, so you just give in and do it in the new normal way. You apologize profusely, but you can't stop doing it. It's all you know.

And then someone throws you in jail for doing it.

They won't let you do the thing, and you start slipping. You rely on the thing. You need it.

Then they, maybe without knowing it, taunt you by showing you how free they are, how normal they are. And maybe it isn't intentional, but you grow to hate them nonetheless. Even if they are the only one who will interact with you.

Then they abandon you without telling you they're going anywhere, and that scares you for reasons you can't comprehend.

Then someone rescues you!

Good, right?

No.

You try to go back to doing the thing, but they won't let you.

And when you finally do the thing again, they have the same reaction as the person who threw you in jail. And you see signs of them preparing to do it again the next day.

Wouldn't you snap?

Of course you would.

It's only natural that you'd lock them up before you could be isolated again.

It's only natural that you'd go overboard when you could finally do the thing you loved again.......

The song Never Gonna Happen by Lily Allen, good Ribbun song or no? It started on my shuffled playlist and it kinda made me think of your Acetate Ribbun fic.

I think it can fit with ribbunnie depending on interpretation and how you view or want the outcome of their relationship to be! For the fic itself I don't think it fits 100% but song inspo never has to be exact, and the way you interpreted the song and writing can be entirely different from how I do. That's the beauty of the arts I think. If you think it fits then it fits! You've given me an excuse to muse about them a little tho... so more to read below if interested. (Same warnings for the fic apply for this talk)

My personal thoughts on this song is someone interested in another person (the singer in this case) but said person isn't interested in them back. But the singer when feeling desperate for love (implied to be sex) decides to call them up anyways knowing their feelings would have them accept the interaction. The singer feeling guilty for this behavior at times and the other party being hurt by it despite also probably knowing it doesn't mean anything when she calls them up but is lovesick so can't help but hope and then be disappointed everytime. Some lines in there about the singer not understanding why this person is still in love with her as well, which I do like and will bring that up later. In the case of Acetate Ribbun's situation, Gangle is taking advantage of the situation to take out her rage (for) on Jax. And because its hanahaki which I like to think flares up when emotional oppositions are high, that means giving him a dispassionate kiss makes his illness flare up and in turn harms him; what she wants. Unlike the singer though, Gangle doesn't necessarily feel guilty for this, in fact most of her guilt stems from the fact she doesn't feel guilty for what she's doing. Aware that what she is doing is wrong but in an act of retaliation toward everything he's done to her, it feels good. I do like the lines from the song about "I don't understand what you're chasing after," because I do think that part fits. After everything she's done to him she's still surprised and even offended Jax is not only still in love with her but might even like her more.

Which brings us to Jax's side; he likes being kissed by her even when he knows she doesn't mean anything by it and that it is just a way to hurt him. He's not clueless about her intentions so isn't emotionally hurt or bothered by it he just accepts it. In fact he's kinda weird about it and it makes him like her more. Because?? Best way I can say it is Jax is a bit of a freak and craves someone to put him in his place because he knows he's a rotten asshole but isn't going to stop or change that behavior any time soon if ever. Knows there are other people out there who hate him, knows he's a bad person but isn't going to do anything himself about it. Deep inside he wants someone to fight back. Falling for Gangle and eventually getting his ass beaten by her were two different things that ironically tied nicely together for his wants. So unlike the other party in this song, he doesn't feel betrayed by her actions. In fact he likes it. What exactly they've been up to and the status of their relationship after this incident I've left up to interpretation for the reader but, Jax and Gangle do have a mutual understanding of it. They're both getting benefits from what they've been up to and are enjoying it for different reasons (maybe sometimes even the same reasons). So are in a ""happier"" outcome than what's implied for the two in the song I think.

The song tells of a situation and doesn't reveal to us if the two in the parties eventually come to a solution though. So parts of the song could work for acetate ribbon, when they're in that moment of stuck in the cycle for those two days.

OK SO ignore my last ask (and delete it too that'd be great-) and ignore the fact I'm too lazy to come up with actual dialog- BUT I enjoy the thought of Player and Spy being bastards and just flirting with each other jokingly (or not on Spy's end) and making the boys much more irate with him. Ofc Spy notices and maybe turns up the charm because 1) you're going along with it, and 2) they're not going to do shit while you're around. AND to fix what I said last ask because I was a bit too excited while making it,, I think some of the mercs might get crushes on the Player. Not to the point of obsession tho! Normal lads who just love the person who's been watching over them, cheering them on, and helping them in the most dire situations!! I think the mercs most likely to fall in love are Scout, Demo, Soldier, and maybe Sniper.

HGJKGVK OMG WALNUT This is absolutely perfect, I love it. I 100% advocate for the Player being a bastard lmao, it's so fun. And btw, how are you so good at drawing Spy?! The expressions and everything are perfect (with the Player too lol, I love 'em), he looks great. :D I lowkey feel like every time I see your art of a character - any character - they end up becoming one of my favorites just because of how you portray them. As is the case here. <3333

I think the Player would be more impassive in reaction to Spy’s flirting at first, if not just because they think he’ll grow bored with it after a time. (That’s why he’s doing it - for entertainment, right?) However, after a period of time, he surprisingly doesn’t. You’re not sure if it’s because he has a genuine interest or if he just likes getting reactions from you (and the boys), but you figure that if he’s gonna keep at it, you might as well play along (for fun, if nothing else).

Spy would initially be a little surprised when you first turned the tables on him, giving an equally flirtatious response with a coy wink when he said something to you. However, you wouldn’t know this, as he was quick to shoot back with a compliment without losing any composure (he's Spy, he's not gonna be entirely phased by something like this. Not visually, at least.). From then on, he’d definitely try to do it more often, calling you pet names (in french, of course), complimenting your beauty whenever he sees you or you meet eyes, or just giving you looks that imply something more. (If you seem so open to it, why not dial up the charm more?)

In return, you tell him how much you love his accent and the sound of his voice, and just how nice you think he looks in his suit. Sometimes you even call him terms of endearment as well, even when you aren't technically "flirting back". (Is this something of an inside joke, or are you beginning to actually feel something for him? He can't really tell. But he'll go along with it regardless.)

Spy knows that you’re probably doing it in a joking way, despite how genuinely charming you are, but he can't help but feel just a bit warmer when you shower him with compliments in response to his own. (It's nice to get attention from someone as great (and important) as you, what can he say.) And, if he grows to like you more than platonically, then perhaps he can use this to get closer to you. It might be a bit more difficult to assure you of how true his affections are, but you are more than worth the effort and time that would take.

Plus, the reaction from those four "grunts" you have as vessels is also very amusing to him. He can feel them glaring at him when you flirt with each other, the weight of their stares settling a tad uncomfortably on him. But the odd feeling of happiness he gets from you returning his gestures, even if it isn't entirely sincere, is enough to ignore it. He also knows that your other vessels wouldn't dare try anything with you there anyway, so if he plays it up a bit more to get more amusing reactions from them, there's no harm in it. For him, anyway.

As for your grunts, "irate" is definitely a good descriptor for how they are. "Incandescent with rage" is also a fitting term.

They already loathed Spy for how he flirted with you, but they assumed that your supposed disinterest would make him quit it. However, all hopes for this were thrown out the window the moment they saw you go along with it. They're nearly shaking from how angry they are, and you honestly think you might've heard Hank growl at him once when you two were close to him. Your compliments towards Spy's voice are a real gut punch to Deimos (that was his thing!!), whereas Sanford and 2BDamned are questioning why you'd bother doing so. (There must be an underlying reason. Do you do this because you're both humans? What is so damn likable about Spy?)

To them, it doesn't even matter that you're joking; that flirting is something you should be doing with them.

(I can also see some of the bolder of your grunts trying to be more openly flirty to garner a similar response, with varying effectiveness. Deimos is great with it (he flirts with you sometimes anyway), while 2B and Sanford are a bit shyer with such things. Hank is another deal entirely.)

I also agree that some of the Mercs would probably get crushes on the Player. You’ve been with them for such a long amount of time, supporting them in their fights, keeping them alive for as long as you can, and cheering them on as you brought their team to victory again and again; they value you a lot, and after getting to know you personally, it is likely that they would come to see you in a more romantic light. Especially the more "open" of them (i.e. Scout, Demo, Soldier, and arguably Sniper), since you'd get to know them first. (Also if you "mained" them in TF2, since they'd have the knowledge that they were already your legitimate favorite out of the bunch. They'd also be the closest to you that way as well.)

It's a development from being starstruck to noticing how red they get when you come too close, and the feeling of butterflies in their stomachs when you compliment their work. They think it's a bit silly at first, but it's not exactly a bad thing. It doesn't get in the way of their work that much, and if they put in a bit of extra effort to try to impress you a little bit, that just benefits the team too. (Although some are far more obvious with their little crushes than others. Scout.)

It also helps that you know pretty much everything about them, and understand how they are. There's no judgement with you or trying to alter how they do their jobs, you can understand their idiosyncrasies and mentalities perfectly and work with them to get the best results. And, more importantly, you truly value them, in a way their previous bosses hadn't. So, they like you. Simple as that.

(Although, obsession is very unlikely, as they're more "normal" than the grunts somehow (at least in this way) and have better views on interpersonal relationships. They're just average eccentric mercenaries that might have kind of a thing for their Player, which would be expected after years of "knowing" you and being supported so selflessly, only to actually meet you and see that you're even kinder than expected.)
