I was watching kid’s songs with my niece and it told her to brush her teeth to make them white and I kinda hated that. Some teeth are just naturally more yellow so if you can’t make them white is there not a point in brushing your teeth? I told her to brush her teeth to make them healthy but now I feel like healthy is such a broad word. Does a kid really know what being healthy does? I feel like I should’ve said like healthy and strong. I know it’s probably not that big of a deal but my grandparents, some of my uncles, and basically older family members neglected their dental health and my parents certainly didn’t help in discontinuing the poor dental health/hygiene in our family so I feel like if my niece was taught why we brush our teeth, why being healthy is important, etc. then it may help her in the future.

Define your idea of a healthy lifestyle first, then schedule the daily activities and timing necessary to achieve it. Here are six suggestions to help you keep fit and active all year.
GO OUTDOORS. Time spent outside positively impacts your physical, mental, and emotional health. Additionally, it encourages imagination and creativity and cuts down on screen time. Plan to spend time outside daily, be mindful of the moment, and appreciate the beauty around you.
GET SOME WATER. You should drink ounces of water every day to be hydrated. This helps you stay hydrated, controls hunger, and improves the appearance of your skin. To lead a healthy lifestyle, you must do this.
BE ADVENTUROUS. Learning a new skill keeps your mind active and keeps outdoor encounters interesting. Try taking up fishing, enrolling in a class for group exercise, or visiting a nearby city. Families and couples may find this to be a gratifying activity.
GET YOUR BODY MOVED. Don't be discouraged by the prospect of a crowded gym or a nightmare-inducing fitness routine. It is enjoyable if you think of fitness as merely moving your body. Take a walk during your lunch break or play in the yard with your children to get your circulation flowing.
EAT YOUR GREEN VEGETABLES. Being active and healthy begins in the kitchen. What you put into your body impacts your physical and emotional health positively or negatively. Only you can decide the ideal dietary balance for you; however, eliminating processed foods and sugar would help everyone.
RELAX AND REFILL. You should work hard and rest even more complex. Every night, try to get eight hours of sleep. This allows your body to repair, lowers stress, enhances brain function, strengthens your immune system, and does many other things for you.
Put these six suggestions for leading a healthy lifestyle into practice daily, and they'll eventually become habits. To not provide your utmost effort is a waste of time. This new year, possess a joyful, healthy lifestyle as a gift.

As a Mental Health Advocate, is it wrong to “Watch and Observe” my children??
I notice everything they do.
My son is struggling and he has a diagnosis of ADHD, and he has a referral to a Children’s Psychiatrist. And my daughter struggles a lot with ADD, anxiety and “people pleasing & perfection”.
I notice the movements that they do. I notice the shakiness in their voice sometimes and other very intricate details….and basically I notice everything….
Does that make me a good mom for being so aware of their mental and physical health? Or does that cross a line or something else??

Protein waffles makes an easy, healthy breakfast for everyone. Protein is important, but especially in the AM for those with anxiety. (You can also freeze and re-toast them). We like meals over here that gives everyone (especially the picky eaters) options. Some ways I do this are smoothie/acai bars, taco/nacho/salad bars, build-your-own skewers, and waffle bars (shown). By giving your kids more choices and control, you are encouraging them to take charge of their health. Everyone wins! 🧇
