Tim Drake is responsible for the majority of Gotham's streams of the song skater boy by Avril Lavigne. This is because he keeps captivating people with his autistic goblin rizz. They play this song while daydreaming about wooing him by bringing the bedraggled rat boy at the skate park a zesti like they're y/n herself. Sometimes they don't even realise that That's Tim Drake Wayne. He's a cute, skrungly Thing™ that you could either fix or make worse depending on your romantic daydreams.

Every time something from HMD comes up I wonder about Dayes and whether Granby was actually friends-friends with him or just cordial comrades by way of being first and second lieutenant on the same dragon. Would they have stayed in contact at all after the first book? Like, nobody ever tells Granby the whole of what happened with Dayes, so Granby going all ride or die for Laurence wouldn’t necessarily make him end the existing friendship, if there was one.

Thinking about how the names of characters are introduced to us in EPIC, especially the gods. Most characters are introduced by either a character or the chorus saying their name.
Athena is introduced by Odysseus calling out her name and Aeolus is introduced by Odysseus speaking his name to address him. Hermes is introduced by Odysseus saying his name as he realises who he is. So all the "friendly"/helpful gods are introduced by Odysseus speaking to them, which automatically makes them a bit more familiar to the audience, more "human" if you will.
But Poseidon is introduced by the chorus (which is an audible representation of his divine power) chanting his name. It's a bold, terrifying introduction which emphasises his power and godhood above all else. And Zeus isnt introduced at all, his name is entirely up to the audience to infer, as if he knows his name precedes him (which it does, but is still arrogant. Especially alongside the whole "pride is a damsel in distress" speech). Both these introductions demonstrate the sheer power of the enemy gods, and a bit of a separation between them and the audience.
I think (correct me if I'm wrong) the only exception so far is Circe, whose name is first spoken by Hermes, a fellow god. It doesn't bring us super close to her, but also she's not present to demonstrate her power in that moment. And it makes sense for Circe to be the exception, because she's the only one who switches from enemy to friend

read your tags on my post and honestly i agree. i think gaia and west would get along so well because i can see her deciding to show off her capabilities to the guy by doing something like "hey wanna watch me Earth Power the hell out of a monster house" and he enthusiastically raises his head up and down and gaia gets to it by doing Just That. it'd be like a new years eve firework show to west i think. and i can definitely see erida and compass being friends who hang out and id imagine it would be super awkward because shes like 8ft tall meaning that she has to look down at him for the whole outing and fearing she might end up being too disrespectful... also i think if they both got casual enough for talks i can see her just casually talking about the most horrid experience she went through and when she looks at him for a response he's like "girl what in the HELL did you just say??". ALSO YEAH I DONT THINK THE TWO WOULD LIKE MYSTERIOSITY ROTOM AT FIRST.. ERIDA MIGHT STEEL HER EMOTIONS WHEN THE THING STARTS GETTING ON HER NERVES (and even glare at it and insert the Fear Of Arceus into it if ever brings up darkrai at any context) BUT GAIA WOULD BE FIGHTING EVERY ATOM IN HER BODY AND MIND AS TO NOT PSYCHIC THAT THING TO OBLIVION.
Erida and compass in particular is funny because so far the only bad thing to happen to him is quite literally The Plot. erida meanwhile was already doomed JUST from the moment she started existing it's crazy
Compass: so what was your father like
Erida: oh he tried to kill me. Twice
Compass:ʲᵉˢᵘˢ ᶠᵘᶜᵏᶦⁿᵍ ᶜʰʳᶦˢᵗ well, w—what was your journey like?
Erida: me and my wife collected the time gears to save the world from being frozen in time
Compass: oh thats not that b—
Erida: and i ceased to exist for a bit
Compass: dude
Erida: [the entire fucking postgame plot with Darkrai]
Compass: DUDE

Superhero AU - The Jedi
Back to the superhero AU because I left it on such a hopelessly sad cliffhanger. This time, we get to see what the Jedi have been up to this whole time, and what their general plan of attack is.
Previous Posts: [X] [X] [X]
—
It doesn't take long for the Jedi to realize something big is going on.
They're not entirely sure what it is exactly (as much as people like to say so they are not, in fact, mind readers), but they do know it involves some rather strange disturbances as well as a very bizarre missing person's case that involves hundreds of individuals from all walks of life.
Usually they wouldn't immediately jump to the conclusion that both of these things are connected (their city is certainly a box of chocolates in terms of odd coincidences) but, seeing as this was brought to Obi-wan's attention from a fairly reliable source, it's safe to say they do start off an investigation with fair certainty that whatever caused the odd fluctuations of power in the city (the orbs had a very distinct force signature behind them) has to do with both the missing people's case, and the major incident that got swept under the rug before they could get to the scene of chaos (Palpatine's men were FAST).
The Jedi who are most involved with the investigation are Obi-wan who has all kinds of connections that give him an advantage (one of them being ex-mobster Dexter Jettster, who's sister-in-law is in hospital and her twin sons both vanished, so he has stakes in this as well), Jedi Shadow and Spymaster-in-Training Quinlan Vos (who's using the criminal underworld to try to figure out who are the shady people that the eyewitnesses saw taking their loved ones away), Mace Windu who is keeping tabs on the military's abnormal activities (he's noticed a pattern of sudden announcements, gatherings, recruitment campaigns and what not, and he's trying to figure out if it has anything to do with current goings on) and Jocasta Nu (who is coordinating the whole investigation since she has access to a lot of information and resources).
Everyone else is either keeping up with their usual daily lives (to not draw too much attention to the fact the Jedi are finding all of this extremely suspicious), or occasionally scouting the city for any signs of trouble (Anakin and Ahsoka like to nose around despite needing to focus on their studies).
Either way, if something odd happens, the Jedi will know...
And something odd DOES happen.
A very extensive "family" of identical young men have recently moved into the city, enrolled in high school, uni, gotten jobs, are doing volunteer work, etc... And all of them seem incredibly friendly towards the Jedi. Unusually so.
It raises a lot of red flags. Especially when there's also a sudden boost in crime and a group of new "heroes" is going about fighting said crime.
Obi-wan is convinced they've found their missing people.
The question is, what is going on with them?
The Jedi can sense how forced the friendliness is. How they very clearly want to be anywhere but where they currently are. But at the same time they can sense the fear behind their actions, as well as the feeling of defeat and resignation practically rolling off of them in waves. Whatever it is that's gotten them in such a bind is clearly not something they can easily fix...
For now all they can do is play along and try to figure out a way to help these people. Before whatever it is that's slowly building up becomes an actual problem. Maybe if they make themselves available to them, show they want to help, these people might open up to them and share their plight?
Only one way to find out!

"No, it doesn't, judging by the sound of it," Callahan nodded, before smiling to Lon and Erika, saying warmly, "But it could always use more Paces in it, I feel."
Even as breakfast continued to wind down and many of the spirits began to break away from the tables to begin their day, the Pace-Burke family remained seated a while longer, enjoying their drinks of choice and some much lighter conversation, the topic gradually shifting towards plans for the day: The Pace brothers were planning on further exploring the mansion and hanging out with some of the graveyard spirits, who they'd met and hit it off with the night before.
"You been teachin' these folks any games, Willy?" Colin asked, at which Wilhelm nodded as he set down his coffee mug, saying, "Oh yeah, I've taught 'em Rings, Crookey, Darts...been teachin' Lon and Erika as well, they've really taken to 'em!"
"Good to hear it!" Colin grinned, as Callahan rubbed his chin, saying, "Well, if anyone wants to join us, you know where we'll be-met those three odd fellows down in the crypt last night, was thinking about playing a little blackjack with 'em!"
"Just watch your wallet around Ezra if you do," Randall chuckled, as Josephine said, "Well, I'd like to spend a little more time getting to know my grandbabies. Is there anything you like to do together? Maybe something we can all have fun doing?"
"We like to watch movies!" Lon proclaimed proudly and excitedly, with Erika brightening a little at this suggestion. "We watch movies, and Papa likes to knit or sew while we do! Sometimes we all play board games while we watch!"
"Oh, that sounds like fun!" Josephine grinned, as Randall looked back down to Erika, who looked back up at him in turn. The question now was what she'd rather do: Play out in the graveyard with Uncle Colin and Uncle Callahan, or watch a movie with Grandma Josephine? Whatever she chose, he would go along with her for, as promised.

i did one too, for funsies uwu
edit: i realized the nap square and the space square contradict each other ksdjfh but what i mean is more along the lines of freedom. best way i can put it is, he's an outdoor cat, but he always comes back home, and that's not a metaphor for sleeping around either. the man is a wanderer, a habitual 'winds up on the other side of the country somehow' type of guy, an adventurer, and someone who likes to help those who cannot help themselves. who needs an army when one undying man could easily make do? oof, painful and true implications there, anyway--
