It's a Wrap!
Pairing: Bucky Barnes x female reader (Ft Alpine and Winter)
Word Count: 1,211
Summary: Getting anything done with two floofy floofs around is never easy...of course they're just so cute but also pains in the butt (in the best way!)
Author's Note: Just love Bucky with his animals so much and this idea popped into my head. There is no particular Holiday or occasion mentioned here so whatever one you want to use is perfect! The dog, Winter, is the one I always use in my stories- he has three legs and Bucky adopted him and of course there is Alpine our fav kitty. The photos in my moodboard are what I imagine they'd look like! Thank you all so much for reading! Much love always! ❤️❤️❤️Divider by the lovely @firefly-graphics thank you Daisy! 🥰
Warnings: Soft and sweet fluff and fun and the cutest animals ever!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Hey mister!”
Bucky gently tugs the bow from Alpine’s claws.
“That’s not for you to play with! You have plenty of toys!”
Bucky turns to Alpine’s toy bin and points with a stern look. “See…too many toys!”
Winter hops over and nudges Bucky’s arm with a cold nose, a large stuffed duck hanging from his mouth.
Bucky scratches behind the dog’s ears. “I know buddy. That’s your favorite duck.”
Winter’s tail thumps loudly against the side of the couch as he cocks his head to the side.
“If I play now I’ll never get this done,” Bucky tells Winter softly.
He then leans closer to the dog and whispers in his ear. “And if Alpine doesn’t quit his shit I’m gonna have to lock him in the bathroom.”
Winter drops his toy and barks loudly, side eyeing the cat.
“I know,” Bucky says in comradery. “But let’s see how we do.”
Winter promptly does his best stretch and then lays down right next to Bucky.
“Ohhhh big stretch,” Bucky says before giving Winter a pat.
The dog’s long, fluffy and white tail thumps a few more times before he settles quietly, the majority of his body pressed against Bucky’s outstretched leg.
Alpine, not wanting to be left out, sashays over and sits right in front of Bucky, looking up at him with big blue expectant eyes.
“Alpine,” Bucky sighs. “You can’t sit there bud. How am I supposed to wrap?”
The cat blinks several times and then lifts his paw to lick it, clearly uncaring.
Bucky scoops up the cat and positions him on his thigh next to Winter.
Winter ears go up and he sniffs Alpine a few times before settling back down. Alpine gently bats at Winter’s nose before he lays on his side and gets comfortable.
“FINALLY!” Bucky huffs. “Now maybe I can get some things wrapped before Mommy gets home.”
At the word “mommy,” both animals perk up.
“She’ll be home soon,” Bucky assures them with soft pets. “But I need to at least get her gift wrapped first!”
Bucky looks between the rolls of wrapping paper. “Which one should I use?”
Neither Winter nor Alpine respond so Bucky makes a commitment on his own. As soon as he starts to unroll the paper Alpine pounces, pawing and poking at it.
“Alpine!” Bucky chides as he lifts him up. “You can’t play with that!”
Alpine meows loudly as his legs swing back at forth and his tail swishes side to side. Bucky turns the cat so they are face to face.
“Listen you. Unless you’re gonna help you have to behave!”
“MEOW!”
“I’ll put you in the bathroom!”
Winter’s head lifts and he huffs.
“I know I won’t but still…” Bucky grumbles.
He takes Alpine and sets him on his shoulder. “Stay there!”
Alpine digs his claws into Bucky’s Henley and sits perched atop his broad shoulder.
Winter rests his head on Bucky’s thigh.
“Ok, here we go again,” Bucky sighs.
He takes your gift and sets it down in the center of the paper and begins to fold it.
Winter’s wet nose immediately pokes at the paper, leaving a wet spot.
“Doggo!” Bucky says sharply. “Watch that honker.”
Winter’s tail wags still and he scoots closer, inspecting everything with his big black nose.
Once Bucky has it wrapped as best he can he looks at the bag of ribbon.
“This one?” he says as he holds up a particularly pretty one.
Alpine immediately swats at it with a clawed paw and Winter tries to give it a small nibble.
“Shit,” Bucky mutters. “You two are no help!”
Bucky secures the bow as best he can then looks over his handiwork.
“I mean…,” he starts as he looks it over. “It’s the thought that counts right?”
Alpine grows bored with the now wrapped gift and starts to bat at the stray hairs that have fallen loose from Bucky’s bun.
Winter licks Bucky’s hand.
“Thanks guys.”
The sound of the lock turning alerts everyone to your arrival and Bucky quickly hides the gift then follows the animals in their rush to greet you.
“Hi doll face,” Bucky says as he takes you in his arms.
Winter shimmies his large body between the two of you until you pet him and Alpine slips between your legs to rub against you.
“Hi guys!” you smile.
“We missed you,” Bucky says.
“I missed you all more.”
You wrap your arms around Bucky’s neck and press your lips to his.
“What have you been up to?” you whisper.
“Nothin’ much,” Bucky answers.
Winter barks.
You raise an eyebrow and slip from Bucky’s grasp. As you approach the living room Winter bounds past you and starts to dance his paws on top of the mess Bucky left.
“Wrapping?” you ask as Bucky slides up behind you and circles his arms around your waist.
“I thought I should get started,” he murmurs against your ear.
“Want some help?” you ask.
“Definitely,” he answers. “Between these two floofs,” and he motions to Alpine and Winter, “I only got one thing wrapped.”
Bucky sits and leans back along the couch, spreading his legs wide and patting between them. You sit in the open space and rest your back to his chest.
As soon as you grab the wrapping paper, Alpine appears out of nowhere and attacks it.
“See what I’ve been dealing with!” Bucky whines even as you feel his body shake with laughter. “A menace!
Winter, as if knowing he was left out, tries to smash his way onto Bucky’s lap.
“TWO MENACES!” Bucky adds in a huff.
You giggle and pick up Alpine, smooshing him to your chest and cooing at him sweetly.
“Have you been driving daddy nuts all afternoon my sweet boy?”
Alpine nuzzles his head under your chin and purrs.
“And what about you,” you say to Winter as you wrap your free arm around his fluffy neck and scratch his head. “Who’s my good boy?”
Winter’s whole-body wiggles in joy and he starts to lick your face.
“Aw Buck. They couldn’t have been that bad!”
Bucky grumbles something inaudible from behind you and it only makes you love on the babies more.
“How about we just have a cuddle party? We can wrap later,” you suggest.
“I love this plan,” Bucky hums. “But first…we need sustenance!”
He stands and then helps you up before walking into the kitchen. You hear the rustle of bags and the banging of cabinets as you prepare the couch with the pillows and blankets.
As soon as you’re seated Winter paws at the spot on the cushion where he usually lays. You give him a small lift to help him up and then watch as Alpine walks along the edge of the couch and jumps down to the pillow below.
Bucky comes back in with his arms full of goodies.
“Look at this cuddle party,” he muses as he sits next to you.
You snuggle into Bucky’s side and Winter snuggles closer to you. Even Alpine curls up close to Bucky, his warm head pressed against his metal arm.
With your snacks at the ready and Lord of the Rings on the screen you settle into the soft warmth and comfort of your little family.

I LOVE THE WAY YOU WRITE HOTCH! ❤️ He’s so soft and I can’t ; -;.
For Christmas requests, can I request the team trying to set up Hotch and reader through either mistletoe or Secret Santa? TY!
hiii thank you so much!! i hope u like it <3 merry christmas and happy holidays! 🫶🎄 | 0.6k of fluff
Unbeknownst to you, the team has been trying to get you and Hotch together for ages.
They’ve seen the way you steal glances at him on the jet, when his head is bent and he’s focused on his paperwork, seen the way he steals glances at you, too. They’ve also seen the two of you grow close, a deliberate yet soft squeeze of the shoulder here, a shared smile there.
They also know that neither of you can tell that the other feels exactly the same. so they’ve decided to take things into their own hands.
“Hey,” Emily grabs your attention, your head lifting to look over at her.
“Yeah?”
“Do you think you could ask Hotch for that file from the Seattle case for me?” She faux sighs, “I’m too focused on this report to leave it right now.”
“Okay,” you nod, pushing up from your desk. “No problem.”
You don’t suspect anything, partially because you’re just a little bit oblivious sometimes, and partially because you figure she’s just trying to get things done to get home quicker on the holidays, and you don’t blame her.
Christmas at the BAU isn’t the most festive one, except for the small tree that Garcia has insisted should be put up every year. Other than that, it’s business as usual.
Or, it should be.
You walk up the few stairs to get to Hotch’s office, knocking on the open door when you get there. Aaron stands from his desk when he sees you, meeting you by the doorframe.
“Hi,” you say, “sorry, Emily asked if I could-”
It’s then that you notice a piece of mistletoe taped sloppily—Derek’s work, probably—to the top of the door. Aaron follows your gaze upwards and notices it, too.
“Oh,” you look back to his face, “I had no idea that was there, I’ll just-”
Hotch catches your wrist as you turn to leave, gently tugging you into his office and closing the door behind the two of you, giving you privacy from the team that had been hoping their plan would work.
“I didn’t know, either,” he says, his fingers still around your wrist, warm and rough, but his touch is soft. “If they’re making you uncomfortable with this, I can talk to them.”
You shake your head, shuffling on your feet, far too aware of his hand on your skin, of his eyes kind and searching. “No, no it’s not that. It’s just- it’s silly, right? Them thinking that we’d, um, kiss.”
“Is it?” He asks, because he’s wanted to kiss you for a long time, and even though he’s afraid, he thinks it’s time you know that. Time the team gets off his ass about it, too.
“Hotch,” your voice has gone quieter, unsure that he means what you think he does, what you want him to mean.
“Aaron,” he corrects gently.
Your chest rises on your intake of breath, Aaron stepping a bit closer to you, your shoes nearly toe to toe.
“You don’t think it’s silly, Aaron?”
“No, I don’t.” His free hand pushes your hair away from your face, fingers staying on your jawline afterwards. “I’ve liked you for a long time, and they know it.”
“Oh, wow,” you shift so that he’s holding your hand rather than your wrist, fingers tangling easily. You think that maybe it’s the holidays that make you braver, the love in the air, “I like you, too.”
It feels so juvenile to say it that way, especially where Hotch—Aaron—is concerned, but it’s all you can muster with his hands on you and his gaze flicking to your mouth.
“I’d rather not do it here, but I do want to kiss you,” he says. “Any dinner plans today?”
“No. Not as of now, at least.”
“Have dinner with me?”
“Okay,” your answer is easy.
And that night, after dinner, when he does kiss you on your porch, Christmas lights illuminating your faces, you’re thankful for the mistletoe.

hey! this is my first time requesting something so i’m not too sure what to ask for !
would love to see some oscar fluff tho 🥹🥹
Note: I'm happy you sent in a request, feel free to always share your ideas! 🫶 also, this was totally not written from personal experience 🙄
Tw: reader accidentally gets hurt
Dating an athlete meant that your holidays would often include adventurous plans like hikes and trails. For this afternoon, Oscar wanted to check out a hike near the beach where you could walk along the coastline.
"You don't have to go if you don't want, love", Oscar assured you as you put on your sports bra, "I want to, it's supposed to be very beautiful and it's a nice change of scenery from the pool", you smiled, getting your trainers, "these should be okay, right? I only have sandals and flip-flops and those are definitely not appropriate footwear", you reasoned, "yes, I don't think it will be slippery, more dusty I think", your boyfriend offered, grabbing his own trainers so he too could lace them and you could get going.
It started quite easily, the steps carved into the rocks from erosion clear and well limited, making you follow Oscar quite easy, "wow, look how blue the sea is!", he gasped as you reached a balcony like area looking out the coast line, waves hitting the rocks and turning into white foam.
"It says here the water line can go up and cover all of those rocks completely", you read on the wooden and metal informative plaque, pointing with your fingers, "Osc!", you squealed when you noticed he was taking a photo of you, "at least warn me first so I can sort myself out!".
"You look beautiful, love", he smiled, shoving his phone back in his pocket and circling his arms around your waist.
"I am sweaty and shiny from the suncream and my hair is all tangled from the wind", you pouted as you tamed down the little hairs that never seemed to lay flat unless they had a lot of product on them.
"You look lovely, believe me", he stole a quick kiss, "let's continue?", he urged, pulling you with him.
The trail started to shrink as the flat ground approached the line where the rock stopped and a couple of feet wrong and you'd be down in the rocky wall in no time, "can you hold my hand, please?", you murmured to Oscar, stretching your hand out while the other one was already grasping the safety steel railing chord, "here, I won't let go, I promise", your boyfriend assured as he laced your hand in his.
"We climbed all of this, so now we have to go down, be careful, okay?", he warned after you had taken a rest break to admire the view.
"It's fine, I'll be careful", you added, getting up and following him down. You didn't see one of the steps, so you went right over it, not measuring the distance properly and falling on your butt.
At the yelp you let out, Oscar was quick to turn around and help you, "are you okay, Y/N?", he asked, checking over any injuries, noticing a little cut on your thigh and a graze on your elbow.
"Just bumps and scratches - and a sore butt", you pouted, accepting his hand to be pulled up to a standing position, "can you walk all the way back or fo you want me to carry you?", he wondered, "I'm fine to walk", you smiled, kissing his cheek and carrying on.
As soon as you arrived back at the hotel, Oscar stopped by the reception to ask for a first aid kit, taking it with you to the room so he could help.
"I'm sorry it stings, love", he pouted, kissing your thigh to distract you as he made sure the wound was clean and disinfected, "but it's looking good", he kissed your thigh one last time before moving up to your arm, seeing you had already cleaned it, "I can't put the protective band-aid", you explained, having him help you with it too.
"We can stay here for a bit before you go to lunch, how does that sound?", he suggested as he pulled you to cuddle him, "that sounds good", you kissed his lips before making yourself comfy, "my clumsy girl", he kissed the top of your head.
(Thank you for sending this in ✨️)

Classic Fall Fun
Tumblr media
my mind is empty. i bought a halloween squishmallow and decorative pillows for fall. so i wrote a blurb about it. enjoy!
"Baby...What...?"
"I can explain!" you blurted, rushing over to your fiance.
"I hope you can," Harry murmured as he picked up a throw pillow from the couch. "I can hardly see the sofa under all these."
"There was a sale," you began. "I was only going to the craft store for puzzle glue because I finished my puzzle this morning and I wanted to hang it up, but then I saw the Fall and Halloween section and..."
"And you turned our living room into Halloweentown," Harry said.
"You remembered!" you said, trying to shift the subject off all the Fall decor that now lived in your home.
You really didn't mean to buy all the decorations—the throw pillows, the blanket with pumpkins and candy corns and warm toned leaves on it, the welcome mat that said, Hocus Pocus!, and all the little decorations that were perfectly arranged on the kitchen counter. You'd been proud of how perfect your home looked, how everything tied together so nicely. Now that Harry was here, though, you worried you'd overdone it. Or worse, he'd make you take it all back.
"Course I remember," Harry said. "You've only made me watch it every year since we've been together."
"I—I know it's a lot," you said, trying to hide a stuffed vampire holding a little pumpkin spiced latte behind you and out of his eyesight. "But you know I love decorating, I mean I did the whole house when we moved in—very tastefully, I might add—and I love the holidays an—and themes, and—You're laughing at me."
Harry shook his head, chuckling softly. He took your face in his hands and kissed your forehead. That was definitely not the reaction you were expecting. Some light teasing? Sure. Insisting you take at least some of it back? Probably. But you mentally crossed your fingers that you could keep it all. Right down to the mummy mugs and ghost candle holders.
"I've been waiting for this day, if I'm honest. I'm surprised it didn't come sooner. Starbucks changed their menu two weeks ago."
Blushing, you held Harry's hand as it rested on your cheek. "Do you hate it? If you hate it, I can scale it back."
"I love it," he said. "And I love you."
He led you to the couch where he took the same stuffed vampire you tried to hide and held it against his stomach. You took the blanket that rested on top of the couch and draped it over yourself and Harry, snuggling up close to his side. You kissed his cheek a couple times, stomach flipping when you felt his grin beneath your lips.
"No Halloween movies yet, because it's not October, but..."
"Way ahead of you," Harry said, reaching for the remote and firing up Netflix on the TV.
"I knew you liked the show as much as I do," you said with a grin.
"You realize it's actually quite hot out, right?" he said, but pulled you closer anyway as he made himself more comfortable.
You shushed him as the theme song played. You'd thought of that already, and the air conditioning was already pumping through the vents to make it the perfect temperature for hiding under the fluffy blanket. And drink warm drinks. And cuddle in bed with the twinkly lights you put up earlier while listening to music.
"I know it's silly. I know it's...a little over the top, but—"
"Hey, I think it's cute how excited you get over the holidays," he said. "And, just because I know how much you love Autumn, so I got you something."
"Autumn," you repeated, imitating his accent. "What did you get?"
"An appropriately themed seasonal puzzle that we can complete together."
Your eyes lit up immediately. "You bought us a puzzle?"
Harry kissed you repeatedly, his fingers holding your chin lovingly. "I happen to like this season too, you know. Not as much as you, but I do. And puzzles. And you. Easy math."
You sighed and rested against his chest, kissing him over the soft material of his shirt a few times. Harry said it was fine, but you could admit that your love for this particular season was a little intense. But you loved putting a room together, making it feel warm and inviting and festive. And each item you put in your cart was part of a vision you had, and once you had said vision, you had to make it come to life. It was how you ended up putting all the rooms together in the house when you and Harry moved in. He had input of course, but he knew you had a knack for decorating and trusted your judgement.
And you couldn't help but think of the future too. Yours and Harry's. You wanted to do this for your kids, to raise them in a home that was cheery and fun. It was something neither you nor Harry had yourselves growing up, so you wanted something new. New traditions that you could start together.
You couldn't wait to share a lifetime of feeling cozy and cuddling festive pillows with Harry. You couldn't wait to watch movies and do puzzles and make pumpkin flavored baked goods with him for the rest of your life, or sew costumes for your kids because what they wanted couldn't be found at the party store. You wanted all of it, and you wanted it with him.
"I really do love this show, you know. I'd never heard of it, and now I can quote it," Harry mumbled. His eyes were trained on the show playing in front of him while his fingers traced patterns on your arm idly. Then, he looked down at you and smiled. "Our first real tradition, don't you think?"
Your heart squeezed with delight. You knew Harry loved you, that was never a doubt in your mind. But hearing him say that, knowing that he had lofty visions of the future too, made you hold him just a little bit tighter.

Summary: Tension was at an all time high between you, the very capable and well established police officer, and the arrogant, smug lawyer who was always in your way. That was, until he actually needed you for a favour, out of the precinct, and on his office.
It was a breezy day at police headquarters for the team. The holidays were over, meaning that crime rate was low, and mainly because today was an admin day for you; your least favorite. Stacks on top of stacks of finishing reports, filing said reports, making sure that it is impeccable shape. The last time you accidentally filed a case on August 21 instead of August 20, the captain gave it to you for days.
****
That was years ago, during your rookie days. Now being a training officer, things were more fun. It was also easy to pick on the rookies that were assigned to you, feeling partly vindicated for what you had to experience during your own early days. However, without sounding too cliche, it also allowed them to become the best cops they could be, and it was fun to become friends with them, have them become your fellow colleagues and knowing that if you were in any high risk situation, they would have the training and rationality to have your back and do what is necessary.
***
Your eyes boggled as you sat at your desk, immediately noticing the way your fellow police officer, and best friend, Felix avoided eye contact when chucking the thick mound of paper onto the edge of your desk. The Sergeant was already out and about, checking and maintaining his authority by checking who was working and who was not. Sergeant Bang was not surprised to see you doing other things than what you were supposed to be doing; it was very obvious when you were staring at the large analog clock that was plastered on the wall, facing the opposite direction of your desk.
“How’s the paperwork going?”
“Pff,” you huffed, falling face first into the humongous pile, “Sergeant Bang, it’s a lot but I’ll get it done.”
“Good work y/n, I need at least half done by the end of the day, you need to take Hyunjin out on the street today, and you need to follow up on a house disturbance that occurred yesterday.”
“Yes sir.”
Your designated rookie, Hyunjin, was walking over to your desk, a large smile greeting his face as he took his seat next to you.
“Good morning Y/n, how are you today?”
“Can you not see the stack here? Get to work rookie, we need half of this done at midday so we can head back to that house we visited yesterday.”
“Got it,” Hyunjin replied, still smiling as he enthusiastically grabbed a quarter and clicked his pen, getting straight to it. You were lucky this year, taking on one of the rookies that was keen to listen, but also didn’t take it to heart when you criticized or made jokes. Most rookies understood that it was part of the process to earn your extra stripes.
Midday could not come fast enough. You were drowning in paperwork, and a coffee was definitely something you needed if your brain was not going to shut down. A large yawn fell from your lips as you rose from your chair, sluggishly making your way to the break room. The coffee pot had just been boiled, thank god, simply needing to just pour it in. Your arms moved slowly, sluggish movements following before a single drop touched your lips. Oh the feeling of sweet relief as the warm liquid ran down your throat, giving you enough energy to get back to your desk and into the swing of paperwork.
The pile descended bit by bit, but when the clock struck midday, a jolt of electricity sparked through your body as you nudged Hyunjin to get the tactical gear and prepare the shop. Felix was standing next to you, waiting for his own rookie to complete the same action.
“How is Hyunjin going?”
“Yeah good, kinda felt bad that he got stuck with my paperwork.”
A smirk came to Felix’s face, a playful punch coming into contact with your shoulder after.
“You made him do most of your own admin work? Damn, your harsh T.O y/l/n.”
A giggle came after Felix’s gentle criticism, “work hard play hard right? Got much on in the afternoon?”
“Not really, but we are only doing street patrol for a couple of hours today. Mr. Douchebag is coming in because I booked one of his clients yesterday.”
Fuck. When Felix said Mr. Douchebag, you knew exactly who he was talking about. Seo Changbin, the most scumbag defense attorney's known to mankind. Acted like he owned the place whenever he came into the precinct, treated sargents, captains, and police officers with little to zero respect. It’s people like him in the legal system that you simply did not want to make time for.
“For fucks sake,” you mumbled, “when is here not the fucking here?”
“Unfortunately,” Felix paused, covering his mouth to prevent anyone from hearing you gossip on the job, “and I hate to give him credit, but he somehow manages to represent every person in here, and most of them seem to get off. He’s trying to get me for unlawful captivity on the drug dealer we busted yesterday.”
“Pfft,” you scoffed, “of course he is. He-,”
Before you could continue, a sudden bubble of anger traveled across your fibers as you saw him walk into the precinct. Suited up, completely, that fucking brown leather briefcase he always carried. God. Even the way he held his chin up, facial expression showing nothing but arrogance because he knew that as soon as he saw you or Felix, he was going to be relentless.
“God he’s such a douchebag.”
“Listen Y/n, I actually hate him, you on the other hand,” Felix paused, giving you an unimpressed look, “Try not to get your panties in a twist.”
“Dude,” you hit him, face heating up from his rather honest remark.
The two of you had a history. From the multiple times he got his clients to remain silent, released on bail when they should not have been. Having to testify as the officer on scene and he would do everything in his power to tear you down, make you look incompetent. Changbin was a menace, and if it was anybody else you would admire how smart and hard working someone like that was. But to do that, let’s just say you would rather get hit by a bus like Regina George. He always, for some reason that baffled you to try and work out, was always obsessed with proving you wrong. Felix’s ‘wrongdoings’ were ones he liked to point out too, but yours were tenfold. It’s like he thought that you should be fired not everytime you apparently did something against the law, but more specifically when it was something he didn’t like. Something that went against his own personal morals, and that’s what irritated you the most. The pompous lawyer only did what aligned with his morals and values, which to any normal person, would be the opposite of most. Every word that came out of his mouth gave you a headache.
But god, was he hot. There was always a tension, the strength of it based on how fiery the disagreements became,  that filled the room whenever a conversation (if you were putting your interactions nicely) was sparked between the two of you. It was easy for all the officers to see, and the amount of shit you copped for it was an understatement. Especially since you worked in a job where everyone’s observational skills were of high standard. Nonetheless, you would never let anything get in the way of your job, and that meant never mixing business with pleasure. I mean, not that you wanted to, because as soon as he opened his mouth, any feasible positive thought of attraction or whatever it was that made you feel drawn for him for a second flew out the window.
It didn’t take long for him to identify the two of you, a sly smile covering his lips as he strode over, expensive dress shoes, ones that he bought by most likely overcharging his clients ten fold to support his wannabe lavish lifestyle, clicked across the concrete floor and as soon as he was standing in front of you, his eyes gazed down then slowly back up, making sure to up his sleaziness by checking you out. If punching someone in the face wasn’t illegal, Seo Changbin would be knocked out cold.
“Officers.”
The two of you refused to look in the eye, the pompous lawyer very much undeserving of your respect, let alone your attention. He chuckled when he noticed, readjusting his suit in an attempt to gain control over whatever this interaction was.
“Long time no see,” you replied with the fakest smile, gritting your teeth in resistance.
“How fortunate,” he fake pouted, completely matching your energy, “I’m not here for you today, I’m here for him.”
Felix crossed his arms and stood strong to keep his high standard of authority with Changbin.
“My client hasn’t said a word in 48 hours, so you need to let him go.”
Your best friend rolled his eyes as he said nothing, allowing him to walk passed as headed over to the investigation room. You could tell straight away that Felix was flat, another defeat he had experienced at the hands of this ruthless, douchebag, absolutely cock of a lawyer. It got under your skin even more each time. Nonetheless, maintaining a high standard of professionalism meant having the communication skills required to result in efficient or necessary outcomes. You placed a hand on Felix’s gripped wrist, opening it up and hoping he would take a deep breath.
“Felix come on,” you whispered, easily able to feel the lawyer's eyes burning into the side of your head, “we’ll get him next time.”
He shrugged you off, heading back to his desk and engrossing himself in paperwork. You knew not to take it personally, seeing as his frustration wasn’t with you, but rather with how Changbin always seemed to have the upper hand on the two of you.
**
Hyunjin was taking an awfully long time, especially since Changbin has already left the interrogation room, making a v line straight for you again. His stance was still cocky as hell, hanging up his phone call with the perfect timing so he could stand right in your face. His hair was parted on the side, bangs slicked back, exposing his forehead. His shoulders were wider than usual, arms bulging out of the jacket as his smirk sent a shiver down your spine. Fuck.
You were lying if you said that he wasn’t attractive, objectively speaking of course. He always had some kind of smoothness about him, even if it was arrogant, on some days, maybe when you were feeling vulnerable or frustrated, he was always something to look at. Wearing clothes that were way too tight was clearly a staple, but it’s not like you were complaining. If anything, the cocky persona, sometimes, was a little arousing. But then as soon as he opened his mouth, all of that perceived charisma and attraction disappeared.
“God it feels good getting them out unscathed.”
“Find somewhere else to gloat Changbin,” you scoffed, eyes fixated in the way his tie arched across his chest, “I’m not the person who made the arrest.”
“Oh I know, it makes me sad,” he fake pouted once more, “I kind of wish you were the arresting officer, could have spent more time working together.”
There was a slight pang in your chest at his words. You knew that he was joking, his sarcasm was impossible to not notice. He took a step even closer, now in your personal space. He raked another peek up and down, another god evil smirk plastering his lips. His look definitely did not go unnoticed. You took no pleasure in cowering away from him, standing strong and face tough because you knew better than to give him any benefit of the doubt that he would turn around and treat you with any kind of decency.
“Yeah well I’m not and you should know better than to interact with me if there aren’t any pressing cases or charges that I am involved in.”
“Yeah I know, which is why I am talking to you.”
Your eyebrows furrowed, mind scrambling as you had quite literally no idea what on earth he could be talking about. There were no open cases of yours right now, and even if they were, it had been passed onto detectives as the severity of the cases were too much for an officer.
“Yeah, you know your T.O? How he was arrested for drug trafficking in front of the whole office last month? Yeah, well it turns out he asked me to defend him.”
The case sent you into a frenzy. Your T.O was the backbone on how you became the cop you were today. They got you through the trials and tribulations. Seeing a lot of gruesome things on the job was hard to conceptualize at first, but they were the first to comfort and assure you that things would be okay. When it was announced, 3 days before public knowledge, it broke your heart. Made you question everything that you thought you knew about policing. Therefore, for Changbin to bring up not only the arrest, but the fact that he was defending him was a low blow, even for him.
“Are you fucking serious?”
“Of course. Earning the cop money is fucking great.”
You could feel the heat under the uniform rising rapidly, the mixture of stress at the mention of the anxiety induced name was not a good combination when standing in front of a person you already wanted to punch in the face solely for their existence.
“You shouldn’t be defending them.”
Changbin’s expression changed, the cocky arrogant facade of Changbin to one more serious, like he was offended by what you said. Here you go, accidentally offending his so-called morals and beliefs. Always more important to him than the actual law.
“And what gives you the right to tell me who I can and can’t defend?”
You rolled your eyes at his question. “Look, I know you like to defend the scum, but this is the lowest.”
“That’s why I did it. Cops are just the worst, and defending an ex cop is great to me, but let’s not get brash and cut straight to the chase. I need you for the case.”
The look on your face was priceless. The shock was real, and you were too busy processing his words to realize his hardness dropped, the arrogance disappearing when he saw the hurt pouring from your eyes. The atmosphere changed, and it was more of one where Changbin, shocking himself, felt guilt toward you.
“Like hell I’m defending that piece of shi-”
“Wait,” he interrupted, another expression, this one different, more like concern as he heard the slight strain of hurt in your vocals, “I feel bad asking, but they want you as a character witness.”
Your frustration was reaching a new point, boiling point coming up much sooner than you would have liked. A tear threatened to spill from your eyes as you quickly flicked it away, not wanting the pompous lawyer to see any form of vulnerability, to know he beat you. Every conversation with Changbin was a competition; sometimes you won, sometimes you lost. He placed a hand on your shoulder, wanting to comfort you in a way that wasn’t too personal and suspicious in a public place. However, for you this was personal, and anyone with half a brain cell knew that this would strike a very sensitive cord within you. The tension was thick, and it was a relief that you could see your rookie coming back over to break up whatever this moment was.
“Here,” Changbin took out his business card, “it has my phone number on it. If you agree to do it, we will have to have a meeting to go over things. You don’t have to, but they would greatly appreciate it.”
You said nothing, a light smile across your face as you let yourself fall into the dream that was Changbin’s gaze. You weren’t sure if it was the sudden calming, friendly demeanor and lack of goblin behavior that you didn't know he was capable of expressing, or the idea that the buttons on his shirt were getting tighter and tighter, the spaces between them getting bigger the longer he stood there. It was hard to form a word the more time you spent with him.
Hyunjin was back, finished loading the shop before you could continue your shit talking conversation. You coughed to adjust yourself, not wanting for Changbin or your rookie to see that he was under your skin.
“All ready boot?”
He nodded, a friendly smile as he followed you, grin disappearing as he noticed your vulnerable demeanor. Hyunjin stepped in front of you, feeling the need to protect you from him, and to close the already small space that the two of you were sharing. You pushed him aside, a weak smile on your lips as Changbin waited for you to answer.
“Let me think about it.”
He nodded, allowing you to leave and head to the car with Hyunjin. As you got into the passenger's seat your mind continued to race with two things. Partly your T.O, but mainly Changbin.
It was the first time that you had seen an almost human side to him. You weren’t sure what to call it, but it was encasing your mind, taking over all conscious parts of your brain. It was almost impossible to believe that a lawyer, especially a defense lawyer, actually felt bad for asking someone to help him with a case.
“Are you okay?”
Hyunjin snapped you out of deep thought, looking at you while driving to analyze your facial expressions.
“Eyes on the road boot, and yes I’m fine.”
A silence fell over the car, the lack of criminal activity responsible for that.
“Is something going on between you and the lawyer?”
You gave him a look of disgust, finding this a completely inappropriate question to ask a superior officer. Even though it wasn’t a completely ridiculous question to ask, it was obvious to a third party that there was something better. But you knew better than to have your rookie have the upper hand on you, especially when it came to your personal life.
“Why are you running your mouth, boot? You know who he is right?”
“Yes, I,” Hyunjin hesitated, worried that you were upset with him, “I just wanted to make sure you were okay.”
“I’m fine,” you mumbled, adjusting yourself in the rather large seat. When it came to your personal life, especially when it wasn’t great it was easier to be this way. Cold, brash. It also seemed to be the way that Hyunjin learnt how to do things efficiently and easily.
“I’m sorry Y/n, I know I’m overstepping, but I saw the way he looked at you when your appearance changed. Like he really cared for you.”
“Hyunjin I swear to god,” you yelled, immediately getting defensive at his implication. Your tone was harsh, a prompt guilt coming over you as you continued to speak, correcting the tone of what and how you said it.
“He didn’t do anything that bad, and there’s nothing going on in between us.”
You paused again, looking around with the means of refusing any possible contact when talking about this sensitive subject.
“He asked me to testify in a case about my T.O.”
“The one that got arrested?”
“Yeah,” you mumbled, feeling small even talking about it, “wants me to be a character witness for him.”
“That’s so rough, I’m really sorry.”
“Eh it’s not your fault. Enough about me, let’s focus on the road.”
The afternoon of patrol was easy, but your mind floated every once in a while to everything that surrounded Changbin. Hyunjin’s perception, Changbin’s own humane side coming out to comfort you, if you could even call it that. Whatever it was, it was something that you could not get out of your mind. On the contrary, you would never let something as miniscule as a mee defense lawyer get in the way of your high quality police work.
***
Patrol was over too soon, greeted by a smile from Felix once more as you saw him getting out of his shop and walking over to you.
“How was patrol?”
He said nothing, directing his hand to his rookie with one of the biggest drug dealers in the area. Your jaw dropped when you saw this large 6’5 300 pound man in cuffs.
“How on earth did you manage that?”
“He was sleeping,” Felix smirked, “had no idea we were coming. God some criminals are so dumb.”
“Nice work boot,” you nodded, helping him carry the man to be processed.
The processing was the easiest part. Finger prints, photos, and paperwork assessing the individual. Making sure they had no weapons on them; catching the cops was the hardest part. Processing and putting them in a holding cell was the most relaxing part of the job. Even the paperwork was more stressful.
The guy was being put in his cell, but it wasn't a rude surprise when you saw the man who was on your mind all day show up. He was bolting straight for the cops holding the perp, an agenda in his eyes as your irritation rose, knowing exactly what he was going to do.
“Woah Changbin,” you stepped in, standing between the struggling perp and Changbin, “what are you doing?”
“You need to let go of him, he is being unlawfully detained.”
“And how would you know that?”
“Because my client is under the influence, he does not understand his rights and you cannot keep him.”
Your eyebrows furrowed at his statement. He was dead serious, and there was no way you would stop this guy from being detained. He was well known for a while, and you weren’t going to let Changbin’s antics get in the way of this.
“This man is not showing any substances in his system, he needs to be processed.”
“And like I just said, he doesn’t understand his rights so uncuff him and let him go.”
“How would you know that?”
“Because I was across the street after visiting another client and I saw them put him in the car. He barely said yes when asked if he understood.”
“Okay but he said yes so what’s the problem?”
“Do I have to repeat myself? You’re also using unlawful force on my client.”
“Unlawful force?” you scoffed, “the guy is over 300 pounds.”
The responses were back and forth, way too quickly to react and way too difficult for someone to step in and diffuse the situation. Tempers were running high, and the longer the argument went on, the louder your voices became. Any leniency that you felt prior towards the pompous lawyer was diminished in an instant. Another officer stepped in, attempting to continue to put this man in the holding cell.
“It doesn’t matter, you need to let him out or I will report this as unlawful and you will lose your job immediately.”
“Are you serious? I-”
“What is this ruckus?”
The two of your heads snapped simultaneously once you heard the Sargeants voice.
“We are trying to detain a perp but ‘Mr. fancy pants’ here is obstructing us from doing so.”
“With all do respect sir this is an unlawful arrest I-”
Sargent Bang took another step forward, putting a hand in front to stop Changbin from talking. Due to the significant height difference, the lawyer backed down, clearly intimidated by Chan's demeanor.
“Mr. Seo, do I come to your office and tell you how to argue in court?”
“No,” he replied, an obvious defeat in his tone, “I don’t.”
“Then you need to get the hell out of my officer's face and you can make a claim in my office.”
The lawyer nodded, no words needed to be said as he followed the Sergeant upstairs and you lost your view of him. The beads of sweat were scattered across Felix’s forehead, a huge sigh of relief as he swiped a hand across, happy to have got him in the cell.
“Nice arrest,” you smirked.
“Yeah. Thanks for that.” He smiled back. But you knew better. There was a second look in his eyes, one that had an underlying meaning, another implication if you will, “I wouldn’t have been able to complete it if it wasn’t for you practically barking at him.”
You laughed, hard at his statement.
“That’s not true, and I feel like you need to spit out what you’re thinking.”
A sarcastic look of shock appeared on Felix’s face.
“Me?” he questioned, placing a hand on his chest in surprise shock, “when do I have something ever to say?”
“Spit it out.”
“Fine,” he chuckled, “you held your own, don't get me wrong. It’s just, I can’t help but feel like there’s some tension between you.”
“Tension?”
At first you were confused. Obviously there was tension, the two of you were yelling at each other for five minutes. You were pissed. How dare he try to embarass you in front of your fellow officers. Accuse you of malpractice. You would never do the same in front of his colleagues. It wasn't until you realized what the smolder behind his lips really meant, and it shook you to your core.
“Are you fucking serious?”
“What,” Felix shrugged, mumbling under his breath, “it’s not the first time I’ve noticed it.”
You shook your head, the thought sending you into a head spin. He couldn’t be right. You repulsed the man, despised him on every level.
Why was your head going straight to this morning, and the interaction before that, and the interaction before that. You had to walk away, space out in your office chair and involuntarily re-analyse every single conversation you had with this damn lawyer. God it was frustrating. Why was he playing so much in your mind? A man of such vulgar and despicable actions was clouding your judgment. It was impossible to do paperwork, concentrate on anything anyone had said. The thought of him, his face, hair, blazer jacket, shirt. That fucking white shirt. Your memory automatically scrolls to that one time the top button was undone. The way his jawline clenched when he took serious phone calls in the precinct. The way he was able to swoon other police officers into getting the information he needed. There was no reason for this, but it was becoming significant that all it took for you to spiral about the pompous lawyer was a gentle nudge in the direction from Felix.
“Hey.”
The voice, the last, yet first, person you actually wanted to even fix your eyes on was talking to you right now. This had to be a joke. It almost made you chuckle at the way he was standing over you at your desk; he probably loved it. Doing anything and everything he could to bring the worst out of you. And if he wasn’t going to apologize right now, he was going to do exactly that. His hand crept into your vision, veiny dorsal hands as his frame got closer and closer, hoping that you would acknowledge his presence, and not the other way round. You could see the look of Felix pretending to gasp at the lack of space between your bodies from the corner of your eye, leaving you even more reluctant to one, fuel your best friend and any other officers point, and two, actually converse with him.
“What do you want, Changbin?”
Your tone sounded very unenthusiastic, mouth, or throat, not having the energy to entertain the nonsense that was about to spew out of his mouth.
“I need an answer about testifying, for the other trial.”
“When do you need the answer?”
“Today at the end of shift.”
“Well then you’ll get my answer then.”
He moved away, running a frustrated hand through his hair at your stubbornness and unwillingness to cooperate.
“Can’t you just give me an answer now?”
“Hmm,” you stood up, clasping your finger upon your chin, looking ‘very’ deep in thought, after the way he just treated you, attempting to embarrass you, it wasn’t really in your mind to treat him with any care, “I just don’t feel like giving you an answer right now.”
“What the fuck is your problem?”
“My problem?” you raised your voice, smacking your hand down on the desk, causing the surrounding officers and personnel to stare straight on.
“What the fuck is my problem,” you took a step closer, aiming to get into the lawyers face, “You have the problem, not me.”
The bickering was at an all time high today. This was normal. Changbin used to find at least one officer to argue with, but the intensity of your heated discussions with him were always ten fold in comparison. Voices were always raised to a peak, fingers gripped in fists, it was practically a show for the precinct, and the officers looked every time; sometimes they were sad because the only thing missing was their popcorn.
The tension in this moment was high, but nothing you didn’t experience every single time this douchebag flashed his face in your place of work. Your eyes widened when you saw Sargent Bang standing behind Changbin from a distance, teeth gritted to end the conversation now, or there would be consequences for your actions. You gripped Changbin’s arm, dragging him around the corner, in front of the low-level weaponry kit room. The only people that walked past that part of the precinct in the middle of the day were police chiefs, and their visit was once a month; today was not that day.
“This is unlawful force on a civilian-”
“Shut up,” you interrupted, whispering as you finally let him go once you were out of frame from the others, “I don't want to make more of a scene and you are not going to be the reason I get fired.”
He scoffed at your remark, finding a sarcastic humor in it. He adjusted his suit jacket once more, patting down his suit and making sure he looked perfect as always. A single strand was out of place across his forehead, and you couldn’t lie, it was pretty adorable. Seeing him out of place in the slightest was like goosebumps on your skin.
“Well it wouldn’t be a problem if you just answered my question.”
The shrug he gave made you want to kick him in the knees. Hands on your hips, you stood there, waiting for him to actually pay attention to what you had to say.
“Look,” he whispered, facial expression of friendlessness back, “I know this must be hard for you.”
He paused, wanting to sense your reaction. Your muscles related to posture softened, eyes avoiding his gaze, yet feeling the need to guard yourself suddenly unnecessary. Conversing with Changbin was like having a concussion, sometimes painful, sometimes blissful, but you couldn’t lie and stay in denial that there was meaning behind this. A gravitational pull that rushed your towards him, and the gentle moments where showed his non-demonic angle was poking out and taunting you made the force greater each time. The sprinkles of generosity he showcased were something that you ate up everytime, and you hated it.
“It’s not that I don’t want to testify, because knowing you, I will be subpoenaed into doing it anyway.”
“No,” he interrupted himself with a laugh, “wait yeah actually I probably would.”
“Yeah that would piss me off, but I understand you would be doing your job. I guess I am somewhat appreciative that you gave me a heads up on it.”
He nodded, taking your mumbled graciousness as a win.
“What do you need me to do?”
He said nothing at first, reaching into his pocket and pulling out the small card with his business, name, phone number and address to said business on it.
“Are you busy tonight after work?”
You followed through, fingers accidentally brushing fingertips with him when accepting the card. The two of you ignored the pull acting up once more. For some reason it felt better to not point it out. You shook your head in response, a small smile filling his lips as he was happy that he didn’t have to fight to get an answer he wanted.
“Great, swing past when you’re done here and we can move forward in your portion of the case.”
No reply was needed as he walked in a separate direction from yours, brain spinning once more as you sat down at your desk. It didn’t take long for your best friend to creep up on you and your rookie’s shared desk. An unwipeable smirk plastered his face as the two of them planned to gang up on you. Unfortunately for them, their plan was spotted from a mile away.
“I don’t want to hear it,” you smoldered, raising a hand to both of their faces in an attempt to silence them.
“I’m not saying anything,” Felix fanned himself as he spoke, “but the tension is hot hot hot.”
“Yeah I could feel it from-”
“Hyunjin, if you say one more word that contributes to this conversation I will write you up. Don’t forget I do daily evaluations on you.”
Hyunjin shrank back into his seat, a small ‘yes ma'am’ before he was back to focusing on his paperwork.
“He’s so into you it’s crazy.”
A small energy of satisfaction sparked through your body at his words. It had to be a joke. Why was a small part of you excited if that was the case?
“He’s not into me,” you brushed off, a smile threatening to spill across your face, “I have to testify as a character witness in the trial for my T.O”
“He’s representing them?”
“A check is a check, and I hate to admit it, but Changbin is one of the best criminal defense lawyers in this country.”
You got up, checking your watch and realizing that there wasn’t long until you had to head over. Yes it was a bit early, but what was the harm in going home, showering, fixing your hair, putting on some makeup and getting out of uniform?
“Hey,” Felix yelled, grabbing you by the arm to stop you from leaving for the day, “where are you going?”
“I’m going to Changbin’s office to get this over and done with. Don’t say anything, I’m just going to prepare for court and that’s it.”
“Mhm,” he nodded, not knowing it was possible for an action to be so sarcastic, “I’m sure it is.”
A frustrated scoff left your lips as you continued to go to the door. Felix was wrong, and you were determined to prove that his implications were false and just simply not the case at all. But not even you could convince yourself that Felix is wrong. Part of you didnt want him to be wrong, but the other part of you just wanted this to be in your past, and getting over and done with seemed like the first step in doing so.
“Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do!”
“That isn’t much!”
**
You took a deep breath as your car parked. One more look at your appearance in the rearview mirror and you were good to go. You kept your outfit simple, jeans and a thin white long sleeve shirt with a small black leather jacket to accompany and counter the recent cold weather. Your hair was down, natural. The intention behind it was that it was a change. A calming nature and contrast to what he usually saw when at the precinct. The normal was hair slicked back in a bun as it was protocol to make sure all hair was out of your face, definitely not wanting your hair to obstruct any view while in pursuit.
The door was large, revolving, leaving you almost caught in between. The area was spacious, impressive, and looked like a big firm. You knew the other lawyers there, but not well enough to know by name. None of them were as much of a hassle as Changbin was. The guy at the reception looked concentrated yet approachable, giving you no trouble as his attention turned to you once your approach at the desk was certain.
“Hi, how are you today?”
“I’m great thanks,” you smiled, a sudden streak of nerves enticing your body, “I’m here for an appointment with Mr. Seo.”
It took a few clicks on his computer before he realized who you were.
“Ah, you must be officer Y/l/n. You really do a number on lawyer Seo hey?”
Your eyebrows furrowed in a polite way, “I do?”
“Every time he comes back from the station, and he’s spoken to you, it’s all he talks about.”
“And I’m going to fire you for saying false information like that.”
Your head snapped at his voice, smooth as honey, and fake, when talking to the receptionist. He shrugged, chuckling because he knew that Changbin had been completely caught; but he was too swift, and stubborn, to admit that it was true. His eyes, as per usual, were fixated up and down, moving back and forth as they glued to your figure, an extra second spent too long before he made eye contact with you. Changbin put a hand out, in invitation to lead you down the rather long hallway to his office. The room was nice. Marble desk, swirly chair, off white walls; if you ever had your own office, you would want it to look exactly like this.
Changbin closed the door behind you, showing you to your chair as he stood behind it, patiently waiting for you to sit down. He lingered behind, thumbs grazing the clothed skin of your shoulder as he looked down over your head while taking your jacket off and pacing it behind your chair, easy access to your chest. You rolled your eyes; perv. His proximity made you nervous, and you didn’t know why, but that familiar gravitational pull was something you very much liked to deny from a cognitive perspective.
“So Ms. y/l/n, y/n, can I call you that?”
“Sure,” you replied sarcastically, looking down at your fingers, fidgeting as you became more restless the longer he took to reply, forcing the two of you to sit in silence. God this was uncomfortable. Why was he dragging this out? Every second was torture for you. This was supposed to be one and done. Go to court and never have to work with this prick or to never see your T.O again. If anything it was making you angry. He knew that this was painful for you, yet he refused to move ahead.
“Can we start?”
“Yes of course,” he nodded, maintaining a serious facial expression as he opened up his notebook on his desk, “do you have any questions before we start?”
“How long is this going to take?”
“As long as necessary.”
He paused, again, seeming to be for dramatic effect, “Is that going to be a problem?”
“No,” you gulped, the sound of his pen clicking immediately making you anxious, “of course not.”
Your replies to the next few questions were short, but not abnormal as they were very closed ended questions. Changbin fixed his posture every few seconds, forearms flexing through his shirt while writing down his notes. It was somewhat frustrating that you had to multitask on so many things at once. His questions, making sure you were giving correct information. The way he rolled his sleeves up to his elbows to free up his caged arms. The veins. His lips. The deep voice coming out. Recalling events. To say you were getting overwhelmed was an understatement. He noticed your change in demeanor as soon as he freed himself, and for once in naivety, the emotion he felt was concern. He put the pen down, noticing that you needed a break from the lack of eye contact you were giving him. Although he hated your guts for most of the time, he didn’t want you to perceive him as a monster. It was sensitive stuff; everyone has a special relationship with a T.O. They show you the rope of everything, and they are there for you after intense crime scenes. The partnership was sensitive, and for it to blow up in your face was a shock to the system. He knew better than to rub salt in the seeping wound.
“We can take a break if you want. Can I get you anything?”
Your head snapped back up, a fake smile plastered on your face in an attempt to be polite and hide the discomfort that was going over the case with a comb, as well as the shock from his failure to make fun of you for once.
“Water and a break would be great.”
Changbin nodded, getting up from his seat and walking over to the water cooler in his office. Neat, but definitely obnoxious and just a ruse to show off how much money he made. And to think you were giving him the benefit of the doubt. Your impatience, and frustration was growing with each moment. Placing the water cup in front of you, he resumed his seat, taking a nice long sip of his cool refreshment.
“Right, where were we?”
His eyebrows furrowed, a sign of concentration as he thought about his next line of questioning.
“How many more things do we need to go over?”
He smirked, “already keen to get out of here?”
“Well,” you scoffed, “it’s kind of something that I want to get over and done with.”
His jaw clenched, “well it’s not that simple.”
“Yeah I know that I-”
“I don’t think you do. See, it’s my duty to give him the best possible case as he is paying me big bucks to get him the best outcome possible.”
“Yeah we know how much you love money,” you mumbled under your breath.
“What was that?”
“No nothing,” you shook your head vigorously, “well no not nothing. I just said we know how much you love money, you can’t help but always flaunt it at the station.”
He chuckled at your sarcastic yet honest response.
“Let’s just continue so we can get this over with.”
A pit of relief panged in your chest at his words, Changbin now finally has the same mentality as you. His phone rang, but he denied, quickly, shocking you in disbelief. He noticed your change in appearance, unsure why you reacted the way you did.
“What’s that look?”
“No nothing, you just, I’ve never seen you decline a phone call before.”
He smirked, nothing else.
“What can I say? You’re a special client.”
“I am?”
He immediately regretted the implications of those words. He really should have thought before he spoke, because the sentiment went straight to your head. Your ears felt hot, and suddenly the gravitational pull was very much noticeable again. You shifted in your seat, leaning forward; why not have some fun with it? Maybe it would ease the uncomfort you were experiencing. The white top you wore was low cut, something that you failed to mention, and remember, but sparked your memory once Changbin’s eyes dropped immediately. All you were doing was leaning forward, grabbing your cup, and sloppily drinking, a few droplets ‘accidentally’ falling onto your shirt. The white material helped you push your rebellion across, which ultimately did the complete opposite for him. He was now the one shifting in his seat, comfort somewhat observable as it was his turn to avoid your gaze.
“Ok so were you part of the drug trafficking ring?”
The smug expression on your face dropped instantly.
“Obviously not.”
“Well how is it obvious?”
“Through the evidence?”
“The evidence,” he paused, smug in his own arrogance, “is not in your favor. You know he has tried to pin a lot of it on you, right?”
His words triggered something in you; something ugly. You got up out of your seat, walking around and standing over him. How dare he say that? Even if he was just saying it to get your reaction, it was, for you, crossing the line.
“That’s why I’m not the one who got arrested. What are you trying to imply?”
He turned in his chair, legs spread open in the biggest manspread known to man as he continued to smirk. Fuck, you should be mad. You should be fuming at his accusations, smugness, cockiness. What was he trying to imply? Changbin tricked you into thinking that you would be a character witness. Silly you for thinking he actually was capable of caring for you, making sure you didn't get thrown under the bus when persecuted.
“Nothing?,” he scoffed, feigning ignorance laced in his tone, “What’s your problem?”
Your laugh was loud, indicating that your frustration had reached its boiling point. That fucking question again.
“My problem? What is yours? You walk into the precinct, act like you know everything and treat the officers with little to no respect, then you obstruct a detainment? What makes you think you are so entitled that you can just talk to everyone the way you want? And to top it off, you want to switch the charges and pin me, a rookie at the time, for the crimes committed?”
Your breath was raised high, out of breath from the absolute serving Seo Changbin just got from you. A huge weight lifted off of your chest, finally getting what had been lying on your chest for years off of it. He got up and walked around his desk and stood in front of you, very much in your personal space; with an unimpressed look to say the least. How dare you question his practice, his ability to prosecute and defend as a lawyer. It was, in his eyes, this most abhorrent thing a person could do, especially an authority figure of similar position. You were, however, too stubborn to back down, chest puffed and fists pumped up, nails digging into your palms to prevent yourself from doing something you would regret.
“You think you know me so well huh?”
“I think I do.”
“If you did then you would know I’m not trying to get you convicted. I’m doing the opposite?”
Yeah right.
“What the fuck are you talking about?”
“Of course I don’t want you to be a part of this, I want you to be as far away.”
“Why would you say something like that then? Accusine me? Do you just never think before you speak?”
The pompous lawyer didn’t answer straight away. The continuous cycle of confusion, anger, lust on repeat was sending you into a headspin. You couldn't keep up, but at the time, you were beginning to find the root of the reason you felt that cursed gravitational pull towards the man in front of you. As soon as his voice softened, so did you. Digits by your sides as opposed to dug in your palms, shoulders relaxed. Changbin was also standing very close to you. It was the first time you truly were able to take in his features. Thick, slicked up hair, tiny strands that had obviously been styled in a certain way that trickled over his forehead. The textureless surface area of his skin, the darkness of his eyes, you could have sworn his pupils were dilated, the color becoming darker and darker the longer he looked at you. His lips were in a whole different ball game. Very pink, very big, the hyperfixation was instant. Your eyes flicked between his lips and his own gaze, leaving you completely unsure where to look.
“I,” he sighed, pausing before making sure what he said came out the right way, “I don’t want you to get hurt. Fuck,” he paused again covering his face with his hands for a brief moment before standing even closer to you, “I want to make sure you’re okay and you don’t get caught in the crossfire.”
The atmosphere of the room had suddenly changed again, and now, you could not keep your eyes off of the pompous lawyer. He was pulling you in this time, hard, but contrary to the other times you experienced a similar sensation, you were finding it really difficult to find a way out.
“So rather than criticizing me, help me. Help me get through this how you would if you were me.”
The telekinesis was impactful, and no scientific theory or rationale could explain what followed, because the next thing you remembered was Changbin’s grip on your hips, pushing you forcefully to sit on the edge of his desk as he leaned forward and crashed his lips against yours. The energy was magnetic, and the normal part of you was saying what is happening right now, you should pull away, and you had the thought to do so.
But it’s merely a thought that flies into your consciousness then back into the unconsciousness. His lips felt too good, hands now gripping your face as his tongue entered your mouth. The kiss was slow, the intention to envelop him, take in as much as possible. His movements were delicate, yet simultaneously precise as his hands traveled to your behind, grabbing as much ass as possible, breaking away before whispering a quick ‘wrap your legs around me’ and lifting you up, pinning you against the back of his office door. It did slip in your mind for a brief moment that you were in a public setting and not the luxury of your home. It was just that however, like the others, a passing thought as his hips pinned you against the wooden frame, fingertips soothingly soaring against the sides of your torso as he lips left your own, littering across your jaw, up to your ear lobe, a thick stripe of the pomppus lawyer’s DNA coating the skin from the base of your neck to the tip of your ear lobe. There was nothing organized about the movements that occurred, partly because the navigation was unclear and he wasn’t a usual partner. But the main rationale was the increasing desperation that filled the tiny, gaping air that was closed each moment your lips moved in unison. As soon as his hands gripped your body, traveling down your sides and back to your ass; god he loved your ass.
Whether he would admit it or not, his mind went crazy everytime you walked away from him, mad or not. Conversation or no interaction at all. Changbin always wanted to see it, feel it, the texture of how the skin would feel in his hands, clothed or unclothed; he didn’t give a fuck. Changbin was grateful if there was any time in his life that he would get to experience it, and it was blowing his mind that it was happening. But, in the grace of it all, he was too stubborn, as per usual, to show that he wasn’t freaking out that this was actually happening. He wanted to be cool in front of you. He would rather get hit by a bus than admit that the feelings he had for you were something that were there every time he laid his eyes on you.
You could feel the subtle hard on across your groin, a gentle gasp escaping your lips and falling into his mouth as he acknowledged your reaction, gently grinding his hips against you, the friction only making your hornier as he pulled away, your hands leaching onto the buckle of his pants, the desperation clouding your efficacy to take it off in one swift motion. Changbin chuckled as he pulled away, unable to smirk as he was too desperate to worry about the lack of skill. His pants were off, and now it was your turn for a piece of clothing to be removed; and he wasn’t swift either.
Fuck buttons and belts, buckles, zippers, anything that was put on clothes which, for you to in this moment, seemed to only be put onto clothing to makes things more difficult. Changbin was able to undo the zipper and button on your jeans, helping the thick material pool at your ankles before he dropped to his knees for a brief moment to lift your ankles to help you discard them completely. Both pairs of bottoms were in a pile on the floor mixed together, maybe a metaphor for what was about to happen. Changbin’s jacket was easy to take off, and he cared too little to be meticulous with a basic white dress shirt, biceps bugling barely as he effortlessly ripped his shirt, the noise of the buttons hitting the hard surfaces of the office, leaving him in nothing but his boxers. His chest was heavy, pecs already 4 dimensional on his chest but Changbin needed no time as he was just too fucking hungry for you. Yearning, lusting, you name it. Changbin being out of breath was such a barrier to pick you up again, your back now lying against the contrasting cool surface of the marble desk as he hovered over you, another sensual kiss against your lips as his trails extended.
“Fuck,” he growled, primal like, “you have too many fucking clothes on.”
An annoyed sigh left your lips, “well that’s not my fault is it.”
He ignored your attitude. Changbin wanted to just rip it off, but he knew better than to let you leave with the clothing you did not come in with. His hands were now swift, wanting to focus on nothing else but your naked body. Changbin bit down on his bottom lip when he noticed your lack of chest undergarment.
“Did you do that on purpose?”
“Wouldn’t you like to know?”
“Jesus,” he paused, an extended trail of kisses descending down your body, past your neck, lingering on your chest, a quick flick of the nipples with his tongue that involuntarily made your back arch as he continued, eyebrows furrowed with concentration as he got to your panties. Your breath hitched a little when he got there, teeth teetering on the edge as he pulled them down, legs straight and the gentle bumpy texture of his teeth dancing across your legs as he finally got off the last obstacle of clothing. Changbin couldn’t help but bring a hand to his length as he gently palmed himself, completely mesmerized and aroused out of control at the current view he was looking at you. The temperature of your face was immediately as his eyes ogled over your very naked body. Fuck. It was so hot to see him like this. Speechless, no comebacks. You could tell that he wasn’t thinking much, which oddly turned you on so much. It was something you truly were not used to.
“Stand up for me.”
The four words came out of mouth abruptly, switching positions as he sat down, practically drooling as your ass moved with each step, titties bouncing in unison with each movement. All he could think about was how hard they bounced if you were on top of him. How easily he’d be able to move his hands with your ass as you rode him, took him from behind. His mind was racing even more, and now he was back at square one: too overwhelmed and much too aroused to form a comprehensive thought of what to do to you.
“You’re so different.” you whispered, not wanting to catch him off guard.
“I am?”
“Yeah,” you breathed, heavy, hands beginning to roam across your waist, breathing through slightly gritted teeth, “usually you have so much to say.”
His gaze was so lustful, heavy, you couldn’t help but touch yourself. Your fingers attached to your left hand traced along your inner thigh, legs gently shuddering. If you were being honest, it kind of scared you how much something as simple as a stare could do to you. Your index and middle finger traced along your pussy lips, a desperate moan escaping your lips when the tip of your digit accidentally brushed the bareity of your clit. You thought you could handle the game; you usually did. But this was the straw that broke the camel’s back, and there was no going back after this.
Changbin was also desperate, scrolling forward on his chair and reaching for your hips, steadying himself before his palms separated. One had pitching your left nipple and the other sliding on either side of your core, pussy lips trying to escape his digits. It was easy for him, seeing as your core was already a slip n’ slide, fingers practically begging and soaking up any sense of friction they could get.
“Stop teasing,” you gritted, small hitches in your wind at each possible moment of touch.
“Sorry,” he mumbled, adjusting his fingers without warning, tips attaching to the nub like a magnetic force. A much larger, breathier moan falls from the tight crevice that is your lips as Changbin gets closer to your torso, mouth latching onto the previously excluded nipple. The lawyer execution wasn’t perfect, and if this was the third or fourth time the two of you had been intimate, it most likely wouldn’t have felt as good.
At that stage, however, things were different. The tension from the lack of physical intimacy was the sole reason his fingers felt so good. This may, in the present moment be due to the short circuiting of your brain from the man’s fingers and lips, feel like something that just sparked out of the blue. Random. Out of nowhere; but anyone could tell that that was nothing but a crock of shit.
This was a culmination of all the times you disagreed, agreed, yelled, whispered, cared, lusted, hated, liked, loved? Even the way you looked at him when he would walk into that precinct with his very tight suits and heavy briefcases. The times Felix would nudge you to keep it down when the two of you would argue in front of the other officers, even the sergeant. The more you argued, the more care there was, even if it was illustrated as hatred. The opposite of hatred is indifference, not love, and there was nothing indifferent about the situation you found yourself to be in.
Changbin couldn’t think straight. There were times he thought about it too. Whether it was when he woke up in the morning, preparing a case of a perpetrator that you arrested. He felt like an idiot, because all he wanted to do now was touch you. There was no instruction, no structure to how he was doing it, just rubbing your clit and sucking on your nipples, teething the hardened nubs was the way to go. Changbin thought he would have so much more composure, but the moment your clothes were discarded was the moment he knew he was in trouble, because the images he visualized in his head were not even closer than how sexy he imagined you to be.
“Mhmmm,” you hummed, hips forming a gentle rhythm on his digits, your own hand running up and down his arm soothingly, “feels so good.”
“Yeah you like it?”
“Yes I-oh my god.”
You interrupted your own sentence when you found two of his fingers at your entrance. Slow, calloused textured fingers scratching your walls as he began to pump. He stood up simultaneously, slightly bent over to make sure that his fingers would remain consistent in depth while adjusting to the height difference. His thumb that belonged to the same hand reamiend on then sensitive numb, the three fingers creating a collective come hither motion. You took a few steps back, finding stability in the wooden cabinet behind you as Changbin’s fingers picked up in pace. He was still a cognitive mess, no craft to his skill, but it seemed to be more than fine for you. He analyzed your behavior. Lids fluttering on the brink of shutting, jaw slightly agape with sinful moans and groans disclosed, and your left hand groping your own breast.
On the contrary, you were just as overwhelmed, unable to speak, those unorganized noises the only indication of how his fingers were making you feel. Fuck, you were already so sensitive, and the fact that he was already hitting the fleshy mound inside your pussy with his fingers only aroused you tenfold, knowing that his cock would be just as effortless in doing so. Your eyes wanted to roll, reach the back of your head. You never knew that something so simple as someone’s fingers could make you feel this good. Your hips spasmed, walls already clenching around him as you knew that you were getting close.
“Shit,” Changbin groaned, that god awful yet fucking sexy smirk appearing, “you’re close, aren’t you?”
“No,” you mumbled, not wanting him to give you the satisfaction of knowing he made you feel like pure heaven, “b-barely.”
You could feel his hard on pressed against the top of our leg, itching at your hip bone which gave you the idea to take the heat off of you for a moment. Yes, it was like walking into the gates of hell to give him the gratification that he was bringing you to orgasm, but really, it was because you didn’t want it to stop. If you could have just stopped lying to yourself about how much arguing with this man turned you on, that you could have been in this predicament much earlier. Then again, maybe if it did happen earlier, the arousal of his simple touch wouldn’t impact you as much, and that would be no fun, would it?
Your hands, for the first time tonight, began to travel, snaking past his arms and right to where he wanted you. Changbin hissed, lips pressed against the side of your face as a deep groan bellowed from his chest.
“Fuck,” he hissed, the gentle grating of your hand against his clothed crotch taking him by surprise. You too, were in surprise at how big he felt. The visual was one thing, but you were always one for tactile senses. Your thumb slipped over the tip, the brief wetness that you assumed to be his precum easily felt. The muscles in your legs were getting tighter and tighter, and it was proving that rubbing Changbin’s cock wasnt enough to distract him from making you cum.
“Fuck I’m really c-close,” you whine, the pompous lawyer covering your mouth to prevent the crescendo of your voice project outside the 4 walls. He withdrew his fingers from your words, your bodies falling slightly limp and weary at the way you already were craving him, orgasm that was on the brim very cruel. Your hips were gripped once more, placing you to sit atop of his desk and he made no hesitation to slip his boxers off and let his cock spring free of what, to him, was torture. A very obvious gas came from your lips, still taken aback of how girthy he was. A nervous gulp followed, unsure if he would be able to fit. He could see the expression of concern. His hands cupped your cheeks, pressing another gentle kiss before they traveled back to his favorite spot, your hips.
“It’s ok,” he whispered, running his thumbs in a forgiving fashion against your hip bones, “just tell me to stop if you want to. I won’t be mad.”
You looked shyly into his eyes, nodding as you grabbed him by the base of his cock. A deep breath hollowed from hips at how your hands felt on him. God he had dreamed of this so many times. He would fixate on them every time he walked into the precinct. How such delicate hands could do such filthy things; it truly turned him on so much. The complexity of your character did too. You weren’t like other people that he had the pleasure of interacting with. No book that you could read by its cover. It was impossible, but maybe that's why he felt so drawn to you. He liked a challenge. He was a lawyer after all, and as much as he fantasized, unconsciously, about how you would look in such sinful positions, he was still able to simultaneously appreciate you and your character from afar, even when his presence wasn’t always appreciated by you in return.
“Your hands,” he chuckled, almost sounding nervous, “they feel so good.”
It was finally YOUR turn to smirk, getting him where you wanted him. Although you liked to do nothing more than torture him, a guilt would rise in your chest and you know it. By this point, it was obvious that both of you pined for each other, so the games of taunting and teasing, mind fucking were irrelevant, unnecessary. The main thing that you wanted was to get your brains fucked out, and Changbin wanted nothing more than to give that to you. You took your hand away, allowing the man himself to line up with your hole, before gently prodding at the entrance, effortlessly and to your surprise plunging his cock into your pussy. It was a loud noise, the squelch of your highly aroused cunt leaving the pompous lawyer's cock sucked in like a vacuum. Your arms, without thought, wrapped around Changbin’s neck, pulling him closer to truly feel as much of him as you could.
“Jesus fuck,’ he chuckled, beinging to pull out slowly, “this is the juiciest pussy I’ve ever fucked.”
The sentence made you moan, hips wiggling to keep as much of his length inside of you as he gently moved back and forth. If anyone else spoke like this to you, the next action would most likely be a slap in the face. Compliment or not, it was so hot the way Changbin’s words fell from his lips without thought. Even when the two of you shared heated discussions it was the same. Words, harsh, soft, anything he said was without thought. But this moment was when you liked it best, because as he continued to pull in and out of you, the corrupt compliments just continued to spell out, belongings beginning to fall off his desk with each thrust. It was usually something you hated, but maybe now, you could manipulate it to your own benefit.
“Jesus christ,” he continued to repeat over and over, hands gripping your ass as he used your body to grind into you, “I love how wet your pussy is for me.”
“Me too baby,” you moaned back, unable to help yourself, “I never knew it could get this wet.”
“Only for me,” he growled, partly out of breath, “this pussy belongs to me.”
There was no point in even refuting what he said. If he was going to make it scream like this every time he was near it from now on, he can have it. No one had ever made you feel this good. Electricity was flying the longer his skin made contact with yours. Maybe it was partly hallucinations from your sex brain, but you didn't care, nothing would ever equate to this, and no one could ever have such a pull on you than the man in front of you. Changbin had acquired some confidence, because he began to move with much vigor, cock feeling harder and harder the longer he was inside of you. It didn’t take long for him to find the previous spot that he was able to hit with his fingers, your eyes almost popping out of your head when he did, your own hand coming to your mouth and biting on your fingernails as he did, a poor attempt to suppress the roaring sounds that cut down from your lips, surely enough to alert whoever else was in the building. It took him a matter of milliseconds for him to notice, a hand leaving your body and clasping your wrist, forcing you to straighten your fingers as he pushed them inside your mouth. It was now his turn for his eyes to bulge out of his head, a whole new level of turned on as he watched each knuckle on the two of your fingers disappearing past your lips. He stood still, forgetting about his cock and fixating on nothing but the way your fingers were coated heavily from such a simple action
“Fuck me,” he scoffed, “I didn’t think you could get any sexier.”
Your eyes ogled as you looked up at him, lips forming into a pour around your tips as they withdrew from your mouth. Before you even had the chance, Changbin was already redirecting your fingers to your own core, spreading your pussy lips far as your fingers dragged to them, a teeth gritted sigh coming from the pompous lawyer as he picked up his pace. All he could do was stare, solely focused on how your center got wetter and wetter. The way your pussy hole was now clenching and double the pleasure from tow spots. Fuck, he didn’t care about his own pleasure, because all he could think was how magical your pussy was.
You were so hot and bothered by the way Changbin’s mouth dropped when he watched you flick your own clit, fingers brushing the base of cock once every few thursts as he continued to fuck you out of your mind relentlessly.
“Oh god,” you whined, not even caring about how loud the combination of sounds must have been to one walking by, “so fucking good.”
“I fucking bet,” he chuckled, tongue slipping over his tongue lip, “if you’re pussy keeps getting wetter I won’t be able to help myself.”
“Fuck, what do you mean?”
He suddenly picks up his pace to an all time speed, unable to control himself physically and verbally.
“I’ll have no choice,” he grunts, using all of his might to bury his cock inside of you, “I’ll have to cum in you.”
Oh no. This is bad. Changbin doesn’t know this, but he's unlocked one of your deepest rooted desires. You immediately attack his lips as soon as his sentence concludes, not wanting him to say anything else. You knew it was bad, but there is no way you would ever say no to letting him fill you to the brim.
“Do it,” you whispered, forehead meeting as your gaze fixed on him, “cum in me.”
“Yeah?”
“Yes baby, fill me up with your load.”
“Oh fuck,” he wined, his first high pitch of the night, “whatever you want.”
Your hips inched off his desk, giving him easier access to control you, giving yourself up to him in every way possible. Holy fuck were you about to bust yourself at any minute. Seeing the longing want and need to finish in you being an option was driving him wild.
“Oh my god Y/n,” he whispered, “I can’t hold it back any longer.”
“That’s okay baby just do it.”
“Do it?”
“Cum in me,” you whined, “I know you filling me up will make me cum so hard.”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah baby do it.”
“I’ll cum in you.”
“Yeah cum in me.”
The back and forth with no room to breath in between was spilling you over the edge, and so was it for Changbin. His face was contorting more and more with each second, knowing he was going to blow his load any minute.
“Fuck I’m gonna cum,” he continued to whine, unable to look anywhere else except your gaze before finally reach his high, pulling himself out completely except for tip, able to watch the way each load blew straight into your pussy. A heavy breath filled your lungs as the warmth of his seed tipped over the edge, hips bucking uncontrollably as it dribbled out, Changbin also spasming before gently pushing himself back in, the two of you using each other to ride out the peak of your orgasms.
Your chest heaved simultaneously, the sounds of such heavy breaths the only noise filling the room as he pulled out, the motion causing you to whimper and already crave his touch once again. Changbin looked around, finding the box of tissues that fell off of his desk in the midst of things, cleaning the trail of his remains that was currently spilling down your leg. A small giggle erupted from your lips as you watched his aim with such delicacy and poise.
“What?” He smiled.
“Nothing,” you smiled in return, his grin becoming infectious, “I’ve just never seen you move so carefully before.”
“Hey I can be gentle!”
“Can you though?”
You pointed at your hips, already discolored in light shades of purple. He ignored your gesture, rolling his eyes as he grabbed the pile of clothes that was once an obstacle, handing it back with much of a haste.
“We still have to work on the case, you know.”
“We can’t make another appointment?”
“Well no because I think 85% of the office would have heard that and it would look very suspicious if you just left.”
“I don’t think it matter if they heard, they’re still gonna know we fucked.”
“Jesus christ y/n,” he scoffed, “don’t fucking start with me now.”
“What?”
“You’re driving me crazy.”
“How?”
“The more you argue with me, the more I want to fuck you over and over again.”

I saw you wanted requests for Hazbin so I have one for you Lucifer x platonic reader where the reader dies when they are really young and are in hell for unknown reasons and Lucifer finds them and maybe takes them in? I'm curious how the family would be with a new member in the family and how Lucifer would take the role of a dad figure to the reader
I just think it would be adorable honestly
𓍢ִ໋Lucifer MoronMorningstar x Reader (Platonic)
note: I'm assuming the reader here is a child because of the "really young" description
Note: day 3 sorry I was reading shameless smut anyways here's your food :3
˚ 𔓘𓍢ִ໋🐤
— This man was just going around in his own theme park, Lu Lu World.
— He was pretty much mindless walking around until his security was chasing some kid.
— He thought you were just some hellborn that snuck in, but hearing that you just spawned here was quite surprising.
— He walks over to the scene where you are, hiding behind a cart from one of his rides.
"This kids been going around the park for 3 hours." One of his securities chuckled. Lucifer walks over to you.
"Hey kid, what's your name?"
He asks, kneeling down to your level. When you didn't respond, he snapped his finger and made a caramel apple and a rubber duckie that kind of looked like him.
After you took one of those, he smiled.
"You aren't from here, aren't you?" You shook your head. Lucifer felt a small tug in his heart— looking at your curious eyes reminded him of Charlie when she would listen to his stories.
"Oh? Well, why are you here? You're too young to be in... a place like this." The moment you couldn't give an answer, he felt a bit tense.
He just looks at you like this for a few seconds. It's either heavens shit vague morals, OR you did something criminal and horrendous to get you to hell at this age (very small flashbacks of Helluva Boss' first episode)
Tumblr media
Either way, figuring out that you were alone when you came here, he decided to take you in for the meantime. He carries you back to his (not so) humble abode.
"Y'know you're lucky that my nicest security guard found you."
— Flash forward a few days later and OH MY GODDDDD.
— While you were in his study, he was making another rubber duckie.
— This man has at least made 30+ rubber duck versions of you based on seasons, holidays, activities—
— it's kind of easy taking care of you since all your needs could be provided with a snap of a finger (kind of. He's a bit rusty about standing up as a dad again, him a second—)
— No matter what, though, he promises to be better for you (and Charlie)
"Almost there..." he groaned, hunched over on his desk as he works on another one. He then presents you the finished product— "THE MAGIC-TASTICAL BACK FLIPPING RUBBER DUCK THAT SPITS FIRE!"
The duck successfully does its backflip and spits fire. Though the silence was deafening in the study, you clapped, and he chuckles at this.
"Aha, hold the applause, please, okay, thank you, thank you— WHO AM I KIDDING? THIS SUCKS."
He switches up and throws the rubber duckie to a family portrait. Before you could ask Lucifer who those people specifically are, his phone started ringinh
"Daughter? Daughter— DAUGHTER CALLING?!"
ah.
After watching him embarrassingly fumble his words and use you and his job as an excuse that he was busy, he decided to prepare to go to Charlie's hotel with YOU!!! YAY!!!
— The moment Charlie hears that her dad has taken a kid in, whe was a bit concerned mostly for you.
— Does her dad know what he's doing..
— aside that, she ADORES YOUUUU
— SHE'S AN OLDER SISTER NOW??? HELLO???
— has called you a cutie patootie more than your actual name
— wanted to carry you around the moment she saw you walk in with Luci
— Even asks you if you would want to be redeemed because you might have nice relatives in heaven (unless you wanna stay with Lucifer, of course)
Bonus that no one asked for:
— Alastor has eyes on you
— tried to charm you with any intriguing toy he could summon just for you
— not only does Alastor love seeing Lucifer pissed off, but you laughing with him? Keep smiling for him
— watch the two of them fill the hotel with toys while arguing who's gift you liked more
Note: dear god it's 3:24 am.

“You’re best friends with Luffy, right?”
Zoro is sleeping—or at least, trying to. With how rambunctious the crew is right now, and the way the ship rocks on the waves, it’s pretty easy to assume that the man is still awake. That, and, you had seen his brows flinch slightly when your shadow fell over his face.
But still, he pretends.
Fine.
You kick him.
Zoro catches your ankle before you make contact with his leg. “Oi,” he snaps.
You flail for balance, a squeal sticking in your throat as your centre of gravity tilts.
Zoro pulls you as you fall and you crash on your side.
“Ow,” you say, mostly for show, because your arm had cushioned your landing and you’ve been through much worse than this. Zoro knows it too.
“Quit being a baby,” he grouses, shifting himself up higher on the railing now that he’s officially awoken from his nap. “The Hell were you thinking, trying to kick me?”
You roll onto your back. “You were ignoring me.”
“I was trying to sleep.”
“But you weren’t, yet.”
“Yeah—yet. I was getting there.”
“So you just ignored me?” You bat your arm in his general direction. “What if it was an emergency?”
“It wasn’t.”
“You don’t care about me.”
“The Hell?”
You giggle because he didn’t say, ‘Yeah, of course I don’t’ and that’s a win if you’ve ever encountered one. “You don’t,” you sigh, carpeting the floor with your faux misery. “I could die and you woul—”
“Shut up.” Zoro actually jabs you in the arm with the hilt of one of his swords.
“Hey!”
“You didn’t hit your head when you fell, right?”
You scoff, mirthful shock coating your words, “Are you calling me stupid?”
“No—I mean, I made sure you didn’t hit your head when you fell.”
It takes a while for his words to click in your brain, and when it does—Oh. You turn your head to look at him, cheek pressing into the hardwood floors. “Why can’t you just say you care about me like someone who isn’t emotionally constipated?”
Zoro scowls, crossing his arms across his chest and looking away like he’s a four-year-old child throwing a tantrum. “Is this what you woke me up for?” he grumbles.
You want to keep ribbing him, but you understand that Zoro is being defensive, so you take his cue and reroute the conversation. “No, actually—I wanted to ask you a favour.”
He turns back, scepticism raising his brows. “About Luffy?”
You open your mouth to ask how he knows, but you realise you had asked about your captain when you approached Zoro. “So you did ignore me,” you gasp, slightly maybe a lot offended.
“Yeah, of course I did—I was trying to sleep!” he shoots back.
It’s your turn to cross your arms over your chest and cast your gaze to the sky. “I can’t believe you.”
Zoro clicks his tongue before tapping your leg lightly with his foot. “What’d you need help with?”
“Nah,” you push out with a breath, “I don’t want your help anymore.”
“Fine,” Zoro says, yawning. “Go somewhere else—I’m trying to sleep.”
You slap his knee. “Oi.”
“What do you need, then?”
“I wanna kiss Luffy.”
A beat. Then, “And you’re telling me, because?”
“Because, Zoro,” you say, turning to face him again, “last time I tried, you called his attention to a Sea King and ran off with him.”
Zoro snorts. “So, go kiss him now.” He jerks his chin towards the deck where he, Usopp and Chopper are gathered. “He’s not busy.”
“It’s not that simple,” you intone, stretching out your words. “I can’t just do it out of nowhere, it has to be proper and—”
“Oh, kill me now,” Zoro whispers in exasperation. He deflects another one of your attacks, knocking your hand out of its trajectory. “If you wanted romantic, you should’ve gone to the Cook.”
“But he’s your best friend,” you reiterate. “You know him better than anyone here.”
Zoro sighs, long-sufferingly. “Have you tried talking to him?” he asks, tired.
“No?” Bewilderment laces your tone, falling in a heavy heap on the ground. “I’m not telling Luffy I want to kiss him.”
“Why not?”
“Because it’s weird; I can’t just tell him, I just gotta do it.”
“Then do it—He’s right there.” Once again, he gestures towards your captain, as if you’re not already hyperaware of his presence.
“Not like that,” you hiss.
“Oh, my God,” Zoro grumbles. “Stop being difficult.”
“I’m not! I just need to you to help me—”
“I’m trying! You keep dismissing my solutions. It’s so easy, here, look—Luffy!”
Your heart jumps into your throat as Zoro hollers, and you leap forward to cover his mouth. You misjudge the distance, punching him in the cheek instead.
“What the fuck?” Zoro rears his head back, slapping your hand away.
“Shit, I’m so sorry—” You retract your offending limb, covering your mouth in shock. “Are you okay?”
“Yeah, didn’t hurt,” he says, and you can tell he’s not just saying it to make you feel better. The man’s been through so much worse, and you both know it. “Just, what the fuck, though?”
“I didn’t mean to,” you lament. “I just—You yelled, and I was trying to stop you, but I—”
“What’s up?”
You didn’t scream.
You didn’t.
You just, got startled. Because it was Luffy. And he came out of nowhere. And if Zoro or Luffy said you screamed… well.
They don’t know what they’re talking about.
You whip around, heart hammering in your throat because you were just talking about kissing Luffy, and now the man is here, squatting in front of you, and you don’t know how much he may have overheard. “Nothing!” Your voice comes out high and nervous.
“Fucking—” Zoro sighs, nudging you towards Luffy with his calf because in your scramble to shut Zoro up, you’d landed on his leg. “Can you just ki—”
You’re more successful this time, shouting over the top of his words and slapping a hand to his mouth. “What the Hell is wrong with y—Ow!” You wrench your hand away at a sharp sting on your palm. “Did you just bite me?” At Zoro’s deadpan stare, you furrow your brows. “What kinda feral—?”
Behind you, Luffy laughs; so loud and carefree that your heart stutters in your chest.
You think you might pass out, but you turn to look at your captain because his joy is always a sight to behold.
“Wow,” Zoro muses aloud, “you are down ba—”
You jerk your elbow into Zoro’s stomach, cutting off his words. “Shut up!” you hiss.
“What were you guys talking about?” Luffy asks again when he settles down.
“Nothing,” you repeat, voice calmer.
Zoro rolls his eyes. “Really?”
“Except for the fact that Zoro is being a butthead,” you say pointedly.
“Butthead?” the butthead echoes.
“Ah.” Luffy nods sagely. “That sounds like Zoro.”
“Oi!”
You giggle, watching as Zoro grabs a sword and jolts the hilt towards Luffy’s face.
Luffy grabs the hilt to deflect it, but when Zoro pulls his weapon back, Luffy careens forward.
“Ah!” The shout is more from surprise than anything, Luffy’s knee colliding with your shin as he practically falls on you.
“Shit,” Zoro breathes.
“Oh.” Luffy scrambles himself off your leg. “Are you okay?”
“Yeah,” you dismiss his concern. “That actually didn’t hurt, I’m fine.” You’re hefting yourself up with your elbows, expecting Luffy to move out of your way.
But he doesn’t.
And now you’ve almost pushed yourself up against his chest.
And he’s looking at you so earnestly your cheeks are flushing. “Are you sure you’re okay?” he presses.
You nod, throat thick. Body warm. Your eyes dart down to his lips. The urge to kiss him rises tenfold. Maybe you could just do it. No fancy situation, no set up. Just… this. With him hovering over you because it just happened that way. Staring at you with concern swimming in his pupils.
“So, can I go now?” Zoro pipes up from behind you.
You startle, bumping a shoulder into Luffy’s chin.
Luffy recoils, effectively severing the moment.
“I am so sorry!” you gasp, reaching out to cradle his head. “Oh God, are you okay?”
Luffy nods in your hands, chuckling lightly. “’M fine.”
“Zoro, you can’t just do that!” you hiss at him.
“I have been here the whole time,” he deadpans. “But it seems I’ve done my job, so I’m gonna g—”
Luffy tilts his head. “What job?”
“Nothing!” you yell before Zoro can answer, letting go of Luffy like you’ve been burnt. “Nothing.” You slide out from between the two of them and clamber to your feet. “You take your nap,” you say to Zoro, “and you can go back to—” You signal towards Usopp and Chopper, “playing, I don’t know.” You smile at Luffy even though you don’t really feel it. “I’ll go.” You depart before the two of them can say anything to you.
“You were too much of a butthead,” Luffy says in a low enough voice that you know he’s not talking to you.
There’s the sound of something hard hitting something fleshy.
“How’s this my fault?” Zoro retaliates.
You duck into your room before you can hear if their banter escalates to sparring.

two
There’s a stabbing pain in your side, but you ignore it in favour of running across the rubble—or at least, try to. The sharp ache is all encompassing, and you’re pretty sure you’re bleeding out as well.
But right now, it’s of no matter.
What is of matter, though, is the fact that Luffy is on the other side of this debris, and you need to get to him.
You crest the peak and start down the slope towards the ground, towards your captain wobbling on his feet, bruised and ruffled. “Luffy!”
He turns when you call out to him, face lighting up when he catches sight of you.
You’re practically tripping over your own feet to make it over to him, teeth gritting at the jabs that lance through your ribs.
He crashes into your body when you enter his personal space, your legs faltering under the unanticipated weight.
You catch yourself on your knees, holding in the gasp that wants to escape because him jarring into you didn’t help. You wrap your arms beneath his shoulders to keep him up. “Hey,” you breathe out, chest releasing some of the air that had been trapped in there at the thought of your captain in peril. “You okay?” You’re frantically pawing at his face, thumbs swiping at the blood and cuts.
Luffy nods, a soft smile pulling at his lips. “’M good,” he manages to answer around you pulling on his skin. “Are you?”
“Yeah.” Satisfied with your inspection—his wounds are shallow and will heal up at a rate that still shocks you—relief pools into your stomach. “We’re good, we won.”
He furrows his brows, eyes scanning your face before they rest down your body. “You’re hurt,” he states.
“It’s fine.” You shake your head, hiding a wince because, yeah, it does hurt, but you don’t want him to fuss over you when he looks like this. “I’ll be fine.”
“You’re bleeding,” he reiterates, cupping a hand over your wound.
“Ah!” You shrink away from his touch, unbalancing both you and him because he had been essentially leaning on you for support.
Luffy circles his arm around you, righting you before you topple backwards, taking him down too. “You’re hurt,” he repeats, voice soft.
You stare at him, face so close to yours that you can see his eyelashes. You’re so pressed up against him that you feel him breathing on your chest, every rise and fall in tandem with yours.
His heart is beating quickly—or maybe it’s yours.
It probably is yours.
He’s so close to you, and your brain feels like mush; lightheaded and echoey. Your ears thunder with the sound of your own heart. Your breaths catch in your chest.
“We should get you to Chopper,” he murmurs. He looks behind you, over the debris, where the rest of the crew should be.
A part of your brain knows it’s urgent, but the other part can’t stop staring at his lips as he speaks. “Luffy,” you utter.
He snaps his focus back to you, gaze darting between your eyes. “What?”
You shift your weight onto his, and he takes it easily, tightening his arm around you. You can feel your breath blow back on your face with how hard you’re breathing onto Luffy’s. Your head fills more and more with cotton as you careen towards his lips.
You black out before you make it.

three
After the fiasco of employing Zoro’s assistance, you decide that he actually isn’t much help at all. So the next best thing is to go to Robin. Because she’s clever, and smart.
You sit her down in the quiet of the aquarium and tell her about your dilemma, and about Zoro’s ridiculous suggestion of ‘just asking Luffy,’ and how nothing you’ve tried has worked.
She laughs at the end of your recollection, a soft thing that she hides in her palm before standing up. “Come with me,” she says.
You follow her, recognising the walk to the library as you’re halfway there.
She settles you down at the table before disappearing between some shelves, to, presumably, find a book. When she returns, a light in her eye, you know she’s found something good. “It’s Christmas soon,” she says as though it’s a suggestion.
“Okay?” you ask, bemused.
She chuckles softly, rifling through the pages to find the spread she wants and places it on the desk, tilting it so it’s upright for you to read. “Mistletoe.”
You look down at the page, a drawing of said plant on display. “Uh-huh.”
“It’s tradition,” she begins, “for people to kiss when they’re caught under a mistletoe together.”
You glance up at her. “Oh. So, we just have to get some mistletoe,” you say. The plan sounds easy enough.
But.
“Where, exactly, are we gonna get some mistletoe?”
“Next time we stop by an island, I suppose,” she muses quietly. “It’s a Christmas tradition,” she elaborates, “so at this time of year, people will be selling these everywhere.”
“Great—thank you.” You already feel much better about her advice than you did with Zoro’s. You lift the page between your fingers, pulling the paper.
Arms sprout from the table, clutching at your wrist.
“What,” Robin says, a harsh lilt to her tone, “are you doing?”
“I just need to know what it looks like.”
“You’ve seen what it looks like,” she continues in the same voice.
“Yeah, but I’m not gonna remember it once we get to an island.”
“So, you decide to vandalise my book?”
“I’m not vandali—Ow, ow!” You let go of the page as she tightens her hold around you. “Okay, I made a mistake,” you cry.
The arms disappear. “I’ll buy it for you,” she resumes the conversation like nothing happened. “You can find some place to put it afterwards.”
You feel like you got whiplashed. “Okay,” you whisper, confused. “Thank you?”
It’s another three days before the ship docks at a small island, and Robin comes back with two sprigs of mistletoe. She hands one to you, keeping the other ‘just in case.’ You don’t really know what that means, but at this point, you know well enough to just leave her and her property alone.
“Where’s a good place to put this?” you ask, dangling the twig between your fingers.
“Where would Luffy spend most of his time?”
You sigh.
You burst into the kitchen, having checked through the windows to make sure it was devoid of your captain first.
Sanji looks up at your sudden entrance, scraping carrots into a bowl. “Dinner’s almost ready,” he informs you absently. He returns to cutting the vegetables. “Probably start cooking in ten minutes.”
“That’s not why I’m here.”
That piques his interest, the blond looking up again. “What’s up?” he asks, attention now more evenly split between the food prep and you.
“I…” You glance out the windows, as though talking about Luffy would summon him. “Need your help with something.”
“Mine?”
“Yeah.” You approach the counter where he’s working, sitting on a stool opposite him. “I need to put this,” you lift the sprig higher so he can see, “somewhere in here.”
Sanji stares at the plant. “Mistletoe?”
“Yes, see.” You tell him about Robin’s ingenious plan to help you kiss Luffy. And how Sanji knows the kitchen better than anyone, and knows where Luffy lingers the most.
Sanji lets out a sharp breath of amusement through his nose. “Okay.”
“Great! Just—not now. Christmas is in five days, so—”
“I got it,” Sanji says. “Keep it safe ‘til then.”
“Exactly, thank you!”
The following week is busy; the crew gathering to decorate the Sunny, and making quick stops onshore to find gifts for one another. Between draping garland and wrapping presents, you find yourself migrating to the kitchen a lot.
It’s not that you don’t trust Sanji.
But.
This is really important to you, and you don’t know if he’ll prioritise it the same. You make sure the mistletoe is still alive and fresh. Hidden somewhere out of sight and not easily disposed of if someone else were to help out in the kitchen. Most days, you volunteer yourself to assist, just so you know another crew member won’t find it, and then no embarrassing explanation would have to ensue.
It’s easier that way.
“Good morning,” Sanji greets, already anticipating your arrival with a cup of tea.
“Hey.” You take a sip before putting the beverage down. “Is—”
“Yep,” he says, already taking out the tin from the cupboard and sliding it across the countertop to you. “Same place as it was last night, when you checked. And the time before that, and before that too. And—”
“Alright,” you snap, no heat in your tone. “I’m just…” You shrug, at a loss for why you feel so obsessive over a piece of tree.
“Nervous?”
You sigh. “Yeah.”
Sanji pushes the tea over to your hands, and you smile at him. “How about, no more looking at it today.”
You frown. “I don’t think that’s gonna help.”
“Did looking at it help?”
You close the lid and pass it back to him. “No,” you admit quietly.
“I don’t think you’re stressed about the mistletoe disappearing,” Sanji says, voice incredibly soft as he addresses you.
You hum, tapping your fingers on the sides of the cup. “I just… want it to work.” Because if it doesn’t…
If it doesn’t…
That’s not something you want to think about.
“It will.” And he says it with so much certainty that for a second, you believe it too.
You don’t check up on the mistletoe for the rest of the day, but you do still help out in the kitchen.
You’re staring at the counter, where you know the mistletoe is. You know it’s there. You saw it this morning. Sanji let you put it back in there before closing the cupboard and declaring that place off-limits to you. And no one else had come in, other than to eat, and that was over here by the dining tables, not over there.
There’s still a gnawing feeling in your stomach, but you haven’t seen it. So, what if? What if someone came through, looking for something else, and in their search, saw it and took it?
“Are you okay?”
You blink back to the present, snippets of conversation tuning back into focus like a radio. Right. Dinner with the crew. Everyone’s here, eating and having fun.
Sanji is peering at you from across the table, waiting for your answer.
“Yeah,” you say. “Just—distracted.” You look back down to your plate, surprised to find that nothing’s been taken from it.
“Do you want to check it?”
You purse your lips in thought. It would help.
But.
“No.” You shake your head. “I’ve already gone most of the day, right?” you say. “No point caving now.”
“If you’re sure,” Sanji relents. At your nod, he sighs. “Can you just eat something?”
You stick your spoon into the rice.
A chicken drumstick is placed on your plate, and when you follow the hand attached to it, you realise it belongs to Luffy, sitting on the far end of the table.
“You look sad,” he calls across, retracting his arm.
“I’m fine,” you dismiss his concern, turning back to your food. “Thanks.”
The rest of the crew watches, astounded at their captain’s generosity, and your lack of response.
When Christmas finally arrives, you’re not sure how you feel. Yes, it’s Christmas, so you’re excited. But that means putting up the mistletoe and finally bringing your plan to fruition. And that part, you’re more reluctant about.
You’re the first one in the kitchen aside from Sanji, and he looks up, smiling at you.
“Door,” he says.
You turn, watching it close. “What?”
“The mistletoe,” he reiterates. “Put it up last night.”
“Oh!” With the new information, you tilt your head back. It sways gently from the door’s motions. “That’s the best place for it?”
“Luffy comes and goes upwards of twenty times a day.” Sanji sounds sure of himself. “If there’s any place that he frequents a lot, it’s that door.”
“Thanks, Sanji,” you say, beelining for the tea he’s left for you on the counter.
Sanji starts to crack eggs into a mixing bowl, and you stare at your drink. “How are you feeling?”
You shrug. “Still nervous, but… not much else I can do about it.”
“Just.” He takes a whisk from the drawer. “Don’t think about it too much.”
Scoffing, you take a sip of your tea. “I really don’t think there’s anything else for me to think about, right now.”
“What do you want for breakfast?” he asks.
“Whatever you’re making,” you say absently, “I don’t mind.” You’re two-thirds of the way through your drink when you speak again. “What if it doesn’t go right?”
“How?”
“Like, what if…?” You swallow something thick. “What if he doesn’t want to kiss me? Then I’ve just—”
Luffy crashes through the door, startling you out of your conversation with Sanji. He scans the kitchen, face lighting up when he makes eye contact with you, bounding over. “What are you doing in here?” he asks, plopping himself down in the chair you’re standing next to.
“Nothing,” you deflect, because you don’t really want to tell him that you were lamenting to Sanji about whether he’d kiss you or not. But your answer is suspicious too, so you retract your earlier statement with what you hope is a carefree shrug.
(It’s not.)
“I was helping out with food and stuff.” You turn to the eggs already beaten laid out in front of Sanji. Shit.
Luffy hums, a slight dejection to the note. “Come outside,” he says instead.
You pause, trying to think of an excuse. “But we gotta make breakfast, then there’s the big Christmas dinn—”
“But I miss you,” he says, frowning.
Oh.
“We donʼt hang out much, anymore.”
You blink, gulping your dangerously loud heart back into your chest. It’s suddenly warm in the kitchen even though the ovens and stoves are off. “Okay,” you croak.
Luffy beams at you, and your breath sweeps away. He grabs your hand to lead you out, and your palm feels clammy in his.
As you’re leaving, Sanji clears his throat.
Luffy stops, turning around. “What?” he asks.
You turn too, a murderous glare pointed at the blond. Shut the fuck up, you will towards him.
Sanji flickers his gaze over your heads.
“What?” Luffy repeats.
“Nothing,” you say quickly, trying to step further onto the deck to steer him out of the kitchen.
Luffy purses his lips, standing his ground. He’s always been stronger than you, so your attempts to move him are rendered futile because he’s not cooperating. “No, I wanna know,” he presses. There’s a pout to his lips, and you can’t help but think he looks cute like this.
“It’s just.” You swallow thickly, tilting your head up to look at the top of the door frame.
Luffy follows your eyes, zeroing in on the lone green tendril hanging off the door. “Ah,” he says.
You watch him, trepidation drying your tongue.
“Why’d Sanji put food in such a weird place?”
“What?”
He shoots his arm towards it, clutching the plant in his hands—leaves and all.
And shoves it in his mouth.
“No!”
“Are you fucking kidding me?” Sanji yells, vaulting over the counter. He grabs Luffy by the back of the neck. “Spit it out!”
“Luffy, that was mistletoe,” you say when you’ve gotten over the initial shock. Your hands are hovering over him, wanting to help but not sure how because Sanji is already there, and you’d only be in the way.
“So?” he manages to say around Sanji trying to pull his mouth open.
“Mistletoe is poisonous, you dumbass!” Sanji growls, realising that it’s already been swallowed. “We need to get you to Chopper.”
“But I feel fine,” Luffy protests.
You usher your captain out the door, heartbeat reverberating loudly in your throat. “No, please just—C’mon.” You walk around Luffy when you’ve exited the kitchen, pulling on his hand to lead him to the infirmary. You look at Sanji over Luffy’s shoulder. “You go…” You gesture back inside the kitchen. “I got this.”
“You sure?” Sanji asks.
You nod. “There’s a lot to do for today.” You turn back around, glancing at the rest of the deck. “Chopper!” you call out to him when you see the reindeer with Usopp and Nami.
Chopper darts his head up, looking at you. “Yeah?”
“We need you in here!” you say, pointing your thumb back towards the door of the doctor’s office.
There’s clambering as Chopper disregards his prior activities—unwrapping presents, judging by the colours on the floor—to run over. “What happened?” he asks when he’s closer.
“I ate something,” Luffy says when you open the door. “Sanji said it was poisonous.”
“Mistletoe,” you interject before Chopper can panic too much. You stand to the side, letting them in first.
“Mistletoe?” Chopper repeats.
“It’s… a long story.”

plus one
Chopper releases Luffy from the infirmary after coming to the conclusion that the captain’s run-in with Magellan has heightened his tolerance for poison. So eating a twig of mistletoe will do nothing more to him than upset his stomach, which should pass on its own.
After the little doctor confirms this, you breathe out a sigh of relief.
Luffy turns to you; a smile on his face, a comment on his tongue of how you’d been so worried over nothing, but—
You’re exiting the room, door shutting behind you.
“Hey!” Luffy scrambles off the bed, sidestepping Chopper with a quick ‘Thanks!’ before dashing outside to find you.
You’re faster than anticipated, halfway to the dorms.
But Luffy has abilities that you don’t, so he stretches his arms, hooking his palm around the mast to slingshot himself forward, landing in front of you with a grunt.
“Fuck!” you hiss, jumping backwards, eyes wild with his sudden appearance.
“Sorry!” Luffy is quick to placate you.
“What the Hell?”
“Didn’t mean to scare you—What’s wrong?” He interrupts himself with the question because thatʼs more important right now, and knowing how the two of you like to banter, you’d gloss over how you’re feeling in order to keep teasing him about startling you.
“What?”
“There’s something wrong with you,” Luffy says, because he hasn’t been seeing much of you this past week, and he thought that maybe you just wanted time for yourself to recharge, but you were always in the kitchen with Sanji, instead of hanging out with him like you usually did, and that—
He pushes that aside.
Not important right now.
“There’s nothing wrong with me,” you say quietly.
“Yes, there is.” He’s insistent, knowing that whatever it is is bothering you.
“It’s just… I wanted to—” You sigh. “Nothing,” you dismiss. Then, “It’s stupid.”
“What’s stupid about it?”
You pause, thinking about his question. “I… don’t know.”
“So, it can’t be stupid.”
Your lips quirk up, a brief thing that lights up your face for a millisecond, but Luffy watches, enamoured, because he hasn’t seen it in so long.
“It’s…” You shrug, hesitation dancing across your features. You stare up at him, and he really wishes your eyes weren’t apprehensive.
“Tell me,” he presses gently.
“I want to kiss you.”
“Oh.” He suddenly finds it hard to breathe. “And that makes you upset?” The thought of that squeezes his chest.
“No, no! That doesn’t make me upset, it’s just, I’ve been trying to kiss you for the past month, but things would happen, and I couldn’t do it, and then we came up with this plan with the mistletoe, but you—”
He stretches his arms, wrapping them around your waist to pull you towards him. He leans down and seals his mouth over yours, effectively silencing you.
You gasp in surprise, but the noise is swallowed up, lips chasing after yours. He’s squeezing you to him, waist pulled in so close he can barely think straight.
You wrap your arms around his neck, urging him closer, and Luffy tilts his head, fingers breaching the hem of your shirt to caress your skin. You whimper, so delightfully desperate that Luffy pushes against you, tongue swiping across your bottom lip.
He loves the noise—the neediness lacing your tone that he’s only ever heard you use towards him. Every time he’s been unimaginably close to you, he’d notice the way you’d stare at him, full of want and unadulterated longing that it fogs his brain and tightens his heart down to his stomach.
And how you’d whisper his name, like you did back in the forest, even though you were bleeding out. You were staring at his lips and he thought you were going to kiss him, and he realised that in that moment, he wanted to, too. And he would’ve. If you hadn’t passed out immediately after.
Then after he’d taken you to Chopper and you recovered, you pulled away, secluding yourself in the kitchen with Sanji, pretty much all day.
But, now.
Luffy gets to kiss you. He giggles into your mouth, something light bubbling away in his chest.
You pull away from him, breathing heavily. “Why did you do that?”
“Because you wanted to.”
“But did you want to?”
He thinks about you; his crewmate, nakama, friend. Someone he trusts with his life. Had gone through the biggest ups and downs of his life with you. Then he thinks about kissing you, of how many times he’d wanted to in the past, even before the forest. “Yeah.” And because he can, he pulls you in for another kiss, and he feels you smiling against his lips.
When you part this time, it’s his turn to ask a question. “Why didn’t you just kiss me when you wanted to?”
“Because it’s weird,” you say as if it’s common sense. “You can’t just kiss a friend out of nowhere.”
“But we’re not just friends. We’re… different.”
“Different?” you echo.
“The way I feel about you, and us, it’s different from how I feel about the others. It’s just different with you.”
You swallow and Luffy watches your throat move. “So, you’re saying, I could have kissed you, at any time, in the past few months, and you would have been okay with it?”
Luffy nods. “Yep.”
You purse your lips. “Oh, dear Lord,” you mutter under your breath, “Zoro was right.”
“About what?”
“He said I should’ve just asked you—I thought he was being daft.”
Luffy laughs, and you smile up at him, drinking in the noise. “You’re silly.”
You nod, before double taking as you catch sight of something over his shoulder.
Luffy looks up too.
There’s another sprig of mistletoe dangling from under the mast, metres high above your head.
“Don’t,” you say, before Luffy can react, “eat it this time.”

rough days (poly!marauders x reader)
requested by anon | navigation
After graduating from Hogwarts with your boyfriends, things were going great. The four of you moved into a flat together, Sirius and James had started their Auror careers at the Ministry of Magic, and Remus was working towards becoming a Professor. You were taking your time in finding what you wanted to do and, as part of that, you had taken up a job in the Muggle world.
The job paid well (although it was a pain to convert the currencies) and was giving you good experience, but some days, like today, were tough. It was just after the holidays and everyone seemed to have a problem with something that they bought, either wanting to exchange it or return it, and many had strong attitudes instead of the receipts they needed. Your coworkers made things harder by choosing to slack off in the break room, leaving you alone to face the mob.
You’d even skipped lunch, unable to convince anyone to take over for you. By the time the day was over, you were mentally and physically fatigued, and wanted nothing more than to curl up with your boys at home.
Entering your apartment, you were saddened to see that the lights were off, meaning that you were the first one home. You knew the boys had demanding careers and had to work late, but it was still a little disappointing. Not in a particularly good mood, you managed to change into James’ sweater and Remus’ sweatpants before grabbing one of Sirius’ fluffy blankets. You curled up on the couch, turning on a random movie, and tried to get lost in it. You weren’t paying attention, so it was quite easy for you to drift off to sleep . . .
One of the perks of their Auror jobs was definitely being able to go home together. James and Sirius were cheerful as they got home after a successful day of training. They got even happier when they saw the lights on. “Y/N?” Sirius called out, knowing you often got home before Remus.
James headed into the living room, only to spot you fast asleep. He quickly ducked back out to the main hallway. “Asleep on the couch,” he told his boyfriend.
“Asleep?” Sirius echoed, following James back in. It wasn’t a common thing for you to fall asleep or nap in the middle of the day like this.
James plucked the remote off the coffee table and turned off the television.
“Hey, this is my blanket,” Sirius observed as he walked around the couch, then knelt down next to you. “And your sweater . . . Rem’s sweatpants.” He peered up at James, who had turned around a now, exchanging a look.
They knew that you loved to steal their clothes, especially when you were feeling crummy.
“I knew it was gonna be a hard day after the holidays,” James murmured, keeping his voice quiet as he knelt next to Sirius.
“Must’ve been tired,” Sirius agreed.
The two observed you for a moment, taking in your peaceful demeanor. At the very least, they were glad that you were resting now.
“I’m thinking we should make this place all cozy and cook Y/N’s favorite meal,” Sirius said, running his hand through your hair gently.
“Sounds like a plan,” James agreed, fixing the blanket.
They stood and went off to complete their mission (after changing into comfortable clothing). James began the task of figuring out how to cook while Sirius gathered every fluffy blanket and pillow in the flat. Then, when James nearly dropped a million things in the fridge, Sirius had to go over to help them. Together they managed as much as possible and, halfway through, Remus came home.
“Hey!” He announced, prompting James and Sirius to come running in.
“Shh!” They said simultaneously (almost louder than Remus had been).
The sandy-haired boy stared at them quizzically until they pointed at the count. He craned his long neck towards the couch, getting sight of you just as you started to wake up.
“Hmm,” you mumbled sleepily, sitting up and glancing around.
Immediately, the three softened up. “Hey, love,” Remus cooed, walking over.
“What are you doing?” You asked.
Suddenly, Sirius grabbed James by the collar of the shirt. “The food!” He said, and the two ran back into the kitchen.
Remus chuckled, turning his attention to you. “I have no idea,” he said, sitting down next to you. “How was your day? You were asleep.”
You sighed, leaning into Remus. “Hell on earth. Everyone was so annoying,” you huffed.
“Aww, babe,” Remus said, wrapping his arm around you and kissing your forehead. “I’m sorry. You know what, I think those two idiots might be catching on. I think I can smell your favorite meal.”
You smiled, nuzzling your head into Remus’s neck. “That’s nice,” you mumbled.
Remus rubbed your arm, sighing. “I’m sorry your day was crappy. Let us take care of you, okay?” He said, knowing you could be quite stubborn when you wanted to be.
Still in the daze of sleepiness and feeling quite loved, you nodded, curling up to him. Remus watched you for a moment, thinking that you worked so hard and didn’t deserve those crappy customers, and stayed with you even as James carried in the food and Sirius carried in the blankets.
“Your comfy, cozy night awaits, your royal highness!” James announced, making you grin at him. He set up the food for the four of you while Sirius practically trapped you with the blankets, making you giggle.
Remus turned on the television, finding a classic Muggle movie to watch. James and Sirius sat beside you, both of them arguing over who actually had the honor of sitting next to you.
The night carried on with great food, warm blankets, and a fun movie. While you appreciated it very much, having your boyfriends by your side was the best part. You ended up falling asleep in their arms and they took it upon themselves to call in sick for you at your job and for theirs as well. The next day was Friday, meaning you all got an early start to a weekend where they spoiled you and doted on your endlessly.

HIT ME UP
Tumblr media
[URGENT; 11/23] PALESTINE.
PAIRING. wonwoo x reader (f)
GENRE. fluff, college!au
WORDCOUNT. 1k
WARNINGS. i think there’s one (1) expletive, wonwoo is not good at speaking on the phone
A/N. happy holidays and long time (loooong long time) no see! i can’t believe how quickly time has passed and i don’t know how long i’ll be back (though as always i have multiple works-in-progress rn) but for now enjoy this spur-of-the-moment piece i wrote while avoiding studying for my final that’s today. this is unedited! there could be typos and grammatical errors >.<
LISTEN TO. “hit me up” by omar apollo, dominic fike, & kenny beats.
Tumblr media
Wonwoo knew it wasn’t a good idea to mention you to his roommate. Because now all Soonyoung wants to do is force Wonwoo to make the first move, something that A) wouldn’t end well and B) will never happen in the first place. Wonwoo would rather suffer an untimely death than be the one to initiate anything. And that’s saying something considering this final paper he was working on right now felt pretty much like death.
“Just call her. Hit her up and go, ‘I’m in love with you, please go out with me or else I’ll throw myself out the window.’” Soonyoung purposely pitches his voice up an octave.
“One,” Wonwoo types away on his laptop, paying no attention to his meddling roommate, “My voice sounds nothing like that. And two, throwing myself out the window isn’t as grave of a repercussion when you remember we live on the first floor.”
Soonyoung sighs. “Okay, how about starting small? Ask her out to dinner or something. Something simple and easy.”
Wonwoo fakes a laugh. “Bold of you to assume that’s easy. There’s nothing easy about calling the girl you like and asking her on a date.”
“You don’t even have to do the first part. I can call her, and all you have to do is ask her out.”
Soonyoung’s offer gets ignored as Wonwoo continues to stare at the half-empty word document on his laptop screen. Knowing his roommate won’t let up until he acquiesces in some way, Wonwoo absentmindedly agrees, saying something like, “Sure. Do whatever you want.”
“Okay.”
“Okay.” Wonwoo echoes his roommate and the room descends into silence. Ah, peace and quiet. Something that almost never happens with Soonyoung in the room-
It’s too quiet.
The gravity of the situation doesn’t sink in until he spots Soonyoung a few steps away, Wonwoo’s phone in hand, your contact name pulled up. And Soonyoung’s ring-adorned finger hovering over the “Call” button.
Wonwoo fumbles for the phone, but Soonyoung yanks it out of reach. Wonwoo can only stand in frozen terror as his roommate presses the button for speakerphone and the ringing drones on.
He’s further cemented to his spot when you actually pick up.
“Hello? Wonwoo?” The line crackles as your voice fills the room. Your voice sounds different on the phone - a little deeper, a little more hushed as though this was a private conversation. It was supposed to be a private conversation.
Wonwoo’s stunned silence would have continued if it were not for Soonyoung swatting at his shoulder. Talk to her, his roommate mouths. “Uhm, yeah, hi.” His voice threatens to crack at the end of his sentence, and he clears his throat.
“Hey.” There’s a hint of bemusement in your voice. “Is everything okay?”
“Yeah, yeah, everything’s fine. Sorry for the call, I usually don’t do that, -“
“-Yeah, I got a little confused,” you confess with a breathy laugh. “I wasn’t sure if something was wrong, and even if so I would’ve expected a cryptic text first.”
God, he loves your sense of humor. Wonwoo forces a chuckle. “Yeah, yeah, sorry. So, uh. What’s up?”
There’s a beat of silence from you. He can hear your amusement when you echo back his question. “‘What’s up?’”
Soonyoung facepalms. But he’s at least brought Wonwoo’s phone down to an attainable level now, so Wonwoo takes the opportunity to retrieve it.
He immediately presses the button to remove you from the speakerphone and brings the phone to his ear. “Sorry, sorry, I got sidetracked. This is why I send my cryptic texts.” Your laugh on the other end affirms Wonwoo in his defusing of the situation, and so he continues. “When did you say you were heading back home again?”
“Saturday afternoon. Why, what’s up?”
Fuck it, here goes nothing. Wonwoo takes a deep breath. “The reason why I was calling you is because I was wondering if you wanted to go grab something to eat before you leave to celebrate the end of finals but if you aren’t able to that’s okay.”
Wonwoo ignores the way Soonyoung is staring him down with an incredulous look on his face. Wonwoo is pretty sure he’s red in the face right now.
Once again, more silence on your end. Wonwoo thinks maybe the call has disconnected (or maybe you were so offended by his proposal that you hung up), and he’s about to bring the phone away from his face to check his screen when you finally respond.
“That’s the most I’ve heard you say in one go.” Once again, you’re laughing, and Wonwoo’s worries dissipate. He’s still nervous, of course, especially considering you haven’t actually answered to his offering yet, but something about your laidback nature really puts him at ease. It almost makes him think that even if you said no, he’d be okay-
“I’d love to grab food with you. Did you want to do Friday night or Saturday morning?”
What.
Wonwoo’s roommate has since crept closer to him, head leaning in on the other side of the phone to listen in on the conversation. Soonyoung is just as shell-shocked as Wonwoo is when you say yes.
“Mm, uh,” Wonwoo clears his throat, “Friday night works for me. I’ll be free from my last final by then.”
“Sick! Me too. I can’t wait to be free from the grips of biochem after Friday afternoon.” There’s rustling on your end, likely you getting up and moving around. “I have to head back to studying right now, but we can text as it gets closer to figure out specifics?”
“Sure. Sounds good.” Wonwoo’s throat has gone dry.
Soonyoung has decided at this point that his job is done, and he walks away from Wonwoo with a fist pumping in the air as though his favorite soccer team just won the World Cup.
Wonwoo returns his full attention to you. He can hear your grin when you say, “Great. Oh, and Wonwoo?”
He expects there to be a caveat, a “but” at the end of your acceptance. “Hm?”
“You should call me more often.”

Over spilled coffee
(tom blyth x reader)
summary: you accidentally spill coffee over a man, can it be coincidence or just pure luck that he's sitting next to you on a 8 hour flight?
Tumblr media
a/n: i've had this concept stuck in my head for days. hope you like it! send requests!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
📖🩵🦢🌱🍵🏔⭐️
4:00 am is not my ideal time of the day to wake up to, but going to the airport makes it worth it. My flight to London is in five hours and I'm already at the check-in box, waiting for the airport staff to give me my boarding pass.
After going through customs and security checks, I decide to pass the time at a little coffee shop near my gate. I order an iced coffe and patiently wait by the kitchen island. Going back to my life in London feels amazing after spending the holidays with my family. No more gossip or body shaming me for at least a year!
The barista interrupts my thoughts when she shouts, indicating my coffee was ready. I start to walk towards my precious drink while another man does the same. As I reach the coffee cup, I realize it isn't mine, but when I try to turn around, the man with his beverage in hand blocks my view and the coffee slips from his hand. The dark liquid stains his grey t-shirt completely.
- Oh God! - I say - I'm so, so sorry, sir! -
-It's fine - he looks at me with an angry gaze - I'll just change -
- How can I repay you?- I ask full of regret - Can I buy you another one?-
The man lifts his head and I realize how gorgeous he is. I'm such a moron. He lifts his hand and waves my suggestions away. He's still looking annoyingly at me when he turns around and goes to the men's toilet. Fuck.
————————------• ♡ •------————————
The hours have passed I'm comfortably seated in the plane, window seat secured. New York to London, eight hours to relax and sl- oh no. The guy from the café is right in front of me. He observs his surroundings before settling his eyes on me.
-Oh. - He frowns at me - Hi again- he says. And I catch a subtle english accent
-Hi- I say weakly -What a coincidence, huh?-
-Sure is - responds, lifting his eyebrows sarcastically.
We don't exchange any more words until after the security talk the flight attendants give us. I can't believe I shat my chance at hitting on this beautiful man just because I wanted my stupid coffee, so I start the conversation again.
- Hey, I'm truly sorry for what happened- i say, trying to express my guilt - I see you managed to change your clothes!-
He softens his gaze a notch this time and thanks me.
- I'm sorry too, I shouldn't have reacted like that -
- It's understantable, I would have done the same thing- I smile at him - All good?-
He flashes me a flirty grin. - Everything's good.-
- Good! - I feel relieved - So, London? -
- Yes, work -he answers - I'm staying for a few weeks and then I'm travelling to Birmingham-
-Oh, that's nice - I say- Do you have family there?-
-I do, actually. What about you?-
-I live in London, I'm coming back from my parents house-
-Great - we stare at each other awkwardly - So, what do you do?-
-Oh, I'm a writer - I tell him - You?-
-I'm an actor!- he cheerfully says
-You do look familiar- I laugh - Sorry, what's your name?-
-Oh, right. My name's Tom. Tom Blyth.-
-You played Billy the Kid?- I ask, surprised by his words
-Yes, I did- he smiles appreciative.
-I loved that series! That's why I thought I'd seen you before. Oh, I'm Y/N, by the way. Y/L/N.-
- I haven't heard of you yet, Ms. Y/L/N - he observs
-It's because I'm in the middle of publishing my debut book, actually- I admit.
-When's it gonna come out?- a different accent slios out. Brooklyn, I think.
-Probably in October-
-I'll be waiting for it- he smiles.
The chemistry between us sparked like fireworks. It was so easy to talk to him. We spent all of the flight talking and discussing over things we loved. I didn't want this moment to end.
————————------• ♡ •------————————
The eight hours flew by very quickly, in my opinion, and it was time to say goodbye to my seat-mate.
-I had so much fun today - he tells me - I'm glad you spilled that coffee over me-
-You're funny. But I'm glad, too.-
We grin sweetly at each other, and I was about to part from him when he started talking once more.
-When can I see you again? - he asked, and I'm sure I fell for him right there.
-Anytime you'd like-
————————------• ♡ •------————————
Almost a year went by and we're in very difficult circumstances. Tom has become the interent boyfriend after starring in the new hunger games prequel. And I have sold over 5 million copies of my book in 2 weeks, making my way into a New York Times' bestseller. Life couldn't get any better.

Unconditionally, uncontrollably, undoubtedly (Rose Lavelle x Reader)
So it's been a really long, stressful few weeks, I lost my motivation/energy to write. However, I'm lucky enough to be in the same time zone as the world cup which has definitely given my motivation back. With my upcoming holiday and moving, sorry to say this is probably going to be the last fic I post for at least a month.
First time writing for Rose, hope you enjoy :)
Words: 1.1K
Between media, training, recovery and exploring with the girls, it had been an incredibly long week. You would think with how exhausted I was, sleep would be coming easy, but it wasn't. I missed sleeping next to my girlfriend. Knowing she was only a few doors down didn't help. Of course Rose and I still spent time with each other, it just wasn't as much. Tiredness and missing my girlfriend turned into grumpiness which became obvious to the team at training when I practically ignored everyone or gave one word answers. Even to Rose.
Once training had ended, I skipped team bonding deciding to go float in the pool instead. It was relaxing and I knew no one would look for me there except maybe Rose. After maybe half an hour there was a disturbance in the water making me look over to find Rose crouching down next to the pool.
"Hey."
I swam over, leaning up to peck her lips, "Hey yourself."
"Glad to see you're not mad at me."
"Sorry about today, I was just grumpy in general not at anyone in particular."
"I noticed, everyone noticed actually. Do you want to come watch a movie in my room with me?"
"Can't promise I'll last a whole movie but I would love that. Let me go shower quickly and get changed, I'll meet you there?"
"Deal."
When Rose opened the door, I was met with a dim room lit only by fairy lights and the TV. There were flowers lying on the bedside table, my favourite pasta and chocolate waiting on the table. Rose stood next to me, playing with her fingers as a nervous smile appeared. It was understandable. While I had never really snapped at Rose because I was tired, I hated doing stuff when I was this exhausted. Preferring to either just watch tv or go to sleep with very little conversation. However, at this point I would do pretty much anything to spend time with Rose. My heart fluttered at the fact she had done this for me. I wrapped my arms around her, kissing the top of her head. "What's all this?"
"You get grumpy when you're tired or stressed. I know we haven't had a lot of time together and like me you're probably struggling to sleep. So I thought we were overdue for a date night. I know you don't li-"
"I love it Rose. I love you. You know me too well."
She smiled proudly, kissing my cheek, "I love you Y/n. Coach gave us permission to have a sleep over tonight since tomorrows an off day. He also said he doesn't mind if we do it more often as long as it's only on days off. "
"Really?"
"Really. When I said everyone noticed your grumpiness, I meant everyone."
"Thank you Rosie. I really needed this."
"I know. So did I."
Rose picked up the flowers, holding them out to me, "These are for you."
"They're beautiful, I love them. Thank you."
Rose took my hand, leading me over to the table. She had lit a few candles, spread a few rose petals over the table and set the table nicely with my favourite pasta, some garlic bread and a wine glass of cranberry juice. Maybe odd combination, but it was my favourite. I cupped Roses cheek, kissing her with as much love and passion as I could. I loved this girl more than I ever thought was possible.
When we had first started seeing each other, I wasn't really that into her. She was nice enough, she just wasn't my type. My friend had set us up and really wanted me to at least try, claiming that we had a lot in common. It turns out the only real thing we had in common was our love for dogs and soccer, but Rose had actually been interested in hearing about my interests and learning more about them. It had been a long time since anyone was so interested try some of their hobbies from time to time what I was saying so despite not being into her, I had agreed to a second then a third date. To this day, 6 years later, that was the best decision I had ever made. The more we saw each other, the more I fell for her. Now I couldn't imagine my life without her. Turns out you don't need a lot in common with someone to be with them, you just need to be willing to listen.
After eating, we just sat and talked for a while. Something that we hadn't had much time for over the last few weeks. It was the most I had been able to relax since the world cup started. I knew there was still a long way to go, there would be more sleepless nights, less time together and stress, but it felt like a weight had been lifted and I could breathe again.
One of Rose's favourite songs started playing quietly from my phone, making her smile widely. I held my hand out, Rose quickly taking it without hesitation. I spun her around, giggles spilling out as my arm wrapped around her waist, the other still holding her hand. Rose looped her arm around my shoulder, pecking my lips quickly. "You don't like dancing."
"Maybe not, but here, with you, it's my second favourite thing in the world."
"Second? What's the first?"
"You. No matter how many dogs we may get, it will always be you. 6 years ago, I made the best decision of my life when I agreed to go out with you. You've changed my life in a way I never expected. I can't imagine a day where I don't get to see your smile, hear your laugh or your voice. I look forward to the day when there's no more travel or nights apart, where we wake up and go to sleep together every single day. Those are my favourite times of the day, no matter what the day will or has brought, they never fail to bring a smile to my face. This isn't how I planned to do this. Actually, I didn't have a plan, all I knew was it would happen sometime during the world cup when the time was right. There's never been a time that's felt more right than now."
I pulled out the ring that had been accompanying me everywhere we went for the last month or so, just waiting for the right time. A hand covered her mouth, the other clutching mine. I dropped down to one knee, only letting go of her hand for a second to open the box before finding it again.
"Unconditionally, uncontrollably, undoubtedly, I love you Rose Lavelle. Will you marry me?"
Rose fell onto her knees in front of me, holding me tightly, warm drops falling against my neck, "Yes, yes I'll marry you. What is it you said? Unconditionally, uncontrollably, undoubtedly, I love you Y/n Y/l/n."

Strange Christmas Family Swap
Christmas is supposed to be the time of year where you celebrate joy with your family and loved ones. But everyone has that one family member no one looks forward to seeing, and I’m no different. For me that person would be my grandpa. He'd always been a really cranky guy who, I swear, could find something to complain about on literally any topic. I don't know why he even comes over for the holidays in the first place. Maybe he's just lonely? At least my siblings are coming home. They're all older than me and left for college years ago. Sometimes I felt like I was behind everyone just because I was the youngest, but they always tell me to enjoy being young while it lasted. At least I still had my dog, Lucy, to keep me company.
Tumblr media
“Shoot. Ferris, we forgot to buy your grandpa a present,” my mom mentioned while preparing dinner for Christmas Eve.
“Does it matter? He's not gonna like anything anyway.”
“Yes I know. But it's Christmas. The time of year where you need to treat even those you dislike well. Could you quickly go to that gift shop and buy some cheap ornament?”
“Mom, it's Christmas Eve! Half these places are closed or closing soon.” She looked up a store on her phone and showed me that it closed at 5. It was 4:38.
“There's that one hallmark store within walking distance still open. You can make it in time! I just don't want to cause a scene.” I wanted to take the car, but it would take too long to shovel all the snow, so I walked. The store wasn't that far by foot, but it was still an awful time in the freezing cold. When I arrived, there was a single employee at the counter - an old lady with a messy bun. She greeted me and asked what I needed.
“I have just the thing.” She walked over to the shelf and showed me a little Santa ornament that was wearing a galaxy pattern suit instead of the regular red. It was actually a pretty good gift because my grandpa loved outer space, not to mention he kinda looked like Santa anyway, just without the beard.
“This is perfect.”
“Then why do you look sad?” Her response caught me by surprise. “What do you mean?”
“I can tell something’s wrong. It's Christmas Eve. You should be happy!”
“That's probably easy for others. But for me, Christmas means family time and I don't exactly like someone in my family.
“That's a shame. You're lucky to have a family at least.” She looked down at the floor sadly. It was clear what she meant by that.
“But since you still have people in your life I'd like to help you with your problem. Could I have that ornament back please?” I assumed she was about to check me out so I started reaching for my wallet, when she walked into the backroom with the present instead. As soon as the door closed, the power suddenly went out and I was in pure darkness until there was a weird purple glow coming from the door. All of this only lasted about 10 seconds and the power came back on as if nothing happened. Did I just imagine that whole thing? It was weird. The woman walked back out with a big smile on her face.
“Did the power go out or something? And what happened in there?”
“Oh nothing,” she said with a grin. “Merry Christmas!”
“Yeah, Merry Christmas. I guess.” She checked me out and I was on my way back home.
When I arrived, my siblings were already there, as well as my grandpa.
“Hey! It's Ferris!” said my oldest brother Calvin. He had definitely gained a lot of weight since I last saw him, even though he was an athlete in college. Looks like he still refused to shave the messy beard he started last year. My older sibling Sam grinned at me. They looked exactly as they always did - expressing their love of anime with a nerdy t-shirt and wearing ear gauges that have gotten bigger since the last time I saw them. My sister Em walked up to hug me. She was always the one I was closest with, since she was only 2 years older than me.
“I got a present for Grandpa.” He suddenly looked at me, and then to the bag I was holding.
Tumblr media
“It's about time you buy me something! Lemme see.”
“Well not until Christmas.” Despite living to see many Christmases, Grandpa was still an extremely impatient person. He'd actually opened up his Christmas presents early before because he just couldn't stand the wait. This was my first time buying one myself for him (even though it was really just my mom sending me) so I guess he was beyond curious.
“Come on. It's basically Christmas anyway.” He got his large ass out of the seat and approached me. He was wearing a tucked in blue plaid shirt that covered the gut hanging over his pants. He stumbled over to me until we were face to face. I could smell the cigarette smoke on his breath, almost making my eyes water.
“Boy, give me the gift.”
“Dad, just wait until Christmas. You're gonna spoil the surprise.” My mom thankfully defended me and started walking over.
“Fine, but I-” He faked content and snatched the bag from me.
“Dad! Enough!” My mom shouted but it was too late. He had taken the ornament out of the bag, but clumsily dropped it. It shattered all over the floor before he even had a chance to react.
“Oh man.” Sam gulped.
“Now look at what you've done! You ruined my present!” Grandpa yelled in my face.
“Dad! Dad! Calm down. I think you need to go to bed now.”
“Fine! But only because your idiot son ruined my Christmas!” My mom escorted him to the guest room and Em picked up a broom. We both swept together as my mom walked back into the kitchen.
“Could he possibly be more…you know…” I started.
“Horrible? Pathetic?” Calvin added.
“Gross? Nasty?” Sam added.
“Your grandfather is just lonely really. His parents - my grandparents - let him do whatever he wanted. He's a real spoiled man. But I don't think there's any changing him now so let's just endure the day tomorrow and you won't have to see him for a while. Got it?”
“Fine.” The rest of the night was much better and I had a great time with my family. Calvin scarfed down the food so fast he almost choked, Em told me all about what college was like, Sam bragged about his new gauges, and Lucy practically flew under the table as soon as my mom dropped a piece of ham.
When it was time for bed, my siblings got settled into their rooms - Calvin and Sam sharing the same bedroom they did growing up, and Em sleeping in the basement because her old room was turned into an office. I looked at the Christmas tree glimmering with lights and decorations, excited to see what the presents underneath it would look like in the morning. It's a shame that Grandpa's present broke and we had to throw it away, but I guess he got what he deserved for being such a dick. I headed into my bed, where Lucy was already snuggled up in, and nestled up under the covers.
The next morning I woke up to the sounds of shouting, which was unfitting for what was supposed to be a peaceful Christmas morning. It was coming from the room next to me and sounded like my brothers, which was weird because my room was across the hall from them. But it sounded so close. I started getting up, to see what was going on, but when I looked around, I realized I actually was in the guest room
How did I get in here? I gazed down to find my stomach seemed swollen in my white tank top. I lifted it up and to my horror, I realized my slim chest was replaced with a flabby belly! How did I get so fat? I know I ate alot last night but this was ridiculous! The gut flopped out, to a bit over my waist. It felt weird knowing a part of my body was just hanging there. I noticed a bit of chest hair, which was foreign to me, but when I noticed they were gray hairs, it finally hit me. I was a fat old guy in the guest room. I somehow switched bodies with my grandpa!
I heard the voices leave the room so I stumbled over to the door, not quite used to the shift in weight compared to my old twink body, and was about to put my hand on the doorknob when I saw someone looking at me in the mirror. I turned my head to find that it was my grandpa…I mean me…staring back.
Tumblr media
I really did look disgusting, not just because of my looks, but because I now had the face of an impatient jerk. I tried doing different facial expressions; it looked weird because I rarely had ever seen my grandpa smile at all. I noticed that I couldn't see my own dick past the belly, not that I would want to. It was probably all wrinkly and gross! What was I going to do? I opened the door to find Calvin walking to the living room. He looked pretty concerned, which was unusual for the carefree personality he usually had.
“Hey uh..Grandpa?” Fuck. Looks like I'm not imagining it after all. I hated this. “Sorry for the noise, it's just that…”
“I'm not even gonna try to pretend.” I spoke, but my voice came out gravelly and deep. It scared me a little bit. “I'm Ferris, not Grandpa. I don't know how it happened! I just-”
“Shit! That's great! I mean not because you're Grandpa now. But because I'm not alone! I'm actually Sam.”
“Sam?” It was actually kinda funny, Sam and Calvin switching bodies. They were close but still completely different people. I couldn't contain my laughter and started giggling, even though it came out as my Grandpa's gruff wheezes.
“Oh sure. I'M the funny one when Mister-wheeze-a-lot can't laugh without sounding like he's dying.”
“Hey! Well Mister-” I stopped myself trying to continue the joke. “Wait, how does that work?”
“The gender is all up to the person. Sure the…” they stared down at the new extra pounds they now carried and shook their belly. “...expression might be different, at least at the moment, but I'm still me. BUT the idiot who looks like me doesn't seem to understand.” As if on cue, Calvin in Sam's body appeared, walking in a macho way, something that Sam would never do.
“Check it out Grandpa! I'm an enby!” Sam gave a huge facepalm.
“Calvin my sweet brother, We. Have. Been. Over. This.”
“Hey whatever. I think it's cool. My face feels so empty though. Maybe I'll start growing a bea-” Sam cut him off right there.
“If you go out there without a clean shaven face, I'm shaving YOUR beard.”
“God no please. It took me like a year to grow that!” Calvin pleaded.
“Hey hey, what about me?!” I interrupted their arguing.
“Oh yeah,” Sam started. “That's not Grandpa. It's Ferris.”
“Oh man Ferris. You're a fucking old dude now!” exclaimed Calvin. He then poked my new belly. “Welcome to the chub club! Well…” He glaced down at Sam's slim figure. “My membership is on hold for now.”
Just then we heard a scream coming from my mom's room. We quickly opened the door, already knowing what happened. We found my mom staring at the mirror with a look of pure horror on her face.
“It's ok Em, we're all body swapped too.” She seemed to calm down when she realized that she wasn't alone in all this.
“Weird case of Freaky Friday here. Especially with Em….and Mom,” added Calvin. Just then my mom, in Em's body, walked in to join in the confusion.
“Well this is awkward. Two of my kids in each other's bodies, my own son in my dad's and I'm in my own daughter's body. Could this Christmas get any crazier?”
“Where's Grandpa?”
“Probably still sleeping.”
We headed over to my room, expecting him to still be asleep, only to find him flexing in the mirror - in my body. I didn't actually have any real muscles, being a skinny twink, so he didn't really have anything to flex. That didn't stop him from admiring himself. When he noticed us, he walked over smiling. It was a creepy sight, not only to see my body move on its own, but also knowing it's my grandpa inside there smiling.
Tumblr media
“Hello everyone. It's good to be young again!”
“Uh hey Grandpa.” He looked right at me. “No, no! Call me Boris! YOU'RE the grandpa now!”
I felt so humiliated. He was actually…cool…in my body! And I was just the fat old guy that nobody liked!
“Dad, we need to figure out what happened so you can become your old self again. Ok?”
“Hell no! I'm young again for the first time in years. No way I'm giving away this opportunity!”
“I got it!” Em suddenly exclaimed. We all turned around wondering what she meant. She showed us her phone - or rather my mom's phone.
“What?”
“How we all swapped bodies! That ornament that Ferris got! There's an ancient artifact that can take on different appearances. It says it's been known to cause mischief when broken.”
“What kind of ancient thing is meant to be broken? How has it lasted this long then?”
“That's the thing. Everytime it breaks, it finds a new place and takes on a new appearance. But it always takes on the appearance of an object that its next victim will need.”
“Shit. And that's why the present seemed perfect for Grandpa.”
“Hey! I got a much better gift than any of you!” cheered my grandpa as he flexed his arms once agaih.
“But…how do we find it again?”
“Y-you don't. Unless you want to search the whole world for something you don't even know what it looks like.”
There was a deafening silence after she spoke those words. We all realized the truth was that we would never return to our old bodies. I was stuck as an old man forever!
“Hey, it's not so bad,” my grandpa started, seemingly reading my mind. He leaned over and lifted up my shirt, exposing my gut, and slapped it. “The belly is pretty comfy after all. You'll love it.” Maybe he was right. I'm sure I could make the silver bear look work. As I thought about that, I noticed a bulge starting to form. Grandpa turned to look at everyone with a huge smile on his face.
“Merry Christmas everyone!”

Hey, a fellow humane society worker here! (Not Paldean though, I work at a smaller one over at Flocessy Town, Unova) And apologies for using your ask box to get this out to more people, but this needs to be said.
With Easter coming up in like a month over here in Unova (I doubt you guys in Paldea celebrate it), PLEASE for the love of Arc and everything that is holy, DO NOT ADOPT A POKEMON LIKE SCORBUNNY, BUNNELBY, AND ESPECIALLY BUNEARY IF YOU ARE NOT OR CAN NOT TAKE CARE OF IT!!!
We already are swamped enough coming off our yearly Applin intake from Valentines, but having so many Buneary, Bunnelby, and the occasional Scorbunny dumped on us because people adopt them as an "Easter Pokémon" and then quickly find out that they aren't able to properly take care of them.
I kid you not, I have at least two or three broken ribs per year because of Bunearys alone. And small side tangent about Buneary, do not go and adopt them just because they're cute. Contrary to what you think, they will not love you almost immediately. Just because they evolve via friendship, doesn't mean that they will make it easy for you. In reality they are highly territorial, easily angered, and tremendously stubborn Pokémon. So please DO YOUR ARC DAMN RESEARCH! No matter what time of year it is you're looking to adopt. Sincerely, every single humane society and shelter worker in existence. (Apologies again, Charlie!)
oh, dude, i totally get it. we've gotten our share of easter bunnelby and scorbunny, since kalos and galar aren't too far and easter is a huge holiday in paldea. thankfully we don't see many buneary, since they're definitely the hardest to care for in a shelter. i would never let a volunteer handle one- and i'd DEFINITELY never give one to a child to take care of.
this also extends to easter ducklett and torchic. i'm so thankful for our local farmers who help us foster the inevitable influx of the poor little guys after easter.

Happy Valentine's Day!! Have some steddie angst where Eddie forgets about the holiday entirely 🥰 this is part 1!
Eddie would like it on record that he is a really good fucking boyfriend.
He takes Steve out, gets him flowers, brings him shiny rocks and snail shells that he thinks are interesting. He cooks for him. He lets him pick the movie for movie night more often than not.
All in all, he's damn good to Steve. Attentive. Caring. Loving.
But none of that means shit when he sits down after a long day at work to do some DnD planning, well after 9 pm, writes the date in the corner of the page, and then sits and stares at it for a solid minute.
February 14.
"FUCK."
-
It started on Friday, not that Eddie was aware of it.
He knows it’s February. He knows Valentine’s is coming up. He knows his baby is a romantic, knows he needs to plan something, he’s excited to plan something. But Valentine’s is, like, mid-February. He has time, right? So much time. He’s not sure what today’s date is, but there’s definitely time.
“Hey,” Steve says, and he’s got that fond, sweet little smile tugging at his lips, and Eddie can’t help but smile right back.
“Hey yourself,” he says, though he knows Steve was just trying to get his attention. He leans in, brushing his lips against Steve’s. His baby laughs, smiling against his mouth, but he pulls away before Eddie’s ready for him to.
“When are you free on Tuesday?” Steve asks, and Eddie’s brain stalls for a minute.
He’s never free on Tuesday. Ever since he put his life of crime (see: selling illicit substances to minors and getting himself accused of murder because of it) to an end, he’s been on the straight and narrow. It has some perks, to be sure, and a main one is a regular schedule. He usually works a double on Tuesdays at the record store, and it’s murder being there all day, but he’s confident putting in the work or whatever’s gonna get him that promotion to manager. Manager means salary which means being able to afford rent somewhere, and while his and Wayne’s digs got upgraded as a “sorry you were accused of murder and almost eaten to death” present from the government, he’d still like to be able to get his own place. Privacy is important, after all, especially when he’s seeing somebody like Steve.
Steve grew up in an empty house and never had to learn how to keep quiet, and while Eddie loves to make his boy scream, there are only so many times he can take having to avoid Wayne’s gaze at the breakfast table the next morning.
Point is, Eddie works a lot. Particularly on Tuesdays. Steve knows this, has Eddie’s schedule memorized for the most part, so Eddie’s brows draw together, but he doesn’t frown. His smile stays in place because Steve seems excited about something, and he has to try to let him down easy. It sucks, he hates disappointing Steve, but at least this is out of his control.
“I work late,” he says apologetically, “and then I got some Hellfire planning to do that night before our next session. Sorry, sweetheart.” He keeps his voice gentle and slips his fingers into Steve’s hair as he speaks to soften the blow.
It doesn’t work.
Steve looks confused for a moment, his pretty face scrunching up, his nose curling and his lips turning down, before a sudden and terrible look takes over his face.
Resignation. Disappointment. A flash of hurt, actually, and Eddie’s stomach gives a sharp little twist as Steve pulls away from him.
“Oh.”
It’s the worst sound Eddie’s ever heard in his life, and he’s abruptly off-kilter by it. He’s frantic. Has he forgotten something? Can’t be - their anniversary is in the summer. So is Steve’s birthday, it’s in July, and they’re currently smack in the middle of a good old-fashioned Indiana winter.
But Steve is sounding soft and hurt and disappointed in that way of his where he’s trying so hard to not show it, and Eddie frowns, worried.
“Why?” he asks, reaching for Steve, but Steve abruptly stands.
“No reason,” he says, and he puts his back to Eddie, busies his hands, makes a swift subject change that leaves Eddie twisted around enough that he lets it happen.
Eventually he forgets about the weird moment almost entirely, save for the discomfort twisting in his stomach. But what is he supposed to do? He could try to make Steve talk, but that’d just end in a fight. Steve will talk about it when he’s ready, Eddie’s sure of it. He just needs to be patient with his baby, and that’s the easiest thing in the world.
They go to bed without talking about it, which Eddie doesn’t love. Steve clings tight to him until he drifts off, and Eddie falls asleep with the distinct feeling that he’s missing something huge.

Me: says im 100% not going to write anymore of The Proposal AU. Also me: "but what if--" tagging @valiantstarlights, my partner in crime for this AU lmao
this is part 4, aka the engagement story. part three, two and one, if anyone is keeping track (its not in any actual order, we run on vibes only in this house).
-------------------
“Stop taking my hand!”
Dream slips his hand out of Hob’s with a pointed glare (and only a brief reflection of the instant warmth that shot up his arm from the touch). Hob, for his part, sighs with a barely contained eye roll.
“Sorry.” At least Hob sounds sincere, leaning in to speak quietly in Dream’s ear in the crowded room. “Force of habit, I guess. But you know…” He brushes his knuckles under the line of Dream’s jaw. “We are supposed to be engaged. Holding your hand is not the worst thing I could do to you.”
Dream’s skin prickles. “Is that a threat?”
Hob sighs again, a small smile tugging at his lips.
“It’s a tease. I’m teasing you.” He bumps his shoulder to Dream’s. “Lighten up. Have a drink.”
Perhaps Dream could do with a drink, especially if he’s actually thinking about what other debauchery Hob could get up to, outside of the limits of hand holding.
Snagging a beer out of the fridge, and forcing himself to smile as an aunt or grandma or someone comes up to him and starts asking him how he and Hob met.
They had developed this, on the flight here, to Hob’s surprisingly luxurious childhood home. The story wasn’t much of an exaggeration of the truth– they indeed worked together but had hidden feelings for each other and after years of dancing around each other, they finally realized they were crazy for one another.
It was easy enough to sell… perhaps not to the siblings who would loudly announce to Hob, “This is the same Dream who you bitched about on the phone? The one who didn’t let you come home for Thanksgiving last year? Who makes you go on coffee runs and harass writers?”
And Hob would shrug while Dream’s plastered on smile would sharpen to something deadly as he looked sideways at Hob.
“Ah, what can I say? I like a man who knows what he wants.”
It would appease his family, for now. Dream had a moment of realization himself.
He wasn’t aware Hob had such a large, welcoming family. His mother had immediately hugged Dream, smiling ear-to-ear, and Grandma Johanna had taken his hand and expressed to him how elated she was to finally see Hob settling down with “someone so handsome.” And now, at the welcome home party, everyone wanted a piece of Dream. To interrogate him or just meet him; meet the man who would make Hob honest. Who was now part of the family.
Dream had swallowed thickly. He wasn’t used to all the attention. Nor the care and playfulness of Hob’s family all around him. It was making him emotional and he didn’t know how much longer he could hover, an imposter among Hob’s fortunate family, with parents and siblings and aunts, uncles, and grandmother who all loved him and genuinely were excited that he was home for the holidays.
They all had no idea that it was all fake. Dream was a fraud. Hob and his relationship was purely transactional. The reality of Dream’s impulsive decision was finally crashing down around his ears and the room started to spin.
“Hey, you okay?”
Dream startled at Hob’s touch, no matter how gentle it was, on his shoulder.
“I’m fine. Why do you ask?” Dream bit out, blinking away the stinging in his eyes and going for a sip of his beer and scowling as he found it empty.
Hob’s hand, palm open, slid down Dream’s shoulders to his back, rubbing soothing circles between his shoulder blades.
“You look a little green.”
Dream huffed and tried not to relax into Hob’s soothing caress.
“This is all a little much,” Dream spoke honestly. “You didn’t tell me you had such a massive family.” Who love and are proud of you and are so quick to welcome me. So happy and eager to congratulate us and–
“Well, you never asked.” Hob replies simply, his hand dropping. Dream misses it immediately.
“Hey love birds!” Jo, Hob’s sister, pops up in their quiet space with a drink in her hands.
Dream tries not to jump at Jo’s sudden appearance, or bristle as she takes Dream’s left hand without permission to stare at the fake ring Hob and him had bought in the airport, realizing too late that they needed some kind of proof to their engagement.
Dream hoped Jo wasn’t some kind of jewelry appraisal. The silver band was simple, with a glass diamond inlay. Hob had a matching one. It cost them $30 each.
“I love the rings!” Jo gushed, thankfully dropping Dream’s hand before he could yank it back rudely. “Oh! You gotta tell us– who proposed to who?”
Dream can see the panic that crosses Hob’s eyes, which only grows larger with a nervous laugh as the family around them picks up on what Jo said and now everyone is interested in hearing the story.
Dream feels his heartbeat in his throat. They hadn’t discussed this. Hob and him had exchanged hobbies and interests and food preferences and allergies (Dream utterly bewildered at how much Hob already knew about him) but had somehow forgotten to build an engagement story.
“Oh, it’s not that interesting,” Hob laughs, an edge of hysteria to it. “Dream, honey, you were just mentioning that you wanted to rest–”
“Ah, c’mon!” Grandma Johanna prods, wiggling in her seat on the couch. “We’re all dying to hear it.”
“Yes, Hob.” Dream speaks with his own mischievous glint in his eyes. “I’d love to hear it from your perspective.”
Hob stares at Dream, utterly bewildered and then– Dream swallows nervously– his lips curl.
“Aw well, if my sweet Dream insists…” Hob takes up Dream’s left hand and kisses the top of it while maintaining eye contact and Dream’s pulse stutters.
“You’d never know it,” Hob starts, addressing the room, which the whole family has now congregated in. “But underneath this hard, prickly exterior–” he gestures with a wide sweep to Dream. “Is a big ‘ol softie.”
A round of tittering surrounds them. Dream stares at Hob, eyes widening as he suddenly realizes his mistake of giving Hob the reins. Putting him on the spot.
“He took me to the local carnival…”
Dream hates carnivals. The rides are rickety and dangerous and full of rowdy teenagers.
“... where I won him the biggest pink teddy bear in the darts game, after he begged me for it…” Hob turns to wiggle his nose in Dream’s face.
Dream feels his cheeks warm and jaw drop. He hates the color pink and would never beg for anything, let alone a stuffed animal–
Some family members are now studiously looking at Dream, seeing him in a new light, no doubt. And Dream nearly shakes with the indignity of it all. He doesn’t even know these people, but he will be staying with them for the next week and he absolutely will not lose face over Hob’s overactive imagination.
“And finally,” Hob grins at Dream, clearly having the time of his life putting his boss on the spot and Dream can only stand and wait for the punchline.
“We go on the ferris wheel– the sun is setting– all planned, I’m sure. And then–”
“And you kissed me,” Dream interrupts, causing all eyes to refocus on him. Dream swallows at the bewildered look on Hob’s face. “It was very romantic.”
He turns to address the room himself, feeling ridiculous but barling onward, leaning sideways onto Hob in a way, he hopes, is besotted.
“We walked off the ferris wheel to a group of carnies that Hob had hired, a quartet, to meet us and they sang ‘Cherish’ acapella.”
Hob’s brows shoot up into his hairline, stunned silent.
“The Madonna song?” Somebody asks, Dream thinks it’s Hob’s cousin, Fancis.
“The Association,” Dream spares them a glance and a vague gesture with his wrist. “It’s an oldie.”
Grandma Johanna puts her hand on her chest and makes a sound like, “t’aw.”
“And then,” Dream continues, delighted now to have the upper hand. “Hob joined them for the chorus.”
Jo and some of Hob’s cousins exclaim loudly, looking back to Hob, who is running a hand through his hair with a wide, uncomfortable smile as more of his family join in on the slowly building sound of laughter. Dream smirks and tugs on Hob’s arm to get his attention.
“You have a great voice, darling, don’t be embarrassed. I was very smitten.”
“Oh, I’m sure you were,” Hob says, his ears red. Dream would never admit it, but it’s a very cute look on him.
“And when you asked me to marry you, of course I said yes.” Dream tapped Hob on the nose, who’s eyes narrowed murderously. Dream smiled with teeth, uncaring how sarcastic he appeared now.
“Oh you guys!” Hob’s mother exclaimed, her expression reflecting utter joy. Jo was whispering something to Hob’s brother and snickered between themselves. “That’s very unlike the Robert we all know,” she gives Hob a knowing look. “I suppose love makes you do strange things.”
“Strange, yeah. That’s one way to put it.” Hob is looking at Dream again, his eyes glinting with revenge, most likely. But Dream doesn’t mind. He’s just relieved they got this out of the way, along with the bonus of managing to embarrass Hob in front of his entire family. A win-win in Dream’s books.
the song Dream came up with... which Hob would definitely, absolutely, sing to Dream on any other occasion lol
