I feel like Kohaku is not used to being a shield. He finds it’s easier to be the sword. It’s how he’s been raised–to be nothing more than a tool for attacking, something to cut and tear, to bleed and hurt.

Not something that can be utilised to defend, to protect.

But whenever you duck behind him in crowded areas, hiding your face between his shoulder blades, he feels like he can use the knowledge that has been forced upon him for something good.

Honestly, he finds it rather strange how you can be so independent when standing up to your annoyingly overbearing seniors (like the Magician guy from fine and that vampire) but retreat into your shell the minute you leave the premises of the dorms.

Still, despite how he may tease you, you know you can trust him to hide you from the world whenever you need him to.

“Feelin’ shy, are we...?”

If you’re taller than him, he’ll attempt to stretch out to his fullest height so he can cover you as best he can, stance wide like he’s getting ready for a brawl. It’s not much, but you appreciate it all the same.

If you’re shorter than him, he’ll let you cling to him and put an arm around you, tugging you close so your face is level with his chest.

He’ll glare at anyone who tries to approach you until you feel brave enough to come out of hiding, and even then he’ll keep a look out for anyone he thinks might exacerbate your unease.

He’d probably be really worried the first time this happens–by which I mean he’d stiffen up and put you behind him so he could defend you more easily, his eyes scanning the area for threats even as he keeps you in his peripheral vision, for anything that could make you act so nervous. Though once you explain to him that it’s nothing bad, you’re just anxious around so many people–that it’s nothing to be overly worried about–he calms down.

Feels a little embarrassed about his overreaction, but you assure him that you appreciate how he immediately went on the defensive at the first sign of your distress.

Now that he’s used to it, he can easily tell the difference between when you are actually in distress or just anxious.

He’s really sweet about it.

Will distract you by talking about his day, or something cute he saw that reminded him of you, really just anything that he can think of while he takes you to a less crowded place. Crouches next to you and rubs your back, the soothing circular movement grounding you until you feel calmer.

Hugs you afterwards and tells you, ya did good, Y/N-han.

When you thank him for putting up with you, he rubs the back of his neck sheepishly.

“It’s not really like I’m puttin’ up with ya. I love ya, and I’m happy to help ya out. Seein’ ya scared makes me feel…icky. As long as you’re feelin’ safe ‘nd calm, then I’m happy.”

Okay so— feel free to ignore but I need to talk about this with someone and know if I'm alone or not.

I HATE most fics where the reader has anxiety, maybe is anxious that the partner is getting tired of them, or cheating or them or anything along those lines, and the only thing that the partner does to make up and """"reassure""""???? the reader is with sex.

Now, I want to specify; I have NOTHING against who write these, I have nothing against who likes and these, and damn, sometimes I also find myself liking them.

But some are just so... I don't know how to put it into words. Like, where is the comfort? Frankly, eating out the reader's feminine area or fucking them senseless does not ease the paranoia or erase the problem at the beginning of the fic.

Most of these I found are: The reader is anxious. The reader talks with the partner, the partner understands (sometimes after an argument), and decides that for showing that they love the reader they have to fuck them, make love with them, depends on the way the sex is written ig lol.

And that's it! Where's the reassurance? Where are the kind, soft demonstrations that are not carnal desire that could actually ease the reader's anxiousness??

I am an anxious person if you can't tell LIKE LMAO YOU CAN NOTICE SO WELL AFTER EVERYTHING I'VE WRITTEN BYE, so when fics like this happen I kinda a lil bit gets frustrated (I repeat nothing against who likes/writes this).

And no, I don't mean aftercare; I don't mean after sex a softy partner who cleans them up, showers with them, brings them to bed and cuddle to sleep. This may be enough for a normal person, but an anxious person does NOT work like this.

It’s really funny trying to eat/drink this way

He’s held hands tons of times before (duh) but he feels like it’s more special when it’s with the one that he loves

There’s also that feeling of doing something so simple and “first-base” with someone you love that puts butterflies in your stomach when you do it for the first time in awhile

Yes! I am very much okay with viewing and perceiving what people ship! I find it fascinating in all honesty and try to understand the different sides of it (but underage stuff is a big no no in my house guys, gals and nonbinary pals).

Somnus is a *serious* insomniac. Like, the hardly sleeps insomnia with night terrors and daydreams attached (realizing the irony in that).

Somnus only started becoming interested in science because he was looking for a way to create and sustain artificial magic. His hope was that by using natural elements, he could find a way to enhance his magic. Heeee has yet to find that solution.

Somnus’ Dream was a very oblivious child. Not in the “dumb blonde” stereotype way, but in the way that if he wasn’t told something, it didn’t happen in his mind. He was, however, very observant.

Each of the brother’s gained something from their mother tree: Dream’s cape from the banner sigil, Nightmare’s powers from the blackened apple, and Somnus’ talisman carved from the wood of a branch that fell in a storm.

The rest of the manga club watches with varying expressions of concern (Keito-kun, Jun-kun, Tori-chan) and near-terror (Mao-chan, Midori-chan) as you smile giddily down at your phone, a dreamy sigh escaping your lips.

“You don’t think…” Isara whispers, slightly fearful. Takamine has his head buried in his book like that will save him from the horror of this conversation. “That Y/N-senpai is dying, do you?”

“No, of course not.” Keito dismisses his worries easily. “I would know if that were the case.”

“But senpai is acting sort of strange, don’t you think?”

“I’m sure it’s nothing as drastic as that…” But a frown makes its way upon his face. There’s no way… Right?

So when you finally give the dramatic reveal (after reassuring Mao-chan that, no, you’re not dying, yes, you promise), the look of warring confusion and absolute horror upon Keito-kun’s face when he realises your ‘precious partner’ is none other than Mikejima Madara is a sight to behold.

Part of the reason everyone is so bewildered at this turn of events is the fact that you’re composed and quiet and Madara is, well…not.

Initially, you find yourself fielding questions from (hopefully!) concerned classmates–who only know of him as that scary guy from MaM–about whether you were coerced into dating him. You know they mean well but it still grates on your nerves, how they see him like some big scary bad guy when really, he’s the exact opposite?

But when they see your lovestruck expression as you watch your boyfriend run rampant as you trail more sedately after him, there’s no doubt that this is a true match made in…maybe not heaven, per say, but Yumenosaki for sure!

He’s always thinking about you, and it shows when he messages you at odd hours of the day to check in on you, or sends you pictures of things he thinks you’d like, or little trinkets to remind you of him. Your boyfriend is so adorable, God? You’re so lucky, seriously. How’d you get blessed with someone as amazing as him!? You must’ve done something really incredible in your past life.

It’s strange to see you acting so shy and different from how you normally are, but no one can deny the way you light up when Madara is near and the way he’s always looking out for you shows the depth of your love for each other.
