one thing that's so weird 2 me is watching speedpaints and seeing them like. grabbing bits of their sketch and resizing and rotating them as they please. like damn... your program lets you do that without blurring it away to practically nothing?

I love how soft Urahara is with Ururu when she admits that she gave a customer defective merchandise (actually Kon) by mistake. It's in such stark contrast to both his ditzy shopkeeper and schemer modes. This dude really loves his kid and I respect that.

Saaaaaame. ToT She may have been created as a doomsday device (and seems to have accepted this role without prompting when the situation seems to call--she's ready to go KO Ichigo when they think he's about to go full Hollow), but she's just as much a little girl and is loved as one.

I guess what's a little sad/ironic about that is that she really does get terrorized by Jinta, and it's pretty clear that she reason she's so scared to apologize for/draw attention to her error is because she's expecting punishment--specifically, physical punishment. She flinches away from his hand:

So the poor girl has still sustained some childhood trauma--not because she lives in a weirdo shop that engages in moral travesties below ground (and probably also above) but because her brother hits her. :( Which is sad, but also a reminder that even in the presence of the supernatural, the trials and tribulations of being a normal person can still come home to roost just as monumentally.

I'm not sure that Urahara quite registers this (Jinta immediately starts pulling her hair and berating her for not reading the box properly, and Urahara is like, ha ha please don't fight? please?), though I imagine it'd be difficult for him to consistently find that register.

Im sorry but nowadays, when I watch/read MHA, I faze out and suddenly find myself in a McDonald's driveway. I feel like MHA kinda lost its magic, like not all of it, but it's not as hype as it used to be. But in the beginning, MHA encouraged me to get fit when I saw Deku preparing to handle OFA, so I'll give them that (even though that motivation only lasted for two weeks 😭)

Now, im just really interested in the fandom instead of the anime/manga

McDonald’s driveway LMAOODJFKb… so harsh but so true, and it’s hard to say whether the loss of hype is due to the story itself or just… the regard that people have for it nowadays (and I say this because I’m not sure which ur referring to).

I definitely think the community itself has gotten a little more dull (given that we’re no longer all stuck at home)… but part of me also feels like hori probably feels the same as this… and that contributes, too.

I’m not sure if you saw it, but in some of my previous tags i talked about how he actually switched to an editor that was notorious for “ruining” mangas, so I see that being part of problem… but also one thing that really just jumps to mind as we talk abt this is how MHA went from dealing with kind of complex moral problems to… “villains are bad and we must fight them!!!!” (Alongside the general rushing of the storyline).

So idkkkk. I feel the same as u in sort of a melancholy way. I want to keep liking the show for what it is… but it’s just no longer what it used to be (like you said). Whether it’s the pandemic, the fandom itself, the story, hori, his editor… whatever…….. it doesn’t have the sparkle that it used to bc it feels like we just keep being disappointed or rushed through the important parts.

But it’s good we have our little fandom, and hopefully we continue to have it, however the show proceeds.

The reason most people are bad at offering cogent criticisms of other people's work is because they're evaluating those works on the basis of The Thing They Would Make, not The Thing You Would Make. Indeed, a great many people don't understand that those are different things, interpreting The Thing You Would Make as a defective or incomplete version of The Thing They Would Make.

This gulf of understanding is not an impassable one. Learning to correctly identify the author's creative goals with respect to a particular work, and to formulate criticism in terms of how best to achieve those goals, is a skill which can be cultivated. In its proper place, it can be a hugely valuable skill – there's a reason many authors will tell you that a good editor is worth their weight in gold.

Unfortunately, developing this skill will not make you any less prone to being a hater. Learning how to correctly identify other people's creative goals simply means that you'll graduate from picking at specific choices to saying: "I understand this work's goals, and those goals fucking suck. I hate everything that this chooses to be."

"Dragon Age: The Veilguard features a far more fleshed out romance and relationship system than in previous BioWare games, the developer has told Eurogamer - including the ability for party members to go off and find their own love interests, should you not be interested yourself. Speaking to Eurogamer's deputy editor Chris Tapsell at an event in LA this week, The Veilguard's creative director John Epler revealed more of the game's relationship system. "In Dragon Age games, BioWare games, romance is a core part," Epler said. "We wanted to give each character their own flavour, or their own style, of romance. So some characters may be a little more steamy while some characters maybe a little bit more innocent. But for each one, you can build these relationships. "And what's interesting in this game is, if you don't romance characters, they may decide to find their own romances for themselves, whether within the team or within the world itself." It's reminiscent somewhat of how Shepard could walk in on Garrus and Tali locked in a kiss towards the end of Mass Effect 3 - but only if you had chosen not to show romantic interest in either one beforehand. What sounds like another improvement from previous BioWare games is how a character's romance arc will be better woven into their own personal story arc, and their involvement with The Veilguard's core questline. BioWare has also worked to ensure that getting to know your characters as friends feels just as satisfying - and that just because you're not banging your buddy, their (platonic) relationship with you will still continue. "One of the things we tried to do with The Veilguard is it's not just romantic relationship building," Epler continued. "You need to get to know a person before you can really build that kind of relationship with them, and if you choose not to build a [romantic] relationship, we never want to feel like you're being cut off. There's no 'okay, well, their arc isn't progressing, I'm done'. "We want to make sure the non-romantic relationships are deep as well, with friendships not just for companions and yourself, but also between companions across the party." How To Make Your Own Fanfiction Archive, In Just Ten Easy Steps

As the go-to "person who knows about AO3" for quite a few people who read fanfic but aren't really linked-in to wider fandom culture, I've fielded a lot of questions about how to do certain things on AO3 to which my best answer is "you should really start your own archive!" I think, in general, more fans starting their own small archives would be a net good for fandom. AO3 was never meant to be the only archive for all fandom, or even the main archive, and the more spread out and backed up we are the more resilient we are.

But of course I have to be reminded that a lot of fans these days don't really have any idea how little "you should start your own archive!" really involves. (Also, that I should practice what I preach.) So I am now making my own fanfiction archive, and writing up this post as I do it to tell people how to make theirs!

Go to https://neocities.org/ and sign up for an account. It only needs a username (which will also be your website address), password, and email. Pick a username that will be related to your archive's title!

Choose the free account option (if you ever need more than what the free account offers for a text-only archive, you should probably look into graduating from neocities.) This should take you to a menu of "how to make a website" tutorials. You should do them! They're useful skills. But let's get your archive running first.

Hit the big red Edit Site button, or open the menu under your username and select "Edit Site".

Select the "Index.html" file to edit. You're now in an HTML Editor. Congrats, you're a web developer c. 1999!

Find where it has text between the < title> tags. Delete the filler text, and put in the title of your new archive. This text will be what shows on the tab when people go to your archive.

Find where it has text between the < h1 > tags. This will be big header text at the top of your page. Put the title of your archive here again. If you have no experience with HTML, you should read over the other sample text. It covers the basic basics very well! Once you've done that, you can delete everything else between the < /h1> tag and the < /body> tag. Save your index.html file.

Get an HTML file for a fanfic you would like to add to your archive. If it's on AO3, you can use the html download option built into AO3. If you have it as a word processor/google docs file, you should have the option to save as an html file. Save that html file to your computer.

Go back to Edit Site on Neocities and go to "upload". Find the html file you saved and upload it. (You can also drag and drop files to upload.)

The file you uploaded should now be showing with your other neocities files. Right-click on the title and select "copy link".

Go in to edit index.html again. Under where you put your header text, type < br> < a href=" . Then paste in the link you copied. Then type "> Then put in the title of the fic. Then type < /a> . Then save the index page again when you're done. You can do this for every fanfic you have.

Congratulations! You now have your very own personal private fanfiction archive that you are 100% in charge of and make all the rules for. It's at least as good as half the ones I was reading on when I started reading fanfiction and will serve its function well as a way to let people read your fic. You can link to it from anywhere you want! (Including your AO3 profile.)

Even though you had insisted on helping that modest family financially, you were not allowed to do so. Both Sukuna and his brother and mother refused to accept a cent of your generous support, saying that they did not want to take advantage of your kindness. That Friday the drawings were finished quickly, so you decided to watch some videos on your tiktok while Sukuna played a video game that you only knew had weapons because of the shots. The videos on your fyp were about pranks between couples (something that amused you), some light and others a little harsh.

Sukuna was someone who was a joker, someone who liked to make jokes but couldn't stand having one played on him; However, you were a couple, a slight joke between you could be kind of funny, it wasn't even a funny joke you just wanted to see how funny his reaction could be.

A message made Sukuna's phone ring, you thought it was the perfect time for your little act as you held back your laughter.

“Who is sending you so many messages? You have another girl, right?”

Your comment surprised Sukuna slightly, you weren't the jealous type, he looked at you for a split second and that was enough for him to know you were joking, he can play too.

"Oh my love. It's not even one girl, they´re five precious ones."

The amused smile that adorned your face disappeared in an instant, being replaced by a strange grimace, your eyes glistening from the tears that formed and that you refused to let go as you bit your trembling lower lip, preventing any sound.
