indeed my exact process once every 8 months or so

#I just thought today of a new way to format a 'profile' (like the descriptions of self that people use on friend meeting #apps and stuff) and how to organize the sections so that it seems such and such a way and oh what if there's links which click off #into branching paths so it's very acessible and there are two different forms depending on so on and so forth #and i was like 'um.. wow. amazing idea. this will be soooo aweseome and will definitely work' but then .. you know...self reflection #lol.. is this just like the millions of other iterations of a similar thing? No.. This Is Different ... Surely...#Though if I had a millionaire friend and a few people who do the type of coding you use for web design stuff and etc..#I could create the most elaborate detailed and amazing platonic friend seeking (and I guess you could also have 'dating' as an option #since that would draw in more of a crowd) website on the earth.. the new okcupid (back when okcupid didn't suckishly abandon their #whole format in hopes of trying to become just like tinder or whatever and they actually had like tons of info and percentages and #open answer questions and would list personality traits on a profile (like 'this person is more Open To New Expereinces than 65% of #other users' etc.). etc. etc. Oh what a beautiful thing I could craft for the detail freaks of the world.... Alas...#unfortunately we seem to be in an oversimplification era.. everything in short quick bites. everything on a tiny phone screen. etc.#marketing 'Introducing The Most Complicated Data Heavy Social Connection Site In The World' would not sell well I'd imagine gjhgjh #AANYWAY.. also no idea why the representation of me is in a turtle neck. what a bold fashion choice..#In another moment of self reflection.. the fact that in the first tag on this post I felt the need to define the word 'profile' just to be #specific as if people couldn't tell from context.. so clearly someone who finds filling out forms a 'fun afternoon activity' lol #the type of guy who finds psych evaluations and pop quizzes and making chore lists mostly enjoyable (< true)

Here's a petition for combatting the latest anti-trans stuff in Alberta!! I'm pretty sure you have to at least be in Canada to sign it, but I'm not sure if you need to be in Alberta specifically. Please sign it if you're able to, this directly impacts my community and people I care about!!!

If you can't sign, there's a legal fund donation page for the Skippingstone Foundation, which is a group I can personally vouch for and that does so so so much for the community.

Right on.#anyway VLC doesn't know how to convert files for the casual user #I had to use a web-browser based thing to do it #the tools I used:#4K Video downloader Plus (free): to get the full Youtube video because VLC couldn't stream it from the link #VLC: to clip the video down to just 10-ish seconds #Free Convert (website): to convert from .asf to .mp4 because VLC couldn't do it for me #siiiiigggh anyway hope you all enjoy this beat drop #maybe it's just recency bias that makes me think this music video is so good #oddly enough getting that inline link to work also took some doing #it either didn't create a link or it automatically embedded; couldn't choose like I can with links to other sites #Opened up a new tab. Draft a new post with its own link. Turned to HTML editor. I am starting to realize that the reason I don't post my selfship lore that often is because of decision paralysis. like where do I even start??? there's just so much that needs to be said and so much that needs to be written and drawn and planned. as if I can't just change my mind later

#aeg speaks #been thinking about this a lot. the way i communicate my own ideas to people is extremely inefficient unfortunately #i cant get upset with people misunderstanding me or not wanting to engage with what i do when i just make it so much of a slog to do so #I do hope my webbed site heals me. I just cannot deal with the piecewise posting style that social media has #its just too hard to write all that out and THEN tag everything and link everything together. would rather just slap it all somewhere #and be done with it #and yes I see the irony of saying that setting up a tagging system with links is too hard but making a website is fine.#its bc at least on my own website im in control of how everything is laid out #and not have to trust people to click hyperlinks on a website where people would rather just mindlessly scroll past #(not a criticism bc I do this a lot too. tho im getting better abt it)#doesn't help that I'm so busy with comms and constantly depressed. compounding with all of this and making it even worse

a note: i tend to make memes their own thread for the sake of if the other person would like to continue it. memes are far more efficient than starter calls and tend to spark ideas much easier. beyond that, as a person with adhd, i know sometimes the additional step of making a new thread discourages me from continuing memes and i tend to lose motivation just because of that extra button-click. me making a meme its own thread is literally just me trying to give the other person the opportunity to make it a thread if they want to without having to go through the linking and creating step.

Happy Day of the Dead (Dia de los Muertos) to those of you who celebrate it!

To commemorate, I decided to update my old Day of the Dead aesthetic that I made way back in 2018. (Old ver. is on the left, new version is on the bottom.)

One of the reasons I decided to update my Day of the Day aesthetic was because there's a Day of the Dead event coming up at my college, and I volunteered to help with decorations, including using my old moodboard.

But when I opened it up, I realized that I only really encompassed the sugar skull aspect, and little of everything else.

I still like it, but I would not say it fully encompasses all the aspects and nuances of Dia de los Muertos. Whereas in my new version (with two alt versions), I tried to encapsulate (to the best of my abilities) as much of the Dia de los Muertos aesthetic as I could.

I also made two alt. versions (as seen below) as I had found a few different photos I really liked of ofrendas and wanted to use all of them, as well as more prominent corner rounding, and a different border color.

I also added "My Love Life" because somehow I missed it, too.

Lastly I made a Youtube playlist of all the songs on the list, because Spotify is missing too many of them for me to bother with making it there (lots of the rarer Moz b-sides and demos aren't on Spotify - as well as some bigger songs like "Pregnant For the Last Time." It's weird).
