you know whats my favorite part about this scene.... its how will notices that mike is upset, and sits next to him but he doesnt even ask whats wrong. he doesnt have to. just his presence makes mike feel comfortable enough opening up to him.
he sits next to mike for just a few seconds and thats enough to lead mike into telling him whats wrong and explaining what is going on.... and you know how much of a big deal it is to get MIKE WHEELER, #1 bottler of emotions, to open up??? that easily???? he feels so safe with will that he doesnt hesitate to share with him his doubts and worries, even when he struggles so much to do so with literally anyone else
mike and will truly understand each other so much that they dont even need words and that means so much to me
yknow knowing who that artist is and what they like its not a surprise they drew that...especially considering theyre a mod on monkiecentral who just a day ago publicly qrtd a teenager attacking them for something they didnt do but whatever haha
[VD: A Magnus Archives animation done in orange and teal titled "Pusryčiai" (meaning: "breakfast"). Mellow music plays as Martin cracks two eggs into a frying pan. He turns away to throw the shells while the pan sizzles, and when he returns with a spatula, a "boom" sound effect plays as Martin recoils with comic disgust.
The egg yolks have been replaced by human eyeballs. Martin stares at them for a moment. He then pokes at the egg with the spatula, producing a squelching sound, and one of the eyes blinks with another gross wet sound. Martin goes from disgusted to comically sad and disappointed, and he fades away before the setting does. The video ends on the words "darė Skaistė" (meaning: made by Skaistė) and a quick shot of an eyeball. End VD]
ty @princess-of-purple-prose for the description, i edited it a bit too.
listen there really was just something about how in the book, snow’s 3-page descent from hesitant lover boy to deluded psychopath happens entirely in his mind. lucy gray gives him no indication whatsoever that she suspects him, that she’s going to leave or betray him. he’s just sitting quietly in the cabin waiting for her to return when that seed of calculated suspicion, which he has needed to survive the capitol, takes a hold of him and chokes the life out of any goodness left inside him. it really drives home your terror as a reader that “oh my god did he kill her? did she escape? what happened to her? why would he even think that?” in a way that when the movie had to adjust for visualization it lost some of that holy shit this guy has lost it emphasis.
in honor of ace week id like to shoutout every asexual who first thought they were bi/pan because they looked at all the genders and felt no difference and zero is equal to zero so they said "huh. must be bisexual" and then shoved their sexuality back under the rug for 3-5 years
