Might delete this later but bear with me because im sick of seeing this ao3 blowback every year. The ire people aim at ao3 for existing as a non-profit with no sponsor other than its users (who the ire is also aimed at for throwing money its way) rather than the systems that make it impossible for a literal archive of fanworks to exist without donation is baffling.

Ao3 needs funds because otherwise it would need ads and be subject to the censors that every site on the internet is forced to submit to. You know, the whims of the same corporations that first made it impossible to say "gay" on youtube without getting demonetized and then lead to OF, a site for indie sex workers, almost getting denied all payment support from legit banks? Those systems.

This capitalist way of things is the reason why ao3 runs on donations, and why people keep needing to put up fundraisers for basic expenses.

You have a common enemy. Dont shit on an organization that fights for the right of fandom to exist in any real, permanent, centralized capacity, an organization that everyone knows about, getting money, rather than an individual that's limited by the confines of only some people knowing them.

Uplift, boost and donate to the people who need it. But dont 1) feign ignorance at why ao3 is getting so much attention and 2) act like the site is only there for quote unquote 30 year old white women writing drarry rpf.

Make no mistake; if ao3 falls, not only do we lose a library of alexandria of fiction, but there's a good chance that Fandom as a whole goes back into illegality. The right of creative writing, drawing, anything based on copyrighted work will regress 20 years.

Saw something on TikTok that didn't sit right with me today. A disabled creator was talking about how they couldnt work due to their disability and another disabled creator had stitched it saying things like "why not?" And "im in a wheelchair and i work whats your excuse" the comments were full of abled bodied people saying "i know someone with xyz disorder and they work this person is just lazy." With the second creator liking all of the comments like this. I dont know why this has left me feeling so uncomfortable it just seems like instead of bringing other disabled people down and perpetuating harmful stereotypes you should either be supportive or be keeping your mouth shut.

I'm so glad someone finally pointed out how trans and queer essayists seem to erase trans men when talking about trans issues. I notice it the most when people talk about the early trans rights movement where people frame trans men and trans masculine individuals as people who essentially just laid back and only stepped in on the (falsely assumed) incredibly rare occasion it directly effected them while trans women did all the work.

Yes! that's actually something that made me most upset. Jesses comment that I quoted stated that /especially/ trans women and (tacking on femme non binaries) have historically faced violence for pointing out these dichotomies are bad or whatever.

This ignores butch and transmasculine history of police violence toward us in a way that feels like either she didn't do any research into it or felt like it wasn't important enough to add into the video. This happens all the time. Minimizing trans male struggles, to make it some sort of trans women empowerment time type thing. That THEY fought the hardest, and THEY were on the front lines, while trans men were easily stealth and didn't do anything to contribute. If you go to any trans man or butch space, you'll hear us talk about how frustrating it is that people think masculinity on female bodies, or perceived women isn't taken as a threat, when most have personal stories of cis men threatening them, or getting into fights or being more aggressive with them than their femme counterparts. It feels like an unwillingness to engage with us. I still dont want to say that this is on purpose, because I don't know the intention behind these comments, or if it's even a clear thought they have, but when i comes to the trans essayists it feels like a girls club with the same idea passed around over and over, that trans women have always had it worse. I'll also say that this is sometimes supported by the trans man creators, like Jammidoger. It's not just the trans women, it's not just the essayists, but they have a large audience and I wish they would stop saying this kind of stuff and cementing these things into peoples heads.

Okay so what I was trying to explain on my blog was I noticed an instance of racism that doesn't get talked about often in black spaces , I noticed "anti racist" white ppl are only interested in ending racism or cancelling racism when it suits them or when it isn't inconvenient for them like for example: cancelling racist brands if they don't make products that they enjoy, not cancelling racists that happen to be very attractive and only cancelling racists if they dont make content they enjoy hence why the racist singer Camilla Cabello is being cancelled for being racist(she doesn't make good music) while Lana del ray gets idolised and supported(she makes good music) but in this case im talking about tim Burton who takes part in making good famous spooky movies. He makes scary content and his works either have non-humans,white/light skins,white passing(for his dead characters) but no poc and when asked for rep by his black fans he replied with "black ppl do not fit his style/aesthetic" and yeah at the time it happened he was faced with backlash but the backlash was stopped and he wasn't cancelled because of his several non black fans who defended him by saying "maybe he means that black ppl cant fit his aesthetic because they aren't pale hence it wont look spooky " , "4c hair would look goofy in a spooky movie and wouldn't look spooky/creepy as straight hair(I believe its cuz most ghosts in media have long straight hair)" and some of his fans being very obviously racist without even sugarcoating or sounding nice about it by saying "there musn't be representation in every single media"

People aren't usually willing to give up their faves, yes. It's a common occurrence; it's why there's such a defensiveness about confronting racism, in this case in fandom. Acknowledging that your fave media or creator is racist means acknowledging that you might have to... stop liking them, or at least put effort into recognizing when things are an issue. And people don't want to "be a racist", but they also.... Enjoy the content. They don't want to think about it critically. So by denying the truth, they can continue to enjoy it without moral stress. Tis a choice!

Alright, I'm going to write my own thoughts down on the situation, sorry if this gets rambly

First of all, Shubble is so brave for speaking up, it's really hard for victims to speak up against there abusers in a public setting and she deserves all the respect in the world for it

That being said we do need to be mindful to give her space, this was a really traumatic thing for her and we all need to be mindful of that, give her room to breath.

On the same lines, don't go after other ccs for not ""releasing statements"", content creators aren't companies, there people. Don't get on at them for not publicly supporting Shubble, especially since there undoubtedly doing it in private, which is probably better than shoving it out there for millions of people to see. Let people support there friend in a way they and shubble are confortable with, if shubble wants them to say something or they think they need to say something themselves, they will say it.

It's like Pearl said, just because you don't see something happening publicly doesn't mean it isn't happening

Also, don't jump to call Tommy or Phil or Grian or anyone else enablers because they haven't said anything, they'll need time to process this too, it's hard to find out that your friend is a domestic abuser, let them process this in piece and don't try to cancel them over nothing like a fool. (People like Tommy will need time especially since Wilbur befriended them when they were young and by all accounts manipulated them too)

the fact i have recently seen a huge increase in people talking about inzoi, even seeing a popular cc creator posting about it (and all the comments being about if they’re enjoying the game and not a single one calling out the use of generative ai or curseforge support or anything). if you are online and active on tumblr, esp in the sims community, you have seen people talk about this game and WHY YOU SHOULDNT PLAY IT. and it’s not like we’re making this up either just so people dont stop playing the sims or whatever, there’s actual sources for it:

right. so considering how this person talked about things (using wilbur and george as main examples, even liking a tweet of someone pointing out the irony of one of wilburs songs saying not to trust british men, notably someone who immediately believed the allegations against tubbo) its incredibly likely that this was someone whos bitter about wilbur and/or george and wanted to discredit shubble and caiti (not to mention others like lexie and andi who have also come out with their stories) as "allegations with no evidence". notably they point out the AI not acting like a boy, but nothing about the story implies the victim is a boy, its the profile having a woman's name, and since their account existed before this i dont think they had chatgpt come up with their username for this.

shubble and caiti didnt have "no evidence". they both had friends who could corroborate their stories, and even people who previously associated with the creators were able to confirm things. shubble's story actively mentioned wilbur hurting her in front of their shared friends, other ccs had experience with him biting or otherwise being rough with them, several ccs admitted that he was a horrible person to them too, wilburs ant infestation was talked about before shubble mentioned it in her story, several of shubbles friends were aware of her experience before she talked about it publicly. caiti's story included something personal about george (the tickling kink) that only people who had experience with him knew about (from what i know), george has openly admitted to not caring about hurting his friends on camera, and others were able to confirm that george talked inappropriately about them as well. wilbur and george both actively responded to each story even without their names being said because the stories were familiar enough to them that they didnt need to be said. they knew it was about them just based on what the victims said they were like.

its extremely fucked up to make a social experiment out of all of this, and i dont think it was really a social experiment out of any sort of academic interest in the first place. its a fake story made up to make actual victims seem unreasonable and dumb for coming out and being believed based on what this person believed was word alone. the very fact that they either didnt notice or just left in the obvious contradictions with the set up (accusing a gay man who cant drive of assaulting a girl while driving her home from a party in the pandemic, which he didnt leave his house during) actively shows that they believe the actual victims' stories are as "dumb" as this and genuinely believed that they didnt have actual weight to them. they truly did think there was "no evidence", that people were just spreading around baseless stories and taking them at face value, that no one even thought of innocent before guilty.

the only people who need to learn are the ones behind this story. but if there is anything to learn about on others ends, its to be aware of people like this who will discredit the victims' and accuse their stories of being dumb and lacking evidence, who will defend abusers with "innocent until proven guilty" while also targeting actual innocents. have actual victims in your heart and mind and dont let shit like this deter you from what actually matters: continuing to support real victims and paying attention to the issues that they bring up about misogyny, abuse of power, and the dangerous culture surrounding how victims are treated in this community by diehard fans of their abusers. this fake story and the mindset of the people behind it only shows just how far some people will go to try and discredit and downplay what shubble speaking up has started to do for this community

thats a video, btw, its apparently the same/similar to the first QSMP trailer that released when the server was first announced. I didnt join till later so i cant like attest to this but its the same vibe from what ive seen. It shows someone walking up, sitting in the chair and text flashes on our screen "20 YEARS LATER", before the little screen starts playing the "welcome to isla quesadilla" intro video to the person in the chair.

Alongside this, Yangdding (if you dont know her shes a korean creator on the server) accidentally vague leaked about something special happening on the 25th, which is a similar date to the one shown.

Because of all these things, as well as some CCs wrapping up their character lore, tumblr (and i assume twitter but i dont go on twitter) are theorizing its going to be some kind of server reset/season 2/set up for a time loop scenario.

I personally support the time loop scenario, because various character stories and cc's (Fits story with madagio, as well as offhand comments by cc!bad, phil and foolish) support that this island is an ongoing, looping experiment.

Its not a foolproof theory, as there are some ties not tied up yet (such as leo and pepito still being up and active on the QSMP) but either way, everyone generally seems to remain nervouscited (nervous and excited) about the event, and the ghosties and tubblings are sticking with whatever bad and tubbo do.

While I have known about your artwork for a few years now, I never dove into it until Welcome Home became popular, and I genuinely love the vision you have. Your other artwork is also phenominal and genuinely inspires me, and it always has, even before I discovered the Welcome Home website. Your character designs are impeccable, the way you portray the muppets is genuinely awesome and brings back a lot of good memories, as I grew up watching puppet shows. I just wanna take a moment to make a few points regarding zionists, tlou, and palestine.

No one should stay silent about this, especially not tlou creators, considering that neil druckman has unfortunately managed to incorporate and slip in very controversial and quite frankly--just straight up wrong representations of palestinian people and zionist ideologies in tlou. Heres an explanation to that:link

If you're either fucking ignorant or just living under a rock, (but considering the publicity of the situation at hand, is very unlikely) there is a genocide going on in palestine. If you didn't know, (which is very, VERY unlikely, like i said) you do now. Furthermore; now that we have this in mind, I have seen many people in the tlou fandom continue to post and interact with tlou content during strikes and most the most important of all--not posting or spreading awareness about palestine at ALL. If you are aware of the genocide, speak about it. Theres no fucking excuse to not be doing so. If you are not speaking out, you are a part of the problem.

2. I'm not saying you only have to post about palestine. That's not it at all. What i'm saying is---there can be a balance between posting your own personal content as well as posting and spreading awareness about palestine at the same time. Absolutely everyone can find the time to post about palestine.

3. If you are in the tlou fandom, please educate yourself. It is still okay to like tlou, it is still okay to post about it, to post content, fics, etc. but with that comes the responsibility of knowing the creators wrong doings, and how israeli themes are incorporated into the game. it is always important to clarify that you do not support that part of tlou, which is what I am doing now. Bottom line, separate the art from the artist, seperate the wrong ideologies from the art.

4. Acknowledgement. There might be questions like, "why keep posting about or liking, interacting, or overall just giving publicity to tlou content?" which to that I will explain. It has to be first and foremost that everyone as well as myself continues to acknowledge the fact that tlou was made by a zionist. That is absolutely a fact. And no amount of fics, smut, or shit like that is gonna change that. But people don't LIKE tlou for that. people dont POST tlou content because they want to spread zionist ideology. They simply just post scenarios, fics, or drabbles about their favorite characters from said video game. So posting about tlou and its characters will not benefit zionists or spread their ideology individually (unless they ARE in fact saying that they support it) , nor neil druckman. But what WILL benefit him is buying any more of the games, which please---you should not do. The money goes to a horrible person like him, and that fact should be acknowledged. So continuing to post about characters from tlou like abby, ellie, dina, joel--stuff like that, theres nothing wrong with that. But failing to acknowledge or want to acknowledge that the TLOU creator is problematic, and that neil druckman has included zionist ideology in TLOU, as well as not spreading awareness about palestine when you, yourself, are aware, is what is wrong.

And I really did hope this would go without saying but unfortunately some people cant seem to fucking understand; people are dying. let that sink in. and you're over here worrying about fictional pussy? be so fucking for real. if you're mad about people flooding tlou tags to spread awareness, go cry about it.
