#i just wanna know i'm not crazy in having this opinion. like did anyone else feel this? like you watched half a movie & then it ended?

It's very hard to come up with romantic yanderes but I've just got this idea:

Imagine Toji Fushiguro being betrothed to you, Y/n Gojo. Ever since he was a kid, he was told that he would marry the Gojo Saturo's older sister to make the clan stronger.

Now we all know that Toji hated being told what to do, so he swore to himself that he'd never marry you once he grows up. In fact, Toji grew up hating you because all the elders tried to drill it into him that he only existed to marry you and he's useless otherwise.

Alas, Zenin clan did end up forcing Toji to marry you. However, Toji remained defiant even after marrying you. He did not care that you were actually in love with him, he told you once that this was a "marriage of convenience" and that he'd never touch you with a 10 foot pole even if you were the last person on earth because you're a "manipulative bitch". Now reader is 100% confused because she didn't understand why Toji resents her, but decides to work on this marriage for the sake of her family.

Toji cheats on you, slept around with pretty much anyone and everyone, ended up having Megumi with someone and then forced the baby into your lap, wasn't home much because he'd much rather risk his life doing a bounty hunt than sleep in the same bed as you.

You on the other hand, continued to surprise him as you took it all with a smile. When he told you he was cheating on you, you just nodded and asked if he'd like you to run him a bath. When he dropped Megumi in your lap, telling you it's his son, you smiled and cooed at the baby, promising to take care of him. Whenever he tried to sneak out of the house early morning, you'd come out of the kitchen with his lunch, wishing him a safe journey.

He thought you were crazy. No one in their sane mind would react how you had.

Toji won't lie, he may have not fallen for you, but you had managed to soften up his heart and change his opinion of you from "I MF HATE HER-!" to "She's alright."

He doesn't remember what exactly it was that made him fall for you, but it mightve been the time when he found out how you lied to Zenin clan when they asked if Toji had been treating you well or not. You smiled gently and sang hsi praises, and he couldn't figure out why you did that. You had no reason to, your clan was superior to his, they would've protected you. Toji knows how respected and loved you are by your family.

Or maybe it was when he'd return home with injuries and you'd stay up all night taking care of him. There had been quite a few times when he was near death's door, and it was you who had brought him back.

Or maybe it was the fact that Naoya told him that it was you who paid the Zenin clan to give Megumi to Toji. You paid, out of your own pocket, not your family's money, but your own. For him. And you never told him.

It was selfless acts like these that made Toji realise he was in love with you.

You'd always been so selfless, haven't you?

Eventually, Toji began to show you affection, began being the husband you deserved. You didn't change much, responding the same way you always had, a smile and a submissive nod.

One day, you had off-handedly mentioned to him how you don't think its safe for Megumi to be left with the Zenin clan.

The next day, Toji had returned with the news that he and Megumi were no longer associated with the Zenin clan. An act of love.

However, this act of love turned out to be the worst decision he'd ever made because 6 months later, you'd handed him the divorce papers.

"What is this?" Toji asked, frowning at the contents of the paper.

"Divorce papers. Now, I've already packed my bags, Megumi is still at school with Gojo so you can talk to him later. Don't worry, I'll explain that I found someone else or you can say that it was you who dumped me- whatever story you wanna go with, Toji. I'm fine with it!" You said nonchalantly as you rolled out your suitcases.

"Y/n. I- what are you talking about? What is the need for this?!" Toji demanded, slamming the papers on the table. "Why are you leaving?!"

You looked confused. "Huh? I thought you'd be happy?" You shook your head. "Toji, we are not a real couple. Now, you'd be free to marry whoever you want, and I can move on with my life."

"What are you saying?"

"A marriage of convenience." You smiled. "That's what you said on our first night. Now, you're free."

"No- why? Why now?" Toji asked, blocking the doorway.

"Well, I was gonna leave you after the first month. But then I saw how Zenin clan treated you and I realised you were just a victim in this. If I'd left, I knew the repercussions would've been deadly for you. So I stayed. Then you brought Megumi, so more the reason to stay. But when you told me you'd left the clan, oh! I was so happy! I'd have left the same day, but I wanted to make sure they didn't come after you or Megumi later. So I waited for a few more months and now we're here!" You explained with glee. "Now, you can sign those papers and send them over whenever you feel like-"

"No."

"No?"

"No." Toji repeated, tears in his eyes. "No. You- you're not leaving. You can't. I still- I need you. I love you."

"Is this about money? Because I can still send you some even after we're separated." You sighed and tried to move past him. "Toji~ don't make this harder than it needs to be. Move aside, please." But Toji shook his head and hugged you, his large form completely engulfing yours, and he sneakily threw your bags to the side.

"No. You can't do this to me." He said, hugging you tighter when you tried to wriggle out of his arms. "I love you, Y/n. I fucking love you!"

"Toji, just sign-" Toji pulled away from you, grabbing your chin gently before slamming his lips against yours.

"We can leave, huh? We can go somewhere you like, spend away some time, hm?" He kissed you again when you tried to turn him down. "Just the two of us! I can show you how good I can be. I- I promise, I won't ever hurt you again, I'll be the best husband! I'd do anything for you!"

"Anything?"

"Anything."

"Then sign the goddamn papers, Toji." You pushed him off, but he fell to his knees, once again blocking the door.

"Please don't do this." He begged, on his knees, hugging your torso. "I was made for you. Don't do this."

"Stop this, Toji. You're acting like a child. You don't need me anymore, so stop being so selfish." You said, throwing away your bags and hopping over him to get to the door.

"I'll kill myself." That stopped you dead in your tracks. Toji walked up behind you. "If you step outside of this house, Y/n, I swear to God, I'll kill myself." This was his last resort, blackmailing you to stay. You're too selfless, you care too much.

You turned around, with tears in your eyes. Toji felt guilty for pulling on your heartstrings like this but he'd cross any line to make you stay.

"Y/n-"

You slapped him across the face.

"How dare you?" You asked. "How dare you use that against me?" You raised your hands to slap him again but Toji caught your wrist.

"I'm sorry, but it's true. I'll kill myself if you leave. I'll have no purpose in life, nothing to look forward to if you're not here." Toji said, kissing your palm.

"Fine then." You pulled you hand away as Toji smiled. "I'll make sure to bring flowers over to your grave. Or would you like me to spread your ashes instead?" Toji's face never fell so fast. "If you wanna die, then so be it. I'm done feeling guilty for stuff I didn't do." You turned around to leave, only for Toji to grab you from behind and pull you to the basement (that he kept locked because its where he worked). You were freaking out as Toji dragged you down to the room he'd forbade you from ever entering. In a matter of seconds, Toji had grabbed something from the shelf and injected you with it.

Toji cooed sweetly as you fell limp in his arms. "Shh, go to sleep. You'll feel much better when you wake up." He stoked your hair for a few minuets before pulling out some cuffs and chaining you to the bed.

You think you dont have a reason to stay? Fine, Toji will remove that IUD device and give you a reason to stay.

Funnily enough, I've never been too big of a Jason Todd fan. Not because I don't like him, he's a great character, but because DC fails over and over again to give him justice and treat him right.

The number of times alone this boy has been beaten by his adoptive father, betrayed, and forgotten are far too many, far too much.

And the constant portrayal of Jason as this volatile, violent, mindless man is tiresome, lazy in all senses of the word and overdone. I understand that Jason was unstable after he left the pit, I mean, who wouldn't? The trauma of his death alone could've sent anyone crazy, but then to experience everything else afterwards, including having to come to terms that Bruce not only did not kill his murder but also replaced him, leaving Jason to grieve what was once his and what he should've gotten, of course he'd be less than okay.

Again, I'm not the biggest Jason Todd fan but I do wish more people would see just how much good Jason has in his heart, how kind and gentle he can be once his walls are down, when he's no longer constantly analyzing your actions and wondering why would you bother talking to him, getting closer to him.

In my opinion, a man who is so gentle with children, who constantly gives second, third, and fourth chances to people who don't deserve it, who despite it all still wants to make a change and protect the city that failed him, couldn't possibly be anything but the most caring partner. Not just partner, no, also brother and friend.

We all know what he did to Tim and Damian, there are reasons, such as his mental instability at the time and rage, and though those are not excuses, I believe Jason would still drop everything to go save his family. He might complain, he might brood, but family is something important to him even when just looking at them hurts him. He lost his loving mother, stepmother, far too early and it's not hard to imagine that even with all the pain and grief inside his torn heart, the little boy inside Jason still craves the warmth of a family.

Just look at the way he treats his friends, at the way he helps them through situations no one else would, how caring and attentive he is. Jason is gentle, sure, he is rough and mean and he's got blood on his hands, but Jason is made of love.

Jason was made to be loved.

So I think, whether platonic or romantically, Jason would treat you so well. He'd scold you for not wearing warm clothes during winter, "We're in Gotham, you fucking moron, you wanna freeze to death?", all while wrapping you with his jacket or scarf. He'd make sure you're eating at least something every day, and if not, he would immediately put you under his arm, maybe over his shoulder, and take you to the nearest food chain he could find, "I don't want to hear you complaining about headaches when all you had today was a cup of coffee and gum.".

Lord, he'd be torn between freaking out and being extremely annoyed that you got hurt, be it at work, a fight, or just out of clumsiness. But no matter what, his hands would always be so, so gentle when touching you. The tip of his fingers brushing under the injury, as light as a breeze, his other hand holding the back of your neck, or your bicep, perhaps even your hand just to make sure you're there, with him.

Jason would both hush you gently, "I know, sweetheart, we're almost done.", and also tease because he's a little shit at heart, "If you had a little more awareness than a ten year old this wouldn't have happened, idiot."

And physical touches? Oh, love, Jason is a sucker for intimacy.

I know for a fact he wouldn't be comfortable for a long time with anyone in his personal space due to the torture he went through. The trauma would make his skin crawl any time someone got too close or brushed past him, he'd hate it so much because it makes him weak but also because he can't let anyone try to hug him without feeling sick to his stomach.

And with you it's no different. It would take a long time, a lot of trust being built up, conflict and confessions, maybe he'd even open up to you with his head on your lap as you brushed his hair softly, a big, big step for him after years of not letting anyone close. He'd tell you about the Joker, about having hope in Bruce, about his biological mother. And he'd feel vulnerable like a child when you wipe his tears gently without a word.

Once he starts craving your touch, though, regardless if you two have a platonic or romantic relationship, Jason is putty in your hands. Forehead kisses when you part ways, cuddling on the couch while he reads and you're on your phone, thighs touching when sitting close, even a little bit of hand holding when he's stressed and needs to play with your fingers.

He's like a big cat that's constantly making his way onto your chest, stealing your breath and making biscuits on your skin, making sure you're giving him sufficient pats every day.

It's a little part of him that he's barely able to properly allow space for. There's still so much hurt in Jason, so much confusion and desperation, hatred and upset, that he'd probably still close off sometimes, try acting tough so you'd see how fucked up he is, how he's not truly worth of your love.

And yet.

And yet all it'd take for him to go soft and pliant in your hands would be a single touch, cupping his cheeks, brushing his skin softly with your thumbs, right under his pretty emerald eyes, making sure his gaze is on you and only you. Just like that, he'd slump his shoulders and bring you into his arms, breathing a sigh of relief and squeezing you close, your heartbeats synching.

He wouldn't remember when he started feeling safest in your arms but it'd feel like it was since forever. Like there was no one else but you.

Jason was made to be loved, though he is a little broken and a little tainted, lost like a child and hateful like a sinner, your love might just be his salvation, something he's greedy for, selfish for, even when he's so hesitant of somehow hurting you.

this is such a stinky take. like two thumbs down. not only is this just kinda nasty towards a young actor who objectively killed it as luffy, but oda literally put out a note about the live action saying that even though iñaki’s luffy was different from his own creation, it worked because of his performance. so yeah, i think him passing the hat down wasnt “performative”, it was a genuine show of appreciation that iñaki outdid himself portraying his most iconic character. also the source you provided on “oda not being listened to” is literally just an offhand comment that he needed to be convinced to add in garp early. other than that, oda himself has been incredibly involved in OPLA. so like…(hands you the copeium)

Anon I literally have no beef with Iñaki, I don't even know the guy. He did a fine job with the script he got, and you're assuming I'm saying Oda actually hates him or something. Of course he wouldn't, but two instances of an on camera hat pass down - especially with an author who hates being on camera - seemed a bit too extra. You need to remember Netflix are a multi million dollar company who had to market this live action to an old fanbase like their lives depended on it, and I highly doubt Oda, Mayumi Tanaka, OR Iñaki just decided they should have a passing of the hat ceremony on camera.

I'm not dissing Iñaki at all, and your reaction is exactly why it's hard to talk about this live action in terms of the insane marketing tactics Netflix pushed out - because people love these actors and think any form of criticism is hating on them. I do not hate these actors, I'm literally just pointing out the crazy extent Netflix went through for this.

And when it comes to the Garp thing? Oda told them he hated the Garp addition, and they 'convinced' him anyways. Oda was literally not being listened to as they obviously weren't taking no as an answer on Garp, because why the hell would you not listen to the creator for that. I understand you obviously like the live action, but you can like it while also understanding Netflix's treatment of creators. Netflix have never been good with or to their creators, I simply don't like the company as a whole due to their treatment, and there's no way in the world they'd spend extra millions of dollars to reshoot scenes and redo scenes just because Oda doesn't like it.

It's unrealistic to think any set works like that, especially for a western, English production. Oda has certainly said a lot for this project too! He even said "There were no compromises!" but obviously there were. Unless he's saying there were no compromises with Netflix, then that's probably true.

I'm not calling Oda a liar, I'm not ragging on Iñaki, I'm simply looking through the marketing of a multi million dollar company. If you don't wanna hear it, that's fine! You can just block the tag 'oplatalks' and you never have to see me talk about it again, and we can both peacefully exist as One Piece fans with our own opinions. Okay! 👍

remember how he was chasing nezuko around? yeaaaa.....he’s doing that to the both of you now...

don’t be too harsh, he really cares about your opinion of him and, at times, finds himself getting insecure about your relationship

it's not that he truly cares what other people have to say about your relationship but it does hurt that he hears it a good chunk of the time

just gently hold his face and tell him that you love him very much, he really needs it

be careful though cause he’ll get really dramatic and loud and go “ha! you hear that guys! my girlfriend thinks i am amazing and she told me loves me!” or go bright red and now you have a koala that is determined to cling to you, crying into your haori

speaking of sleeping, he loves sleeping on your chest, close to your heart with his ear right on top of it

with his super good hearing abilities, he likes to listen to your resting heart rate to fall asleep and it works like a charm

he listens so closely that everything else drowns out, it's his favorite sound in the whole world second only to your voice

he memorizes what you’re heart beat sounds like and uses that memory to peacefully fall asleep when he’s away on missions

or conversely, he taps his chest in the same rhythm as your heartbeat when he needs help calming down during missions

he could hear your very presence and immediately know it was you since he’s memorized that as well

“ Oh heeeyyyy y/nnnn!” “zeni, how did you know it was me? i was 15 feet away from the door.” “i memorized your resting heart beat so I just knew it was you!!” *heart squeeze*

during missions, it truly is the thought of you that gets him through the worst of it and immediately after he's done, he's rushing through most of japan to get back to you im sobbing pls he's so cute

he has a knack for doing and saying romantic shit randomly and not noticing how smooth he really is

“you know…i really love you and i’m glad you’re still with me. I want to spend a long time with you, whether it be killing demons or just settling down, i’d follow you anywhere”

now imagine he said that with a nice, warm smile and soft eyes, looking directly at you

and now all of a sudden, he's a lil poet im-

he just…loves you very much and is a total simp

now onto the part i am dreading…wash day

face it, we are in the taisho era in 'ye olden japan', ain’t no conditioner or shampoos or products at all made for your hair

HOWEVER!! there is aloe vera and many different herbs you can find and thank god for that!

just ask shinobu for help on making it and voila! you have shampoo and conditioner made from aloe vera and other herbs that shinobu herself made!! do not worry black woman, your curls are saved!

with that being said, zenitsu heard about it and when you explained to him that your hair is different and requires more care, he was on top of it!

whenever your products are running low, he's the first one to go to the butterfly mansion to ask for a refill! especially, if you've gone on a mission, he diligently checks those bottles to see how much you have left and makes sure they're full before you come back

he had always loved your curls, always playing with it to help him calm down or just as a stim

learning to take care of your hair was actually quite simple although he did mess up a few times but nothing you can’t fix 

he really loves to take his time brushing out all the knots and absolutely loves when you melt into him anytime he massages your scalp during shampooing

he really loves to take care of you no matter but doing your hair is like his favorite pastime, you're relaxed, safe away from demons, and he feels like he's filling out his boyfriend role

when you guys have time, you both sit together and do finger coils or twist each curl and then he’ll sit with you on a windy hill to help it dry or just fan you until it's dry enough man of dedication

he really loves wash day and counts down the days since you last washed your hair to make sure he's there when it is time to wash it

even if you're a lazy natural, if you let him because he really really really really wants to, he'll just do your hair by himself

but for plot sake, let’s say you both go on a mission and you're forced to cut your hair short because it's caught in a demon's grasp

whether it bothered you or not doesn't really matter because he is pissed

fun fact! in 'ye olden japan', a girl's hair means a lot but mainly that they are loved and cared for so when cut, it basically means that that she has been banished or rejected from her home to the streets

now to put that all into context, zenitsu is livid and worries that people will think you're loved at home by him. that demon gets the beating of a lifetime before it's killed but even then he's really upset and blames himself

it's a whole thing but he just really cares about you is all.

but to wrap it all up, he’d do anything for you and to this day he always thanks you for staying with him and for loving him the way you do, he appreciates you more than you think

oh! and when he saw gramps again, he told him everything about you and as he was leaving, he declared “hey, gramps! by the time i come back, the girl i was talking about will be my wife and then you’ll get to see her!! i know you’ll love her!!”

THANK YOU for your take on this race.

I was reading everyone else's posts on this and going 'Am I crazy?' because I also have utmost faith in Charles and am sad he didn't win today, but even I can acknowledge that Carlos drove well today (and I am definitely not a Carlos fan).

I feel like I'm seeing a lot of Charles 'fans' saying he's not selfish enough to take wins, people saying Charles was screwed over by the team, and some other people saying Carlos is the better driver. And they're not accepting anyone disagreeing with them.

I disagree with all of that. Charles does have it in him to fight tooth and nail for a win. This weekend the team did maximize what they could. And no, Carlos is not a better driver, because he hasn't shown he can beat the best driver currently on the field which is Max.

I feel like my opinion is relatively objective. Where are the people here who aren't so one-sided?

You aren't crazy. If you know strategy and saw the numbers then everything makes sense. Charles didn't get screwed over, if he'd had the better pace he 100% would have said so. He didn't this weekend and he knew that. Charles is smart, he can tell how things are going and he really lost a lot of pace on that first stint.

And Charles is not perfect and I don't expect him to be. Charles is a talented driver and we have so many more races for him to prove that(also he did great this race too)

Carlos on average isn't better, once again going off of data here. But that doesn't mean he isn't stronger in some areas and on some tracks.

People who are upset like to fall back on these older narratives without really looking at what actually happened here. I ignore it. People are valid to be upset with the result but sometimes they say some wild shit. I just don't engage with it. If people wanna look foolish then I can't stop them.

But you are totally valid in your feelings. And just ignore people creating extreme narratives one way or the other. Enjoy the fact we had a great day for Ferrari (and Carlos and Charles celebrating was so cute)

If it was bad I would say so(I'd be the first person screaming about those team orders if I thought they were bs), but this was a really good race for Ferrari.

Half of the system is hypersexual. Including the littles. I've been hypersexual since I was bodily 5 years old. Whatcha gonna do, give me therapy about it? I need it.

Have a lot of problematic behaviors. So what. Who doesn't. You aint pure, bitch

Using names that I wasn't born with. Because apparently people get mad about that. I'm not elaborating. Y'all just wanna trigger ppl with OCD all day, huh.

I'm unpalatable. DID, OSDD and other dissociative disorders aren't pretty or happy or easy to deal with. It's dark and dirty and grungy and sucky and I become an asshole sometimes.

Stop expecting systems to be perfect or having perfect labels and perfect names or perfect existences. We had to do whatever we could to survive, and that means doing morally questionable shit. That means taking up space. That means stop judging people when they do something you don't like. Because they probably are not in recovery or in therapy or getting the right treatment or wanting to get treatment or needing everything you needed.

Okay so, I watched the Miraculous Ladybug movie...

Originally I wasn't going to because the show was such a massive disappointment (mainly Seasons 4 and 5), and I mentally put my foot down saying I wasn't gonna consume anymore official content from the franchise. But morbid curiosity be damned, my God, it was probably everything I could have asked for from a movie for the franchise.

(Spoilers Ahead)

I'm gonna start with my critiques, with a lack of chronology, only so I can save the good parts for the end. I have a lot of nice things to say and I wanna end the post on a good note!

They really could've spent the time it took for Tikki and Marinette's song for the kwamis to explain the powers to Marinette and Adrien (and, in turn, the audience that might not know about/haven't seen the series). I love that song, and I thoroughly enjoyed Tikki's more sassy mentor-like position she takes in the movie, but I do feel that the powers are a bit difficult to understand if you're a newcomer to the show.

The fact Plagg, my favorite character from the series, got dumbed down to a fart joke made me so upset. It felt a lot like when Plagg got dumbed down to purely cheese puns and poor writing, he didn't feel as significant to Adrien's side of the story as Tikki was to Marinette's. RIP Plagg with nuance. :') To be completely honest, I think Plagg was really the only downgrade in characterization here though.

Did anyone else notice Nooroo had a different English VA in the movie??? I heard it and was like "WAIT YOU'RE NOT BEN DISKIN NOOOOO" haha. In fact it made me TERRIFIED they replaced Tikki and Plagg too, but I'm so happy they didn't. I don't hate the new voice tho! It does fit the character, but definitely leaned too grown-up and feminine sounding for me. I got too used to the squeaky, scared little baby voice Ben gave him. (EDIT: I actually really like the new voice lowkey, I think it's just as good as Ben but I do miss Ben for sure haha)

Obviously, the pacing had to heavily rely on montages throughout to move the story along due to the 90-minute runtime. I think of all children's film franchises to deserve a trilogy, this was the one, especially because of its international and overlapping appeal between its target audience and older fans. If we got the 3-act structure of this film evenly divided between 3 separate movies, it would've had much more time to flesh out the current cast of characters and narrative they were trying to tell. It's definitely the movie's biggest fault in my opinion, but I think fans of the series who have a baseline knowledge of the plot at the very least will enjoy the movie (unless they don't like musicals, I suppose).

I thought the best way to describe what it felt like watching boils down to "if someone took the series and wrote it into a 10k-to-20k-word oneshot fic." And I mean this affectionately, but with most fanfiction, generally you'd have pre-established knowledge of the world and how it works. The movie kind of goes off the assumption you have a baseline knowledge, so I wouldn't recommend it as a starting point for the show (tho I'd NEVER recommend the actual show to anyone), if only because it's so jarringly different in terms of their powers and characters. You'd only be setting up your poor friends for disappointment. :'D

The songs were fun, they're nothing crazy, but they're adorable. My only complaint for the songs is Marinette's singing VA being different than her speaking VA, another common complaint I've shared with others. Her singing VA is a wonderful singer, don't get me wrong, but Christina Vee/Valenzuela is such a talented singer and I would've loved to hear her sing for Marinette. I know Bryce wasn't singing for Adrien either, but his singing VA sounded similar enough that it wasn't as bothersome.

Okay, the best parts, let's go:

Now, admittedly, the story is rushed to hell and back. As a writer, I can't understate that. But what I can give the writing props for, unlike the show, is having its narrative not get overblown and out-of-focus. By the end of the series, there's so many characters and micro-arcs to keep track of -- Kagami's friendship with Lila, Luka's awareness of Ladybug & Chat Noir's identities, Alix being forced out of the picture at the start of Season 5, the ZagHeroes and Fae from the two specials that aired between S3 & S4, the fact I could go on should speak volumes enough -- that the actual story of the show crumbles beneath the weight of it all.

The movie condenses this narrative, and in doing so, it sets up the main characters of this film and what's looking like the next film, should this movie succeed. The main focus is on Marinette, Adrien and his father Gabriel, all of whom are well-known as the main heroes and villain of the series respectively. Through their stories, we somehow have that "vintage era" Miraculous charm that the first season or two of the show had, and also gave an ACTUALLY GOOD AND SATISFYING CONCLUSION TO THE STORY -- Sorry, I got sidetracked, we'll get back to that point later.

We also have Alya, Nino, Chloe and Nathalie, all in the movie BUT as a minor focus. The trio of kids get a bit more screentime than Nathalie, but they're present just enough to imply that they'll be important for the next film (Which I assume will have a return of Rena Rouge, Carapace, Queen Bee and Mayura respectively).

The animation, the big selling point of this film for most people, is incredible. Even seeing leaks before the movie dropped, you could tell this thing had cost big bucks for its animation. Apparently it was one of France's highest-budget animated films? It was gorgeous, I don't have much complaints with it, the style they were going for was just eye candy animation. Everyone's designs got elevated in this style, I think the only criticism I have for that is that Alya's hairstyle could've been changed to reflect the volume it has in the show, it looks a bit too thin and flat for my liking. But I guess that's just personal preference.

Master Fu! He's back, and he's a cooky AND wise old man! I was ecstatic to see him back. Once he was written out of the show in S3's finale, the show hasn't felt the same tbh. Idk why, but I didn't realized I missed him as much as I did until seeing him at the start of the movie. XD

No sentimonster bullshit shenanigans, THANK GOD. I really like the concept of senti-people, but good lord, the show's story was overly complex as it was, the movie didn't need to go making it worse. (Note, I got nothing against the theories! I just can't stand how the show executed that aspect of the plotline. It's awfully vague for absolutely no reason and screams that it was shoe-horned into the plot around mid-S3 for fan interest. The show only suffers from the inclusion of implications for the theories.)

And I'm SO HAPPY they gave Adrien some motherfucking agency. That scene where his father walks down the stairs looking disheveled af, demanding Adrien listen to him only for Adrien to say he doesn't have a father or that he lost his father a long time ago?!? Amazing. Bare minimum shit, yes, but it was executed so well. And him being an angsty teen, drowning out his solitude through music, and getting a bit of an ego through his Chat Noir persona? When I tell you this movie feels like a fanfic (affectionately), I mean it. It feels like the writers were actually competent enough to understand how to make a character 3-dimensional.

Same goes for Marinette. As much as I miss Rose, Juleka, Mylene and Alix being her friends, I think having Marinette start as a loner with no friends made her parallel with Adrien's feelings of isolation. Her arc of gaining her confidence and befriending Alya, Nino and Adrien, while Adrien's arc focuses on his grief and learning to open up to others again, was a nice contrast. And both of them actually felt equally important, which was probably the best part for me. (Side-tangent; If they introduce Kitty Section into a possible next film (which would make sense since they're a band and this movie is a musical adaptation), Marinette could befriend the old friend squad through the band. Maybe they could even be manipulated by Mayura in the next movie, and we could get a 5v5 battle between the Miraculous 5 and Rose, Juleka, Mylene, Luka and Ivan's amoks...? Just an idea I thought of on the spot.)

I didn't hate any of the songs, and the general consensus I've seen is that Hawk Moth's villainous song in the midst of the film was the best one (an opinion of which I agree, I had watched this with my cousin and we both agreed to start the song over after listening to it the first time, and it was the only song we did that to on our viewing). It also made the transformation into becoming Hawk Moth truly feel like a Jeckyll and Hyde style situation for Gabriel, like Hawk Moth was the alter-ego he could use to let his grief consume him and drive him mad. I'm a sucker for Jeckyll and Hyde tropes, and while it might've been intended, that's how I'm interpreting it. It was honestly a great change, and I joked that the top hat during the song made Hawk Moth officially a Tumblr sexyman lmao.

The 3-way reveal. WE GOT THE 3-WAY REVEAL. NO PREACHY, TIME-WASTING REVERSALS, NO BULLSHITTING FROM ASTRUC. WE ACTUALLY GOT THE 3-WAY REVEAL BETWEEN LADYBUG, CHAT NOIR AND HAWK MOTH. And it was just as fucking fantastic as the show ABSOLUTELY SHOULD HAVE made it. There was NO EXCUSES for the show's ending for Gabriel/Hawk Moth to be as atrocious as it was, nor for Adrien to be completely fucking absent and not have an identity reveal -- and I refuse to let anyone say executive meddling was the reason for it. Jeremy Zag was Astruc's executive, and clearly with the movie being his passion project, Zag cares enough about the franchise that he wouldn't prevent Astruc from writing a good story. But Astruc is a horrible writer, whose faults really began to shine the more tone-deaf and preachy his writing of the show got. Istg, half of the episode's "lessons" was just Astruc venting his frustrations against fans who had valid criticism of the writing. But goddamn, it's gotta be real embarrassing for Astruc to have his own franchise/story made and written better for a 90-minute film by his colleague than he could write with 5 seasons and over 100 episodes...Yikes. XD

When I tell you some parts of the movie -- the kwamis having a bit more agency themselves (Nooroo popping out of the brooch was so cute!!! :'D), the characters in general, Gabriel's story (tho it could've used more GabeNath imo lol), the focus on the characters while also having some engaging & wild battles, the long-awaited identity reveal, the masquerade ball trope -- felt like aspects the series just completely didn't have or vastly underutilized, it's insane. The difference between the film and series is like night and day.

Overall, it wasn't the best-written movie, but it's EXACTLY what I assume most Miraculous fans desperately craved from the show that crumbled its quality in its hands, spat on it, threw it in a garbage bin and lit it on fire. I genuinely saw parts of this movie that paralleled the rewrite fic I wanna write for the series soon (THE CAT IN ADRIEN'S ROOM WHEN HE FINDS THE RING BRUH), and unlike the series, which inspired me by how bad it was, the movie had a few parts that were so well-written that it inspired me to write scenes as good as those (THE FUCKIN PART WITH LADYBUG SAYING "I need to go..." AND THE DESPERATION IN CHAT'S "...Don't...").

I feel similar after-the-fact as I did with the Super Mario Bros Movie -- imperfect, but satisfactory to pre-established fans of the franchise. If anyone you know ever wants to give the franchise a chance, I'd honestly exclusively recommend this movie, and maybe S1-S2. A solid 8/10, only having a high ranking because of how much fun and entertaining this film was to me, a fan since around S2's airing.

First impression

Who is that. That's supposed to be Jon Kent?? I thought Jon Kent had black hair. He looks nothing like the character. If they turn him into the typical jerk jock character who has a huge ego and is always cheating on girls I'm gonna bite someone.

(funnily enough I greatly dislike the fact that Jon now looks like his comic counterpart and matches his family's looks. Having his own unique look that made him stand out compared to his family fit his character much better and visualized his feelings of being the odd one out in his family)

Impression now

HOLY SHIT IS HIS CHARACTER AMAZING LIKE OH MY GOD??? I was NOT expecting him to be the most layered and complex character in the show. The way they made you believe his character would be just another cookie cutter jock and flipped it upside down, he's so incredibly sweet and helpful, and has the biggest heart of gold. Powers or not, he IS the true Superboy of the show. And as much as I adore his positives, his flaws make me wanna scream into a pillow ya know?? His flaws are a reflect how he was raised/parented perfectly. He's the Glass Child of the family: his parents look through him and his needs for Jordan, he's expected to handle everything on his own and not cause any problems, take care of Jordan for their parents when they can't, all of that comes out in his character flaws when he's putting people's needs over his to a very unhealthy degree and makes himself be happy when he shouldn't have to be so he doesn't bother anyone.

I could talk about him for hours but I won't, just know there is SO MUCH going with him. It drives me crazy.

Favorite moment

Wow, um, he has so many I love but one of my favorites is when he takes Jordan's letter to his ex and reads it out loud in a british accent for some reason. And, much like Gar's scenes, when he's allowed to have emotion. It's always a good episode when Jon snaps and yells at someone. Him yelling at Jordan for spying on him (right after Jordan got mad at Clark for doing the same thing) and acting like he isn't allowed to talk to Sarah just because Jordan likes her, then slamming his fist against the staircase just so it'd hurt Jordan's super hearing was TOP TIER. Wish he got pissed at Jordan more often, especially after how awful Jordan treated him in season 3.

Idea for a story

Powers. Just give him powers omg it's not that hard writers. You give everyone else, including side characters, powers.

In relation to that, most of my story ideas for him are in Escapism and I loved giving him powers that aren't just a copy of Superman's and fit him as a person. Giving him empathy powers was the smartest thing I've ever done.

Favorite relationship

Jon and Clark. It can be so wholesome but also awful a scene later. Clark neglects Jon the worst. He ditched him to go flying with Jordan right after he promised Jon to turn the daily chores into a father-son activity for them to do together and after Jon admitted some concerning things that should have made Clark worried about Jon's mental state. Their relationship is so fucked up but I'm drawn to it because of how it could heal if the writers didn't brush it all under the rug.

Oh Daemyra...the ship of Rhanerya and Daemon Targaryen. In real life its a disgusting scenario, especially as someone who actually was molested by their uncle growing up. It's a special kind of awkward.

My problem doesn't lie with the ship however, at least not today. It's all you crazy ass motherfuckers who decide to make it your entire existence to defend this ship, all the while being absolute douche camels to anyone else who, gods forbid, dares to ship anything different from you.

I've had this thought running through my mind for a while now.

What if, off-camera, Jay actually heard the Operator speak during his final moments? What were the words he heard, you may ask? Warning: very long theory under the cut.

Now, if I recall correctly, there WAS a bakery nearby. I said to them "Slenderman, let me go get you some rye bread." Now, I'm unsure if eldritch horrors ENJOY rye bread, but I assure you that Slenderman does! Now, this was on a Tuesday, which was good because rye bread was always fresh on Tuesday. They made sourdough bread on Monday, and threw it out Wednesday - or rather, they sold it at a DISCOUNT for people wanting to feed the ducks, and probably at the end of the day they finally threw it all out. I- I don't recall! I DO remember a man who would bring his son to the bakery every Wednesday, then go feed the ducks. He would buy ALL of the sourdough bread. Of course, y'know, you're not supposed to feed the ducks sourdough bread at all! It swells up in their stomachs and they all die. It, uh- At least, that's what I've heard. Y'know, I- I never saw any ducks die myself, but I did notice the substantial decrease in the duck population over the course of a few years. I just never thought to stop the man and tell him that he was killing the ducks by feeding them sourdough bread! And if you want my opinion on the matter? Heh, and I told Slenderman this as well! If you wanna feed ducks, or birds of any kind, for that matter - it's best to buy seed. I mean, when you think about it, breads of any sort don't occur in nature, they don't grow on trees or spring up from the bushes! I don't think birds know what to do with bread. What was I sayin'? Oh- oh! Yes, yes - so I bought Slenderman some rye bread, what a fine day it was!

Or maybe Jimin didn't share the exact meanings of his songs because he didn't want to and it has nothing to do with not wanting to expose teenagers to something? Ever thought about that? Jimin is extremely private, we know that. He opened up to us through his music and gave us a hint of the backstory for every song. But if anyone expected him to go into detail just doesn't know him at all.

I personally don't think there's anything wrong with keeping in mind that his audience also consists of minors. You would never hear swear words or talks about mature topics on family friendly tv shows either. Just because you and me are grown ups doesn't mean everyone is. And it's not like he makes his music kid friendly in general. He just decided to skip the MV parts that might not be appropriate for a younger audience. That was his choice and I personally think that's fine. Because in the end, if you want to see the make out scenes the MV is just one click away.

Yes, I know, he also stopped himself talking more about the meaning of Like Crazy and used minors watching as an excuse but I think Jimin still gave enough hints as to what the song means that adults most likely should catch on. And I really don't think he would've said anything else, even if minors watching wasn't a thing. Do you really think Jimin would sit there and talk about how he lost himself in alcohol to escape reality? Because I can't. That's just not him. And he definitely shouldn't change just because some people want him to become explicit.

Sometimes I feel like people are trying to find ways to criticise Jimin just for the sake of criticising him. Jimin is a very considerate person. He also tries to keep a clean image which, judging by the hate he's getting although he's nothing but kind snd sweet, I completely understand. It's not like he's completely avoiding the topic. He's drinking alcohol, we saw him drinking alcohol on camera before, is talking about alcohol, talked about tough times and how much the pandemic affected him. So why is it a bad thing if he doesn't want to do drunken lives or smoke?

All of BTS created an unhealthy parasocial relationship with the fans. But that's a whole other topic, in my opinion. I personally won't criticise Jimin for being aware of his fans not all being adults yet, the same way I won't criticise Jungkook for not considering it because in the end the parents are responsible to regulate what kids are watching and what not.

I'm starting to think I was dreaming the last ask I sent... I swear, I vividly remember sending you an ask gushing about your art, how nice you are, and just rambling about what all has been going on in life, but man... /j

Also, sorry if it seems like I only send asks after tf art, I swear I love everything you do, but the transformers stuff is the only stuff I know anything about, so it's the only thing I really have confidence in blabbering about.

I did an oopsy and doordashed Timmy's to work today, so I got donuts and a breakfast bagel sandwhich to eat today. Good thing, too! I have been /HUNGRY/. We managed to ship out almost two hundred packages today, and that's with just three people who can pack, and one who can ship orders. I'm Super duper happy about it! Everything else has been absolutely crazy. I've decided to go through all my books in my closet, and the books on my shelves, and start bocing some in better shaped boxes, so I can donate them. Gonna end up checking with people I know if they want any first, though. Also gonna go through my stuffed animals, find ones that I'm not too attached to, and donate them too. After washing them first, of course.

I have also fallen into a hole of true crime podcasts, which I'm pretty surprised about. Cause, like. I don't like hearing about how bad people can be? I dislike people enough, I just. Don't wanna absolutely ruin my opinion on humans anymore. Like, I know there are good people out there, really really good people. But I also don't really like the vast majority of publicized humanity. You always hear about all the awful things... the worst of humanity shouts and screams their opinions, all the time. Broadcasts em to the world. And, it's difficult for the truly good people to be heard...

On a very much less heavy topic, my nephew is in town! I haven't seen him in about a year, so it's nice to see him. Even if small children make me super anxious and uncomfy. We're also looking at an August vacation, which I'll need to prep for cause I'm pale as a ghost and it'll be three days straight of being outdoors.

It's good to see you in my inbox again, I was starting to wonder how you were doing.

It sounds like you're having a good time of it, donuts for breakfast is a special treat hehe. And being busy at work is a good too, being productive is always a plus. It hasn't been that long since I went through my book collection, so I feel your pain there. Hoarding books (and drawing paper for some reason) is probably my one weakness in trying to keep my space tidy. I'm running out of shelves T_T

So far as your new interest in true crime podcasts, congratulations on finding a new source of enjoyment. If something intrigues you, I say don't let your preconceived notions about what you enjoy and don't enjoy. I must admit that I dislike podcasts myself, just because I can never focus on them, the same goes for audio books for some reason. But I do understand their appeal, and am always happy to hear someone is enjoying them. I hope you have fun on your vacation, I too am pale and require sunscreen if I go out without a good layer over my skin. Some of my friends have said I look like a vampire with my complexion and dark circles, which left me going "Thanks guys". I wish you no sunburn and good weather for your vacation!

As far as what I've been up to: I've been working on my webtoon, trying to figure out a schedule for making it that works, building up courage to actually post it and you know...actually get the financial stuff in place to start the business aspect of my art? hehe....

My main job has picked up for the season, so I'm switching gears and getting ready for less and less free time, and I'm trying to incorporate some classical music into my pianist job while bracing for spring-time "Special Music" rush.

Also, I don't mind that you only ask after my Transformers work. I don't expect anyone to enjoy every single thing I post, there are a thousand fandoms out there and it would be ignorant to expect everyone to know about all my interests.

Now this was on a Tuesday, which was good because rye bread was always fresh on Tuesday. They made sourdough bread on Monday, and threw it out Wednesday. Or rather they...sold it at a discount for people who wanting to feed the ducks and then...probably at the end of the day, finally, they threw it all out. I don't recall. I do remember a man who would bring his son to the bakery every Wednesday, and... and go feed the ducks. He would buy all of the sourdough bread, of course, you know, you're not supposed to feed the ducks sourdough bread at all. It swells up in their stomach and then they all die, and, uh— at least...at least that's what I've heard. Ya know, I never saw any ducks die myself, but I did notice a substantial decrease in duck population over the course of a few years. I just never thought to stop the man and tell him that he was killin' the ducks by feeding them sourdough bread. And if you want my opinion on the matter — and I told Orville this as well — if you wanna feed ducks or birds of any kind for that matter, especially buy seed. I mean, when you think about it, breads of any sort don't occur in nature. They don't grow on trees or spring up from the bushes! I don't think birds know what to do with bread. What was I saying? Oh, oh, yes, yes. So I bought Orville some rye bread. What a fine day it was

I've gone back to feeling a bit adrift . . . I feel like I am in a good position, very close with a number of people - but I don't think I'm anyone's number one. (In fairness, I don't know that I have a ride-or-die either, just a lotta people that I really like and would be happy to continue working with.

Interestingly, I will say that I've seen a bit of negative chatter re: Astyn, and I'll come right out and say that I like them! They were one of the first people to welcome me post tribal switch and they've just been plain *nice* to me and I see no reason not to reciprocate. Maybe the two of us could somehow get a whole UTR thing going I'd be down for that.

Also finally chatting with Alex more - I broke and addressed the elephant in the room first (we now only have one extra vote between us and should strategize on how to use it at some point) and I'm reasonably certain (it's SO hard when you can't read body language) that he appreciated that.

AND I CAN'T MAKE A FREAKIN' PLAN cuz I don't know how anyone beyond my immediate group did all because Raffy was milliseconds faster on hitting enter than I was (and I'd actually like to send off to New York for a replay because there's NO FREAKIN' way that he wasn't hitting enter before the hosts were done talking. That's all I gotta say.

But I think Raffy also knew he was in danger, so I can't fault that. I'm probably in danger too (or I'm paranoid; I'll give it even odds) for being too freakin' old and too freakin' likeable (and too freakin' opinionated, but right now only my diary/the confessional booth knows that latter part).

Anyway, I'd really like to stop thinking about the game and instead go back to obsessing about other things . . . so more later.

Champ and I fuckin killed that challenge and I’m stoked that we’re in an alliance together! I’m not nervous for tribal but am torn because it feels like folks are gonna be gunnin’ for Michael. I’m gonna do my best to protect him but only hope it pays off.

We hit the merge! And my my my, I have so much shit going on it's crazy. I realized the only people I haven't really spoken to before merge were Michael and Raffy, but since the merge I kind of have just been talking about yellowjackets with Raffy, still haven't gotten around to talking with Michael but that's alright. I'm hoping that I'm on the winning tribe for this family feud thing, because I feel like there's a target on my back(put there by Raffy) and I'd really like it if I didn't have to feel like I need to play it so early on. I still don't trust anyone, of course, but right now I'm vibing the most with Kaleigh and Champ, and also with MH(Eman). The edgic definitely is super interesting, I'd like to think that I'm this under the radar player that people keep talking positive about, but I also have no idea, since it seems like(since last time they got UTRP5) that they are being talked about A LOT, by everyone, but in a positive way. So maybe it is me, who knows.

I also am majorly stressed about tribal council, to a point where it's almost unfun to actually play due to the anxiety. Why, you ask? Well, I got the read receipts on disadvantage in like....my first Idol hunt I think, which goes into effect in my next tribal council. Except the problem is, I NEVER WENT TO TRIBAL, so it's never been used. However, Trinica and AJ said they're only able to tell me how it messes up my game, AFTER tribal council, which makes it all the scarier. Can I calculate my moves based on what it does? Nope. So basically I have an advantage I know virtually nothing about now (insert yikes face here). I do know that if Raffy isn't safe, it seems like the smartest move to vote him out.

So Champ and I just had like an hour and a half call(and we're probably gonna call more later to talk about things) and like.....I don't wanna say I trust her but I really want to trust her. Like we out here vibing and I just hope she stays loyal bc I genuinely want to work with her so I think it's really good if she wants to work with me too. I feel like it would be wise to call w/Kaleigh at some point as well, just to get on top of things, but genuinely Kaleigh and Champ are the two people I want to be sitting at the end with. And I know, I know, you have to take goats along so that your game seems better and blahblahblah. Whatever, sue me. Also I genuinely don't know who is allied with who right now, but I do have theories. I think Kolby is probably in Alex's pocket, and if Alex is smart(which he is, in a very mischievous and tailored way) then he's definitely aligned with Raffy. I know MH might be close with Kolby as well, but maybe they won't tell him anything, if we(or I) stress the worries that I have surrounding that. Chances are that whatever we tell Kolby, makes a beeline right to Raffy, or at least to Alex, both of which aren't good. I definitely also think that Colin and Astyn have made their way back to Raffy, and also Colin apparently has a rather big mouth, so it's not wise to tell him anything of substance.

Champ and I also talked about who we'd want to get out, and the list as it stands is Raffy, then Alex, then Colin, in order of threat level. As it stands, the plan could be this: Kaleigh and I, and at least Jack don't have votes. There's a large possibility that more people than that don't have votes. But let's talk about what we are almost positive of. Kaleigh and Jack don't have votes, and neither do I. So, valid votes without extra votes are 9. If I use my extra vote, and Champ uses her extra vote and her normal vote, and MH votes with us, perhaps we'll be able to bring in Tony too, that gives us 5 votes. If we're lucky, the other votes will be scattered. If not, we'll either have majority, or go to rocks. At least that's the goal. I have no clue what's happening challenge wise, but we'll see. Stay tuned for more folks.

Ok so let’s get one thing straight. I still don’t trust none of these bitches. Especially since ya bitch doesn’t have a vote. HOWEVER, I think I’m making a plan. Most of the people in the Mystery Machine group(those of em w/votes) seem to want to vote Astyn, especially is good if MH can convince Tony to vote w/them. I’ve also heard Michael’s name from people like Kolby, and Colin seems to want to vote for Michael as well. Sooooo, if I’m lucky, the votes will be split somewhat between Michael and Astyn, sending one of them home. I don’t want to use my idol, because that will break the trust of everyone, so I just have to hope that tribal goes my way. Also, EVERYONE is coming out of the woodworks to talk w/me, I also have been trying to talk with others as well lol, since I kinda got a bit lax and didn’t do much talking for a bit. I'm excited for it, but there's not a ton of loyalty there, there's other people I wanna work with more. This group only formed because we played the codenames challenge together. I think I'm gonna try to reinstate the power rangers alliance with Raffy, Jack, and Astyn. BUT I also really wanna work with Eman and Alex, so I need to lay ground work there because we haven't been on a tribe together before.

It's fascinating seeing everyone keeping their cards so close to their chest for this first vote. Kolby and Zee both straight up asked me who I was thinking without any buildup but when I spun it back on Zee she was like "I don't have any big thoughts." Like, I know you suggested Michael to Kaleigh so you definitely have thoughts, you just suddenly don't want to share them with me? I know Eman and I will talk game today but we're at least having conversation outside of the game, too. Kaleigh and Michael are the two I feel genuinely solid with right now, and Champ, she's just hard to reach already and it makes me worried going forward. Kaleigh and I were thinking Asytn because they're one of the only two we haven't really met yet, and when Kaleigh floated it to Michael Michael floated it to me. So I think we're all solid as a trio, we just don't have a group chat or anything to make it official like Champ, Kaleigh, and I do. Jack it sounds like is also on board, at least for Astyn, but I don't know if it's because he and Michael are close or because he's just going along with what keeps him safe. Colin and I are dancing around giving up any information to each other and since he's tight with Zee I'm trying not to make the first move. Raffy and I haven't talked since before the challenge even kicked off, so I don't know where we stand, and Tony and I haven't talked since pre-merge but whatever.
