Worshipping Inanna / Ishtar

This is an informative post about how Inanna was worshipped, or believed to be worship, back in her time, and at the end I'll share how I worship her.

Ritual sex - her high priestess would have ritual sex (whether it was true sex or symbolic is unknown) with the new king to ensure his fortune.

Gender non-conformity - her cult was primarily composed of those outside the binary, and shows men and women adopting the opposing dialect and engaging in sex with each other.

Music and art - most of her myths are in the form of Hymns, and most of her followers were artists, musicians, or dancers. Specifically, war dances would be done in her temple.

Libations - a libation is the ritualistic act of pouring a liquid offering straight from a container onto the earth. In depictions, the person doing the offering was naked.

Unfortunately, due to the passage of time, many specific rituals have been lost. I've scoured and this is really all I can find about her ancient original worship, and a lot of it is disputed because no one knows what was a metaphorical ritual or an actual ritual.

That being said, here is how I worship her in the modern day.

Self-confidence - Inanna was not one to be meek, it is said by many experts and proven in her myths that she was headstrong and didn't care how she was perceived. To honor her, I wear whatever I want. I have a very alternative style and I used to fear people looking at me. She has helped silence my worry and in turn, helped me gain confidence.

Non-conformity - I'm nonbinary, and although my femininity is a major part of my identity, so is masculinity, and so is androgyny. Learning that she had a queer cult following was so liberating, as before learning that I felt like it was wrong of me to work with her. So every little thing I do that isn't in the social construct of the gender binary is for her.

Libations - lucky for me, this is one area of her ancient worship that can be done in a modern setting. I don't have a "proper" container, I just use a normal glass. I've done it with water, coffee, tea, lemonade, and even kool-aid.

Honey/Butter cakes - in, I believe, Inanna and The God Of Wisdom, Enki welcomes her with honey/butter cakes and alcohol. I have only made a honey cake once before and it was shit, but I plan on trying again soon to combine both into a honey bourbon cake. I know they didn't have bourbon back then, but it's a local good I can find and adds a personal touch.

Self love - my fiancé lives across an ocean, so some things we can't do together (both living with family and thin walls), so to honor and worship her, self love is a great way for those in similar situations and she enjoys it from what I've seen.

Offerings - usually dates, sometimes cherries, often lemonade or tea, and more recently honey whiskey. These offerings might not be "traditional" in style, but they work for me and her. I have a small glass from an old Costco tiramisu and an iridescent bowl I got half off at our local grocery, both have an 8pointed star on them. Usually I sit them out for days at a time, or at least over night, and then either ingest them or just toss it in the trash (any other alternative isn't doable in my current situation)

Music - I listen to a variety of music with her, songs about sex, love, anger, fighting, injustice. She loves it, and if you want more detail on this I have a post about the songs on her playlist here.

Driving with the windows down - I love driving, and I feel like doing so with the windows down is an easy multitasking way to cleanse myself and invite good vibes in. Usually I do this while playing her playlist.

Making posts - it may seem a little silly, but a way I honor her is keeping her and her family alive. They are old deities, their civilizations and worshippers lived about 6,000 years ago, and some of her family have had their names lost to time. Making posts about them helps get word out, and keep them "alive".

Digital temples - I play the sims 4 and I saw someone talk about how they wanted to make a temple to their goddess in the game, so... I'm making my own. And will probably have my sims "worship" her via a club. Some people don't see this as an act of worship, but I do. As @thrashkink-coven said in this post, the gods are as modern as they are ancient. I know she enjoys it.

I will go through and make a full post detailing specific UPGs (personal practice things not backed in historical fact) with her, for anyone interested.

The relation between void and Bocchi??

You see I actually love the kirby series. The fact that a cute little pink blob could annihilate a eye-demon-god-alike thing kinda work for me. And just because of that splash intro and other faces void make, I can't really shake my head off but thinking that bocchi also make those face. The face them both make is the same and accurate.. or like 80% accurate. And so it add another idea on my mind.

What if bocchi reincarnated as void the astral birth? Or essence of chaos? Or both?

Now let me clear things off first for you who didn't know about void. As you all know I'm not referring to real void, I'm talking about void from kirby star allies that have a huge role to be the final boss in the game. Oh yeah have I told you about warning spoiler even tho the game were like old now? Oh yeah I won't cover like literally every information about void (I probably will just explain the basic about em)

So void is a creature that borned due to the amount of negative energy it absorbed which making it became evil and causing chaos almost immediately after it exist (or be freed from its seal). Though there are several more of this void creature across the dimensions and has been said to be the origin of the ancestor (as how I remember it).

Void also have the title of "destroyer of worlds" or "the true destroyer of worlds" and referred as god by hyness (the dark lord who summoned it) so it's actually unknown if this religion that hyness believe in actually do have real god or not (even confirmed by one of the dev on interview).

So that's probably all the general stuff (little of general stuff) that I do have to explain and probably the thing you just have to understand In order to understand of what I'm going to say. Ehem- so back to the topic, is bocchi void termina?

And the negative energy inside of hitori gotou a.k.a bocchi is as many as the energy hyness gathered? BOOM THEORY. (Sorry I felt like matpat rn lmao) even tho, there's no more support about this theory. Those four or so years where I played the Ikemen series religiously just came out of the woodwork to smack me in the face. Sasuke renamed himself after a fictional ninja the moment he went back in time, the STARS he'll have in his eyes upon meeting Desmond. ... and I can definitely see Kenshin going after Desmond. Whether it's for a fight or otherwise, even he doesn't know

Desmond had no plans to do such a thing in the first place. He has no idea why the hell any of these was happening to him.

He doesn’t understand that, because he’s an unknown character, whatever system is in place in the world sees him as a ‘player character’ which means… people have easier time to fall in love with him because of his personality.

I like to imagine that Desmond was given a buff in their affection rating like in the normal mode of “Villains are Destined to Die” where the ‘player character’ gets a 30% affinity already to the possible love interests like a “we’re sorry you’re stuck in our world” kind of apology buff from the ‘gods’ of this world.

Of course, that additional affinity is just there to make sure Desmond doesn’t get on the bad sides of the powerful men from the get go and can still go down or up, depending on Desmond’s action.

Sasuke would be the one to talk about Multiverses and such and how Desmond’s existence could mean that they themselves are a work of fiction in a different world.

Desmond is like “yeah, I get what you’re talking about but that’s not really helpful to our current situation?” which would embarrass Sasuke because he got too fired up about it.

So in this one, they sorta know Desmond’s true identity because Sasuke played Assassin’s Creed (for the history) so Sasuke gives them the idea that maybe a POE is also somewhere here since Desmond’s here.

It’s a long shot but it’s a possibility that they can’t just dismiss.

And that is the start of Desmond’s route. Depending on the player’s actions, the player character would later switch to Desmond for the secret BL route! (Which has a harem ending because why not?)

(Kenshin’s route is more on the side of enemies-to-lovers route with Desmond actually getting a headache over how ‘devoted’ to fighting Kenshin is).

His bad ending is them finding the POE and learning that it can be used to bring them back to their proper time and dimension BUT they will come back to it at the exact time they left so Desmond will return to his world only to die from the device ‘again’. He still goes through with it though because he wants to get Mai and Sasuke back to their time and he believes he’s been living in borrowed time. The normal ending, I believe, is Desmond not using the POE and finally leaving everyone with the idea that, if he’s stuck in this world, he’ll build a Brotherhood somewhere he’s more familiar with: Italy. In other words, the normal ending has Desmond alive but alone in a whole other country with no idea what happens to him afterwards.

The part where Desmond books it and no one finds out who he truly is would work as the ‘failed’ event of unlocking Desmond’s route.

To even unlock Desmond’s route, there would be two conditions:

(1) Finished all the endings for each route.

(2) Start a new game and go to a specific event that lets Mai walk in town (this will show up as a new ‘option’ during one of the early parts of the game)

(3) Choose the “Don’t scream” when Mai wakes up one night with a shadow looming above her after the previous event on condition (2).

If all conditions are done, Desmond is unlocked as a possible route but to get to the Desmond’s route, the choices to develop his affection must be chosen.

The condition to change to Desmond as the main character and enter the BL route is to actually develop his affection up to 30% only but keep all affections to other characters at 29% or below before Sasuke appears and tells Mai and Desmond that Desmond is a character from the franchise Assassin’s Creed.

She had a younger brother and an older sister, her older sisters name was Kasha and she was killed by an unknown group. My wol then took their sisters name and fled to Eorzea on a refugee boat. She landed in Ul’dah and started from there! Kasha is VERY aggressive, mean, and insulting. She does not know basic manners and will speak her mind freely. Eats with their hands and also eats ANYTHING… Kasha doesnt like being the WoL, but continues this role because if she wont then who will? They’re very loud and boisterous and confident. Will fight anyone and everyone. She has 97 mental illnesses and is banned from most countries. q. Tell us a bit about your WoL! a. Have you ever thought "Huh, I wonder how the story of Final Fantasy XIV would change if Azem was never sundered?" WELL DO I HAVE THE WARRIOR OF LIGHT FOR YOU! Introducing Eleutherios! The lovable Azem who spent his days travelling Etheirys, caring for its people, and annoying the Convocation. Until everything fell apart, of course. On the eve of the Sundering, he denounced both the Convocation and Venat, choosing to find his own path to end the Final Days. Paths that didn't involve summoning gods or killing half of the star's population and then some. But Venat and the others had chosen their courses, and fate had been set. Now, Eleutherios should have died when Hydaelyn broke the world. But he did not. Why? Well, because of the timeline splitting in two. When? When a traveller from the future arrived in Elpis to learn the truth of the Final Days, of course. This traveller? Eleutherios himself. Hydaelyn had spared him from Her spell, making him Her chosen, in the same vein as the Unsundered Ascians being chosen to carry out Zodiark's will. Eleutherios believed the Ascians' plan to restore the world to what it once was foolish. Their people were dead. Nothing can fix that. They just have to push forward and make the best of the future they've been given. But his fellow Unsundered couldn't see this, trapped in their ideals of what the star should be. They needed to see it for what it is. But how could he expect the Convocation to do that, when the only one of them who ever seemed to care about the individual lives of the people was him? So someone has to fight for the new life springing up across the star. And thus began his great work. He's risen up to be the Warrior of Light countless times, over and over, for eons. With each Rejoining marking another failure. Time and time again he had to watch as everything he fought for was reduced to ash. Once, twice, seventh. It seemingly never ended. But what choice did he have? If he didn't fight against the Ascians, he was practically working for them by letting them get away with these atrocities. And so he carries onward as he's always done. But unbeknownst to him, this time was different. This time he meets the Scions of the Seventh Dawn. This time he travels to another Shard and manages to prevent a Rejoining. This time he isn't alone to face the second Final Days. This time, everything will finally be ok.

q. Why should YOU win? (Answer IC!) a. "Well, I'll be honest with you, I don't mind if I win or not. I just like participating and getting to know everyone! Oh, and I'll promise I'll hold back, for their sake. Though if they're Warriors of Light I'm sure they'll all hold up just fine! But if you want a serious answer about why I specifically should win, then…" [Eleutherios takes a moment to think.] "I should win based off of the fact that I have eons more experience in this whole 'Warrior of Light' business than the rest of them do. I've been at it since the Sundering! Not to say that my many, many years of experience is needed to be a Warrior of Light, or that I'm better than the rest, which couldn't be further from the truth. I think we all stand equal, sundered or not."

Scar's celestial body theory

So Scar won Secret Life and everyone is looking for what celestial body would fit him (mercury, earth, eclipse, pluto, void, dark matter and others) I’m here to propose another idea, the hypothetic planet know as Theia.

If you don’t know, Theia was a planet that merged with earth and the other half became the moon. The reason why I think Theia can work is because it links every current theory together. 

Scar won by killing the moon (Pearl) while Theia becomes the moon, this could a reference to the event in the series. Scar is often assisted with sunflowers in Secret Life which grow on earth which is half of Theia. The moon also causes eclipse along with the sun, in greek mythology Theia is the titan goddess of sight and vision and mother to Helios( the sun), Selene(the moon) and Eos(the dawn) therefore creating an eclipse. 

Theia is known as “the goddess who endowed gold, silver, and gems with their brilliance and intrinsic value”. Do you know who is also associated with gold, silver, and gems? Pluto, as he is not only the God of the underworld but also riches. There's a theory that Theia might have been a dwarf planet like Pluto however that is uncertain as I can only find this info on the Dwarf planet wikipedia page.

Mercury known as the god of deceit and trickery is popular idea for Scar however I think this could fit Theia as it unknown if this planet existed hence 'deceit and trickery'. The moon and Mercury also share many similarities, it has no atmosphere and its surface is covered with craters with similar size and mass.

I've also heard about dark matter/void theory, dark matter is “matter that does not interact with baryonic matter except gravitationally on cosmic scales” The collision was caused by the gravity of Venus and Jupiter. Theia is also not visual as it no longer exist like dark matter and the void. 

Theia also links all the previous winner together, Grian being the sun (Helios and the Earth but also mercury as there a lot on the sun for that theory) Scott being the star ( Theia is also called Aethra meaning Blue-Sky, star are found in the night sky and linked closely with the moon) Pearl being the moon ( Selene and Theia being the moon) and Martyn being Mars ( Mars and Earth share a lot of similarities and Eos was a lover of Ares). Why is this important? One of Scar main objection was to try and make friends despite his villainess arc which can be linked back to mythology as the enemies of the gods were the titans. Theia being the titan goddess of sight and vision can be portrayed as the wisdom that he uses to accomplishes trades with others as Scar has been described as having a silver tongue.

For the idea of scar being a comet I don't have much for that one besides comets colliding with planets and how Theia collided with Earth along with comets being made of gas and dust which planets are also formed from.

I think the similarities that Theia share with the other planets (especially the Earth and the moon) can be a way for everyone idea to come together. There's one more thing I want to add that I don't know where it fits. Scar almost won last life but he won secret life parallels to how Theia was given a second chance as the Earth. Much, much later, when an unknown god appears before them and strikes, casting the daughter through space and the father through time, it's up to starry-eyed Tania to get her Papa back, come what may.

Little does everyone know, however, that one Archon does know the origins for Hanahaki. After all, Barbatos was the first to contract it.

Diluc and Aster are both looking to end their lives, but neither want to see the other dead, so Aster suggests a solution: They meet up again, a week later, on the same day. If only one of them shows up, that person gets to jump. If they both show up, they both have to wait another week.

Character lore: he was born on the main planet of stars ((plants filled with star gas and forming stars)) also known as planet 001 in the system, Haliu was born on April 28th, in the royal family of stars from his mother Luntaria and his father who at the time was in the galactic military however barely knew him.

His personality: kind, sweet, funny!

In the beginning of the book he is 18 in his last year of high school soon to begin his legacy of a god of space

Can you share about a fictional character you like and why you adore them? (Any series but if you can specify a title with the character name it'd be super cool!) I love seeing people gush about fictional characters they love. It makes me happy to see the positivity.

Sure! I’ve actually gushed about one of my faves before here, and aside from that my absolutely favorite character is Kirby, from the Kirby series! Both of them are from videogames though, hope that’s cool XD

Anyways, I think he’s what you’d call a comfort character? Lil guy‘s just good vibes all around.

It’s pretty basic really. Kirby loves his friends, food, and napping, he’s pink, and says "hiiiii! :D“ in the most adorable voice ever. Helps people in trouble even without knowing them because it’s the right thing to do and a chance to meet new friends. He’s a bit overeager and tends to rush into action first, then listen later, so he got tricked by more scheming people multiple times, but he’s doing it all with good intentions! The lil guy’s endlessly curious and views the world with literal stars in his eyes, and gets so genuinely exited about all the small wonders of his little world every day.

Despite being utterly adorable, he’s still kicking ass though, fighting against enemies who are way bigger than him with weapons that are also bigger than him! A very brave lil guy. I very much grew up with all that "pink is only for girls and they’re weak“ talk, so seeing this little pink puff rocking both was always nice. (Also fun fact! Kirby going by he is an English thing, in the original they don’t use gendered words for the puffball).

There‘s also The Lore™,which is absolutely wild, and very complicated, but according to it Kirby‘s vibes are so immaculate he might actually be the "good vibes“ reincarnation of the divine being that created the universe named Void, or at least caused Void to reincarnate in his image. Also the power of friendship is real, and he’s got an unlimited amount of that. They even made a whole game about it, Kirby Star Allies. It’s entire premise is about all the friends kirby made along the way of saving the planet, with many of them even being the former bad guys of precious games! He befriends the bad guys of that game, too. They even make photos of their hangout :3

And the thing is, you have this tiny pink puff with rosy cheeks and big eyes here canonically holding the power to destroy worlds, and in any other story it would’ve gone somewhere along the lines of "ohhh it’s actually not that innocent and it’s all super dark and edgy“, and the cut thing turns into some monster with too many teeth, but not with Kirby. All the dead gods and cosmic horror adjacency don’t take away from Kirby’s cuteness, it adds to it. Because Kirby straight up doesn’t care about his own lore.

Like, yeah he cheated death, yea he killed the "destroyer of worlds“, yea the grim reaper has been stalking him in every single intro since 2011 and recently come out to fight for unknown reasons, and yea he can eat the whole universe if he wants to just like Voids last reincarnation-

But he doesn’t want that. He wants to be friends.

Kirby is in love with the world, and the world he lives is made up of the love people have for him. And I don’t just mean that in a figurative way, the producers of this series, HAL Laboratory, absolutely adore their pink puff, and you can even feel that while playing in every small detail they put in all their work. There‘s just so much care put into it way past what most people would notice or was necessary. (Especially when it comes to presentation and soundtrack. Omg, the soundtrack). There‘s just such a warmth surrounding this little guy who’s shaped like a friend and holds love in his hands.

Kirby wants to be friends, play silly games, he wants to eat lots of strawberry cake and take a nap in the grass under a tree and look at butterflies and go on adventures with all his friends and make drawings of all of them and go fishing with his bestie who trains to be just as brave as strong as him and then visit the sleepy but kind king he fought all the way back in his very first adventure but has since become one of his closest friends, and maybe on the way they‘ll meet the mysterious knight who‘s super serious but secretly cares too and likes sweets a lot so maybe they could all eat cake together and when it’s late they can all watch the stars on the roof of the castle and when the moon is high he’ll go to sleep in his warm bed in his tiny house full of pictures of all his friends and adventures, and then the sun will rise and he’ll take a big ol bout of air and jump out the bed and greet the new day with a big"Hiiiii!“ with the stars twinkling in his eyes from the light of the new day that he already knows he’ll love.

Because at the end of the day, that’s what Kirby has always been and will be about, love.

And I love Kirby for it :)

Right, so first and foremost glad to see Tal back.

Secondly, hot damn Morri is terrifying, fucking Old Lady from Spongebob, AH! Real Monsters looking ass. Quite curious to see where things go with her in two weeks.

Now on to FCG, while not the biggest reveal of the session, Letters origin as a Harmonious Aeormaton is a curious thing. If they were meant to be protectors, and guardians, seemingly caretakes/companions for singular individuals was his “line” targetted exclusively, by what ever Mage caused the Care and Culling, or were “lines” like Devexian, or forms like a Hodmedods used? Also the Professor stated that he has never heard of a Aeormaton with healing abilities which further adds confusion to Letters purpose.

Did the person he was given to show him faith, and that was why they were chosen to be murdered in the first place due to rising Anti-God sentiment in the Age of Arcanum?

Also did this happen after Aeormaton’s were emancipated? Because if so, it adds another shade of darkness to his predicament as a Sleeper Agent.

But this leads me around to Ludenis, in a curious fashion, one could say. Firstly, the Hubris of this fucker is so thick you can taste it. Secondly, I’ll admit, I didn’t believe he’d be drinking his own Koolaid/acting the true believer but I am willing to accept I may have been wrong. Yet, his whole comment about “Power is just a Tool,” makes me think he does not share his Cults “devotion” to this new world, or Otohan’s belief in being “better” than baseline mortals.

I desperately wanted to hear who was on that list of Historic Ruidusborn, especially since he was so cagey about his own connection to the Moon and the Beast trapped within.

That and seeing a comment from someone made it click as to why the Ruby Vanguard(If it Was in fact them and not Otohan doing some fuckery), is that they were likely after lore regarding the Gau Drashari, if any remained, and their connection to the rituals of the Prime Deities. Could be off base, but it would be an interesting reason.

Yet, what drew my attention the most was his rant to Fearne before he left. About seeing the Wrath of the Gods first hand. Now at first blush, while the cast seemed convinced he was talking about the Calamity, I thought he was full of shit or they were just reading that wrong. After all, he is from Molaesmyr, which was destroyed in some unknown disaster, which he was indeed alive for. Yet, the fault for that disaster seemingly lies on the shoulders of Aeor and their fuckery, due to hints laid back in C2.

Yet, a thought struck me. Ludenis lived in Molaesmyr, but shit it was never stated that he was born there. He’s an Archmage, more than that an Elven Arcmage, who has long showed interests in powers that manipulate the fabric of reality and have the power to roll back the wheel of time. What if...what if Ludenis did see the Calamity, though some form of immortality or the usage of the Clone spell he survived into the modern age, but what if we go even further than that. What if he was a Mage of Aeor, what if he saw the “fear” of the Gods first hand as the “hated rivals” returned to Family once more and struck their city from the sky in an act of monumentous Divine Intervention.

A shard of Aeor landed in Molaesmyr. He could have in some shape or form landed with it. The folly that devestated the city, corrupting the Savalierwood, and eventually leading to the breaking of the Star Razor? A misstep in his attempts to finish his people’s work. After all, he said it himself Killing the Gods, “Has Been My Life’s Work.”

Hell, wouldn’t it be wild if he was behind the Care and Culling? Nah...unless!

Moving away from that crazy old bastard...we learned the likely name of Ruidus’s people: The Reilora. Somal claimed they were behind the Flairs, not Predathos, so either they are working for the entity, their likely creator and she wasn’t in the know as much as the others were, or there is some more nebulous shit going on up there. After all, like she said, some of them appeared in Flesh, while others were simply energy. But most importantly, she stated that some were kind, empathic, caring...could that just be a ploy, or is there something else going on up on that Moon. To quote the codger himself, “Creations outgrow their creators”, and that includes the purposes given to them. If Predathos created them after consuming Ethedok, and Vordo...what did he make them out of, and why would they not also wish to throw off the shackles seemingly placed on them by the divine.

I still say Ludinus’s plan is doomed to failure, likely a cataclysmic one if he “succeeds”, especially since, with the nebulous entity and existence of the Luxon, who is to say Predathos wouldn’t simply turn his attention to Exandria, even if he consumed the Gods first?

Also I saw someone say the Gods dying would be a good thing, cause the Raven Queen would get ate, allowing Vax to come back and I just...I don’t think that is how that would work at all.

Also saw another, claiming that a Ruidus win could allow CR to divorce from WoTC, since most of the Gods are pulled from base D&D content and I just...I don’t think even if they did pull away it would be anywhere near that simple.

Researching some games

Cuphead - Cuphead is a game that has a similar level design to the way I want my game to be. This is specifically about the run and gun levels as they are more platform than fighting. I want my levels to look similar construction wise as I'm not confident in platform design.

Castle Of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse 2013 remaster - This game has both a side scroller and 3rd person aspect to it. Although again I want to go for the level design, not the boss levels as there isn't much platforming in them. I like the idea of the flooding like there is in the sea monkey boss fight.

Geometry Dash - This game has wonderful level design. The level is entirely based around the beat of the music that the level is played with. I enjoy how the art style is incredibly simple but the game is still loved by many.

My Friend Pedro - I actually like the combat in this game more than the level design. The way you wipe out enemies is just so awesome. I might honestly add combat to this project because of this.

Thomas Was Alone - This game is incredibly strange. It has a super engaging story despite the only characters being different coloured squares. There is a narrator taking you through the story as you play. There is a character switching function in this one like my game Different Together although in this you switch character in order to progress the levels by completing little puzzles.

Similar Aesthetic

Assassin's Creed Valhalla - All time favorite Assassin's Creed game as it contains my favorite mythology. I love the way they designed the environment, animals and characters. They made the most accurate Viking representation I have ever seen especially with the oaths and honour themes through it. They spell Freyja's name wrong though.

God Of War - God Of War is a bit all over the place. For some reason, the mythology used changes. It is originally Greek Mythology and then switches to Norse which makes absolutely no sense. The games aren't very engaging to me and I don't like this take on Norse Mythology.

Apotheon - This seems to be a side scroller game based heavily upon Greek Mythology. Its art style makes it seem as though you are traveling across wonderful pieces of art from the time of the mythology being widely appreciated. I absolutely love how they styled this game and will try to take inspiration from it.

Devil May Cry - Devil May Cry is my all time favorite game (if my blog profile picture didn't give it away.) This game series actually takes inspiration from various mythologies for the enemies. It also seems to sort of have its own religion incorporated into it, through the worship of Sparda as he served as the feudal lord of Fortuna.

Metal: Hellsinger - This game seems incredibly loosely tied to Christianity because of the Heaven and Hell references throughout. It features combat against angels and demons with one direct real enemy, the Red Judge. This is a music based game where you fight demons and angels to the beat in order to try and get back what was stolen from The Unknown (the protagonist of the game.)

I loved every aspect of my life in college (the independence, the classes, the classmates, the city I was living in, even the lack of stability of real adult life). it was my entire personality. of course, I have other things going on, as I knew grad school was gonna end eventually (I applied for a master’s degree, yay!) but I just fear things aren’t gonna be the same :( add to this the pressure of now having to actually find a job and make ends meet myself! it’s bittersweet bc I see my friends be very excited for the future and they were counting down the seconds to the last day of classes, and there I was, refusing to let go lol (also, I really think part of the reason I feel this is explained in Tay’s “this is me trying” speech in the lp sessions, I’m a classic type A who loves to be graded and given a star, you know?). I just wished that the future didn’t look like a dark blob and that I could hold onto what my life looked like for a little longer xx

Hi friend! This is so so so relatable. I actually vividly remember having a conversation with one of my favourite profs in j school confessing how scared I was to graduate because I'm the type of person who has always been good at school. You get used to the environment and derive comfort from it because you know you excel at it and to an extent it's also 'safe'. The stakes are grades and GPAs and class deadlines and tests.

But 'out there' it's office politics and fighting for promotions and taxes and meetings and job interviews and second job interviews and NOT GETTING JOBS YOU INTERVIEWED FOR. It's scary and unknown and very very real and also the literal rest of your entire life oh dear god WHAT.

Like I said. Very relatable.

All I can tell you from one Type A who loves a gold star and an A and the safety of a lecture hall to another - it will be okay. I promise. You'll figure it out! It will become the new normal! You will enter a new phase of life that also includes MONEY! And (hopefully) a new social network of people to be friends with and bond with! And a new schedule and reliable daily routine that you get to foster.

It is very normal and so okay to be clinging to the last sense of normalcy that you know because change is hard and terrifying.

But it will be okay!

Wishing you all the best and also freaking congratulations on all your hard work and accomplishments. You should feel so proud of yourself and all you've been able to achieve thus far!

60. Left 4 Dead 2

Left 4 Dead 2 is the better of the two because all of L4D1 is in L4D2. And it's FAN-FREAKING-TASTIC to play with friends (or bots), just do a whole campaign with 3 of your friends shooting zombies, trying to get through to each safe house, getting picked up at the end, it's a great time.

59. XCOM: Enemy Unknown

The game that really got me into the X-COM/XCOM series. XCOM: Enemy Unknown is Firaxis's first take on the alien strategy game, and refines it so you get a nice streamlined experience, and repopularized the genre. Even with its sequel choosing to go with the bad end, the good end is fun to get to.

58. Theme Hospital

I love Theme Hospital more than Theme Park. I don't know why, the theme of health care can be very dry. But Theme Hospital makes it funny with Bloaty Head, King Complex, Hairyitis, and Invisibility illnesses. It's a little less hardcore than Theme Park, but that makes it better, in my opinion.

57. Two Point Hospital

Not to say that the formula couldn't be improved. Two Point Hospital is everything Theme Hospital is, but better. Better room design capabilities, better way of hiring staff, better training of staff, sillier illnesses, easier to get into, more experimentation with levels, just everything's better. I freaking love Two Point Hospital.

56. Two Point Campus

Not to say it couldn't be refined further. Two Point Campus replaced the health care theme with a university/college theme and adds the ability to build your own buildings instead of having pre-built plots to build within. The new theme allows them to go even zanier, and it's worth it to three-star each university. I love Two Point Campus.

55. The Sims 2

The Sims 2 is my favorite of the The Sims series, adding aspirations, wants, fears, and giving the game a great feel. Adding the life stages, and making Sims age was a great addition to the series, and it's all-in-all a better experience than The Sims 1.

54. Baldur's Gate 2

Baldur's Gate was a great RPG when it came out, but Baldur's Gate 2 was better. It had a great main villain, a compelling story, and a great group of characters that are memorable, especially Minsc and his miniature space hamster, Boo.

53. Borderlands 2

Yes, yes, I know, its humor can feel dated now, but Borderlands 2 is still a blast to play through if you get a group of friends together to do so. Handsome Jack is a fantastic villain, and the guns feel great to use. Well, maybe not Hyperion if you're concerned about accuracy. Anyway, the Vault Hunters all feel unique, and it's fun to play as any of them.

52. FlatOut 2

FlatOut 2 is a great racing game with stunts and realistic damage. Its AI isn't too bad either, I don't feel like they're rubberbanding when I race against them. The tracks are all distinct and feel good to race on. The stunt mode is also great, trying to fling your avatar into specific places.

51. Rise of the Triad

Ah, good ol' Rise of the Triad, the progenitor of Ludicrous Gibs. It's not bad, being built on a heavily-modified Wolfenstein 3D engine that allowed height. Its ridiculousness helped it stand out among the so-called “DOOM clones,” what with powerups and powerdowns such as God Mode, Dog Mode, Shrooms Mode, and Elasto Mode. Really looking forward to the Ludicrous Edition.

Recent media viewing

I decided to open up Netflix the other day and watch the Sandman adaptation. It's as good as everyone has been saying it is! And episode 5 has some gross bits that you'll see coming if you're paying attention (also, the nice black lady and her dog don't die, if you're worried about that). The Corinthian is EVEN CREEPIER in live action.

I spent a lot of time thinking "God, that actor looks and sounds familiar" whenever the Corinthian was on screen, but I looked him up and he wasn't in anything else I've seen, so I guess he's just got That Kind Of Face (or at least lower half of it, since he's got dark glasses on 95% of the time.)

While I was on Netflix, they showed me recommendations, as algorithms do, and I browsed the anime selection to see if there was anything to add to my (extremely long) watchlist.

I decided to watch Tekken: Bloodline, because deep in my heart of hearts, I love 2D fighting games. Not at all because I've been a JinHwo shipper since the early 2000s, nope. Anyway, it's a Netflix original, originally voiced in English. The voice acting ranges from fine (Jin, Hwoarang, Nina, Paul) to cringe (Jun, Xiaoyu) to comical (Heihachi), and for some completely unknown reason, Heihachi's assistant uses weeb-Japanese and says "hai" when she could say "yes, sir." (Like, this is the ONLY Japanese in the show. I'm not counting uses of sensei, because that's been borrowed into English as a martial arts term, or the time Paul says "Mishima Zaibatsu," because that's been in the US versions of the game since forever.)

Is it any good? It's not bad... It's basically the plot of Tekken 3, with references to 1&2, with Jin finding out about his family and Heihachi being a total asshole (I mean, duh). The character designs are weird, like their faces are too small for their necks and chins are too pointy, and somehow Jin looks like Heero Yuy in profile. I laughed a couple times (Paul (or maybe Nina): You two are friends? Jin & Hwoarang (unison): NO!) and may be on the way to shipping Jin/Hwo/Xiaoyu because they're ADORABLE.

When I got my new computer for Xmas, it came with a free 3-month trial of Apple TV. I didn't do anything about it until they sent me an email that it would go away if I didn't use it, then I signed up. There's actually a good bit of good stuff on there, so I'm keeping it for 4.99 a month.

Severance: suuuuper creepy SF mystery/thriller? where people can sign up to get implants that sever their work lives from their home lives so they can work on something so secret, even their work-selves don't know what it is. Season 1 ends with a massive cliffhanger that was extremely brave, because S2 hadn't been confirmed yet. (It is now.) It stars the guy from Parks & Rec and guest stars Christopher Walken.

The Essex Serpent: based on a book, apparently. Tom Hiddleston plays a vicar who lives out in the wilds in the 1880s or so; Claire Danes is a recently widowed paleontologist. Hiddles is utterly charming, as always; Danes is a bit flat, as always (I've always liked her, but she has about 2 expressions: confused and sad). There's a doctor who wants to date her, and her BFF/maid ALSO wants to date her, but she's only got eyes for the vicar (who's married, of course). Anyway, she hears rumors of a sea monster in the river and goes to investigate it, which is where she meets the vicar and so on. You can tell it's going to be a romance, but that part is somehow not compelling.

For All Mankind: space race AU where the Soviet Union gets to the moon first and NASA has to catch up. A lot of the real-world timeline is changed in ways that are good (space shuttles! moon base!) and bad (USSR doesn't collapse). In season 3, there is an extremely honest depiction of Gay Life in the 90s and of the within-group politics of assimilation or not. I lived through it (before I knew I was queer, or admitted it anyway), and it still punched me in the gut. We've made so much progress in the last 30 years that it's easy to forget just how terrible it was back then and that Don't Ask Don't Tell was the progressive compromise. It made me think about all the puriteens here on tunglr dot com and the stupid discourse about ~flawed media~ and ~problematique~ stuff. They should watch it and maybe fucking learn some history.

I have a very specific request, and I'm sure someone here can point me in the direction of acquiring this. (These, I guess; there are two specific fannish things I've wanted for a while.)

The litany against fear, in its entirety, in calligraphy or similar. Not twee. (I'm not actually into Dune, but having basically cognitive behavioral therapy on my wall might help me with my stupid anxiety.)

The Discworld DEATH bit "to be the place where the falling angel meets the rising ape", with or without the rest of the speech. (It's a long speech and would make the piece too busy.) Not twee. Potentially illustrated with silhouettes in the background behind the text.

I have no artistic ability nor any skill at graphic design, and I lack the patience for calligraphy. Thinking about embroidery or cross-stitch makes my fingers hurt. (My mom was an avid cross-stitcher and taught me when I was a kid. I could never hold the needle properly.)

I can't be the only person who wants directors or whoever makes these decisions let Oscar Isaac have his gorgeous salt and pepper hair. A grown-ass man, silver at the temples, charming smile. Please?

Also I saw a comment about Dune that said they "aged him up" to play Duke Leto, and it took everything I had in me not to comment "oh, you mean they didn't make him dye his hair?"
